liverpool 4-1 brentford analysis
i feel like i start every analysis with this but........our ability to carry on despite everything >>>
like in the past few days, trent, dom AND ali got injured and we had 2 INJURIES in the first half...AND WE WON 4-1
our injury list this szn has been insane. our ideal first choice XI probably hasn't played together in months.
AND WE'RE FIRST. truly incredible and all credit to the boys' mentality and klopp's ability to adjust (lfc medical team, i would like a word...)
kwev (again) stepped up and rose to the occasion
ibou let a few too many players sneak past the line in the first half.....but nothing came of it and the fact that that's my main criticism shows how consistently great he has been throughout the szn.
connor was so good and given what he's been through lately, it's great to see him play so well. ynwa <3
endo, macca and curtis all were good today and they looked good together, which is so crucial given domi's injury. domi and curtis seem to bring out the best in each other, but it's good that this trio is getting more comfortable (even if curtis is injured now)
darwin was so good and i'm gen so proud of his finish for the first goal.
also regarding that goal.....JOTA'S HEADER WAS UNREAL. exquisite, honestly, which is saying something given how much of a treat his goals are.
macca's control for his goal was steller and its great to see midfielders get in on goals
mo salah scoring on his return is just perfect. snow salah is here. it was all classic mo salah as well: running onto a ball, nearly putting a defender on his ass, and muscling his way through it all to neatly slot it away into the corner
big gakkers goal! great work from him to just put the game away and hopefully boost his confidence
great performance from luis in this match as well. an assist and i think he created the most chances? he complimented and enhanced mo, darwin, diogo and cody throughout the game.
also ibou singing w the fans was so cute
overall, very happy with the performance, especially given our injury crisis. BUT PLS NO MORE!!!
luton at home on wednesday, before we have our first shot at silverware!!! YNWA

How is Match and Performance Analysis Used in Football?
Match and performance analysis are integral parts of the modern game. To attain peak performance levels, the deployment of analysis must be precise and structured to guarantee its efficacy in influencing both the game and individual player performances.
What is Match Analysis and Performance Analysis?
Performance and Match Analysis are fundamental in the world of football, but what do these terms really mean, and what sets them apart?
Performance analysis identifies tactical trends to measure the performance of players. It assesses the decision-making of the players and analyses that information to recognise whether the team is executing the game plan. This analysis ultimately serves to improve and optimise performance. It's not limited to the field; it can also be used for player recruitment, among other applications.
Conversely, match analysis zeroes in on the assessment of quantitative data conveyed through performance metrics. These metrics serve as a tool for scrutinising behaviours and decision-making, unearthing insights that might not be readily discernible during a match. While its primary focus is on matches, it can be considered a type of performance analysis.
Examples of performance analysis include scrutinising key performance indicators of a player during training. This may involve using GPS data and heart rate monitors to assess and monitor the fitness levels of players rehabilitating from injuries. Meanwhile, match analysis has evolved in the modern game, introducing concepts like 'expected goals' to determine how many goal-scoring opportunities a team creates, even if they don't result in immediate goals.
Performance Analysis, as a specialist discipline, involves systematic observations to enhance performance and improve decision-making. This is primarily achieved through the provision of objective statistical data analysis and visual feedback through video analysis. The aim is to empower teams to make informed decisions and improve performance. You can explore further information on the Institute of Sport's website.
Similarities and Differences
So, what are the similarities and differences between Performance and Match Analysis?
Both Performance and Match Analysis aim to provide insights into player and team performance, but they differ in focus. Performance analysis is broader, encompassing various aspects of player and team performance, while match analysis narrows its focus to specific matches.
In summary, performance analysis is the umbrella term covering different forms of analysis in football and other sports. Key terms for Match Analysis and Performance Analysis include objective, recording, data, understanding behaviour, improving future outcomes, and modification of athlete behaviour. These terms help us navigate the complex world of football analysis.
Why Is Analysis Performed?
