Mario & Luigi Event Horizon
I was bored and thought of a scenario: "what if Mario, Luigi, and Dimentio had to team up to stop a greater threat?" So I hyperfixated a little on that idea, and created Mario & Luigi Event Horizon.
A story about the sun, moon, and all of the stars of the night sky vanishing one day, threatening to plunge all worlds into eternal darkness and cold. Mario and Luigi begrudgingly allow Dimentio to join them on the adventure, as he seems to have some information about the one responsible for the eternal night, and how to stop them.
But I'll go into more detail another time, anyway, I hope you all like this drawing! It's actually my first time drawing the bros.

Toad Brigade Concepts:
To start, all six of them worked as part of Princess Peach’s staff, at least until the events of the two Galaxy games. What they did afterwards? Entirely up to them.
Each one has their own starship, but when they work together, they tend to travel in just one or two starships. They weren’t friends before that incident, but afterwards? They grew tight.
Onto some specifics! (I’m not including images, y’all know what they look like):
Red:
Legal name: Captain Carmine Toad
Game appearances: Playable in Treasure Tracker. Appears in Galaxy 1/2, 3DW, Odyssey, and Wonder (NOTE: I can’t verify that I didn’t miss any)
Day job: Former soldier in Peach’s royal guard. Specifically, he’s this guy from the Galaxy intro (chosen because this guy tried to stand between Peach and Bowser, but the second things got hairy, he immediately ran around in a panic):
Did they keep it: Nooooooope! Decided to become a full time adventurer the second the opportunity came.
Role: Self appointed leader, who learned to be a true one through trial, error, and struggle. (There was almost a mutiny, once)
Personality: Confident, kind of arrogant. Never minces words.
Blue:
Legal name: Buckenberry
Game appearances: Playable in NSMBWii, Treasure Tracker, and Wonder. Appears in Galaxy 1/2 and Odyssey
Day job: Royal archivist
Did they keep it: Yes
Role: The brainiac. Also the strategist—can glance at any given situation and sun up the major players, their weaknesses, and how to maneuver. They’d fall apart without him
Personality: Quiet—until you get to know him. Also has no filter. Eager for adventure to expand his horizons.
Yellow:
Legal name: Ala-Gold
Game appearances: Playable in NSMBWii, Treasure Tracker, and Wonder. Appears in Galaxy 1/2 and 3DW
Day job: Courier
Did they keep it: YES.
Role: The heart of the team. The only one who can cook. The de-facto pilot—because if anyone’s gonna get them to places alive, it’s him.
Personality: ANXIOUS MESS. Incredibly skittish. Head always going to the worse case scenario. NEVER wanted to go on adventure. He’s basically just here to keep everyone else alive.
Green:
Legal name: Clemson
Game appearances: Playable in Treasure Tracker. Appears in Galaxy 1/2 and 3DW
Day job: Groundskeeper (he likes heavy lifting)
Did they keep it: No. prefers to travel the universe as the captain’s muscle.
Role: “A brave brigade toad”—that’s this guy. He’ll take the jobs no one else wants. (It’s how he ended up as the Banktoad in Galaxy 2)
Personality: Strong and quiet type. Really big heart, though. Easily known as the most reliable of them all.
Pink (purple? Idk he looked pink to me before I looked at the wiki):
Legal name: Maitake
Game appearances: Galaxy 1/2
Day job: Mailroom attendant
Did they keep it: No. Decided he was better serving the universe as an adventurer. Peach didn’t disagree.
Role: Keeps everyone communicating, scouts out where they’re needed. Works the most closely with Toadette
Personality: Sweet and caring. Can read people like an open book. Notably, he’s also the only one who can keep AG calm.
Toadette:
Legal name: …Toadette.
Game appearances: She’s kind of hard to miss, isn’t she?
Day job: Lady in waiting to Princess Peach herself, and also head mistress of the castle. Basically keeps the whole thing running.
Did they keep it: Yes, with an expanded role—she now also coordinates movements of the royal spies along with those of Mario, Luigi, and the Toad Brigade. Toadsworth helps her
Role: Forgive my MCU references, but she’s the guy in the chair. She’s what Peggy Carter was to the Howling Commandos. She’s the only one who can stand up to them and tell them what to do. She’s everyone’s little sister, and they’d all die to defend her.
Personality: Bold, brash, down to thrash. If she can get away from her royal duties to go with them, she will.

Thief’s Apprentice is basically Mario is Missing, except the streets are teeming with Medieval zombie cyborgs instead of barren and lifeless real world cities, you and your brothers are also Medieval zombie cyborgs, you steal precious artefacts instead of returning them, and the atmosphere is crass and deranged instead of bland edutainment.
I feel like Mario is Missing makes some very good game design decisions, but it all gets buried under even worse decisions. My goal is to salvage what few good things they did.
Mario is Missing is infamous for being gruelling and confusing despite being an hour long, but I think it’s because they have too successfully conveyed a sense of scale with very little. This is only a problem and agonising to play because there is next to nothing to do in the identical streets.
At crossroads, Luigi has the option to go down another street, whereupon he zooms into the foreground or the horizon until he reduces into 10 pixels. This never fails to delight me.
With the freedom to travel unrestricted over the entire giant map, one could argue that Mario is Missing is the first open world game. Using just a 2D overworld map and some unconnected streets, Mario is Missing achieves the illusion of massive creepily-empty boring as hell cities.
In effort to make Thief’s Apprentice as shitty and evil as possible so it can actually exist in a reasonable timeframe and workload while still having a recognisable identity, I will take inspiration from one of the most iconically shittiest games.
