I realize you may not want to reveal your hand yet, which is completely understandable, but as one of her few fans, I must ask: will Lila be redeemed in your angelic layer au? (Or will she show up at all?) (No shade/anger if she's not redeemed, I just don't want to get my hopes up for one way or the other)

Congrats, you found the unredeemed character! Lila will be a very important story character and will be her canonic nasty self, and in a story about a game, cheaters never prosper!

I'll also clarify that yes I'm "redeeming" Gabriel, but I'm also not making him go as far as canon. He let's Adrien go to school and have friends because I'm killing Emilie years before the story proper starts, his *main* boundary is that he doesn't want Adrien playing Angelic Layer so he doesn't have much "redemption" to go through. Kinda like SL Lila!

Can we all just take a moment to think of what it must of meant to alternate universe Marinette to read her diary and her life, except it’s different.

Her life, except she has friends she spends time with and has fun with. Her life, except she has parents who love her and support her. Her life, except she has a partner who is always there for her. Her life, except she has a support system, she has people, she has love and strength from others to support her.

Her life, except it’s not.

And no amount of wishing, or magic, or power with make it hers.

Lady Noire stared down at her claws, her shiny green claws glistened in the sunlight as the wind drifted through her black braided locks, the feeling felt so free. Because that’s what it was, freedom. Being the black cat was freedom, the feeling of destruction and no worries gone as she could leap over buildings, nap in the sunlight, and fear no responsibility. That’s why whenever her and Chat switched Miraculouses Marinette was always hesitant, because she hated the taste of freedom, it was something she couldn’t have.

The battle was over and Mister Bug was finishing up, tossing his lucky charm in the air. She couldn’t help but clench her fist trapping the black cat ring on her hand, she didn’t want to switch back so soon, she wanted to stay as the black cat for just a few more minutes before she had to go back to living her life in fear and misery. But as she opened her mouth to request a few minutes more she snapped it close as she saw Mister Bug’s annoyed face. He was done being Ladybug for the day, he wanted his freedom back. So she agrees, their relationship already broken enough and she didn’t want another fight breaking out between them.

She stares back down at the ring, the feeling of freedom so tempting to take it and run, but she doesn’t she hides behind the wall just as Mister Bug does and pulls the ring off. The feeling of freedom is gone, the never ending paranoia returned as Plagg gives her a sad smile and flies back to Chat, Tikki appears again with a smile and Marinette feels so bad that she hates that smile, that she hates the earrings the kwami hands her.

But she smiles and takes the earrings placing them back in her ears as the feeling of freedom is replaced with the pressure of a city on her back and the burning guilt seared her lobes. The feeling of fighting for another miserable day returns and Marinette transforms back into Ladybug and watches as Chat Noir hops away.

She stands there in the same spot as she always has since she was 13 and she couldn’t help but cry.

She longed for the taste of freedom once more…

Well damn… @i-am-thornqueen outdid herself with this one…

Guess it’s only fair to turn myself in for my part in these delightfully sinful heinous acts.

Also, as a bonus, I joked that this was the most amount of clothing I had drawn Mari in to date, and dearest ThornQueen feared I was veering toward the straight and narrow. So naturally, I had to reassure her that was simply not the case, and offered as penance my best piece of art I have ever created.
