thinking about dead end aegis and my precious traumatized af fully adult magical girls. I would give a toe if someone would translate that fandisc for me. I would pay them $40 even if it was worth $20. I want it. I want it.
I know it was a dark dead dove do not eat ass crazy eroge that makes me look crazier than my enjoyment of saya no uta does but I can’t stop thinking about it!!! I would read it again if I had the strength but god damn it’s a tough game to sit through even if you know there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

I'll be honest, I'm sometimes bummed that I seem to have missed the heyday of RPGmaker tumblr And then the self-doubt creeps in as well like, did I really miss the heyday, or is wizkens just uninteresting lol 🙃 i guess it is neither horror nor earthboundlike, the Two Genres (tho certainly closer to the latter than horror)
Maybe I just need more actual graphics to show? in any case my main point was I only sometimes feel that way and I'm proud that I'm chugging along solely on my own motivation, for the most part (with a few very kind cheerleaders in the comments lol <3 ) but yea I don't think I could've kept this up back in the day when I relied too much on outside validation for art

Post Lexember Musings
Now that I've gotten the remains of Lexember 2024 out of the way, I should really sit down and come up with some achievable conlang goals for this year.
WIKI
I want to keep working on my wiki, keep chipping away at those Faerûnian Elven dictionary entries, and maybe branch out into the Supernalese language family. At the end of this I want each language to have;
articles on the people who speak the language,
articles about the language,
the writing systems they use,
the historical forms of the language and how it evolved,
and dictionary entries for swadesh words.
There's some other stuff I want to get to if I can be bothered, such as common (a trade pigeon used in Faerûn. I personally think it's really cute, a lot of animal words are the sound they make in a reduplicated pair, so cat is essentially miaow-miaow, dog woof-woof, songbird tweet-tweet, corvid bird caw-caw etc), the main languages the common derives from, and some maps and other images to tie everything together. But! These aren't super important, if I put them off to return to a different project, that's fine, it's just the completionist in me thinking up great ideas at a rate no human could possibly fit in within their lifetime.
SCRIPTS
Additionally I want to put more time into refining my writing systems. After a year or more using the current ones, I'm noticing some little features that could be better, forms that could be captured better by hand etc, that cannot be resolved in another other way than me drawing them out by hand, digitising them, vectorising them, and then converting them into functional typefaces.
Unfortunately I do not not know if there's an easy way to "tell" a typeface to type boustrophedonically, so to capture the scripts properly I will need to either grit my teeth and just live with the roman directionality, or figure out a cheap and easy work around.
THIS BLOG
It occurs to me I should probably do more to share what I'm working on here in greater detail, mostly my issue is that I'm not really sure what the best format even is for tumblr these days. At the very least I should share the information I currently have on my wiki filed under "metalog" which is to say, a quick series of tables details basic information about each language from my perspective and not in-universe.
Information such as;
the date of birth of each language,
my primary and secondary purpose,
the name of the language by its own terms as well as my own,
the setting,
language family, dialects, morphology, phonology, syntax, number system,
how magical the language is (a mechanic of my own invention that doesn't necessarily conform to wotc canon but it's not like I actually care what they're doing in this regard),
genders,
number (different than the number system),
tense,
mood,
aspect,
transitivity,
passivity,
cases,
the reputation of the language by non-speakers within Faerûn (wotc has some pre-existing worldbuilding on this by I personally find them nonsensical and not exactly demonstrative of someone who understands the difference between Language, and Word Language within a language iykwim, so I am trying to make sense of what already exists and throwing out everything that doesn't make sense to me or is something they've hinted they're trying to move away from like the concept of languages being evil in and of themselves. Mostly I am concerned with is how "literary" a language is vs how wildly spoken they are vs how oppressed or suppressed they are as this is something that is going to manifest in loanwords and proper nouns.)
links to articles that go more in depth in various subjects,
and also a quickly example of the language so I can remind myself what it looks like and how it's structured.
Obviously not all of these are going to be easy to share on tumblr but I should at least come up with a little table for you all so you can tell the alphabets from the abjads from the abugidas from the logographs from the
At the very least I should make random posts going over what I'm changing as that is ultimately the purpose of this blog.

