—------------------------------------
You and Law didn’t meet in the most conventional way.
—-------
Law stood at the entrance of the bustling campus cafeteria, scanning the area for a place to grab a quick lunch. Amid the crowd, he noticed a girl passionately discussing a book with a group of friends. Her energy and enthusiasm were captivating, and for a moment, Law found himself intrigued.
As he watched, she suddenly stopped mid-sentence and began to sway. Her friends reached out, but before they could react, she collapsed onto a nearby bench, sound asleep. Law's curiosity piqued. He approached her friends, who seemed unfazed by the incident.
"Is she okay?" Law asked, his voice carrying a hint of concern.
One of her friends, a short-ish guy with fluffy black hair, turned to him and smiled. "Yeah, she's fine. She has narcolepsy. It happens sometimes." He tried to swipe her pizza before a tangerine haired girl slapped his hand away.
Law nodded, filing away this new information. He glanced back at the girl, now peacefully napping, and felt a strange pull to learn more about her.
—--------
A few days later, Law found himself in the library, buried in research. He noticed the same girl from the cafeteria asleep at a nearby table, a stack of books around her. He approached quietly, debating whether to wake her.
Just then, her eyes fluttered open. She looked up at him, slightly disoriented, but quickly recovered.
“The fuck-”
"Hi, I'm sorry I startled you."
You reached for your purse as he placed an unopened gatorade on the table and motioned to the chair across from you. Remembering him from your biology class, you nodded and decided to let him sit, hand still on your pink stun gun.
"Law," he introduced himself, taking a seat across from you. "I saw you pass out in the cafeteria the other day."
You chuckled softly. "Yeah, that happens a lot. It's part of having narcolepsy."
Law nodded, his curiosity deepening. "Must be challenging."
"It can be," you admitted. "But you learn to manage. And my friends help out a lot!"
“I hope you don’t mind. I didn’t feel comfortable seeing you alone and asleep.”
'Awe, okay maybe he’s a gentleman.'
You smiled, a mischievous glint in your eye. "Well, at least if I get kidnapped, I'll be well-rested for the ransom negotiations."
Law took a sip of his coffee and immediately choked, nearly spraying it everywhere. He coughed, trying to regain his composure. "Okay, that's... that's one way to look at it," he said, laughing and wiping his mouth. "I guess I'll have to stick around to make sure they demand top dollar for you."
You giggled before hushing yourself when you saw the librarian round the corner. “So sweet to drive up the asking price." You saw a genuine smile flick across Law’s lips and decided to let him stick around.
As they continued to talk, Law found himself drawn to your resilience and positive outlook. You had an infectious zest for life that Law couldn't ignore. So, over the next few weeks, you and Law grew closer.
Turns out you had the same major and classes!
He made it a point to learn more about narcolepsy, wanting to support you as best as he could. You spent time studying together, going to coffee shops, and exploring the campus.
—----------
Park Bench:
One afternoon, Law was walking through the campus park when he noticed a familiar figure sprawled on a bench. He chuckled, recognizing you immediately. You had a book resting on your chest, your peaceful expression illuminated by the dappled sunlight.
"Dreamer," he called softly, sitting beside you. He gently removed the book and adjusted your position to make you more comfortable.
Just then, Luffy and his friends passed by, noticing the scene. Luffy grinned, giving Law a thumbs up. "Taking good care of [Name], Law?"
Law rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his smile. "Yeah, Luffy. Always."
Eating:
During lunch, you and Law sat with a group of his friends. Mid-conversation, you suddenly slumped forward, asleep on the table. Law sighed, used to the sight, and gently lifted your head, placing a folded jacket under it as a makeshift pillow.
Penguin and Shachi, who were sitting across from you, exchanged amused glances. "Hands full?" Penguin questioned with a chuckle.
Law smirked. "You have no idea."
Drive-Through:
One evening, Law decided to take you out for a quick dinner. As he pulled up to the drive-through, he started to place the order when he felt a small weight hit his shoulder. Glancing over, he saw you had fallen asleep, your head resting against him.
He sighed but smiled fondly. "Yeah, can I get two cheeseburgers, one with extra pickles, and a large fries with an apple pie?" he said, already knowing your order by heart.
TA’ing a Classroom:
During one of your lectures, Law received an urgent text from Professor Garp. He hurried to the classroom, finding you asleep at your desk. Your student’s were giggling quietly, but Law's concern was evident.
"Dreamer," he whispered, gently shaking you awake. "Time to go."
You blinked up at him, embarrassed. "Sorry, Law."
"It's okay," he said softly, helping you gather your things. "Let's get you somewhere comfortable."
He picked you up like a small teddy bear and shuffled you out of the door. You gazed up at him, your eyes soft and affectionate. "I must really trust you if I keep falling asleep around you," you said, your voice barely above a whisper before sleep pulled you back under.
Coffee Shop:
You and Law were enjoying a quiet afternoon in your favorite coffee shop. As he was engrossed in a medical journal, he suddenly felt your head against his shoulder. You had fallen asleep, your coffee cup still half-full.
The barista, Sanji, who knew you both well, smiled and whispered to Law, "She’s out again, huh?"
Law nodded, carefully shifting you into his lap. "Yeah, she is."
Later that evening, while watching a movie in Law's apartment, you fell asleep with your head on his shoulder. Law softly adjusted your position, making sure you were comfortable. He watched you sleep, admiring the lovely girl he hadn't expected to drop into his life.
The next day, You woke up in Law's room, covered with a blanket. ‘He must’ve taken the couch.’ You smiled, feeling a warmth in your chest. The first rays of morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow on the room. Law knocked before walking in, holding a cup of coffee. His hair was slightly tousled, and his eyes softened as he saw you awake.
"Morning," he said, handing you a warm mug. The steam rose gently, carrying the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. You sat up fully and pushed yourself against the headboard, your fingers brushing against his as he steadied the mug.
"Thanks," you said, taking a sip. The warmth spread through you, both from the coffee and the gesture. "You didn't have to do that."
"I wanted to," Law said simply, his voice low and sincere. "I care about you."
Your eyes softened as you looked at him, a gentle smile spreading across your face. "I care about you too, Law. Thanks for understanding."
Law smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
"Get used to it. I'm not going anywhere."
—-
It had been a few months and you were now dating. One day, during a particularly stressful exam period, you expressed your frustration. "I feel like such a burden sometimes."
Law looked at you, his eyes serious. "You're not a burden, [Name]. You're important to me. Your condition doesn't change that." He abandoned his book and moved closer, cupping your face in his hands. His touch was gentle yet firm, grounding you.
Law's gaze softened as he rested his forehead against yours. "You're strong, and you're doing your best. We'll get through this together," he murmured, his thumbs gently stroking your cheeks. Law leaned in and placed several soft kisses along the apples of your cheeks, each one filled with reassurance and love.
The heat rose up in your chest and flood through you. "Thank you, Law,” you whispered, your voice trembling slightly. Instead of speaking more, you reached up and gently squeezed Law's hands, your eyes meeting his with a look that conveyed everything you couldn't put into words.
You closed your eyes, feeling the tension slowly melt away. In that moment, the stress of exams and the challenges of your condition seemed more manageable with Law by your side. As you both held each other close, the room filled with a comforting silence, punctuated only by the soft sounds of your breathing.
—------------------------ Moving in together!
Dating Law had always been an adventure. From the intense late-night study sessions to the countless study dates where you'd find each other engrossed in medical journals, dedication was something you both admired deeply. But it wasn’t long before you noticed the dark circles under his eyes, the way his movements grew sluggish as the night wore on, and how he often seemed distant, lost in his thoughts.
One particularly late evening, you found him in his apartment, staring at the ceiling, his eyes wide open despite the exhaustion etched into his features. It was then you realized: Law had insomnia. He never mentioned it, brushing off your concerns with a quick smile and a change of subject, but the signs were undeniable.
That little fucker!
"Law," you said softly, sitting beside him on the bed. "How long have you been dealing with this?"
He sighed, turning to face you. "A while," he admitted. "It's just part of who I am."
You frowned, brushing a hand through his hair. "But it doesn't have to be. You help me so I’m gonna help you. We can figure this out together."
It was that moment that solidified your decision to move in together. If you were going to help each other through medical school and residency, you needed to be there for one another, especially during the tough times.
Moving in together was a significant step, but it felt natural. You found comfort in the rhythm of shared routines and small domestic rituals. Mornings began with sleepy kisses and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, while evenings often ended with both of you sprawled on the couch, medical textbooks spread around, discussing cases and treatments.
Helping Law with his insomnia became part of your routine the way he helped you with your narcolepsy was part of his. You started by creating a calming nighttime environment: dim lights, soft music, and sometimes even a warm bath. But it was the nights when you held him close, your fingers running through his hair, whispering soothing words, that made the most difference.
On nights when sleep seemed to be closing in on you, you’d tackle his big goofy ass into the bed and koala him, creating a cocoon of warmth and safety. "Just breathe," you'd murmur, your voice a gentle anchor in the dark. "I've got you."
He’d relax against you, the tension slowly easing from his body as your fingers traced soothing patterns on his scalp. Sometimes, you’d hum softly, a melody you both loved, letting the music lull him into a sense of peace.
There were still nights when he'd find you asleep first, your body sprawled in the most inconvenient places — fully on top of the kitchen table, upside down on the couch, curled up in the tub (scared the literal shit outta him) or even mid-sentence on your shared bed. He'd just chuckle softly, scooping you up and carrying you to bed, placing a soft kiss on your forehead before tucking you in.
Living together was pretty lit. You learned to navigate each other’s quirks and habits, finding joy in the little things. Your bodies weird sleep patterns weren't a burden but more of a shared challenge, one you faced together. And through it all, the love between you grew stronger, built on a foundation of mutual support and understanding.
Despite the long hours and the relentless demands of your budding medical careers, you found peace in each other’s presence. The moments of rest, however fleeting, were treasured. In the quiet hours of the night, with Law’s head resting on your chest, you’d find yourself smiling, knowing that no matter how tough things got, you’d always have each other to come home to.
Your shared friends played a vital role in this journey as well. They rallied around you and Law, each offering their unique brand of support. Luffy, with his infectious energy, would drag Law into spontaneous campus adventures, exhausting him just enough to help him sleep better. There was a time when Luffy insisted on a late-night beach bonfire, where the sound of the waves and the warmth of the fire finally lulled Law into a deep sleep.
Zoro, in his own quiet way, introduced Law to meditation and breathing exercises, often practicing together in the early mornings before the day’s chaos began. Sanji would cook up hearty meals designed to promote sleep (for you energy), slipping herbal teas into your nightly routine.
"Chamomile for the win," he'd say with a wink, handing Law a steaming cup.
Nami and Robin took a more research-based approach, scouring medical journals and holistic remedies to find anything that might help. They'd often have evenings where they'd share their findings, creating a comprehensive plan that combined traditional and alternative methods.
Chopper, being a doctor prodigy himself, was a great ally. He frequently checked on Law’s progress, suggesting adjustments to his routine or medication.
And then there was Usopp and Franky, who used their engineering skills to design a customized, noise-canceling sleep mask and a comfortable, ergonomic bed that helped reduce stress and promote better sleep. Even Brook, with his calming violin melodies, would sometimes play soothing lullabies, his skeletal fingers dancing over the strings.
Law's friends, initially unsure about your condition, quickly adapted. Bepo, a tall dark skinned man with the best hugs anyone could ever give, and one of Law's closest friends, would carry You to a comfortable spot whenever you fell asleep in odd places. Penguin and Shachi would create makeshift beds with their hats whenever they saw you clock out at the study table. Ikkaku didn’t play about your safety either. If you fell asleep at the pub then she was keeping her arm around you at all times until Law could take you home.
Damn you loved everybody!!~
Living together, surrounded by such a supportive group of friends, made the journey easier. The nights were no longer something to dread but moments of bonding and care. You and Law found a balance, each learning to lean on the other, and the support of your shared friends only strengthened your resolve.
—---------
At Home:
Law arrived home first, pacing the living room as he waited for you. Today he wasn’t able to drive you both due to him being on call. Hearing your car pull up, he stepped outside, just in time to see you struggling to stay awake. Opening the car door for you, he teased, "I'm surprised you didn't fall asleep again."
You smiled sheepishly. "I tried my best." You threw him your keys and decided to leave the bags in the car.
He lifted you effortlessly, carrying you inside. "You need to be more careful, sweetheart. I worry about you."
"You always worry," you replied, resting your head against his shoulder.
"And I'll never stop," he said softly, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead.
Inside, Law set you down on the couch, handing you a glass of water. You looked up at him, eyes filled with gratitude and affection. He sat beside you, taking your hand. "I'll always take care of you, Dreamer. Just promise me you'll try to be more careful."
"I promise," you said, squeezing his hand.
—--------
Office Couch:
One late evening, you finished your shift at the hospital and decided to check on Law in his office. Opening the door quietly, you found him slumped over his desk, fast asleep. His dark circles and the clutter of medical journals around him told you he hadn't been sleeping well.
Smiling softly, you walked over and gently shook his shoulder. "Babe, you need to sleep properly."
He groaned, barely awake. "I'm fine, my love."
"No, you're not," you insisted, helping him up. You led him to the couch in his office, coaxing him to lie down. Once he was settled, you snuggled up beside him, your warmth and presence easing him into a deeper sleep.
Living Room:
One night, you woke up to find the bed empty. Knowing Law's struggle with insomnia, you got up and found him on the couch, wide awake and staring at the ceiling.
"Law," you whispered, sitting beside him. "Can't sleep again?"
He sighed, shaking his head. "No."
Without a word, you laid down beside him, making yourself the big spoon. You wrapped your arms around him, pulling him close. "You know, I don't mind being your personal pillow," you murmured, your fingers gently playing with his hair.
He relaxed against you, his tense muscles slowly unwinding. Your soothing voice and gentle touch worked their magic, and before long, he drifted off to sleep in your embrace.
University Library:
During a late-night study session in the library, you found Law fast asleep amidst a pile of books. You knew he had been pushing himself too hard, so you carefully moved the books aside and slid in next to him.
"Couldn't stay awake without me, huh?"
You wrapped an arm around him, nuzzling your head against his shoulder like a cat. The warmth of your body and the steady rhythm of your breathing provided him with a sense of comfort. Even in his sleep, he instinctively pulled you closer, just loving your presence.
Bedroom:
One particularly rough night, you woke to Law pacing the hallway, unable to settle down. You got out of bed and approached him, wrapping your arms around his waist from behind.
"Come back to bed, Baby," you whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to his back.
He sighed, leaning into your touch. "I can't sleep," he found your hands and raised them to his lips to plant kisses on the back of them. You booped his nose before kissing his shoulder blades. “C’mon,”
You pulled backwards to guide him to the bed and fell backwards, making yourself the big spoon. As you held him close, you began to talk softly, recounting your day and telling him stories. Your fingers threaded through his hair, your voice soothing and rhythmic.
Gradually, you felt his breathing even out, his body relaxing completely. You stayed like that, holding him until you were sure he was deeply asleep, knowing that your presence was his anchor.
Kitchen:
Early one morning, you found Law asleep at the kitchen table, his head resting on his folded arms. He had clearly been up all night, working on something.
You sighed softly, shaking your head with a fond smile. "Oh, babe."
Carefully, you lifted him from the chair, supporting his weight as you guided him to the bedroom. Once he was settled in bed, you climbed in beside him, snuggling close.
"I've got you," you whispered, pressing a kiss to his forehead. He mumbled something incoherent, suddenly wrapping an arm around your hips as he drifted deeper into slumber.
You stayed with him, knowing that even in his dreams, he needed the reassurance of your presence.
After graduation—----
Years had passed since your days as a medical student, and now you were a fully-fledged doctor, training young residents alongside Law. The hospital environment was a bustling hub of activity, and your relationship with Law had to be kept under wraps from the higher-ups. Despite the secrecy, your students couldn't help but notice the chemistry between you two.
"I swear, the Trafalgar’s are such an adorable couple," one of your residents whispered to another during a break.
"Totally! He's all grumpy and she's like his sunshine! They're like hospital mom and dad," the other replied with a grin.
Unbeknownst to them, their playful shipping was not far from the truth. Law's stern demeanor contrasted with your warm, approachable nature, creating a dynamic that both baffled and endeared your students. They would often turn to you for guidance, seeing you as a nurturing figure, while Law's gruff exterior masked his deep care for his residents and patients.
(Freaking softy~)
Despite the progress in managing your narcolepsy, there were still moments when it caught up with you. It never happened during lectures or patient interactions, but sometimes during lunch, in your car, or in the privacy of your office, you would fall into a deep sleep, impossible to wake up from.
One afternoon, after a particularly exhausting morning, you found yourself nodding off during lunch. Your residents, familiar with your condition, quickly alerted Law with a series of beeps. He arrived shortly after, a mix of concern and affection in his eyes as he gently lifted you into his arms.
"You've got to be more careful, Dreamer," he whispered, carrying you to his office where you could sleep undisturbed.
He placed you on the couch, covering you with a soft blanket. Your peaceful expression as you slept brought a smile to his face, even as he sighed at the thought of how hard you pushed yourself.
