Marriage is a sacrament of God. 

Marriage is not just a beautiful union between two people; it is a sacred sacrament ordained by God Himself. 🌟 In many faiths and traditions, marriage is viewed as a holy covenant—a divine partnership that transcends the earthly bonds of love and companionship.

The Divine Design ✨💑

From the very beginning, God established marriage as a foundational part of life. In the Bible, we read that God created man and woman in His image and brought them together as one flesh (Genesis 2:24). This union is more than a social or legal contract—it’s a divine design. 💞

In this sacred bond, the love between a husband and wife mirrors the love of God for humanity. ❤️ Just as God’s love is unconditional, selfless, and eternal, so too is the love in a marriage meant to reflect these holy virtues. 🕊️

A Covenant, Not a Contract 🤝🙏

Marriage is often misunderstood as merely a contract between two individuals. But in reality, it’s a  *covenant*. 💍 Unlike a contract that can be broken when terms aren't met, a covenant is a sacred, unbreakable promise—binding not only the couple but also involving God as the central figure in their relationship.

This is why marriage is a sacrament: a visible sign of God’s grace. 🌿 It’s a spiritual commitment that goes beyond physical attraction or emotional connection. It is a journey of faith, trust, and love that two people undertake together, with God as their guide. 🛤️🙏

The Role of Faith in Marriage ✝️💒

Faith plays a crucial role in sustaining a marriage. When life’s challenges come—whether it’s financial troubles, health issues, or differences in personality—faith acts as an anchor. 🛳️ With God at the centre, couples can weather any storm, knowing that their bond is blessed by a higher power. 

In the sacrament of marriage, prayer becomes a powerful tool. Couples who pray together invite God’s grace into their lives, allowing Him to shape and mold their relationship according to His will. 🙏✨

A Reflection of God’s Love 💖🌟

One of the most beautiful aspects of marriage as a sacrament is that it reflects the love between Christ and the Church. In Ephesians 5:25, husbands are called to love their wives just as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her. 🕊️💒

This sacrificial love is at the heart of marriage. It’s about putting the other person first, being patient, forgiving, and always striving to grow together in God’s love.

Marriage isn’t always easy. There will be ups and downs, moments of joy and moments of struggle. But with God as the foundation, love becomes enduring and resilient. 💪💞

Marriage is between a man and a woman only.👩‍❤️‍👨

Marriage between a man and a woman was instituted by God with Adam and Eve. Genesis 2:24 states: “Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.”

In Matthew 19:4-5, Jesus reaffirms this: “He answered, ‘Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one’?”

Marriage as a Blessing 🌺🙏

Marriage, as a sacrament of God, is a profound and beautiful blessing. 💫 It is a sacred path that two people walk together, hand in hand, with God leading the way. November diawali dengan usaha yang lebih dari bulan sebelumnya. Sedari awal sudah banyak yang terjadi, cukup menyita waktu dan pikiran. Sesuai prediksi, akhir tahun 2020 tidak dapat dilalui semudah bulan sebelumnya. 

Banyak hal terjadi.

Satu yang menjadi perhatianku selama bulan November ini, ikatan yang tak terlihat namun semakin erat entah karena apa. Kesedihan, kecemasan, kebingungan yang ia rasakan juga aku rasakan. Ingin tahu lebih jauh apa yang ia rasakan tetapi bukan sekedar ‘ingin tahu’ lebih dari itu, ada rasa ingin memberikan ketenangan saat ia kebingungan. Ingin sekedar menjadi tempat cerita ketika ia merasa sedih dan kalut-tidak begitu besar peranku tapi kuharap ia tenang dan sedikit bisa bernafas-. Jarang bertemu tapi ingin selalu merasa dekat dan selalu memastikan bahwa mereka baik-baik saja. 

Sesungguhnya Engkau mengetahui hati kami. Kami telah berkumpul karena cinta-Mu. Dan berjumpa dalam ketaatan pada-Mu. Dan bersatu dalam dakwah-Mu. Dan berpadu dalam membela syariat-Mu. Maka ya Allah, kuatkanlah ikatannya. Dan kekalkanlah cintanya. 

Mungkin karena doa itu yang selalu kami dengungkan diakhir pertemuan 3 tahun belakangan. Indah. Maknanya begitu dalam. 

Bahkan November ini sempat merasa konyol ketika suatu malam pernah menangisi yang harusnya tak perlu untuk ditangisi. Alasannya mungkin aneh bagi banyak orang, tangisan itu pecah ketika kecewa dengan perilaku seseorang. Kecewa kenapa hal itu bisa terjadi pada orang yang tak diduga, kecewa karena merasa gagal menjadi seorang teman, dan kecewa karena menangisi perbuatan dari orang tersebut. Merasa gagal dan bukan menjadi teman yang baik, itulah alasan menangis. 

Memasuki bulan November pertengahan kukira ikatan yang tadinya baik ternyata tak seperti kelihatannya. Semua punya cara untuk mengikat lebih erat :) mengikat bukan untuk mengekang tetapi untuk berpadu menjadi kuat. 

Adapula dibagian jauh yang tak bisa digapai sedang berusaha menenangkan hati. Jarak yang jauh kuharap bukan menjadi penghalang ikatan hati, kita peduli tolong jangan menutup diri. 

Hikmah menuju akhir November yang dapat kuambil adalah ikatan yang ada diantara satu dengan yang lain semakin kuat bukan karena intensitas bertemunya tapi doa dan rasa sayang karena Allah yang menjadikannya semakin erat. Sedikit aneh jika kita memiliki empati yang begitu besar bahkan ada rasa ingin menjadi supporting system padahal belum kenal sama sekali. Tapi ini terjadi. Karena merasa bersaudara dan sepenanggungan. 

Lebih dari sekedar sahabat, makna ukhuwah lebih daripada itu.

Self-love and Faith Always Come Together

Everyone acknowledges the thought of self-love. However, the definition of self-love comes in a variety that its original meaning eventually pales into insignificance. Self-love means to look after oneself. Others’ definition of it has become rather an excuse for indulging in hedonistic pleasure. In so doing, they spoil themselves by satisfying their earthly desires. They feed the hunger within them only to discover it’s a hunger they can never fill. There is evil in this world that tricks us into believing that self-love is an indulgence to earthly and sinful desires. It creates confusion to bait faithful people away from the path that God has set for us. As a result, the definition of self-love then becomes an attachment to the vanities of the earth. To care for oneself requires faith in God. We have to trust His words and prevent ourselves from growing obsessed with all things vain. His plans and ways for us are far greater than any man could ever desire. The amount of material things we possess in this world is by no means a way of measuring how much self-love we have. A heart who surrenders fully to God will never waver in abandoning the earthly things he possesses. His love for himself paired with his faith allows him to clearly see the infinite vastness of God’s love. No earthly desires could ever measure up to it. Loving ourselves means believing and trusting in God with all our heart. His ways encourage us to live a healthy life — mentally, physically, and spiritually. Faith is the foundation of self-love. In order for our love for oneself not to be deceived by evil, we need to fortify our faith. How do we do it? By putting faith into action, we recognize the deceitful intentions of evil.
