THE RINGS OF POWER/THE HOBBIT HEADCANON
Médhor was born in a small village in the Greenwood. A month after he enlisted and left for Tirharad, his lover discovered she was pregnant; he never knew he had become a father. Through his child, he is a direct ancestor of Feren, one of the guards of King Thranduil.

Conversation
Médhor: We're gonna die.
Arondir: We're not gonna die. We can't die, Médhor. You know why? Because we are so... very... pretty. We are just too pretty for Eru to let us die. Huh? Look at that chiseled jaw!

The Elven custom of planting Alfirin seeds and the Elves who planted them.
We know the custom of planting Alfirin seeds is done before and after battle. It meant a promise of new life in defiance of death but as said in S2 E2, it carries the same meaning as the reaping what you sow.
3 Elves were shown doing this custom: Arondir, Adar and Galadriel
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These characters are tragically facing the consequences of their choices:
•Galadriel, turned Valinor away and helped Sauron return •Arondir, for loving Bronwyn. Medhor warned him about the consequences of human-elf affairs. •Adar, and the cost of his children's freedom
However, I remain optimistic about the characters who planted the seeds. Arondir explained the custom of planting the seeds to Bronwyn:
"It is believed that one of the Valar watches over all growing things and those who tend to them."
Those who tend/planted them. Which were Arondir, Adar and Galadriel
This why I believe Arondir will live, so will Adar this end of the season.
They have planted good deeds in their hearts, even when they're overshadowed by darkness.

Hi! May I send you a random ask?
I noticed your recent post about Arondir. The show doesn't tell us very much about his life. Do you have any headcanons about him?
Hope you have a great weekend!
Hello!
Yes, of course you can send me a random ask! Especially if it's about cinnamon roll Arondir.
Some of my headcanons about him, in no particular order:
-He as an only child.
-Even by Sindar standards, he has always been a bit of a loner, perfectly content with his own company and some plants.
-He's seen Galadriel a couple times before the battle in the Southlands. Once during the War of Wrath, rallying troops for a renewed assault, and once after Beleriand was destroyed, organizing and leading refugees to safety. (Side note: I absolutely love that when he tells Theo her name, he uses the Sindarin pronunciation, a soft "dh" (in linguistics, called the "breathy d" yes really) sound rather than the harder dental stop "d". It's such a subtle difference but Ismael nailed it. Real talk, I would watch an entire season of Ismael Cruz Cordova and Morfydd Clark speaking to each other in any of the Elvish languages.)
-He fell for Bronwyn like 2.5 seconds after meeting her (this is also Ismael Cruz Cordova's headcanon). He saw her working in her garden, singing to herself, and it was the first thing he'd seen in years and years that reminded him of his lost home. The next time he saw her, she was treating a patient and was so gentle and kind. And he was just a goner. She was a young newlywed; by the time Arondir came back through, her husband was gone and everyone was gossiping about why.
-Obviously he was hesitant to try having a normal conversation with her, because he's a quiet person in general and also she's a Southlander human. He's not really supposed to make friends with them. So for weeks or maybe months, he would just leave bundles of helpful and/or rare herbs where she'd find them. Like near her house or at the well behind the tavern.
-Eventually he worked up the courage to talk to her. He asked her a question about something she was making. Or maybe Bronwyn was the first to start a conversation, confronting him about why he was leaving things around her house but not talking to her.
-Sometimes they'd run into each other when she was in the fields and the woods, harvesting plants. They would talk about plants and healing and other things while Medhor followed at a distance, occasionally trying to give Arondir significant looks, which Arondir completely ignored.
-Arondir and Medhor are pretty close. I think Medhor would have to care about Arondir more than a little to keep his relationship with Bronywn a secret. I like to think Medhor saw Arondir on his own a lot and took it upon himself to integrate Arondir into the rest of the group stationed at the Ostirith watch tower. Like Medhor just sat next to him at dinner one night and started talking and he's never shut up since. Arondir is generally fine with his chatter. He likes to keep a mental timer of how long it takes before Medhor changes topic. It's usually under a minute.
-He really likes spicy food. He really really likes watching Medhor try and fail to eat food as spicy as Arondir eats it.
-Much like Samwise Gamgee, all Arondir wants is a bit of peace and quiet and good tilled earth to tend with the people he loves. AND HE DESERVES IT. HE DESERVES IT SO MUCH.