The fundamental question here is, why is analysis performed in football? Analysis, whether it's performance or match analysis, is essential to support the coaching process. Feedback and information processing are crucial aspects of coaching at all levels. However, human memory has limitations, and coaches can only recall a portion of match events accurately.
Academic research has shown that coaches may recall as little as 30% of match events accurately. This is where analysis steps in, providing coaches with a comprehensive and objective overview of the match. It also reduces the impact of time and memory limitations, ensuring that information is available when needed.
The Role of Objectivity
Objectivity is crucial in analysis. Objectivity through video and data ensures that the analysis is not influenced by personal biases or limitations. It helps coaches, scouts, and football professionals make informed decisions based on concrete data.
What Analysis Can Be Performed?
Finally, let's explore some examples of what analysis can be performed to aid coaches, players, recruitment departments, and more. From player performance metrics to tactical insights, analysis plays a pivotal role in improving football's understanding and performance.
Match and performance analysis are indispensable tools in the world of football. They provide a window into the intricate world of player and team performance, helping coaches and teams make more informed decisions and ultimately enhance their performance on the pitch.

Predicting Goals in the Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Ham United Match
As a professional sport prognosticator, making informed predictions involves analyzing various factors such as recent performances, historical data, injuries, and weather conditions. Here’s a detailed breakdown to help you make a well-informed decision on the number of goals expected in the upcoming match between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
Recent Performances and Historical Data
Tottenham Hotspur’s home games have averaged 3.24 goals per match, while West Ham United’s away games have averaged 3.72 goals per match. In their last five meetings, the average total goals per match is 2.8. These statistics suggest a tendency for both teams to be involved in high-scoring games.
Injury Impact
Tottenham will be without key attackers Heung-Min Son and Richarlison, which could reduce their goal-scoring potential. Additionally, Cristian Romero’s potential absence might weaken their defense. On the other hand, West Ham is missing Niclas Füllkrug and possibly Mohammed Kudus, affecting their attacking depth. Aaron Cresswell’s absence could expose their defense.
Weather and Pitch Conditions
The weather forecast for matchday predicts favorable conditions with a high of 17°C and a low of 12°C, and minimal chance of rain. This should result in a dry pitch, supporting a fast-paced game and fluid attacking play.
Final Prediction
Considering all these factors, it is reasonable to predict a total of 2 to 3 goals for this match. This range accounts for the potential impact of injuries on both teams’ attacking capabilities and aligns with the historical data from their recent encounters.
Conclusion
While the prediction of 2 to 3 goals is based on thorough analysis, it’s essential to remain flexible and consider a range of outcomes. Monitoring team news, understanding tactical nuances, and exploring various betting markets can help you make a more informed and strategic decision.

Real-Time Professional Match Video Analysis and the Role of Sports Analytics
In today's sports world, technology is a game-changer. Real-time video analysis, along with sports analytics, is a big part of this. It helps coaches, players, and analysts understand the game better as it happens, making quick decisions that can win matches.
Why Real-Time Analysis Matters
Before, coaches had to rely on what they saw during games. But now, they can dig into every detail as it happens. They can spot opponent patterns, see how players move, and plan tactics on the spot.
How Sports Analytics Helps
Sports analytics is like the brain behind real-time analysis. It collects, processes, and interprets huge amounts of data. Then, it gives teams predictions, performance stats, and advice. This helps teams know what to do to win.
Boosting Player Performance
Real-time analysis isn't just for coaches. It helps players too. They get instant feedback on their actions. This helps them adjust and improve quickly, whether it's fixing their position or taking advantage of an opponent's weakness.
Getting Ahead in the Game
In pro sports, every advantage counts. Real-time analysis lets teams see what's happening in the game right away. This helps them find weaknesses in opponents and take control of the match.
What's Next in Sports Analysis
As technology grows, so does the future of sports analysis. With things like artificial intelligence and virtual reality, we'll see even more innovation. This could mean better training and personalized advice for players.
Wrapping Up
Real-time video analysis and sports analytics Software are changing the game. They give coaches, players, and analysts the tools they need to understand and improve their performance. Looking ahead, technology will keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible in sports analysis.

