Marriage is a sacrament of God. 

Marriage is not just a beautiful union between two people; it is a sacred sacrament ordained by God Himself. 🌟 In many faiths and traditions, marriage is viewed as a holy covenant—a divine partnership that transcends the earthly bonds of love and companionship.

The Divine Design ✨💑

From the very beginning, God established marriage as a foundational part of life. In the Bible, we read that God created man and woman in His image and brought them together as one flesh (Genesis 2:24). This union is more than a social or legal contract—it’s a divine design. 💞

In this sacred bond, the love between a husband and wife mirrors the love of God for humanity. ❤️ Just as God’s love is unconditional, selfless, and eternal, so too is the love in a marriage meant to reflect these holy virtues. 🕊️

A Covenant, Not a Contract 🤝🙏

Marriage is often misunderstood as merely a contract between two individuals. But in reality, it’s a  *covenant*. 💍 Unlike a contract that can be broken when terms aren't met, a covenant is a sacred, unbreakable promise—binding not only the couple but also involving God as the central figure in their relationship.

A Reflection of God’s Love 💖🌟

One of the most beautiful aspects of marriage as a sacrament is that it reflects the love between Christ and the Church. In Ephesians 5:25, husbands are called to love their wives just as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her. 🕊️💒

This sacrificial love is at the heart of marriage. It’s about putting the other person first, being patient, forgiving, and always striving to grow together in God’s love.

Marriage isn’t always easy. There will be ups and downs, moments of joy and moments of struggle. But with God as the foundation, love becomes enduring and resilient. 💪💞

Marriage is between a man and a woman only.👩‍❤️‍👨

Marriage between a man and a woman was instituted by God with Adam and Eve. Genesis 2:24 states: “Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.”

In Matthew 19:4-5, Jesus reaffirms this: “He answered, ‘Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one’?”

Marriage as a Blessing 🌺🙏

Marriage, as a sacrament of God, is a profound and beautiful blessing. 💫 It is a sacred path that two people walk together, hand in hand, with God leading the way. In response to a tradition/myth in some household in the Philippines wherein an infant is not allowed to be brought to church unbaptized. Hopefully, other parents who may have the same concerns maybe enlightened by this article.
