I know we will get answers in a couple of days but,
When the hell is 2.3 taking place?
Willow's character ref or a newspaper referring to her says her era is the 1930s
The first full scale version of Swan Lake was performed in London in 1934
The Great Smog of London happened in 1952 (Oliver Fog's dad died in 1952)
The Olympics were held in Melbourne (Australia in 1952) but the Paralympics were also created around this time
Theres a newspaper claiming the Qualifiers were shutdown because of war, the Olympics in London were held instead in 1948 nicknamed the Austerity Games.
The Uluru Games were cancelled by the Foundation by the 1970s then revitalised by Ulu and Spathodea in the 1990s.
The appearance of Tooth Fairy and Madam Z who are both from the "present day" (I use this very loosely) and describe the Games in present and in plural, even though it is likely a few months since 1.5 since we know its after 1.9.
Tooth Fairy and Z refer to Willow in almost both past and present so Im assuming we are actually in 2007/8 (I don't remember the exact date) - of course Willow already has a record in the Uluru Games, recorded already in history. London has been reverted to an era where Willow and Mr Fog were still alive, so Tooth Fairy in a sense interferes here with the original timeline.
Side note how soft TF's expression in talking to Z about Willow (like really look how fondly TF describes Willow I can ship it?).
I have the running idea that the Games in Australia because the Stadium is immune and now under Spathodea means they can call upon new qualifiers like Willow, however for Willow it looks like the Games simply continuing as for her (either 30s or 50s or 40s) the Games had been only in decline.
(Also Willow's trailer showed that already for 10 years shes had a 'broken leg', and theres this mention of a rival who is probably the person in the Ult and I will talk about Swan Lake in reference to them)
None of this is CN spoilers because truly I do not know where or rather when this is happening??

Landfill Gas: A Hidden Threat and Untapped Resource
Landfill gas (LFG) is a byproduct of decomposing waste in landfills. It is a mixture of gases, including methane, carbon dioxide, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). While LFG can pose environmental risks, it can also be harnessed as a valuable energy resource.
The Environmental Impact of Landfill Gas
LFG can migrate from landfills and contribute to various environmental problems, including:
Air quality issues: LFG emissions can contribute to smog and other air quality problems. Methane, a major component of LFG, is a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change.
Risk of explosion: LFG is flammable and can accumulate in confined spaces, posing an explosion hazard.
Landfill Gas Management and Mitigation Strategies
Fortunately, there are strategies to manage and mitigate the environmental impacts of LFG:
Landfill gas collection and flaring: LFG can be collected from landfills through a network of wells and pipes. The collected gas is then burned in a flare, which converts it into harmless water vapor and carbon dioxide.
Landfill gas utilization: LFG can be a valuable source of renewable energy. It can be processed and used to generate electricity, heat homes and buildings, or power vehicles.
Benefits of Landfill Gas Utilization
Utilizing LFG offers several advantages:
Reduced greenhouse gas emissions: By capturing and using LFG for energy, we can significantly reduce methane emissions from landfills and mitigate climate change.
Renewable energy source: LFG provides a renewable and sustainable source of energy, helping to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
Cost-effective waste management: LFG utilization can help offset the operational costs of landfills.

The Growing Concern Over EMF Pollution Protection in Melbourne
Tumblr media
With our increasing reliance on electronic devices, EMF (electromagnetic field) pollution is a growing issue in many cities, including Melbourne. EMFs come from multiple sources like mobile phones, WiFi, Bluetooth, power lines, and even home appliances. Prolonged exposure to EMF radiation has been linked to increased health risks by several studies. As a result, more Melburnians are looking for solutions to reduce EMF exposure - a trend known as EMF pollution protection.
What are the Health Risks of EMF Pollution?
Excessive EMF exposure has been associated with increased chances of cancer, insomnia, headaches, and nausea. The World Health Organization has classified high electromagnetic frequency radiation as a possible carcinogen. Other studies have found EMFs may disrupt cell metabolism and increase free radicals in the body. The long-term effects of constant EMF exposure are still being investigated. However, we know that children and pregnant women are more vulnerable.
Where is EMF Pollution Most Prevalent in Melbourne?
Most EMF radiation comes from our electronic devices at home which means indoor areas near electronics see higher EMF levels. WiFi routers, smartphones, baby monitors, Bluetooth devices, and laptops are common culprits. High EMF areas include bedrooms (with devices kept close to beds), office spaces with multiple tech devices, and living rooms. Outdoor EMF sources include mobile towers, overhead power lines, and smart meters.
Tips to Reduce EMF Exposure at Home
Luckily, there are several easy changes you can make at home to protect yourself from EMF pollution:
Keep your distance - Maintain at least one meter distance from devices when in use. Avoid sleeping with phones and gadgets near your bed.
Rely on wired connections - Use cabled ethernet connections for internet instead of WiFi when possible.
Limit device usage - Reduce use of smartphones, tablets and other electronics to minimize overall exposure.
Advanced EMF Pollution Protection Solutions
For more heavy-duty EMF pollution protection Melbourne residents can turn to EMF shielding and harmonizing technologies like:
EMF Solution - They offer high quality EMF protection products like shielding paints, window films, EMF reducing canopies, and more. Experts assess your home and customize solutions.
Smart meter covers - Special covers block excess EMFs from smart meters.
EMF shielding fabrics - Use in curtains, canopy beds, and drapes to reduce EMF penetration.
The growing research on EMF pollution should make us more conscious of the invisible electronic smog in modern homes. With smart solutions such as those offered by EMF pollution protection Melbourne experts, you can reduce exposure and make your home a safe sanctuary.