I can make a handful of detailed and interesting streets and connect them with cutscenes of the bros disappearing into the distance, then cutscenes or maybe extremely simple playable sections of them walking down generic alleys, then reappearing in another place.
Here’s the most important change: NPCs can leave their street and go to other places just like you. This should stop limited locations from feeling too samey, since the same NPC may behave differently in different locations, special conversations or interactions happen when combinations of NPCs are in the same location, and crowd behaviors and demographics change depending on game events.
Aside from that, there’s nothing redeemable from Mario is Missing and I have extracted all valuable game design insight from it.

I think most Wario fans would agree that the Wii U era was a dark age for Wario.
Game & Wario didn’t do well, no new Land or Ware game on the horizon, Smash screwed him over more than ever, Wario regularly got left out of stuff and it sucked.
That said, 2017 really marked a turn for the better for Wario and honestly, it’s remarkable how much him and his supporting cast have gotten since:
Wario:
- Wario has gotten to be a costume in both Jump Rope Challenge and even Animal Crossing New Horizons as part of the Super Mario anniversary event, despite barely being a factor in the Super Mario series.
- While Smash is still in need of overhauls for him, we got a better Wario then ever with a return of the Shoulder Charge, a proper Ground Pound animation for his down throw and the hillarious slap.
- The Wario series itself is finally back.
- Baby Wario has returned and got quite a bit of material to promote his inclusion in Dr. Mario World.
Wario & Waluigi:
- Nintendo has become noticably fond of flaunting these two on social media.
- The two got Rabbid counterparts and figure cameos in Mario + Rabbids.
- Wario has two alts in Mario Kart Tour already and Waluigi has one.
- The two are in Clubhouse Games and have their outfits in Odyssey.
- Camelot still adores them and gives them loads of special attention in marketing and in-game, for Tennis Aces and Super Rush.
Waluigi:
- He’s getting his own Pro Controller.
- Nintendo just casually threw around a new Waluigi render on Youtube for the fun of it.
- His outfit was made the basis for a Luigi’s Mansion 3 multiplayer color scheme.
Ware’s Cast:
- WarioWare has returned and we can even play as them in Get It Together.
- Mona, alongside Wario, was in a My Nintendo discount ad.
- They are, as always, represented in Smash.
- The whole cast got character trailers after Gold came out.
- Wario, Ashley, Mona, 9-Volt. 5-Volt, Penny and Young Cricket were part of the official Nintendo Dream sticker set, giving WarioWare among the more extensive amounts of characters in there.
- The same magazine had in-character interviews with the cast, written by WarioWare staff.
- Mona and Ashley got special christmas art on Gold’s website.
Land’s Cast:
- We finally got Land characters represented in Smash via Spirits and Shokora even got highlighted on Ultimate’s website.
- Captain Syrup may or may not be that one caller in that one phone souvenir in WarioWare Gold.
- Captain Syrup was mentioned by name in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
M&W/Woods’ cast:
- Wanda got to be a spirit in Ultimate.
- Wanda got even more official acknowledgement via being part of the Nintendo Dream sticker set.
Everyone:
- Wario’s cast shows up very frequently on Spirit Board Event pics. Land, Ware, Wanda and Waluigi.
It’s still by no means perfect. Land is still MIA, we still have no Wario characters in Mario games and no Wario & Waluigi in Super Nintendo World or DLC for them in Mario + Rabbids.
On the whole though? We haven’t been this well off in a long, loooooong time.

Nausea/Upset Stomach + "I Need You To Pull Over!"
< Prev | Next >
[AO3] | @sicktember
Before the kart even finished rolling to a stop, Luigi wrenched the door open, stumbling out and curling up in the grass. “Why did I let you drive,” he moaned, clutching his stomach.
Mario also got out of the kart, biting his lip. Peach’s event had gone off without a hitch, and Luigi in a dress and wig and a facemask was able to give the planned speech in Peach’s place. He had then swapped places again with Peach, who had felt well enough to attend the reception afterward. By contrast, Luigi’s health had progressively gotten worse as the afternoon turned to evening, so Mario had begged off early to take him home. And since Luigi wasn't feeling well, Mario had elected to drive. Although, he could have afforded to drive less...erratically than he usually did.
Luigi groaned.
Sitting down next to Luigi, Mario felt bad about contributing to his brother’s nausea. He waved the water bottle he’d found in the trunk in front of Luigi’s face. Luigi sat up to take it, but he didn't drink from it, choosing to put his head on his knees and take deep breaths instead.
Mario sat Luigi upright, so he wasn't hunched over and was instead leaning slightly against him. He picked up Luigi’s arm and pressed his fingers gently on the inside of his wrist. They sat and watched the sun set below the horizon while Luigi’s stomach settled.
...He'd try to drive slower on the way home.
“Thank you.”

What You Don’t Know || Plotted w/ ghostbustingreen
@ghostbustingreen
Everything he knew, everything he loved; it was all falling apart before his very eyes.
Bright lights and space debris flew him by as everything spiraled downwards into the void. He had lost his grip on the princess’s hand, and she was torn from him with such violence, left to circle the brink of the supermassive black hole’s gaping maw before eventually being swallowed whole by the darkness. Mario screams for her, cries out her name, but his voice is killed by the deafening roars of the hole.
He couldn’t do anything, not now. Years of fighting, to live, to survive, to save, all culminating in the death of all creation by his own hand. His iron grasp on his fate would, unbeknownst to him, end in his complete and total loss of control, merely being thrown and tossed about in a swirling vortex in the midst of swallowing the universe.