Something very important I learned from math is that you can disprove an implication with a counterexample. I mean, I knew this before but I didn't really internalize how useful it was. Before studying math, if someone said ∀x(P(x)→Q(x)) and I didn't agree, what I would try to do (though I didn't have the terminology to describe it this way at the time) is argue metalogically that ∀x(P(x)→Q(x)) was not a tautology. This is dubious first of all because it only responds to the de dicto reading of natural language sentences of the form ∀x(P(x)→Q(x)), but it's also just a really hard point to actually make convincingly. But a counterexample, oh boy, a counterexample shuts down all readings and is also really intuitively convincing. Counterexamples are great. If you ever need to convince someone that ∃x(S(x) ∧ R(x)), just exhibit x!

i love that delany is into category theory, at least enough to name drop it. part of what really struck me with trouble on triton was the similarity between the "customized metalogics" the protagonist creates for a living and my interest in pl theory. category theory is a really natural place to go from there. the "naming, listing, and counting theory" mentioned as a subfield of category theory seems to be made up*, and the phrase suggests an idea of category theory that's more related to the natural-language concept of categories than the mathematical one, but either way it's fun to imagine.
*(though there's an offhand mention in an ieee mailing list archive; i assume it's a delany reference but i'm really not sure what's meant by it there. assigning variable names?)

Literally me trying to figure out what to say before realizing I always meant to find out which kind of math(s). I never got to finish any of that stuff in school (because school finished me first), but I always liked the weirder more abstract stuff that had fewer practical applications. Like calculus is incredibly useful but was always kind of boring to me, but I totally loved metalogic/metamathematics.
(and also me trying to figure out possible answers to the one in the screenshot: "fuck killing, marry marrying, and kill fucking: a sex-repulsed allo ace who thinks a little murder is ok as a treat")
I was really into the theoretical stuff, actually! My favorite classes were Computational Theory (basically drawing out mind maps that represented how a computer worked, and working backwards over the whole semester from modern computers to Turing’s theoretical Turing Machine, with the single read/write head and an infinite tape), Number Theory, Cryptography, those kinds of things!
(I think I would fuck marrying, marry fucking, and kill killing. Lmao. Also sorry for the late reply, I’ve been so spoonless)

I think a larger project is starting to form in my head 🤔 probably remnants of wanting to do something more "serious", or at least more grounded (well, 'grounded' relative to Wizkens lol)
So like, fun fact, the latter half of my teenhood was dominated by this story & OCs that I never really did anything with (in many ways I don't think a lot of it aged well at all 😬)
And I'm not revisiting that story in particular (pls no) but I do think it left a residue of wanting to do a more "serious" worldbuildy work at some point
That became very obvious when I started contributing ideas to my spouse's TTRPG setting worldbuilding was clearly something I completely forgot I was passionate about but, with that, my spouse obviously has the final word on which ideas they actually want to use so although that's been a fun creative outlet it's still left that lingering desire for a "serious" setting that I have total control over (and wizkens is not quite scratching that itch either since it's smaller scale & pretty silly lol)
So anyway I think I will probably be channeling my love of nature knowledge into whatever this ends up being like, for example years ago I learned a ton about frogs there were so many neat little facts that I thought would be fun to exaggerate & twist into more of a fantasy thing
And I think it might be something like that; an interconnected series of games(?) about different animal/nature kingdoms--with worldbuilding rooted in real biology, but exaggerated & fantasyfied.  In an almost educational way  =P
Heck I may even go ahead & start this series w/the frog-based one.  You know, after wizkens….i suppose…  But maybe just a little bit of planning/brainstorming in the meantime, as a treat  >>
TL;DR I am approaching that particular dev hell of being tormented by new game ideas 🙃