❛  what makes you think i’m going to help you ?  ❜  (from médhor to nyssa) from @kingdom-of-vanity
Tumblr media
“Because you adore me so.” Nyssa held the massive slab of meat in her arms, the blood staining the sleeves of her dress or dripping down to the ground. “Please, Medhor. The dragons are hungry, and you know what happened the last time they missed a meal.” They were lucky that they’d managed to keep the dragons from reaching the towns in the Southlands, but she didn’t want to risk it again. “It’s either you or Arondir, and he’s gone off on patrol.”
Although her family was once a powerful ruling clan in the Rhun, they had decided to leave to avoid the growing conflicts coming from the other clans. They ended up becoming allies with the Elves that came from Valinor, their dragons offering much-needed firepower to deal with the Orcs. Nyssa was the last of that family, her brothers having died during the last war, and the alliance with the Elves was still intact. Instead of staying with the other elves in their grand capital, she’d chosen to stay with the marchwardens near the Southlands, mainly for its location. There were four dragons in her care, the largest being big and tall enough to poke its head out from behind the wall. However, they were all familiar with Elves and Men, so unless they were starving or cruelly provoked, they had no reason to attack anyone. Nyssa gestured at the other slabs of meat that she planned on feeding to the dragons before turning back to him. “I can treat you to a round of drinks afterward, if you want.”

@kingdom-of-vanity gets a starter || Raina and Medhor
It had been an unusually quiet evening that night at the Black Rose Inn. The lovely innkeeper had been washing tables as a few patrons sat at the bar or headed up to their rooms. Normally, nights would be rowdy and boisterous but something seemed different in the air.
Raina was a very perceptive woman. She had to be to run an inn and keep her guests happy. The soft pitter-patter of rain almost echoed throughout the inn as she tucked her rag away to head back to the bar. It was then that she heard the door open and immediately stopped to see who would enter. The moment an elf walked through her doors however, caused her to purse her lips and hum lightly.
Tumblr media
"Welcome in, we don't get many elves around here," In fact they got none at all which is why she was so surprised. "How can I help you this evening, sir?" Raina gave a small smile then.

Thank you! <3
Favorite side character?
MEDHOR MY BELOVED!! He (pictured left below) was so great, I loved the brief moments we got between him and Arondir. Look at him, he had the best reactions to everything, what a guy...rip to a real one.
Tumblr media
What is your nOTP?
Hmmmm so I don't have any ships for this show that I dislike full stop, but I don't love the prevalent fanon interpretation of a few ships. This tends to happen with M/F ships, oftentimes the female character is turned into a blank slate to function as a self-insert (at which point…just write reader x fic) or turned into a shrinking violet without goals or problems of her own, whose sole function is to provide the male character with the happiness he "deserves." But at the end of the day it's a personal preference for fandom characterization, not inherent to the relationship itself as depicted in the show.
Favorite one on one conversation?
Galadriel's convo with Elendil re: boat thievery in ep 3 is still a fave. Lloyd and Morfydd have such great chemistry, Elendil is so charming and steady, it's the first time he and Galadriel speak Quenya together, and Galadriel practically sparkles…plus…KNIFE. It's a great scene, I still smile every time I watch it.
Tumblr media
If you could ask any of the characters a question what would that question be?
I think I would ask Eärien about her art and her career plans and what she wants out of life, poor girl is neglected!! And if she wants to make out during the course of the conversation, so be it

“It was all my fault though I envy your snack. I hope it was as good as i could have imagined.”
Having taken the white liquid from her lip with the slightest rub he could tell that the person was well fed as it was thick. He didn’t dare give it a taste as the prey wasn’t his the liquid offered as a sacrifice to his power. He could only look around and he saw the King. With a smile, he had to admit that her taste was amazing King Medhor the most powerful man in the land. Having heard about the family and their roots in Middle earth and was forced to smirk more.
“ I believe that  I need to apologize again I still haven’t introduced myself. I am Ricardo De Medici Prince of Kemet...Who do I have the honor of speaking with?”
Myth: Life In A Royal Court.

Médhor: So, you and Bronwyn are quite the dynamic duo. Are you? Arondir: I don’t know. Sometimes it feels like we’re going to get back together, but then… Médhor: Personally, I think you’re endgame. Arondir: Endgame? Médhor: Oh yeah, but it doesn’t really matter what I think. Maybe you should ask her what she thinks?

“My point is this. Only twice in known history has a pairing between elves and humans even been attempted. And on each occasion, it ended in tragedy. It ended in death.”
- Médhor on the bridge of Ostirith, TROP ep 1
I wonder if Arondir remembers what Médhor said.
His love with Bronwyn did not cause anything so directly as, say, Beren and Luthien with the whole ‘steal a Silmaril from Morgoth’s crown so your dad will let us marry’ affair but the only reason Arondir is not caught with his company by Adar and the orcs is because he goes to visit Bronwyn. He only investigates the rot and finds the tunnels because of Bronwyn. His company is killed but he is spared only to deliver a message to the remaining people of the Southlands, and whilst he leads them valiantly their victory is false and they are almost slaughtered until the Numenoreans come and victory seems in hand again until Orodruin erupts and the Southlands are all but destroyed, leaving whatever few people remain homeless and injured.
The only reason he is still alive is because of Bronwyn but still tragedy and death followed.
