Recently Viewed: Willy’s Wonderland
Tumblr media
In Willy’s Wonderland, Nicolas Cage plays a badass, taciturn janitor forced to spend the night cleaning a Chuck E. Cheese style family restaurant while battling possessed animatronic mascots—and really, that should tell you everything you need to know about the film’s artistic ambitions and overall quality. Cage has become a genre in and of himself at this point in his career, and he’s embraced his status as a living meme wholeheartedly. Here, he manages to ham it up without uttering a single line of dialogue—an Oscar-worthy achievement in overacting. His unironic commitment to the otherwise underdeveloped role elevates the thinly-written material, more than compensating for the clunky screenplay, cheap visual effects, and lackluster fight choreography. Honestly, his performance probably singlehandedly redeems the entire movie; the character wouldn’t have been nearly as entertaining had he been played by, for example, Sharknado’s Ian Ziering or some other SyFy Channel veteran. Cage simply delivers the perfect blend of zany camp and genuine gravitas; he is the sovereign of schlock, the king of critical flops, the Olivier of box office bombs—a true treasure of trash cinema.

Five Nights at Freddy’s was always going to be a huge smash whether it was great or not and I will say at minimum that these suits have never looked better. Any time someone pays Matt Lillard they earn more leeway.

Do you have voice claims/headcanons of your Riddler and Penguin?
I’ve been thinking about it but I don’t have a very strong claim/headcanon? ( I also don’t really know many people ) for Penguin I think Matt Berry is fun but his voice maybe too deep for my penguin so Robin Lord Taylor also fits
for riddler maybe Mathew Lillard ( I saw scream 1996 and couldn’t stop thinking about how he’d make a great riddler )

FNAF MOVIE REVIEW: 7/10
Yeah, I like it! Its campy and dumb but I had a fun time. Best scene in the whole movie was just the building of the fort with the child animatronics. They never show a death other than will's directly, but its pg13, and they knew a lot of younger kids could watch, I cant exactly blame them for wanting to keep it on the cleaner side.
All the puppetry on the animatronics was really good! They managed to get that creepy mechanical feel during the horror scenes and give them a lot more childish feeling movements in the scenes where we see them interact with abby.
The way they adapted the story to the screen isn't bad at all, though it certainly has its plotholes. I was left with a fair amount of questions after the movie. Did no one notice the aunt's dead body? Did mike manage to get another new job? How did will recognize mike's incredibly common last name? Why did William Afton come to Nebraska to kill a kid?
Sad michael afton isnt a thing in the movie timeline but a vanessa afton replacing him was interesting. It fits her role considering she wasnt in this part of the timeline in the games, and I definitely think its an interesting concept, but it definitely weakens mike's character a little. Especially since it kind of felt like thats the gut punch they were leading up to with will's recognition and seeming will to keep him alive (with the animatronics not attacking him until he doesnt agree to give them abby. But they couldnt know abby was a person until she showed up, they couldn't have wanted her the whole time.)
Matt Lillard steals any scene he was in, frankly underutilized he was great on his own.
Is the movie perfect? No.
Is the movie game lore accurate? No.
But the movie from the get go seemed to want to be its own thing, and while it is not perfect it is fun and campy, and I think if they built on it with a sequel honestly it could have more potential. I just dont know where they'd go when they seemingly wrapped up mikes personal arc, even if certain plot threads involving him were left dangling. So yeah, 7/10. Might watch again at some point.

I've been enjoying people's varying depictions of William Afton's character, notably Matt Lillard's William drawn in street clothes and/or a sports cap, which reminds me of Mr. Robot.
The deranged cereal slasher interpretations with unkempt over-grown hair and scarred faces are great too.

night 23!
date night with @a-little-bit-poss tonight, we're watching scream and human centipede: the musical
it's been a long time since i watched scream last, few things i remembered upon seeing it again
matt lillard is a riot as stu, so so funny i was laughing at his delivery constantly
i kinda forgot the explicit references to basically every slasher movie ever made
henry winkler's in this one???
WOW were billy and stu ever bisexual and hooking up together
human centipede: the musical is a totally different experience to the movie, it's a really charming college production and it's got some great comedy in it and you should watch it right now
youtube
i can't describe how much i need people to watch this claire watched it with me and we had a great time and i'm so so tired of being like the only person who knows about it
trying to really commit to watching a horror movie every night of october (attempted many times, never completed)
watched aliens with @straponomics tonight, my verdict is that it's basically the perfect movie for weird dykes

