wait there’s something that i’m too tired to actually fully form the thought for but i’m watching iron man 3 and in the scene where tony meets harley tony is talking about the suit like “i built him i need to take care of him” “I’ll fix him” “he’s in pain” and yeah he’s being a little quippy but those are also sincere sentiments. he wants to take care of the suit. he loves it as if it were his own, in a way. but the iron man is an extension of himself….earlier in the movie he tells pepper that the suits are a part of him. but he wouldn’t take care of his human physical form the way he takes care of the suit. or at least, he doesn’t. he does take care of the suit though. he doesn’t care much if he’s hurting, but he does care when the iron man is. it’s hard for him to love himself. but he does love the suit, and the suit is a part of him. and it’s like loving himself in a way. he can’t love himself….but this is as close as he can get to that right now. the suit is even, like…..like this specific suit, the mark 42 and its brothers, he made them to protect himself. and building all those suits wasn’t healthy but it was his brain trying to keep him safe. wrap him up in a metal embrace. he hurt himself in so many ways during this time but it’s so hard not to while living in an endless state of mental and spiritual chaos post-wormhole. and maybe a part of him wants to try to take care of himself in the wake of all this and building and loving the suit is the closest thing to loving himself he can grab onto in this moment of his life. it’s messy and self-destructive but it’s also that part of him that’s trying. a flower fighting to bloom through snow. can you feel what i’m feeling at all

People need to STOP putting steve rogers in the same mindframe as baby boomers and such. And people ALWAYS associate with the NEGATIVE aspects of said generations like hello?! Are we seeing the same person??

(And from what I know his comic personality is far, FAR more liberal and open minded than the MCU portrays him to be)

And. HES NOT OLD. People always say he's old, geriatric. He's. Not. Old.

I've seen 3 birth years, and none of them make him old! (MCU timeline or comic [keep in mind I'm not fully versed on Comic Verse]) he's in his 20s either way! I've seen the years 1918 (hed be 27 defrosted) 1920 (25 defrosted) and 1922 (23 years defrosted)

Stop. Calling. Steve. OLD.

Stop treating him like he's close minded, refusing to adapt to new times like baby boomers and other older generations.

I think steve would fit right in with Gen Z! (That's a whole other post I'm not getting into rn)

And by the way, Steve isn’t just all about “freedom! justice! the American way!” like people sometimes exaggerate. He’s not some perfect, flag-waving hero. He has doubts, he struggles, and has moments of being unsure. He’s not as rigid as people make him out to be, especially when it comes to things like the “right” way to do things.