“Please do not make me love you more, I do not think I could bear it”
I talk a lot about Anthony being smitten (because he absolutely very much is) but I don’t think I’ve mentioned enough about how much I love the pure adoration in Kate’s eyes every time she looks at Anthony. Her entire face lights up every single time she’s looking at him, with her eyes sparkling, and a smile wide enough to make your cheeks hurt just from looking at her
THAT IS A WOMAN UTTERLY IN LOVE, YOUR HONOUR
She really said, “There will not be a day where you do not vex me” when Anthony asked her to marry him, and it turns out all she’s truly vexed by is how much she loves him

I'm not sure if I believe the "Wakaba Isshiki did unethical experiments" theory in the fandom, but I do think this is the biggest proof of it in-game:
Because how the hell would she know that?
The first explanation is that she did experiments by sending people into palaces and then testing what happens to them if the palace collapses. Which is messed up for obvious reasons.
The second explanation is that she did NOT test it, meaning she was just making shit up. Which is funny but also would make her a terrible scientist. This explanation is less believable because everything else about her research is too accurate.
There's also a theory that Wakaba did unethical experiments on Akechi specifically. I'm not sure I believe that, since the evidence for it is pretty shallow (like the featherman game scientist experimenting on grey pigeon). But this scene is once again the biggest argument you could make for that theory. The researcher in the image above refers to palaces by their correct term 'palaces', which they say was based on Wakaba's research. But that's only something you would know with firsthand experience of the metaverse. And the only person they know who could access the metaverse was Akechi (that we know of, but i dont think Shido would rely only on Akechi if there were other options).
So yeah this scene is very sus. It's most likely the writers didn't think too deep about the implications. There's no way they wanted Futaba's mom to be sketchy, right? But even if it's not intentional, the scenes and their implications still exist. So in conclusion those theories make sense, I get it, and I don't blame anyone for headcanoning them and having fun. And tbh anyone involved with cognitive psience was portrayed as some degree of unethical (maruki for example), maybe this is just on-brand
#i really wish the game explained what the cognitive psience research thing was like more#like WHO are those people following joker at the end of the game. and WHO are those men escorting akechi in the end credits#shuake always matching because theyre both being stalked by men in suits for some unexplained reason#also about that featherman game#we all know grey pigeon is supposed to be akechi#but personally i dont think the scientist in that game is wakaba. thematically it feels more like shido#but regardless the game implies some stuff that akechi went through#either he was experimented on by cognitive pscientists (if you take the game literally)#or it's supposed to be a metaphor for the grooming shido did to him. endangering his life and controlling him with promises and praise#uggghggh thats so awful. someone pls just let the boy be happy#my post#persona 5#persona 5 royal#wakaba isshiki#futaba sakura#goro akechi#p5r wakaba#p5r futaba#p5r akechi#shido masayoshi#phantom thieves#p5r shido#p5r analysis#p5r meta#persona 5 meta#p5r#shuake#tagged shuake because i mentioned them in the tags even if the post itself isnt rlly about them

compiling my headcanons for what video games dungeon meshi characters would like, if they were gamers in modern day
some taken from this post and my reblog additions there. added more characters, with some suggestions by friends/mutuals (marked by *asterisk ).
this can also be a games recommendation list based on your fav/most relatable characters too, if you want
characters that are not are included are bc i dont have ideas for them. if i only list the genre name but not any specific titles, its bc im not familiar enough with the character/genre to pick a specific game.
this list is, of course, biased towards games im more familiar with. feel free to ask me to elaborate on my choices or make suggestions in the comments
Laios' party:
Laios: plays lots of Monster Hunter. loves Spore but he doesnt often play past the tribal stage. likes Pokemon but he's more focused on catching the pokemon than following the story. played WolfQuest and DragonFable back in the day. enjoyed the concept of Bugsnax but wasn't interested in dealing with the NPCs
Marcille: mainly Dwarf Fortress, RTS games, some colony sims. but also sometimes The Sims, and dollmaker dress-up games. i could see her also enjoying Rollercoaster Tycoon and making elaborately-themed parks. might also occasionally indulge in some visual novels if she's in the mood for narrative she has Stardew Valley so she can have something to play co-op with falin, but its not a game she plays a lot of otherwise. when playing with falin, marcille micromanages the farm to maximize productivity, and does the decorations
Chilchuck: puzzle games and hidden object/escape room games as a video game-equivalent to finding/dismantling traps and lockpicking. i think he'd also enjoy Bejeweled.
