Yandere!Five/Reader.
wow how long has it been? two years since I wrote something for TUA? I still haven't rewatched it since I'm finally catching up with breaking bad but I hope I'll rewatch TUA next week or so. for some strange reason I feel that weird feeling like I need to come back to my fav fictional family with bread and milk and concentrate on it ughhh. when I rewatch it I will check that requests I had before for TUA and will finish them!
tw: yandere Five, unhealthy obsession, mentions of the reader's death, Five has ZERO moments of peace here, angst, controlling Five, mentions of Five's childhood, sort of happy ending?
I'm probably describing my thoughts sooo bad don't be mad please
Like we know, Reginald wasn't afraid to use his own «children» for every heroic mission. Bank robbery? He'll make a 14 year old kids deal with it. Some villains are trying to cause problems? Well, another time to test Number 1's leadership skills, no time for a happy childhood, kiddos! And that is basically what their life is.
Basically, the only source from which they can get the feeling of being needed, loved by the public, and recognized, if not by their father but by the citizens. Reginald trained them well, as long as there are 6 of them, they can deal with any kind of problem. I mean, come on, they're THE Hargreeves, one of the strongest people in the world who have unique superpowers, it's not like something might go wrong one day.
Five was always the most compatible member of the team, always trying to be the best. Despite only being the fifth in the ranking, it doesn't stop him from showing off every time he taunts another criminal, making them lose their minds in attempts to catch him.
It was another day when he and his siblings would find a criminal to deal with. Everything went smoothly, as Luther would discuss the plan with everyone. Klaus and Ben would be outside waiting for the signal, Allison and Luther would be the ones to distract the criminals from the hostages and Diego should disarm them before causing any serious trouble. Five would be the one who would save the hostages.
I think his abilities help the most in such situations. He can teleport any person away in just seconds and lead them into safety, no one would even notice. And if something happens, Five is capable enough to fight by himself.
You are the last hostage he protects now. He had already saved more than 10 people non-stop before, and for some reason, his powers refused to work. It's not like he is weak or something, no, no, just give him some time to catch his breath, and he will continue in a moment! He can't let someone see him like this, let alone let his father find out about this little problem.
He would huff and puff about it, probably imagining how Diego or Klaus were teasing him, how Five was losing his cool and accidentally forgetting how his own powers were working due to what a pretty little hostage Five talked to! And they're close to his age too, so it would be natural for his age to get shy and awkward in front of someone cute he found~! Well, at least it's exactly what he imagines hearing from Klaus after the mission.
Five wasn't quiet around people, usually. He enjoys talking with his siblings, well, with some of them—and he finds it amusing to toy with criminals.
For some reason, he is quiet around you.
Of course, he would try to reassure you that everything is fine, he is a good guy here, and soon enough, you would be safe. The only thing you have to do is just listen to him and follow his lead.
He didn't suspect everything, of course, and was so full of himself even at such an age, thinking nothing would go wrong. You were around his age, and naturally, despite being an arrogant little brat, he did find you quite cute. Maybe, if he had a different life, he would have approached you in different circumstances.
But Five learned the hard way that he's not the strongest and could never be the number one. He would never be able to save everyone. He just stopped paying attention for a one damn second, and the next thing he heard, was a gunshot. Five could feel your hand slipping away from his own, and he would look back just in time to see you almost stumbling, only to catch you in his own arms. Blood painted his dark blue uniform in red.
After that incident, Five became more obsessed with the idea of time travelling. If at first he wanted to prove to his father that he is capable of much more, to show that he's actually much better than everyone, this idea also feeds off his guilt. His first mistake, the only time he failed to do his task. And he just can't let go of it, no matter how much Viktor tries to tell him that it's really not his fault, that he couldn't predict it.
And then, during dinner, he runs away, despite Viktor silently begging him not to do it. Then he blinks again, again, and again, until it's nothing but ruins surrounding him. Until The Handler decides to pay him a visit, expect that he will probably be much more calculative and controlling. 40 years of being alone did it's horrible job on his mind, every day trying to survive while thinking about a possible way out of this situation. Maybe, if he makes much better calculations, he will actually succeed. But being away from humanity for so long makes him crave human contact, he already had that mannequin, Dolores, he could find, talking every day to her about how he actually missed his family, how he wants at least some kind of sick normalcy he had back in the academy. At least he had a place to live without worrying every day about his own survival.
During these moments, where he actually gives himself some time to be weak, he wonders would he still do this if you were still alive? Would he still risk everything just to make his father proud?
He didn't know much about you before. The police shortly said that day that one of the employees had a child in the building, and they were taken hostages by the villains. You were around his age, a young, probably promising student in your normal school, with caring parents and friends who worried about you. Something he craved deeply, even though he would have never admitted it.
When he couldn't have teleported you away safely, he led you through the second way out. He can tell you were scared. Of course, who wouldn't be? It's not like you were used to it. He isn't the gentlest person, more like focused on the business and how to end it all as fast as possible. But you were shaking mess, asking from time to time if it's safe or is actually everything okay? Five, in his some kind of nonchalant and gruff manner, would only nod, reassuring you that his siblings probably dealt with the villains by that time.
You looked so normal for him. You had no powers, no one made you train every day just to bend you into their high expectations, you didn't have to compete for someone's love and approval. You acted like he's just a normal person too, never bothering him with questions about his brothers or a sister, not trying to peek into some secret life of the Hargreeves family. Do you even know who he is?
Eventually, he can't remember who exactly started the dialogue. Was it you, who just wanted to talk about something so boring like your school life, or like that you probably skipped a few classes and missed a math test? Or was it him, remembering his trainings how he should try to make the worried and scared hostage less afraid by making a small talk with them? He's too old to remember every single detail. But he certainly remembered that he at least listened to what you said to him. That he was actually looking at you, giving you his full attention.
Maybe if he was born into a normal family, he would have had a chance to live that normal life with you. But that would be too kind to wish for, wasn't it? Now, that his hands are covered in blood of so many innocent people he had to kill, asking for a normal life is impossible. Even after taking hundreds of lives, he still can't understand why is the sight of yours in his hands any different? He thought he would be used to it by now. What kind of evil God makes him see it over and over again, in every goddamn timeline?
First, it was a villain killing you right in front of him. Second, it was the Swedes who killed you the next day they saw Five trying to talk to you. He almost lost his mind when he spotted you living near the same hotel where his siblings and he decided to stay. But once again, the more problems just followed, leading to another damn disaster to take you away.
When he lost his powers, he didn't know if he should feel relieved or more concerned about it. Of course, that means that he probably has to find Reginald, to get more answers about what the hell happened in this new universe. But that also meant that he finally has a chance to live like a normal person too. Like you did.
He was unfamiliar with this world. He felt lost, humiliated most of the time now that everyone treat him like he's actually younger than he is. At least people stopped treating him like a child, yet he still has to deal with someone underestimating him. He has to find a job, a place to live, for God's sake, how the hell is he going to live without any documents here?
The fate seemed to be connecting you two once again, as it seemed. You would meet him accidentally, one time you just saw him visiting a café you were working for and the same process would repeat again. This time, he would actually remember every single little detail. He would approach you first, carefully and as politely as he could. He still thinks that if he makes even the smallest mistake, he would experience your loss once again. This time he won't screw up, he would plan everything strictly to his scenario. Your meeting, your first date, your first 'I love you'. You might think he's just the most perfect guy you ever met, which actually... would not be so far from the truth? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I made a post about a side by side of Pen and Colin's first and last dance (so far) from S1 and S3 and now I'm drowning in the feels of it.
LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO LAST SHOTS
S1E1 - Vauxhall ball dance
Them being such babies. Them jumping around, utterly caught by the energy of the dance. This is the first dance that Pen ever has after she's come out in society and I want to say that this is the first time that she's actually seen Colin as a man after he "rescued her". This is when the rose-coloured tinted glasses are shining brightly on her face as she looks at this boy she grew up with dancing with her in public, laughing and holding her in his arms. This is the first time she was held by another man in her life (I don't think her dad was ever affectionate towards her). Her first physical encounter with a man and it's with Colin no less (Colin really is first in everything where Penelope is concerned).
Even though there is a closeness between her and Colin already at this time, there is always Eloise in the middle. We think that Eloise being away in S3 gave them a chance to be alone together but Pen's 1st season out in society actually also gave the first chance of being alone with Colin (and then Marina came and ruined it all).
I also want to note that Pen is utterly cute in this scene. Ladies aren't supposed to wear their hair out the way Pen has it here. This alone should have told us that she is a rebel but also of how invisible she is.
Last thing to note (and this maybe just because of editing or this very beautiful but challenging height difference these two have blocking wise) is that we don't really see their faces clearly (I checked the actual video and it really is shot like that). We're only meant to feel the amusement these two have over this brief dance and I'm sure Pen went home on Cloud 9, thinking about this dance over and over.
It was her first romantic core memory.
Now we go to this scene:
S3E8 - Dankworth - Finch ball dance (Butterfly dance)
I have so many feelings about this dance. Firstly, their hand size difference!
Their smiles! Them overcoming such a huge obstacle! Colin just blasting every other love confession I've seen on this show! Them accepting each other fully, finally seeing each other for who they are. Them now ready to fully embrace their married life. I could go on and on and I will.
Both looking so ridiculously happy in this slow, intimate dance. Both looking so sexy and powerful, showing their acceptance of their maturity. It took them a while and a whole angsty journey but watching them take each step towards each other spoke to my heart and soul deeply. Their smiles in this dance was such a treat after being subjected to heartbreak.