His head pounds, his lungs burn from the screaming, eyes searing from the brightness of the event horizon. He desperately searches among the flying debris for any sign of life, any familiar face that had not yet succumbed to oblivion, and as he’s once more swept by, he crosses the crumbling Comet Observatory. Domes ripped from their platforms, entire chunks of dirt and stone separated, and yet he could just barely spy the remains of of the Garage - where he recalled Luigi to frequent often.
He was going to die, and he knew it, but hoping to reunite with his brother and hold onto him for dear life as the both of them are pulled to their eventual deaths offered a twisted sense of comfort. Despite losing his voice, he cries out the best he can,
“Luigi---!!! Luigiiiii--!!!!”
A hand reaches, as though it would bring him ever so closer, but just as he finds the wreckage of the Observatory floating closer, suddenly -- it’s all taken away. Before he can even register it, the shattered remains of Peach’s Castle, an unfortunate bystander in the destruction, collides with the Comet Observatory, completely smashing the Garage to pieces and throwing it into the heart of the black hole to be swallowed whole.
“No... no, no-- Luigi! LUIGIIIIIIIII---!!!”
He’s helpless as he’s pulled into the darkness--
--and he awakens.
Mario jolts awake to the sound of his heart pounding heavily in his ears. His face is drenched in a cold sweat and tears he didn’t realize he was shedding. He trembles and huffs ragged breaths as he glances around the room every which way to gain some grasp of his surroundings, and it’s when his eyes meet another’s that he stills, his own reddened face painted in terror.
It was Luigi.
Luigi was awake.
Luigi was never awake at this time of night.

"We'll figure this out" for luigi/Daisy
Angst/fluff Prompt List
Okay so some brief Italian lessons before we begin:
Castello di Flora = translates to “Flora’s Castle” (lit. “Castle of Flora”)Un colpo di fulmine = colloquialism for “love at first sight” (lit. “a lightning bolt”)
Luigi and Daisy, “We’ll Figure This Out”
***
Between fleeing the country in the aftermath of Tatanga’s invasion and staying in the Mushroom Kingdom during her citizens’ recovery efforts, Princess Daisy was initially very homesick. She missed the scorching western desert heat of Birabuto, the peaceful southern beaches of Muda, the rolling hills and rocky cliffs of Easton, and the blistering northern mountain winds of Chai. She missed her parents, and she missed their home, which ended up being destroyed during the attacks.
Now, after a fair amount of time, she had been arranged to meet them at their new residence, the historic Castello di Flora. As its name implied, the castle was once the residence of Daisy’s distant ancestor from several centuries ago, a queen named Flora who reigned over a newly unified Easton.
For Daisy, returning to Sarasaland should have been exciting. Now, there was a new issue: she hadn’t counted on how much it would hurt leaving the Mushroom Kingdom.
She hadn’t been back in years, and wanted to explore every inch of how much Toad Town and its surrounding neighborhoods had changed since her last visit. It had been Peach’s idea first, and Mario was more than happy to bring her there, the latter of whom she ended up striking a very good friendship with. Peach, in the meantime, was ecstatic to host her sister-in-arms again, and Daisy was just as thrilled to stay with her during that time.
Then, of course, there was Luigi, a completely unexpected surprise. She hadn’t arrived to the Mushroom Kingdom looking for love, but a chance encounter with the young plumber outside of Peach’s castle was all it took. That encounter early in the afternoon turned into an unofficial first date, followed up by an official second the day after. Following that came a bouquet of flowers at her doorstep and a dance in the rain that subsequently lead to their first kiss. They were exclusive ever since.
It was now the evening before Daisy was scheduled to leave. The two of them were sitting at the top of a hill providing a beautiful view of the Mushroom City skyline, a callback to the end of their aforementioned first date. That evening, they stayed out to watch the sun set and for the first of the stars to appear before returning home. Sitting next to him, hand in hand, gave her plenty of time for reflection as the hours ticked away.
Truth be told, the princess was not one to dwell on the notion of love at first sight, she hadn’t expected that sort of thing to happen to her. In fact, she was almost repulsed by the idea, given her history with Tatanga and several other self-centered sons of prominent government officials vying for her affections in the past. Now that she had experienced it for herself, however, the thought nearly frightened her.
Suddenly she understood why love at first sight was so rare to come by: whenever it happened, everything surrounding love was far more intense than normal. Sparks didn’t fly, but fireworks did. First dates, which were usually planned at least a day in advance, were now completely rushed and on-the-fly, often operating on a wing and a prayer. And forget about pre-kiss tension; it didn’t exist in the event of, as Luigi described it in his native Italian, a lightning bolt.
Un colpo di fulmine, it was called. At least that saying was a little bit more reassuring. It meant that love could be found from looking at somebody either one time or one thousand times. Conversely, “love at first sight” was just that: the first sight, and there was so much pressure for everything else after that to be just as perfect.
But that was the problem. Nothing was ever truly perfect.
She sighed sadly, earning the attention of the green-clad young man next to her. “Is something wrong?”
How could she answer with so much running through her mind all at once? The princess instead looked out into the horizon. “...There’s just so much to unpack,” she said, hesitantly.
A corner of his mouth ticked upward in a faint smile. “Unpack? I thought that was for AFTER you get home, not before.”
The princess couldn’t help but giggle. Leave it to Luigi to make her laugh, no matter how corny the joke. Still, it wasn’t enough to diffuse her sour mood, and the plumber was quick to catch on. “I’m serious. What is it?”
Again, she let out a melancholy sigh, unable to ignore the elephant in the room any longer. “It’s the fact that I’m literally leaving tomorrow morning,” she answered. “I never had any real friends in Sarasaland. Coming here and being with Peach and everybody else made me the happiest I’ve been in a long time.”
