I feel like Hugs 33 and Touching 43 are sooo Lars coded, because he doesn’t really realize how strong he is, he’s just such a softie :,(
Hugs 33. picking them up +
Touching 43. giving them a piggyback ride
∘₊✧ Lars Lindstrom x gn!reader
∘₊✧ Pure fluff! This one ended up just a little longer than the others… also I want to thank my darling @heresthestorymorningglory for the telepathic link that finally gave me the right idea!
Tumblr media
∘₊✧────────────────✧₊∘
Gazing up at the stars glittering through the gently falling snow, you lean your head against Lars’s shoulder wish a quiet sigh. ‘I don’t know how I’ll make it back.’
‘It is magical out here at night, isn’t it?’ Lars breathes with a soft giggle.
‘It really is,’ you squeeze his gloved hand lightly with yours, ‘but I actually meant the walk back. My legs are frozen and kind of tired.’
There’s a pause then; you feel Lars tense. You think that maybe he’s unsure how to help you, and you know how that upsets him, but then he takes a deep inhale of frosty air and blurts, ‘I can carry you back if you want!’ squeezing his eyes tight shut.
The thought of being so close, safe in his arms, floods your cheeks with heat. ‘Oh… oh, Lars I couldn’t possibly-'
‘It’s okay,’ he reassures you, breath steadying and eyes blinking open to gaze down at you instead of up at the moon. ‘I don’t mind, and besides, I’m really good at it.’
‘Yeah?’
‘Yeah,’ he shrugs, ‘I used to carry Bianca a lot when she didn’t have her wheelchair. She always used to tell me that she loved how strong I am.’
You watch Lars’s cheeks flush with colour, too as he averts is gaze.
‘Alright,’ you agree casually. ‘I would love to see how strong you are.’
All the breath leaves Lars’s body at that, and you feel almost guilty for a moment, but you do so love it when he blushes. You’ve already noticed how strong he is, of course — you’ve watched him chop firewood enough times to know.
Lars turns on the spot and holds his arms out behind himself. You have to bite your lips together to keep from letting out a whine as you mount his back. Even through all the layers, he’s soft and thick and strong and sturdy. If he wasn’t holding you to him so tightly, you might swoon.
‘The stars look even more beautiful from here,’ you whisper, hot against the exposed part of his ear, and a shiver runs through his whole body.
As you finally approach the warm lights of the house and his garage apartment, he carefully sets you down, slips off his woolly hat and unfastens the front of his coat.
‘May I?’
He holds his arms out in front of him this time, and smiles at you as you tilt your head, curious. It’s a handsome smile, lips curling up slightly more at one side, genuine and warm. It’s almost hypnotising. And the next thing you know, Lars is carrying you bridal style into his apartment.
Once you’re back on the ground, and Lars has shed his coat and the little blanket from around his neck, he smiles at you again, with an extra twinkle in his eye.
‘Are your legs too tired to dance?’

how are you feeling about the flyers draft picks/activities? i don’t hate luchanko but i would’ve rather seen them trade up to the 20s for him with a future second and/or 3rd round pick (or laughton or something) + 32. i can’t believe they passed on buium so I’m hoping they knew something we didn’t about him. i’m doing my best to trust in danny but i’m skeptical of his first round.
I feel great. I feel incredible. I was pretty uncertain and definitely shocked re: Luchanko at first but I've changed my mind. Danny made the right moves and while I might be upset that we didn’t get Buium or Helenius (and I am especially upset that we didn't get Dickinson but that's on the Sharks who I am pissy at rn. I promise in like three days i will be very excited to see him in teal), I see the vision. This is long term.
Here are just some of the first quotes I’ve found on Jett Luchanko:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Guy seems to me like a power-play oriented, playmaking, speed-skating, young Morgan Frost. Suzuki, and apparently Luchanko, are net front danger zone scorers, and Luchanko clearly seems disposed to pass first, playmake, and score in exactly the same zone that Michkov likes to score in. Net front. Behind the net. Michigans. (Watch that video I just linked! Look where he scores from!) Everything I'm reading here seems like he’s tailor-made to playmake for Michkov - and if he’s not? Well, this wasnt exactly a big swing, was it? We traded back and traded away, which was THE THING I SAID WE SHOULD DO, LIKE, A MONTH AGO:
Tumblr media
Here's that link, in case you don't believe me.