In comparison with the shot in S1E1, we see both from their heads to their body (heart) but behind other dancers. I'm just thinking that this is the director saying this now will be your POV of Pen and Colin-- at the start of living their lives openly.
(I'm feeling sleepy now but I want to finish this)
It is so rewarding to see the journey that Pen and Colin goes through. I've been rewatching all 3 seasons and catching the growth between these two is so fascinating. The parallels, the clues, the subtle performances that Nic and Luke have been presenting on the table since S1. All so overwhelming at times at how privileged I feel to see their story laid out so beautifully.
What a gift Pen and Colin's love story is. I love their love and I'll stay here just for a little bit.

Daily thread about BridgertonS3 and I want to talk about so many things: trauma, the power of representation, the wedding, that 4 second scene at the end, but my mind is still on the mirror scene... So, let's do part 2: I love everything, but every time I watch it (my rewatch count shall not be revealed) what captivates me the most are still Pen's expressions.
Again, I'm in absolute awe of Nicola and her talent, because this is the perfect mix between lust, desire, nerves and innocence. Her expressions, sounds, non verbal language... I can't stop watching it.
But I want to do a deep dive into her thoughts during the scene: I know a thing or two about yearning, and the idea of having the person I want most in the word, saying they love me and then making me seen what they see in me, I'd already pass out on the floor.
Knowing what we know about Pen, how she was treated and the obstacles tmshe has faced, I bet the being in front of a mirror with Colin, while they are about to become intimate, must be like a dream coming true, only better.
Of course there are nerves and agitation, but it's like going on a rollercoaster (for those who enjoy it), it's the adrenaline when you're about to go on stage, it's the out of the body experience that must come with be able to finally cross that bridge with the person you love most.
And I love that she is active in the experience as well. Asking for direction, being supported but without being passive. She desires this. Of course she does. But in a world where even now, women sexuality is often reduced and put on a pedestal, this is revolutionary. She likes being there with Colin. She's experiencing pleasure for the second time in her life and she loves it.
I can't get enough of her expression after the penetration. That split second in which you can see her thinking "oh, this is why people do this". How her entire body comes to life, and even in that moment, she is not passive.
She tries to get closer to Colin, lust in her eyes, the desire finally free to flow.
It was indeed perfect. And even the "can we do it again?" Is still laced with the feeling of discovery. She had a taste and now she wants more. As. She. Should.
And for us, the audience, it is captivating and incredibly powerful to see a woman enjoy herself and her lover, no question, no judgement, no conseguence, even when we know she is LW and this secret is still between them.
It is just a first time. Except, it's not just that. Because this has never been the standard for first time, and maybe Bridgerton can help change that. That, would be a feature indeed!
Ps: I saved so many gifs Idk who did what, if you recognize yours, write me and I'll credit you

i'll always look after you (part 2) (alessia russo x reader)
Your girlfriend is grumpy when she's sick. Part 1 here!
a/n: part 2 of the lessi sickfic! based on this request. i hope you like it! also big thank you to @wosoamazing for helping me out with the writer's block!!
-------
“I hate being sick,” your girlfriend grumbled, pouting. “It’s so boring.”
“I know, baby,” you said, giving her a quick kiss. “What did you get up to today?”
It was the third day of Alessia having to stay at home with an extremely stubborn cold. On the first day, she had almost enjoyed having a day off, using the day to sleep. On the second day, she started to get restless, annoyed by her own constant sniffling and coughing. Today, the third day, she was just downright grumpy. Your phone had been buzzing nonstop during training, making the other girls tease you about how bored Lessi clearly was.
“Nothing!” she exclaimed, throwing her arms up dramatically.
“Nothing?” you teased, raising an eyebrow. “You’ve just been lying here all day, not moving, not texting me, nothing?”
Your girlfriend rolled her eyes, crossing her arms and pouting again. “Okay, fine. I watched some tv, rewatched some old matches, maybe went for a small run, scrolled through instagram-”
“Wait, baby, did you just say you went for a run?” you asked incredulously.
“Maybe…”
You sighed, sitting down next to her on the sofa. “You know you’re meant to be resting.”
“I know, I just. I hate being sick,” she sniffed. “And I thought maybe a little run would be okay, just to get me moving, and into the fresh air, y’know?”
“I know, baby,” you said, pulling her in to lean against you. “How was it?”
“Awful!” she said, bottom lip quivering. “I got to the end of the road and then started coughing and couldn’t stop and had to come back home.”
Tears of frustration brimmed up in her eyes, threatening to spill over.
“Only a few more days, and then hopefully you’ll feel well enough to come back to training.” you tried to console her, but she pulled away.
“I do feel better, though! It’s just this stupid cough and this stupid runny nose and-” she said, tears starting to stream down her face, and she hiccuped as you pulled her into a tight hug. “I miss playing football and training with you and all the girls. I know it’s stupid, we spend so much time training and playing, but I still miss it.”
You nodded, your heart breaking for her. “It’s not stupid, baby, I promise. I know exactly what you mean.”
You sat quietly for a moment, the silence broken by occasional sniffs from Alessia.
“I have an idea,” you said, and she looked up at you. “What if we do some stretching together? I know it’s not the same, but at least you’ll be moving your body.”
She thought about it and then nodded, a small smile on her face. “Does that mean you’ll wear those leggings that make your bum look great?”
You chuckled, rolling your eyes. “I can do, if you want.”
“Yes please,” she said with a grin, and then quickly pouted. “I’m sick, remember? It would help make me feel better.”
“I was going to wear them anyway, you don’t have to play the sick card,” you laughed, getting up to go and get changed.
You kept the stretching session relatively easy, not wanting to push Lessi’s body further than necessary, especially when she really should have been resting. You could understand her restlessness though, you felt the same when you were sick. Afterwards, she leant over to give you a kiss, resting her forehead against yours.
“Thank you, baby,” she said softly. “You always know how to make me feel better.”
“Anything for you, my love,” you replied, your heart full.
The two of you spent the rest of the evening watching a film and cuddling, before heading to bed early, ignoring your girlfriend’s protests that she didn’t need any more rest. It paid off, however, when the next day she woke up and declared that she felt well enough to come back to training with you.
Being worried for her health, you tried to convince her to spend one last day at home. She kept you distracted with kisses and wandering hands until you realised that you had to get ready and leave now, otherwise you were going to be late. You didn’t have enough time to debate with her whether she should stay home or not anymore, so you gave up, making sure that she was bundled up in multiple layers so that if she was going to insist on going to training, at least her cold wouldn’t get any worse.
When you arrived at training, your teammates teased you for not having your girlfriend under control.
“Don’t blame her,” Lessi said with a grin and a wink. “I can be very convincing when I want to be.”
The team doctor was not impressed by her return, but begrudgingly agreed that she did seem healthy enough to participate in the morning gym session, and that they would see how she felt at lunch before deciding whether she was cleared for training on the pitch in the afternoon. You couldn’t help but smile at the look of relief on the blonde’s face as she entered the gym.
You were at the far end of the large hall, in the weight area, when you heard some coughing from the treadmills at the other end of the gym. You waited a beat, seeing whether the coughing would let up, but when it got worse you dropped the weights you were holding and rushed over.
Lessi was doubled over next to one of the treadmills, Kyra stood next to her with a hand on her back. You bent down beside her, rubbing her back gently, offering her a water bottle, but she was coughing too hard to take a sip.
“Shit, Ky, can you get the doctor?” you asked anxiously as your girlfriend stopped coughing long enough to take a quick breath but immediately started again. The Australian nodded before running out of the gym, returning a minute later with the team doctor. Lessi was still coughing, but not quite as badly as she had been.
“Right Alessia, I need you to try and take some deep breaths for me, okay?” the doctor said, placing a stethoscope against the blonde’s back. She nodded, trying to take a breath between coughs. “I’m just going to take a quick listen.”
You rubbed a thumb against the back of your girlfriend’s hand as the coughs subsided and she was able to breathe again, face pink from exertion. After a couple of breaths, the doctor removed the stethoscope and stepped back in front of her.
“It doesn’t sound too bad, but I’d like you to stop training for today, and take tomorrow off as well. And I’ll talk to Jonas about the game on Sunday, but you definitely shouldn’t be starting. Have you been drinking enough? Not just water, you need hot drinks as well. Cough drops couldn’t hurt either,” she said, and you watched Lessi’s face fall.
“Okay,” she said miserably. “But I can play on Sunday?”
“Come and see me on Sunday morning, and if you’re healthy, I’ll tell Jonas that my recommendation is that you can play as a sub, alright?”
The blonde nodded, chewing at her lip. After the doctor left, you pulled her into a tight hug.
“Can we go somewhere else?” she asked. You nodded, leading her into an empty equipment room nearby. Once the door was closed, she let her body sag and her face fall into her hands. “I just feel so stupid. I shouldn’t have pushed, I shouldn’t have tried to go for that run yesterday, I should have stayed home today, I just-”
“Oh, baby,” you said, quickly pulling her into another tight hug. You stayed like that for a minute until you felt her body soften against yours, her arms wrapped around you. “You’re not stupid. Anyone else probably would have done the same.”
Just then, a soft knock sounded at the door. It opened quietly to reveal Leah, poking her head through.
“Less, you okay?” she asked, a concerned look on her face.
Your girlfriend shrugged, then nodded. Leah raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms over her chest.
