Random Ted Lasso thought of the evening: I think Roy and Matthijs would really get along. Now. I hesitate to say this because I know that moment is BIG controversial, and you may tear me up for this....but the whole leaving Rebecca alone as she showers and giving her space to freshen up whilst he goes to grab groceries, making sure to leave behind a warm pot of fresh tea is BIG Roy vibes...and the "It's not drugged--I promise" note is...dare I say... soooo Roy's sense of humor? Also when Rebecca describes what happened and shares that Matthijs cooked her a gorgeous meal paired perfectly to the right bottle of wine, Roy would very much nod approvingly and be all, "Good man" *nod nod.* Or if he comes in to drop off Biscuits (Roy's Version) and notices Rebecca's all off because she's freaking out at Matthijs' return when she thought she'd never see him again and how much she wants to be with him but how would that even work when he lives on a boat in Amsterdam and she's here in Richmond busy owning a football club, and...Roy'd be first to encourage her to get out of her own way and give it a chance, the same way she did for him <3<3

I'm sorry but we need to talk about Dutch boat guy..

because I still don't understand how people are fine with this storyline. Not even for romance's sake.

I know the whole thing with him and Rebecca was written (last minute) to have her in a different state of mind. I know she needed some time away from everyone and everything. I get that.

But I can't stop being offended on Rebecca's behalf, because I don't know any woman in her right mind, who would act like that. We're not speaking of a "first date went great, now let's hook up"-kind of situation, because they barely talked before she got on board. He could have offered her a blanket instead and help her get a cab so she can go back to her hotel room and change. Now THAT would have been a nice and cute gesture.

But NOPE the writers wanted her to have a shower on this random guy's boat, who she knows like full five minutes and who is insistent that she drinks his weird tea that's "definitely not drugged", kisses her foot and (for me at least) gives clear stranger danger vibes. And I'm not even taking into account that last line he muttered to himself, which was confusing and creepy af. She couldn't even call for help if she wanted to because she lost her phone!

I don't know how this could happen... I'm SURE they didn't want to convey this but they (inadvertently or not) did.

If they wanted her to spend the night talking with this guy, they could have let her drop her phone into the canal. She wouldn't find her way back, boat guy could be a café guy who offers her a warm drink - they have a connection whatever - she stays at his café and then he walks her back to the hotel after closing. Just.. let it happen in public and make it make sense!

but oh no this means she wouldn't see his daughters room and wouldn't be able to see the connection to Trish's predictions! oh NOW you're worried about predictions and hints - what about the fucking green matchbook

Some of y'all are too mean to Dutch Boat Guy. Like damn if you don't want Rebecca to have a nice guy who will make sure she feels safe and comfortable, makes excellent tea and is a good cook, takes care of her and encourages her to be silly, and apparently gives amazing foot rubs, then damm I'll take him.

Unpopular opinion, also I might be drunk:

I don't ship Ted and Rebecca together.

I'm sorry to disappoint, but they do have twin souls. They're one and the same. But there one thing that life thought me is that it never ends well when you are with you twin. You have to find someone that challenges you and that feels every gap of your personality. That why I think that Matthijs, the Dutch dude, is her perfect match. He destabilizes her in a good way. Thats how she's going to evolve. Also he will give he the chance to be a mother or at least a step-mother.

All this is coming from a girl who is desperately trying to find her other half and no one seems to fit. Maybe I just like Matthijs because he's the kind of man I would want.