We might not have traded to a shit team, but we still got the 2025 pick. Everything I said in that post is still applicable. This was "not the draft for big swings." So we didn't take a big swing. Danny took a guy that the Flyers clearly seem to think is a fantastic possible center for Michkov, which is, and should be, their top priority. One of the main criticisms that fans had of the Giroux era was that the Flyers didn't surround him with the talent he needed to succeed, and we don't want to make that mistake this time around?
The problem is that this isn't the draft that's full of that elite talent. Some of them, maybe. The Flyers very clearly wanted to trade up for Lindstrom, but CBJ didn't bite, because they wanted Lindstrom, and I get it. Lindstrom is a fantastic center. So they took the next best center for Michkov, who turned out to be Luchanko. It was what they wanted out of this draft – Michkov's center, or at least a possible one. He wasn't the best player available – clearly, since they traded away from Buium, and gained a 2025 3rd rounder in the process (nice!) – but he is a phenomenal choice for Michkov. And if he doesn't pan out? Well, it's a good thing we didn't trade up for him.
Now, 2025. This is the deep draft. This is the draft that does have that elite talent. And we may have 6 picks in the first and second rounds.
Tumblr media
Now that is the draft for big swings. Michkov is coming over this season. We move as few pieces as possible. Who does he work well with on the team? Who doesn't click? How does his play fit, where are the gaps, what do we still need with him on the wing? How does he feel? What and/or who does he need, personally? Three first-round picks in 2025 mean that you have a LOT OF ROOM TO WORK WITH. I assume Luchanko doesn't go to the NHL this season – haven't seen anything to suggest he will, and with the general quality of this draft being one that still needs time, it's fair to assume that he'll stay with the Guelph Storm in the OHL. So when we watch him play in Canada this year and see how he improves and how he communicates with the Flyers, and see Michkov on the ice in orange, we'll have an idea of what we need in 2025. Do we keep the PHI, COL, EDM picks where they are? (My guesses are 14, 25, 32. Quote me!) Or do we package them and trade up? That's a big swing in a deep draft full of huge talents. 25+32 to trade to 20. 20+14 to trade up to 5, or 4. Or maybe 25+32 is enough to get us up front. 10, even. And then once you have that high pick - like we saw today, anyone can fall. We saw it with Michkov last year. Imagine.
I love this draft. I think Danny cooked. I think this was a long-term vision and I'm stoked for Jett Luchanko. Welcome to Philly, bud! I can't wait.

Lyrics:
All this time, all this time keeps fading
Feeling trapped inside
So afraid of the darkness talking
In my mind
It's been a long time coming
But it wasn't for nothing
Soul-searching for something, for something
Yeah, I just wanna feel alive with you
I'm down on my knees in the dust
I scream from the top of my lungs
I find my way back to a higher ground
Yeah, I just wanna feel alive
Deep in my bones
I know I'm not there but I'm close
I find my way back to a higher ground
Yeah, I just wanna feel alive with you
Yeah, I just wanna feel alive
Try to speak but my voice keeps breaking
Need to say what's wrong
So many smiles you have seen me faking
On and on
It's been a long time coming
But it wasn't for nothing
Soul-searching for something, for something
Yeah, I just wanna feel alive with you
I'm down on my knees in the dust
I scream from the top of my lungs
I find my way back to a higher ground
Yeah, I just wanna feel alive
Deep in my bones
I know I'm not there but I'm close
I find my way back to a higher ground
Yeah, I just wanna feel alive with you

I have literally sat on this for about 18 hours (and spent the entirety of my work day thinking about it. I’m impressed I got any work done or that no one asked me what was wrong).
At first, I hated that apparently Liv and Amanda haven’t talked. I mean, we can at least assume that they have physical seen each other in a while considering Amanda is obviously pregnant and Liv didn’t know (course though Amanda was probably like 5ish months when she finally told Liv about Jesse and who knows how far along with Billie bc that whole timeline is just a mess that I don’t want to dig through). I refuse to believe they haven’t at least texted or talked on the phone.