In the Car:
One evening, after a long shift, you decided to take a moment to rest in your car before heading home. Law was finishing up some paperwork when one of your residents knocked on his door, slightly panicked.
"Dr. Trafalgar? Dr. Trafalgar fell asleep in her car. We can't wake her up."
Law's expression softened as he nodded. "I'll take care of it."
He found you in your car, head resting against the window, completely out cold. Carefully, he opened the door and gently lifted you out, carrying you back to his office.
"Dreamer," he murmured, settling you on the couch once more. "You really need to take it easy."
In Your Office:
During a rare moment of downtime, you had decided to catch up on some paperwork in your office. The next thing you knew, you were waking up to the feeling of Law's arms around you, lifting you from your chair.
"Can't resist taking a nap just to be in my arms?" he teased, carefully carrying you to his office.
You mumbled something incoherent, still barely unconscious, but snuggled closer to him. Law chuckled softly, his heart swelling with affection.
—-----
Law glanced at his phone, the familiar chime indicating a new message. It was from one of the medical students.
"Dr. Trafalgar, she fell asleep in the common room again."
He sighed, a mix of exasperation and fondness crossing his features. Quickly gathering his things, he made his way to the common room. As he entered, he saw you slumped over a pile of textbooks, softly snoring. The sight of you asleep, with your hair slightly tousled and your face relaxed, made him smile despite his concern.
"Dreamer," he murmured, gently shaking your shoulder.
You stirred, blinking sleepily up at him. "Law...?"
"Couldn't wait to fall into my arms, huh?" he smirked, squatting down to your height to plant a kiss on your sleepy head.
He gently lifted you into his arms, feeling your head nestled against his shoulder. Your soft breaths tickled his neck, reminding him of how much he adored these moments, even though he wished they didn't happen under such circumstances. As he carried you through the corridors, fellow doctors and nurses exchanged knowing smiles and whispered comments about the devoted couple.
Arriving at his office, Law gently placed you on the couch he had designated for moments like these. He covered you with a warm, soft blanket and brushed a stray hair from your face. You looked so peaceful, so vulnerable, and it tugged at his heartstrings.
"You're lucky I found you," he said, his tone lighter. "Guess who's getting extra assignments as punishment?"
You pouted, still half-asleep. " 'S not fair..."
"Life's not fair," he replied, smirking. "Ah, you're so cute. Don't even remember we're doctors now."
You mumbled something incoherent, your eyes half-closed, but a playful thought crossed your mind. "No, but I know who I married!~"
Law's eyes widened in realization, a grin spreading across his face. "Oh, look who's not really asleep!"
Before you could respond, he unleashed a tickle attack, making you squirm and squeal uncontrollably. The light of his office caught your wedding rings, making them shine brightly. You tried to fend him off, but your laughter and sleepiness weakened your defenses.
"Law! Stop!" you giggled, trying to catch your breath.
With a mischievous glint in your eye, you decided to turn the tables. You reached up and bit his collarbone, catching him off guard, before you began to tickle him back. Law's deep chuckles filled the room as he tried to evade your wiggly fingers, but you were relentless.
"Don’t you dare!" he managed between laughs, his usual stoic expression replaced with one of pure joy.
The two of you ended up rolling around on the couch, tickling and laughing until you were both breathless and tangled in the blanket. You finally stopped, both of you lying there, panting and grinning at each other.
"Okay, okay, truce," Law said, holding up his hands in surrender.
You snuggled closer to him, resting your head on his chest. "Truce," you agreed, your eyes closing as you felt the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
Law wrapped his arms around you, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "Get some rest, my wife. I've got you."
As you drifted back to sleep, the warmth of the blanket and Law's presence lulling you into a peaceful slumber, Law watched over you, his heart full of love and admiration for his wife.
His wife!
The two of you had made it through college, med school, residency, board exams, your shitty sleep schedules and really made it out the other end.
The sight of you nestled comfortably, your hair fanned out on the pillow, brought a sense of worship over him. He gently adjusted the blanket around you again, ensuring you were snug and warm. As he settled back into his chair to work, the sound of your soft, steady breathing was the sweetest music to his ears. It filled the room with a sense of calm, a gentle reminder of the love and life you shared.
Law often found himself pausing in his work to steal glances at you, his heart pounding against his ribs. Your presence grounded him, reminded him of what truly mattered. The stresses of the day faded into the background, replaced by the serene comfort of your love.
He marveled at your resilience, your unwavering spirit, and the way you faced each day with a smile, despite the challenges your condition brought. And then you had to go in and save him, too. With your warmth, the gentle touches and those little kisses you ghosted over him while he slept. All those nights he couldn’t sleep he was shakey and on the verge of tears and you’d bathe him and calm him down. You let him into your life and he was going to thank you every day for it.
With you, even the mundane felt extraordinary. And as he sat there, watching over you, he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Blessed for your love, your partnership, and the beautiful journey you were on together. Life, with all its unpredictability and challenges, was perfect because he had you to share it with.
Despite the casual chaos of your busy lives, this moment reminded him of why he cherished you so deeply. Life, with all its demands and pressures, was brighter with you by his side. And as he worked, the sound of your soft, steady breathing was the sweetest music to his ears.
“I love you.”

——————————
——————————
It was a brand new morning. A beautiful day with the sun shining as the dark haired woman strode through the outdoor market. Even this early, music was already drifting from nearby, guitar strings were strumming as vendors finished setting up for their day.
Despite the rising tempo of that musician’s fingers over those strings, no one Viola saw was yet in a hurry. No one seemed nervous. She could hear laughter as people greeted one another, passing in the street. She could see their smiles.
This was her island and her people, briefly feeling to her as they always should have.
The Donquixote soldiers that were meant to be acting as her guards, she’d ordered to stay as far back from her as possible.
They would not be ruining this rare taste of freedom for her as she did come upon an older man seated on a stool with a guitar. The origin of the sound she’d been hearing for several minutes on her morning walk as she nodded down to him.
“Good morning, Señor. That song you were playing, it’s a favorite of mine. I was hoping to meet you.” She complimented him.
“Ah, you’re too young to know it.” He paused, a little surprised at her attention. But smiling gently at her all the same. “My wife taught it to me years ago. She sang and I played back then.”
And the way he said this, with that brief look in his eyes as he did, she knew what he really meant.
A wife that was no longer here. Someone that had been taken from him. But Viola still smiled softly. Because that sadness wasn’t an emotion she would want to truly lose. It was the shadow that love left behind. It was all they had left.
“My sister and I would attempt to sing that song.” She shared with him in return. “But she was the far better singer than me. She passed two years ago.”
This was the polite way people in Dressrosa referenced that tumultuous time, when hell had first opened its gates within their country.
And that devil’s sycophants were now the ones lingering, growing further impatient a few food stalls away.
But Doflamingo’s guards could wait. They could wait forever for all she cared.
“I suppose I haven’t tried much since then…to sing I mean. So would you play that song one more time please, Señor? It’s been so long. But today seems a bit special I think. I’d like to try to sing it again.” She told him.
And he laughed. “You young people and your romantic hearts! I’m sure you’ll be at the colosseum with all of the others today then? It seems quite fast doesn’t it? But I suppose no man wants to be alone forever. Even a king!” Yet he didn’t leave her time to agree or disagree, amused at her as he began strumming those opening chords once more.
A surprise announcement had come from the palace last night. Spreading quickly across the island all before midnight curfew.
This afternoon all were invited, or rather expected at the Corrida Colosseum. And the king himself would be in attendance. Unusual as of late, as he’d been devoting so much time to his growing underworld alone.
Those secret dealings seemingly his only focus all until that trip he’d taken to Mariejois, to the kingdom some called heaven. Something about a war on a distant island that he didn’t want the marines interceding in. Long enough ago now that Viola had gotten to bear witness to the accumulating changes in him every day since.
“In the heavens I would have power…” Viola’s voice began carefully, not fully out of tune. But certainly out of practice as she began the first verse in time with the man’s guitar.
And you, the marine woman that the officers’ whispers and minds had said Doflamingo had actually coveted for years, the one he’d first consummated with there at the home of the gods, would also be his official guest at the colosseum this evening.
Speculation was running wild through the citizens now of what this could all mean.
In the beginning Viola had not cared, except to pity you. She knew that all Doflamingo was was the thin skin of a man pulled tightly over the bones of a demon.
Yet an incident had occurred at the palace yesterday, enough to shake even her cynical heart.
“This night like the darkness within a well. With a knife made of moonlight I would cut the bars of your jail...” Her words kept on.
Doflamingo had kept her hidden away ever since your arrival. Yet more evidence that something may really be different here.
He didn’t want her to know his real plans for you. He didn’t want the two of you to meet.
Not yet.
“If I were the queen of the daylight, of the wind, and the sea, I would tie my own slave ropes in exchange for your freedom…”
The man who had never once hesitated to punish her by showing her the most grotesque and violent thoughts of what he’d like to do to new prey had suddenly been keeping everything to himself.
Why should it matter for her to know exactly how he wanted to break you? Rape you and defile you. Grind your will to dust, and then discard you once bored as he had to so many other men and women that had briefly caught his eye.
“Ay sorrow, little sorrow, sorrow of my heart…”
Doflamingo was a passionate man, even a romantic one in truth. But just at that most carnal level she had thought.
“I don’t wan’t flowers, money, or adulation.”
Violence, seduction, and jealousy were the only notes he excelled at within that complicated dance.
But yesterday there had been a culmination of tensions. Viola had been astonished to hear that panic going through the castle, to see it in so many anxious minds.
You had fought Trebol. You had fought Doflamingo himself.
And suicide is what that choice was, no matter the circumstances. Because it had never mattered to Doflamingo before whether or not someone was innocent. To go against the executives in any way, even in self defense, was absolute suicide. It was an attack on Doflamingo himself.
But maybe you weren’t the coward that she felt she was to hide amongst them. Maybe you had already refused her fate and chosen your own exit instead.
She would not have blamed you.
Yet all evening she had stressed. Wondering how Doflamingo would cover up your death. But every moment that she still even remembered who you were had been equally confusing.
Why hadn’t he at least brought you to Sugar?
But finally, late that night, something in her had insisted she show a bit of her own remnants of a spine. She had dared to use her sight to scan the palace for the king or yourself and learn the truth. She’d expected the worst. Your body torn apart, and new horrific tortures she’d never be able to unsee.
Yet that was not what she had found.
“I want you to let me cry for your sorrows, and to be at your side my dear, drinking the tears of your loneliness…”
Doflamingo was with you, yes. But not in one of the dungeons. Not with you screaming or begging for him to stop and to release you with death at last.
The Heavenly Demon had been curled around you in his own bed, clinging to you with a seeming level of anxiety she’d never witnessed in that creature before.
He had been watching you as you slept, a stricken look on his face.
“My eyes hurt because I look without seeing you…”
And this was the real reason Viola now spun, unable to stop from finally dancing a bit as well in the continued rhythm of that man’s guitar.
“Sorrow of my heart that flows within my veins, with the strength of a hurricane…”
Doflamingo was afraid.
“Sorrow, the same as a cloud of darkness and flint. A runaway colt that knows not where it goes…”
Doflamingo had a weakness at last.
“It’s a desert of sand, sorrow, it’s my glory in a jail. Ay, jail! Ay sorrow! Little sorrow…”
And it was a woman.
Viola had decided that she would do everything in her power to further your influence now.
She would force herself to live long enough to see if this little crack in him could spread.
A new opening in his blackened heart that may one day be big enough to force her dagger through.
———————————
Last night Doflamingo had remained strange. Mostly silent as his focus stayed split between his real body and what you assumed was the string clone still working for him somewhere else in the castle.
After making you eat, there had been that brief feel of tenderness though as you’d both undressed and he’d brought you into his shower.
The same powder of glass that’d still been in your hair from the fight, he’d then helped you to wash clean.
That and Trebol’s remaining mucus too. The warlord had kept you from losing your balance on your still weak legs, standing in the water’s spray with you as you’d scrubbed off the last of that residue.
You’d felt his cock against you too, half hard again without either of you even speaking to one another. But he hadn’t fucked you.
After drying back off, drinking, and eating more of the food his servants brought, you’d then fallen asleep nude in his bed even before the sun had set.
At times last night you’d felt his movements beside you. But he still didn’t talk. He didn’t make you open your eyes and interact with him.
And you were fine with that.
He’d already hurt you enough for one day. You’d had nothing else you wanted to give him as you’d kept up the imitation of sleep while he’d held you tightly.
The same as he still was now as you finally did look to the ceiling again. Just the faintest bit of new sunlight was escaping the edges of his closed curtains.
It remained dim here within his bedroom, cave like really as you felt his steady breathing against your skin. His face buried against your neck, his arms wrapped around your torso, and his legs curled up to trap your own.
But your body still ached. Now with those newest additions of a severely bruised sternum and ribs to match from you taking his hits nearly full on yesterday without armament.
He’d never given any further apology either. And the more you’d thought of even that briefest one, you’d realized it was only a-
Sorry I misread that situation.
Sorry their mistakes made me do that.
Not actual self-accountability. Not even a hint that he wouldn’t do it all again if fed bad information once more.
And you were stuck still reliving it. Hearing the door rip apart, and the glass break as he came for you, The pain when he threw you down and the pressure when you couldn’t breathe.
But that would fade as the bruises did. You knew in time you’d move on from that. Just like anytime you’d been hurt in the field, anytime you’d been knocked down before.
The thing you couldn’t shake as cleanly was how much it hurt inside as well this time. Because it wasn’t just physical pain any longer.
It’d hurt to look up at the man you still wanted as they’d started to crush your chest in.
That was a torture that should never happen to anyone.
But something touched your face and you startled from your spiraling thoughts.
Your head turned and you saw a crimson eye narrowed at you. The milky white one beside it still mostly closed against your shoulder as the pad of his finger wiped your newly wet cheek.
“Are you ever going to stop crying?” Doflamingo’s voice asked so abruptly then. Deep, but quiet in its continued proximity to you.
“I didn’t know that I was.” You answered honestly, caught off guard and letting the heel of your hand wipe the rest of that dampness away as you looked back to the ceiling.
He made a noise in response. Dismissive, but you could still feel his gaze on you.
“What’s done is done. It’s over.” He said next, making the easy assumption of what still had you rattled. And that bit of irritation was resuming in him already because of it.
But he didn’t know the real extent. You were sure that he didn’t.
“Sorry.” You were the one to say that useless word then. But you were just trying to end the subject. Trying to make him stop.
“You’re not.” He contended.
And your eyes did look back to him then. Fresh concern in your expression no doubt.
But you felt him just stretching his legs back out. His cock was soft, but it grazed you as he adjusted his hips. He was laying on his side with his body pressed to you so firmly still.
“What more do you want from me?” He spoke against your ear now. As if you were the one still being unreasonable. “I didn’t even maim you. What do you think I would have done to any other person on this island that took matters into their own hands as you did? Regardless of why.” He said next. His hand was sliding across your stomach now.
But his fingers just kept moving lower before you could answer. The longest finger, his middle one, parted your slit in one smooth movement to begin rubbing your clit.
And just like that it was all about what your body could give him again.
Whether you were ready for this or not.
And apparently you were not. Not as you heard your own voice so suddenly, firing back at him. “Well…did you fuck me yesterday morning too? Because that didn’t help! I woke up with strangers in the room, and then had that running down my leg. It could have been anyone!”
You’d taken that disgust out on Trebol too you were sure. Everything was connected in this continued trauma.
The movement of Doflamingo’s finger paused at your outburst.
That red eye stared at you, sharp and narrowed as he lifted his head again.
“Watch your tone with me, woman.”
Two of his fingers pushed right into your entrance then with that warning. He hooked those fingers actually, the pressure making your expression change.
“Doffy,” You grunted because it hurt.
It was meant to hurt.
“Of course I fucked you. And I don’t care if you could feel it or not. If you could remember it or not. I need you, you stupid bitch.” He answered though, with that tone of hatefulness reemerging all over again.
But you were watching his face.
You saw when he swallowed. When the contempt began to change to a more general upset the more aroused he became. “I can’t stop. Not when you’re the only thing that feels right.”
And there was the additional cruelty of his own inconsistent feelings.
He’d berate you. He’d hurt you, and in the very next breath he’d practically infer that he couldn’t exist without you.
His lips were on your jaw then too. You felt his tongue ghost against your skin.
His teeth nipped that same skin. “So quit acting like you don’t understand. Like you don’t want me too…you need this. You need me.”
The two fingers inside of you were now beginning to slide in and out. They pumped into you as his tongue stretched out further this time, leaving a long wet streak across the side of your face.
“But if you really are so offended…then do something about it. Punish me. Make me feel it. Fuck me back.” He taunted next.
“What?” You breathed, at a frustrating loss for his exact meaning while his fingers continued mercilessly. The way he’d said this gave away that it was now something different he was asking for.
“I’ll let you. I’d do that for you.” He grunted, his hips shifting suddenly as you now felt the tip of that awakened cock rubbing against you.
