Four years later.
Four years later and I'm 15 again. Transported through time to a different freshman year. A different bedroom. A different time.
The same Minecraft server once again on my screen. The same stuffed animals surrounding me. The same cold tears burning in my eyes.
That same sickly ray of hope cutting through my darkened room, rekindling the fading embers of a crushed passion.

Understanding Instrumentation Valves and Their Types
Instrumentation valves play a crucial role in various industrial applications, especially where precise control of fluids, gases, or pressure is required. These valves are specifically designed to regulate flow and ensure the safety and efficiency of systems. They are vital in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and more. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at some of the key types of instrumentation valves, including their functions, applications, and why Freture Techno Pvt. Ltd. is a trusted provider.
Types of Instrumentation Valves
There are several common types of instrumentation valves used in different industrial settings, each designed to meet specific needs. Here are five prominent types:
1. Double Block and Bleed Valve (DBB Valve)
The Double Block and Bleed Valve is an essential component in many industrial systems that require isolation for safety or maintenance purposes. This valve allows two independent blocks to seal off both sides of the pipeline and a bleed valve in between to vent or relieve pressure.
The DBB valve is widely used in applications where there is a need for safe isolation, such as oil and gas pipelines, chemical plants, and even power generation systems. This design minimizes the risk of leaks and ensures that hazardous fluids or gases are safely contained during maintenance or inspections.
2. Monoflange Valve
Monoflange valves are a compact solution designed to replace traditional assemblies of multiple valves used for isolation, venting, and calibration. They combine the functions of several valves into a single unit, which simplifies installation and reduces weight and space requirements.
Monoflange valves are commonly found in oil and gas industries, offshore platforms, and chemical processing plants. They are ideal for environments where space is limited, yet high performance and reliability are essential. The combination of isolation and venting capabilities within a single valve reduces the potential for leak points, making them a popular choice in critical applications.
3. Ball Valve
Ball valves are versatile, widely used in a range of industries for shut-off and control applications. These valves use a spherical disc (or ball) to control the flow of fluids or gases. When the valve is in the "open" position, the ball's hole aligns with the flow path, allowing fluid to pass through. When it’s in the "closed" position, the ball rotates to block the flow entirely.
Ball valves are known for their durability, ease of use, and ability to provide tight seals even after long periods of disuse. They are often used in water treatment, oil and gas systems, and chemical plants, making them one of the most reliable options for managing flow in instrumentation systems.
4. Check Valve
Check valves, also known as non-return valves, are designed to prevent backflow in a system. They allow fluid to flow in only one direction and automatically close if the flow reverses. This is crucial in protecting equipment and ensuring the safe operation of pipelines or other systems that rely on consistent flow.
Check valves are often used in water systems, fuel pipelines, and air compression systems, where maintaining directional flow is vital. They offer a simple yet effective solution to prevent contamination or damage from reverse flow.
5. Needle Valve
Needle valves are designed for precise flow control in low-flow systems. They have a small, tapered point at the end of a screw, which fits into a similarly shaped seat. As the valve is turned, the point gradually moves out of the seat, allowing more fluid to flow through.
Needle valves are used in applications where accurate flow regulation is critical, such as in hydraulic systems, gas chromatography, and other instrumentation systems. Their design allows for fine-tuned adjustments, making them ideal for systems that require precise control of pressure and flow rates.

1973 to 1974 Pontiac Trans Am SD-455
End of an Era: The Trans Am SD-455 emerged during the twilight of the muscle car era, as rising insurance rates and federal regulations stifled high-performance vehicles in the early 1970s.
Miraculous Production: Producing the SD-455 was a feat, given the political climate against high-performance cars. It almost didn't happen.
Firebird's Near Extinction: The Firebird line, including the Trans Am, was nearly canceled after 1972 due to plummeting sales, with a drop of more than 56% from the previous year.
Unique Engine Components: The SD-455 engine featured almost entirely unique parts, from the block and heads to the intake manifold and carburetor.
Initial Power Rating: Initially, the SD-455 was rated at 310 horsepower. However, emissions regulations required a revised camshaft, dropping the rating to 290 horsepower.
Delayed Production: Production delays meant that by the end of 1973, only 295 SD-455 Firebirds had been built, leading to significant customer dissatisfaction.
Costly Upgrade: The SD-455 engine added $521 to the Trans Am’s price and $675 to the Formula, equivalent to over $3,700 in today's money.
Transmission Options: The Trans Am SD-455 came with a four-speed manual transmission standard, while the Turbo 400 three-speed automatic was optional.
Performance Metrics: Despite a compression ratio of only 8.4:1, the SD-455's 395 lb-ft of torque and exceptional airflow made it the quickest car out of Detroit at the time, achieving quarter-mile times in the mid-to-high 13-second range.
Short Production Run: The SD-455's production ended in 1974, with a total of only 1,286 units produced over two years.
Enthusiast Admiration: Despite its short production run, the SD-455 received universal praise for its performance, even as other high-performance cars of the era lagged behind.
Collector’s Dream: John Nikolas, an avid collector, owns four SD-455 Trans Ams, highlighting the car’s enduring appeal among enthusiasts.
Well-Preserved Models: Many SD-455 Trans Ams, like Nikolas's 1974 Cameo White model, have been well-preserved, maintaining their original components and features.
Luxury Options: The Trans Am SD-455 could be equipped with various luxury options, including power windows, power locks, and air conditioning, pushing the sticker price to nearly $6,300.
Functional Shaker Scoop: The iconic shaker scoop, initially functional, was capped in 1973 for noise reduction.