But atlas, if we’re to believe that they really haven’t spoken since Amanda left or if they have, it was probably terse and short. To an extent, I can get it.
These are two women who have been through so damn much, taken advantaged of by men, groomed in Liv’s case, assaulted, kidnapped, shot at (actually shot twice in Amanda’s case and probably actually shot in Liv’s case if that promo says anything), had crappy childhoods, toxic family environments, had everyone walk out on them (parents, partners, relationships) and they’re fucking traumatized and don’t like to deal with the root of their traumas with their therapists. (I need Lindstrom and Hanover to stage an intervention or something)
Amanda and Liv are easily one of the most, if not the most important relationships in each other lives and is one of the strongest and realistic portrayals of female friendships that I’ve seen in media. They care so deeper about each other and that but it wasn’t always like that; they had a rocky start and have come a long way since season 13. Sure things may be rocky again right now; but that doesn’t change the fact about how loyal they are to each other at their cores.
We’ve seen how Liv reacts when people leave her; she’s shuts down closes herself off and doesn’t reach out. So yes, she’s happy for Amanda and understands that Amanda had to make that decision to leave; but it doesn’t change the fact that it was just another person who walked out on Liv (and then didn’t reach out when she said she wouldn’t just disappear).
Shit, Stabler walked out on her, didn’t even have the balls to tell her he was leaving (she found out from Cragen) and then he shows up a decade later and blows up her life, they spend the next year and half in a weird fucking whiplash nonsense. Liv never dealt with Stabler leaving - she as much as tells Amanda that in the hotel room and then he shows back up and things are weird. Liv doesn’t reach out, doesn’t make contact because a part of her still thinks she’s gonna open up to him again, get close to him again and he’s gonna leave again.
I can see Liv not at first reaching out to Amanda to give her time to settle cause even Liv knows Amanda doesn’t like change; but at the same time, Liv is still an NYPD Captain and has an entire precinct to manage - communication is probably gonna be slim pickings; but a few weeks go by, maybe a month. Maybe, just maybe, Liv is transported back to that June day in 2011 when Cragen told her Elliot put his papers in, she goes back to those days, weeks, months, years following of no contact.
Liv roughly knew Elliot and Amanda for the same amount of time before they left (the only major difference in how they left is that Amanda told her) and maybe Liv thinks she’s re-living that same thing again and she can’t do that again. And so in true Olivia Benson nature, she closes off and doesn’t reach out. Doesn’t make that first move because she can’t be hurt again by another person she cares about even though she wants to and she misses her best friend but there’s also something hat won’t let her break the communication barrier, so Liv does the next best things and asks/gets updates about Amanda through Carisi - still waiting for Amanda to make that contact.
Similarly, we know how Amanda deals with trauma - she closes off and she deals with people leaving her by lashing out. Choosing to leave SVU was probably the hardest fucking decision Amanda Rollins had to make - because this squad, these people, became her family over her tenure there; Liv and Carisi were the ones who broken down her ways and are the reason she started letting people in. When you let people in, you get attached and then changes are a bitch.
There was nothing keeping Amanda in Altana, so leaving there was probably easy; but Fin and Liv and the familiarity - they are reasons to want to stay at SVU - but Jesse and Billie and Carisi are the reasons to leave. There’s gonna be a pull about what’s the right reason and what’s the wrong reason and even now, especially now, Amanda probably feels guilty about leaving; because she feels like she abandoned Liv. Hell, barely a month after Amanda left, Liv got jumped in the fucking street.
There’s no doubt in my mind that Amanda wanted to reach out to Liv - she was just scared of letting Liv down, this woman who she looked up when she first came to svu and who has become such an important part of her life and is her children’s godmother. She loves and respects Liv’s so damn much and I think it terrifies Amanda that she could be letting her down by doing what’s best for herself - (even if Liv would never hold that against her)
Amanda is also probably busy as hell what with a new job and new baby on the way, maybe even apartment/house hunting - and then time goes by and suddenly it’s been too long and reaching out probably feels like the wrong decision because you waited too long. Maybe Amanda also tells herself that if Liv cared, she’d reach out herself.