“I don’t…I don’t know what you’re talking about.” And the words were already getting harder to say.
Harder to think of as you felt yourself getting wetter for him regardless. His fingers moving in and out so much easier now.
“Your cunt wants a break doesn’t it?” His crudeness continued. “Your ass too after what I did to you, right? I fucked you so hard when I was in there the other night, didn’t I?”
And you were feeling more heat inside of you with every insulting word.
But he was starting to smile again. He looked so hungry actually. “Then do it to me. I’ll show you how.”
His thumb was back over your clit, working it in tandem to his fingers now quickening their already rough pace inside.
“Cum for me, and then I’ll let you fuck me. We’re both going to feel good today after the shit we got put through. We deserve this.”
Oh, so now you were a team all of the sudden? As if the power imbalance here wasn’t still so extreme.
But it didn’t matter.
Not when Doflamingo’s tongue was now forcing its way past your teeth.
You heard and felt him moan into your mouth. It was so dirty. So unrestrained really as your thighs opened up even more for him.
You were both disgustingly pathetic.
And the wet sound of his fingers in and out of you only made everything that much worse as you started clenching around his fingers.
That tension was building in your belly.
“Cum for me…let go. You’re so close already aren’t you, love?” He broke the kiss enough to say this against your mouth. Right before he nipped your bottom lip.
The sharp little pain was almost simultaneous to that whip like feel. Like a tightening rope finally snapping inside as you felt your body tremble and hot fluid wash over his fingers.
Doflamingo inhaled sharply, looking down at the unexpected mess that had made.
The humiliation you felt was instant, but the remnants of the full body orgasm he’d just given you weren’t easily dismissed either.
You were panting.
And you heard him laugh. He laughed before his face was then nuzzling back into yours.
“I guess I should have let you take a piss before we started, huh?”
It wasn’t excessive. But it was well enough for you both to know that couldn’t all be female ejaculate. Enough to make a wet spot you could now feel beneath you on the bed.
“Asshole.” You muttered, even with his face still warmly against yours.
“It means I fucking rocked that sweet spot, didn’t I, marine?” He sounded all too smug in response. And even more flirty too as he kissed the side of your face. “Don’t be embarrassed, lover…even though you’re goddamn cute when you are. We’re not done yet anyway. Now it’s my turn.”
His grin widened too then as his fingers finally slid back out of you. He just wiped that hand on the dryer portion of the bedsheets before he flung the blankets fully away to better expose himself to you.
Doflamingo let go of you to move onto his back, propping himself into the pillows and looking so comfortable then before he motioned to the nightstand.
“Be a good, wet girl for me then, and crawl over there to get the biggest one so we can play some more. It’s all or nothing for me.” And he sounded like he was goddamn bragging. Bragging and commanding you all at once as your mind had yet to fully accept what was now happening here.
You were still trying to process the orgasm that had made your legs feel like jelly all over again.
What in the fuck was your actual life in this moment as you did crawl across the mattress eventually, then on your knees at its edge before you could reach the drawer of his nightstand and pull it open.
Which was a sight that really should not have been meant for your naive eyes. There were toys in there that you didn’t even know the use of. Intimidating things you were afraid to even goddamn touch as you peered down into that private stash.
Packs of condoms were there too, different kinds of lubes, and more…pills? They weren’t the same shape or color as the ones you’d taken before. They were in a clear bag, beside another bag with some kind of white powder inside of it.
The fuck was that?
You did not want to reach your hand in.
“Just grab a dildo, woman. This doesn’t have to be complicated.” Doflamingo chided. A little louder then, getting more impatient.
And you did have to force yourself. Pushing the unknown things out of the way to sort through some of the more familiar looking style of toys.
You pulled one out that seemed to be the largest like he’d requested, and it looked entirely painful by your personal standards. Bigger than any of those he’d used on you the other night. But honestly, very close to his own physical size once you glanced back at him with the toy in your hand.
“That’ll do.” He smirked. “I couldn’t remember how many I still had in there.”
And he settled back even further into the pillows, putting his arms briefly behind his head as he began spreading his legs.
“Don’t worry about lube, beautiful…let me see you use that mouth of yours instead.”
“What?” You stared.
His always impressive cock was flushed with blood by this point, hard for this long already without any relief. Rising up from that fine blond pubic hair and pointing firmly towards the ceiling as he held his thighs open shamelessly to show you it all.
One of his hands did move back down, lifting his own sack off of the mattress as he began to palm it.
“Suck the toy, marine. Deep throat that if you can. I want it good and wet before I show you how to really take it.”
But you didn’t want to. Your hesitation clearly said as much.
And his reactions were becoming that much sharper in response.
“Oh goddamn it, don’t be so high maintenance. Anything in that drawer was already washed. It’s clean.”
Your eyebrows still lowered. Yes, even you knew how arbitrary it seemed on the things you would finally resist him on.
But the way he was leering at you, the way his legs were spread eagle and waiting like you owed him this. This wasn’t even an experience you had had before.
And something about it made you feel more like a whore than ever.
“What is wrong with you?” Came his exasperated tone next when you still hadn’t put that dildo in your mouth.
And your shoulders sank. He was on that edge of getting angry all over again.
“If you fucking cry one more time…” He still fussed as your posture had changed however. That blood vessel starting to show in his forehead. “I already said I was sorry, (Y/N)!”
That damn word again. But it sounded so petulant this time.
So desperate.
“Just give me that, you idiot.” And a string had jerked the dildo from your hand. Pulling it away from you and into his grip instead as his tongue angrily ran out to run the length of it.
He put the whole thing in his own mouth soon after even as he glared at you.
Spit edged from his lips as he began to suck it.
You were of course stunned once more. Discomfort still there for you too as you watched this inexplicable scene while Doflamingo’s cheeks hollowed out with that purposeful sucking. And he didn’t choke at all, nearly the full length of the toy then within his mouth as he pumped it in and out briefly while watching you spitefully.
When he did pull it all the way out again, spit was fully down his chin and soaked across that toy.
He did not care.
“That’s how it’s fucking done.” He growled, but still not looking away from your face. “Get over here. Now.”
And you did comply again then. But with that unwillingness still in your expression as you crawled back to him on the bed.
As soon as you were close enough though, his hand that was not holding the toy shot up to catch you by your throat.
You made a defensive sound and he smirked as he felt the resistance of your armament already beneath his squeezing hand.
“Why does everything have to be this difficult lately? I thought we were having fun.” He lamented, actually unable to make you choke that easily in how strongly your armament was then shielding you. You weren’t as weak as you’d been yesterday.
And he sighed when you still wouldn’t submit to this even rougher play. But he smiled again as he let you go just as abruptly. He finally used the back of his hand to wipe his chin then.
“I just want you to fuck me, lover…I don’t take rejection well you know. You’re hesitating too much. You’re hurting my feelings.”
The last words were said mockingly. But he was still goddamn insane, as usual. Just jumping from one emotion to the next. Had either of you even been awake long enough yet to already be going through all of this?
You took a deep breath. “I’m not rejecting you, Doffy. I’m just-“ Overwhelmed? Depressed? Traumatized?
“I just want things not to hurt. I don’t want anything else to hurt right now.” You managed, but still feeling at a complete loss of how to make someone like him understand any of this if even for a moment.
And the responding coldness in his eyes was far from comforting as he grabbed your wrist this time, bringing you onto his lap to straddle him.
“But life is pain. So why ask me for the impossible?” His tone was still short, but his volume did quiet as he held you there.
With you there between his legs, he brought that still wet dildo down between you both. He inhaled, letting your wrist go as he reached to grab himself again. He was then holding his own balls up and out of the way as he moved that toy beneath them.
He still spoke to you as he did, his eyes on yours as he angled it against his own opening that you could not see. “The important thing is that we can now hurt together. You have me. And I’m showing you my pain too, aren’t I? I’m letting you in.”
And he groaned a little, you getting to see that true discomfort move across his face as the tip first entered him.
You were silent as Doflamingo breathed deeper, him pausing as if to adjust to even that much of it inside of him.
“Damn. It really has been a while...” He said, like he was a bit taken aback himself at the new feeling.
But with it now started, his large hand moved back over your wrist.
His grip was warm, and far more gentle this time as he guided your hand to the base of that toy.
“I want it to be you.” He breathed again. There was no mask of a smile any longer. Just this man looking up at you needfully, anxiously even as he made your hand close around the toy. “Push it in, love. Fast or slow…whatever feels right to you. I trust your judgement…please.”
And even if you were sure that every new word of his was fully intended to make you have the exact reaction that you now were, this still wasn’t something you could control.
You felt the new heat in your chest as his tone had changed. You were embarrassed again. It felt like you’d never even had sex before all of the sudden.
And of course you hadn’t like this. Not with the roles reversed this way.
You knew what it felt like for you though, to have that pressure just edging your entrance. The longer you made him wait, the less kind that would be, wouldn’t it?
Oh, you were so in over your head though. Yourself flustered and him still never looking away from you as you finally did start to push it in him.
Doflamingo gasped quietly, his lips parting in a way that immediately had you feeling some kind of way between your own legs again.
Your body was fully confused in this moment actually.
But his wasn’t. You saw his abdominal muscles tense and even his cock twitch as you still slid that thick toy gradually deeper inside of this man.
The resistance was weird, but you could tell he was relaxing as much as he could. You were being so mindful of his expressions too. Even pausing to let him adjust again whenever you’d see that brief flit of pain reenter his eyes.
And something about that level of care from you did bring a rare softer look across his attractive face. “I knew it…” He chuckled despite himself. “If you had a dick, you’d be so gentle with it at first. Wouldn’t you, my love? So responsible with your weapons.”
He was smiling again then, a fully pleasured one before he let out a small moan when you did continue pressing in again.
“Almost flush…come on.” He said next. His eyes were going half lidded too. A near look of adoration in them now for you. “It feels so good, woman…don’t stop.”
It was hard to look away from those rare emotions either, you not wanting to miss out on any of what he was now offering you in return.
But you also found yourself uneasy to finally realize that all of that toy but the bit you were still holding onto had now disappeared.
It was all the way in. He’d really taken it so well.
And he was still laying on his back beneath you, thighs spread wantonly with his head and shoulders just barely propped up in the pillows as a new urge overcame you.
You left the toy fully in him as you moved back up that long torso of his just enough to kiss him again.
And this surprised him. Likely so much of his focus already just on that sensation of being filled, waiting for you to start thrusting before your mouth was abruptly over his.
But he certainly didn’t stop you. Far from it as his mouth opened in return, wanting to taste you again immediately as you felt his hips roll. His hand grabbed into your hair to hold you to him long enough to deepen that kiss as well.
“Oh, fuck,” Doflamingo breathed against your lips in between kisses, nipping them briefly again when he didn’t want to let go of you. “You don’t know what you do to me…no one…they didn’t do it like this.”
And he wasn’t even making sense now.
But he was trying to.
So you did pull back a little, your hand then stroking down his chest as you listened to him.
And even that additional soft touch set him off too. His hips rolled hard again as he looked at you desperately. “Why…why are you like this? Why are you so good to me?” He managed, finally articulating what he really meant with the last words. “Why are you so kind to me?”
Of course that question stunned you all over again. But not just for hearing it from his mouth. Because you weren’t sure how he’d even come to that conclusion, and right now of all times.
“I…what did I do?” You asked genuinely, letting him begin kissing your jawline again when you hadn’t yet moved back fully away yet.
“This. Goddamnit all of this.” His frustration was palpable. But he didn’t want to stop. “You…you don’t just fuck me. You kiss me…you hold me. You pet me…it drives me fucking crazy.”
Really? Just because of those simple things?
Your own surprise was surely evident. In all the bodies he must have partaken of through the years, you were somehow a standout?
And for what?
Just for being intimate with him? For giving instead of just taking or cowering?
“Doffy…don’t you get it?” You asked him suddenly then. Your hand was still warm over his chest. You had paused your palm there as you could feel his heartbeat beneath his muscles. That beat was growing faster. “I give you what I would want. I mean…why wouldn’t I do that?”
And his hand moved over yours against his chest. He squeezed your hand, very tightly but not quite painful.
He smirked darkly. “You…are either the best or the worst thing that has ever happened to me in this hellhole.” But his hips moved again as that laugh of his emanated out. “So fuck me like you love me. Finish me properly.“
Almost gently he pushed you back then, back down to sit near his open legs again as he put your hand back on the end of that toy.
It was clear what he wanted most now, rolling his hips again as he watched you needfully.
And so you did it. No more stalling as you gave your monster what he wanted. Thrusting that toy at whatever speed he would take.
First slow, and then faster as you got to watch the king of Dressrosa begin to fully unravel for you.
But you felt no guilt. Nor did he want you to. Doflamingo’s approval was clear in the way he threw his head back and even arched against the mattress the more you pressed.
“Fuck…yes, it’s been too long…yes, just like that…” He moaned as those claws of his began fisting into the bedsheet.
And before long it was your own name repeatedly leaving his panting chest.
You would have been lying to say it wasn’t making new slick between your own legs to hear his normally prideful voice start to break for you that way too.
But you were still more focused on what you were doing to him. Not what it was causing in you as his eyes met yours again.
“Harder…I know you can. Please, (Y/N).” He was already speaking in gasps now. But you still obliged, feeling like you were holding a damn dagger by this point.
Being told to stab it into him over and over, working your wrist and your arm to do so.
His poor cock looked to be painful by now as well as it bobbed in the air with the continued movement of his hips, nothing to thrust into as it leaked precum all over the head.
And in all of his panting and the increasing volume of your name across his lips like some kind of prayer, the thought did finally cross your mind to do something with that neglected cock.
He didn’t deserve it of course. Not after all he’d already done to you. You’d just told him how messed up it’d been that he’d still fucked you when you were blacked out too. You’d told him you wanted a break from hurting.
But his moans kept on. This shameless motherfucker who could abuse you so thoroughly, and then turn around the very next day and gladly put on a vulnerable display like this.
Your own renewed slick was now thick enough to actually begin edging out. Gravity bringing a hint of it onto your thigh in the way you were currently positioned as your hand still moved to keep fucking Doflamingo.
You didn’t want to get pounded by him yet. You really didn’t as your body was still very unhappy in all the damage it had accumulated recently.
But just being filled yourself for a moment? You could tolerate that couldn’t you? He wasn’t going to be lasting much longer anyway. The changing rhythm of his panting always gave him away when he was already this near climax.
What would his face be if you did this though? Would that expression be worth any additional price you were about to pay?
His eyes were closed now, he was living for those sensations you were rocking through his body as his hips moved in time with your non stop thrusting of that toy.
Which made it trickier. Keeping your hand and arm movement going, thankfully with some marine stamina to help you out there as you raised up onto your spread knees.
Just open enough to fit him between your thighs of course.
And the mattress movement as you shifted wasn’t enough to warn him. Even if it was, he likely thought you were only trying to find a more comfortable way to sit.
He couldn’t know anything was actually different until he’d felt the first touch of something against the tip of his weeping cock.
But by the time his eyes had opened, your slick had made that initial push all too easy. Just that brief spike of pressure to clear the head, and that small gasp of pain from you before you had slid down onto as much of his length as you could take.
Your channel squeezed around him immediately as his girth stretched you painfully as always, tight to the point of almost being too much to withstand.
And the absolutely awestruck look on Doflamingo’s face as he fully realized what you’d just done, without even being asked to, was an expression you doubted you’d ever see from him again. He nearly came right then and there with that surprise you were sure.
Only you stopping your thrusting of the toy briefly then as you’d tried to adjust to him inside of you had allowed him that extra time to process this.
You were still having to hold yourself up a little as well, not wanting to put too much pressure against your cervix as you watched the man beneath you try to remember his own voice.
You had rendered the Heavenly Demon speechless. Though his hands wasted no time finding your hips, helping you steady yourself on his length.
Reflexively you tightened on him again and you felt his cock twitch inside of you in response.
He took another shaky breath, still staring at you like you weren’t even human any longer. Like you had materialized straight from the heavens to anoint him with this dual pleasure.
“Let go of the toy,” his voice was practically a rasp when it finally did reemerge. “I’ll move it. You just sit there and stay tight on me…god, gods I can’t…I…fuck I love you. I love you so fucking much.”
And he sounded like he was pleading, or dying. Like you were actually killing part of this man.
But you saw his fingers move. You were getting better at seeing his strings too. The tiny glimmers they made even here in the shadows of those still closed curtains.
His strings were now hooked to the toy. He was going to fuck himself while you took care of his cock in the way only you could.
And once that did restart, with the toy moving in and out with his strings and you rocking your hips and squeezing around his attention starved shaft simultaneously, Doflamingo let out a euphoric moan louder than any before it. One they had to have heard all the way downstairs.
And it was your name he was calling out to the world.
Like a curse and a salvation for him all at once. It was a fucking scream as he finally came.
He was shuddering, thrusting up into you as you felt his cock pulse again and again. Each pump a shot full of his seed, hot and purposeful.
“Yes…goddamn yes,” he was still panting, still trembling as he pulled you down onto his body. His cock continuing to empty itself inside of you as he held you to him.
And you let him do it. You breathed with him, the heat of that fire between you both so apparent again.