“Fine,” Lessi slumped down. “I’m still poorly, I guess.”
Leah sighed. “You have to take care of yourself,” she started. Her voice was stern, but kind, and when your girlfriend’s lower lip started to wobble and tears filled her eyes, the England captain pulled her into a tight hug. “I know you wanted to come back, but it’s important for you and for the team that you’re in full health. And it’ll be even longer until you’re back to full health if you push yourself too hard. Believe me, I know how hard it is. So, y/n is going to take you home, okay? We’re mostly done with training for today, so neither of you will miss too much.”
Lessi sniffed and nodded, wiping a tear away. “Okay, Lee. I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, Less,” Leah said, her eyes kind. She turned to you. “That okay with you, y/n?”
“Sure,” you nodded, taking your girlfriend’s hand. “Come on, trouble. Let’s get you home.”

Hi,
I'm new to this. I'm genuinely curious how johnlock fandom happened. I watched sherlock and didn't notice any chemistry between them. I'm just trying to understand. And how do you feel about Ben and Martin not liking each other in real life? Thanks.
Hello anon!
The Johnlock fandom was born long before BBC Sherlock aired. I think there was a speculation about them in the late 1800s but, obviously, talking about homosexuals was out of the question at the time. But the ship took off in 2010, when it all started.
I have met several people in the fandom who told me they didn't notice anything romantic between the two at first viewing, but then they had to change their minds with rewatches.
Now, it must be said that the characters themselves constantly imply that the two of them behave like a couple.
1. Mrs Hudson
From the first moment, in A Study in Pink, she believes that Sherlock has brought his new 'boyfriend' home.
In The Empty Hearse, she can't believe that John is now engaged to a woman.
"So soon after Sherlock?"
"Hmm... well, yes."
"What's his name?"
"It's a woman."
"A wOmAn?!?" and then she laughs. She sounds rather incredulous, perhaps believing he is moking her.
"You really have moved on, haven't you?"
2. Mycroft
Nobody knows Sherlock better than Mycroft. In A Study in Pink, when he meets John for the first time, he says: "Might we expect a happy announcement by the end of the week?" and literally Sherlock and John met the DAY BEFORE! Why would Mycroft bother stalking a poor army doctor if he doesn't believe that Sherlock could be attracted to him? 🤷🏼♀️
In The Final Problem, Mycroft already knew that Sherlock would sacrifice him and save John. Sherlock loves John more than Mycroft, AND HE'S HIS OWN BROTHER!
3. Angelo [the restaurant owner in A Study in Pink (although I prefer the one in the Unaired Pilot, better known as the Gay Pilot)].
Angelo has known Sherlock for years, and why would he make Sherlock attractive to John? "Hey, you know this macho guy got me out of prison?" "OH! Wait! I'll get you a phallus candle, that'll be very romantic. 🥰😍😛"
4. Donovan
In The Great Game, when Sherlock finds the abandoned car, Donovan says to John: "I see you're still hanging around him. Opposites attract, I suppose."
This one may not be the best example, but it's worth including.
5. Irene Adler
My God that woman. She's in love with Sherlock, and that's fine. Who wouldn't fall in love with Sherlock or his brain? But she also knows that Sherlock only has his heart set on John. In A Scandal in Belgravia, when they go to her house, she immediately says to Sherlock: "And somebody loves you. If I had to punch that face, I'd avoid your nose and teeth too."
Then, when John goes to Battersea and meets her, she asks: "Are you jealous?"
"We're not a couple."
"Yes, you are."
Again, she met them for literally 3 minutes and immediately realised it!
6. Mary
Mary should hate Sherlock to death (and I'm still convinced that she never liked Sherlock).
What was that proverb again? Respect the owner's dog for your own sake. It means: like the dog to please the owner. Or something like that.
In this case, the owner is John and the dog is Sherlock. It's obvious that at a certain point Mary starts shipping them, almost as if she doesn't really care about John.
7. Magnussen
In His Last Vow, Magnussen meets Sherlock and John for a few minutes, and immediately tells them: "You two are sooo domesticated." Later in the episode, he tells Sherlock that John is "your damsell in distress."
I hope this was exhaustive from Johnlock's point of view! Maybe try looking at it from another point of view and rewatch the whole serie. At that point, if you're still not convinced, it's okay, anon, we don't bite!
Moving on to Benedict and Martin... we all know that Martin has a particular character and that he has trouble getting along with literally anyone, but I don't believe the newspapers. They are journalists, they HAVE to cause a SCANDAL!! Otherwise no one would read them. They take sentences from a completely different context and pass them off as true. Take for example when it was said that Benedict had called Martin 'pathetic.'
There is a video of this interview. The presenter asked Benedict to drink tea the way Martin drinks it, Benedict imitates him and then says 'pathetic', but it is not strictly intended to refer to Martin.
I know for a fact that Martin took it out on Benedict when he got married to Sophie Hunter, just because he didn't invite Martin to his wedding. On the same day, Amanda reported Martin's tantrums on twitter!!! 🤣🤣
Anyway! Even if the rumors were true, it doesn't matter. It's their problem, not ours.
Yes, it may upset us as fans, but these two are real people in the real life.
I'll conclude with this. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me again! And anyone is welcome to comment on this or ask me anything. 👋🏻

RE headcanons again!
PART 2
This time I will add what animals I associate them with. Again I'll write a lot about some and just a little about others to supplement the last part.
Sherry Birkin
— It's hard to say what her favorite color is. She probably doesn't prefer any particular color, she likes dim palettes.
— I'm inclined to think that Sherry could have been Wesker's goddaughter. Birkins could have introduced him to her, and since Wesker has known William since childhood, he trusts him.
— She obviously attended NEST because Annette gave her a G-related pendant. Sherry probably had some instructions for emergency situations in which to use it, but kept it a secret. Chief Irons knew about the secret of the pendant, probably from William himself, because he was bribing Irons. And Wesker also knew about the pendant, it's in his first report.
— I recently rewatched all the clips of Sherry in re6 and noticed how reluctant she is to talk about Wesker every time the topic comes up. She never says anything bad about him, avoiding talking about him. I think that as a child, Wesker treated her well or seemed like a good person, but when she found out who he really was, she was deeply disappointed. She cherishes fond memories of this man, but keeps it a secret, because she will surely be convicted.
— Sherry calls Jake "Jake Wesker" instead of "Muller," even though she knows Wesker had nothing to do with his upbringing. Did she downplay the significance of Jake's mom? No, I would look at it this way. This is further proof that "Wesker" is not a negative word to her. She secretly treats him better than others treat him, so she called Jake by his last name with pride.
— In that moment when the runaway Jake and Sherry were changing clothes, they had a conflict. But I think Sherry was angry not only because Jake's words hurt the memory of her father, but also because they hurt the memory of Jake's father.
— Sherry was in government custody from 1998 to 2009. She was in custody mainly because of Wesker (file "A Deal with the United States" from re6). The government believed that Wesker needed a sample of the G-virus, but it was obvious that he had already gotten it through his own means. Perhaps this is a hint that there is some sort of connection between them after all. He could be her godfather who would want to return what was connected to him, or he wants to using her as research into how viruses are able to enter into symbiosis with humans. Sherry mattered to him in some way, and everyone knew it, including Sherry herself.
— I think she's in love with Jake, but because of little contact with other people and the outside world, is too shy to admit it.
— She has a deep respect for Chris and Claire, and considers the latter as close as if she were her second mother.
— The animal in which I see Sherry is a weasel.
Chris Redfield
— I think his eyes are gray. Gray eyes in real life can appear a different color depending on the lighting. In different photos with different lighting, they can turn brown, blue, even green. So I like to think that the confusion about Chris's eye color came about because of his gray eyes, which are just unlucky.
— For some reason, Chris doesn't like to show his young photos. Perhaps he is embarrassed by the fact that he used to be thinner and "weaker". Perhaps it makes him feel insecure. Or maybe he doesn't like his rebellious nature from the past.
— He's a golden retriever puppy.
Ada Wong
— Ada doesn't use perfume while she's on a mission so she doesn't reveal herself.
— She is black cat.
Wesker
— He hates ties. Maybe he was forced to wear them at some point.
— Wesker gives a fake name in non-serious situations like tailoring or meeting with the hairdresser so people won't be embarrassed or try to suck up to him. His name is more influential than himself, and it's a thing he doesn't like to abuse.
— Perhaps one day he wondered if he should have glasses with an interface.
— His totem animal is a possum. He's so good at playing dead.
— There is a stereotypical opinion of him based only on the outward image he builds for others. Few people delve into the lore or what is behind his fake "cool" image. So many people are susceptible to the halo effect, this is a cognitive bias where a person has a prejudice against someone based on their appearance or certain actions. People subject to this cognitive bias do not look at this person with a broad view, slipping into prejudice. This is why many are convinced that Wesker can't be bottom, and aggressively lash out at those who think otherwise. I, on the other hand, believe that Wesker is flexible in this regard, which is maximally not obvious. Wesker to me is "that" character from the teen shows, who builds himself up to be cool, but at night cries from loneliness or is very vulnerable. He's bottom, but that doesn't degrade his ego, it doesn't make him weak, because "bottom" he's only with those who "worthy" of him.
— Speaking of worthiness, I believe that Wesker is unwilling to use his powers all the time by thinking of other people as unworthy. Only Chris is worthy to stand up to that power.
— Wesker keeps Chris's dog tag.
