Started Megas XLR recently and had to draw Grrkek the Planet Killer. He’s one of my favorite villains thus far, next to Magnanimous and Ender. Did a different art method this time around. A rough sketch, then I used the oil paint brush

Number 9 of my Junimation Countdown: Megas XLR

If you dig giant robots with action and comedy, this might be the perfect show. This series created by Jody Schaeffer and George Kristic had a total of 26 episodes over 2 seasons starting on the 1st of May 2004 and airing their last episode on the 15th of January 2005.

The Story is about Jersey guy, car fanatic, mechanic, hot-dog eating champion and gaming addict Coop who one day finds a massive robot in his local junkyard. But because the robot was so busted, Coop reworked it a bit more to his taste. The head gets replaced by a red sports car, changed its colour scheme, the controls became a giant gaming setup, changed some of the weapons,... But as he shows the end product to his friend Jamie, a woman named Kiva who claims to come from the future tries to get back Megas. As she fails and finds out Coop destroyed the time travel function, she has no choice but to leave Megas in Coop's hands.

Even though the Glorft are the main threat to our protagonists, this series is littered with all kinds of pop culture parodies on space and mecha series. And the rocking soundtrack of this show is a personal all-time favourite.
