Was ruminating on how Miles and Miguel are technically both 'Spider-man 2' in their respective universes. Got me thinking about the other Spider-successors in the cast, and also what if they all got matching T-shirts or something.

Christmas Oneshot is out!

FINALLY got this out, just in time for New Years (I still have HOURS to go before midnight but close enough). I knew I'd get it done before December ends ;p (link on the picture)

this was really bittersweet for me because it's itsy bitsy content,,, but it comes with a side of gentle angst because we know what happens </3

and a little side note: I'm probably going to take "Catch Me, if You Can" out of the title for LoF, and make that the series name. so nothing will change for tags because the CMiYC part will be for the overall series and help with tags still

Happy Holidays to all of you, and I want to thank you for everything. I started LoF as a silly thing to do with a friend because I wasn't feeling well. I was pretty directionless when I started out 2024, but this past year has taught me a lot. I wasn't very confident in my writing until I got into LoF (yes, even when I was writing Home I hadn't considered it as anything but a hobby). But now I look at 2025 and feel a mix of emotions. I want to pursue a career in writing and art, and it's thanks to all of you that picked up this silly fanfic and felt a connection to it. So thank you, and I hope the new year brings about joy for all of you as well <3

Just a little reminder

That this little boy is going to suffer the most horrifying traumas of his life before hitting 18. Living without parents since childhood. His uncle was shot and died in front of him. His mentor saved the world and died in front of him. His aunt was murdered and died in his arms. And his best friend and girlfriend alongside the rest of the world will forget him, leaving him all alone with no one to love or care for him.

Sci in the short time Uncle Ben was around -- or even if he'd lived longer -- would he have known that Peter is Spiderman?

this is such a delight of a question! what a delightful little thought experiment. thinking about a scenario where uncle ben was still around when aunt may finds out peter is spider-man – when she finds peter's tights, when he was seventeen.

i think there's no way at all that aunt may wouldn't have told uncle ben. she definitely would have told him. i don't think uncle ben would've been observant enough to figure it out by himself, but – aunt may, she's smart. she figures it out.

may and ben have such entirely different ways of handling peter

ben's old-fashioned, a bit square (like peter), and not very well-informed. he worries a lot about peter. worries about him getting into trouble. sees his unusual behaviour, and meets it with soft concern. he doesn't understand it all, he doesn't understand the youth. but he has a desire to embrace peter and attempt to understand him. he worries about him a lot.

may - may's always been the cool parent. she's encouraging, and very easy about this sort of thing. i think she has a lot of trust in peter. maybe more than she should. she is well-informed, and smart, and she recognises behaviours in peter and kind of feels like it's nothing to worry about. she knows peter's doing all the important exploration that he needs to do, and he'll do it at his own time. she thinks peter can handle it.

(of course peter could not handle it.)

i think that's why aunt may didn't confront peter about spider-man. i think she's of the feeling that peter would come out to her when he's ready to. but - she'd definitely tell ben. and if uncle ben knew - well, oh. he would be worried out of his mind.

god bless, it would come out of such a place of concern. and he'd talk to peter. in the most awkward way a father could give his son the talk.

I did a little looking into parental genetics, and guess what?

A set of parents with Black hair and Blue eyes, and Red hair and Green eyes, CAN HAVE A BROWN HAIRED AND BROWN EYED CHILD!!!

You heard me right.

Dick and Babs or Dick and Kor'i can both be canonical pairings for Peter's Parents in the DC universe.

I personally like Dick and Kor'i for Peter's parents better, not for a lack of a love for Babs, Babs and Dick are my favorite DC Pairing. But more for the fact that Mary and Kor'i sound similar enough phonetically that anyone slipping up and accidentally calling her Kor'i in her civilian identity could easily pass it off as just slurring the name Mary a bit. And the fact that Richard and Mary Parker both worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Comics, and their Plane crash death always sounding like a Government made cover story for an agent dying on a secret mission, well...

Richard Parker and Mary Parker were Government funded Heroes in the Marvel Universe, under the codenames of Nightwing and Starfire, and were killed on a mission, orphaning their son Peter with his Aunt and Uncle, May Parker, and Jason "Ben" Parker. For MCU Continuity, they could have been members of the First Avengers Initiative Team, one that existed in the early 90's, who was shut down in the late 90's after members of the team died in a tragic mission, and that would be why the Initiative was Shut down before The start of the MCU with Nick Fury trying to revive it. And that's why Nick (and Talos) knew who Peter Parker was and trusted him with Mysterio First. Not just because he's Spider-Man or was in the Area, but because Both of his parents were founders of the FIRST Avengers team.

That's my personal Headcanon at least.

But I also love Babs being being Mary, because that totally recontextualizes all of the starts to Peter in Gotham Fics as a Mother seeing her Teenage Son (who looks so much like his father it hurts, with the Lazarus Pit-ification of his eyes to green really showing how much his eyes are shaped after his mother's) for the first time, usually looking Homeless, injured, starving, and traumatized, all wrapped up in whatever random clothes he could snatch up from his surroundings to pass off as normal looking. And she just has to have a silent crying breakdown as she knows that's her son, even if she hadn't birthed him yet (or maybe she thinks the memory of her being pregnant was erased from her memory? She doesn't know what to think anymore!) but a mother can always recognize her baby. And he just looks so Hurt and all she can do is cry and try to get concrete proof that he's her son in the short time he's in her library, while ALSO calling over Dick to ask if he knew they had a kid together.