Jill Valentine
— Jill's favorite color is sky blue, as it was the color she chose for her uniform in S.T.A.R.S. and continued to wear throughout her life. Every outfit Jill wore on any mission had shades of blue in it. It is definitely a color that she appreciates very much.
— Jill is definitely not the best cook, she can hardly cook anything better than scrambled eggs. She share this skill with Chris, who isn't very good in the kitchen either.
— Chris is her best and closest friend, her partner. They mean a lot to each other, but it's always platonic.
— Jill's orientation is bi. She probably liked Carlos, but I won't deny that there could have been a close dynamic between her and some woman too. Jill, like Chris, doesn't have much time for a personal life, so she didn't go into much detail about her preferences, nor did she have an love affair.
— She didn't like Wesker even before the betrayal. Maybe she realized before anyone else that there was something wrong with the guy, so she figured out his betrayal before Chris did, who resisted the information. She is perceptive and able to see through people.
— Her totem animal is a manul.
— In the days of S.T.A.R.S., she was the one who woke Chris, sleeping at his desk, just before Wesker or Chief Irons came in. She would cover her lazy (in those days) friend from trouble, getting the brightest and most genuine smile from him. Wesker knew of their machinations, but turned a blind eye to this childishness.
— She tries not to think of the time she spent under Wesker's control. Her dislike for him has only gotten stronger because of it. Of the horrible things about those years was not only violence, but also being with Wesker and Excella. Excella's flirting with Wesker was repulsive to Jill. She hated every moment of it.
— After 2009 her hair was permanently white, because of this she dyes it back to its original brown color so that nothing reminds her of those days.

I have a request for Kuvira! First date headcannons or a fic about making her flustered pls, up to you if you want to do both or just one
oooh, interesting, why not a bit of both?
،، 𝓕irst date with Kuvira
content warning: fluff ; headcanons and a one shot included ; reader is from Zaofu too ; no use of y/n ;
wc: 1k
a/n: HELLO :D i have some requests for Kuvira lined up, but i'm doing some quick rewatch of s4 so i can write her like she deserves, if you requested one of those, know that i didn't forget, i will get them as soon as i can <3 ENJOY THIS ONE !!
“ I don't wanna let it burn in the city lights and make the same mistakes.
♡ ; Kuvira and you had been flirting with each other for quite some time now before one got the enough courage to ask the other out.
♡ ; It was totally you. It was way too spontaneous.
♡ ; One day you two were talking on her break from the surveillance, eating a snack you brought to share.
♡ ; “We should go on a date, what about friday night?” you would ask out of nowhere.
♡ ; In clear shock, Kuvira would've chocked on a bite of the snack, before getting herself together and accepting the date with the strongest tone of red in your face.
♡ ; You gave her the sweetest smile before continuing eating and talking like nothing happened.
♡ ; But in her head were sounding alarms and screams excited to finally having a formal date with you.
♡ ; And don't get her wrong! She loved the spontaneous get together you two had, maybe going for food together, you accompanying her on the last minutes of her rounds, she walking you home.
♡ ; But she wanted to go on a formal date, one she could presume to everyone, and so did you.
♡ ; So, the next couple of days you would ask her if she was ready for the date just to see her blush and get a little bit nervous.
♡ ; Who would've thought the captain of the military was so easy to fluster... Just by you, obviously.
♡ ; She said she wanted to take care of the date since she had an idea for it, you agreed.
♡ ; Finally friday came and by the dawn you were running around your room to get ready.
♡ ; Your best attire ironed and resting in a coat rack, your shoes cleaned and you were applying the lightest make-up before doing your hair.
♡ ; By the time Kuvira knocked on your door you were putting on your last bracelet.
♡ ; “I'LL TAKE IT, NO ONE MOVES.” you screamed to your family while running downstairs, a second before opening the door you checked yourself quickly in the mirror at the entrance.
♡ ; “You look gorgeous.” she said after you opened the door for her.
♡ ; Your face would changed colors again while the biggest smile showed on your lips without any permission. “You look gorgeous too.”
♡ ; The captain offered you her arm to take and so you did after telling everyone you'll be getting back late, probably.
♡ ; The metalbender would've avoid the questions about the location of the date you made, changing it to another question.
♡ ; “The moon looks beautiful tonight, doesn't it?” “Did you hear if the night was going to be cold? I didn't pay attention to the weather person.” “Did I tell you I saw a butterfly today while doing my rounds? It was a blue one.” and so on.
♡ ; She stopped at a table sitting in the outside, with the most beautiful landscape behind it, the moon shining with such bright that you stayed in silence looking at such gorgeous scene.
“Do you like it?” she asked when she stopped hearing your voice, when turning to look at you her eyes could perceive the bright in yours.
“It's perfect.” a whisper came from your way before pulling her from the arm you've been holding the whole walk, both giggling.
Kuvira took one of the chairs, pulling it back and inviting you to sit. Smiling you took the seat, she walked to the other side and sat on her chair. With metalbending, the captain took off the metal cover from the plates revealing roasted duck, rice and deep-fried pickled radishes, you blinked surprised at the dish turning your eyes back to Kuvira, she was smiling without showing her teeth and a small blush on her cheekbones.
The dinner went smoothly, at the beginning both of you were so nervous that it felt like there weren't any topic left to talk about as if you didn't talk on the way there, but once you got comfortable again it was easy to take again the pace of the conversations.
At one point, your free hand reached for Kuvira's, her words got stuck in her mouth and twisted a bit in her tongue at the new feeling in her skin, but she embraced the gesture by intertwining your fingers with hers and continue to talk about the dance practice of that week.
The walking back when the dinner was over and both of you seemed tired enough was calm. Instead of your hand resting on her arm, both were tangled and you made them balance back and forth while smiling, satisfied with how the date went, totally planning on a second one.
The captain walked you back to your house, standing at the door both of you finished a conversation while you look lazily for your keys.
“I had fun,” you said, facing her directly without letting go of her hand. “The food was so delicious.”
“I had fun too.” she repeated back at you, smiling a little bit. “Maybe we can do this again another day..”
“Would love to.” against your will, you let go of her hand and unlocked your front door.
Kuvira whispered an almost quiet 'night' before turning around, but was shortly stopped by your hand around her wrist making her turn back around to you, she was about to question the action and was quickly cut off by your lips over hers.
It was a short kiss, a goodbye one, but it totally was such a sweet gesture that made her whole face turn red when you took a step back.
“Goodnight, captain, see you tomorrow.” you said goodbye with a funny smile while getting in the house and walk up your bedroom.
You would never know this, but Kuvira stood in your entrance surprise, she didn't had the time to react properly to the kiss. Her right hand traveled to her lips, with a faint touch she felt them and a big smile formed in her mouth before turning around and go back to her place, feeling like she was walking on clouds.

The Amazing Digital Circus Episode 3 - "As Iron Sharpens Iron-"
To say I was excited for this Episode to come out is an UNDERSTATEMENT.
Ever since Episode 2 PROVED it to me that this show was going to be something very special to me, I've been very invested and eagerly waiting the next installment.
This also marks the FIRST Digital Circus Episode where I CAUGHT THE PREMIERE.
I didn't see the Pilot until a month after it came out because I didn't know about the show. And Episode 2 I was at work at the same time of the release. I had a nerve-wrecking day.
But this time I CAUGHT IT, AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER TO.
So I was excited, especially when it was hyped up as the best episode so far!!!
...
IT WASN'T, BUT I STILL REALLY LOVED IT.
Yeah... I said it. I will be the first to say this:
As of right now, this is my least favorite episode.
NOW HOLD ON, THAT IN NO WAY MEANS I DISLIKED IT. THIS EPISODE IS GREAT.
Which should really tell you the quality of this show.
This IS a review based off a first viewing, so be aware of that. Y'all know I'm gonna rewatch this multiple times. So maybe my problems will become less problems.
I also CANNOT WAIT to see all the Angry Karens raging on the Internet about the show! "THIS CARTOON IS TOO DARK AND SCARY FOR MY CHILDREN!! I OUGHTA SUE YA GLITCH!!"
To that I'll say "F%#K YOUR KIDS, CARTOONS ARE FOR EVERYONE!!" (No I won't, but you get the message)
You want a kid friendly haunted mansion episode, NINJAGO SEASON 5 GOT YOU COVERED. (One of the best episodes in that show btw)
I would argue the circus tent is a lot scarier than a haunted mansion, but whatever.
But I do need to explain WHY I find this episode the weakest, and also gush over the good stuff cause there IS good stuff.
So I need to get into spoilers:
I've complained before in the previous two episodes that the B Plots were my least favorite thing about this show. They weren't bad, they just didn't grasp me like the A Plots did (AKA whichever plot Pomni has going on).
But I was really looking forward to them fixing this issue with this episode, especially to aid the characterization of Zooble. A character that has been very neglected. I was expecting this therapy session with Caine to be both chaotic (Because it's Caine) and inciting.
Did it deliver with that??
Yes AND No.
Technically, YES, it was inciting and we learned more about Zooble. They're not straight. They have dysphoria. They're very uncomfortable with their body which is why they're constantly changing parts. And because of that they don't feel like they fit in with the people around them.
LGBT+ Symbolism. Trans Symbolism. Zooble has dysphoria. CALLED IT.
(I mean, Jax even SAYS Zooble isn't straight in the episode)
And hey, just because I guessed what it was and saw it coming, doesn't mean I'm not very appreciative they brought it up. It helps with Zooble's character, and I'm sure the trans audience enjoyed it. I'm cis though, so I don't find it personal. That can't be helped.