It had become make up sex with a king. Reconciliation with your warlord as one of his hands moved back into your hair and the other went protectively across your back.
He was caging you to him as his chest rose and fell. And you closed your eyes in that warmth, silent again just to hear him breathing.
You did love this part of it. You really did.
If only it was enough to ever outweigh every other fault in you both.
—————————
He’d let the servants open the curtains at last while they’d delivered breakfast at his command. This new sunlight filling the dining area not being something he’d normally ask for. He usually liked it cooler, darker in here within his chambers. A less stimulating environment when he needed that to withdraw to.
But he wanted to see you better this morning. He wanted to appreciate what was still fully novel to him as you sat near him. Just the two of you sharing a quiet breakfast at the long table in his suite.
He’d only pulled on a pair of pants. Shirtless and barefoot, blond hair not even combed yet as he ate while watching you.
Sex always made him hungry. And he knew you were still working from a caloric deficit anyway. He’d figured out already that you ate less and less the more stressed you were.
Like bringing home an exotic pet, he had to learn your environmental quirks. He had to force you to stay healthy enough to survive after all of his personal investment already in you.
And he’d known there’d be an adjustment period. Some violence surely if you were pushed too far, too fast.
But Crocodile had thrown fuel on that fire. And it’d nearly worked. Just like everything that reptile did. The plan was almost good enough, but fell short in the final leg. A stumble right at the finish line.
He hadn’t even called Crocodile yet either. Though Doflamingo’s mind had churned with so many thoughts of revenge and how close he’d really come to losing you. Painfully angry even long into last night as he’d lain awake holding you while thinking of how to fix this.
That sandy fucker had no right to toy with him now. And just like in Scylla, when Doflamingo had had to abruptly pivot, deciding to bring you home then and there after Crocodile’s attack, he’d felt his hand being forced yet again now.
He had to let his enemies know there was no indecisiveness in him. You weren’t just a new distraction they may be able to harm and thereby simply annoy him or force him to negotiate for.
This wasn’t him just taking a new mistress for fun. This was him setting up the future that he wanted. You were his family now.
And he was going to let the world know. Then if anyone still dared to come for you, they’d have to do so in full knowledge of the scorched earth that would bring them.
No one harmed his family.
“After we eat, I do have some more things to take care of this morning. But I need you dressed in your best marine garb for this afternoon. I’m taking you to the colosseum then. And I’m expecting practically every seat to be filled there. Diamante is quite the promoter for special events like this.”
The piece of potato omelette still on your fork held there for a moment as you glanced over to him. You so casual yourself in some faded marine training shirt, the material thinned enough that he had been enjoying you clearly being braless beneath it.
“To fight?” You asked surprisingly serious.
Enough so that he scoffed, rolling his uncovered eyes at you. You were still an idiot at times. Still a human after all. “To spectate, darling.” Not that the idea of you fully healed, running around the arena breaking jaws with your kicks and slitting throats with that rope dart of yours wasn’t a very strong turn on in its own right.
There weren’t many female gladiators. The public would eat that shit up if you could be flashy enough about it. You were a bit serious when you fought right now.
Maybe after the child came. You’d probably be itching by then for some postpartum violence and a return to form.
You were a warrior after all.
“We’ve fallen off of the front page again in the papers if you hadn’t noticed. I think it’s time for another public appearance.”
“Why would I want to be in the newspaper? Fuck that.” And you did start eating your omelette again then.
It was obvious the drugs were back out of your system at least. Those pills had dulled you so much yesterday. Your attitude was back in full force today.
But he was in a good mood now. Getting to penetrate you while you penetrated him was an itch he had not expected to be so thoroughly scratched this morning. That had been fucking paradise actually. “Because you want to help our dear mother, don’t you?” Doflamingo taunted, smirking in full knowledge of how much this was going to push your buttons.
And you stilled again, giving him a colder look immediately there. “Tsuru?” You still had to ask.
“Obviously.” He confirmed. “I mean, you’re not fully stupid I know.” He was just being a dick for the sake of it now. He was enjoying every additional interaction with you actually. “Haven’t you wondered why she’s been stationed on the same pitiful island chain for weeks upon weeks now? A strategist like her should have had that rebellion extinguished in days.”
“Have you had your hand in it?” You accused abruptly then.
And he was honestly a little surprised at that. But you were still learning him too. He could forgive it for now. He had obviously benefited by her being away there for so long too. Those circumstances alone had practically dropped you into his lap.
“I don’t interfere with Tsuru-san. Not as Joker, not as me. No, I cut all ties with Lyra as soon as she got assigned there. I’m not the one delaying her.” He said honestly, even through the remaining skepticism in your eyes.
“It’s the world government that decided to bury that place, long and slow with blockades she’s been ordered to maintain. And Big News Morgans has started snooping around about it. So many have died. He’ll drag Tsuru’s name through the mud too if he doesn’t have a better story to sell papers with soon. So you and I can be that story and save her the defamation.”
“How many have died?” You were starting to look more bothered. You were realizing you may actually believe him.
As you should, because he was telling the goddamn truth for once. “Probably a good thirty percent of the total population. But nearer fifty, even sixty percent in certain towns. Because the government is also using that rebellion as the perfect testing ground for some new lab grown diseases of theirs. With Tsuru maintaining their blockade, there’s no medical assistance in or out either. No one to tell on them of how unnatural that contagion really is.”
“Then how would you know?” You were still trying to hope he could be wrong.
And there he did grin again, smugly as his legs spread a little once more beneath the table.
“Lover, have you already forgotten what exactly it is I do for a living? I’m not just your personal cock toy…though I am enjoying the benefits of that new role.”
“Then is Tsuru okay…is my crew okay?”
Oh how sad. Like a puppy missing its littermates. “Of course she’s fine. The government didn’t allow the marines to enter any of the diseased towns either. They’ve got Cipher Pol quarantining those. Your little troop has been spending all their time stopping blockade runners and sniping the surviving rebels in the mountains.”
But he saw the way you still didn’t look satisfied. “Why didn’t she tell me…she never said it was that bad.”
“You know how she is. She probably thought you had enough on your plate. Namely…me.” He smiled again.
“I should be with them.” And it was like you were talking to yourself then. The new guilt in your expression was obvious.
But finally here, he did feel that bit of irritation trying to start in him again. Yes, he knew how attached you must still be to your crew. Tsuru had saved you. No different than him pulling Baby 5, Monet, and Sugar from poverty and what would have only been a life of sexual abuse mixed with the constant threat of starvation for those girls otherwise.
And had never touched them. He would never dream of it in that context. They were family.
He could do these things to you though, because he’d seen you as a potential mate even from first sight.
They were like little sisters to him. But you were not. Even if he may tease you as such, with Tsuru as the common maternal thread between you.
“They’re fine without you.” He said carefully. Actually trying not to let his jealousy fully burst out. He didn’t want this good mood ended already. “I need you here.”
And it was intentional, the way he moved with his long arm easily reaching out for his hand to close over yours on top of the table.
“Like I said, we can help Tsuru-san here by being a good distraction. So she doesn’t have to deal with public accusations of mass murder that she has zero control over. I know she’s still been letting some medicine and food get through in secret anyway. She’s doing the best she can while still playing by the government’s rules on the surface. That woman is incorruptible. As always.”
And you still looked sad. Annoying to him really when he was right here in front of you, giving you his full attention this way. He wanted your mind on this feeling between the two of you instead, thinking of him alone.
“(Y/N).” He said, relaxing his eyes as best he could. Emoting as best he could to regain your focus. “I need you.” He reiterated, even more intentional this time. Even more heartfelt he supposed it would be called. A skill that could be practiced and honed like any other tool in his manipulations of course. “This is your home now. With me.”
——————————
Your hands were in the pockets of your marine coat, intentionally so he could not hold either of them as your boot heels clicked on the stone streets.
What were you supposed to do? Doflamingo would have pulled you out here on his strings anyway if you hadn’t come willingly.
He wouldn’t have allowed their group to be humiliated by a no show when Diamante had already promised the public an appearance from you both this afternoon.
But you still didn’t buy any of his shit about this being a performance for Tsuru’s sake. Though you were now worrying for her and your crew still as you did your best to keep a neutral expression.
The Donquixote foot soldiers were keeping the curious onlookers at bay as you walked with Doflamingo towards the Corrida Colosseum.
Reporters had remained on the island, hoping for this very thing as cameras now flashed again and questions were yelled out to you both here and there.
For now the warlord was ignoring them though. Those red sunglasses rarely looked away from you.
“You know it’s a bit insulting for you to still be wearing that weapon when we’re out together.” Doflamingo said then, but that amusement so clear in his tone. “I’m all the weapon you need you know…”
Unless the civilians were excellent lip readers, they wouldn’t know what kind of small talk was really occurring here in the other noise of the crowd. And you were still so cognizant of everything you did with your own body language as you kept your eyes on the street ahead and where you were walking.
“If I’d had my weapon on in Scylla I wouldn’t have to still be dealing with this failed amputation.” You replied dryly. That swordsman never would have been so lucky if you just could have disarmed him with a haki infused rope and strangled him until he confessed who he was really working for.
“You left my side that night, darling. That was your own fault.” Doflamingo still chided though. Followed with a taunting, “But you’re barely limping today. Perhaps they won’t even notice with your legs covered this way. Does it still ache?”
You had chosen to wear leggings beneath your skirt this time. Covering the wound and all those bruises. “It hurts like fuck, you ass.” You said lowly.
And he almost cackled at the abruptness of that.
So much so that you finally did look up at him in mild surprise.
“Didn’t Tsuru ever try to wash out that filthy mouth?” He practically cooed afterward.
Only then as you saw some young women giggling and blushing in your peripheral vision did you realize that to everyone else’s eyes this must look like real flirting, like familiarity already.
His attention was so clearly on you, the tall man walking fully at your side to better interact. Not even in front of you this time to lead. And him then laughing and smiling as if you’d said something endearing.
Prince charming is who they somehow still thought he was, a fairytale come to life right before their eyes. They had no understanding of what lay behind it at all.
But you couldn’t judge their ignorance. Not when you knew so much more and were still right here beside him.
This very same man that had shown you the edge of death yesterday. And the same man you’d willingly climbed on top of this morning to briefly ride the cock of as he screamed out your name.
What a cursed pair the two of you were.
And he actually looked happy about it, proud even.
This bastard was out here living his best life while you were trying not to have another breakdown.
Yes, what a complete shitshow this really was.
———————————
There had been lines all the way down the street just for admittance today. And it was even more of a madhouse once they’d gotten inside. This former gladiator knew the corridors well here however, holding the young girl’s hand firmly as he hopped at her side.
“Please stay close. Keep your face covered.” He reminded her yet again as he saw her getting distracted in all the spectacle.
“It’s hot, and I don’t like this on my face.” She still complained though, looking back down at him with her small voice almost lost in all the boisterous conversations around them.
“We’re only staying long enough to see what all this fuss is about. Then we’ll be going home.” Home being only the latest abandoned hovel that no one would search for her in. He hadn’t been able to convince Rebecca to stay there today while he made this rarer trip to the city.
But, it also hadn’t taken much of her arguing with him either really. The little tin soldier was still afraid to leave his young daughter alone out there in the countryside for long.
The girl who didn’t even know she had a father any longer while he kept tightly with her on their way to the public seating.
The sheer number of people here made her being recognized rather unlikely. But it was always a risk. So he’d made her tie a scarf around her face. Just below her wide and anxious eyes as inconsiderate adults bumped her this way and that in the crowd.
Kyros had to restrain himself not to say anything on her behalf. Knowing a normal toy would never make such a spectacle against humans.
He needed to remain focused as well. All the top members of the Donquixote family were now in attendance.
His contact from the Tontattas had confirmed this. Even as the dwarves had been equally excitable with the fact that they had indeed still seen you alive this morning.
Details of yesterday had been rather spotty with the dwarves intense fear of Doflamingo making them rather unwilling to visit the palace for long. And certainly never letting themselves become trapped in the same room with him.
But Kyros understood there had been some sort of fight yesterday. That you had stood up to Trebol to break his nose even. A wound that executive still had bandaged today in fact.
It was truly unheard of.
So of course the dwarves and their optimistic hearts were already whispering of miracles.
They said Doflamingo had spared you out of affection.
Everything was always face value to them until brutally proven otherwise.
But Kyros had been in the throne room that first night of the invasion. He’d seen the truly pleasured smile on that animal’s face as King Riku had kneeled broken before him. While the former king had begged before that monster for mercy that Dressrosa would never see.
The little tin soldier could not fathom any love ever existing within such a wicked man.
Doflamingo was but a conqueror thirsting for more every moment, every second. More power, more control, more blood, and more suffering.
He was a beast that must be slayed for any of them to ever know freedom again.
So Kyros had come to witness this new lie with his own metal eyes. Because the Tontattas were surely misconstruing it somehow.
They thought you must have some special power over even Doflamingo’s missing heart. They wanted to believe in you so badly.
They hoped that a kind queen may soon rise to free them.
But Kyros had begged them to wait, to not make contact with you yet.
Even if you had wished to help them, it didn’t mean that you could. It could be only another elaborate trap, you but another puppet on that demon’s strings.
And the Tontattas weren’t alone in their immediate emotional investment in you either. That was clear in the excitement of the crowd as the tin soldier and Rebecca finally found an empty space they could cram into between other spectators.
Like every other toy now in this stadium though, the war for this country had never ended for Kyros. His anguish and hatred were still the only real feelings he could muster as the humans beside him cheered when their king did finally appear. A blond devil grinning wide within the royal viewing box.
The very root of all that was wrong with their home. Their captor and tormentor, now with you at his side.
—————————
Diamante had truly outdone himself today. It was perfect really. Only even furthering Doflamingo’s excellent mood as he heard the crowd now cheering his name.
He reached out, his fingers catching briefly over your hip as he guided you to sit beside him in the open air box.
You tensed at even that small of a touch though. You were still wishing to remain so proper in public.
That time was about to be ending though. And he already was broadcasting that to anyone paying attention. Which was everyone of course as he extended his long arm over the stone seat back just behind you once you had sat at his side.
Gatz’s voice was already loud over the stadium’s speakers, welcoming the crowd to this afternoon of special exhibition matches put on by request of his majesty who was now gracing them with his rare presence.
Because it really had been a while since he’d been to the colosseum in person. He’d been too busy with his responsibilities as Joker, too busy with chasing you.
But now you were here and so was he. And you’d just noticed the large projection screen. Normally meant to showcase the highlights of the battles below to the crowd. But those visual transponder snails were focused on the royal booth in this moment to the people’s further delight as you quickly looked away.
“Don’t be so cold.” Doflamingo spoke to you with that continued amusement. “You’re still representing your precious marines here too you know. Don’t you care about this island’s citizens? They’re dying to get a chance to catch your eye…”
Quite literally perhaps.
On Doflamingo’s orders, Diamante had already let his prisoner gladiators know of today’s special rules.
With you as his official guest, whichever fighter was judged as performing the best in the matches to come would earn the unheard of right of a full pardon. Not that unattainable thousand match bullshit that Diamante normally tortured them with.
But that pardon would come from none other than you. Just for today, Doflamingo would be granting you that authority, though you didn’t know it yet.
He wanted them to love you. He couldn’t show much mercy, even when used as a tactic with ulterior motives. Because he had to maintain full control here. But you could. You could be the facade of the softer hand when he needed one.
Doflamingo could have you secure the trust of even the ones that already knew enough to fear him. And you could help him weed out more of the traitors then when they’d inevitably come to you for help.
He was smiling, you making his life better in every way in this moment as he got comfortable. Legs spread again, his knee against yours as one of the servants brought the first tray of drinks by.
And he knew there was a diamond ring in his pocket as well. The one he’d picked out from the jeweler’s tray Monet and Sugar had presented him with earlier today when he’d told you he had a few things to take care of before getting ready to come here.
By this time tomorrow every piece of trash that had ever tried to cross him would be seeing a picture of that ring on your hand in the newspaper.
It was a fucking beautiful day to be king. A beautiful day to have everything back under his control, including you.

You Remind Me
Shanks and Vivican OOC and Luffy
Support me on Ko-Fi
Also obviously not Canon but fun to think about!
No Warnings
Shanks stood in the hallway as he leaned next to Vivian's bedroom- it had been only a week since she had moved in with him on the ship. She had been polite but very quiet, meeting all of the crew however she had spent most of the time in her bedroom hiding. At night Shanks knew she was crying- he left like a worthless father truly... taking a breath he worked up some courage.
"Hey Vivian?..." He said softly and knocked on the door gently, waiting for a second before opening the door and looking inside. Seeing Vivian sitting on the bed reading through one of her mother's book clearly in a daze it seemed. His movement snapping her from her thoughts as she gaze a light lipped smile at him.
"Hey Vi- Uh we are heading to shore soon to meet up with someone I'd really like you to meet" He asked, She nodded softly at this and set the book aside. Shanks sighed at this and walked over taking a seat next to her on the bed, shifting a bit as he turned to look at hia daughter.
