Look, this is ridiculous. But it’s bugging me. It bugs me on and off (though less since it’s been a while since I wrote poetry and had to worry about meter).

The sword of the day is the mere pounamu.

The mere pounamu is a short, paddle-shaped club from the indigenous Māori of Aotearoa (New Zealand). It is an extremely potent symbol of status, a chief’s weapon, and a family heirloom. Individual mere were given names (the one pictured is named Kataore, after a chief), and thought to be imbued with magic or supernatural powers. As the name suggests, it is composed of nephrite jade (aka pounamu or greenstone). The durable material they are made of means that a mere could take more than a year to carve by hand. In combat, the mere would be used primarily as a jabbing weapon, in contrast to most other clubs, with strikes directed at the temples, neck, or ribs.

Tis: — So that's why you're here alone in the street with a strange get-up.

I know it's crazy coming from me… but because of our organization’s nature, we sometimes have to take secret measures to carry out our missions.

That's why only a limited number of people know of us, let alone the details of the mission.

Mere: So that's the reason why you don't want Claude to know.

Oscar: It's nothing like that.

Oscar: Nope, we didn't.

Can't blame you though, there are lots of similar looking paths around here so it's no wonder you'd feel lost.

Speaking of which, even angels can get lost? I trust Mere to collect intels for us, but is he gonna be fine by himself?

Tis: He's absolutely gonna be fine. Master Mere is ancient, he has plenty of experience under his belt despite his looks.

Never mind that, aren't we going to procure weapons for us to use next?

There's also this outfit… Never would have guessed we'd be so geared up in a slums like this~

Oscar: It's the opposite, actually.

This is the kind of place where you have to protect yourself.

… Maybe it's more fitting for me to say that this has “become” that kind of place…

Tis: What do you mean by that?

Oscar: This whole area used to be under the control of a family, it established a level of order for better or worse.

While pickpockets and brawls are common here, the security wasn't so bad that people felt their lives were in danger.

… But one day, the military arrested the family. This place soon became a lawless land and fell into disrepair.

And as you can see, it keeps getting worse.

Tis: So that's what happened.

Oscar:... To sum it up, don't expect that taking out the trash you can see could make the whole town clean.

Tis: ……

Oscar: Come on, you could see the weapon shop there. Don't get your knees weak just from looking at the brutal weapons.

💧 Winx Club AU: Meredith, Fairy of Ocean Waves 💧

Second-to-last, here is Meredith as a Winx Club fairy! :3 She is the only one of these girls that I originally imagined would be a fairy in a Winx Club AU, and honestly, her fairy form here gave me the most struggle trying to come up with good ideas for. Mainly when it came to her outfit, as I wasn't sure whether to give her pants and a top, a top and skirt, or a dress, and what style any of those would be in. But, I think I settled on something that would look cute for her^^ I hope you enjoy!

Some extra notes about her fairy form:

Her dress is more of a brighter blue color and is slightly longer, with silver being her accent color. When transformed, her bangs get pushed back with some of her hair being braided into a half-up style, with the rest of her hair hanging down loose. Her wings are a grayish-blue, being in more of a waterdrop shape.
