Alright, so, I wrote something. I am remarkably proud of myself because I added drawings, and also memes. Please read my work solely for the memes. 

Here is an analysis on ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and how it presents in the novel, Not Wanted on the Voyage by Timothy Findley, and it goes over stuff like how: 

Several characters in the novel are, to varying degrees of intensity, autistic-coded. 

Several recurring themes in the novel would resonate very strongly with an autistic audience (me. I am the autistic audience) 

The various environments presented in the novel and their cultural differences are very interesting when used in an autistic reading of the book. 

Other books that I wrote about in this analysis are the Pat of Silver Bush books, the Emily of New Moon books, and Anne of Green Gables, all by L.M. Montgomery! I talk about how all three series have very, very autistic-coded protagonists. I love them all. 

This read would be useful if you’re looking for character analysis and an examination of the social structures in the setting of Not Wanted on the Voyage. It is published on two platforms, both with their pros and cons.

I've Joined Two More Writing Websites.

I recently decided to take the leap and join Medium and Vocal Media, which have both been added to my Linktree. I’m grateful to be a freelance writer. I love what I do, and I enjoy working with my clients. But sometimes, I need a creative outlet to just express myself and interact with others. I can do just that on Medium and Vocal Media. Now, I don’t expect to make bank on either website (I was just accepted into the Medium Partner Program and Vocal Media pays per view. I’ll have to elaborate on each website at some point). It would be a nice little side hustle; spare change to add to my savings account. However, I know that’s going to take time to get to that point. I’ve been freelance writing since 2009, so this isn’t my first rodeo. I took my time gaining followers on Medium, so I can take my time with earning on both websites. Right now, I’m enjoying having other places to share my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. :) And hey, maybe I’ll make some new friends! I don’t really have a lot of friends in the writing community because it’s not something I thought or knew to branch out in, so maybe that’ll change on these websites.

One of the paradoxes of the modern internet is that I genuinely understand sites need to get revenue somewhere, and while I don't love ads I'm actually okay seeing relatively unintrusive ads on a free site, hearing words from sponsors, etc.

But the modern internet is so full of modal popups and video ads on autoplay and trackers that using it without an adblocker is basically impossible, so everything gets blocked.

I always thought she was a cool character in the movies with neat armor, but this book really made her terrifying. I thoroughly enjoyed it. With that said, I basically ruined my writing career by talking about something controversial, and even in a joking-parody-like manner, like I wasn't even serious. I was a film critic for god's sakes. That's basically all I wrote about. This was just one shitty little shit-filled shit-stained article about how Buzz Aldrin said in an interview that nobody went to the moon in 1969.

I didn't even mention any of the stuff about how Neil Armstrong refused to swear on the Bible that they went there, I did joke about how Stanley Kubrick worked on the footage for the telecast only a year after they made Space Odyssey: 2001. But I wasn't making an actual case for it.

Anyways, don't they fucking ban me? Like outright. All my followers, all my articles, film reviews, hard work, etc, just gone. But get this. Before they ban me, they send me an email telling me I'm in the Top 100 Writers on the website. They send me thousands of dollars. They send me not ONE but TWO freaking awards for the article. And then poof. Banned, and actively "investigating me for harmful conspiracy theories," their words.

Honestly, suspect.

Alas, I'm back on Medium after two years.

Idk who needs to hear this but...write. Write about things you enjoy. About things that are "problematic". Write about controversial topics and non-controversial topics and if it's about a topic you don't know much about but you want to write about it then do your research, talk with people who know more on the subject, who live through it, but WRITE. Care about what you are creating, put love and emotion in it but don't let ANYONE gatekeep creating something that will make you happy.
