One more new tv show of this season Doctor Odyssey (last one, I think, of those I planned to check). I'm not enticed to keep watching this one. Using Covid as the MC's defining backstory moment makes me cringe.
Another problem? One of the Secondary Main Characters confides in MC about his infatuation with the other SMC. And what does MC do? He flirts with her, then they make out and stop short of having sex right then and there. That's not a way to make your MC likeable, show.
One of those things -- especially the second one -- I could be okay-ish with, as it's a source of good conflict and gives a lot of room for character growth. The Covid things alone? IDEK. I might give the show a second-episode chance, I guess.
Now, the male SMC is played by Sean Teale (Marcos! I didn't recognize him, I swear). And Don Johnson as the Captain? He's delightful. I'm not sure those two positives can keep me engaged, though.

DELISTED: Eclipse (Marcos Diaz)
When The Gifted premiered we were ready for a TV show about the mutant underground. But in 2023, it's mostly forgotten, along with its show-original protagonist.
70% of Summoners said no
show canceled
Eclipsed by more important characters.

Late to the party, but I definitely agree that yes, they needed consequences and to earn forgiveness. I get that the writers were probably aware that the show was very likely to be canceled, that's why they wrapped up the plot threads, and if you stop before the cliffhanger (that was about something else entirely), the IC vs MU story was finished, the Purifiers' leader was caught, etc. And I think the writers didn't want to end it with the characters on each other's throats, so they had Andy and Lorna easily forgiven. I'm pretty sure if there had been a season 3 they would have explored more trust issues. I even wrote a canon-compliant fic set between 2x15 and 2x16 (extending the rooftop scene) about Lorna, Andy, and Lauren talking about the stuff that happened and Andy explaining himself and apologizing properly.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/24673687 However, I don't think what Andy did to Lauren was objectively worse than what Lorna did to Marcos. There are a lot of circumstantial points, like the fight where Lauren had a concussion from the landing. Andy accidentally killed Twist with a push later on the season in a similar fashion (she hit her head somewhere), he clearly underestimated the potential for accidents when pushing someone with his powers, and Lauren's concussion was before that. It could easily have been Marcos instead of Lauren (both were pushed at the same time, Marcos was lucky he landed without getting hurt), or even Andy himself could have gotten hurt - when they played the exact same push vs pull game during that dream fight later on the season, Lauren had Andy's ass handed to him (I felt like they got even after that lmao). Also, Andy was visibly shaken after Lauren was hurt and questioned himself, Lorna was the one who made him 'accept' what happened by telling him he had done good. We could see how different Andy is when he actually wants to hurt someone, like when he started breaking every bone of that Purifier who shot at Lauren without any remorse, smiling as he did it. So I'd say circumstances didn't have Lorna and Marcos fight each other, and, because of that, Andy appears worse. Andy letting the Frosts enter his mind to try to persuade Lauren to join their side was awful as well, but Andy only allowed it after Sentinel Services almost killed Lauren and Caitlin, and was convinced by the Frosts that it was the only way to keep Lauren safe (and was gaslighted into believing that, because the IC's intentions were to have Fenris combined power at their side, not to protect Lauren). But Lorna allowed the Frosts to take control over Marcos' mind (to get him to leave the Inner Circle's building after he had expressed his desire to stay with their baby daughter) so I feel they were equal on that point.
I think Andy was circumstantially worse to Lauren than Lorna was to Marcos, but, objectively, I would put both Lorna and Andy on equal footing, and emotionally probably Lorna was worse since she made decisions that, at the time, cut Marcos off from their daughter's life.
I finally watch the last episode…. Am I the only one who is angry about Lorna and Andy coming back as if nothing had happened? Like, do not get me wrong, I loved that they’re back, but both have done horrible things for those they love, Andy mostly, so I hope there’s at least one apology, a retraction because theirs actions was never right, especially Andy to Lauren. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the episode, I mean, not that much, we missed a great opportunity to have Lauren in action, she could have taken her and Catelyn out of there easy, but someone had a great idea to give that serum to her. The episode was emotional in the right spots, I loved that final, Thunderbird collapsing and hearing Blink calling for him in another dimension really broke my heart.
Honestly, I don’t know what to expect from the last episode, it’s the last and I feel like there are so many open spots to solve, and with the great chances of being the last episode of the show, I do not see how everything can be fixed in an episode…
