teacher reader overworking herself and sheriff rafe coming to the rescue?
➸ Protecting You from Yourself
Sheriff!Rafe x Teacher!Reader
➸ Masterlist!
Requests open!
You're working yourself to the ground, and Rafe is not having it anymore.
Warnings: Mentions of not eating (one day), fear of disapproval
(Re-blogging helps smaller writers like me! Please enjoy!)
The end of the year was approaching quicker than you had thought. You were already overwhelmed with the piles of ungraded papers from your class, but on top of that, of course you had to volunteer to help another teacher. Mrs. Rhodes, the first grade teacher from the class beside you, had been working for decades longer than you. Apparently that means she thinks she can dump papers on your desk and expect you to grade them for her.
But as you were sitting at the kitchen table, drowning in paperwork, you found yourself taking on the job anyways. You’d been sitting for five hours, not letting yourself get any breaks. Your three kids were making a mess somewhere in the house, surely. They came to ask the occasional question, and as much as it physically hurt to have to prioritize something over them, you couldn’t find a way around it.
“Mommy can I have a popsicle” your youngest, Lucas, asked with wide eyes.
You weakly looked up, nodding, “Sure, sweetie.”
Eventually, each of them found their own hobbies and went about their day, focusing their Saturday on playing board games, racing cars up and down your hallway, and you daughter’s idea of fun; reading quietly on the couch. You had promised her a library trip sometime this weekend, but you were feeling ready to admit defeat.
Rafe’s key clicked in the lock, shocking you back to reality. It was 9:00pm and none of the kids were ready for bed. The feeling made you sick, but no matter how hard you tried, the red pen stayed in your hand.
You observed Rafe’s body language in your peripheral, trying to ignore the way that his eyes fell on your huddled body with pity. A sense of gratefulness took over when he made the decision to ignore the sad sight that you were and instead worked to get each kid ready for bed.
Another hour passed, and you felt your stomach bubble in hunger, the same way it had all day. Every time you tried to pull yourself away from the grading, emails, and preparations, you were reminded of the first graders and their parents. Your fear of disapproval rung in your ears like a siren.
The only feeling breaking your trance was Rafe’s strong hands weighing down your shoulders, his voice tight in your ear, “You’re pushing too hard.”
You couldn’t count on both hands just how many times you’ve heard those same exact words. The feeling of guilt consumed you as he slowly tugged you back to reality. Your face hit the desk, unable to go further but craving to finish the next paper, satisfy the next student and their families.
“Honey, stop.” Rafe said, jaw clenched with a sense of sympathetic disappointment, “I can’t watch this and do nothing.”
“Rafe.. please.” You groaned, your own voice feeling strangle on your tongue.
“Get up, let’s go.” He said, pushing your chair away from the table and picking you up by your waist, “You must think I’m a fool, letting yourself run into the ground like that.”
Your legs wobbled the second he lifted you, muscles aching from being stuck in the same position for hours. A sharp pang ran through your lower back, but you didn’t care—you finally let yourself collapse against him, the warmth of his chest replacing the cold ache in your bones. A surprised gasp left you as he let your body hit the plush bed, and soon after you felt a soft washcloth on your face.
“Gotta get this makeup off,” Rafe whispered, trying to figure out how to properly erase the smeared mascara from your cheeks.
Your voice was hoarse and hesitant, “I’m sorry.” “Yeah.” He mumbled, torn between being strong and teaching you a lesson or succumbing to your wide, apologetic eyes time and time again.
The deep sound of your stomach craving food broke the silence, and Rafe moved back, realization setting over him uncomfortably.
“Don’t tell me.” He said, voice gruff and hesitant, not ready for the answer, “When did you last eat a real meal?”
You rolled over, trying to ignore the question, craving sleep like never before. Rafe forced you to look at him, his touch strict but still gentle.
“You can’t do this. You can’t shut down.”
Tears stung your waterline, threatening to fall. A sigh left you, knowing deep down that he was right, but not ready to admit your wrongs.
“You are so stubborn, do you know that?” Rafe asked, a chuckle of disbelief leaving him as he continued to care for you, brushing your hair and helping you to take off your glasses.
“You’re eating tomorrow, and you sure as hell aren’t getting stuck in that hole again.” He said, voice decided and closed-minded, not taking no for answer again. You hummed, agreeing.
“I’ll help you, okay?” Rafe promised softly, leaving a lingering kiss on your forehead.
“Okay. I love you.” You said, swallowing the lump in your throat.
“I love you too. Even when you dig yourself deep.” Rafe said, pressing you into his chest and letting his face rest in the mess of your hair, “Don’t do it again. You know I’m here.”
The soft reminder was all you needed. The fear of disapproval faded, the weight of the red pen finally slipping from your mind. You let yourself rest.

✧Wounded Heart✧

Part 1 | Part 2
BEBE! Bada Lee x F Reader: You've always been known as the smartest student in school, while Bada was known as the campus heartthrob and player. She decides to take advantage of her situation, but puts your heart on the line along with her passing grade.
Word Count: 9.2k
TW: Slight self harm
Note: This is the longest fic I've written so far😮💨. I felt so evil writing this, but I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THE ANGST😈. ALSO, please check out my new rule. If not, it just warns blogs with no pfps and reblogs. I have a high chance of soft-blocking you, as I may get shadowbanned bc Tumblr can't defer you from bots.
Character Vision Board
You were never one to gain any attention from anyone. Frankly, you liked it that way.
Known as the most reserved yet nerdiest student in school, you were never called by your name. How could anyone put a name to your face when no one knew what it was. People had only given you the title of top student in university.

Most people knew of your existence, but by always wearing your oversized hoodie over your head, glasses, and mask, you kept your identity a secret amongst your peers. You survived high school like this, so being in your final year of university and still being able to maintain it was a breeze.
It was a regular Monday morning, and you sat in the library before classes, trying to freshen up on your Physics lesson yesterday. You woke up at 6 a.m. to get ready, showered, and ate breakfast with an energy drink before heading out to the library. That was your daily routine, the loner lifestyle, if you will.