i thought it might be nice to do ~progress reports on whatever i’m doing in cities skylines since i just started a new city. i’ve never done it before but idk i think it might be nice one day to look back at how the city grew. assuming i stick with this one lol
soooo, last night:
Tumblr media
i did some roads leading up to the Hills (haha) suburbs, which will be like, the eastern suburbs here. so the side closer to the city (the bottom part) will be richer people, and the part at the top will be poorer people because they’ll be close to the airport and industry. where the small roundabout is, i’m thinking of turning it into industry (as well as a bus and tram depot (and garbage/recycling)), esp once i get rid of the industrial smog crap on the ground. because lbr irl the kind of industrial things you find around... idk, sydenham and silverwater etc, isn’t that pollute-y on the environment
Tumblr media
am still working out the city/capital! i’m going for a melbourne grid vibe this time
Tumblr media
i just think the rocks are fancy/more realistic than what i’ve done previously
Tumblr media
city stuff/attractions all not connected yet. or laid out. or put in parks, idki just threw down some nice ones and i’ll figure it out later
and finally (i probably spent the most time on this lol), i added to an already fancy trumpet interchange so that trucks etc can get to the cargo port easily!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i’ll fill the circles in with trees/grass/idk later, when it’s all finalised, because i’m sure i’ll still be adding more ramps to it
anyway that’s all for now~

The Falcon and The Flame
An original story about my father
I questioned my father as he flicked a cigarette out the window of the old Falcon, the smoke corrupting my young lungs in the process. The stereo he installed into the console played Australian rock classics with some Michael and Prince thrown in for good measure. He cleared his throat, his thick bogan accent telling a story that is blatantly not true.
“When I was a boy, right,” he paused as he rolled another cigarette, “everyone rode their bikes everywhere. If ‘ya didn’t ride ‘ya bike, then you walked. If ‘ya had to walk, we didn’t like ‘ya.”
I wasn’t sure if his unorthodox story had a point, but to be fair I don’t think he had come to it yet either.
“What I’m trying to say, Bug,” he continued, taking a draw from his cigarette first, “is that riding your bike is an advantage that some don’t have, so ‘ya better be bloody good at it.” He laughed at himself, not really sure what his own point was. I shifted uncomfortably in the leather seats that my legs stuck to in hot weather and watched the road ahead.
My father is a strange man. Short in stature with sun damaged skin from years of labour in the sun. His bottom lip hangs low and he’s a devout believer in whatever the radio tells him. He didn’t receive past a Year 10 education and he enjoys the simple things in life. I often reminisce on our old car rides together; he would give me some inspirational advice followed by a foggy retelling of a childhood memory. I would brush off his religious ideas he forced as he brushed off my left-wing politics.
I spent a lot of my childhood in heavy smog from my chain-smoking father. He carried around Tally-Ho papers in red cardboard and kept his tobacco in a metal tin. He would rest his wrists on the wheel and lick one side of the paper, filling it with the tobacco and rolling it, sealing it down on the damp side. I was always bewildered by this, how he managed to keep the old Falcon steady on the road as he did it.
When I was 10, my father took me to Rockabilly dance lessons. We spent our Thursday nights dancing to Elvis and laughing about the absurdity of it all. Afterwards, we would walk to the lake as he lit another cigarette. I always wondered why he would poison himself with these things, but I never asked; I don’t think he knew either.
So, when my father moved away to Melbourne, the fog cleared up. I spent my days in his big leather chair in the lounge room he’d frequently kick us off of. The world seemed quieter, softer. My bike sat rusted in the shed he abandoned along with the woodwork projects we started and never finished. Despite the lack of fog, my head stayed clouded.
I guess you never really lose somebody. My denim jacket stunk of that hand rolled tobacco kept in the metal tin. The bottom of the laundry basket was filled with his odd socks we could never be bothered to fold. The bathroom cabinet still held his old steel razor surrounded with Astra refills.
But yet when he returned from Melbourne, he was smoking pre-rolled, orange filtered cigarettes. My young lungs now black from the fog he left behind, the old Falcon being sold online. My father is a strange man.

