I realize you may not want to reveal your hand yet, which is completely understandable, but as one of her few fans, I must ask: will Lila be redeemed in your angelic layer au? (Or will she show up at all?) (No shade/anger if she's not redeemed, I just don't want to get my hopes up for one way or the other)

Congrats, you found the unredeemed character! Lila will be a very important story character and will be her canonic nasty self, and in a story about a game, cheaters never prosper!

I'll also clarify that yes I'm "redeeming" Gabriel, but I'm also not making him go as far as canon. He let's Adrien go to school and have friends because I'm killing Emilie years before the story proper starts, his *main* boundary is that he doesn't want Adrien playing Angelic Layer so he doesn't have much "redemption" to go through. Kinda like SL Lila!

Screw it, I'm gonna ask the question:

When has Marinette really struggling to make friends ever been a thing in the show? People are now using Marinette's anxiety as an excuse for why she struggled with behaving in any way normally around Sublime, as well as using it as "duh" explanation for why Adrien is in the "right" for saying that it is a normal thing for Marinette to not know how to befriend people.

But WHEN did she ever act like this while trying to make new friends or form a connection when it wasn't actually explicitly about Adrien?

Cause that's the thing: Adrien is incorrectly projecting the way Marinette treats him onto her treatment of Sublime, saying that this is normal for Marinette.

But its not.

This whole "you only have one chance to make a good impression to become someone's friend" has never been something Marinette's character thought or acted like. She has countless of friends, even more connections everywhere, she's the widely beloved hero of the city, and a team that trusts her and follows her every word.

Her anxiety can get a BIT in the way here and there in how she treats her regular friends (so excluding Chat Noir), but she never did THIS before to make a friend.

Her anxiety can have her badly judge people who she then treats worse, but once she gets over herself she barely has a problem to try and reconnect with them and be their friend

She ONLY treated Adrien like this, hence why he incorrectly projected onto Sublime. What are you all TALKING about that thats the REAL reason for her behaviour?

Shouldn't yall Marinette stans KNOW your fav well enough to know she never did THIS before?

"the reason adrien is just instantly good at everything he tries is because he is programmed to be that way as a senti" aside from the fact that i don't think that's how it works (and also while he was decent at everything he tried with marinette he wasn't instantly good at all of them, and what marinette actually said to him was that he could improve in anything with practice but it was a great first attempt) did we all collectively forget about how adrien actually canonically isn't the best singer?

I just got reminded about a situation that happen in my high school health class this is kinda how it went.

*we got given a worksheet and I was filling it out no problem until I got to the question "describe what it's like to have a crush?" So I raise my hand for help

Me: uh what do I put if I've never had a crush before?

Teacher: well you've surely had a crush before

Me (aroace): no, what should I put?

Teacher: have you never gotten butterflies around someone? Wanted to go out with them? Or been overly flustered?

Me (confused): no, never, what should I put?

Teacher: uh... Describe what having a crush is like

Me: I would but idk what that is like

*the teacher then sits next to me for a couple more minutes before leaving

*me now stuck on a question scraping the barrel for any memory of film or tv show I had ever seen with romance in it. Only for my mind to conjure up Lumity edits and marinettes stalker behavior towards Adrien.

I proceeded to leave the class confused while being even more secure in my sexuality than ever

BTW it has been a very hot minute since I checked out miraculous ladybug, but how they very explicitly portrayed queerness and the struggles of expressing it both in life and in art, what with Nathaniel's attempts to have his parents accept the very queer comics he made with his boyfriend Marc, coupled with the attempts of his parents to steer his comics story and him straight, with the villain being literally called "The Ruler"? like, holy shit, this season has got my respect.

Can we all just take a moment to think of what it must of meant to alternate universe Marinette to read her diary and her life, except it’s different.

Her life, except she has friends she spends time with and has fun with. Her life, except she has parents who love her and support her. Her life, except she has a partner who is always there for her. Her life, except she has a support system, she has people, she has love and strength from others to support her.

Her life, except it’s not.

And no amount of wishing, or magic, or power with make it hers.

I think G!Chloé is too chill to worry about dates quite so much. She has a ready made excuse though.

If she ever forgets something or is late she just shrugs and says 'I'm running on turtle time. It's a little slower.'

And yes canonically Chloe forgets important dates like birthdays even when they are from people she genuinely appreciates and loves! (Bustier & Adrien)