As you typed away on your computer, the buzz of other students started coming in waves at 9 a.m., hitting the clock. That meant it was time to head to your first class. After multiple hours of classes, hand-cramping notes, and sitting in the back of every subject, you headed to your favorite class, computer science. For some reason, your brain was highly advanced in this area, making it enjoyable.
30 minutes go by, and just sitting in the back of the class, a tall, nonchalant figure walks in. You visibly see your teacher's face contort as she rolls her eyes at the student. The notorious Bada Lee came in late once again. You believed she began to do it on purpose at this point, as she stopped giving excuses for her tardiness by the second week.
The thought certainly loitered in the back of your mind. You never understood why Bada was the way she was. This was one of the few classes with several options, so if you wanted to avoid taking it, you had multiple other choices. Yet, even being late every day, she showed up and did the work.
Maybe not to the best of her abilities, but she still did it.
There were a few things to note about Bada. She was captain of the school's basketball team and had a distasting reputation. The campus player and heartbreaker. It felt as though, every week, there was new drama surrounding a girl whose heart got broken by the tall student, and it always made you want to roll your eyes every single time. Never understanding why these girls chased and chased, even when knowing their situationships wouldn't be the way it was from their fantasies.
Nearing the end of the class, everyone was getting ready to leave, but the Professor stopped anyone from going further. "Before you leave, I want to discuss the upcoming midterm project."
She pulls up the presentation on the board and explains, "This project requires you to make an updated website for the school. The requirements will be posted online by the end of the day, and I will assign you a partner for this. The highest grade will have their website be used as the new official website for our school. This will be due a month from now."
Everyone becomes surprised and happy at the prize for their upcoming trials. Your professor begins to list the names, and she gets to you, "Baek Y/n... and Bada Lee." Your heart sank instantly at those words.
You grumble with your head down. Out of all the people in the class, you got stuck with the one who'd rather mess with a girl at any chance she had.
Bada sits in her seat, brows furrowed. Who the fuck was Baek Y/n?
Bada knew almost everyone, but she'd never heard of that name. That's when the Professor lets everyone go, and she sees a girl walk up to the teacher. You wore the gigantic hoodie, and Bada couldn't see your face, but with all the gestures you gave your teacher, you seemed like you weren't pleased about something. When she hears you huff in annoyance, and your eyes meet hers while leaving, she sees anger bubbling behind them.
Bada gets up, confused, and heads over to the teacher. "Professor Min, who was that?"
"That was your partner Baek Y/n. You've heard of the top student before, right?" Her eyes double at the older man's words, and her face becomes extremely happy. She would undoubtedly be using this to her advantage.
"Now, don't think of trying to get the girl to do all the work, Bada. I'm allowing you to bring up your grade with this project." She nods furiously before heading out to tell her friends the news.
She sees them over at their school's common room, and her friends, Aiki, Noze, Lee Jung, and Emma, give her weird looks like Bada grew three heads. "Now, why is she cheesing now?" Aiki asks, and the taller girl replies with a smack to her arm.
"You guys won't believe who my partner is for my computer science project."
The four girls looked at each other and began naming several popular girls. Bada rolls her eyes at her friend's antics. "Well, you wanna tell us? We named like half the girls already." Noze says.
"Baek Y/n."
...
"Baek, who now?" Lee Jung looks at her in amusement, but your title shocks them, "Top Student." Their eyes grow wide. The group looked around the room to see if they could find you. "Her name is Baek Y/n?" Emma confirms, "She's in my class, so I'm pretty sure that's her name."
"Well, if you don't ace that project, she must hate you." Lee Jung jokes, making Bada think, "Truth be told, she didn't seem too happy about being my partner either."
"We wouldn't be happy either." "Can't blame her."
They kid around, but Aiki tells the girl, "You better stay on her good side. I'm sure if you don't do the work, she'll find a way to ensure you don't have a shared grade." "True, she's always been partnered with smarter kids, so she's never had an issue, but knowing you? You’re gonna need to play nice girl this time, Bada."
Bada scoffs at Emma's words, "She'll do the work by herself whether she likes it or not. Besides, I'm on everyone's good side." She shows a cocky grin, but Emma and Lee Jung specifically can't help but doubt her. "I don't know about this one. Doesn't seem like an easy girl to get through."
"Nah, have some faith in our girl," Noze says, patting Bada's hip. "Wanna bet on it?" Bada says, with pure confidence backing her up. "I get her to fall for me, and you owe me a month of doing all my assignments." Lee Jung smirks at the girl, "Deal."
"So when are you gonna start?" Noze asks as she eats her chips. "Not sure. Definitely not tonight, though. I'm seeing Redy after practice." All her friends roll their eyes at the girl's name, finding her ignorance ever so bothersome.
The next morning, you find yourself in the same spot as usual and have begun the project already. Bada finds herself looking for you on campus and figures, where do all nerds hang out?
The library.
She makes her way over, and as she enters, she automatically finds you in the corner of the large hall. "Hey there, partner," She greets, and you look at her dead in the eyes, "What are you doing here?" Your tone ached in annoyance.
"Come on, don't be like that. I want actually to try on this project."
"Fine. Let me ask you this first. Why are you even in computer science?" You were straightforward, your serious demeanor never fading. Bada is surprised by your daring question but never trembles, "I just thought it would be interesting." An irked scoff is heard from behind your mask, "Yeah, right," was said with an eye roll. Well, this is gonna be harder than she thought.
"I'm being serious. I wanna earn the grade as well." She whines slightly, and your eyes cry disgust. "Give me your number, and we can work on the project at my house after basketball practice." You grumble and slouch in your chair, and Bada, unconsciously, finds the position adorable as your oversized hoodie collapses on your body, "Sure," is all you mumble, not wanting any more trouble than there already was.
Bada grins as you write your information down on a purple post-it note and shows her excitement when you hand it over to her. You sat there as she left the library, wondering what she had planned for you. It wasn't like Bada to talk to nobodies to "do work." Yet the sooner you had this project done, the better you took her words with a grain of salt, hoping she was being at least a little truthful with her words.
