So let’s just say that maybe one day both brat! Reader and bd/matt are hanging around mazzy and she talks about how she wants a sibling, how would that conversation go??-🍡

matt's eyes widen as he pauses mid hand movement, flicking up to meet yours. the two of you were taken by surprise at your daughter's comment, tension building the longer you just stared. "is that so?" matt finally spoke up, clearing his throat as he brought his attention back to mazzy.

she was quick to nod, not realizing the awkwardness of the situation. "yeah!" she answered, looking up from the doll in her lap to smile at her dad, "jamison said he can't be my brother because he already has a sister... he said you guys had to get me my own." there was a small pout apparent on her face, clearly hurt that the slightly older boy she'd befriended on the playground earlier that day rejected her as his new sister.

"really?" matt asked, eyes flicking up towards you again, "we uh... sorry honey, but we don't know where we could possibly get you a brother." he tried to let her down easy, playing oblivious as he gave her a playful shrug.

mazzy simply wasn't having it. she let out such a pained whine, huffing and puffing like she was ready to cry. "where'd you get me then?" she asked, thinking maybe he'd just forgotten where to get a kid from, "i want a brother, daddy!"

your brows raised as you looked down at matt, holding mazzy in his lap as you stood near the armrest of the couch. you sighed, seeing matt look up at you with a sneaky little grin for a quick moment. "daddy can't just get you one," you finally spoke up, trying to help matt out a bit.

"why?"

"it's uh..." you started, thinking up a quick excuse, "the baby store's only open for us at certain times," you answered, feeling a tad bit proud of yourself for coming up with that.

matt quickly nodded his head, giving mazzy a sweet smile. "yup," he added on, twirling a strand of her fine hair around his finger, "it's just not open for mommy and daddy right now, okay? we'll have to see if we can get one later."

What is The Leftovers about? I really like Christopher Eccelston and I need new shows to binge

Basic plot? Two percent of the world's population vanished into thin air at the exact same moment with no explanation and now the remaining 98 percent have to figure out a way to carry on living in a world where something like that can just happen and with no way of knowing if it will ever happen again.

And beyond that? It's about how different people find different ways to cope with existence, how love can exist while knowing that loss is lurking around the corner, how we tell stories to each other and to ourselves to get by and to understand.

It's a really fucking amazing show and it's only 28 episodes. You can binge it if you want to but it can get emotionally heavy, and I don't want you to cry yourself dry. Season one is bit a slow to get going but if you'll give it time to grow the story, you'll be amazed by season two and three.

Christopher Eccleston plays a supporting role, but one episode of every season makes his character, Matt Jamison, into a main character and those three episodes are generally rated very highly among the fans of the show. And Eccleston gives an amazing performance, of course.

Hope you'll give the series a chance because I absolutely love it.

heheehe i'm currently watching the leftovers and honestly the first two eps were kinda hard to watch: lots of information, you're dropped in the middle of the plot and have to go backwards in order to fill in the blanks and understand, lots of characters each with their own stories that are all, as you find out, intertwined, in short it's a beautiful, complicated spiderweb.

it took me until the third episode to really appreciate it, and not just because it's focused on christopher eccleston's character (matt jamison) and that i absolutely love this actor, but also because said character matt isn't as connected to the story as other characters are.

i mean, he is connected, through secrets and his sister and the fact that he's the town's priest so kind of a messenger when it comes to the main plot's elements. but the way that you follow him throughout episode three didn't make all that overwhelming.

for starters, it only focused on his character when the first two if i remember correctly are like i said a web, sometimes even a conglomeration of events and stories and characters. characters whom we don't know the names of yet btw. takes a while to understand that this one is the cop's son and this one the cop's daughter and that other one is the priest's sister etc...

then, even though matt's episode did raise some questions (like his relationship with the cop's dad, or elements of his backstory, or even "is matt a good guy?" cause it's really ambiguous), it also answered some other questions (elements from the first episodes for example).

finally, it's not as confusing as the first two eps because it's really fast-paced, a roller-coaster of emotions, and it crescendos until you reach the episode's climax and you don't know wtf to make of matt anymore.

