I wonder if people who don't know My Next Life as a Villainess All Routes Lead to Doom see posts from people they follow for other reasons and see a bigger focus on how Katarina's feelings and actions towards Maria and think that it's a one-sided ship on Katarina's part (at least within canon as far as they are aware from what they see through Tumblr)?

If you are one such person (and especially if this makes you question the ship as a whole) please know that the reason for the lack of focus into Maria's words and actions towards Katarina, is because Maria has already straight up confessed that she's in full on romantic love with Katarina, but Katarina is EXTREMELY clueless and doesn't realize this (that's the type of anime it is, everyone is in love with her but she's like "Aw everyone is so nice and such great friends, BUT they're going to get me killed or banished or thrown in prison so I MUST remain on guard and keep teaching myself how to be a farmer and such, for when I'm banished as that is what I expect is the best possible outcome")

So yes, there's no need to analyze how Maria actually feels because we KNOW this, so instead the focus is on how Katarina actually feels because she does and says things that heavily indicate her own romantic feelings for Maria while obviously thinking that's not the direction things are going to go and also having moments here and there with every other person who's in love with her, making it a better thing to focus on

Uhm anyways my personal hc (which may be canon? or at least heavily accepted in the fanon) is that they are both sapphic. and they will hold hands. and in general even if you don't ship them romantically, they're blue and pink so.. perfect stimboard material.

Hamefura x Pokémon AU: The Legendaries and the Covenants

@zmeyel Suggested that I uses Xerneas and Yveltal as the main Legendaries for this setting and give then a connection to the Covenants that Katarina and Maria adquire.

What they said makes sense as Life and Death are somewhat connected to Light and Darkness (yes, I know that Yveltal is the ‘Destruction’ Pokémon but it’s close enough). 

Light Magic can be used to heal injuries and keep someone alive; also, Xerneas can learn the move Heal Pulse. 

Dark Magic is powered by absorbing the life energy of living creatures which is something Yveltal can do. 

Yveltal is part Dark-Type, and while we don’t have a ‘Light-Type’, I’ve seen many fans consider Fairy-Type to be close enough.

Now, I’m not sure what being connected to the Covenants would mean for Xerneas and Yveltal. Maybe the Covenants contain some of Xerneas’s and Yveltal’s power and the Covenants’ owners can use them to summon and/or control them.

Katarina and Maria are Yveltal’s and Xerneas’s chosen, explaining how they found the Covenants and why they are the only ones who can use them. Being Yveltal’s chosen also explains why Katarina is capable of using Dark Magic without the need of human sacrifice. Maria’s Light Magic is also much stronger as a result of being Xerneas’s chosen.

How does all this relate to Team Dark’s plan of world domination?

Team Dark wants to capture Yveltal and use its power to absorb life energy to make it easy to conquer Sorcier and later the world. Team Dark want to find and ‘recruit’ Yveltal’s chosen so they can take control of the Destruction Pokémon.

After FL Katarina joins Team Dark, she finds the Dark Covenant and discovers she’s is Yveltal’s chosen. At the same time, Maria finds the Light Covenant and discovers she is Xerneas chosen. This all comes to head in their final battle where Maria uses Xerneas to fight against Katarina’s Yveltal.

(I’ll explain how Bakarina’s actions after regaining her memories affected this in a later post).