You weren’t one to trust many people’s words, particularly from individuals like Bada, but you knew it had to be done for the sake of your grade. A hefty sigh leaves your body, and you try to go about your day without going too deep into it. During your last period, you feel your phone buzz and read an unexpected message.
Bada Meet me after practice at 5 PM at the gym. I’ll give you a ride so we can work on the project.
The recurring disdain takes over your face again as you read. You hate that you even had contact with the girl, so you just leave her on read as you remind yourself about the meeting. You would just have to wait for her, deciding to go to the school's garden as you let time pass. On the other end of campus, Bada stares at her phone in dismay, “Did she just leave me on read?” She mumbles to herself, and her fellow co-captain hears the uncommon words from the latter’s mouth. “Someone leaving the queen Bada on read? You don’t hear that every day,” Haechi tells the girl, and Bada sneers at the comment. “She’s just playing hard to get for now. Trust, she’ll fall for me by the end of the week.”
“Who is it anyways?” Haechi questions. “Baek Y/n,” she simply states, and the other’s eyes widen. “Like top student Baek Y/n?” Bada looks at her in confusion, “You know her?”
The latter shrugs, “We went to the same high school. She’s a sweet girl,” she adds, and Bada’s curiosity grows. “Sweet? Do you even know what she looks like?” “Nope, but if you care about your grades, she’ll notice and help you, even if you're struggling.”
Haechi was one of the few popular students in university who focused on her grades, so her statement wasn’t so out of the blue. “Know anything else about her?” Haechi briefly considers the inquiry, “She really likes energy drinks, from what I remember. She always drank the blue Monster cans.” But there was a slight hesitation in the co-captin’s voice.
“I know how you are, Bada, so I’m aware I can’t stop you from your plans, but try not to do too much damage to the girl. She’s too precious to be broken by someone like you,” Haechi tells her, and despite the brutal words, Bada doesn’t take it to heart, almost shoving it out of her mind.
“Don’t worry. I won’t.”
The practice continues for hours before Bada notices your small figure sitting on the bleachers, waiting for the little time left. She jogs her way over to you with a bashful smile, “Hey, let me just change, and we can head out.” You just nod, wanting to get out fast, but Haechi’s familiar face has your eyes smiling. “Y/n-nie! Long time no see,” she opens her arms, and you gladly hop down to hug her. Bada watched the interaction, not knowing how to react to this side of you. You looked overjoyed to see the girl, and she may not be able to see your face, but the new energy made her feel a sense of loss.
She didn’t understand why you favored Haechi but not her. They were both tall, popular basketball team captains and had similar recognition in school. The only thing Haechi had over Bada was her straight A’s in classes. Was that the thing that would get you to like her? Bada grumbled at the concept. She wasn’t failing or anything, or else she couldn’t play on the team, but ALL her grades were not close to par with Haechi’s, not even a little bit. When her attention returns to the two of you, she sees you handing a new water bottle to Heachi, who thanks you. “You two seem close,” she tells them, and her co-captain looks at you almost with cherishing eyes. “Y/n’s the best man. Helped me a lot throughout high school,” you wave your hands in denial. “Heachi, you did your best in high school with or without my help. You’re hard-working,” your voice appears in a softer tone. Bada wanted to roll her eyes hard, but she left you two to change.
Bada wasn’t jealous, but maybe being narked was the better way to express her feelings. The girl was the type of person to feel better and superior to everyone else, so the fact that Haechi was already on your good side had her deep in her cycling thoughts. She needed to work hard to get this version of you, and not just with the project.
When she finishes, she tells you to go with her, and you hug Haechi before leaving the court and going to the parking lot with Bada. As she drove, she tried to make some conversation. “You started the project, right?” “Yeah.”
“You might have to teach me a few things so I can actually help.” “Sure.”
“You like computer science?” “Yup.”
That. That was the substance you gave Bada after every question. It made her want to jump out of the moving car, her ego bruised by your one-word replies. She stops trying after 10 minutes, letting the silence overwhelm you two, and you couldn’t have been any happier with the lack of sound. The car pulls up to this large mansion, and you try to hide your awe. This house was huge. Probably being able to hold the capacity of 200 students. “Come on in,” she invites with the large open door.
When you entered, your eyes marveled at the marble architecture, the classical aesthetic being the prominent feature of the house. Bada then leads you to the living room, where you sit timidly on her couch. “Do you want anything to drink?” She asks you as your eyes still wander the house. “Um, I’m ok.”
“Well, let me just change before we start,” you nod, taking out your laptop and notebook, trying to get a bit comfortable for your peace of mind. You pull up the empty website domain with only your school's colors and a sleek banner that takes up a decent amount of the screen. After 10 minutes, Bada returns with gray basketball shorts and a tight wife beater as her top. Your eyes go up and down her figure before focusing on the monitor.
You were honest, and as much as you didn’t understand Bada’s playgirl mentality, you did understand her appeal to the female population in school. Her tall figure, the varieties of colors she’d use on her long hair that cascaded all the way down to her waist, and the hats she wore to hold a sense of mystery were the perfect formula for the way to a girl’s heart.
“So what should I do?” Bada says, sitting beside you, which had you scoot in the opposite direction. “We can split the parts. Professor Min already put up the criteria for the website. I can do the harder stuff like navigation, school history, subjects, majors, and minors.” You tell her as you view the recent handout your professor had put up. “That’s too much, no? All I’d have left is the decorating, department information, and help desk information. Why don’t I help you with the major and minors?” You look at her with bewildered eyes, “You sure? A lot of coding and linking goes into that?” The taller one nods confidently, “You just have to teach me, and I’m sure I’ll be able to do it.” You nod with some hesitation.
“How about we start brainstorming the website's theme, and we can start with the project next week?”
“Sure, but why next week? My practices always end at 5-6 PM, so we should have time.” You shake your head, “it’s not because of you. I'm just gonna be busy with the school council this week.” And Bada looks at you in surprise, “Your part of the school council?”
“Yeah, but I’m just the secretary. Since the sports events are around the corner, I have to oversee everybody and their work,” you explain. Bada feels the admiration brewing inside her. She was aware of your hardworking nature, well, everyone was. You were the top student for a reason, but this put you on a different playing field. On top of your multiple studies, you did your due diligence as a prominent figure on their school council.
