Glorious Queen of peace, grant us peace in our hearts, harmony in our families and concord throughout the world. Immaculate Mother, as patroness of our beloved country, watch over us and protect us with your motherly love. Amen.

Jesus gave us the gift of His mother as He was dying on the cross when He said "Behold, your mother." Mary, as our spiritual mother, looks after us in a special, intimate way. As a mother comforts her baby, Mary gently comforts us. As a mother supports and nurtures her child, Mary guides and encourages us. As a mother protects her child from harm, Mary, through her intercession, defends us from evil. As a mother embraces her child, Mary covers us in her perfect love. As a mother lovingly swaddles her baby, Mary lovingly wraps us in her mantle and offers us courage and strength to unite ourselves more fully to Christ.

Don't ever underestimate God's ability to show up in the mundane. When I started reading Lockwood & Co, I had no idea how important it would be to me, not just emotionally, but even for my faith. So here are some ways God used a series about ghosts to remind me I am loved:
I'm a cradle Catholic, but I suffer from severe Religious OCD. Devotion to the Blessed Mother has always been very important to me, but since a particularly bad relapse two years ago, Mama Mary has become hard for me to even think about. I, of course, felt guilty about this. What mother wants a daughter who can't even think about her? Who shrinks deeper into her seat when she sees images of her? A daughter who knows and believes all that this Mother wants is to guide her children to the Heart of her Son, yet still feels a knot form in the pit of her stomach the moment Marian theology is mentioned? What kind of mother has patience for that? The reoccuring Marian images in Lockwood and Co hit me hard. I wasn't expecting them, given the fact this isn't a "Christian" story. But they were there. And all I could think about was Mary showing up in something I love, whispering, "I'm still here. I still love you. I'm not mad. How could I hate a little girl my Son loved enough to die for? And this story that's important to you, it's important to me, too. Because it makes you happy. And so I'm here." It was a reminder that I am not my struggles. I am seen, and known, and loved.
At home between university semesters and very lonely, neurodivergent little me got to read about Lucy Mentally Ill Carlyle— spurned, abandoned, lonely and shattered— finding a family. While I was stuck in an ill-starred situationship that lasted much longer than it should have, I got to read about steady, kind, patient, and loyal masculinity in Lockwood. When I wondered, like I always do, who my oldest brother would have grown up to be if he was alive, I could daydream about Anthony and Jessica, feel the wrenching loss they both felt, the phantom limb of someone who is supposed to be there but isn't. I'm sure there is so much more, but these are the things I can think of at the moment. God took a story about ghost hunting and reminded me I am ridiculously loved and relentlessly pursued. That I am not alone. That I shouldn't settle. That I am more than my crosses. That I am worth being loved.

Hopefully you also get to learn a new Marian title or two from this poll… I did a lot of research!
Please reblog for bigger sample size :)