She leaned her head against his shoulder. “Now that I’m going back home, it’s gonna feel like everything I’ve ever built up in the Mushroom Kingdom will disappear in the blink of an eye.”
He tilted his head in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t want to forget this.” She gestured outward with her free hand. “The memories, the friendships...everything. I guess I’m just afraid everybody else will, eventually.”
It really hurt Luigi to see the princess like this. Still, seeing this normally cheerful and optimistic lady in such a somber mood brought to mind similar fears of his own, fears of being left alone or forgotten, left in the dust.
Thankfully, Mario always gave him some good advice to curb these doubts. “You’ve known Peach for...how long?”
“Since before I could even remember. The both of us were probably still teething when we first met.”
“Well, she wouldn’t forget you, would she? Not after the two of you have been such good friends your whole lives.”
“I know Peach would remember. But what about Mario?”
“He’ll remember Sarasaland for days to come,” the plumber replied. “I hear him say every day that he wants to go back again...when there’s been enough recovery, obviously.”
“Well...” she began, “it would definitely explain all the questions he had about the provinces. And their history. And their cultures. And their people. And their creatures...”
“The list goes on. There’s no way he’ll forget. Not for a long time.”
“Yeah.”
Her eyebrows suddenly furrowed in thought. “And then, of course...there’s one more person.”
“Oh?”
“Someone special...” Daisy mused. “He’s really quiet before you get to know him. And shy. PAINFULLY shy. But underneath it all is a guy who’s as kind, honest, and sweet as anyone could ever be.”
She laced his fingers through his. “He’s not afraid to be sensitive or emotional. And in my opinion, that’s the bravest thing any guy can do.”
The princess saw Luigi nervously scratching the back of his head, knowing full well he was catching on to what she was saying. “He’s also extremely handsome, especially in green.”
And there it was, a twinge of red in his cheeks. “Stop that,” he laughed, trying not to stutter over his words. “I’ve heard enough.”
“But YOU won’t forget, will you?”
He sat there for a moment, looking at her, eventually letting his hand brush away a stubborn strand of hair threatening to obscure his view of her bright green eyes. “Why would I ever want to?”
He let his fingers lightly trace over the outline of her face before letting his hand rest over her cheek. “You’re my lightning bolt.”
Her own hand reached up and held on to his. In moments like these, rather than say anything back, she let the words linger, so she could take in their meaning. In the time she had known Luigi, she knew he was not much of a talker, but when he was, he never minced his words. Everything he said carried depth, and lots of it. This was no exception.
She closed the gap between them and kissed him. It was nothing like their first kiss on that rainy evening; there was no desperation, no awkwardness, no bottled-up feelings to resolve. It was simply a small show of affection she knew he’d appreciate.
The way he slowly found the courage to kiss her back let her know she was right.
After letting it linger for a few seconds, they pulled back, his hand still cupping her face gently. “Will you write, at least?”
“I don’t know how often...”
She wrapped an arm around him and drew him in for a hug, her head now resting snugly against his chest. “We’ll figure this out. Together.”

Nintendo E3 2019 Thoughts Part 1The Direct
ce Okay so with yesterday behind us I felt I might as well offer my own opinions on the main event of the day the Nintendo Direct.
To start off I like how rapid fire a lot of Nintendo’s Directs have become. While it’s not as flashy as a full blown conference it pretty much cuts out most of the padding and helps make things arguably more focused. I wasn’t expecting them to cram so much in within 40 minutes and I admit I thought at times they would do a Smash Ultimate and spend a bunch of time on one title which of course never happened now then onto the games themselves
Dragon Quest Hero or should I say Dragon Quest Gang for Smash. Pretty much something most of us expected. Personally I have nothing against Erdrick and Pals and it was inevtiable really that we got Dragon Quest representation in Smash considering how in Japan DQ is pretty much on the same level as Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Minecraft here in the States. As easy as it is to complain about more anime sword boys when you look at it DQ was pretty much one of our only options for an additional SE rep considering how stingy SE is with Final Fantasy as well as the fact that Sora is pretty much a massive legal minefield for obvious reasons. I kinda find it clever really that rather than just represent 1 game they instead use the Hero as a means to represent the entire Dragon Quest series as whole.
Following that up fittingly is another trailer for Dragon Quest 11
Doug Bowser makes his E3/Direct debut and already the memes are out in full force
H̶o̶t̶e̶l̶ ̶M̶a̶r̶i̶o̶ ̶2̶/Luigis Mansion 3 is looking great. Seriously I just love how clean everything looks. It’s almost like the Luigis Mansion Dark Moon Artwork come to life/ Too bad we didn’t an actual release date but really for a game like this I would be surprised if they don’t go for an October release.
A Dark Crystal Game That was unexpected
Link’s Awakening now with Dungeon Maker. Seriously I can’t help but keep imagining a Zelda spinoff that’s basically a Zelda themed Dungeon Keeper
Trials of Mana and Collection of Mana Not exactly my cup of tea but it’s cool seeing The Mana Collection available on Switch right away
Witcher III for Switch. Another rumor that turned out true. Bring on all the oerformance jokes and PC master race trolls. Panic Button doesn’t appear to be handling this one but I can’t help but wonder what sorcery they used to get this game running on Switch
Fire Emblem Three Houses Not really big on FE myself. I get why some people are complaining they basically spoiled the big twist but I figure that Nintendo may have did it on purpose to show fans that it’s not just Harry Potter with a Fire Emblem Skin
More Resident Evil love for Switch which is nice although I can’t help but wonder why they chose a port of RE6 over the remake of RE2
No More Heroes III another bit of a surprise. I admit for a second I thought I was looking at some new Power Rangers mech game. Great to see after Travis Strikes Again
That new Contra game looks eggghhhh but its cool we are getting the Contra collection too
Daemon x Machina. I actually did get some enjoyment out of the demo and what I saw with the mech customization looks interesting but I seriously hope they fixed the framerate in the final release.