like you can't really hate him cause you've been basically in his shoes for an entire episode and man was it hard af, but also he's a big hypocrite, but also you agree with what he does but then you don't cause he's an asshole but then you feel bad for him cause dude is so fucking tired and can't catch a break but at the same time god is he stupid???

wonderfully written character, played by an incredible actor. this right here is nuance, bitches. saw an article that said eccleston perfectly portrayed a character that sees the world in black and white but lives is shades of grey (aka his principles only apply to him when it's convenient) and that's exactly it.

best type of character you don't know whether to hug him or slap him. probably both.

also this one episode where kevin is insulting this dude on the phone then he hangs up and screams fuck and matt is standing right behind all awkward and he says "i say fuck too" with a proud little smile like

this is fkn glorious

and the other characters are very cool too: kevin, nora, aimee is hilarious, meg is strange and cute, the frost twins are adorable (omg they're the twins from teen wolf who could converge and form an enormous werewolf dude wtf hello), and wayne wtaf.

if you doctor who fans didn't remember: paterson joseph (wayne's actor) also played bitch ass rodrick in the finale 2 parters of series 1 and he was detestable. and as wayne i really don't know what to think of him except that paterson joseph is a really, really great actor. he's so scary and weird like AAAA

"Do people even still watch music videos?" Peter asked as he stared at his reflection, carefully applying eyeliner.

Thorne clucked his tongue, elbowing Peter, which nearly resulted in an eye poke with the little pencil. "Course they do! Sure, it ain't as often on TV, since all the music channels seem to be nothin' but reality shows now, but youtube's the place to post 'em anyway!"

"And why do I need to be in this?" Peter asked, putting the pencil down and grabbed for the hair spray to help give his hair a bit more lift. He could see the poor makeup artist in the reflection of the mirror, not sure of what to do.

Peter had dismissed her, telling her he could do his own stuff. He sighed and turned to face her, gesturing to Thorne. "Just doll up his face, fucker needs to hide the bags under his eyes anyway."

"Excuse you, did ya wake up on the bitchy side of the bed today?" Thorne huffed as he sat down in a chair and the makeup artist came over, getting her stuff ready for the diva.

"You know how I woke up, pissed and annoyed that I got asked at the literal last second to be in this stupid music video. Don't know why I need to be, I'm sure there are a lot of other gothic people you can pester."

"Yeah, but none of 'em can pull off those painted on leather trousers like you can, sweetheart."

Peter coughed hard when he sprayed the can again, startled by the boldness of his flirting, and right in front of people too! "For fuck's sake..." He coughed again, setting aside the can.

He knew he looked good in leather pants, but God damn, Thorne did not need to say it like that, especially when there were people around. They were barely open about the relationship as it was, didn't need the rumor mill goin' batshit over this. "I better get a hell of a paycheck for this." Peter snapped, walking over to where the wardrobe person was.

They were quick to hand the outfit bag with Peter's name on it to him, looking anywhere else but at him. He ignored the cackling from the idiot in the chair behind him and snatched the bag. "Gonna get dressed, hopefully you'll be mature when I get back!"

"No promises~!" Thorne called out in a sing-song way as Peter left the area.

Whatever was meant to happen in this video seemed to result in a lot of pauses because Thorne was getting too handsy with the actors in it.

Well, he was mainly handsy with one, and that was Peter. Far too often Peter had hands on his thighs, his mesh-shirt covered chest, and five times he had his ass grabbed. Hard. Granted, Peter would be all for this normally, but not on camera, not in front of so many other people, and not when he was basically sober.

"You're makin' what was supposed to be a few hours into a fuckin' full day thing, Jamison!" Peter snapped when the exhausted director called for a ten minute break.

"'s not my fault you're a tease in those pants." Thorne grinned. "They really give your ass some much love, practically a compliment."

"You're the idiot that had them picked out for me!"

"And I was right in my choice. I know what looks good on a guy." Thorne said with pride. Then he leaned in close, his eyes sharp and hungry. "And I know I'm gonna have so much fun takin' 'em off you when we're finally finished today."

Peter snorted. "Yeah, but only if we actually finish this stupid shoot, which you keep delayin'."

Thorne pulled back, shrugging, smiling. "I'll behave. For now."

Peter doubted that.