Senshi: mainly Wii games and Cooking Mama. occasionally plays Snake on his 15-year-old nokia phone. i dont think he would enjoy games like Overcooked or restaurant manager games, because he likes to take his time making food, not stressing about customer service
Falin: some *Legend of Zelda games – she likes the exploration aspect in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, maybe also some of the toon zelda games like Minish Cap or Wind Waker she also plays Pokemon (*Pokemon Go when she's traveling), and i think she would enjoy some indie games, like Penko Park or Chicory: A Colorful Tale. plays Stardew Valley co-op with marcille – falin mainly takes care of the animals, mining, and picking the crops. occasionally makes improvement suggestions that marcille didnt think of
Izutsumi: i could see her enjoying games with parkour mechanics, like *Assassin's Creed, or Mirror's Edge. or maybe something simple but requiring cat-like swipes, like Fruit Ninja. despite her impatience, i think she could also enjoy action games with interesting longer narratives, as evidenced by [this omake] (relevant portion pictured below), so maybe *Final Fantasy 7 – my friend who's familiar with the game said "she’d find Cloud and Vincent relatable"
[ID: a dungeon meshi omake, where laios' party watches a nightmare monster manifest marcille's dream. there are snippets of dramatic soap opera-like dialogue. the rest of the party are initially enthusiastic but get bored over time, meanwhile izutsumi remains enthralled]
Kabru's party
Kabru: definitely Crusader Kings. maybe also some rpgs with relationship/faction mechanics, such as *Fire Emblem (one of the older ones or FE:3H) or Fallout: New Vegas (hes maxing out the speech stat asap) i think he would also enjoy mystery games like Pentiment and Return of the Obra Dinn – he would love the process of getting familiar with the many characters and deducing "who did what" in both games.
Rin: she takes pride in being an indie gamer (translating her disdain for upper class magic academy mages -> disdain for AAA games). given her chain-lightning magic in canon, i think she'd enjoy games with AOE-type magic, so maybe games such as Vampire Survivors. my mutual also suggested she might enjoy indie mystery visual novels like *Paranormasight, and that her AAA guilty-pleasure would be *Final Fantasy 14 – that rin is "a hardcore ff14 raider. would join PUGs and shot-call every week. #holm and diya might also play ff14 casually with rin but holm would be fishing mainly"
Mickbell: mainly Bethesda games like Fallout and Skyrim– enjoys the bootstrapper power fantasy in them. the type to go out of his way to pick up all the loot he can, to later sell
Kuro: enjoys the same games as Mickbell, but for the open-world exploration and investigation factors
Toshiro and Tansu's party:
Namari: her interest in fighting and weapons could translate to brawler/fighting games and action games with a focus on weapon stats – so maybe *Street Fighter, *God of War, and/or *Dark Souls. might play *Monster Hunter with laios but for the weapons. i could also see her occasionally enjoying truck simulators
Toshiro (Shuro): has the perseverance for soulslikes and other high-difficulty action and/or metroidvania games, but would take his time overthinking item/weapon synergies sometimes. given [his fondness for bugs], i could also see him enjoying Hollow Knight
Tade: would enjoy the cute aesthetics and lighthearted gameplay of Animal Crossing and Katamari. would also like idol anime rhythm games
Kiki: i think she would enjoy horror games such as Resident Evil, but would play it while super chill. i dont have much reasoning for this aside from vibes
Canaries:
Mithrun: plays Doom. got into Hollow Knight but still hasn't finished it because he keeps getting lost. senshi introduces him to Cooking Mama later on, which he finds surprisingly therapeutic
Cithis: plays Hitman and enjoys staging elaborate accident kills. i think she'd also enjoy The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, with her background as a devious fortune-teller
Fleki: surreal indie games like Hylics. also plays Team Fortress 2, and is a scout main. occasionally joins lycion in Animal Jam