We also learned about CAINE's mentality. The A.I was only programmed to create adventures. So he relishes in that because it's the only thing he knows how to do and knows how to help. And Zooble snarking at the very thing Caine was designed to do... BREAKS HIM.
And I am already theorizing, because Caine mentally breaking like that CAUSES A GLITCH IN THE ENTIRE CIRCUS.
So... CAINE'S mental state is what's keeping the circus afloat. THAT SAYS A LOT.
Yeah I definitely think he's getting redeemed, AND this is gonna come up later.
But other than those two scenes, I was a bit disappointed with this plotline. I feel like it could've been longer and we could've learned more. Or, let me rephrase that, at least ONE more cutaway to them.
As it stands, while this is TECHNICALLY the best B Plot of this show's episodes, it is still a B Plot that suffers from being much less interesting.
Idk, maybe this is a 'first viewing' issue, and when I watch the episode again, I'll understand it better.
Oh yeah, speaking of B Plots, we BARELY get ANYTHING regarding the pacifist route.
Once Pomni and Kinger fall into the hellhole, we don't hear from Ragatha Gangle and Jax FOR AWHILE.
And then the next time we see them, they're having tea and being friendly with the hunter's ghost wife, who DID NOT get an in person introduction. And they tied up Jax off screen. WHAT?!?! HOW DID Y'ALL GET HERE?!?!
It wasn't their episode, I understand why the episode wouldn't focus on them, but I DID want an explanation as to how we went from THIS, to THIS.
AND NO ONE BOTHERED TO SHOW CONCERN FOR POMNI AND KINGER THE WHOLE TIME?!
I also feel like it could have, at the very least, benefited Ragatha. But because we don't get anything, her little moment with Pomni at the end felt quite out of nowhere. Because... they didn't have any exchange this episode. I mean good for Pomni for finally expressing she likes her I guess.
Also... that whole exchange was really platonic...
(I don't ship them)
Overall, I really think this is a pacing issue. The pitch black scene with just their eyes is VISUALLY GREAT, love that they're experimenting with different art styles, BUT OH MY GOD THAT SEQUENCE DRAGS. It could have been HALF as long and the point would've still come across.
I also am just not a big fan of haunted mansion stories. And I know that MIGHT be just a me problem.
But in my defense, Ninjago Season 5 had a haunted mansion episode, and that was one of their best episodes that really SAID SOMETHING and taught the main characters something valuable.
THIS haunted mansion feels more like an obstacle more than anything else. Unless there's some deeper meaning behind the mansion's lore in the future, but I doubt it because it's designed to be a one time thing.
I'm MUCH more invested in the PSYCHOLOGICAL horror of the show instead of the PHYSICAL horror. And I think that's why The Pilot and Episode 2 felt a lot more scarier to me than this.
Don't get me wrong, the dismantled heads and the corpse monster ARE scary. The lit up severed head MADE MY SKIN CRAWL when I first saw it. So did Possessed Pomni.... is it bad that I'm kinda obsessed with Possessed Pomni though? But the scary imagery doesn't do much for me unless there's a deeper meaning behind it. Because after my skin crawl I was able to say "Yep. That's the severed head alive and glowing." "That's it's headless body."
When Pomni got possessed by running through the hall of souls, I remember saying aloud "NO DON'T DO IT".
And the thing that ACTUALLY scared me was when they said "How's your wife, Kinger?"
THAT'S the scary part of that for me.
They also OUTRIGHT TELL you the message of the episode this time.
Now I DON'T hate that they did that, it's meant to be a nice moment between Kinger and Pomni. But I MUCH prefer the approaches the previous episode had with showing its message and letting us pick it up for ourselves.
I don't think that's too much of 'dumbing down' though. Episode 2's incident is different. And this episode it IS meant to be a nice moment between Kinger and Pomni and that's why it had to be told.
So yeah, that's what's keeping this episode back for me.
Okay let me talk about the great stuff now. Aside from what I already mentioned.
ANIMATION.
I LOVE that they're experimenting with different styles, like I said. The 2D eyes look really good, and the little hand drawings at the beginning? Love them. They're so cute. PLEASE keep experimenting with animation techniques.
I was also REALLY WORRIED that the Episode's lighting would be too dark for me to see anything that was going on.
This is a BRIGHT show, especially in the previous two. So it's kinda offputting to see these cartoonish characters in a realistic setting. (That's probably on purpose)
But no, it ended up NOT being an issue for me. I followed everything that was happening perfectly.
Also POMNI AND KINGER.
They were EASILY the BEST thing about this episode. Hands down.
EVERY scene with them and their interactions is GOLDEN.
I SERIOUSLY thought Pomni was gonna take a backseat for a couple of episodes to make way for everyone else. But she IS the main character, so I should've suspected that wouldn't be the case.
The story LETS her BE the protagonist, WITHOUT taking anything away from the other character's development. Every scene aids BOTH HER & THEM.
She's such an incredibly written protagonist AND WE STAN IN THIS HOUSE.
But enough about her.
I KNEW this episode was going to make me understand the Kinger hype and love him, AND I WAS EXACTLY RIGHT.
I was wrong about it being schizophrenia. Instead his issue is dementia, which is memory loss/problems. But I'm not mad at all that I got that wrong.
I'm not someone who has dementia, so I can't speak if it's accurate or not, but I LOVE how it was handled here.
Kinger's brain works much differently from everyone else due to his past experiences, and there are certain triggers to his sanity. SO THAT'S WHY HE STAYS IN A PILLOW FORT. I GET IT NOW.
Also HIS WIFE.
Okay yeah so I was wrong about what the relationship was. But I don't care. I LOVED THIS BACKSTORY.
(Abstractions can be tamed?)
Kinger DEFINATELY went up my list for me thanks to this episode, and I KNOW he's gonna be a key player in the future. If his "seven years of computer science" line is anything to go off of.
I love him so much. Your honor, I love him. I wanna protect him.
These two make such great friends and I'm completely here for it.
And the episode STILL maintains all of Digital Circus's great qualities. Thrilling action, sharp comedy, great character interactions, excellent characterizations. And also much more theorizing material that will rot all our brains.
Great Episode. 8/10.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be welcoming this beauty in my nightmares.

DAY 3: DANGANTOBER
Day 3: Favorite THH Character Makoto Naegi is a cutie patootie. End post.
No, but in all seriousness, I love Makoto. I know I spent the majority of last post ranting about how much I love Hajime, but that doesn't mean I love Makoto any less.
I'll be real, I love the THH cast, so it was very difficult to pick a favorite from that group. I was between Celestia, Junko, Byakuya, and Makoto, but Makoto's who I went with. Like with Hajime, I was worried that Makoto would just be an self-insert character, and in-game, he kind of is? But people also misremember him in game. People characterize him all the time as non-confrontational, and just a hopeful, positive person, but he's a lot more nuanced than that.
Let's not forget that Makoto tried to throw hands with Monokuma more than once, that's pretty confrontational to me. While he puts up a front of a positive, hopeful person, he also has his moments of being affected by everything that's happened to him. Seriously, replay the game, he's got a lot more bite to him.
He's the kind of person I'd want to be friends with, he's a very sweet person, who's not afraid to throw down for the people he cares about.
I also really like his sibling relationship with Komaru. If you skipped UDG, I don't blame you, but aside from the obviously weird things happening in that game, there's also a lot of world building and substance. Maybe watch a playthrough, cringe with whoever's playing it, and get that good lore.
You can see it in the anime too, he just lights up when he sees Komaru's transmission go through, because it's confirmation that he still has her around. Up until that point, he wasn't sure if his family was still around, and now he knows he still has his sister. It's very sweet, and the way he has so much faith in her, and knows she's capable to do whatever it is she needs to do.
But it's The End of Hope's Peak anime that really does it in for me, and cements him as one of my favorite characters. I get it, I'm basic. But one of the bigger points I see get brought up about Makoto, is that they don't really explore the trauma that would go along with being in a game like that. Which is false, but it's definitely something the game doesn't really focus on for the sake of plot.
But in the anime, you can really see how much that affects him. Makoto Naegi suffers from survivor's guilt, and it's so incredibly potent. That moment made me so sad, I had to close my computer and actually GO TO SLEEP? That can't be right. Granted, I watched that episode at like, 2AM, but rewatching it in the morning hit just as hard.
Like with Nagito, Bryce Papenbrook really gives his all for Makoto, including in the anime. You hear it all the time, whether he's just giving someone a pep talk, or reacting to the newest death in the game. He's smarter than people give him credit for, like in the fight with Munakata, he figures out his forbidden action and traps him in a situation where he needs to sit down and talk with him, all on his own. I'd say he's more emotionally intelligent, but he's definitely got brains in his little noggin.
Please, I want his Nendoroid so badly. I own a plushie of him in Future Arc, I bought it at a local fair, and he's my prized possession.
On the topic of emotional intelligence, he's very forgiving and compassionate too. One thing you should know about me, is that I love the SDR2 cast, including when they're the Remnants of Despair. They're cool, their designs are cool, and they're CRIMINALLY underused. Makoto is the one who was able to see past the people they had become, and see the hurt people underneath. Most of the world had written them off as despair-laden monsters, but Makoto actually went against the wants of the Future Foundation in order to rehabilitate them.
Even if it causes him issues, Makoto is very caring and will do what's right. His sense of morality is one that is evidently difficult to skew.