so i definitely forgot to post these pictures from...over a month ago
i can't believe i got to meet the OG scream cast!!! they were all so lovely. i wasn't able to get neve's autograph because she had to catch a flight, but she was so sweet in the few moments i did get to interact with her. and WOW she is even more gorgeous in person 😍
jamie kennedy was totally obsessed with my "final girl" shirt and kept saying "*i* should have been the final girl!!!" he also did the "traffic" rap from malibu's most wanted when i asked if i could take a picture of his shirt for my friend who is tragically obsessed with that movie
matthew lillard and skeet ulrich were absolutely wonderful. the con was a total clusterfuck, but they handled it with patience, kindness, and joy. they made sure everyone got their turn to say hello, get a handshake (or a bear hug), and a picture or an autograph.
matthew made sure that those with small children didn't get stuck in line all day, kept everyone's spirits up by playing music, and at one point took off running to personally return a photo to someone who left it behind.
skeet regularly checked in with his line, made sure everyone was okay, and he even rescheduled his flight to stay late!
they both stayed well past the time that the con was supposed to close, and stayed even while the event staff was breaking down the other booths and tables. they signed and smiled all day, with few breaks but no complaints. it seemed like they were genuinely happy to meet every single fan. they also seemed super happy to be hanging out with each other, regularly popping over to each other's tables to goof around.
matthew gave me possibly one of the longest, squeeziest hugs of my life (while saying "don't let go! don't let go!" so the girl at his table could get pictures of him pulling faces behind my back), and skeet helped me decipher matthew's very creative scribbling of my name where he signed my photo (by taking my signed photo op to his table and asking "hey matt, what the hell is this?!") these guys are just the absolute best. they made what could have been a really shitty day a great experience in the end ❤️

What did you think of the new trailer? I'm cautiously optimistic!
I am... actually kind of torn, but I’ll discuss the more negative stuff in another post. Mainly because the REASON I’m concerned it will have some major issues are tied to some Major Spoilers I came across in October last year that I would be talking about within said post. And when I say Major Spoilers, I really do mean as in, “Entire Movie Plot Spoiled” type of spoilers, and I know people want to go in with fresh eyes. That will be under a ‘Read More’ and with several layers of warnings to them when I do post it.
On the positive hopeful side? The animation and character designs are GLORIOUS. I love the updates for Blue Falcon and Dynomutt (Blue Falcon’s costume featuring more detailed designs to the bird theme - feathered armor, more color balance, claw gloves/boots, and the feathered cape - and Dynomutt actually... you know... LOOKING like a robotic dog), and while I’m on the fence on Dick Dastardly, I’ll admit he does look a LOT more menacing than he did before.
On the whole, I generally enjoy the gang’s designs, and how emotive their animation is - the studio here is NOT afraid to go for weird/stretchy facial animations, and I love it.
The trailer also features a widely colorful production, even with darker surroundings/settings, so at least it’ll be a treat to look at. Music seems okay right now, but that one is literally more of a ‘wait and see’ than anything else. Also the framing is really nice - very diverse assortment of perspectives, framing, etc., so hopefully it will keep that up for the film in a way that works with the story.
One downside for me right now, weirdly enough, is the voice cast. I’m probs always gonna be in a weird spot on Will Forte’s Shaggy (bc let’s be honest, Matt Lillard is KING here), but the more emotional clips out of him are pretty good, so I’ll let it stand as a ‘wait-and-see’. Weirdly enough, Zac Efron’s Fred has grown on me with the latest trailer - he still sounds like Zac Efron, but he works surprisingly well. Dee Dee Sykes and Blue Falcon sound great, and Dick Dastardly, tho only one line to him, sounds like he’ll be a TON of fun by vocal performance alone.
No, the bigger negatives, weirdly enough, are Velma and Daphne. Amanda Seyfried is in an odd spot, where she sounds right for the general character description, but not for those who know her? if that makes sense? Like, the voice fits the character archtype but not necessarily the character as we’ve come to know her. She kind of sounds like a young Heather North Daphne, so it’s not too far off - it just sounds a little strange.
Velma though? Gina Rodriguez sounds NOTHING like Velma. She just doesn’t have that nasal twang that Velma has ALWAYS had, from the very beginning of the show to even newer productions like Be Cool and Guess Who. When she said Jinkies in the new trailer, it just sounded WRONG. I imagine the performance itself will be okay, but there’s nothing to it that says Velma at ALL, which is immensely disappointing.
At the end of the day though? I still feel hopeful for the movie in general - the flashback scenes alone pretty much guarantee I have something to love about the movie, even if there are other parts I am... IMMENSELY concerned for. If nothing else, it won’t be as bad as Return to Zombie Island was 😬😬😬
It should also help to bring it more people to the fandom as a whole, and I’m always up for new folks coming in. 😁