Lycion: active WolfQuest and Animal Jam player. occasionally joins fleki in tf2
Pattadol: plays Stardew Valley – shes comparatively a normie, but on the meticulous side. she would enjoy perfecting her in-game farm
Otta: plays Genshin Impact. the serious reasoning is because of her (earth) elemental magic and how genshin has an elemental magic system (from my understanding. ive never played it). the joke reasoning is how some genshin players play to collect "waifus", and how otta goes through a lot of women in her dating life
Other:
Leed: runs her own guild in World of Warcraft
Winged Lion: god-games like WorldBox or Simmiland. and Darkest Dungeon (this ones mostly a joke)
Thistle: plays the original Plants VS. Zombies. also plays Minecraft and is very serious about it, but hasn't updated his game in years (translating the fact hes a 1000-year-old kid frozen in time -> playing "slightly old" games popular in the early 2010s)
[ID: tweet reply by twitter user ranchuppi – "thistle calls it lord delgal's server but he is the only mod. whole royal family is locked in spectator mode. Hell. living hell on earth."]
#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#its not that spoilery but just in case anyone needs it#ive never owned any game consoles except a laptop so i watch a lot of lets plays/game showcases. and a fair amount of those are indie games#so this is probably a somewhat biased selection. i wanted to give several indie shout outs tho esp if they matched the character well#dungeon meshi spoilers#delicious in dungeon spoilers#mynn.txt#dm meta#yes this goes in my dunmeshi meta tag. this is character analysis to me

Every time someone in this godforsaken fandom says "I think we've talked about misogyny enough" I want to hit them with a hammer. No we haven't.
We haven't even talked about the deep "Ruikasa&Akitoya Vs. literally everyone else" imbalance enough but imagine all of the people that get pressured into writing specifically for male/male ships simply because otherwise they won't get any appreciation.
Yes it's a cowardly thing but when you see Ruikasa having over 4000 fics and Ichisaki having like 5 in total obviously you're going to be discouraged. Obviously you'll be biased into creating Ruikasa instead of other ships.
And as someone who depends on appreciation in particular to do any work at all obviously that's going to have a lasting consequence. Some people spend 4 hours crying in front of a screen just for 3 people to like their work and leave, it's understandable if they lose passion for creating at all, you guys killed them.
It's even in how we handle m/m ships. You go into a fic that's tagged Rui&Tsukasa(platonic), someone in the comments always goes "okay but when do they kiss". You go to an action-packed longfic, someone always ends up going "okay but when do they kiss".
Fuck you guys. Actually. This is a silly piano tiles game about Hatsune Miku, we should be one of the MOST CREATIVE fandoms in history and somehow people still get mad over two boys not kissing immediately after getting introduced. It's so fucking difficult being a content creator in this fandom because you always end up having to take the same route. They meet they tease they kiss. End of story. "Oh you're doing something "lame" instead? -1 kudo. Bring me my yaoi next🖕"
#mine ☜#project sekai#pjsk#pjsekai#prsk#to the people that made 90% of the content of a specific ship. you guys are doing god's work. thank you guys.#every time someone posts a mmj or a l/n fic without including other units an angel grows their wings back.#this is about me btw. this is me taking my fucking anger out because Ruikasa has made me have writers block 2 times now.#FOR MONTHS. “oh this is a cool idea it would showcase their dynamic well and be a good character analysis to match” “kiss scene whennn”#“*flips table and leaves*”#guys i wish i could be stronger but this is it for me. i am so fucking tired.#obviously Ruikasa is a good ship obviously you can like whatever you want you're free to write and read about boys kissing and being sweet#I won't stop you you can do what you want forever. but god fucking dammit.