And finally, he's a cutie patootie. The rest of this post will be GIFs of him looking adorable.
Lord, let me pinch his cheeks.

The Tales of Ba Sing Se PART 2
The Tale of Zuko
Maybe I should make a Zuko's Stupid Faces post.
Zuko and Iroh's whole dynamic in one frame.
This girl is cute. Total girl next door type. She does have fairly horrible taste in men, but she's also very cute.
I just want to take a minute to point out a VERY important distinction. Zuko is not going out on a date. Zuko is not taking a girl out on a date. A girl is taking Zuko out on a date. She's got that arm in a death grip. Not only is that a clever reversal of the usual hetero dynamic, but I'm convinced it's the only way Zuko would ever get any action, so it's also in character.
I know Zuko's social skills are non-existent, but apart from the blow up at the waiter he is actually trying. He's failing, but I have to give him points for trying.
The way this girl's voice actress says "You juggled" made my ears very happy. And the beleaguered "yes. I juggled." is equally good.
Zuko! Tell her you did sword stuff! That's something you can actually do!
It gives me hope that someone so steeped in the most toxic parts of the Fire Nation, for so long, can STILL be so bad at lying, but it would certainly be a handy skill right about now.
I take it back. This girl does have good taste in men. Zuko's such a softie when it counts. He still sucks at being normal, but he just risked his identity because the girl he didn't even plan to go out with was a little bit sad.
This girl is the best.
Ha! He kissed her back! He Did! I saw that!
I take back what I took back. Zuko's evil again. He made my new favourite girl droop.
I love that Iroh's waiting up for him while making it look like he isn't waiting up for him. How many times on their ship, when Zuko was out Blue Spiriting, do you think Iroh found a reason to be randomly sat on the deck at 3 am?
Character development baby! Can you really call yourself loyal to the fire nation if you admit to having a good time on a date with an Earth Kingdom girl?
The Tale of Momo
Pretty.
That was a FILTHY bait and switch. For one shining moment, I had Appa back.
They should take that to June.
Not Appa.
Also not Appa.
I did not have 'Momo gets gaslit' on my Avatar Bingo card. Nor did I have 'interspecies animal friendship angst.'
Are these cat things the raccoons of the Avatar universe? Or the squirrels? Urban scroungers?
I love the idea that this guy just grabs the closest squirrel, sticks a hat on it, and expects it to dance. He got lucky with Momo.
I thought they were taking the animals to the pound, but this is very much a butcher. Which means that in Ba Sing Se, they eat varmint. Stay away from the hot dog carts.
That's very effective Simglish.
Thank god for thumbs.
Aw they're friends! This has Aristocats vibes, when O'Malley and the girl cat are getting together near the end.
And one final Fuck You, because god forbid Momo's tale ends on a happy note.
I'm guessing that's an Appa print, but couldn't it also be a platypus bear?
Something about the cats standing vigil over Momo's grief gets to me.
Final thoughts
I'll go through each of these stories individually, but first some general comments.
Last episode was kind of intense, and definitely ended on a downer (not that this one didn't), so it was a good call to at least start this episode off on something a bit gentler.
I was really impressed with the soundtrack throughout. Apart from the Tale of Momo where it's the animal noises that are front and centre, the music is doing a lot of work in every story, the strings especially. The strings are doing emotional work, plot stuff, and even humour. Seriously, next time you rewatch this episode, pay attention to the strings. These shorts are actually very light on dialogue (apart from Sokka's), but they don't feel that way because the music is doing the talking.
I'm assuming that this all took place over three days at least, since Iroh, Zuko, and Momo's tales seem to end on different evenings. So I don't think calling this episode 'day in the life' is accurate. My bad. It also occurs to me that this kind of episode format would be a great way of showing time has passed. If they had had an episode like this in the Northern Water Tribe - after Katara beat the crap out of Poophead but before the Fire Nation attacked - I would have liked the pacing of the whole finale arc better.
On to the stories!
The Tale of Toph and Katara
It might be because I didn't understand what this episode was doing yet, but this one didn't do much for me. It was good to see Toph have a moment of self-doubt, but I never would have assumed, based on her previous behaviour, that her appearance was her proverbial weak spot. Katara did a really good job at building her back up, and she was delightfully (and appropriately) understated for once. When she's reassuring Aang of something (especially in Season 1) Katara tends to got from 0 to 60 very quickly, so it was nice to see her be reassuring in a quiet, non-steamrolling way. Is this Katara character development? Apart from the fact that Toph quite literally got her eyeballs sanded, nothing much in this episode stuck out to me. Except those bitchy voices. Those were like knives in my brain.
The Tale of Iroh
So many questions! Is Lu Ten buried in Ba Sing Se? How is that grave not defaced yet? How did Iroh get a copy of his son's picture? They lost everything at the North Pole, right? Did he ask the people who got him their passports for a picture of his son too? Does Zuko know/remember that it's his cousin's birthday? If so, why isn't he there offering Iroh the world's most awkward hug? Given the fact that Iroh spent the whole day helping people, including a very misguided youth, and given that Iroh says something along the lines of "if only I could have helped you [his son]" does this imply that Lu Ten was going through a crisis at the time of his death? Was he misguided like the wannabe mugger? Is Zuko not the first Fire Nation Prince that Iroh has had to guide through an identity/existential crisis? Is Zuko going to be the first time Iroh succeeds at guiding a Fire Nation prince through an identity/existential crisis? Does Iroh live in perpetual fear of failing Zuko the way he seems to believe he failed his son? Am I reading too much into this?
To be quite honest, this story would have hit me harder if I had remembered going into it that Iroh had a son. Lu Ten takes being a textual ghost to a whole new level. Also the 'In honor of Mako' text confused me. And worried me a little.
The Tale of Aang
I liked this one! Aang can't help Appa at the moment, but he can help all the Appa stand ins who aren't fortunate enough to have an Aang to help them. Aang is a nice little boy! Of course he'd free a bunch of animals without thinking about the consequences and the epic pile of platypus bear dung he's just landed the zookeeper in with the Dai Li. I liked the animal designs. I liked the earthbending. I liked the Siamese cat representation. I loved cabbage man. I think that, if Appa could have known, he would have approved. I also think that I'm once again reading too much into this. it was nominally a fun fluff piece elaborating on a established emotional conflict (Appa missing), which gave it just enough weight to be slightly more than a fluff piece.
The Tale of Sokka
I am entirely serious when I say that 'poetry bouncer' is my favourite joke so far in the WHOLE show. I love absurdity played entirely earnestly. It's fridge funny too. The longer I contemplate the implications, the funnier it gets. What past event required a poetry bouncer be introduced? He's not there to protect the students or the teacher; he's here to reinforce the structure of the Haiku by force. Was he hired by the concept of Haiku? Is Haiku taken so seriously in Ba Sing Se that he's needed to break up cat fights between students? There is a rich well of haiku-related hijinks just hinted at by his presence, and I want to know more.
Sokka is so often his own worst enemy that it makes sense that he's taken out by his own hubris. That fortune teller lady was absolutely a crook, but she did one hell of an accurate cold read on Sokka.
The Tale of Zuko
Credits tell me that the girl's name is Jin. I would like to congratulate the creators of Avatar for managing to illustrate romantic interest so palpably without resorting to heart eyes and steam whistle noises. Nothing wrong with those; I'm just impressed by how much of Jin's interest in Zuko you can feel. Also, she'd better be more than a single episode character, because I need more of this sweetheart. She's a real contender for displacing Toph as my favourite girl in the cast.
To be fair to Zuko, he did make Jin droop (UNFORGIVABLE), but it was also the right call. He can't date her honestly. It IS complicated. And I don't think any Earth Kingdom girl (worth dating) would knowingly go out with Fire Nation royalty. Jin wanted Lee the Tea Boy. Try as he might, Zuko can't stop being Zuko. I would argue that he shouldn't stop being Zuko. His flashback mom told him not to forget who he was, so I'd also argue that the narrative doesn't want Zuko to stop being Zuko either. I guess it's a case of right girl, wrong time. It looks like she's cool with him being a firebender, but firebending and being the Fire Lord's son are not the same magnitude of hurdle to dating. Maybe when the war's over they can hook up again.
The Tale of Momo
I think this qualifies as cruelty to the audience. I got the impression that this story was crafted borderline maliciously, to make the viewers suffer angst dump after angst dump.
I liked seeing things from Momo's perspective. I loved the animal noises, which really got across a shocking amount of emotion. Those, combined with body language, were as effective as any spoken script. These cartoon people really know how to use their medium.
It absolutely kills me that Momo is missing Appa, and since he doesn't understand human speech, he can't even be comforted by knowing that his humans are actively looking for him. If you've ever seen one of your pets missing another of your pets in real life, you know there's nothing worse than the helplessness that comes with not being able to explain or magically summon their friend back from the kennel, or the vet, or the dead. All you can do is give them hugs. I'm glad that Momo got a street cat support group at the end of the episode, but the animal grief at the beginning was hard to get through. It's sweet to have confirmation that Momo sees Appa as family, but surely they could have showed that to us in a way that doesn't make me need to hug the stuffing out of my own pets?
Final Final Thoughts for real this time
This episode wrings you out a little. Fully a third of the stories are about Appa, despite him not being there. At least half are about missing someone who isn't there. At least half are bittersweet.
I liked this episode format. I hope they use it again next season. Only Toph and Katara's tale felt too short to me. The rest did such a good job at drawing me in, that when I went back to check timestamps I was surprised by how short these stories are.