History is a model of past actuality.
Philosophy Teaching by Examples.—That history is philosophy teaching by examples has been attributed to Thucydides, who, if he said it, was more right than he knew. He might just as well have said that history is logic teaching by examples, and he would have been equally right, for history is a concrete demonstration of the demonstrable property of formal systems having a multitude of models (unless these formal systems are categorical). A history is a model of given period of time, and a model is an interpretation of a formal system. In formal thought, the formal system is the given for which we must account, and for which we seek an adequate model. But this could be rightly called a perverse way to frame the actual process of formal thought. In genetic terms, it is the intuitive model that comes first, and the human need to rationalize seeks to derive a rigorous formal system from this intuitive model. After we have formulated the formal system, then we try to discern whether there are multiple models that fit the formal framework we have constructed, or whether there is only one, true model of a formal system, in which case that formal system is categorical. In historical thought, it is past actuality that is the given for which we must account, and the histories we write are the models that constitute interpretations of past actuality. As we all know to our sorrow, the historically given has countless models, each of which corresponds to different intuitions of how the world is. A history, then, is an implementation of a theory of history, which demonstrates succinctly what Hayden White had already intuited, namely, that every history is based on a philosophy of history. Of course, the heart’s desire of the historian (buried under layers of self-justification) is that his history possesses the metalogical property of categoricity, such that his history is the one true history that corresponds uniquely to past actuality. To date, we lack any method to demonstrate this for any history. While a demonstration of categoricity for some particular case would be welcome, the Holy Grail of history would be a general method applicable to all cases.

It's not like Kevin has a no-kill rule. He hits a guy in the head with three bricks from the top of a building! It's just that none of them killed him.
I think if it was funny for a child to kill Ghostface, it might overpower the 'he's a kid, we can't let him kill someone on television rule', especially if this is the two universes and their metalogic being combined instead of one opponent being in their enemy's universe.
And I think Kevin wins this. If it's true that the Ghostface killers never win in their own movies, where winning is defined as 'successfully killing every member of the main cast', and it's true that Kevin always wins his own movies, where winning is defined as 'not allowing the bad guys to kill, maim, injure or significantly inconvenience him in any way', although that last part may be in trouble if all of his family died (Then again they were mostly abusive towards him and he might be better off with the state; with Kevin's luck he might actually end up getting adopted by a presumably non-evil version of Trump depending on the setting, like Home Alone 2 which took place in his own hotel? Or something like that?), then, well, Kevin's basically got this in the bag.
It won't be easy, he's really gonna have to work for it, and it may end in a Pyrrhic Victory, but I can't imagine the Ghostface killers outright winning this.
...
However, I would like to propose two alternative matchups.
The first is the cast of a Final Destination movie, who are forced to survive Kevin, and will likely all lose...
And the second is Death from the Final Destination movies, who completely folds Kevin like a perfect omelette. I'm telling you, it would be genuinely embarrassing how easily Kevin dies. Once he's set up all of his traps to try and catch Death, Death just Rube Goldbergs him with them.
Death's entire power set is causing seemingly natural deaths using elements of the environment around his targets, and they're incredibly hard to avoid or predict (like a malfunctioning eye surgery machine, a falling fire escape, an explosion propelling a chain link fence THROUGH your body, or just drowning in the shower), and Kevin is SURROUNDED with those! They are his entire power set! I genuinely think Death would feel bad about how easy it would be to kill Kevin: we're not talking about the average FD protagonist, or the average person, or even the average child, Kevin routinely surrounds himself with traps designed to severely harm people! Even with HA enhanced durability, Kevin's still gonna fucking die!
It would be so easy I think Death might give up from being paralysed with indecision. Like, there's no question about him being able to kill Kevin here: he's Death! He always wins in his own films, and it's implied that the only reason they stand a chance of survival is A) because Life her(?)self is helping them, or B) because he's sending the visions himself to help them avoid the original cause of death so he can kill them for fun, which would mean they never stood a chance in the first place! Even if Kevin survived long enough to die of old age, he's still gonna die, although for the purpose of the film, that probably doesn't count as a win for Death.
There's one final matchup I've just thought of, though... The Mystery Inc crew (Composite, Scooby Doo) vs Death (Final Destination). I cannot even begin to imagine how chaotic the film would be, but I know exactly how it would end...
"And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids!"
Probably helps that Scooby's apparently some kind of eldritch being.