I keep seeing people say that Kaveh and Alhaitham are incompatible and I'm just like... no u don't get it. They are so compatible that I'm convinced they're literally made for each other. They're both so incredibly stubborn but underneath all the bickering, they clearly have a ton of respect for each other and recognize each other's intelligence. It's because of both that mutual respect and their directly opposing worldviews and ideals that make them both pretty much the only people that are capable of influencing good and meaningful change in the other. Kaveh brings the empathy and artistry that Alhaitham needs while Alhaitham keeps Kaveh grounded. Alhaitham always seems so much more relaxed in every scene where he interacts with Kaveh. Alhaitham is pretty much the only person that Kaveh doesn't feel the need to go full people-pleaser with (excluding the occasional client that really manages to piss him off). They're actually perfect for each other.
#sorry for being unhinged about them but. theyre soulmates#nobody gets them like i get them /j#also this all isnt even considering the meta stuff that has me convinced that some hyv staff wanted them to be canon#the matching constellations... their complimentary kits... their color schemes being the inverse of each others...#also. their fighting styles being opposites. and also seemingly going against their ideals#like alhaitham being logical and collected but then his attack sequence is just completely unrestrained#and kaveh being the opposite. prioritizing emotions and stuff. but then his attacks being very calculated#maybe im actually insane but i think that shows the affect they have on each other#started the tags off apologizing for being unhinged and then immediately started being unhinged again. so. sorry again dksjfks#genshin#genshin impact#kaveh#alhaitham#kavetham#haikaveh#seri speaks#analysis

I made some funny comics a little while ago about the potential effects of Fukuzawa's ability on Chuuya's, and how it perhaps could make it revert to a pre-Arahabaki state.
I realized later that some of you lack the context for where that came from, and that I might be creating confusion, so this is a (hopefully) comprehensive walkthrough of things we learned in Storm Bringer that lead to this conclusion.
tldr; The lab created "Arahabaki" by manipulating an ability into a destructive force. That ability existed before the lab, and the nature of that ability is heavily implied to be the power to enhance other abilities through touch.
Explanation and sources below (so you can judge yourself) ⬇
- spoiler warning for Storm Bringer, hopefully written in a way that you'd understand even if you haven't read it yet -
In Storm Bringer, Chuuya meets the scientist that was responsible for Project Arahabaki, Professor N.
Project Arahabaki, N explains, was the Japanese government's secret project to create an ability singularity they could have control over and freely use as a weapon.
What are singularities? Singularities are what happens when abilities clash in specific ways and create a new, unforeseen reaction. The easiest way to create a singularity is to pit two contradictory abilities against each other to create a paradox; examples included the ability to always deceive and the ability to always perceive the truth, and to have two ability users who can see into the future (*coughs* Oda and Gide) try to one-up each other. The result is usually much more powerful than the original abilities on their own.
Some singularities are said to have been explained as god-like interventions, because of their often destructive nature. This is what inspired the name "Arahabaki", after the mythical being (here's a post of the subject and I'll it link at the end too) These events are described as very rare.
Like mentioned in that passage, there is another way to create a singularity: to have a single ability user use their ability in a way that contradicts itself. This is what the lab was trying to do.
For that explanation, Professor N gives an example. He first shows a video of a child, whose face is hidden from the camera, holding a coin (described as having a certain melancoly to it), with a moon and a fox engraved on it. The video is from one of the lab's tests. The child is made to recite some activation lines, which are directly taken from one of Nakahara Chuuya's poems, Upon the Tainted Sorrow (which does mentions a fox, as a fun fact).
The coin then starts glowing, the glow turns into a black mass, and from there the experimentation goes bad: the coin starts attracting things and absorbing them, the space gets distorted, the child's vitals flatline, panic spreads and someone calls for an emergency stop, we hear a scream. The video ends.
N explains that the child in the video had the ability to enhance the ability of others. That child then used that ability on themselves, effectively enhancing the enhancement which enhanced the enhancing, in an infinite loop. That loop created a lot of energy; the surplus of energy was so intense its mass deformed space (physics!) and it created a black hole.