“Well, why aren’t you the president?” You scoffed, following a pity laugh, “Bada, I can’t lead anyone to save my life.” She stares at you, not understanding your point, and you take notice. “I might be smart, but that doesn’t mean I have leadership skills.”
“Maybe I can help you,” the tall girl shrugs. She thought she was a good captain for her team, so with that credit, she could give you pointers. “It’s fine. I like my position. I get to help everyone.” The two of you let the time pass as you continued to work on the project before ending the night.
The next few days, you had a lot on your plate. You were running around the school, ensuring all the projects and events were being set up properly, writing reports, and then reporting to the president and vice president about overseeing.
During this time, Bada rarely saw you in class, and she thought about how busy you’d be. You weren’t lying, huh.
But on a Thursday afternoon, you watched the gym setup and saw Bada’s little group chilling on the bleachers. Another student, Doyoung, walks in with papers stacked in his hands. It was all the papers you needed to sign and read through, but a basketball flew in his direction before he could reach you. His head throbs as he drops the papers, and you see Bada’s groupies laughing as Bada yells, “Sorry, Do-ah, the ball slipped out my hands,” she says as she collects the ball and returns to the bleachers. You ran over to the boy, helping him get the papers and helping him up. “Doyoung? Are you okay?” You help the boy up, and he stares at you, dizziness coating his face. You glare at Bada, who catches a glimpse of your raging eyes, and she realizes her fuck up in an instant.
“Come on, let me take you to the nurse,” you say as you grab his arm, wrapping it around your shoulders. “Shit,” Bada says as she watches the two of you leave, you having the stacks of heavy paper sticking out of your bag. “Looks like your timing is off this time,” Noze teases, and Bada thinks she has to make it up to you. She ran out of the gym, trying to catch up to you. She found you settling Doyoung on the nurse's bench as you explained what happened, and to avoid punishment, she waited for you to leave the office before she could talk to you.
Walking out, you make eye contact with the basketball player and scoff at the sight. You tried to walk past her, but she stopped you, pulling your arm, “Y/n, wait.” You rip your arm away, feeling grossed out by her touch. “Did you feel cool?” You bluntly ask, and Bada is taken aback at your tone. “No, that’s not it-”
“Then what is it, Bada? It doesn’t take much to be nice, but it sure does take a lot of energy to be as rude as you.” The disappointment felt like knives to Bada’s heart. It felt like the same judgment she got from her parents, and now you were saying it to her? It made her want to suffocate six feet under. “I just wanted to be funny. I didn’t mean to hurt him. I’m sorry,” she mumbles as her head hangs low. “That apology shouldn’t be for me, asshole. Apologize to Doyoung,” you tell her, leaving her where she stands as you are still much to do. “Doyoung-ah, just text me later when you get home,” the younger boy nods, and you return to your busy day.
“Dude, I apologized to Doyoung yesterday, and she still hasn’t texted me anything about the project,” Bada tells her friends as she paced back and forth. “I don’t see what the big deal is,” Aiki says, and Bada looks at her in distress. “It’s a big deal 'cause I need that A to play in that prelims.”
“Maybe give her something to make it up to her?” Lee Jung suggests that Bada’s eyes grow at her words, remembering Haechi’s words. “The blue Monster,” she gasps, and her friends look at her weirdly as she runs off campus. Bada went to the convenience store, buying a can of Monster energy drink, some cookies, and an egg sandwich. It was early morning, so she knew she’d find you in the library at your usual spot.
Instead of being on your laptop this time, your eyes never left the papers you read and signed. Not even noticing her presence, Bada drops the bag lightly on the desk and pushes it in your direction. You look up, see the girl’s sorry face, and check the inside of the bag. “What’s this?”
“My apology to you for being a dick. I also apologized to Doyoung yesterday, so I’m in the clear.” You roll your eyes and sigh heavily, “Why are you like this, Bada?” Now she was confused, “What do you mean?”
“You're capable of being nice to people like me, so why can’t you do it to others?” Because other people won't help my grade, Bada thought. “I’m not sure,” Bada acts, trying to look ashamed. “But I know I’ll try my best to change,” she says, that confident smile taking place on her face again.
So, during the next few weeks, you worked with Bada. She did her best to show you the better version of herself. Yes, she was acting initially, but as time passed, she got comfortable with the routines. She attended classes earlier, paid attention, participated, and even studied. The week after the altercation, Bada had asked you to tutor her in certain subjects, and you gladly accepted, liking the direction of her change.
So, the two of you sat in her home on a Friday afternoon after school, and you were working on your chemistry assignments. You had become comfortable in the setting after working at her home a few times. “Y/n-ah, help me with this long-ass formula. It's confusing.” You giggle at the pout on her lips and check the screen. “The prefix is hepta- and check out the periodic table for the names.” You point to the table of chemical symbols, and Bada begins to understand the list of prefixes on the coffee table.
You continued your work and studied the current topic you guys were on. Bada looked at you, wondering, “I hope this doesn't make you uncomfortable, but why do you always wear a mask?” You pause, not expecting the surprise question. “It just makes school go by faster. Drama-free too,” you express, and Bada rolls her eyes. “But it’s just you and I here.”
“Doesn’t change the fact that it makes my life easy,” you state. “Look, tomorrow, when you come over for the project, come without the mask, please?” You look at her in confusion, wondering why she was pressing on so much. But seeing her giving you puppy eyes, you reluctantly agreed, “Fine.”
“Great! Now help me with this question, please?” You laugh at her struggle.
The next day, you woke up to prepare for the long day. You took a shower, did your everyday skincare, and ensured you looked presentable. You were much more alert about your looks when you didn't wear the mask. You wanted to feel confident and ensured you did when applying the lip oil and putting your hair in a high ponytail.
You took an Uber to Bada’s place and rang the doorbell. When Bada opens the door, she takes in your appearance. You were out of your uniform for once, and the hairstyle displayed your small face clearly. Bada looks at you fondly, not expecting such a pretty girl to hide behind the mask daily. Even with the glasses on, your eyes looked large, and your heart-shaped lips colored bright pink. The tall girl couldn’t pull her eyes away from your lips. They looked too juicy not to kiss.