Panzer Dragoon Another one that came out of nowhere. Switch has been seeing quite the amount of Sega love. Now if only we could get a Sega Ages port of Daytona USA
Pokemon Sword and Shield get a brief shoutout. Figured they wouldn’t spend too much time on it considering how it just got a direct last week. And like that the R34 crowd has already abandoned Sonia for Nessa go figure.
Astral Chain got a new trailer. Pretty interesting game and no doubt it will probably have an insanely over the top final boss as with fine Platinum tradition
Empire of Sin pretty interesting management/strategy game looks like it might be worth a shot when it comes out.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Not a big Marvel person but personally I think its a bit funny really that UA3 has better models than the SE Avengers game.
Cadence of Hyrule Finally have a release date and its right at the end of E3 which is cool
Mario and Sonic at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Figured they would give a shoutout to this game. Eggman looks surprisingly hot in shorts. Why is nobody talking about the majesty of Barefoot Wario?
Animal Crossing New Horizons Finally the game pretty much everybody was waiting for. So it would appear Animal Crossing has now transformed into Minecraft. Jokes aside I can’t help but love the idea that you are pretty much now building the town yourself and populating the island from scratch. Okay actual path creation tools and the ability to place furniture outside this is too much. It’s kind of a bummer the game won’t be out till next March but its understandable really considering how packed Switches release schedule looks for the rest of 2019. Also Tom Nook being a greedy little shit as usual and where is Isabelle please don’t tell me Nintendo you forgot our precious doggo girl.
The obligatory switch game/port sizzle reel. Nice recap of things to come. Another MS game confirmed with Super Lucky’s Tale. Also the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has finally been confirmed for Switch and PC which is great. Alien Isolation? didn’t expect to see that game get ported. Still no release date for A Hat in Time Switch though
Now for what is arguably the two biggest bombshells to come out of this presentation
First off, Banjo Kazooie in Smash. I cannot freaking believe it a character where the Grinch Leak actually ended up turning out to be right!!! I admit even I had my doubts that we would actually see this come to fruition since I never thought MS would be that chill about letting Banjo show up in a game hosted by one of their own competitors. Of course competitor may not be the right word here considering how surprisingly chummy MS and Nintendo have gotten with each other as of late. I can’t help but find a sense of inner happiness and satisfaction when my own theories and hunches end up being proven correct. I just knew there had to be a reason why Blast Corps and Jet Force Gemini spirits were found in the game files for Smash Ultimate never mind the fact that MS in their E3 schedule clearly suggested we should watch Nintendo’s own E3 presentation. I admit when I first saw that Jiggy bounce by I kinda started to lose my collective shit. The whole reveal was just so brilliant from the way they basically parodied their own trailer to how happy the DK crew was to see Banjo again. Its almost like Sakurai and Nintendo were reading everyone’s mind. I am really liking Banjo’s Smash design and how they basically went for more updated version of his classic look rather than just settle for the Nuts and Bolts design. A perfect way really to drive home the point that Banjo has pretty much come home. And I cannot believe it they actually got Grant Kirkhope himself on board to compose new music for Smash. I admit I am loving that Spiral Mountain remix and you can even make out bits and pieces from other Banjo levels too. I can’t wait to hear what else there is with Banjo. While I am mainly a Nintendo person I would just like to give thanks to Phil Spencer for helping make so many Nintendo and Smash fans wildest dreams finally come true. Now perhaps see if you get the original Banjo games as well as maybe a Nintendofied version of Rare Replay perhaps on Switch
And finally capping off the direct was the reveal that an actual follow up to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is now in development. When we will see this title in full I am not sure but the brief teaser looks like they are hinting that Ganondorf himself could be back from the grave. Now I am hearing how the devs say they were inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2 does that mean more detailed horse mechanics?
All in all I would rate Nintendo’s E3 Direct an 8/out of 10. A few points were docked from the Animal Crossing delay but there was still a lot of games that I am interested in due out in the near future as well as some wonderful surprises to boot. I would personally say Nintendo was probably the best part of E3 this year and they made me a very happy gamer

Meimiday 2019 Wall of Awesome
GET HYPE!
January 28th is my birthday, dubbed Meimiday several years ago by my friends (I think it was hojo who started it). For those years, I would spend all day watching streams from said friends playing games for my birthday entertainment. Seven years ago, however, when asked what I’d like to see I kinda just went “Why don’t you just beat some games?” and so the festivities truly began. Most of us frequent the Backloggery, so it’s kinda easy to see why it has snowballed~

Hello neighbor ps4
He does this, however, while Nicky watches. The Neighbor locks his son, Aaron, into his basement. In the end credits of Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek, we see The Neighbor digging a grave for Mya. A while later, Aaron gets upset to the point where he accidentally pushes Mya to her death.