"I know this has been tough for you Vivian and I'm sorry... I-I want to make this a gold envirment for you but I understand if you want to be alone for a while.. but just know I'm here for you whenever you need it" He said softly, watching how Vivians eyes began to water as he said this, she nodded as tears rolled down her cheeks. He wrapped his arm around her as she leaned into him and silently cried.
"I'm sorry my dear..." He whispered, knowing that there were no words to bring you back to them but he would make sure your legacy lived on happily.
A few hours later the crew landed on the small island and started to dispurse to either the pub or getting supplies for the Ship. Vi being quiet the whole time as she followed Shanks out to the markets so she could pick things she liked and he giving her some Berries to spend for herself.
Walking off to a food cart she decided to get some meat on the done for herself and smiled as the vendor handed her the large treat.
"Good choice that's my favorite!" A cheerful voice sounded next to her, looking up to see a lengthy teen holding 3 in his own hands. She giggled since he looked so odd to her paired with the Strawhat on his dark locs.
"It's my favorite too, But I couldn't eat three of them" She said with a cheerful smile as she pointed to the ones in his hand. He laughed at this clearly amused by her words- However he paused and cooked his head to the side.
The teen squinted at her in confusion stared at Vivian, kneeling down and squinting his eyes as he stared at the little girl- Who looked at him in confusion and a bit intimidated by the stranger now way too close and stating at her funny.
"You remind me of someone-" He hummed squinting his gaze further. Tapping his chin as he stared hard at Vivian who was looking at the weird teen in question.
Shanks turned the corner trying to see where his daughter had wondered off to- Before he smiled brightly at the sight before him.
"Do my eye deceive me! Luffy!" Shanks laughed as he pushed the hat onto the teens head further with a laugh, Luffy looking up at Shanks with a wide smile.
"Shanks!" He yelled out with a laugh, Hugging his mentor who stumbled back and patted his back calmly.
"Luffy! Look at you" He said with a proud laugh as Luffy pulled back with a happy grin, Vivian staring at the duo with a raised eyebrow.
"This here is my daughter Luffy. Vivian this is Luffy! He's essentyally like your older brother" He said with a wide smile proudly showing off Vivian who shyly smiled and waved at Luffy.
"It's nice to meet ya Vivian!!" He said cheerfully ruffling her red locs which made her giggle.
"You know you're set up to see such amazing adventures Vivian with one of the best crews out there! Just wait- Shanks has had crazy adventures hell I've fought Fishpeople in a amusement park, Saved villages, Beat marine bases and met with pirates that are things of legend. Youre adventures are just starting" Luffy said with a grin, clearly good with kids and making them smile.
"Wait you really did that?" She said amazed, smiling as Luffy who nodded.
"Of course! I'm going to be King of the Pirates!" He said cheerfully which made her eyes widen at that. Shanks chuckled at this and placed a hand on Vi's head gently.
"Pretty amazing right?" He said with a chuckle as she nodded enthusiastically, Shanks noticing how much more cheerful she was while talking to Luffy.
After some talk between them all and Luffy updating Shanks proudly on his life the Older pirate felt the need for a beer starting to peek. Patting Luffy on the shoulder proudly.
"Im proud of the man youve grown into Luffy, We will need to depart and we are going to go to the market to finish getting supplies" Shanks said calmly, Vivian pulling on his sleeve nervously.
"Uh Dad? Can I hang out with Luffy today? I wanna hear more about his adventures!" She said cheerfully with a new sparkle in her eye.
Shanks had seen that sparkle before- That wash of inspiration that had bloomed in his eyes, in Luffy's eyes and now his Daughters.
Truthfully he didn't know if he should be proud or really frightened at how interested she was in being a pirate now.
"Well alright I suppose, Just remember we are heading out tommorow morning Vi" He said with a smile, She nodded excitedly at this and went with Luffy who had already started to talk her ear off and the two ran off. Shanks standing there with a small smile on his face, and a but of worry to his heart.
Vivian spent the whole day talking with Luffy's crew, Meeting every single one of them and exploring the ship. A bright smile on her lips that reminded him of you, the way she giggled and her growing excitement at every turn.
Luffy took on a older brother roll, even picking her up and running around with her like the ADHD kid he was as- entrusting her to even wear his straw hat which she wore with pride and care as they roamed around all day.
After Sanji had cooked a large seafood pasta dish for the crew and guest she ended up falling asleep soundly. Luffy carrying Vivian out back to Shanks ship who was holding his crew getting the last of the supplies they would need. Chuckling at the sight of Luffy carrying his daughter wearing his old hat.
"Looks like quite the adventure" Shanks said amused, Luffy giggling as he carefully took his hat off Vivian who didn't even stir from her sleep and transferring her to Shanks.
"Yeah, We had a lot of fun today! Honestly she is a natural. Took up to navigation with Nami and all of that" Luffy said with a laugh clearly prideful in having spent the day with Vivian. Shanks smiled at this as he told Luffy to hang back while he put Vivian to bed.
When Shanks returned from tucking Vivian in bed he went back to meet Luffy, seeing the young man leaned against the railings staring out fondly.
"Shes going to be great, I can already see it" Luffy said with a chuckle, messing with the ties of the hat calmly as he thought fondly- Shanks chuckling at this and nodded in agreement.
"I can see it, you really inspired her Luffy and brought her some happiness" He praised, earning a big goofy smile from him.
"You know when I become Pirate King, I did swear to return the hat to you. But who knows! Maybe it will go to the next red head" Luffy said with a joking laugh, Shanks rolling his eyes as he shoved the hat further down on the lads head making him laugh again.
"Maybe it will, Maybe it will.."

Modern!Space Marine AU
Blame @pluvio-tea because I've been reading her interpretations of what Titus and the gang would be doing in the modern day and I got enough people encouraging me... so...
@bispecsual @egrets-not-regrets @moodymisty @bleedingichorhearts @liar-anubiass-blog
@thevoidscreams @barn-anon @gallifreyianrosearkytiorsusan @squishyowl @ms--lobotomy
@nekotaetae @sleepyfan-blog @remembrancer-of-heresy @felinisnoctis @solspina
@the-californicationist
lets begin
Note: a lot of them will be ex military though in honesty you could make them all ex military just if I mention they are ex military its more so they are a recent ex military
The Dark Angel; Azazel: In a modern setting I see him as still being active military but now behind a desk and more so working for the Intelligence community and interrogations but he tells people that he still does work as a military therapist which isn't exactly a lie. The excitable young woman that works with him is a nice distraction...
The Emperor's Children; Palion: Is a Tailor and a Costume Designer he loves to make fancy outfits that glitter in the light and is inspired by a tragic Muse...
The Iron Warrior; Harram: Military Contractor (still very much as a Dad bod in this universe) with a focus on construction so like infrastructure and building. He's recently moved and there is a nice widow right new door...
The White Scar; Nogai: Racing (he's a white scar) with a focus on motocross on both bikes and ATVs. However he also likes to do rally races with his navigator Honey... he may or might not enjoy the steadfast and commanding tone she takes when she’s in the co-driver seat and in the zone as they race a little too much...
The Space Wolf; Arkyn: Another Ex military (given that he was a captain) so at the moment he is learning how to transition back to being a civvie but he's recently learned he enjoys helping at the local wildlife rehabilitation center. The other retired military woman who works there helps sooth his wild soul...
The Imperial Fist; Astel: Black market Doctor and Chemist operating without a license. He makes house calls and is good for what he does but sometimes he likes to take on cases "out of the goodness of his heart" for way less money... such cute little mouse for him to work on...
The Night Lords; Ghosk: Actor but not just any actor he is a monster actor; aka the guy who is in full prosthetics moving like a cryptid even if he's under like 20 pounds of makeup and props and prosthetics. When he's not assigned to a movie role he likes to be a scare actor at one of those parks where he can touch the attendants... he likes watching the rabbits run...
Anrir: he is in the nitty gritty and dirty business of Organ Transplants like proper handling (just don't ask where he got those 30 kidneys)
The Blood Angel; Sirus: He is someone's Art muse. He get's so much money and time to make his pottery. He also is good at making memorial pieces like incorporating human ashes into a piece... that's because for his grand pieces he's already doing that. Sirus is also a Serial Killer with a pinch of cannibalism, he incorporates blood into the hues... human ash mixes nicely with his clay. He's hoping to ask his Moonlight muse for a photoshoot soon...
The Iron Hand; Marlos Vauth: Software Engineer. He focuses on programming for prosthetics but he's been moonlighting as a hacker as well and getting rather good at it. He's been bothering the IT girl recently...
The World Eater; Zul: Retired. He heavily insists that he is retired but he's still jacked and simply says he made smart investments so his money makes money. But how can he be retired he's young (40s) and scarred to hell and back. But he will get aggressive if you keep asking questions. He can often be found with a sickly young woman on his arm too...
The Ultramarine; Tulio: He is a high salaried investor who could retire if he wanted but he just hasn't done so yet... He has to make sure that the new girl is going to be fine...
The Death Guard; Solos: Unemployed. He is the guy in town who you never see at the same job twice and never for very long, yet he somehow has money all the time. His spats with his lady are legendary as they seem to break up and get back together all the time, even if she could do so much better than Solos, but people who intervene with his love life have a habit of going "missing" and Solos always has an alibi...
The Thousand Son; Nakht: He is a professor that deals with historical documentation as well as document repair. Though a few people have noticed that a lot of what he deals with is occult materials given how his main field of study has nothing to do at all with esoteric occultism...
The Black Legion; Zhur: Professional Dom... he's got his eyes on a particular client but he's got to pay the bills and his baritone voice can easily get anyone to obey him.
The Word Bearer; Jihias: Preacher (is anyone surprised?) well in fact the Preacher bit is a ruse as he is in fact a full blown cult leader. Such passion and fervor his preaching tend to be but if you think more and more of what he says... and by the time you realize the grotesque nature of his preaches get it's far too late... the shepherd loves you and wont ever abandon you...
The Salamander; Nubin: Master Blacksmith. Run's his own shop and also does free classes for the high school when they cut their shop classes so he just offered free courses and is trying to get some deal for the time spent in the shop to count towards credit hours.
The Raven Guards; Sor, Kazi, and Moremo: Private security guards though they have come under scrutiny for getting rather close to their latest client
The Alpha Legion; Omegon: Lawyer and a damn good one as some people say he hires professional investigators to look over a scene again he's never really lost a case.
The Black Templars; Roland: Retired Military and does stuff with guns either selling them, helping people train with them, also runs a Youtube Channel with Backerin called "Guns & Buns" which has their own niche because it will be Roland helping out with his wife's bakery/a slight vlog showing off his journey with retirement
Arnault: Retired Military turned erotica writer/author. Started writing when he was bored out of his mind during a recovery and found out he enjoys writing erotica.
The Carcharodon; Tyberos: Mafioso. (Rather he is either the head of the Carcharodons or an enforcer) but right now he's helping run a front which is a coffee shop but it's become a nice little community get together since it has decent food and good coffee and its great for people trying to sell stuff

The Daughter's Return: Month 3
Jinx
Part One | Next Chapter | Table of Contents | Read on AO3
CW: Adorable fluff, Ace being an idiot <3 Characters: female reader x Portgas D. Ace Word Count: 1.7k
“Division Two is on shopping duty today,” your father said, passing the list and the money to Ace.
You quickly took it out of his hand. Ace had a tendency to lose things at an alarming speed.
It looked like an ordinary shopping list. Nothing special. But you knew you were going to an island with a Naval Base on it, which made you nervous about being out in public. Ace didn’t exactly hide his affiliation.
“You’re putting on a shirt today,” you mumbled, tucking the list into your pocket. “No repeat of-”
“The Navy Ball,” Ace finished along with you. He flashed you a grin. “Jinx.”
You rolled your eyes, trying to suppress a laugh at his attempt to get you to smile. He really was cute sometimes. Not that you’d ever admit it.
You both got dressed in your shared room, trying your best to wear an inconspicuous outfit. Ace grumbled as you handed him a button-up, but you paired it with a quick kiss to lighten his mood.
“Can I get another one?” he asked, puckering his lips out in anticipation.
“If this goes smoothly, you can have as many kisses as you want.”
You paused, realizing what you just said. “Gonna regret that,” you grumbled.
“Gonna regret that,” Ace said at the same time, much more enthusiastically. “Jinx!”
“Yeah, yeah. Let’s go.” You took his hand, double-checked to ensure you had the shopping list and the money, and the two of you set off to the market.
You almost felt normal here, the two of you browsing the market with hundreds of other people. You were both dressed nice enough for the vendors to respect you, but casual enough to blend in with everyone else on the island. It was nice not being somebody.
“What are you thinking about?” Ace asked, browsing the fruit at a stand. “You look like you’re far away.”
“Quite the opposite,” you chuckled, giving his hand a squeeze. “Just thinking about how nice all of this is. It’s very…”
“Simple,” he said along with you, grinning at his correct guess. “Jinx.”
You laughed, bumping into his shoulder playfully. You loved these soft moments, when time moved a little bit slower and the two of you got to explore something new together.
It was around lunchtime when the two of you finished shopping, and you opted to grab food before heading back to the ship.
Ace hummed, trying to decide what he was hungry for. “I think…”
“Burgers?” you asked, guessing at the same time he said the same word. You grinned, suddenly understanding his giddiness in the past. “Jinx!”
He laughed, giving you a soft kiss on the cheek, and the two of you walked hand in hand to a little burger stand. You ordered, got your burgers and fries, and sat down to begin eating together.
“Ketchup!” Ace said, jumping out of his seat. “Be right back!”
He was gone for a few minutes, which worried you, but he finally came back.
There was only one problem. He came back without a shirt on.
“Ace.” You were trying your best to keep your voice even. “Where’s your shirt?”
“Ditched it,” Ace said, shoving some fries into his mouth. “The ketchup dispenser exploded and got all over the shirt. Why?”
“Ace-”
“The tattoos,” you both said at the same time, his widened eyes in realization as you glared at him.
“Jinx,” he mumbled, a playful smile on his lips. “It’s fine! People probably haven’t even-”
“There!” A voice shouted, and you looked past him to see a group of Marines heading your way.
“Shit,” you both said, jumping out of your seats.
“J-”
“Don’t even,” you hissed, grabbing the bags and bolting down the street. You could feel Ace quick on your heels, keeping up with you at every weave and turn. You knew he was fast. You knew he could keep up.
You finally ducked into a small alleyway, trying to gather your bearings and come up with a plan on how to get back to the ship. But your thought process was interrupted by a strange rattling coming from further down the tiny street. The two of you momentarily abandoned your escape attempt, intrigued by the sound.
“What is that?” you both asked at the same time, peering down the alleyway.
“Jinx,” Ace muttered. You smacked his head in response, but the two of you continued to creep down the alley, peering around and looking for the noise. Your eyes landed on a box that was moving. Something alive was clearly inside.
The box itself wasn’t special. It looked like a normal crate, except that there was a piece of rope tying the lid shut. Ace quickly lit a flame and burned the rope, his curiosity getting the best of him.
“Ace,” you warned. “Don’t-”
But it was too late. He opened the box a fraction of an inch, peeking inside.
You couldn’t see what it was, but Ace’s face softened into a smile.
“Hey little guy,” he whispered, his arm reaching down inside the box. “What are you doing in here?”
When his hand reemerged, he was holding a small black kitten. It couldn’t be more than a few weeks old, and its ribs were visible through its black fur.
“It’s okay buddy,” Ace cooed, holding the kitten against his chest. “You’re safe now.”
Almost as if it understood Ace, it began loudly purring and nuzzling against his bare chest.
Ace grinned at you. “He likes me!”
“No.” You knew where this was going. The two of you had a small enough room as it was. You were not sharing it with a kitten as well.
“Aw, come on! Look at this cute face!” Ace held the kitten up against his cheek, giving you his best pleading eyes. You had to admit, the cat’s fur seemed to match Ace’s eyes perfectly. And you two coming down this alleyway unexpectedly just to find it at the right time, it’s almost like it was fate.
“I think they went this way!” The shout came from behind you, and Ace immediately dropped the act. He grabbed your wrist and pulled you behind the crates, still holding the cat tight in his hand.
“Check the alleys!” you heard a commander shout, and your heart sank. You had gotten yourself distracted and cornered. Distractions always meant death.
You could hear the stomping of boots getting closer and closer. They were almost to you. You were going to have to fight your way out. You and Ace were both long-ranged fighters who thrived in open spaces. It would surely get messy in this cramped alleyway
Suddenly, the cat leaped from Ace’s arm and began letting out low, threatening growls and hisses in the direction of the Navy officers. It was clear the cat was marking its territory, warning the intruders if they came any closer, it would attack.
“What the fuck?!” One of them said, backing up a bit.
“Probably rabid,” the other replied. “Just leave it. We’ve checked far enough.”
They retreated back down the alley the way they came, unaware of you and Ace behind the crates.
“You saved us!” Ace’s voice was filled with joy, and he opened his arms to welcome the cat back.
Its demeanor instantly changed as it turned back to you and Ace, and it sauntered back to its new owner, twirling around Ace’s hand as he rubbed its fur.