This was my day <3 I can die happy now that I met Matthew Lillard. He was so  sweet and liked my drawing and even asked if I went to art school because he said it showed <3333 Ted was a sweetie too! I wish I could’ve talked to him more about horror movies because he was so cool to talk to. This was just a great day, despite my headache throughout the day and waiting 2 hours in line for Matt. Worth it! Worth the drive, worth the money, it was so worth it I had a great day!
Plus Matt gave me a cute shoulder squeeze and was just so sweet I’m still not over it omg

Top 3 Favorite and Least Favorite Films
Got tagged by @husband-of-lucoa for this one. I have way too many favorite films and least liked films to list this, but I will list down the 3 that stand up and warms my heart & the 3 that makes me wish that I didn’t waste my time and money in hindsight. Not tagging anybody, but feel free to make this list when you have the time.
3 Favorite Films
The Wizard of Oz (MGM, 1939)
Tumblr media
This legendary classic is a masterpiece in itself. The story, while simple, is easy to follow and you can’t help but to root for Dorothy as she tries to return back to Kansas and the journey she & her friends have to go through to have a fulfilling end. The characters are memorable and charming (yes, even the Wicked Witch is memorable for being an effective threatening villain), the move to have all but the Kansas portions in color is a great choice (since this was released at the tail end of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl was then a fresh memory for many), and the songs are so amazing to hear (Somewhere Under the Rainbow, anyone?). It’s been since I watched it, but it still has a great place in my heart. Heck, my Film and Literature class in college even watched this for class for a film stylistics discussion.
Beauty and the Beast (Disney, 1991)
Tumblr media
And here we have an animated Disney classic: Heck, where else did I got Belle as a favorite Disney character & Disney Princess and a f/o? I admired all the hard work from the cast and the crew to make this quite a thought provoking film which still holds up to this day: from the heartwarming take on finding inner beauty and love without hammering it in to the lovable and likeable characters to the stunning animation to the memorable songs to the fact that Howard Ashman was determined to have the film not getting canned and writing songs while dying from AIDs. The last one made me admiring Ashman even more with his work ethics and tenacity. I’m pretty pissed that Disney tried to sully my memories of the film and Belle with the soulless 2017 remake, but that won’t ever top my love for the animated hit as it did to make me hate its wasted existence.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (Disney and Walden Media, 2005)
Tumblr media
Whoever thought that a book series that acts as an allegory of Christianity would earn me an underrated classic? As weird as it sounds, I loved the 2005 film (even thought this had to wait until 2006 to be released in my country (the Philippines) because of the Metro Manila Film Festival hogging the Christmas cinema slot as it always do) and it lives up to the spirit of the books (and the first one the most). I enjoy the performances of the actors (including Liam Neeson and Tilda Swinton as Aslan and Jadis the White Witch respectively), the well balanced mix of real-time SFX and CGI effects (which is getting under-appreciated these days), and the good message of good overcoming evil & Edmund’s character arc so much. I did watched Prince Caspian and Dawn Treader, but they didn’t impress me as much as this one. Too bad the film series is in limbo, because I want to see if they can do The Silver Chair, The Magician’s Nephew, The Horse and His Boy, and The Last Battle justice.
3 Least Favorite Films
Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs 2 (Sony Pictures Animation and Columbia Pictures, 2012)
Tumblr media
Oh God, what was I thinking when I first watched this disaster? I unironically like the first film because it is so ridiculously weird it can be enjoyable in some areas, but this film is such a miserable mess. Considering this was from pre-Into the Spider-verse SPA, it is such a travesty in many places that even AniMat gave it the Seal of Garbage in his review of it. The animation, while creativite, can be an eye sore for many, there are too much food puns, the characters are now dumb down into mere stereotypes (thought I love Manny the Crazy-Prepared Guatemalan Cameraman, Chicken Brent, Steve the Monkey, and Berry the Strawberry), and the environment message felt like it was thrown in the last moment. Jesus! Luckily, Phil Lord and Chris Miller would move onto do the LEGO Movie and the 21 Jump Street films, although Sony didn’t get the message for a long time until Spider-verse’s success that stuff like this doesn’t guarantee them long-term success and fans alike.
Looney Tunes: Back in Action (Warner Bros., 2003)
Tumblr media
Why is that I put a gif of OOC!Shaggy and Scooby harassing Matt Lillard for the live action films here? This film is a total wreck and that scene in the studio restaurant made Shaggy & Scooby look and act like douchebags more than in their series! I hated the fact that it was made by the guy who made Gremlins, the first Howling film, and Little Soldiers and his attempt to make Space Jam (guilty pleasure of mine) look bad has backfired on him big time. The spy theme parody wasn’t done properly and the story was a mess. I know Warner Bros. can do great films (and they still do) speaking as a fan of their work, but this has to be one of their weaker films in their library. Plus, Joe did Scooby and Shaggy dirty in this scene alone, angering the Scooby Doo fan in me. How ironic that Casey Kasem would retire years later in 2007, only for Matt to take his place years after this shitty scene ruined my memory and love from the Scooby Doo franchise.
Chicken Little (Disney, 2005)
Tumblr media
Seriously, what was Disney thinking when they were making this!?! I understand that this is their first animated film in entirely CGI, but man, it is like they’re walking into this with blindfolds on! The animation is passable, but the story was a jumbled up mess and felt like The Nut Job in tone with its mostly mean-spirited tone against the protagonist and most of the characters aren’t that great and memorable (except for Abby because I felt I was her in the dodgeball scene when remembering this again). My 12 year old self must be guilty now for giving into wanting to watch it. Luckily, there is a short they made back in the 1940′s, granted, this was like war propaganda for WWII, but it’s much better than this loose basket and much closer to the original fable they are based on. Go search for it on YouTube. Sorry, but this film isn’t my cup of tea.