“Are you gonna let me in, or should I just stay out here?” Bada shakes her thoughts away and moves to the side. “So you were hiding this the entire time?” She asks as she pats your head, and you swat her hand away. “You practically begged for this.”
“And I’m not complaining,” She continues, staring at you, “go to school like this man.” “Okay, it was one thing asking me to come to your house like this, but school? Never happening.” You tell her, settling your bag down on the couch. “Wait, we should work in my room today. My parents are gonna be home today.”
She leads you into her room, the cool gray walls blinding your eyes. You observe your surroundings, surprised to see the clean room. She puts your bag on the office chair and lets you sit on her bed. You began to talk about what you’ve done on the project, but as you talked, Bada wasn’t even concerned about your words, focusing on your body more. Your outfit made Bada want to have you moaning underneath her, chest rising up and down as you begged for more.
“Bada?” You check on her worryingly. “Yes?” She whispers, still not staring at your face. “Have you done the majors and minors?” “I finished the majors, but I’m still working on the minors,” she tells you, clearly still entranced. “Can you show me?”
“Oh, um, yeah,” She shakes her head and takes her laptop out, showing the work she had completed, and you were visibly pleased with the progress. “This is actually really good. Nice job,” your validation had her heart swelling as your grin held a tint of pride. “Maybe you can finish up the minors today? Just so your work goes by faster.” She nods and checks out all the work you’ve done as well. “You finished all of these? That fast?” She stares at the screen, astonished by the amount of stuff you did the past two weeks. “Anything that needs to be done on a computer, I can do in a quick flash,” you joke, but it holds some sincerity. “I’m trying to be like you, girl,” She comments, and you laugh.
“Let’s do this so we don’t have much left to do next week.” With those words, the two of you worked the entire day. By the next time you checked the time, you realized the hours passed quickly. “Damn, it’s already 4 PM?” This also makes Bada check her phone, “Oh, your right. You want something to eat?” “I wouldn’t mind that actually.”
The two of you enter her kitchen, and Bada heated up some leftover Chinese food she had left in the fridge. Once you guys were eating, Bada tried to get to know you more, finding your presence comforting. “So, Y/n, why do you work so hard in school?” Your mind malfunctions at the question, unsure if you should be honest with the girl. “Um~,” you start, slowly picking at your food. “It’s mainly for my mom. My dad left us for his other family when I was five, and she raised me all by herself. This is the only way to give her a good life after everything she has gone through.” Your voice said with a hint of sadness, and Bada watched your pretty face fall. You wiped away the slight tears that formed. “You’re a good person, Y/n. Never forget that,” She tells you, and you find your heart racing at the words. Bada never had this effect on you, but her words of encouragement made your day.
She was about to continue the conversation, but another tall, more mature woman walked in the room, eyes looking cautiously at the sight of you. “Bada,” she called your partner's name, and you look surprised at Bada’s figure. She straightened herself up, fixing her appearance slightly. “Mother.”
“Who is this?” The older woman’s hand points over in your direction, and before Bada can answer, you decide to try and please the stern woman. “My name is Baek Y/n mam. I’m Bada’s partner for our computer science project. It’s nice to meet you.” You bow at the woman, and her eyebrows raise at your politeness. “Good manners, proper style, pretty face, excellent speaker,” her mom states, as her gaze moves around your body. “You should be more like this, Bada.”
“Mom, not in front of her, please,” Bada’s voice goes small, and you regret speaking up. “What? It’s true. Instead of basketball, you should be a model student. I should thank your teacher for partnering you up with this young woman.”
“I don’t know how we failed to raise you. This is how you should’ve turned out,” The older woman goes to your side, using her two hands to present you as if you were a presentation. Bada’s feelings were in a whirlwind. She wasn’t sure if she could be mad at you, her mom, or just the world. Her mom wasn’t even wrong. You were perfect in every way, and she was the disappointment. Two different worlds were crossing paths, and she was beginning to wish she was partnered with another individual instead of you.
Your eyes grow at her mother’s harsh words, and you shake your head, moving away from the woman. She wasn’t even aware of Bada’s new changes and efforts the last few days, but she belittled her daughter. “Madam, with all due respect-”
“Y/n. Don’t,” The tall girl tells you, with a stern voice, her breathing going shaky. “You right, mother. I’ll do better,” Bada says, head hanging low as she walks past the two of you. “What a dramatic girl,” You hear her mom telling herself, and you do your best not to ridicule the woman. “I’ll go check up on her,” you bow and run up to Bada’s room, finding the door shut. When entering, her back was turned to you as she sat on the edge of her bed. You were about to reach out on her shoulder but halted when you heard the sniffles as they gradually grew heart-wrenching. You rush to Bada’s side without any reluctance, pulling her into a hug. The warmth engulfing Bada had her break down instantly, never having anyone hold her as you did. Your eyes teared up at the sounds of her hyperventilating, her grip on your shoulder becoming tighter.
You then thought this was such a common occurrence for Bada. She put up this facade in school, wanting the attention of other women, and finally understood where it all stemmed from. Bada just wanted to feel loved and longed for, but with a household like this, it felt so hard to even ask for. She shouldn’t even have to ask. It was her mother, after all.
“Bada, you’re doing your best. Don’t let your mom’s words take that away from you.” You whisper as you rub her back, “If you ever want to talk, you can always talk to me.”
Bada begins to calm down at your words, the shakiness in her voice fading away. “Thank you, Y/n-ah.” She whispers, leaving her head on your shoulders. She wavers and asks, “Can you come to my game on Friday?”
“Of course. I’ll be your personal cheerleader,” you quip, in a shot to make her feel better, which works when a cheesing smile forms on her face. “You’d only cheer for me?” “Maybe for Haechi as well,” you tease, and she hits your arm with a pout. “Okay, ouch. I’ll cheer for you only, damn. No need to get violent on me.” Bada laughs at your words.