Also Amanda’s spent her entire life knowing that being independent and not relying on people is the only way to live. Yes, she’s been working past that - but a couple of years of therapy are not gonna just undo decades worth of trauma and damage that go as deep as Amanda’s. There’s gonna be back pedals too. A lot of them.
That scene at the end of Organized Crime says so damn much even beyond the words that Amanda and Liv say and Mariska and Kelli play it so fucking well. You can tell they still love and respect each other, you can tell Liv’s happy for Amanda (and Carisi) but still hurt at the lack of contact, you can tell Amanda fells guilty for not reaching out.
So that leaves Amanda and Liv in this weird limbo of what do we do now. And it’s gonna take some effort, but they’ll get back to where they were because at their core that love and respect isn’t going anywhere.

Prioritise Pleasure part 2
Lars Lindstrom x afab!reader
∘₊✧ 1.5k words - part 1 - masterlist
Summary: Lars is feeling bold and wants to take things a step further
Author’s notes: You don’t need to read part 1 for this to make sense, but it would add to the juiciness. When I wrote part 1, I never really intended to end it the way I did, and I couldn’t get the bath out of my mind, so here it is. If you’re left wondering when you get to the end of this one, yes, there will be a part 3! Shout out to the wonderful @heresthestorymorningglory for the encouragement and Goosecord for keeping my ideas horny!
Warnings/content: nsfw, fingering in the bath, unintentional edging, nipple play

Lars turned his gaze down to the bubbles floating around him when you dropped your towel. The orgasm you’d given him only half an hour ago might have brought you closer than you’d ever been, but you hadn’t seen one another naked yet, and more than anything else, Lars was respectful.
He did peek cautiously through one eye as you stepped into the water, though, just to make sure you didn’t slip as you stepped into the tub and settled yourself between his thighs.
His eyes squeezed shut, head spinning at how quickly everything had moved tonight. He never expected you to really want to touch him like that, and he never imagined he would end up naked with you, either.
But he liked it. And to his own surprise, he wanted more.
‘You can, uh… you can… lay on me if you want,’ he breathed shakily, shifting himself up to give you room to get comfortable. ‘A-against my chest?’
You nodded and laid back, sighing as the silky water enveloped you, Lars’s chest just as warm and soft against your back.
Your head dropped to rest comfortably against his shoulder and you could feel his every movement. You’d cuddled plenty before, building up his confidence and tolerance with touch the more you got to know one another, but never skin to skin, never so intimately, and you could tell he was forcing his breath even.
‘M-may I… touch you?’ he uttered, knuckles white as he gripped the edge of the tub so tight he could have cracked the enamel.
‘Mmhm,’ you hummed, serene and relaxed, nodding your head back against his shoulder as though it was the easiest decision in the world, and it calmed him a little.
Slowly, the fingers of his left hand uncurled from the edge of the tub, the other still holding on tight as if for dear life, and he shakily placed his palm to your shoulder.
You sighed dreamily at the gentle pressure, and Lars squeezed his eyes shut tight again, finding himself breathless.
You let him stay there for a while, taking this at his own pace and getting used to so much of you pressed flush against so much of him.
When his breathing eventually evened and slowed, you slid a hand up out of the water and placed it carefully over his, squeezing gently.
He flinched at first, which wasn’t unusual, and he soon relaxed into the sensation, so you pulled his hand lower, down to your chest.
Lars tensed.
‘Are you ok with this?’ you whispered, unmoving.
‘Yes,’ he choked out.
‘Lars?’
‘Hmm?’ he answered, a high pitched, cracked hum.
‘Where do you want to touch me?’
You smirked, picturing the embarrassed glow on his cheeks. But Lars was feeling bold.
‘I, uh… I want to make you…y’know-’
‘Cum?’
Under a heavy breath, Lars whined out, ‘You have to stop saying that so casually.’ It made him feel dizzy when you spoke like that.
‘Are you ready?’