I think I just made myself cry, brb...

I had this wonderful idea while working. So imagine this, Jason gets badly hurt, either from a motorcycle accident or fighting some goon that leads him to go into a coma. So either he dreams or his soul astro projects into another dimension and he wakes up as Uncle Ben who survives being shot. Jason is all confused and alarmed because he now has a wife? And a nephew?? But he sees said nephew and is like “holy shit, that’s a mini Dick!”

Mini Dick is named Peter and wife is named May. Jason is now Ben and is like “wtf? Who the hell named me Ben?? That’s a pathetic name!” But it’s what ever he gets use to it. He settles in with his “new” family and is really enjoying not having to deal with the pit rage. (Because he doesn’t have it here)

Jason realizes he cares about Peter a lot (And May too) as he gets to know him and spends time with him. He also realizes Bruce doesn’t exist here (no getting money from the rich bat) so May and Jason are scraping by on what ever they make.

Jason learns the reason he got shot is because Peter and him got into an argument. Peter wanted to drop out of school and get a job to help support the family, while Ben disapproves of said idea and wants Peter continue school to have a better future for himself.

Peter, in a fit of anger, runs out the house and Ben chases after him. While on the run, Peter gets stopped by a mugger and gets into a fight. (Peter doesn’t have his spider abilities) Ben catches up and protects Peter from getting shot.

Jason learns all because Peter told him and he feels like it’s his fault. (Jason can’t help but think, yep, this is definitely Dick’s kid.) Jason tells Peter it isn’t his fault and it isn’t his responsibility to take care of him and May. He tells him if Peter drops out than everything he and May worked for goes right down the drain. He convinces Peter to stay in school.

Jason wakes up from his coma and the first thing he sees is Dick’s crying face.

Dick: Jasooooon! I’m so happy you’re awake! 😭

Jason all serious: You need to knock up someone. I want my nephew.

Dick completely frozen in confusion: ??? 😦

So I’ve watched atsv enough to start noticing the smallest details and here is one that I noticed:

Before Gwen joins the spider society and leaves home she has her teal converse. You can see her wearing them in her normal day to day life but they’re not part of her spiderwoman consume.

So either somehow she got those shoes before she left her dimension to ad to her costume later and when Hobie asks later “are those my chucks?” He’s asking to tease her.

Or those really are Hobie’s shoes and she stole them because she had the same pair (which I could say she took them because they reminded her of home and she wanted at least some semblance of that. Maybe to remind her that she’s not just Spiderwoman and that she’s still Gwen even though she can’t be in her dimension with her dad who makes her her.)

But yah idk maybe I’ve just watched this movie so much I’m starting to go a little insane or something who knows.

Also, another thing about this scene, when she goes into her room she starts laying out clothes on her bed and taking them off the hangers like she’s planning outfits. And in the script it notes that she may not stay there tonight. But I’m wondering where she may have gone? Like she just got into a huge argument with her bandmates/friends, and it’s noted that she doesn’t really have any other friends besides Miles so outside of her bandmates she’s probably not close with anyone else (and not even that close with her bandmates). Where would she have gone? I’m pretty sure her mom is dead so not there. And I don’t think she would want to go Aunt May and Uncle Ben’s because she still feels guilty over Peter’s death so I think being around them would make her feel even more guilty and isolated (also I think they’re next door neighbors so she wouldn’t really have to pack to go there).

So idk, where do you guys think she was going?

So Batman would adopt Spider-man. The bright colors, acrobats and quips would remind him of early Dick and he misses when he (Dick) was just a small bean that didn’t try to fight every plan he had.

But he can’t because of Aunt May, right?

And depending on Timelines depends her age right?

What is she and Alfred were dating/got married? Old pen pals or Alfred knew her and Ben from his younger days and reconnected after the funeral to help her as the couple had helped him many years ago.

They just click. And then Bruce doesn’t have a new son, but a baby brother.

peter thinks that the Avengers have it all together because they're his teachers and they're constantly telling him to use his brain but it's really because they, for the first time, saw their own "fuck it we ball" mentality in a teenager, and thought "oh my god maybe that is like... super dangerous." like when a parent was younger and they partied a lot and sometimes got into dangerous situations and thought "this is normal" until they had a kid and they quickly realized "oh that's why my mom was insane."

that didn't make them any better, it just made them hypocrites. peter just doesn't know that because they act super responsible when he's around

Peter would never dare to try. He straight up thinks Doom would kill him (he wouldn't).

Aunt May though? She fears no man. "You want to take part in our Christmas celebrations? Then you got to wear the sweater." And Doom goes along with it because a) he DOES want to spend time with his son and b) he respects Aunt May a lot.

The Fantastic 4 later gets a Christmas letter with Peter, Aunt May and Doom on the front, wearing matching sweaters. Ben laughs so hard he almost passes out.