You try to stray from the topic, but you can’t help but ask, “Does she talk to you that way all the time?” Bada sighs, “Yeah, basically every time she’s home.” The lightbulb in your head flickers when she says, “My house may not be as extravagant as yours, but how about we work on the project on my house on Tuesday? I’ll send you my address, and you can come over after practice,” Bada’s eyes shined at the proposal. “I’d be honored.”
So the following Tuesday, you come home and relax on your bed before deciding to take a shower, feeling the stickiness of your sweat getting to you. You changed into a large baby pink shirt and some pajama shorts. Deciding to get a head start, you started your other assignments before Bada could get there. You worked on your easy English paper as you waited for the time to pass and heard the doorbell. Your eyes checked the time, and seeing 6 PM, you already knew who it was. You open the door to find Bada changed into gray sweatpants, an oversized hoodie, and one of her iconic hats covering her head. “Well, Miss Bada, welcome to my humble abode,” you say, welcoming her in. Bada’s eyes roam around, taking in the simplicity of the house, finding it shocking as she took a liking to it. “It feels… homey,” She mumbles, and you pat her shoulder. “I have more space in my room. Let’s work there.”
Bada’s eyes wander to your exposed thighs when going up the stairs. They looked so thick and plump. Bada, never realizing the build of your body, wanted to grip your thighs until they were turning red. Once you let her into your sacred space, Bada sees the tiny potted plants you kept, shelves full of books, your desk looking organized, and your twin-sized bed and pillows wrapped in a light purple set.
“So I have the navigation and research of the school's history. I might leave that research for next week to work on other subjects today.” Bada nods, settling on your bed and opening her laptop, “What other assignments do you have to do?”
“I’m trying to finish my English paper and then study for next week’s Chemistry exam.” “CHEM EXAM?” Bada yells, startling you into a jump. “Yes, Bada, chemistry exam.” Bada rubs the back of her neck, “Can you help me study?” You smile at her, “Of course.” The two of you finished the topics you agreed to do today, and Bada explained that she only had the decorating left. “Y/n?” You hear a voice coming from downstairs, and you smile, “Yes, mom?”
“Did you and your friend eat yet?” Bada is bewildered at the foreign voice. Your mom knew she was here? “We haven’t yet!” You voice out as you put your hair up in a messy bun. “Come down and eat. I made some mandu and kimchi jiigae,” Bada’s eyes brightened at the names of the food. You giggle at her face and pull her into the kitchen with you. Bada makes eye contact with your mom, and the woman gasps. “Y/n, you didn’t tell me how beautiful your friend was.”
“Mom, stop~,” you whine as you give her a welcoming hug. Bada smiles at your relationship with your mom. It is the exact opposite of what she was used to. “Let me help you with setting up the table?” Your mom handed you the plates and utensils, “get comfortable, Bada. You’re about to eat some of the best food ever,” You tell the tall girl, trying to tease your mom, who laughs at your comment. “Come on, sweaty, sit down,” Your mom tells the basketball player as she puts both dishes at the center of your table.
“How was school you two?” Bada almost chokes on her first bite of food as your mom asks, not used to the motherly love. “Oh dear, here, have some water, darling,” Your mom pours a glass as you pat Bada’s back. “I’m sorry. Um, school was alright, thank you for asking,” Bada says, mumbling, and you smile pityingly at your mom. “Same mom, nothing new.”
“That’s good!” She finishes, letting you all eat in peace. “Have you rested this past week, Y/n?” You grin at your mom’s question, “You know I try and stop doing work an hour before I go to bed, Mom.” “That doesn’t count.”
You sigh, “Don’t worry. I plan to go to Bada’s game on Friday, so I’ll take a break then.” Your mom gets excited, “Really? Good luck with your game. I hope you guys win!” Your mom was joyful, even with what had happened in the past, which made her your hero. “I hope we win too, Ms. Baek,” Bada gives an appreciating smile. “Oh, please call me mom. Any friend of Y/n can call me Mom. She rarely has any friends, so,” Your mom whispers her ending statement, and you roll your eyes at her. “Can we not expose Y/n? Thanks,” You say, pointing to yourself. The two smile at your gesture, and Bada teases you, “She’s not wrong.”
“Look at what you started, Mom!”
After you ate and studied with Bada, it was already 9 PM as you walked her out of your house. “You’re mom is the sweetest person on Earth,” Bada says, a sense of peace taking over her as she held the bag of food your mom had packed for her. “I know,” you giggle, knowing how your mom was. She accepted everyone and anyone as long as they treated you and her kindly.
“Thank you, Y/n. You’ve been helping me so much recently, and I don’t know how to pay you back,” she says, bringing you into the tightest hug. Your chest pounded, feeling a new overwhelming feeling of emotions. You knew that you and Bada had become closer in the past few weeks, but now you blushed at her touch, making you nervous.
There was no way you were starting to like her, right? You believed Bada was changing for the better. She had stopped flirting with so many girls, focused more on school, and acted as a more proper captain for her team. That’s what you thought, at least.
It was Thursday morning, before Bada’s game, and she was chilling on her hour break with the rest of her friends. “How has the project been going?” Emma asks with genuine interest. “It’s actually really good,” She simply states, and her friends stare at each other, unsure of how to go about her answer. “You remember our deal, right?” Lee Jung asks the taller, reminding her of her words two weeks ago. “Of course, I do,” Bada’s words felt like a harsh smack to the face. Her statement simmered in her mind like she was lying to herself.
Bada knew she was changing, and whether she would like to admit it or not, the thought scared her. It was because of you and only you. She was never meant to go this deep or even this far with your friendship. She couldn’t help herself, though. She shared tears with you, personal issues her friends didn’t even know about, and even bonding with your own mother. Feeling like a brand new person, Bada felt liberated and accomplished. Lately, she thought she could stick up to her parents, defending herself from their judgmental words. Last night, during their family dinner, Bada’s mother and father had some words for her again. “Bada, your grades better be good this semester, or you’ll be sent to military school.” Her father tells her in an eerie, monotone voice. Bada looks at them, sensing betrayal. “Do you guys even love me?” “What kind of question is that?” Her mom gazes at the girl, the cold look never leaving her gaze. “You haven’t even noticed the effort I’ve been putting in the last few days. Everything I do is never enough for the both of you.” Bada’s parents were taken aback at their daughter's sudden outburst. “Maybe if you were putting this much energy before, we wouldn’t have to say anything to you,” her father points out. “It’s because of that Y/n girl. I should thank her for you.” Bada grumbles at the authority, not wanting to hear the same crap repeatedly. “I understand I may not have been the best child. Trust me, I know. But maybe if you two showed even the tiniest bit of compassion and love, I wouldn’t have turned out this way.” That statement had both her parents shut up, letting her words brew in their minds.