Landfill Gas Risk Assessment: Protecting Our Environment and Communities
Landfills are a necessary part of our waste management infrastructure. However, they can also pose a risk to the environment and human health if not properly managed. Landfill gas (LFG) is a byproduct of decomposing waste in landfills. It is a mixture of gases, including methane, carbon dioxide, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). LFG can migrate from landfills and pose a number of risks, including:
Fire and explosion hazards: LFG is flammable and can explode if it accumulates in confined spaces.
Air quality impacts: LFG can contribute to smog and other air quality problems.
Health risks: Exposure to LFG can cause a variety of health problems, including respiratory problems, headaches, and nausea.
Landfill gas risk assessment is an important process for identifying and mitigating the risks associated with LFG. A landfill gas risk assessment typically involves:
Site characterization: This involves collecting data on the landfill, such as its size, age, and waste types.
LFG monitoring: This involves installing wells and other monitoring devices to measure LFG levels in and around the landfill.
Risk modeling: This involves using computer models to predict how LFG will migrate from the landfill and what the potential impacts will be.
The results of a landfill gas risk assessment can be used to develop a landfill gas management plan. A landfill gas management plan typically includes measures to:
Control LFG migration: This can involve installing barriers around the landfill to prevent LFG from migrating off-site.
Collect and flare LFG: This involves collecting LFG from the landfill and burning it in a flare to destroy it.
Utilize LFG for energy: LFG can be used as a fuel source to generate electricity or heat.
Landfill gas risk assessment is an important tool for protecting our environment and communities from the risks associated with LFG. By properly assessing and managing LFG risks, we can ensure that landfills are operated safely and sustainably.

Thank you to those who reached out with concern. I live in Melbourne and we didn't really start experiencing the bushfire smoke till New Years Day, luckily no bushfires. Today it is raining in the city but the smog is still pretty bad, when you breathe in there's smoke. If you want to do something to help please consider donating to your local volunteer fire fighters in Australia or to https://ift.tt/2D9LoqT to help conserve what little wildlife we have left that has been affected by the fires. posted on Instagram - https://ift.tt/2sOLG5W

Bushfires 2020
It’s been hard to pull away from the news lately. And some of the very iconic images now, that are now a symbol of both this summer (which isn’t half way done) and climate change. More posting for myself to remember later.
A good/brief summary or run down can be found on the BBC news website here.
Tumblr media
Source of image
There is the sense that this is the new normal that we’ll both have to adapt to. It’s not only been reported that government and scientists knew, but the fire chiefs had warned about it a while ago.
The summers were getting warmer each year. Last year there were reports of record breaking temperatures in the 40s. Same thing occurred this year, but with less rain. Penrith had a documented 48.9, which is not normal. Well, not previously.
The press isn’t exaggerating when it says it has never happened before, no one seen anything like this. Mass evacuations via navy, millions of hectares lost, half a billion animals gone. Summer isn’t half way yet.
Apart from locals losing their homes, many Australians drive to those coastal regions for summer vacation - particularly over Christmas and New Year. It’s an important source of local economy and provider for tourism, it’s tradition.
Tumblr media
Source of image
Smog and hazardous air quality in cities - Canberra and Sydney are also new. Melbourne’s also recently joined them.
the capital made the news for having some of the worst air quality in the world. it lead to shut down of multiple federal departments and the Australian National University.
Tumblr media
THe smog’s also affected New Zealand - it’s turned their sky and ice caps orange.
Tumblr media
Reminds me of the episode in netflix’s the Crown. Only after days of devastation by the 1952 London Smog did the government react with new policy. Similarly the Australian government on the national level lags behind in any meaningful policy.
It’s weird watching it all unfold in “real time”, so many firsts this summer. Every day is also followed by a strange new action or statement coming from the leader of a developed country. Like announcing on twitter that he’s released the defence reserves..without consulting anyone, particularly not the actual emergency services commissioner, just the guy coordinating everything. Or lying that the states and the commissioner has declined federal help when they actually hadn’t. Then announcing a recovery scheme..when summer isn’t nearly over yet, that’s after forcing a couple of people to shake his hand when they asked for more funding for the rural fire service.
What the prime minister has succeeded in, is providing some entertainment in very ironic fashion. We could all do with some humour - even if it wasn’t what he meant to accomplish.
Tumblr media
Source
This was in response to:
Morrison said those confronting the terrifyingly destructive and deadly fires will be "inspired by the great feats of our cricketers from both sides of the Tasman".
from the Sydney Morning Herald.
His trip to Hawaii midst crisis has made him iconic.
Sometimes, all you can really do is laugh, because it can always be worse. I think we’ve had worse leadership before. At least he is scrambling when criticised to take action, even though it’s painful to watch.
Tumblr media
We’re in the midst of populism and social conservatism everywhere lately, Australia being no different. However, generally we have a milder version.
Embarrassingly, Tony Abbott, a former prime minister went on the news in Israel to further deny climate change, and instead proclaim we’re in the grip of a climate cult. It was shocking to Israel and perhaps the rest of the world - but Abbott’s been expressing his sentiments even before he was elected.
MP Craig Kelly, another climate change denier, was interviewed on Good Morning Britain, where he was scathingly received. He was told:
“You have the second highest carbon emissions per person on Earth and you are burying your head in the sand. You aren’t a climate sceptic, you are a climate denier,” Tobin [a meterologist] said.
“You are facing now one of the greatest crises you have ever faced, and there is you Mr Kelly, with respect, a senior politician who still doesn’t think this has anything to do with a heating-up planet,” [Piers] Morgan said.
“And for senior politicians in Australia to still pretend there’s no connection is absolutely disgraceful.”
Will anything change? I suppose time will tell with another election - but so far, consistently, government after elected government has been right leaning. In other words, reluctant to do anything meaningful on climate change. And they get voted in, time after time.
As per one editorial, if they change their tone, it will not be to change policy on climate.
The final fallback and the final degradation will come, I predict, in the mid-2020s when the right abandons denialism completely, admits that climate change is catastrophic, but adds it’s far too late to do anything about it, which it may well be.
The last left leaning government (as only left leaning governments now act on climate change) was over 10 years ago. The former prime minister then has clearly made his thoughts known and then some.
And so we do enter a new normal, both politically and on the environmental one.