Here's where it gets tricky: N claims that child died during that accident, that the child was absorbed by the black hole created by their ability. We never actually learn their identity.
But N is a lying liar who lies; he said about one and a half truths the entire book. The only reason he was telling them any of this was that he thought he'd get rid of all of them within the next few minutes. His objective was always to regain control over Chuuya, his pet project.
Plus, during the epilogue, we learn that Chuuya was assumed to have died during the war. That's what his parents think. That's what is officially recorded.
Furthermore.
Project Arahabaki was based off French research papers; someone else had done this kind of experimentation before, and their result was Verlaine.
-
Verlaine's gravity-manipulation is a singularity. Better yet: Verlaine also has a Corruption state, named Brutalization. Their abilities are the same, because the lab copied the techniques that were used to create Verlaine when they worked on Chuuya.
Here's a passage of Dazai nullifying Corruption, at the very end of SB:
"The self-contradicting skill, which was supporting the energy of a singularity". This passage confirms that the source of Chuuya's ability is, in fact, like the child's and Verlaine's, if any doubts remained. "[...] weakening the singularity's output. It wasn't long before it returned to its normal state, and the Gate closed." The Gate refers to releasing Arahabaki, it's basically a limiter, just like the passage above when talking about Brutalization. When Dazai nullifies Corruption, he gives that limiter the opportunity to come back and seal Chuuya's power away again, but does not stop the singularity, only allows it to go back to its stable state.
From all that, we can say that Chuuya's ability wasn't always gravity manipulation, but that it was another, unconfirmed ability that was exploited in such a way that it became a permanent, stable singularity that allowed him to have control over gravity.
-
Bullet point recap:
Chuuya's gravity manipulation comes from a singularity, like Verlaine, like that child;
You need a self-referencing/self-contradicting ability to create that singularity;
Such an event is rare;
There is a substantial amount of time spent describing a "random" child that was experimented on during the war;
That child created a black hole through their singularity;
That singularity was activated using a passage from Nakahara Chuuya's poems, while holding a coin that references it;
That child supposedly died;
Chuuya's parents think he died during the war;
N is a pathological liar with an agenda.
So no, there is no "confirmation" that Chuuya's ability was ability enhancement before the lab took him. But an author writes a story with an intent, so I am asking what Asagiri's intent was when writing all this, and if perhaps we weren't indirectly given the answer already.

What is Arahabaki (Fifteen and Storm Bringer lore, with too many citations)
My own perceived timeline of the true events behind Storm Bringer (was originally gonna be part of this part, also with too many citations)
#the dazai parallels are a nice little bonus because we KNOW chuuya as a character was designed to match dazai#he was most literally designed to go with him and contrast him#but that's meta analysis so i didn't include it in the actual post with the rest of the textual evidence#bsd#bungou stray dogs#bungo stray dogs#bsd analysis#bsd theory#bsd meta#bsd chuuya#bsd nakahara chuuya#bsd storm bringer#bsd stormbringer#stormbringer#storm bringer#i'll reblog this to my art blog tomorrow so the people most concerned have more of a chance of seeing it#apparently i talk sometimes

I really like this little thing right here, give me a second.
Remus clearly loves the nickname thomas gave him, especially since it was used to show similarity to roman.
Even better, it's an obvious reference to romans own nickname "princey". Thomas is confirming to remus that he and roman are still alike (even if only by a little) and will be treated similarly.
Remus is no idiot. He knows the nickname wasn't intended kindly towards him, but it's still a nickname like the others have, it almost makes him an official part of the group now.
When it's brought up again, he wants to include himself even more by giving roman a new nickname too. Now, just like "dukey", roman can be called "pissy" as a crude take on his own title in the same manner as remus. Roman clearly wasn't pleased by this, but I don't think it was intended on being mean by remus.
I think he just wanted to be his brothers other half again, he wanted to find another thing they can have in common.
