The next half year I will memorise a Bibleverse each month that have to do with Gods love for us. As a daughter of the most High God, I need to get His love for me rooted in my innermost being.
Please, if you have other Scriptures that talks about Gods love for us, please share in a comment 🙏🏻🥰

How to make studying/memorizing fun
I'm gonna let you all in on a little secret to how I've been memorizing things for the bar and also trying to collect any possible opportunity to make this whole process a little less miserable. It's going to sound a little insane but I think it helps!
This process also makes the specific professor you had, even if they didn't "teach to the bar" properly, a little helpful.
Ok so take torts. There was a running joke in our class that our torts professor looked like she could have been a pixar character. That being said, I've decided that everything related to torts that I'm having trouble memorizing has to be related to pixar - which is an easy connection to make cause everytime I think of torts I think of the professor that taught it to me - duh!
For example: Negligence.
Negligence = Nemo.
Here's a rule I keep forgetting: duties to known/anticipated trespassers and social guests (licensees) are the same.
You know what this makes me think of? When Marlin and Dory accidentally came across Bruce and his friends. They ended up as social guests but they were also known/anticipated trespassors.
What's the duty? To warn of known dangers.
The other duty I have to remember is to invitees (business guests)
Invitees are here for business purposes. Kind of like when Nemo was placed in the tank with the other fish at the dentist's office.
What's the duty? Well whenever I think of these fish, I think of when Nemo saw Gil for the first time and winced at his scars.
Duty to: warn, INspect, make Safe = WInS
So there it is - my crazy memorization technique. The funny part is, even if you have to stretch your imagination to think of something, sometimes going through the process itself is enough for whatever you came up with to stick in your head.
Let me know if any of you try this/end up finding it helpful :)

Pi
I'm trying to memorize 150 digits of pi by Pi Day (March 14th). So far, I've got:
3.1415926535 8979323846 2643383279 5028841971 6939937510 5820974944 5923078164 0628620899 8628034825 3421170679 84128_____ 3282306647 08... yeah, that's all I've got.
Checking my work... 84128_____ was actually 8214808651, and 08... was actually 0938446095 5058223172 5359408128... I'm getting close.
What hobby do you have that no one else understands?

I've been thinking about how different people process large amounts of information.
This was something I was decently good at as a kid; school worked for me! But now, when the boundaries are more amorphous and I'm in charge of defining what I need to know and figuring out how to break it down, my ND brain doesn't always know where to start.
In fact, I don't have an efficient system for myself.
But I do have something that works for me, assuming I have the time I need.
First, I gather the info. This part is fun, especially if I'm dealing with a special interest. Deep dive, infodump into notes or at my husband or whatever.
Then, I organize it. I might type it up; I might make notecards. I might just put all that info into boxes in my mind. Depends on what I'm working on.
Once it's organized, I reorganize it.
Over and over until it sticks.
Here, like this:
I've been working on prepping for Gen Con. I'm running games for a publisher, and I have a lot of info to absorb and then teach in a limited amount of time.
I picked the pieces I can be strongest with. That took me a bit, but once I realized what I could be good at, I could somewhat release the other stuff. Nobody can do everything, especially on a tight schedule.
Then I started making notecards. I wrote the name of an action, rule, or ability on one side and its definition or effects on the opposite.
The first time I made the cards, I wrote the name in pencil and the definition/effects in black pen.
Next, I alphabetized them. That helped me make sure I had everything I needed, but it also got me familiar with the most important terms that will come up while I'm trying to run monsters or handle questions.
I split these cards into categories next. Combat actions, reactions, natural abilities, passive abilities, etc. I shuffled through the categories a few times until I had a reasonable number of cards in each one. I didn't want to have a category with just 1 or 2 cards in it.
Now I'm color coding the name side based on category. I'm erasing the penciled-in name and replacing it with Sharpie pen. Brown for general rules, for example. Purple for magic. And so on.
As I do that, I'm reading the back of each card out loud. Then, when I finish a category, I alphabetize it back into the main flashcard deck. When I put the card in its place, I quiz myself on the effects. It's working. By the time I'm done with this round of organizing, I'll have half of these cards memorized. Maybe more.
I tried to do this in high school with court cases for a mock Congress competition. Didn't have the executive function to make it work for me. Couldn't figure out when I had enough info, and I had far too much to memorize by the time I switched to organizing.
So it may be slow, but it's progress. And I'm happy with that!

@coriander-cilantro @moontoast2000
Dear people living on your own for the first time:
Here’s some advice I wasn’t told from the myriad of posts before that I wish I’d been given before
Wash the OUTSIDE of your pots and pans as well as the cooking surface. I’ve had a few roommates now who have only cleaned the inside and I’ve had to replace a $150 set of cookware twice.
“its only one time, how bad could using metal on nonstick cookware really be?” very bad. don’t do this.
Buy a rice cooker. Buy the middle tier rice cooker. Cheap ones will burn your rice, high tier ones are too expensive. Rice is good and cheap and, really, you don’t actually have to wash it if you don’t care about making gourmet food.
Buy band-aids. You don’t think you need band-ads until you need a band-aid, and by then it’s too late. (if you don’t follow this advice, a paper towel and some tape is an acceptable solution while you go get real bandages and neosporin)
You are on tumblr, which means you probably spend most of your time in one spot on a computer or phone. if this spot doesn’t have a trash can in arm’s reach, put one there.
I spent 4 years piling trash on my desk in increasingly precarious ways until I had a designated area to put it. Trash cans can and should go anywhere there is a frequent generation of trash, typical locations be damned.
If you live with one or two roommates, discuss placing empty boxes in the back of your fridge and freezer. You probably don’t need all the space that the standard 5-person-family fridge provides, and tupperware will be shoved back there and left to stink up the entire appliance.
Get a wall calendar, put it somewhere communal, and have everyone put their household-relevant schedules on it. Communication is by far the weakest link with roommates (even good ones!) and having something to reference for appointments is always good

BIBLE STUDY 101
Fill in the blanks and memorize your doctrine. The words are inspired by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. These are words we should not ignore, and words we cannot live without. How can we walk in faith if we do not know and understand the words in their context. They ought to live in our soul, wash our mind, and give us hope. So, let us study them diligently. AMEN!