There was a pause then, where Lars tried hard to focus on the fact that you must want him to touch you too, but it was hard to do that when his head was swimming with thoughts about whether you’d thought about this before, whether he’d be any good at it, whether he could manage to keep his hand on you long enough to find out.
But he found his way through it eventually, and gave a simple, ‘Yes.’
‘Alright. Do you trust me?’ you asked gently.
This time his reply was immediate. ‘Yes.’
You pulled his hand lower, beneath the water, resting his palm against your stomach while you spread your legs over his and planted your feet on his shins, your knees surfacing above the water as you settled into position for him.
‘You’re sure you want to do this?’ you checked in one last time, feeling him nod eagerly behind you.
He knew if he spoke he’d embarrass himself with a moan, or just sound impatient, and he wanted this to be perfect for you.
Lars held his breath as you dragged his hand down to the apex of your thighs, his thick, long fingers instinctively stroking your folds as soon as it arrived there.
You hummed, and Lars gasped at your response – and the way you felt under his fingertips, silky and warm, even beneath the water.
You guided his fingers up slightly until they were positioned right over your clit, where he quickly learned the pressure and speed you seemed to like and found his rhythm, eyes wide at the way you melted against him.
He might be nervous to do this with you, but he knew for sure he was excellent at taking good care of you, and wasn’t this just another way to do that? To fulfil your needs like a good boyfriend should?
‘Does that feel good?’ he cooed, confidence soaring despite the heat in his cheeks.
You hummed out something like a yes, and his fingers, massaging in slow, gentle circles, pressed a little firmer, moved a little faster.
You jolted up at the delicious change of pace, water sloshing around the tub as you dropped back to him and rocked your hips up into his touch.
‘You like that?’ he asked, so incredibly innocently, yet with such an undertone of impatience – the impatience he tried hard not to let out – that your blood boiled with desire.
‘Yes- YES!-’
As you cried out he all but stopped, stroking through your folds again so slowly it was almost painful. Each time his fingertips grazed your sensitive nub, you shuddered and he slipped his fingers away again.
‘Lars- please-’ you tried, but he just chuckled.
You never had Lars down as a tease, but his fingers felt so good you could hardly complain. And was it teasing, really, or was he just enjoying this new sensation as much as you were?
You briefly wondered if he’d ever practised this on Bianca, but the question was answered by his inexperience as quickly as you’d formulated it.
‘H-how do I- uh-’
You knew what he wanted and placed your fingers tenderly over his again, guiding him to your entrance this time.
‘Oh!’ he gasped. ‘You’re… you feel so… wet.’
He dragged your slick around gently before carefully pushing a finger inside.
‘It doesn’t hurt, does it? I can take it out if-’
‘Not at all,’ you reassured him, hardly able to finish the sentence without a quiet moan escaping.
Lars pumped his finger just once, still careful despite your encouragement. It seemed to feel good, so he tried it again, and again, until he was fucking into you hard and fast, relishing in the way you gripped his wrist beneath the water and how you were grinding against the heel of his palm as he pumped his finger.
Your free hand reached behind you, pushing your fingers up to mess up his perfectly combed, soft, thick hair, feeling his mustache brush against your neck as he planted tender kisses along the sensitive flesh there.
‘I’ve got you,’ he whispered, hot against your ear, voice husky and thick with lust. You could feel his erection pressing into your back and wondered if he might want to take this another step further before the night was out or whether that would be too much for him.
But for now, you were on the verge of seeing stars, intoxicated with his strong hands and tender kisses and the way he was touching you almost expertly despite never having touched anyone like this before.
His finger curled up inside you as the hand clutching the rim of the tub began to grope at you instead, kneading, squeezing, massaging everywhere he could reach, and ending with his thumb roughly stroking over a nipple.
‘Oh- yes, that’s it- oh, Lars!’
Water splashed out of the tub as you thrashed against him. He tried to keep you still with the hand pressed to your chest as he worked you through your release, but he was feeling weak himself.
A needy little whine escaped his throat as you dropped back. His cock was leaking steadily into the water now; the friction of you writhing against him in pleasure had simply been too much, along with the knowledge that his finger was buried inside you. And the way you’d moaned his name.