How Commercial Solar Installers Can Lower Your Business's Energy Bills
Tumblr media
Solar power is a great way to lower your business’s energy bills. It also supports a greener lifestyle and is an attractive investment option for many business owners.
Installing a commercial solar system in Melbourne can save businesses thousands of dollars a year in electricity costs. But choosing the right installer can be tricky.
Cost
Using solar power is an affordable, eco-friendly way to power your home or business. It is also a good investment that will pay for itself in the long run.
There are many commercial solar installers in Melbourne that offer affordable solutions. However, it is important to choose a reputable company that has experience and understands your location.
The solar industry is highly competitive, so you should ensure that you get the best price for your installation. You can check out SolarQuotes to see real-time prices for different capacities in your state.
Some of the top commercial solar installers in Melbourne include Sunrun Solar, Glen Clark & Co and Amazing Solar. These companies provide high-quality panels and inverters to customers. They also offer a range of incentives and rebates to help lower the cost of installing a solar system.
Energy Savings
Business owners in Melbourne pay a premium for electricity, which is why they often turn to commercial solar installers to make energy savings. By reducing their energy consumption through the use of solar panels, they can cut costs and avoid future increases in electricity prices.
A well-designed commercial solar power system can provide a clean and inexhaustible supply of energy for your company. Depending on your location and the amount of sunlight it receives, commercial systems can produce hundreds of kilowatt-hours of power per day.
In addition, the Australian government offers many incentives to help businesses make the switch to a more sustainable energy source. These include Small Scale Technology Certificates (STCs), which can reduce the cost of a commercial solar power system by up to 30%.
Environmental Benefits
When it comes to energy, solar panels are a cleaner, more sustainable option than traditional methods. This is because solar power plants do not release emissions like fossil fuels, which are a leading cause of global warming.
This is why it is important for commercial buildings to install solar panels, so they can benefit from a cleaner, more renewable power source. It also helps to make your business stand out from the competition and increase its brand image.
In addition, using a solar energy system will help to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and other harmful pollutants. These chemicals contribute to smog and are detrimental to the health of all living things.
Financing
There are a number of financing options available to commercial solar installers in Melbourne. Some of these include loans, leases, and third-party finance.
A loan is a safe and relatively easy way to finance a solar system. The disadvantage is that it often requires a good credit score, and may come with a high interest rate.
Many businesses are turning to solar because of the cost savings and environmental benefits it can offer them. They are also able to access a range of financial incentives including Small Scale Technology Certificates (or STCs) that provide cash rebate deductions on the cost of a solar system.
If you decide to get a solar system installed for your business, it is essential to find a reputable company. This should mean using a team of technicians that are local to your area. This should ensure that you have a quick response if you experience any issues with your new system and that you can get your questions answered quickly.