Eventually one day, however, Diane dies in a car accident, which The Neighbor then takes her to the hospital where she dies. Aaron and Nicky become best friends and start hanging out frequently. A few years later, Nicky Roth and his family move into the neighborhood. The town of Raven Brooks was devastated and burnt down the theme park. Eventually, Theodore also built a theme park around this time in 1992 called the " The Golden Apple Amusement Park". You play against an advanced AI that learns from your every move.īefore the events of the game, the Neighbor, Theodore "Masters" Peterson, Diane Peterson, Mya Peterson and Aaron Peterson lived together. Extreme racing games can also generate endorphins as you narrowly escape a catastrophic crash, or if you take on a super long challenge like Le Mans 24 Hours.Hello Neighbor is a stealth horror game about sneaking into your neighbor's house to figure out what horrible secrets he's hiding in his basement. Horror games can do this for some, offering the stress of fear and jump-scares before the euphoria of escape and mastery of both the situation and our fears. Also, games that let us feel the exhilaration of creating something beautiful or being part of that creative process help generate endorphins. Video games that make us laugh or cry do this. Games that help create endorphins are those that let us experience excess emotions. They are also needed to help with sleep, particularly when there is anxiety or worries on our minds.Īlong with getting outside for exercise, eating well and nurturing conversations, video games can also help. We also need endorphins when we want to push ourselves beyond our discomfort in chosen activities. Without endorphins we can struggle to cope with pain and stress. Serotonin for significance and importance. Oxytocin for trust and building relationships. You can aid the happiness of your brain by taking on activities that generate key experiences and chemicals:ĭopamine for motivation, learning and pleasure. You can hide in Minecraft (having turned nameplates off), sneak around on public transport in or simply count to 10 while visitors hide in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Open World Hiding: You can use pretty much any open-world game to make your own hiding fun. A twist on this is Here Kitty where one person hides a phone that then makes cat noises until the seeker has found it. There's a hidden object mode in Super Mario Odyssey where you hunt online player's hidden balloons. Hidden Objects: Or there are hidden object games where the computer hides things that you have to find, like Hidden Folks and Hidden Through Time. Screencheat is a twist on this, where you share the same screen and try to shoot each other, but your characters are invisible. Or games you play online where everyone has their own screen and try to hide from a particular character like in Secret Neighbor. Separate Screens: There games like Mario Chase and Luigi's Ghosthouse in Nintendoland, or Pac-Man Vs where one person has their own screen while the others team up to hunt for them use the main TV screen. Then there are games like Witch It designed around this idea of transforming into normal items and hiding in a game world. Fortnite has a great Prop Hunt mode, as does Minecraft. Prop Hunt: There are games with "Prop Hunt" modes where you can change into the items in the world to hide. At the end, you see a map of where the players had run. One player stands in a crowd of identical people and uses the Wii U gamepad to look around and describe their location to other players, who use the TV to explore and find them. Another great example is Wii U Party, Lost and Found Square mode. Wii Party offers hiding in its Spot the Sneak mode where one player has a secret advantage in the mini-games that the other players have to spot. The Fruit game in Game & Wario on Wii U has the same mechanics, with one person trying to steal fruit without the other players working out who they are. Hide In A Crowd: There are games like Spy Party, Thief Town, Hidden in Plain Sight and Buissons, that let you play as a range of characters and then challenge another player to find you amongst a computer-controlled crowd, from what way you move and interact. The games in this list offer digital ways to play hide and seek with a variety of different twists. Running around with a stick pretending to be in the army.

"my dear Dimentio, why do you stand against me?"
--
Okay NOW we talk about the villain of Event Horizon: King Cosmos.
Cosmos is the embodiment of well, the Cosmos. Even though his status is no joke, he seems to have become forgotten, only remembered by one person: Dimentio. The two have a very complicated history.
He's tall, imposing, and all knowing. His will stretches all across worlds. And because of this throughout the story, the trio can't help but never completely feel safe. He may not necessarily always be watching, but the fact he could be is what scares them.
During their first confrontation with Cosmos, Dimentio had gotten the stories main maguffin: The Calamity Stone. The Calamity Stone holding the power to reverse the damage caused to the many worlds encased in darkness. Cosmos was after the stone as well. In a last ditch effort to keep the stone away from Cosmos, Dimentio broke it into 3 pieces and used his magic to scatter the pieces far away.
After the fight, the trio race against time to find the pieces before Cosmos can.
Okay maybe next post I'll actually tell the story in order lmao, anyway I hope you enjoyed this!

As one of the best-selling consoles of all time, the Nintendo DS had a wide variety of games in its library. With the new features the DS brought to video games including the touch screen, the built-in mic, and the local Wi-Fi connection, DS games were able to try new things other games were still unable to do.
RELATED: 10 Ways To Get Started On Your Island In Animal Crossing New Horizons
Because of these innovations, many DS games like The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass still holds up to this day. Since these games were ahead of their time, players have a plethora of challenging and fun games to play that rival anything produced for the current generation of consoles.
10 Animal Crossing: Wild World
Animal Crossing: Wild World is part of the social simulation game series Animal Crossing that has the player control a customizable human who has just moved into a new village populated by anthropomorphic animals. Since the games are open-ended, players can choose how they spend their time, which includes collecting items and talking to the other villagers.
This game is significant because it introduced many gameplay features that would become mainstays of the series. For example, instead of the top-down perspective of the first game, this game has the sideways view that later games would continue to use. Also, the game introduced online play, which has remained a big part of the series.
9 Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
Taking place seven years after the third main Ace Attorney game, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is a visual novel adventure game where the player as a lawyer must solve mysteries to prove their client’s innocence. Apollo Justice is a rookie defense attorney who ends up working with the memorable main character of the previous Ace Attorney trilogy, Phoenix Wright, and his daughter, Trucy, to solve the old murder case that led to Phoenix’s disbarment.
Along with the regular cross-examining in the courtroom and the investigation sequences outside of it, this game also introduces some new ideas to the series. Since Apollo does not have Phoenix’s magatama, he instead has a bracelet that allows him to see small movements people make that give away their lies. With the wide cast of intriguing characters and a darker storyline, this fourth Ace Attorney game is absolutely worth a playthrough.
