#i could see them somehow killing two birds with one stone by making peter (who is to uncaringly/unknowingly violent) reallyyyy hurt someone#doubt he'd kill him but maybe he's like. the guy who accidentally makes someone (like his buddy lonnie) into a big villian#(<- because they took lonnie's albinism and a lot of things that made him who he was they're gonna have to replace it with Something??)#but with all of that? i mean i'm always for messing around with a story and changing aspects for curiosity#but i don't really...i wouldn't like that for lonnie#no idea. hope they figured something out#i do actually like the idea of peter being a little to violent ar the start of his journey due to inexperience and inner turmoil#so i didn't rlly mind that part. it's just something he'd need to fix if they won't just explain it with cartoon logic#but for the first part? yeah. don't know how to feel about his origin. :/??#anyways#only 2 episodes and a bunch of teasers ao maybe it'll be a surprise (tags by @hazmatazz)

Ya, I'm thinking the same. I'm just waiting to see where this show goes. I don't mind the different spin on the characters and their origin and story. Though, some things do bother me a little. Like, I'm 100% open to be proven wrong on my issues with this series. Especially because it just started and we just have 2 eps as of now.

Okay, there are some things that do bother me in the new Spiderman cartoon:

1 - Uncle Ben isn't in Peter's origin as Spiderman. So, he doesn't get the "with great power comes great responsibility" speech and Peter also doesn't get the guilt of being partially responsible for his uncle's death. (Idk if they will pull a MCU and make May do the speech, but without her dying, idk, we'll see) - don't know how to feel about this one atm

2 - Peter is too goddamn violent. How tf didn't he kill someone by swinging those bricks at ordinary people's head. Jesus kid, chill. (though, this can be justified by cartoon logic; at least no one died, lol - from what we know of) Also, Peter had no chill throwing Butane to a whole other building accross the street. This boy is too ready to throw hands. Though, I guess this is to show his inexperience with his powers, but still ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm already seeing people saying that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman's Peter is a Gary Stu and I just... disagree.

Like yes, I agree that usually his "Parker Luck" is worse than what happened in the first 2 eps. But, it's the first goddamn eps!!

Also, he still had some shit go wrong in ep 1 & 2, and ep 2 is literally called "The Parker Luck".

So, here's a list of things that went wrong for Pete in there 2 eps:

He was late for his train on his first day of high school. And he feels bad for making Aunt May be late to work for taking him to school.

His uncle Ben is already dead. (there's a little problem with this that I have, but it's definitely not something "lucky", lol)

His dream school is destroyed by a interdimensional demon/alien/wtv that symbiote looking-thing was and Doctor Strange.

The spider bit him, which made him faint, and funnilly enough, made him seem rude to Nico, which also seems like the first friend he ever made (at least as of now).

He gets picked on by bullies on his first day on his new school.

His crush is already in a relationship.

He is getting in trouble with his teachers because of his tardiness and absences in his classes.

His first impression at his Oscorp Intership wasn't great. One of his superiors thinks he is annoying and doesn't take him seriously, he made himself seem like a fool for saying that Norman asked to personally come to him, he lost his chance to go into robotics like he wanted. He made a cringy goodbye to his fellow interns (like it made me literally cringe, but not so much as when I saw it in the trailer... like, that was embarrassing, lol), fought an arsonist and it didn't go that well, honestly. Though, he was able to save the animals, at least. When he returned, he literally left a bad impression on everyone, except probably Doctor Connors, that seemed to be trying to cover up for him. He thinks he fucked up with his intership when Norman calls him to his office, only to find out that he fucked up even worse than he expected at first, as Norman found out his secret.

Because of the intership and Spiderman stuff, he stood up his friends at the school game and at the party, which upset Nico quite a lot.

And okay, I know this is obviously not the worst "Peter's luck" has got when compared to other versions, but he still has his "bad and fail" moments. And I'm expecting it to get worse for here on out. Especially with Norman as his mentor. Like, I'm waiting to see what will be the consequences for Peter for what happened in ep 2.

(Also, not everything needs to be and go terrible for a character in order to not be considered a Gary Stu/Mary Sue. They can have nice things happening to them or things going well for a whille before shit hits the fan.

Also, okay, bad things can happen to a Gary Stu/Mary Sue too, but I don't see what was "Gary Stu-esc" about Peter in these 2 eps.)

I just wanna see where this version of Peter and his story goes before I put definitive labels on him and it.