"jack manifold would make the beef jump!" "jack manifold couldn't make the beef jump, he'd fail!" jack manifold would make the beef jump and then he'd get so excited that he goes and hits the griddy and accidentally falls off the block and goes to prison next question

ok but actually everyone talks about whether their OCs would jump for the beef or the chicken in pkciv BUT that's a bit boring innit. The most interesting defining characteristic of a parkour citizen is what jumps they can make... like, Evbo always had his backwards jumps and 360s, the old Champion had barrier blocks, all the various Legends had their specialties that made them legendary in the first place, and Clownpierce had Parkour Race..... so the real question is what kind of parkour would a character specialize in that sets them out from the rest
In addition here's some MCYTs that I& came up with specialties for:
For Jack Manifold it would make a lot of sense to do damage boosts. Like using blocks such as cactus or setting himself on fire in order to get additional jump height which is a very precise trick to pull off that would no doubt win him many battles
Tommy would not focus on ranking up but instead be happy with his life as a parkour noob or pro (symbolizing him finding beauty and comfort in the unlovable and the unappreciated aspects of life), so I& think his specialty would be jukeboxes because while they don't make your jumps any harder and wouldn't win anyone any battles, they make his boss music play while you fight him
However when Dream becomes the parkour champion and needs to be stopped, Tommy invents a new kind of parkour rhythm game where if your opponent builds using noteblocks you have to jump in sync with them (or maybe to the rhythm that they set?)
And lastly Grian would invent elytra parkour lol. He's also a master tryhard

the whole discourse around boundaries just confuses me because there are so many arguments and contradictions in every argument and there are so many different reasons why people say each argument is valid and right/evil and wrong. it so hard to keep up with everything because everything is just so inconsistent??
like 'boundaries' as a name to begin with SHOULD mean 'i will not engage with this material & you will be banned/blocked/etc if you put it in my spaces' but it doesnt it means 'you are not allowed to create this content' which is so weird to begin with, but then you get two branches of people going 'oh okay' to this: people who just also dont engage with/create any of that content or people who will literally just start making shit up if they can use it to make people seem evil or something
i dont even know which side i agree with because the idea that ccs will go 'i dont like this content' and then actively seek it out so they can be upset about it (jack manifold) seems so dumb and hardly the person's fault that the cc intentionally looked for something they would hate. but also i dont really get why it's so bad to listen to the cc? i personally just stick to boundaries because i cannot be bothered to delve into that discourse

Orpheus rates DSMP Doomsday prep inventories
(Thanks @irrealisms for screenshots and encouragement!)
Tumblr media
Tommy - 9/10. Weapons, ammo, good armor, tactical Lore Fish, enderpearls, food, blocks, trident… you go, funky little man. Could use potions and an e-chest.
Tumblr media
Jack Manifold - 7/10. Like he's not tryharding, or he's not tryharding well, but he did bring the important things. The bow looks unenchanted which which 8 arrows is pretty cringe. The shield durability is also cringe but he does have the supplies to make more. Good work, Jack!
Tumblr media
Technoblade - 10/10. Who am I to criticize Technoblade's PVP loadout.
Tumblr media
Niki - 4/10. Look at her! She made an effort! Good for her. (She wasn't planning on getting in the fighting much, which does help.)
Tumblr media
Tubbo - 4/10. He also made an effort! I think the enchanted shield is a nice touch.
Tumblr media
Phil - 10/10. Good for him.
Tumblr media
Ranboo (+ full enchanted netherite) - 6/10. Most of his points are for bringing weapons and good armor. If he brought anything else useful, he will not be able to find it.
Tumblr media
Puffy - 3/10. What are you doing, Puffy. (Apparently she was explicitly not bringing her good armor to the fight, which is sensible and fair enough.)
Tumblr media
Ghostbur - 2/10. One point has been awarded for Blue. After haranguing, one additional point has been awarded for Charm.
I know he didn't know there was a war on, but the thing is, this is also a garbage inventory for anything at all, including building or hanging out. I don't think you tried at all, Ghostbur. I love you.
Tumblr media
Fundy - 6/10 if the bow doesn't have infinity, 7/10 if it does.
Tumblr media
Eret (+ iirc full netherite armor) - 8/10. Yeah you thought this one through! Go Eret!
Tumblr media
Quackity - 8/10. Now he could use armor. But he has a boat and waterbucket for clutches, some food, gold he can trade to piglins if he finds someone else's crafting bench, one potion which I'm sure has a useful tactical effect, a bed to reset his spawn, blocks to tower with, magma blocks and flint & steel for tactical juking moves, AND the stuff to make furnaces and make decent food if he finds someone else's crafting bench, and burns the boat and his bow in the furnace. Now that's a professional minecrafter.