I'm going to go eat too much chocolate.

Alan Becker Analysis: Hazard's Mysteries (Or Maybe I'm Overthinking???)
Ok so unlike this last post about Victim and Glasses Guy / "Agent", this isn't really me bringing anything solid onto the table (well besides one or two things). This is just me overanalysing random shit that frankly is likely irrelevant.
Anyways this post is about Bathroom Sign Guy aka Hazard aka Warning aka Sign, the gray pictogram mercenary from Animator vs. Animation VI, and why he might have a deeper role (prob doesn't).
Part 1 - The Overthinking of Minor Details
Ok this is the part where I'm 100% convinced I'm just talking stupid shit due to rewatching the episodes too many times, but eh.
Let's start off with something... relatively normal actually, which I saw pointed out by others. When Chosen attacks the mers with lightning, Hazard has this shit happen to him:
This is... frankly weird and idk what it means. When Wanted first came out, this and his movement made me think Hazard was a robot, but since then I started believing he's just a normal stick figure like the others. Besides, this whole series is on a computer so everyone besides the Animator is an AI lol.
So if he's not a robot, perhaps Hazard is connected to technology, and thus taking away the ship's energy took away his? That's the only other thing I can think of.
The second one was actually told to me by a friend, and tbh even in this whole post this might be the biggest stretch, but I still think this is worth bringing up. When Orange and Chosen return to the Outernet, Hazard is seen looking... somewhere.
(btw agent looks so stupid here lmfao)
The most likely answer is that he is simply looking around, like Agent and Primal - the cave drawing - are seen doing like immediately afterwards. But my friend did point out that it could easily look like Hazard is looking up - in which case, he could've possibly noticed Chosen and Orange, and then chose to not tell the other mercenaries until Agent notices them and thus forces Haz to intervene. Likely just huge overthinking of a one-off scene, but still.
The last one from Wanted is this shot of the Mercenaries in the elevator.
In this scene, Hazard briefly looks at Ballista - the pixel gremlin - and then proceeds to look away when the little guy stares back at him. Is it most likely them just finding the awkward elevator silence uncomfortable? Probably yea, but it could also be a sign of Hazard and Ballista having a rocky relationship - we see Ballista is pretty aggressive, so maybe Hazard is nervous around such a batshit crazy dude?
In "The Box", the first Hazard scene worth talking about is the first of his reactions to Victim's torture of Chosen.
We know he is a mercenary and a villain, so it should be expected that he's a cruel bastard, but still, falling asleep while watching torture is just another level. What kind of shit did Hazard see, or do himself, that he finds Victim's actions purely boring?
...and yet, just a few moments more later, Hazard has an actual reaction to Victim pulling out a lasso.
Now, the three dots - and thus, Hazard's silence of a reaction - could mean anything. Maybe he's still bored, just awake now. Maybe he's curious to see what will happen. Maybe he has actual standards. But it's still interesting to see that Victim's lasso got a reaction out of Hazard (meanwhile Ballista just crosses his arms, prob in curiosity or impatience, while Primal stays completely still - I'll get to their personalities later).
Similarly, Victim ordering Agent to clone him also gets a small reaction out of Hazard, his head jumping a little (I don't know how else to call it).
This time, it's definitely just shock/curiosity/surprise that Vic is doing something new, and/or that the Box lets you clone people, but still worth pointing out.
A long time later, we finally get something worthy of note from Hazard, that I actually find interesting. While the other mercs are too busy looking through Chosen's memories, Hazard notices Orange returning.
I feel like this was actually an intentional choice. Like, why make all the mercs focused on Chosen's memories, excluding only one of them - and it's not even the most important mercenary that's the big bad's right hand? Also, why is Hazard so far away from the other mercenaries? While I consider this whole section of the post just major overthinking, this one moment specifically is actually pretty sus to me.
Now, to close off this section, there is Haz's reaction to Super Orange.
Mainly, how he and Victim are the only ones who are inarguably scared/panicking. Primal just leans in like "de fuk", Ballista flinches once and then watches in silence, while Agent double checks on both the small and large monitor. Primal and Agent are confused, Ballista is shocked(? idk how to call it), but Hazard and Vic are the only ones with a true "OH SHIT" reaction. What this means? Idk, again this whole section is just overthinking things.
Thankfully we can leave the part where I talk meaningless shit and get into the parts that hopefully actually have a point.
Part 2 - Hazard and His (Lack of) Personality
Another part I noticed since Wanted first dropped (part of the reason why I first thought Haz was a robot) was that, compared to the other mercs, he has so little personality... which might be intentional.
I mean, Agent. He also doesn't showcase a lot of himself, but we still see that he's cool, calm, loyal to Victim, kind of a taunting asshole who plays with his victims instead of instantly getting serious, and despite it all, not unbreakable - He panicked when Chosen attacked him with the iceberg, and he was caught off-guard by Super Orange like everyone else.
Ballista probably has the most personality out of everyone. His body language shows emotion pretty much all the time: most specifically, anger. Whether it's his fighting style, his pose, or walk cycle, Ballista is pissed off 24/7. It's implied it even makes his co-workers nervous. At the same time, the grin he flashes when jumping off the ship in Wanted shows he enjoys his job.
Primal is second only to Hazard in lack of personality, but there's definitely still something there. Mainly, is that he's a very fight-focused person that is basically an empty shell outside it. He's so ready to fuck up a rhino in Wanted, and sharpens his spear for another hunt while bored, but outside of fighting Orange?... he's pretty dull. Only a bit more emotional than Hazard. He seems like a Kraven-type character who just wants to hunt the biggest prey possible, while having zero life outside it. Also he has a Hulk-style form which reduces him to an animal sapience-wise.
Hazard, though? He uhh... he wants to get Chosen, is very focused on completing the job, and that's kinda it. He's such a blank it feels intentional. Perhaps he has his own goals and is hiding them?
Part 3 - He's Either Holding Back or He's Fucking Useless
Yea not gonna sugarcoat this. There has to be some sort of big reveal of Hazard's true power in later episodes, or this dude's so weak it's laughable to think he's supposed to be a threat.
I mean, Agent has a toolbar that makes him a Mini-Animator, and he can pause anything and anyone. Ballista can shapeshift his body and pull weapons out of his ass. Primal has a stronger form that can pick up a rhino without difficulty, and he probably has more.
Hazard?
He, uh... is good at dodging. He also has this one Shock Sign that killed a bird. Yeah.
Ngl if this is all Hazard has then it's impossible for me to see him as a threat on par with the other mercs, or even Victim. Hell, I wouldn't even be able to see him as above the Stick Gang in strength, with how slow Orange was in that scene compared to his fights in the AvM Shorts.
So yeah, on top of possibly hiding his true personality/hidden motives, Hazard was most likely holding back heavily in Wanted, which only makes him more mysterious.
Part 4 - The End
So, this is kinda it. Was Part 1 all overthinking, or did I get a few things right? Is Hazard actually hiding something, or does he only show little personality because none of his scenes let him show off anything? Is he holding back his true strength, or is he actually weak?
Frankly idk, but I am excited to see where things go with this guy, as he has tons of potential.
#animator vs animation#alan becker#ava hazard#ava mercenaries#ava the chosen one#ava victim#me overthinking things#because of course#but fr this dude has so much potential#so do the other mercs#i'm actually more interested to see them rather than victim in future episodes

Sad Movies | Bang Chan
Summary: you get emotional over fictional characters, bf!Channie does not
Notes: fluffy, mention of sad movies but not in description
Warnings: idk what this is I just hurriedly finished an old draft😓
Chan straightens up when he hears a soft whimper throughout the house. He turns his head slightly to listen again, pausing any other movements. When he confirms his thoughts, he starts to walk to where he thinks the crying is coming from.
He knocks quietly on your shared bedroom door. "Sweetheart?"
You tell him to come in through your sobs. You knew why he was there, checking up on you. You were crying so hard it would be weird if he didn't come at the sound. But you couldn't help it. Not when the show you were watching killed off such a good character.
"What's wrong, baby?" His eyes were full of worry as he entered the room, immediately crawling on the bed to get to you.
You lean into his arms as they wrap around you for protection. "The show! They killed him, Channie. Just killed him off!"
Chan pauses for a second, changing his focus to the tv. Then he lets out a breath of relief and squeezes you tighter. "You're crying over the show?"
Smacking his shoulder, you pushed back from him. "Yes I'm crying over a show! It's sad, dude. Very sad."
Your boyfriend nods in agreement, recognizing the show as something you both watched when it first aired. It had been quite some time since he'd seen it, although he knew this was a rewatch for you. Still, he was quite aware of your emotional connection to fictional characters, regardless of how many times you've seen it play out. You know the character dies and it still hurts you.
"Honey, can you warn me when you watch something like this again? I need to know when to be concerned."
Chan hadn't meant for it to sound as harsh as it did, truthfully. He wanted you to feel a little guilty for making his heart race with worry, hearing you cry so hard. Instead, he made you push him away in annoyance.
"I'll have you know, Sir Bang Chan, that this is concerning that you have never once cried to this show, let alone any show!" You scooted to the far edge of your bed, moving to place pillows in between him and you as a barrier.
His eyebrows raised at your action. Instead of fighting, he nods momentarily while raising his hands in surrender. Chan watches as you turn back to the television, reaching blindly for a tissue and bringing it straight up to your nose for a harsh blow. He cringes softly and begins to back away and off the bed.