“Bada,” she hears your voice, pulling her out of her thoughts, and everyone looks at you. Your eyes looked at them weirdly as they looked surprised at your presence. “Are you free on Sunday? I have things to do on Saturday, but we can probably finish the project by the end of this week.” She smiles at you, “No problem, we only have a little to go anyways. It shouldn’t take that long.”
“Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow then,” you wave off, and Bada’s friends sat there, frozen at the exchange. “That might be the first time I’ve ever heard her voice,” Aiki says, hypnotized by your sweet voice. “I might have to snatch her up from you, Bada.” Noze kids, but Bada looks at her with stone-cold eyes, “No.”
Her friends sit there, unknowingly triggering something inside the tall girl. “It was just a joke, Bada, chill.” Lee Jung tells her as she shakes her head.
Emma looks at her, eyes growing at the assumption, “Are you falling for the girl?” Bada instantly looks at her like she’s crazy, “I just want to finish this project before you guys try anything,” she says, saving herself.
Being oblivious to Bada’s words, you were excited about her game tomorrow. Your outfit was planned. You had snacks and a Gatorade for Bada to drink during her match. Since Tuesday night, Bada had been running on your mind constantly, and you weren’t sure how to handle your feelings. It was the first time you were hardcore crushing on someone, and this project made it challenging to contain your emotions. Her presence, attention, and beauty had you fixated. Since this was a first for you, you wanted to slow it down, trying to navigate it as you went.
So when game day finally came, you wore your hair up in a sleek ponytail and wore an extra jersey that Bada had given you with the number 22. You paired it with some simple Air Forces and ripped baggy jeans. Keep up the mysterious facade. You had your black mask covering the lower half of your face. Everyone stared at you as you sat on the court, wondering what your relationship was with their school’s basketball captain. You only kept your eyes down, not enjoying the amount of attention you were getting.
Bada comes out from the locker room in full uniform and her eyes find your body, and an unconscious smile takes over her face. You looked adorable in the oversized jersey, and Bada just wanted to run up and hug you, but the game was starting soon, and the team had to warm up.
You space out, but the loud blaring of the alarm shocks you out of it. As a book-believing student, you weren’t familiar with the rules or how the sport worked, but Bada made it worthwhile. Bada was noticeably agile and had a massive amount of stamina compared to everyone on the court. As you watched and cheered after her every shot, a blonde girl noticed your attire. A scowl and a look of disgust replaced her cheers. You weren’t even aware of her, focusing on the tall girl the entire time.
When half-time took place, you handed Bada the drink you had prepared for her. Smiling at your gesture, she thanked you and sipped as their coach spoke to them.
The game started again, and as the timer was hitting the last few seconds, the score stood at 86-87, the score slim to the tee. Your heart beats anxiously as you watch Bada maneuver through the court. Haechi had passed the ball to her co-captain, and at 5 seconds, Bada had taken her chance at a three-pointer, and everyone held their breath as the ball spun around the rim. So when the ball fell in at the last second, all your school's students jumped and cheered at the epic finale. Bada looks over at you again, seeing your proud eyes on her. She blew a kiss at you, and you giggled as she celebrated with her team.
“Hey,” you hear her voice and turn around to see her sweaty figure, as her cheesing grin never leaves her face. “Wait for me at the parking lot? I’ll give you a ride home.” She offers, and you nod, pulling down your mask, not wanting to hide your thrilled face. “You were amazing out there, Bada.” The sincerity of your voice made Bada weak to her knees, and she felt giddy inside. “Thanks. I’ll see you in a bit, okay?” You nod, leaving the gym to the parking lot, where you wait, sitting on a bench. When Bada watches you go, she feels the butterflies in her stomach and stands there terrified. The girl started falling for you, the feelings piling up since your first study session. This couldn’t be happening. Bada’s pride wouldn’t let it happen, so she had to do something about it fast.
20 minutes had passed, and Bada still hadn’t come out. Worrying began to fill your mind. You kept checking your phone every minute, and the same anxiety overtook you. You decided to look for her, which honestly didn’t take long. You turned the corner of your school's building. You saw two figures holding each other tightly as they enthusiastically made out with each other.
Due to the darkness of the night, you squinted at the sight, but as it became clear, your heart broke into a million pieces, feeling like it was now dust. It was Bada and another girl. They pull away from each other, breathing heavily, and you hide behind the corner you turned from. “What about that other girl?” The unfamiliar voice asks. “What other girl?” “The girl wearing your jersey?” You swallowed lightly, your chest becoming heavy in your current position. “She’s no one, baby. Don’t worry about it. She was just a little bet.” You hear her, and you sob in silence, walking away from the detrimental scene that just occurred right in front of you.
You sit at the curb, staring at the stars, and laugh at yourself, “You’re so stupid, Y/n. So stupid,” you mumble, the tears getting harder to contain as Bada’s words repeat in your mind. Of course, you were just a bet for her. You were just another girl added to her collection, and it made you fall into despair. She cried to you and opened up, yet you were just another girl. You hit your head lightly in frustration with yourself. “Y/n?”
You jolt up from your spot, wiping your staining tears away, and turn around to find Haechi, who looks at you worried. “You okay?” You nod with a deep breath and huff, “Yeah, just feeling down right now. No biggy,” you try saving yourself, but the cracks in your voice tell the girl otherwise. “What are you still doing here-” She was about to ask but realized what may have happened since she saw Bada walking out with some blonde student from her Physics class. Haechi’s face was now painted sorrowfully, engulfing you in a hug. Her touch had triggered the waterworks again, and you were now crying again, breaths getting weaker when each tear dropped. “I’m so fucking stupid, Haechi. I hate her. I hate her so much,” the tall girl rubs your back, letting you release your anger and sadness. “Don’t say that Y/n-nie, you’re the smartest girl in school. Bada is just… ruthless.” Haechi states, some rage hiding under her voice. She had warned Bada, and the captain still went against her word. “I’m like every other girl, Haechi.”