Ace looked back at you, silently begging. The cat seemed to watch you too, its amber eyes staring at you, trying to decide if you were friend or foe.
“You don’t even know what you’re going to call it.” It was the only argument you could come up with.
“I’ll call it Jinx!” Ace said, picking up the cat once again. “It’s perfect, don’t you think? Plus he seems to be totally healthy, and he’s protective!”
You groaned, knowing you were going to regret this decision. But the name was cute. Ace was good at knowing how to hit your soft spots. “Fine. Jinx can come.”
“Did you hear that, buddy? You can stay!” Ace cried, holding Jinx up in the air. “Oh! Jinx is a girl!”
“Great,” you said unenthusiastically. You couldn’t say you were thrilled about the idea of another roommate. Even if she was adorable.
The two of you took alleyways and rooftops back to the ship, avoiding large crowds and moving as quietly as you could. You didn’t relax again until you were back on the ship, safe under your father’s flag.
You dropped off the groceries to Thatch, and he made a small nutritious meal for Jinx, which you took back to Ace’s room.
Ace watched Jinx carefully as she ate, making sure she didn’t choke. You chose to watch Ace instead, amused by his kindhearted demeanor toward a cat he just met. He was grinning the entire time, totally transfixed on his new pet as she ate her tuna and rice meal. It wasn’t until Jinx finally finished and was curled up on the rug that Ace came over and sat on the bed with you.
“So, can I get those kisses now?” Ace said, leaning in.
You pushed him away. “Go kiss Jinx, since you wanted her so badly.”
“Ah, come on, don’t be like that!” Ace wrapped his arms around you and flopped onto his pillow, pulling you down to lay with him.
You giggled as you fell, giving him plenty of small kisses as the two of you laid down. You both lay there, exchanging rounds of little kisses across one another’s faces. The kisses got slower and less frequent, the two of you eventually opting to lay intertwined, nose to nose. It had been a long day, and you were exhausted.
At some point, you must’ve fallen asleep. And now you had been woken up by…something. You were just about to wake Ace up when it happened again. A paw pad smacked you in the face. Once, then twice, then three times.
Jinx sat between you and Ace, guarding him fiercely. And it appeared that you were in their space.
“Stop it,” you whispered, but Jinx hissed right back in response. She smacked your face again, indicating you were far too close to her and her owner.
Oh, you had made a terrible decision letting her come aboard. A terrible decision indeed.

20: Instinct
art by @exorbitantsqueakingnoises
you're the primary caretaker of a lorleian child who was raised in captivity. to help her learn how to survive in the wild, you've had to enlist the help of an adult lorleian with extremely territorial streak.
->original work. explicit; contains dub-con, mentions of child neglect/abuse, graphic descriptions of violence, murder, breeding kink and dirty talk, tentacles, terato, mentions of hard vore/cannibalism.
.
.
.
It’s a two hour drive from the Marine Life Rescue Center to the particular stretch of beach where Awimi has her rewilding lessons. The journey requires preparation: a custom child’s car seat, upholstered with soft absorbent padding that maintains moisture. A barrel of saltwater solution with an attached spritzing nozzle that dispenses in five-minute intervals. An array of increasingly complex plastic puzzle boxes, central chambers stuffed with shrimp and minnows. The van smells like a fish market but you only notice for the first ten minutes. You take a snaking coastal highway, the windows rolled down to let in the sea breeze, the scent of brine and the squawks of gulls.
“I’m hungry,” she complains. You can hear the squeal and creak of plastic coming from the backseat, and the sounds of her suckers popping off of things.
“You’re going to eat so many fish in just a little bit,” you assure her.
“Want fish now.”
“There’s fish in your box.”
“Want better fish,” she insists. One of her tentacles scoots down the side of your seat, playing with your seatbelt. “Fish that move.”
“Soon,” you promise. “I bet Ishi’s saving all the best ones for you.”
She pouts. “He better.”
You glance at the mirror frequently to make sure she hasn’t unbuckled her seatbelt and started sliding around. So far so good. She’s hard at work on one of the puzzle boxes, her enormous eyes and squiggling pupils trained intently on a stubborn sliding mechanism that she keeps prodding and picking at. It’s no wonder she’s so hungry with how big she’s gotten. Her tentacles used to dangle off the edge of the car seat without touching the floor and her hair-like head tendrils were just short, wiggling nubs.
Malnutrition and time spent in a cramped enclosure have impacted her growth and she’ll probably never be as large as an average adult of her subspecies, but she might get to be your size, at least. You’d worry a lot more if you weren’t certain she won’t be facing the open ocean alone.
“What are you most excited about today?” you ask her.
“The reef!” she says. Bored of the puzzle box, she passes it from her hands to her tentacles. They keep working on it even as her attention wanders to the rolling waves outside. “It’s pretty! And the water is good! And there’s lots of fish, and shells. Ishi is really good at shells. They should be easy to open but they’re not. You have to be really strong. Ishi is the strongest.”
“He is,” you agree. “But I bet you’ll grow up to be really strong, too. You’re already stronger than me.”
“Really?” She sounds suspicious.
“Yep. You remember that sardine jar I gave you last night?”
“Tasty,” she says.
“I’m not supposed to give you the whole jar,” you admit. “But I couldn’t get it open.”
Awimi grins. Her teeth are like rows of spikes.
There’s always a moment of tense, solemn silence when you pass beneath a rocky cliff with a view of the water. There’s an exit lane snaking up a steep hill to a sprawling, empty parking lot. The words “SEA SAFARI” are no longer mounted atop the decrepit ticket gates but their ghost remains in faded paint stains. You only saw the place once, and only in the midst of it being gutted and drained following a series of ruinous lawsuits. Awimi had crammed herself into the corner of a completely bare and featureless enclosure. She was clearly sick, her tentacles pale pink like raw clam when they should’ve been maroon speckled with white spots. Her chromatophors sparkled a warning when you waded in. She bit your hand when you offered her food and wrapped her tentacles all around your arm, suckers pulling harshly at your skin.
When you didn’t do anything—didn’t move, didn’t yell, didn’t try to hit her—she blinked her large eyes, banded like colorful marbles, and her suckers loosened. She was so small and weighed so little that you could lift her up and carry her in your arms, her tentacles winding around you like the straps of a harness. The Rescue Center had brought a tank to transport her but she wouldn’t get in. You spent the entire ride back with her clinging to your chest, misting her with a spray bottle while she tried to camouflage herself with the colors of your shirt.
“No more bad place,” Awimi says quietly.
“No more,” you promise her. The property’s already been sold as part of Sea Safari’s liquidation. They’re going to build a new shopping center aimed at summer tourists. “No one is allowed to catch you and put you in a little tank anymore.”
“What if they try?” she asks.
“Then we’ll stop them. So will Ishi. You know how strong he is.” More accurately, he’d kill them. He’d do it for a lot less. “Almost there,” you say. Awimi flicks her tentacles impatiently. You hear the snap of the puzzle box opening and then the crunch of shrimp.
Your destination is a shingle beach. Rocky, far from anything and bearing a horrific reputation of drownings and disappearances, it’s a quiet place that’s made for the perfect meeting spot. You park at the top of a steep, dirt hill and strip down to your wetsuit. Awimi is out of the van the moment you open her door, flinging off her seatbelt and oozing out in a flurry of excited movement. She’s a bit floppy on land but she’s perfectly capable of getting where she needs to go. She’s snuck out of her enclosures at the Rescue Center more times than you can count to grab a midnight snack from the freezer down the hall, the only evidence of her brief adventure a trail of puddles on the floor.
“Let’s go! Let’s go!” she says, suckers pulling at your ankle. You check your scuba gear one more time before you follow her down the bumpy slope. “Ishi’s here! Ishi!”
That’s unusual, you think. Usually he waits at the cove. When you look down the beach where seafoam trickles over the rocks, your stomach clenches in fear and revulsion.
There, at the very edge of the water, you see an enormous creature perched on the rocks. It’s an adult lorleian, the same subspecies as Awimi. His head tendrils are fully grown into gelatinous strands, smoothed back from his face and plastered flat to his back and shoulders like wet locks of hair. The webbing between his fingers is thicker than Awimi’s and not quite as transparent, and his torso is covered in old scars—everything from shark bites and serrated squid tentacle scrapes to knife wounds. He’s much larger than either of you, his lower half a mass of squirming, enormous tentacles, each one long, thick, and wrapped around a man in a waterproof coat who flails like he’s fighting for his life.
“Wait here for just a second,” you tell her.
“Why?” Awimi says.
“I have to ask Ishi a grown-up question. It won’t take long, I promise.” She pouts until you grab a puzzle box from the van, and then you rush down the beach. You hear awful gurgling sounds the closer you get, muffled screams and groans of pain. The man is almost entirely engulfed in the slithering grasp of unyielding tentacles. He thrashes and wails, limbs trapped, the full weight of a lorleian pinning him face-down in the shallow water rushing over the rocks.
“Ishyr,” you say, your voice firm.
The lorleian looks up and a shiver runs down your spine at the predatory coldness in his gaze. Like Awimi, his eyes are large with swirls and speckles of fantastic color. His pupils are long and narrow like a leering glare, constricted in the harshness of surface sunlight. “Yes?” he says, sounding bored.
“Stop.”
“Mm. No.” He holds your gaze while his tentacles squeeze tighter. One of the man’s arms is wrenched behind his back at an unnatural angle and then yanked out of the socket. You hear him try to scream, shoulders trembling and heaving. “He brought a crab trap. To steal my crabs. Isn’t that illegal?”
“Yes, but you can’t—”
“Then stop me.” Ishyr hunches over his prey possessively, leering at you. “Go on,” he says. “Try it. Come a little closer.” You don’t think he’d kill you in front of Awimi but you’re not certain. There’s no safe approach. His reach is long enough in every direction to catch you before you’re close enough to do anything. He watches your frown deepen with faint amusement and makes a rumbling sound, a grating purr that sets your teeth on edge. “Mhm. That’s what I thought.” Ishyr doesn’t dislocate the other arm. He wraps a tentacle all the way down, shoulder to wrist, and squeezes. You hear a series of sharp crunches as bones snap and shatter beneath ripping skin, blood darkening the man’s sleeve.
You move in sheer desperation, lunging at Ishyr. You don’t even get within arm’s reach before he has you encircled, two tentacles wrapped around your body with a threatening, bruising grip. He drags you closer until you’re ankle deep in the rising tide, seafoam tickling your ankles.
“That wasn’t smart,” he says. “You could die. I could strangle you. Snap your neck. Hold you under until you drown. That’s always fun. I could even do this.” His claws seize the man by the hair, dragging his head out of the water so you can see his bulging, terrified eyes and the tentacle threatening to break his jaw. You can see it bulging beneath the skin of his throat as it undulates and slithers deeper but you know he’s keeping it tightly compacted. The same way you might clench your first, Awimi and Ishyr can flex their muscles and alter the thickness of their tentacles. Useful for dragging prey out of tight spaces. “I can reach all kinds of things like this,” Ishyr murmurs. “Things you really don’t want me to reach.”
“Don’t,” you beg him. “Ishyr—”
He never looks away from your horrified gaze as he unclenches his muscles. The tentacle instantly expands to its full girth and you hear several things crack and pop inside the man’s body. Blood trickles from the ripped skin at the corner of his mouth. His eyes roll back in his head and you desperately hope he’s unconscious. Ishyr lets his head drop back into the slick stones gracelessly and something else crunches unpleasantly. He smirks at you. “Today’s lesson is how to open shells. Isn’t it?” A tentacle wraps around the man’s neck and twists sharply.
Your stomach churns. Ishyr lets you go and you stumble away from him, nearly losing your footing. He calls out to Awimi in Enteroctal Lorleian, a language of melodic trills and chirps that’s almost ear-piercing on the surface without water to muffle it. Awimi slowly scoots down the beach, glancing between the two of you. “Do you have to do that in front of her?” you whisper.
“Does she look upset to you?” he asks.
She doesn’t. Nervous, yes, the way she always does when you argue, but her eyes fall to the dead man as Ishyr snags the back of his shirt with a tentacle and starts to drag him into the water. She doesn’t look afraid, or disgusted, or even confused. She looks hungry. That’s the look she gives her puzzle boxes when she can smell fresh fish inside. Her suckers lap at the blood on the rocks. It doesn’t matter that it’s human. It’s flesh, and Ishyr killed it, so it must be meant for eating.
“Can I try?” she asks shyly.
You pointedly ignore the smug look Ishyr gives you. “Yes,” he answers in Lorleian. “But you have to open it yourself. I’ll show you.”
It’s an uncomfortably long swim to Ishyr’s cove, but only for you. Awimi blossoms once she’s in the water. She unfurls her tentacles in a big, shivering stretch and then she spins and flits around with bubbles jetting behind her. You can’t hear what she says to Ishyr or what he says back. Everything is muffled to your ears, Lorleian sounding like musical warbles and grunts. But she’s smiling, laughing with high-pitched tinkling sounds like dolphin squeals, her tentacles grabbing playfully at his, and Ishyr is so gentle with her. His tentacles make little grasping curls where they touch her skin, rubbing with featherlight gentleness the same way their subspecies strokes their soft, vulnerable eggs.
In the waving green stalks of a kelp forest, Ishyr suddenly comes to a stop, lower body flared defensively. He passes the corpse to his hands and engulfs Awimi with his tentacles, hiding her completely from view. Another lorleian drifts by—big, thick with muscle, a gray back and shoulders with a white underbelly. You recognize the sharp-tipped fins of a shark knifing through the kelp. It circles you once, then twice, slightly closer. Your heart leaps into your throat when something loops around your ankle and pulls.
Ishyr drags you over with a tentacle until you’re close enough to grab with his claw, long fingers wrapped all the way around your neck. You struggle when he lowers his mouth to your neck, dagger-like teeth pricking your wetsuit. He makes a low, rumbling sound that you feel more than you hear, a vibration quivering all across your body. The other lorleian circles one more time, staring at you intently, before it sneers and swims away. Ishyr waits for some sign invisible to you before he suddenly lets you go and starts swimming again, his tentacles parting to allow Awimi to swim back out.
He keeps you close after that, you notice. He looks back to make sure you’re still following several times, gesturing impatiently with a curl of the nearest tentacle.
The next time you surface is on the sandy beach of the cove. Ishyr and Awimi stop swimming and start snaking along the ground, pulling themselves out of the water. There’s a scattering of large rock formations and tide pools with small, colorful creatures darting around, and the mouth of a sea cave up ahead. Bones litter the shore, sun-bleached and picked clean. Some animal. Some lorleian. Some human. Ishyr drags the corpse with his tentacles, leaving a soggy, blood-speckled trail up the beach. He stops to glance back over at his shoulder.
“Might want to wait out here,” he says.
You don’t argue. You can smell dead fish and decay, and you have no desire to see his food stash again. He chirrups at Awimi and she makes a similar sound back, much higher in pitch. You swear he almost smiles.
You wait in the shadow of the cave’s entrance, watching the tide roll in and wisping clouds drift by. It’s peaceful here. Nothing but the whisper of the ocean and the faraway song of seabirds. You see crabs scurry around and small fish dart back and forth. A pod of dolphins cruise by in the distance, followed by a group of sleek gray lorleians. Coves like these are common spots for lorleians to rear young, whether they’re laying eggs in shallow nooks and burrows or whelping in the sand. It’s odd that Ishyr is the only one here, using it as a place to store his extras, but maybe he wasn’t alone once.
All those months ago when he first saw you with Awimi in your arms and tears in your eyes, maybe that’s why he showed himself—sliding slowly and carefully up the beach with a pensive expression—instead of just swimming away.
Their voices echo from further in the cave. Ishyr uses a very different tone with Awimi than he does with you, evident even when he speaks Lorleian. The sounds are longer and drawling in sharp contrast to Awimi’s quick trills. Patient, you think. He goes slow and he listens intently. You also hear some truly sickening sounds—the shredding of meat, the crack of sinew, the wet slurp of soft tissues and slippery organs sliding around.
It’s easy to lose track of time. Eventually, the chatter stops and the wet noises of a body coming apart fade to silence. You risk peeking deeper inside, only to find Ishyr very carefully depositing Awimi in a tide pool. She’s fast asleep, her tentacles curling and uncurling in unconscious motions. They cling to Ishyr’s arm when he sets her down until he plucks them off with his own, the gentle grip of his suckers seeming to soothe her. Ishyr strokes her head-tendrils.
“Say something when you come in,” he mutters, keeping his voice a low, quiet hiss. “I don’t like surprises, especially here.”
“Sorry,” you whisper. He glowers at you over his shoulder. “How is she?”
“Mm. She’s doing well.” That almost sounds like pride in his voice. “Very stubborn. It’s a good thing. She doesn’t give up, even when she’s frustrated. She speaks better. Do you practice with her?”
You wish you could. You don’t have the right organs to make the noises necessary for Lorleian, but you’ve studied to understand as much as you can. “There are recordings online,” you say. “I play them, and then we both try to figure out what they’re saying.”