I like to think the Ant On A Rubber Rope Paradox is an inspirational metaphor, but not just a paradox or a metaphor, but a truth, a law of reality even, a piece of fundamental logic about our existence. Like, by the logic of how I think the Ant On A Rubber Rope Paradox must be solved, the ant must eventually reach the end no matter how long it gets, even if it gets a hundred, thousand, billion times its length, as long as the ant never stops, even with all of its legs broken, it will eventually no matter how long it takes reach the other side, at least that's how I see it. It's kind of like Anti-Sisyphean.
I use it to inspire myself I guess. Time marches on, so you too march on. Even if you stand still, but especially if you keep moving forward. As long as you don't stop, you will reach an end. Even if that end isn't or can't be death, there will be an end. Maybe you could choose that end, or come to the conclusion that there can only be one end, and march on anyway. Whatever the case, it's clarifying. It's a very fundamental piece of universal logic, and while it's fun to break in stories, it'll always assert itself in reality. Time is made of ends upon ends upon ends, but without a body connecting them. The constant of ending is itself the body of time.
You're not Sisyphus, you're an ant on a rubber rope! Maybe Sisyphus isn't even Sisyphus, maybe he's also an ant on a rubber rope, and in his predicament, no matter how many eons it could take, he eventually finds the end to his punishment, the end to his life, and the end to his legend. You know if he was real, that's just what I think the metalogic states. Not so much "The Indomitable Human Spirit" vs "The Unending Flow of Time", more like "The indomitable human spirit is on the side of the unending flow of time, and so the unending flow of time is on the side of the indomitable human spirit." They're better together. They might be just two sides of the same coin. No yin without a yang I guess. Duality and completion always beats monotony and separation.

Sorry I usually don’t do this but this post makes me really really angry. 1) modern day philosophy literally exists we did not stop thinking about the world in the middle ages 2) plato and aristotle aren’t in a single dialogue together ur thinking of the socratic dialogues which were written by plato but which crucially plato never actually appears in. They did know each other and plato was aristotle’s teacher which is why both were depicted in the painting of the school of athens but if you wanted to get across the idea of a conversation between equals it would be more apt to compare, like, aristotle and speussipus. Ok actually I’m realizing op was just trying to evoke school of athens but still ‘modern day philosophy’ is gonna make me actually insane. Lastly and most importantly 3) if you’re comparing oc conversations to modern day philosophy I would like an essay on what your oc’s relationship to metalogic and philosophy of language and so on are. Because actually I think you are describing Having A Fun Conversation

I hate the love is a high scary scaly cliff analogy because their lense grade is based off their visions bank of experience, and that just sounds of fear and lack of gusto for risk or chances to grow. Also first of all what if I'm a bungee jumper and cliffs don't scare me and are a day to day. Who's to say then, if it makes me a better lover? If given my say on the wordplay, it'd be, it gives an unfair competitive air and therefore advantage to the enlightened or experienced partner.
So I raise that we all immediately remove any rules, traditions or templates we are using to work at/on and or maintain something as intangible, exfoliating, vast, irritating, meticulous and yet engulfing as love. When we open our minds to the possibilities of anything we charge the literal universe with giving us options to choose from or getting us exactly what we want. We give our heart and souls the igniting power of the magical ability we humans have but don't spend enough time in practice of which is of course to receive something you can only get from another, LOVE. So I think metalogically if you already possess an concept, plan or vision for your said love goal or journey, then drive and an endurance, I believe no matter who where or what you do or don't worship, the law of all molecules in motion says you must receive it.
When we try to control or maneuver love to our will we play at an image of trying to grip, hold and keep sand in hand. I say we create the environment we see our love growing and stop putting our seeds in others gardens and trying fertilizer for your relationship because someone you admire did or got a result you think you can achieve. Love is always a lawless lieu of effort. What will or won't you do for the love, you believe exists and you deserve?
I say mine looks and feels like a felt atwork of a moving, gold mine on water and I am the captain marathoner, only able to see or learn once I'm bold enough to face the ever teaching sea of life and love what it is I seek. And my rules are simple if you can't swim, you must stay at bay. Dock your vicarious experimental test of streaking shock to inflate your self worth or diffibulate your broken heart. Self Evaluate, Research, Live Experiment with Self critique and development in each and every consideration of a new interaction, relationship, or venture that requires your passion. Misplaced love be like Vesuvius escaping the inches cocoon only to consume miles in her gut wrenching genocidal natural disaster of demolition, creation; evolution.