8 New Super Mario Bros.
A discussion about the best DS games is not complete without the number one best-selling DS game:Â New Super Mario Bros. In this 2.5D platformer, the player controls either the titular character Mario or his brother Luigi as they navigate through various worlds to save Princess Peach from Bowser and Bowser Jr.
As one of the best-selling video games of all time, it is no surprise that this game is hard to put down. The combination of simple gameplay with the variety of worlds to explore makes the game enjoyable and addicting. New power-ups such as Blue Koopa Shell added a new element to the gameplay. Also, movements from 3D Mario games, like the wall jump, were also added to enrich the experience.
7 Dragon Quest IX
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies is an RPG released in 2009 that follows an entirely customizable main character who is part of an angelic race that lives in the sky called “Celestrians.” A catastrophic event occurs that sends the Celestrians plummeting to the mortal world, and the main character must find a way back to their former state while gathering lost fruits from the world tree.
RELATED: 10 Best Classic JRPGs Available On Switch
Along with the higher difficulty, this Dragon Quest game introduces many new gameplay features that make it worth playing. While keeping the traditional role-playing mechanics and interesting storytelling of previous entries, Dragon Quest IX introduces multiplayer functionality, plenty of customization options, and spawning enemies.
6 Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Created by Shu Takumi, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a 2010 adventure puzzle game that follows an amnesiac ghost named Sissel who has recently died. While traveling with a female detective named Lynne, Sissel uses his new spectral powers to perform “ghost tricks” in order to save lives and try to recover his memories before dawn arrives
Over the course of the game, the player will possess corpses in order to travel back in time to four minutes before the person’s death. During this period, the player can manipulate objects in order to affect what is happening and change the future. This creates an intriguing gameplay loop that will keep the player hooked from beginning to end.
5 Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor is a tactical RPG where a 17-year-old male protagonist and his friends witness an outbreak of demons in modern-day Tokyo. During seven days, the protagonist, who gains the ability to see how long a person has left to live, must try to save as many people as possible.
Similar to other SMT games, the player can recruit demons as allies to fight other demons. In addition, gamers can see the enemies and must move the teams of characters strategically across the map to fight enemies in single turns, which is similar to games like Fire Emblem. With all the possible unique endings, the player will want to replay the game several times to fully enjoy what the game has to offer.
4 The World Ends With You
Produced by Tetsuya Nomura who also developed the Kingdom Hearts series, The World Ends With You is an action RPG that takes place in modern-day Shibuya and follows an amnesiac teenager named Neku Sakuraba who has recently died. With the help of several different companions, Neku must complete the week-long Reapers’ Game in order to have a second chance at life and not be erased.
RELATED: Kingdom Hearts 3 – 10 Secrets & Easter Eggs You Totally Missed
With a gameplay style specific to the DS, this game is a must-play for the console. Using both the touch screen and buttons, the player can simultaneously control the characters in both the top and bottom screens. In addition, the soundtrack and various outfits are all sourced from Shibuya’s popular culture at the time, creating a unique time and cultural capsule players will enjoy.
3 The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is an award-winning action-adventure game and a direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker on the GameCube. The game follows Link as he travels between various islands using the ship S.S. Linebeck in order to save his friend Tetra from a life-eating monster named Bellum.
While the game contains the dungeon exploration and item hunting of previous Zelda games, this game is unique because it also has a large central dungeon, The Temple of the Ocean King, that the player must return to throughout the story. With the help of the Phantom Hourglass and other items, the player must use stealth to avoid the Phantoms in the temple. The game’s innovative gameplay and engaging storyline make it the best Legend of Zelda title to get a remaster for the Switch.
2 Sonic Rush
Before his departure from Sega, the father of Sonic, Yuji Naka, produced one more mainline Sonic game that many fans consider to be one of the best. Sonic Rush is a 2.5D platformer where the player can control either Sonic or a new character Blaze the Cat. These two characters work together to stop Dr. Eggman and his counterpart, Dr. Eggman Nega, from Blaze’s alternate universe.
Both characters show their own side of the story, have their own specific order of levels, and have their own special abilities. The game’s smooth gameplay, beautiful level designs, and introduction of Blaze make Sonic Rush one of the best Sonic the Hedgehog video games.
1 Pokémon: Black & White
As the second generation of Pokémon on the DS, Pokémon: Black & White consists of two RPG games where the player controls a teenager who travels across the Unova region in order to catch Pokémon, battle against other trainers, and defeat Team Plasma. The game focuses on the balance between humans and Pokémon.
Created shortly after Pokémon: Diamond & Pearl, this game has updated graphics and animations compared to its predecessors. With the game’s large amount of new characters and the darker storyline compared to other Pokémon games, it is no surprise that Pokémon: Black & White has remained a favorite that fans of the franchise continually revisit.

Nintendo Holiday Gift Guide: Best Consoles and Games to Buy
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article is presented by Nintendo.
Got a video game fan in your life and want to treat them to something special? Luckily, with the holidays just around the corner and the 35th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros. is currently in full swing, there are plenty of Nintendo-themed gifts to choose from. But if you need some guidance on the latest and greatest from the House of Mario, we’ve created a helpful guide for you!
The following is a curated list of products we think would be ideal for both dedicated Nintendo players and those ready to have their first Nintendo experience. From exciting first-party exclusives and the best games for the Nintendo Switch to mixed reality playsets ready to take over your home, here is Den of Geek’s ultimate Nintendo holiday buyer’s guide:
Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.