GREETINGS! Before I decide to make a request. I would like to ask you a question.
Matthew Lillard is my all time favourite actor to exist (with Skeet Ulrich, cause both are hot and ages like fine wine)
And I was wondering. Do you know any more Matthew Lillard characters?
Like for example Cereal Killer from Hackers (HES SO FUCKING SILLY HOLY SHIT) and Nathan the Wolf from True lies (HOLY SHIT HES ADORABLE)
Since I see that there was nothing for them and I wanna give some ideas for these silly characters
However, if you don’t know them then that’s completely fine! Just let me know!
I’ll happily do a different request with other Matthew Lillard characters, since I do have ideas for them!
Have a great day! Keep being the king/Queen you are! ❤️
Hiii sweetheart!! 🤍✨
First of all, I completely agree with you and the fact that Matt and Skeet are VERY handsome men and DEFINITELY aged like fine wine 🫠
And yess, I do know almost every character Matthew played, the thing is I didn't watch all his movies, so it's complicated to analyze precisely some of his character's personality. But I can watch them if you request a specific character!
As for your question about not me writing for other characters, that's because 1. No one requested writing for some of his other characters, 2. I'm more attracted to some characters than others as you can tell haha, 3. Once again, I haven't watched all of his movies, so it can be complicated for me to write them right, yk?
That being said, it's completely fine to request any of Matthew's characters! With some specific and rare exceptions, I won't refuse your requests and I'll do my best to write them well so I can give you some quality content/writing!
Thank you for sending me this, it was a great question and I really liked interacting with you 🤍 Have a nice day honey, you're so sweet!! 🥺🤍✨

🔥 + scooby doo (like 3 or however many you can think of)
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
a well-known opinion of mine that still remains unpopular is that mystery incoperated is awful. there’s certainly elements of it that work-- it’s great visually, i love the idea of an overarching scooby doo storyline, and a lot of the new characters are fun (i’m particularly weak for mayor jones to no one’s surprise) --but it gets the gang’s characters wrong. the most egregious example is the fact that there is a scooby-velma-shaggy triangle of conflict.
i don’t like the depiction of shaggy as a coward. he’s more of a straight man than anything-- he speaks to a voice of reason that most of the gang ignores in favor of solving the mystery, but even with the ghost angle aside there’s no telling what any given criminal would do to the gang in pursuit of their goal. plus in older entries into the series shaggy is often chastising scooby for reacting appropriately to seeing something scary (under the assumption that he’s seen nothing) so he’s not... really a coward, he’s just perhaps overly-cautious.
the two theatrical live action movies are awful. the only good scooby doo parody/pastiche is the one from the venture bros. by extension, matt lillard is the worst shaggy, both in terms of voice and on-screen depiction, and i really wish they’d have someone else do the role. i don’t know if billy west would still want to, but scott innes, if you’re out there...