Ishyr sloughs towards you, tentacles squishing wetly against the stone floor. He flicks his hand towards the entrance of the cave and you follow, easily keeping pace beside him. His tentacles keep wandering over and sliding against your legs. You wonder if he even notices he’s doing it. Awimi’s the same way—her limbs all have minds of their own and sometimes grasp or smack things when she’s not paying attention, acting on their own impulses.
“Do you have young of your own?” Ishyr asks. He doesn’t look directly at you but he watches you carefully out of the corner of his eye.
“Me? No,” you say, startled by the question.
“Mm. You could.” One of his tentacles slithers up to your thigh and you almost stumble. “Very easily, you could.” Ishyr snags you by the waist this time. You’d be more frightened if you weren’t so confused. His tentacles aren’t squeezing like they usually do. They’re loose and slippery, suckers plucking at your wetsuit and caressing your body. “Take this off,” he says.
“Wh—huh?” you ask.
Ishyr cups your chin and makes you look him in the eye. “Take this off,” he repeats with a sharp smile. “Or I will rip it off of you.”
“Ishyr, what—are you—wait a second!” You pull frantically at his tentacle when one of his suckers tugs threateningly at your sleeve. “What are you doing?”
Another tentacle winds up your thigh, the tip settling directly between your legs where it starts to stroke and writhe. You completely lose your train of thought at the sensation of his suckers clinging and releasing in short bursts. It feels like a kiss, like a hot, sucking mouth trying to get at your sex through your clothes. “Is it not obvious?” he asks, claws grasping your jaw.
“It’s unexpected,” you insist. “Do you even like me? Like, in any way?”
He regards you with narrowed eyes, searching your face for deception. “I haven’t been subtle.”
This is news to you. “You threaten me every time I see you—”
“And yet you live,” he says wryly. “If I wanted you dead, you’d be dead. More bones on this beach.” A tentacle drapes over your shoulder, the suckers honing in on your nipples and teasing them, pulling gently. The more you squirm, the more you’re surrounded by grasping, groping limbs. You’re surprised when he presses his lips against yours. They’re slick and salty, sharp teeth nibbling at your lower lip. “You’re here,” he murmurs, hot breath warming your mouth. “In my cove. My territory. I’ve invited you here, over and over, and I’ve let you leave alive. Either you’re kin, or someone trusted.”
He starts tugging at your wetsuit again and you find yourself complying. This doesn’t feel real. The truth is you’ve snuck a few glances at Ishyr in the time you’ve known him and had some thoughts you’re not too proud of about his tentacles. Never in a million years did you imagine he’d be hooking his claws around the zipper of your wetsuit and tugging it down with such hunger in his eyes.
“I’ve been contending with my instincts,” he admits. “But probably not the ones you’re thinking of. There’s a part of me that wants to bite when I see you doing stretches on the beach. You expose your neck…your belly…weak spots. Very enticing.” His tentacles squeeze those spots he likes so much while he speaks, suckling at your neck and wrapping around your stomach. Your face feels hot. Was he there when you did your warm ups before getting in the water? You don’t remember seeing him. Unless he’d stayed in the water, lurking somewhere just out of sight without saying anything…
Once your zipper’s down far enough, his tentacles are all over you. They’re helping, you think, trying to peel it off, but they’re also touching, fondling, feeling like tongues and fingers and firm hands and something else all together, all at once. Ishyr doesn’t waste any time. You’ve still got one leg in the wetsuit when you feel his suckers toying with your sex. You gasp and the tip of a tentacle fills your mouth. The taste is strange and briney, the texture slightly bumpy.
“Shhhh,” he whispers. “Awimi is sleeping.” It’s infuriating how calm and collected he is, not even panting as he encloses you in constant pleasure. A tentacle rubs your sex while another toys with your entrance, the rest coiling sensually around your chest and hips and thighs, suckers sliding wetly over your skin like thousands of tongues. “Had you ever seen our young? Before her? I bet you hadn’t. We’re very solitary and the shore is too dangerous for the little ones. For us, when we see a happy, healthy hatchling swimming alongside a beautiful mother…a dedicated father…a lorleian, strong enough to rear young and protect it…” He shivers with a groan. “Mm. I would’ve mated you in the sand the day we met if we were the same species. Given the little one a sibling…or two…or more.”
He’s getting excited the more he talks about it, pulling the tentacle out of your mouth and replacing it with his tongue. The sensation of being covered in him, draped in licking, sucking kisses and caressing hands, pushes you rapidly towards climax. He must be able to tell because you hear him moan into your mouth and then everything gets harder, faster and more intense. The tentacle engulfing your sex feels like it’s pulsating, the suckling sensation making you buck your hips and whimper against Ishyr’s tongue. He wraps around you firmly, urging you to rut against him harder, to ride the wave of ecstasy as long and hard as you can.
“If I could breed you, I would,” he murmurs, nipping the corner of your mouth. He trails kisses along your jaw to your ear, curling his tongue around the lobe. “You wouldn’t leave here empty. No, you wouldn’t leave at all. You’d be so, so full, it would only be a matter of time. Mm, you’re lucky I can’t. Seeing you with my eggs might ruin me. All I’d be able to think about is breeding you again, and again, and again.”
He pulls you against his body when you come, your chest pressed to his and your hips pumping frantically in the wet, pleasurable warmth of his tentacles. You’re still catching your breath when you realize he hasn’t stopped babbling, muttering in your ear about breeding and eggs and how unbearably sexy you’d be guarding his little translucent bundles of joy. He stiffens suddenly, tentacles suddenly going rigid before his whole body relaxes and he sags against you.
“Ishyr? Ishyr!” you hiss. He’s too heavy and you both end up on the floor of the cave. He’s not bothered about it, if the way he immediately wraps around you is any indication. “Did…did you…?”
“I had to calm myself,” he mutters, his speech slightly slurred. “Can’t mate you today. We need time. You have to take Awimi back when she’s finished napping.”
“Time?” you ask, intrigued. “How much time?”
Ishyr rolls onto his side and brings you with him. You’d call it spooning if he wasn’t somehow on every side of you simultaneously, warm and comfortable. “Mm. The better part of a day, ideally.”
“A day?” you echo, incredulous. “Do lorleians really mate that long?”
Ishyr smiles. It’s wide, sharp and threatening, the same way he smiles when he casually threatens to bash your skull open against the rocks for questioning what he’s teaching Awimi. Did he think you’d realize he was kidding somehow? Was that its own strange form of flirtation? “I guess you’ll find out, won’t you?” he purrs, tracing your lips with his claw.
You meet him halfway when he leans in for another kiss. You guess you will.

I wrote this post last year, and it's been marinating in my drafts, but it's become relevant again now that Daniel is out of a seat but is still hosting an Enchanté pop-up in Austin next week.
As more and more drivers release individual non-F1 related products, I'm interested to see which drivers are able to isolate their new ventures from their F1 personality. I say this because the pool of F1 fans is finite, and the revenue is limited, particularly when all these newly released products are considered "mid-luxury" products. If you spend 200 USD on an Enchanté sweater this week, you probably won't buy a 160 USD +44 hoodie next week (unless you're a baller, in which case, let's be friends). So, the success and longevity of their products really hinges on how good and/or useful the products are to regular non-F1 people as well as if the brand and marketing can outlast their F1 careers.
For instance, are Albon Athletic sneakers unique enough to survive the saturated sneaker market without Alex, the F1 driver being attached to it? Would you choose Lec ice-cream over Ben and Jerry's or your local Gelato place? Is Neat Burger novel enough to intrigue vegans and non-vegans alike? In NYC, the answer to that last question is no because the store closed a month ago, but you get my point.
It's a dog eat dog world out there, and these products already exist. When the F1-driver hype dies down, the product has to justify it's price especially in a time period when the economy sucks and every nickel and pence counts. I'll be watching to see which products stand the test of time.

Part of the Obamitsu Soulmate AU I’m planning
“I’m Obanai by the way,” he introduced himself.
“I’m Mitsuri,” she said as she opened the bandaid wrapper. Mitsuri tried to use her left hand to place the bandaid over her right hand with little success. The bandage fell on the floor.
“Do you want help?” Obanai asked as if he had not been watching her struggle for the last minute. He unzipped the top pocket and pulled out a new band aid. Not waiting for her response, he reached for her right hand. When they touched, goosebumps appeared on her forearm. Her heart quickened as he held her hand still and put the bandaid over the webspace.
“Thanks again,” Mitsuri said as she grabbed her note cards to start quizzing her classmate.
“No problem,” Obanai said. The rest of the afternoon they reviewed Mitsuri’s meticulously crafted note cards, notes, and study guides from their previous tests.
“I’ll be here tomorrow before the midterm if you want to join me,” Mitsuri offered.
“Yes, as long as you don’t hurt yourself again,” Obanai said, glancing down at her bandaged hand.
“Deal!” ——-
Obanai was in the library before her. They went over experimental design, participant recruitment, and methodology until they had to pack their backpacks and head to Wisteria Hall.
On the way, Obanai drilled her over the bell curved graph and levels of significance. When they got to the classroom Mitsuri took the seat next to him in the back. Mr. Ubuyashiki handed out the midterm and the race began.
Obanai finished the test before her and left after throwing his pencils into his backpack’s side pocket. Mitsuri used every minute provided to reread each question and ensure she answered it completely. She was the last one to finish.
“Mitsuri,” she heard her name as soon as she exited the classroom. She turned to her left to see Obanai sitting on the floor. He stood up and strode over. “How do you think you did?”
Mitsuri felt like her brain was melting with everything she crammed into it and finishing the test. “Well, but I feel like I just ran a marathon. Do you have another class here?” She asked, wondering why he stayed.
“No, I’m done for the day. I only have this class and my 7:30 class on Thursdays,” he explained. Did he wait here for her…? Her stomach did a backflip. Don’t think too far into it. He’s being nice.
“What’s that one?” Mitsuri asked.
“Principles of biochemistry. I’m majoring in zoology,” Obanai answered.
“That’s awesome! I thought about doing marine biology for a while, but I heard the job market was pretty limited,” she said. “Not that you’ll have trouble I’m sure. You seem super smart.”
“You could say that. I want to do research,” he said. She wanted to stay and talk, but unfortunately, she couldn’t. Mitsuri pulled out her phone and handed it to Obanai.
“Can you put in your number? I have another class, but can I text you later?” Mitsuri said and smiled shyly.
“Sure,” Obanai said and typed in his number. She imagined he was smiling under the mask as she took her phone back. “Talk to you later then,” he added.
——-
Mitsuri: Hi!
Obanai: How was class?
Mitsuri: Good. It was hard paying attention after the midterm 🫠 my brain was fried
Obanai: It was stats heavy, but it was the basics. Nothing too difficult.
Mitsuri: I never took stats in high school.
Obanai: You’re a freshmen?
Mitsuri: Yes! What about you?
Obanai: Junior. That’s why I never saw you
Mitsuri: why? Were you looking for me? 😆
Obanai: Not really. I never met someone with pink hair before. It’s unique.
Mitsuri stared at her phone and felt heat under her cheeks. Her new friend could be saying it was unique or unique. One was a compliment and other was a backhanded compliment. She hoped it was the first.
Mitsuri: Thanks! Do you want to study with me again sometime?
Obanai: sure.
Mitsuri: hurray! 😋 I’ll bring snacks next time! ——
“You know you can still come out with us tonight,” Shinobu said as she bent over the bathroom sink to put on mascara. Shinobu, her older sister, and a few others were going to a house party thrown by the Uzui brothers. They were notorious for throwing the loudest and wildest parties.
Mitsuri looked down at her pajamas. Shinobu invited her to go out earlier in the week, but declined. Mitsuri hadn't slept well the past few nights. Her stomach constantly felt empty even though she ate five plates for dinner and snacked before bed. It was almost like hunger pains. A side effect of Apath.
She never starved herself. The last time had been a year ago when she attempted to go off Apath. It didn’t go well. Her soulmate was still cutting and when her wrists felt the cold winter air, she winced in pain. Maybe she needed to talk to her doctor about upping her dose. Her lips twisted. Her doctor said she nearly hit the max dose. Once she did, they would have to add as needed meds like NoAche. That medication was used for soulmates who had chronic pain like fibromyalgia or migraines. Maybe she should start thinking about going off Apath again.
“Mitsuri?” Shinobu asked and stood up straight to study her roommate.
“Oh, sorry, I think I’ll stay in,” Mitsuri said. “I need to catch up on sleep.”
“Alternatively, you could party with us. By the time you get back you’ll crash. Problem solved,” Shinobu smirked. “You’ve only been to one party. You need to live a little. Who knows maybe you’ll find your soulmate tonight?” She teased. Mitsuri rubbed her elbow. Shinobu knew she took a suppressant, so the likelihood of finding them was low.
“You know that’s not possible,” Mitsuri said. Shinobu shrugged and hugged her.
“Well, you could always find someone to entertain you. It’s not like you have to wait to meet your soulmate to hook up,” Shinobu suggested.

Zoro!Mingi
inspired by the live action one piece netflix recently did...
I've never watched the anime and I know absolutely nothing about the lore, I'm literally just going based off my obsession with mackenyu and mingi so please bear with me
thinking about Mingi as Zoro...
hear me out
pink haired, buzzcut Ming??
just green instead
iconic if I do say so
anyway
you live a simple life on a little, fairly unknown island in the East Blue
of course, you're well aware of pirates, it's impossible to live here and NOT have any exposure to them
or their drama
but nonetheless, you stay out of it
you wake up in the morning in your humble little home and go to and from work at the bar
which isn't even really a bar
more like a hang out spot for people who happen to pass by
at most, the bar has like, 10 customers, but even then, they never get too rowdy
it's a simple life, but you're grateful for the peace and quiet
and the stability
so when you wake up one fine morning, you really don't expect anything to be different today
after all, you've lived here for years, and as mundane as it sounds, every day has been the same, day in and day out
you do your morning routine, splashing some water on your face and making yourself a simple breakfast, some lightly toasted bread with butter
and a small glass of milk
you were craving some coffee, but your stash was running a little low and you were not in the mood to go to the market anytime soon to stock up
so, after getting ready and eating your breakfast, you grab your small satchel and leave the house, heading to work
you wave hello to your boss and your other coworker as you walk in, being greeted back enthusiastically by the latter
after putting on your frayed apron and tying your hair up, you walk back out and began helping your coworker wipe down some of the tables
it was a quiet day, only two lone patrons in the entire building
eventually, your boss had disappeared to some unknown area
(probably to flirt with the owner from the store next door, but that's none of your business)
you had sent your coworker on her break, despite her insistence on staying to help you out
"Unless a band of pirates or the marines show up requesting an absurd amount of liquor, I think I'll be just fine managing the two people here" you said
taking a glance at the older man who was passed out on the table with multiple bottles of beer surrounding him, you continued
"and I don't think he'll be much of a problem anyways"
sighing, your coworker relented and thanked you, taking off her apron and disappearing into the back
the sound of the wooden beads that acted as a curtain clinking together brought you out of your thoughts
"welcome in!" you called out, bending down to grab the rag you had dropped before standing back up
the first thing you noticed about the man was just how big he was
he was tall and incredibly well-proportioned
his shoulders were wide and you could easily see the muscles in his arms thanks to the almost-too-small shirt he wore
wrapped around his tiny waist was a black cloth, and hanging from there were sheaths that carried not one, but three swords
quirking a brow, you allowed your gaze to creep up the man's body and towards his face
his hair was cut short, but it was also incredibly green
he had three earrings hanging from his left ear that swayed with every shift of the man's head
the man's face was beautiful, in a somewhat terrifying way
he had plump lips and a strong, straight nose
he had high cheekbones that could probably cut through glass and his eyes were perhaps the most beautiful, yet most intimidating things you had ever seen in your life
you watched as his eyes carefully scanned the room before spotting your figure
slowly, the man made his way to the corner of the bar and pulled out the seat before sitting down
he let out a loud sigh through his nose and looked over at you
"Three beers please"
his voice was so deep, deeper than the ocean surrounding your little island
"Coming right up" you turned around, grateful for an excuse to do something so you wouldn't get caught ogling
quickly grabbing three bottles from the cooler, you popped them open before placing them in front of the man
you sent him a small smile "Let me know if I can get you anything else"
he nodded in thanks before grabbing the first bottle and tossing it back
turning back around, you busied yourself with wiping down the back of the counter, sending occasional glances towards the green-haired man
a few minutes passed of you sneaking glances towards the man before you were startled by the loud sounds of yelling
looking up, you noticed a group of men, pirates, who had entered the bar
they were loud and rowdy, everything a pirate typically was, and you internally sighed
here we go
the pirates walked up to the counter and obnoxiously sat themselves down, ignoring the loud scraping of the chairs from how aggressively they had pulled them out
one of the men eyed you standing there and beckoned you over with a wave of his hand
grimacing, you placed a fake smile on your face and walked over
"what can I help y'all with?"