Nintendo is celebrating the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. in various ways throughout 2020, and the biggest anniversary release is definitely the return of the classic Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. handheld. This special golden handheld boasts a sleek and clean look that also stays true to the portable device’s iconic design, especially the legendary Widescreen Game & Watch line.
Not only does this new version of the handheld have a full-color LED screen but it comes pre-loaded with the full version of Super Mario Bros. as well as Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and a new Mario-themed take on the first Game & Watch title, Ball. Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. releases on Nov. 13.
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch is a system that represents all the Japanese company’s best ideas rolled into one, seamlessly combining the joys of both handheld and home console gaming to deliver the ultimate experience. Because of the Switch’s home/handheld console design, players can easily take their games on the go or sit down in their living room and plug into their big-screen TVs. This is a feature unique to the standard Nintendo Switch, which is jam-packed full of exclusive games that can’t be played anywhere else – and now boasting improved battery life. It’s the ultimate gift for Nintendo players!
Need some Switch game recommendations? We’d suggest starting with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a few other games we’ll recommend below.
Nintendo Switch Lite
Nintendo Switch Lite is a slimmer, lighter, and more budget-friendly version of the standard hybrid system. While you can’t plug the Switch Lite into your TV, players can still enjoy one of the most robust and diverse video game libraries on a beautiful LCD screen while on the go.
The Lite is currently available in four distinct colours — Coral, Turquoise, Yellow, and Grey — allowing players to customize their Switch Lite experience to fit them. Despite not being dockable, the Lite is the Switch of choice for players wanting an easy and affordable entry point into the wonderful world of Nintendo.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars
After years of wondering when fans would be able to play Mario’s greatest classic adventures on Switch, Nintendo finally announced Super Mario 3D All-Stars. This collection brings together Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy in one neat package, ideal for players who may have missed these 3D platformers the first time around as well as those keen to play them again! All three games benefit from improved resolutions and modern controls, ensuring that Super Mario 3D All-Stars is now the best way to play these gems.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit
Just when you thought you’d seen it all from Nintendo’s trademark racing series, the aptly named Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit brings the colorful karting action directly to your home, thanks to augmented reality. This game’s design is incredible: you set up gates and arrow markers on your floor, which can then be tracked by the physical Mario or Luigi toy cart that comes equipped with a camera.
After setting up your own personalized home circuit, you can race through your home through the Switch screen, dodging, drifting, and boosting your way to victory. With Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, the racing possibilities are endless.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is widely considered to be one of the best Nintendo games ever released, transporting players to the most fully realized version of the Hyrule Kingdom yet. While not a mainline entry, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a standalone prequel spin-off that will let players live and fight through the events that led to Breath of the Wild.
Hyrule Warriors plays differently to other Zelda releases in that it emphasizes hack and slash combat over exploration and puzzle-solving, but anyone craving more reasons to return to this universe will find it in Age of Calamity. The game is out on Nov. 20.
Ring Fit Adventure
External forces have made it incredibly difficult to stay fit and healthy during most of 2020, leading the exercise-driven Ring Fit Adventure for Nintendo Switch to surge in popularity. This Wii Fit successor gets you up on your feet and working out by gaming the system, challenging you to battle an evil dragon by way of squats, jogging, and crunches. In fact, Ring Fit Adventure is more than just an exercise game and has quite a few things in common with a traditional RPG. You’ll battle your way through obstacles and enemies using the unique Ring-Con controller, staying fit and healthy at the same time.
Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics
One of the year’s most surprising Nintendo Switch hits is Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, a charming compilation of familiar board games, card games, and sports games that everyone can play together. It’s by far the most convenient way to play timeless games like Chess, Four-In-a-Row, and Texas Hold’em, all of which boast various difficulty levels and modes to always keep things interesting. 51 Worldwide Classics is an ideal gift for solo players and families alike, and a good example of how video games can bring people of all ages together.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the game that saved many gamers from the woes of lockdown in 2020, giving everyone their own personal private island getaway to tweak, improve, and customise. It’s a cutesy life simulation game suitable for players of all ages, granting you the tools to create a character and then live out a full virtual life. Become friends with neighbors, spend the nights catching bugs, and spend time with your real world friends on your island or theirs! After all that, you can return to your island in real-time during seasonal events, which ensure there’s always something new to see and do!

Well then, we should move this on to Mr.L. Because that’s a whole nother ball game there. Emo Luigi is it? He’s such a supple ball of sadness. I can see so much self loathing in him. Like him trying to insult Luigi only to insult himself and mention he isn’t excluded from what he said. I don’t know what pushed Luigi to such a length but it was something that left him all alone. Regular Luigi always has Mario there. Even if he’s off on an adventure he can watch from afar. Come with him and be an awesome team. But this Luigi, he didn’t have that at some point. Some point very crucial. So much about his body language is trying to distance himself from people, even if only a few more inches. He doesn’t trust anymore. Even in his low points, when he’s by himself I don’t think he could admit that he misses his brother. He’s in isolation as well as denial. Which wouldn’t make any kind of reconciliation seem conceivable. Mr.L wants to be left alone. But he hates being alone. You can tell from his look when the regular brothers are hugging. That longing. It’s this vicious cycle that he’s trapped himself in and he can’t get out. It’s the one thing I think that the two of them could agree on, him and Doctor Mario. That they’ve hit that event horizon. It makes me want for the regular bros to smack some sense in them. They both are so stubborn and so locked in their roles that they even though they want to, they can’t do anything to fix their bond. I mean, it’s a beautiful tragedy there. I won’t lie, it’s delicious. Shakespearian even.
It’s just some AU where Dr Mario and Mr L are from a parallel universe and have to go on some adventures with the bros.