Everyone’s favourite word was their own name, after all.
He put his own pleasure aside though, hoping you hadn’t noticed, fighting the urge to rut against you as you had come undone for him.
‘Are you okay?’ he panted. ‘I didn’t hurt you did I?’
You shook your head, breathless.
‘Did I make you-’
‘Cu-’
‘Feel good,’ Lars jumped in before you could say it again. He might not last if you said a dirty word right now.
‘Incredible,’ you chuckled.
There was a comfortable silence as you laid together in the gradually cooling water, the bubbles that had once covered Lars’s modesty slowly melting away around you.
Lars was comfortable, at least, despite the tension growing in his lower belly. And the heat, and the need.
‘Lars,’ you tried quietly, and he whimpered. ‘Do you need something?’
‘Hmm?’
‘Come on, don’t be shy,’ you soothed. ‘It’s getting cold in here. Let’s grab a towel and make a fire. Warm up together. What do you say?’
Lars didn’t have anything to say. He just swallowed hard.

We Are Water Protectors
Tumblr media
We Are Water Protectors is the winner of the 2021 Caldecott Medal and is a best seller. The target audience for this book is children aged 3 to 7. This book was written by Carole Lindstrom and Illustrated by Michaela Goade and was created to bring attention to the climate crisis and the efforts of the Indigenous communities to protect the earth, particularly the Earth's water. The book is about a young Native American girl who along with her tribe is determined to protect the water and land from a black snake that will essentially poison it. We Are Water Protectors also demonstrates peaceful protesting and the importance of activism. The book gives representation to Indigenous cultures and discusses the importance standing up for what you believe in.
I chose to review this book because climate change and activism can be difficult topics to discuss with children even though it's important. Often times what is shown on tv or on the news is scary or confusing and not the best way to introduce a topic. However, this book is educational without being overwhelming and not only educates children about protecting the environment but it is also a great way to educate children about Native cultures.
For this review I will be evaluating: Illustrations, Accuracy, Style and Language.
Illustrations: The illustrations in this book compliment the topic of the story and reinforce the written text. The story begins with an elder telling native American folklore about the water and mother earth. The illustrator uses different shades of blue to represent the water that is being protected, and hues of purple and white to represent the sacred land. While these illustrations are well executed and made me feel like I was also on the sacred land, the most significant illustration for me was the last page where the Indigenous community is protesting. The attention to detail made me feel like I was protesting alongside them.
Accuracy: This story was written in response to the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) which violated the Fort Laramie Treaty, disturbing the reservation lands surrounding the pipeline. According to Native Knowledge, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe advocated that the DAPL would threaten the survival of the Tribe and destroy valuable resources (Native Knowledge, 2018). The author and illustrator did a great job of depicting this real-life event in a story book for kids without it being too overwhelming. While the DAPL is not explicitly stated in the story, it is seen in the illustrations at the end of the story as protestors hold signs that say “No DAPL” and “Stand with Standing Rock”. The author and illustrator also included information about the dangers of oil pipelines and Standing Rock at the end of the story in the author’s note which gives parents the option to have that discussion with their children. The story did well in accurately representing the fight against the DAPL.
Style and Language: As mentioned, climate change and activism can be heavy topics. Lindstrom uses a direct and lyrical style to emphasize the importance of protecting the water and the earth. She uses metaphors such as “Tears like waterfalls” and uses personification by describing the water as being alive. Using figurative language, the author allows the reader to make an emotional connection with the message that is being told in the story in an engaging way..
Describing an oil pipeline and its negative impacts might be difficult to do with young readers but by using vocabulary that they may be familiar with makes it simpler. For example, using the black snake to represent something harmful might be easier for them to make a connection with the dangers of a pipeline. Using words like “poison” and “venom” along with the illustrations is a powerful way to describe something dangerous of having something like a snake in sacred water. Additionally, the author uses Indigenous vocabulary to refer to the girl’s grandmother. She also speaks of spirit, ancestors, and sacredness which are also impactful ways to expand the readers language and curiosity.