you could feel the eyes of the pirates moving up and down your body and resisted the urge to shiver
"get us the hardest liquor you have, in bulk, sweet thing"
you internally rolled your eyes, sending the man a curt nod
"coming right up"
-
an hour had passed since the green-haired man and the group of pirates had walked in
your coworker had since come back from her break, and, feeling bad for the poor girl's terrified looks toward the pirates, offered to take care of them while she attended to any of the other patrons
that unfortunately included the man with the swords who had first caught your eye, but you shrugged it off
he seemed to keep to himself, so you figured you could still admire him from afar
meanwhile, the group of pirates you had offered to take care of were slowly testing your patience
ignoring the copious amounts of alcohol they were consuming (you're pretty sure they were about to drink your work dry), they had become increasingly disruptive
the majority of the group were all incredibly drunk, shouting and yelling at anyone who supposedly looked at them wrong and breaking glasses and chairs, practically anything they touched
they had even begun to shout at you whenever they wanted more alcohol
while, to a certain extent, you were used to this, it doesn't mean it didn't get on your nerves
"GIRL!" a loud shout sounded out throughout the room
you sighed, turning around
"get us more alcohol now!" one of the men slurred
he could barely sit up straight and was leaning most of his body weight onto the passed out man next to him
"I'm sorry sir, but I'm afraid I can't give you anymore," you sent him a strained smile
the man's face dropped and a scowl appeared on his face
"what do you mean? You bitch, you're probably keeping it from us!"
his face turned red in anger and he slammed his hand onto the counter
you barely flinched, staring the man down
"Sorry sir, but you and your crew are being too disruptive so I'm not allowed to give you any more drinks today"
turning around, you were about to begin washing some of the other cups when the feeling of something flying past your ear stopped you
something shattered on the wall right next to your head
the gasp of your coworker seemed to echo throughout the otherwise quiet bar
freezing, you glanced down at the floor only to see the remains of a glass cup
"If you don't want that cup to be aimed at your head, you'll bring us more drinks," the man shouted
you turned around angrily
"get out of my bar," you looked at the man in his eyes
he let out a sarcastic laugh
"I'm not listening to some stupid little girl," he snarled
"I'm not going to tell you again, get out of my bar or I have no problem making sure you and your crew will never be allowed to dock at this island ever again"
Can I actually do that? No. But he doesn't need to know that, you thought, secretly praying he wouldn't realize you were bluffing
the man snarled and within a split second, he was lunging across the counter with his arms outreached, attempting to grab you by the throat
you flinched, throwing your arms up in an attempt to protect yourself as much as physically possible from the angry pirate
but hands never came
opening your eyes, you blinked down at the floor before carefully looking up past your forearms
you saw the pirate who had lunged at you frozen with one leg on top of the counter and two hands outstretched
his eyes were wide and they looked downwards
following his eyesight, you couldn't help but gape at the long blade that was being held mere centimeters away from the man's throat
you followed the blade up its hilt and up the arm that was holding it only to find at the end, the green-haired man
he wasn't even looking at the pirate, sitting almost casually at the counter with his other arm preoccupied holding his beer
throwing the last remaining liquid down his throat, the man wiped his mouth before throwing a sideways glance at the pirate whom he still held his blade against his throat
"I think the lady asked you to get out of her bar."
the man's voice was even deeper, if possible
almost as if his voice broke whatever trance the entire bar seemed to be in, all hell broke loose the second those words left the green-haired man's mouth
the other pirates all but growled, immediately yanking out their own swords and charging towards the man
who still sat completely unfazed
"hey!-"
before you could even say anything, the green-haired man was up and had one of his swords drawn
almost as if he was fighting against children, the man was able to completely knock out every single pirate who had charged at him within seconds
you stood behind the counter, staring at him in awe
he didn't even look like he was sweating
the man stood with his sword drawn and pointed at the pirate who had initially lunged at you, head faced downwards
slowly, he looked up and cocked a brow at the pirate
"your move"
the pirate scowled and, grabbing his hat from where it lay on the bar, walked out of the room yelling profanities
and leaving his passed out crew behind
gaping, you watched as the man gracefully sheathed his sword and slowly sat back down in his original seat
you stared at him for a few seconds before grabbing something from beside you and walking over to where the man sat
you placed another beer on the counter and slowly slid it toward him
he glanced at the beer and then up at you
"A thank you," you started, "for stopping that man from trying to kill me."
the man nodded and wordlessly grabbed the bottle, taking a long sip
" I hate pirates like that," he spoke lowly
you nodded
"part of the job unfortunately," you shrugged
the man hummed
it was silent for a few seconds
"what's your name?" you asked curiously
the man glanced up at you through his eyelashes
bringing the beer to his mouth, he spoke over the rim of the bottle
"Mingi."
you nodded
"Mingi.." you tested the name on your tongue
"Well, Mingi, thank you again for helping me. If you ever need anything, I owe you one," you swore, holding out your pinky
the man, Mingi, looked down at your finger before looking back at you with a questioning look
"pinky promises can't be broken," you explained
it was silent for a moment as Mingi stared at your hand
you were about to pull your hand back, feeling embarrassed that you were using a childish action to make a promise
even if you wholeheartedly believed in it
but then
another pinky linked with yours
looking up, you saw Mingi already staring at you, a small smirk resting on his face
"I'll hold you to that, doll."

LUFFY x READER
“Stolen Chances.”
Luffy x fem! reader
Written in 2nd pov
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
It was a rainy day on Dungwit Island where you lived, when a giant pirate ship came to town. It wasn't so rare to come across pirates where you lived, so when you saw that a new group had come strolling in naturally you were very excited. "Pirates!" A few people gasped that word like it was poison. You smiled to yourself because of their reactions because you saw your next meal coming from these men. You didn't fear them.
You'd eyed the pirate ship a few moments more as you moved towards the dock to get some information on who they might be, where they came from. Obviously somebody there must have a bounty on their head based on the reaction of the villagers that stared at their flag with shocked faces. You approach one of the villagers to ask what they knew about the captain of the ship, making sure to swing your hips so you could seduce him enough to talk.
You walk in front of the man and you place your hand on your hip looking up at him with a sweet smile. "Hey there big guy!" You say to the older white man, he was balding and his physique was actually big. He wore tattered fisherman clothing and he was missing a canine. "Who? Me?" The man asks looking down at you with his chest puffed up like he was ready to fight. You give a flirty smile and you reach up to rub his stubby chin, "yeah you! What do you know about those pirates that just landed? Why is everyone so nervous?"
You continue stroking his chin watching his face contort into that of lustful comfort. He probably hasn't had a woman touch him in years! No wonder he was getting all aroused because of your touch. "Aye, I'm just a fisherman little lady," his laugh rumbles like a drum, "but I've seen that strawhat before! There's this pirate out there that has that hat, I can't remember his name, but I've seen him on a bunch of flyers! He's popular. Which means he must have a big bounty on him."
You nod, furrowing your eyebrows and squinting your eyes, trying to make it seem as though you really cared. "I barely got a look at them, but there's a redheaded woman and a green haired man that came out the ship with them." Excellent! "Thank you for sharing~" you tell the stranger with a cheeky smile. "Oh! Before I leave you, where did you see them go?" You asked the stranger. The man rubbed his own chin, "oh uh into the market! Be careful though, one of them has swords. I think he's a swordsman!" Well that couldn't be more obvious now huh?
You tried to not react with a negative face as you turned and walked towards the market. Finally, the real deal! There was bound to be a marine ship near if these pirates are here, because where there are pirates often times there are also marines! You couldn’t wait to get somebody's head in a bag so you could collect some berries! Even if it were 200.
Far ahead you spotted two heads, a redhead and a green haired man, but no strawhat. The rain had increased and you didn't want to get soaked so you went into the nearest little restaurant for shelter. Somebody had to leave an umbrella or a coat lying around, so you were gonna steal one. They could always get a new one! The moment you turned to the right to see the racks of umbrellas and coats that was out in the open you bumped heads with a boy.
'Geez. Talk about hard headed!' Was your first thoughts on that interaction. "Ow." You and the boy say at the same time, except you said it in lowercase and him all caps. "Sorry there! I was looking for a seat and I didn't see you!! My apologies!" The boy yells with a silly bright smile on his face. You couldn't find the right emotions to describe how you felt looking into his light brown eyes.
"It's okay." You return the smile quickly walking away and heading to the clothes. You had to find those two people you saw earlier, you were sure they probably disappeared by now because of this hold up. "GIVE ME MORE MEAT!!" You heard the boy yell in the background. "He's so loud you could hear him from 3 sheds away."
Your sticky hands grab on to a nice looking coat that must have been 400 berries and you wrap yourself in it, leaving the restaurant quickly so you can find the strangers. They were bound to lead you to that strawhat pirate, most likely their captain. The rain increased and clouded your eyes making it hard to see. You rubbed your eyes and walked ahead to the last place you saw those two and saw nothing. There wasn't a trace of them.
"Excuse me ma'am?" You asked a passing young woman, "have you seen two people with red and green hair walking together?" She nods, "oh yes! The strange duo! They just left that shop over there," she points to a little shop that had cloth. "I think I heard them say something about leaving."
Oh great! You groan and you run from the market heading back to their ship. Not them leaving! You just got back to trailing them! When you got back to the docks you saw their ship leaving and you got nervous. What if the bounty was really big? Like 5000 berries? Capturing one of them dead or alive would be good money!
You run up to the edge of the bridge as they were in departure and you jumped on to a hanging rope they had! People weren't around so they didn't see you. You grip on to the rope tightly, putting your shoes on the boat and tightening your grip as you scaled the ship. "That bounty has gotta be miraculous." You say to yourself with a smile.
When you're up high enough, you pull yourself into the ship and you land on your back, hard. There was talking a few seconds ago when you were climbing, so their sudden silence made you worried. You shrug, you're not gonna be too worried though! How much were there? Three? You could take em.
You get up off the floor and you hide behind the closest pole, hearing some footsteps walk out and pause, followed by a voice. "Did something fall Zoro?!" "No!" Okay two voices! The footsteps retreated and a door closed. You sighed with relief and walked out from behind the pole. Ready or not captain! Here you come.
You sneak over to the door the man 'Zoro' was at and you peek inside to see a warmly lit room followed by smiling faces. There was food set on the table, everyone around raised a glass to the sky and clinked them! "Haha! To Luffy for defeating that bastard Arlong!!" The crew was celebrating.
You counted at five of them. Not three. Five. Let's take a breather. You back away from the door and you lean against the wall with a worried face. There wasn't three pirates on this ship, there are five. What the hell are you gonna do up against five of them?
You began having second thoughts now on if you should still attempt to capture somebody, dead or alive. There is a chance it could be the other way around and your life was on the line. Unfortunately for you when you turned to just leave the ship the door opened and out walked that green haired man. "If you step out of the dark now, quietly and cooperate, I won't kill you." You squeak at his sudden appearance and on the fact that he knows you're there!
You take a step out with your hands tightly by your side, ready to take action, fight or flight. The green haired man folded his arms with no reaction. "See! I told you guys someone was here!" Out came the other crewmates, one of them, a black boy, seemed terrified until he saw it was just one person and that it was a girl. "Oh! It's just a woman! Don't worry guys the great captain Usopp will protect you against this feeble creature!" "Feeble?!" You pulled out your guns that were strapped on your thighs hidden beneath your flowy f/c skirt. "Oh she's got weapons!!" Usopp shrieked going back behind the red haired woman.
Everyone looked at him with a blank stare, like they expected that to happen. Before the green haired man could say another word a boy with a strawhat came walking from behind him to the front. "Zoro, don't." He says with his eyes looking at her deeply. "Oh I know this woman!" The boy cheers, "she's the one I told you guys about! The head bumper! Zoro lower your swords!" The boy scolds the green haired man, whose name you learnt was Zoro.
You raise your eyebrow at this boy trying to rack your brain. Oh yes! You do remember him too! He bumped into your head! "You bumped into me." You corrected him. "Ah! We bumped each other!" The boy cheers. "What are you doing on my ship?" You mentally facepalmed. THIS was the strawhat pirate you were gonna kill first and you had him right at your fingertips!
"I'm here to collect your head pirate!" You tell him with your best serious face. The red haired girl laughed lowly and you gave her a dirty stare. "What's so funny?" She shrugs, "there's five of us and one of you. Do you even know who you're dealing with?" "Yeah we're the strawhat pirates! You don't know us! We defeated Arlong!!" Usopp chimed in. "Quiet." The girl told him. "Sorry!-" he apologized quickly.
You scoffed at their claims. "I don't care if you've killed thousands of marines before! I'm here to collect somebody's head here! Seeing that you're all behind this strawhat boy that would mean he's your captain, which means he has a bounty on him and it must be large." The boy smiles cheek to cheek. "You want my head?" You feel your heart thug because of his smile lines.
"Y-yeah?" "She fumbled." The red haired girl states the obvious walking away. You felt so embarrassed now! Your face was burning up with shame. You cock the gun and you aim it her way, "hey don't move!!" You threatened, "if you move I'll shoot!!" Everyone looked at each other and their captain raises his hands. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
You stared at him with determination. "Don't test me." Zoro and Usopp step back, while the red haired girl and the blonde were in the back as well, he seemed to have his arm tightly around her waist. "Don't worry Nami I won't let a bullet touch you." He told her with an angry look in his eye. Nami, the girl with the red hair seemed so unfazed. "Yeah, thanks Sanji I know. Hey Luffy!" She calls to her captain, "yeah?!" Luffy calls back not breaking eye contact with you. His smile never left, like he was really tempting you to try your look. "Hurry up and end this." "You betcha!!"
You felt ignored and disrespected. You had a gun pointed at these fools! Who were they to act as though you weren't a threat! "Don't brush me off like some bug!!" You yelled at them; you shot two bullets at them at random, kind of aiming at their captain Luffy, yet aiming at Sanji and Zoro at the same time. Immediately Luffy became a giant balloon like creature, the bullets ricochet off of him. Your eyes went wide with shock and fear; you've never seen anything like this in your 19 years on this earth!
You screamed but it was cut short because one of your bullets grazed your leg and the other hit you directly in the shoulder. You fell to your knees and held your shoulder, looking up and into his eyes that seemed to have gotten darker. Quickly Nami came behind you and grabbed both of your arms to keep you in place. "Told yah." Luffy says with a sinister smile, or at least, it looked sinister. He waves his hand and Sanji left quickly to the room they came out of, while Usopp runs to another room and Zoro gives you a smirk, "Feel smart huh?" "What ARE you?!" You question Luffy. He shrugs and gets down to your height tilting your chin up, he looks at you, trying not to bite his lip.
"I'm your captain." Zoro and Nami respond with, "WHAT?!" At the same time, staring at their captain with shock and anger. "Luffy you can't be serious!" "Come on, it's late and we're not going back to that Island!" He gets back up and he points at Usopp who came running with a medical kit. "Take that bullet out her arm. She's gonna be riding with us now! I like her arm! She's now part of the crew!"
You screamed at him and tried to fight everyone off as Nami held you down and made you lay flat on your face, her knee was in your back. You grunt and hiss now that the pain from the bullet was starting to hurt more. "Just be still." Usopp tells you with a nervous smile going close to your arm. "Zoro, pick her up and take her to the map room!" Nami instructs, "LUFFY!" She calls for her captain angrily. "NAMIIII!!" Luffy responds but in a cherry tone.
Nami approaches him and pokes his chest. "I have no idea what you're planning, but that woman just tried to kill us. Now you're making her a member of the crew?" Luffy shrugs, "I see no problem! She is clearly a good person doing a bad thing! Besides I think she's pretty! She could be useful and a good friend for you Nami! Seeing as you're the only girl, maybe a GIRL friend for Nami?-' Luffy gives a bright smile and pats her shoulder.
"Let's go learn our new friend's name!!" He was surely excited to get to know his killer, and he especially loved how his heart beat extra fast when he was near you.

Gott's Roadside, St. Helena
Gott's Roadside is a Northern California restaurant group with seven locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a family-owned diner concept restaurant with influence from California cuisine.
The family-owned company's niche is fast food made with ingredients from local purveyors cooked to-order, including hamburgers and Ahi burgers, salads, French fries, and milkshakes, plus seasonal specials like the “Seoul” pork burger with kimchi and the B.L.T. with heirloom tomatoes. On July 25, 2017, Gott's started serving the vegan Impossible burger. Food & Wine magazine has labeled it as an “idealized version of the American roadside stand”.
When the owners of a burger shack in St. Helena—Taylor's Refresher—decided to lease out their 50-year-old property, brothers Joel and Duncan Gott capitalized the opportunity to run their own restaurant. The restaurant became Taylor's Automatic Refresher when the first location re-opened in St. Helena in 1999, and (in the aftermath of a trademark dispute, and over the protests of the Taylor family) was renamed in 2010 as Gott's Roadside.
The restaurants embrace a California-casual cooking style, featuring microbrewed beer and wines alongside chili cheese dogs and mini corn dogs. In 2004, a second Gott's opened in the Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco, and in 2007, a third opened in the Oxbow Public Market of Napa. The St. Helena spot is a drive-in, with seating at red picnic tables on the lawn, while the other two locations are built in an urban, retro diner-style. In 2013, a fourth location opened in Palo Alto. The newest Gott's Roadside location is now open in Greenbrae in Marin County. The company remains privately owned.