"I'm just glad you're okay," he laughs lightly, heading towards the bedroom door to escape.
You began to sigh heavily as the show continued, the scene of your favorite character's death playing over again as a next episode recap. Instead of skipping it, like you should have, you watched it over as you felt your frustration pent up. Chan would never understand how devastating it was to watch the people on the show cry so desperately in hopes to have their loved one back in their arms.
"You just don't have a heart!" You suddenly say to your boyfriend, catching his attention again. "Anyone with emotions would cry at this tragedy. They didn't even need to kill him!"
Chan felt the challenge that came with those words. His head tilted to the side as he narrowed his eyes, slowly turning to meet your gaze. "I think I have more emotions than you."
You shook your head defiantly, wiping the tears away with more tissues. "Not a chance. Only psychopaths don't cry at sad movies." You paused for a moment, thinking about your words. "I'm sure you didn't cry for the 'Bridge to Terabithia' movie, or maybe even 'Big Daddy's couldn't make you cry."
He eased himself back onto the bed on the opposite side of your pillow barrier. "Well maybe I would if I had ever seen those."
You gasped at the new information. "What?! Never seen them? Were you born under a rock?!"
Chan picked up a pillow, tossing it at your face in an attempt to quiet you. "That's what I said, isn't it?"
You say up on your knees, completely ignoring your show as you turned to face your lover completely. "Okay so what about A walk to remember'?" At the shake of his head you continued to list," 'The Notebook', 'A Werewolf Boy', 'Always'?"
You stared at him in shock, listing both American and Korean movies with no luck. If only you knew popular Australian movies, maybe that would make a difference.
You hesitated to offer one last sad movie, " 'Marley and me'?"
Chan jumped, pointing a finger towards you. "Oooh, yes! That one. I've seen that one, it's actually a really sad movie."
Finally finding a common movie, you looked at him expectantly. "So? Did you cry?"
He shook his head. "No."
You sighed, throwing yourself back onto the bed in defeat. You were right after all: only psychopaths don't cry at sad movies. You could never watch 'Marley and me' without bawling your eyes out. In fact, you had only seen it one other time because of it. Sure, some people had a range of emotional strength when it came to sad movies, but there's a limit.
"You're just plain heartless," you muttered beneath your hands that covered your face.
Chan giggled beside you, maneuvering so he hovered directly above you. He gently pried away your hands, smiling brightly at your distressed expressions. "I cry when it comes to you," he reasoned thoughtfully. "Everything about you is so beautiful and perfect I can't help but tear up sometimes."
You rolled your eyes at his flirting. "Not the same, Christopher."
He laughed loudly, leaning down to peck your lips. "Alright you got me, I'm a cold hearted animal. Just please, for the love of everything living in this world, tell me when you're wanting to upset yourself by rewatching sad things."
You watched as he began to leave the bedroom again. "I know you can't be human if you didn't cry at Highschool Musical whenever Gabriella left Troy-"
"Now that!" Chan pauses in his steps, turning to point a finger at you again. "That I cried to. Every time."

People I Would Like to Know Better
(But this first bit is about getting to know me)
Thanks to @on1occasionfork and @missunderstoodlyrics for the tag
last song: Either "The Garden" by Take That or "All the Pretty Girls" by Kaleo
youtube
last podcast: "Buckingham Palace" on Short History of... by Noiser
last book: Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer (2nd in a series--wickedly funny, highly recommend). This was way back in early October, before I got involved with the Writer's Guild. I had read plenty of fanfics before, but after that, it's pretty much been all I read.
last movie: Christmas movies. Probably White Christmas (we watch it every Christmas morning)
last tv show: Agatha All Along. But right now we're rewatching Good Omens. We're up to S2E2. And then we'll probably go back to wherever we were with Doctor Who. We're somewhere in the Peter Capaldi era.
sweet/spicy/savory: Never spicy. Probably savory. But then, you know, afters. So sweet.
favorite color: Appears to be green. Somewhere between forest and army. I wear a lot of that and it's on a lot of things I own. (See Teen's green in the Agatha clip? Yeah, kinda like that)
most recent research: For a fic (of course) on how to spend a romantic day in Bath, England. Now I know how we're going to spend at least one day on our next trip to the UK.
current obsession: Really? If I said something other than Good Omens, why am I even here? Good Omens. Watching Good Omens. Re-reading Good Omens, the novel. Reading Good Omens fanfic. Writing Good Omens fanfic. Acquiring (modest amounts) of Good Omens enamel pins. Waiting for Good Omens Season 3 production information to start trickling out. Waiting for Good Omens Season 3.
Looking forward to: Getting to know the people in the Reddit GOAD and Writers Guild communities better. Writing more fan fiction in 2025. Collaborating with @on1occasionfork We already have at least one (maybe two?) stories planned, and one of them will include artwork by @onedappercat. Plus I hope to get brave enough to ask other artists to collaborate with me on a couple of larger projects I'm mapping out now. I only had 2 months of 2024 to publish, so this will be my first full year, and I'm very excited!
people I'd like to know better: I would like to know anyone who has ever said hi to me in chat. Anyone who has ever commented on "Spectral's Question of the Week" on Reddit. Anyone who has read one of my fics on AO3. Anyone who has commented on my posts, here or on Reddit or Bluesky.
But since this is a tagging game, I'll list a few people. If you're not here, I probably couldn't figure out how to tag you! And nobody should feel like they have to play along! Love you, lovelies!

I Am All In Rewatch - Episode 2x9
But if you'll notice in that scene when she came up at the end, one of the last scenes in the whole thing..and she's coming up to say, hey, you know, I still dig you and you're part of my life and you know this kind of thing, and she she's saying what she's not saying what she mean. She's saying what she means without having to be direct about it. So, um, and I'm fixing a watch. I had a tiny little watch screw driver. I had it face open. How does Luke know how to fix a watch? Couldn't fix a toaster, right. Exactly what is he doing, like with an intricate piece of jewelry that is very complex? How is he in the watch fixing a damn watch?...So this is a choice that you make, because I remember making this choice. And I'm not saying that this was a genius choice. It was just a choice because they always tell you in acting school the genius is in the choice, right, And that's the mark of you know, an actor or an actress. What choices are you making? Now I I could have been without that watch. I could have been with many other diner like things. A watch is not a diner like item at all. And I said to myself, and here's here's a perfect example of somebody overthinks. Here's a but here's a perfect example somebody overthinking something trying to make a point that nobody got. And I don't know if they got it or not. But Props came to me and says, what do you want to be doing in this scene? Because if you know, it's a big kind of important scene. I said, And I should have said you know, there are any number of things I could have done that would have maybe been a better choice than trying to fix an intricate piece of jewelry that happened to be a watch. Um, I could have been doing nothing. I could have been wiping. I could have been doing the Ketchup bottles. I could have been, you know, with my receipts...I thought to myself, in my actor brain, it's either the best or the worst choice I think I ever made, uh was Luke doesn't know what time it is because his watch is broken. Luke doesn't know what time it is with Lorelai. He doesn't know what time it is in his life with her, and he wants to fix the watch because she if she's running around with young guys and not having deep experiences, then what the hell is wrong with me? I need to fix my watch and be so I can know what time it is. That was the thought process. So I thought of it symbolically and I thought, you know, get me a watch. I'll fix a watch because he doesn't know what time and I didn't tell them in the prop department because Luke didn't know what time it is and they decided to keep it in...It's not bad on a certain level. It's kind of genius right?...Anyway, there you go, that's just a fun...Well, you know, I he became very relaxed, and he's smiling and looking down and being a little bit shy. He was in love again because he fell out of love. I don't know if he fully fell out of love. But it was like, is this girl just ridiculous and like, am I just know what? Like he was confused for that episode. Yeah, I think I think his ego took a hit and he sort of came back. You know, guys, guys can be delicate creatures. -Scott

Fucks
I've been trying to work on my mental health and shit lately. Part of that includes doing a reread of a few books I own: Unfuck Yourself, the Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck, and You Are a Badass.
Not getting into detail about all of them, but one main point of the Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck is actually choosing what to give a fuck about. It's not saying be an indifferent asshole. It's saying that you need to make your fucks count. Like, do you really need to give a fuck that some guy online thinks you're weird? Not really. There's no point. But should you give a fuck about that weird thing your back has been doing? Probably. See what I'm saying?
My entire life I've given too many fucks about shit that I have no need to give a fuck about. What's that gotten me? Anxiety. A lot of fucking anxiety.
Last night, as I cuddled Xena in bed, I was thinking this over.
And I realized...I am not going to give a fuck about my writing anymore. I'm not going to stress over it. I get so worked up about getting work out that I get writer's block. I get so worked out to keep updating things ASAP. And why? For 4 likes, MAYBE a reblog, and the rare comment? "Write because you love it!" Because I know I'll hear that tired ass line. You know what? That's only part of it. You know what I love? Honestly (because one thing I will keep giving a fuck about is honest, but like...being totally honest), the validation. I love when people interact with my work. I love when I put something I worked on out where and people go bonkers over it. Why would I keep giving a fuck when I post it and get...crickets?
I'm not saying I'm quitting, either. I'm simply just choosing to write when the mood hits. No more sitting here and going "I need to write 500 words by tonight". I'll still update fics that are already written, though. That takes no fucks and no efforts lmao
I had another thought, but I have other things to do. And, frankly...I'd rather go do those things.
Also, rewatching Supernatural for the millionth time. I think the boys would be proud of me for choosing to not stress over silly shit. :)