The 76ers are asking for the world for Ben Simmons
Tumblr media
Photo by Scott Cunningham/NBAE via Getty Images
Daryl Morey is asking for a king’s ransom for Ben Simmons. There’s a method to his madness.
The worst kept secret in the NBA is the Philadelphia 76ers’ desire to trade Ben Simmons. The All-Star forward has been involved in trade rumors since his underwhelming performance in the team’s second round defeat to the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
Simmons is the biggest name on trade market right now, but that doesn’t mean Philadelphia president of basketball operations Daryl Morey is just going to give him away. The opposite is true according to reports: teams that have engaged the Sixers on Simmons trades have reportedly found out that Morey is asking for an astronomical amount of assets in exchange for the 25-year-old.
The Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Toronto Raptors have each reportedly come to the 76ers with trade packages for Simmons. None of them were willing or able to meet Morey’s asking price. If Simmons does get traded this summer, it sure feels like it’s going to take a king’s ransom to get it done.
The 76ers wanted everything from the Warriors for Ben Simmons
The Warriors are seeking immediate help for another championship push next season. Golden State has Steph Curry coming off an MVP-caliber year, Draymond Green still producing at an All-Defense level, and Klay Thompson finally returning from injury after two years. Simmons would be a great fit next to that core.
When the Warriors called the 76ers about Simmons, Morey demanded James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins, the No. 7 and No. 14 picks in the 2021 draft, and two future first round picks, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The Warriors declined.
Wiseman was the No. 2 overall pick last year, but is coming off a disappointing rookie year. The talent in this year’s draft class falls off hard after the fourth pick. This is certainly a ton to give up for Simmons — one of the league’s best defenders who may be broken offensively — but it’s possible the Warriors will also regret not cashing in their chips for a young All-Star whose shortcomings would be masked by their system.
The 76ers asked for ‘every young player’ plus draft picks from the Cavaliers for Ben Simmons
The Cleveland Cavaliers enter the draft holding the No. 3 overall pick and likely rights to USC center Evan Mobley. The Cavs reportedly engaged the 76ers on a potential package for Simmons, and were told they would need to surrender every talented young player on the roster in addition to multiple future draft picks. From Zach Harper of The Athletic:
“League sources said brief conversations between Cleveland and Philadelphia were explored, but an asking price of every young player the Cavs value plus multiple first-round picks in the future wasn’t something they’d consider.”
Cleveland declined. The Cavs are positioned to have a compelling young roster next year led by Isaac Okoro, Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, and Mobley.
The Raptors were also rejected for their Ben Simmons trade package
Toronto reportedly made an offer for Simmons, but Morey turned them down. The package included Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and Toronto’s No. 4 overall pick. Matt Moore of The Action Network had the report:
“Multiple sources confirmed Sunday that the Toronto Raptors have emerged as a team with ‘significant’ interest in Simmons. One source close to talks said discussions have not been substantial as of yet. Multiple sources including those close to talks said a proposed framework including Raptors guards Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, and the fourth overall pick in Thursday’s draft for Simmons was rejected by Toronto.”
The 76ers likely want Bradley Beal or Damian Lillard for Ben Simmons
While it’s widely presumed the Sixers have to trade Simmons as soon as possible, that’s not necessarily the case. Philadelphia reportedly wants an All-Star level player in return for Simmons, and there are big ones on the cusp of hitting the trade market: Wizards star Bradley Beal and Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.
Beal can become a free agent in the summer of 2022. Would the Wizards really want to lose him for nothing? While a potential Beal trade has been framed on the guard’s desires to this point, Washington will also have to face the reality that it’s possible he leaves in free agency one year from now.
Lillard is under contract for four more seasons, but he has started to put pressure on the Blazers to win now. If Portland comes up short again this season, perhaps a deal centered around Simmons-for-Lillard could be a reality mid-season or after the upcoming year.
The 76ers have time on their side. Simmons is under contract for multiple years and remains one of the league’s top defenders. We can’t wait to see how this all plays out.