The tall girl pulls away, shaking her head furiously, “No. No, you’re not. Come on, let me take you home.” You nod, too tired to say anything and sit in Haechi’s car, taking a nap on the way home as you wasted so much energy.
Bada was now trying to look for you everywhere, not noticing how long she took, keeping you waiting.
Bada Y/n? Where are you?
She waited for a response, but it never came. She began to worry but let the win of her game control her mind. An hour later, she was home, and you just got back to her.
Y/n-ah😚 My mom wanted me to go home early. Sorry.
Bada sighed in relief. At least you were safe at home. She was about to respond, but you texted her again.
Y/n-ah😚 About the project, don’t worry about it. I’m finishing it tonight and sending it to Professor Min tomorrow morning.
The tall girl furrows her brows.
Bada Are you okay?
Y/n-ah😚 Splendid.
Safe to say, Bada was terrified at your one-word answers. She felt back at square one, but little did she know she wasn’t even close. Not anymore.
The next time Bada saw you, you were both in school, and she approached you with your favorite drink. “My payment for last week,” she says, handing the drink to you, and you dismiss the interaction instantly. “I’m good,” you tell her and just walk away. Bada stares at you in confusion and is about to go after you but sees you standing at Haechi’s locker. From afar, her co-captain seemingly handed you a blue Monster can, and you hug the girl, thankfully. The interaction had Bada bothered and angry. You took Haechi’s drink but not hers?
She would talk to you about it one way or another, but she couldn’t find you the entire day. The fact that you didn’t have computer science today didn’t help the matter. So Bada decided to talk to you at your house. The rain began to pour, but it wasn’t stopping her from finding out what was wrong. She rang the bell at your gate, unsure if you were home, but when you opened the door, a glimmer of hope sparked until you spoke. “Go home, Bada.”
“What?” “I said go home,” your monotone voice made her want to hide. “Y/n, talk to me, please?” “Why should I?” She looks at you in shock. “What happened?”
“You wanna know so bad?” You walk up to the gate, anger fueling your eyes. Not even caring about the pouring weather. “Somehow, me being the smartest girl in school means nothing when it comes to you.”
Bada didn’t say a word, not knowing where this conversation was going. “Congrats, Bada, you made the top student in school look like the most mindless person in the world.” Bada’s eyes widen, “what do you mean-”
“Oh, don’t act stupid.” You groan and look at her with eyes of disgust. Bada sunk into the thought. She was back to square one. “I seriously don’t understand-” “You don’t understand sucking off another girl’s face while I waited for you in the parking lot? God, when I thought there was progress in your thought process these past few weeks, but I guess I was wrong.”
That’s what froze Bada, her heart dropping at the statement. You saw and heard everything. Bada only wanted to beg for forgiveness right then and there, but she knew she had no right to. It's not like you were gonna accept it anyway. “Y/n I-”
“Just save it, Bada. You don’t have to explain yourself. I get it. I’m just another girl, right? Or what was it you told blondie? A bet?” Bada had no words to save herself, wanting the ground to swallow her whole in shame. “Forget about it, Bada, forget we were ever friends.” You left the conversation at that, slamming the front door behind you. That’s when you broke down. The crying just couldn’t stop, kneeling on the floor of your home as the dreadful silence filled your ears as you heard the heavy rain and thunder pouring outside the windows. For once, you hated the silence.
The next day, Bada wanted to try and apologize again. She looked and looked, not finding you anywhere on campus. She then looks for her second-best bet and sees her standing with her friends. “Haechi!” Bada runs up to the girl as she waves her friends off. Her co-captains eyes held frustration, and it told Bada she also knew the situation. “Do you know where Y/n is?” “Why? So you can break her even more?” Bada knew to expect this, but she wasn’t expecting to be cornered by the girl who shoved her into the lockers.
“I fucking told you, Bada, but what Bada wants, Bada gets, right?” Haechi’s pointer finger drilled into her chest, and the captain winced in pain. “I-I wanna make it right.” “Too fucking late.”
Bada’s body ignores the pain at her words, “What do you mean?” Haechi looks at the girl whose eyes began to water slightly. “She’s leaving for the States. The school gave her an internship for 5 months.” Bada’s world crumbles, and she takes out her phone, sending you multiple messages.
Bada Y/n, I’m sorry. Please don’t go. It was a mistake. I was stupid. I was falling for you, and I was scared. Y/n?
Bada’s tears were uncontrollable as they fell, reading how her messages weren’t sending. “Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.” Bada was now beating herself up in the middle of the hallway. She was hitting her head hard with her fist, pulling her hair harshly, and everyone who saw looked at her in worry. Haechi was shocked at the girl’s actions, seeing how bad she genuinely felt. She did her best to pull Bada’s arms away, and Bada slid down to the floor, blubbering as Haechi did her best to stop the girl from hurting herself. “I’m so fucking stupid, Haechi.” Her teammate didn’t know how to respond, just holding Bada’s arms down as she cried her pain away.

ENTRY #1: THE DENIZENS J:\\ THE MAKER \\\\
>> Jay. a 5’8, 17 (now 18) year old boy (when he feels like) with tan skin, wearing a black hoodie with a green “87” on it, grey sweatpants, and black shoes, under his hood lies a led visor displaying green animated eyes. He runs an arcade, overseen by a plague doctor suit made out of keyboard symbols, it has a parasitic relationship with his soul that enhances his ego. he runs an arcade as a front to gain more power to cut the strings of fate the gods have cast upon him.
[ jay speaks like this. ]
Jay, he found his way into a mysterious world occupied by a lone plague doctor, a beast who wore a mask of violet, the first ever "text doctor", at least, that's what he called himself, the plague doctor made out of... ASCII symbols? His name was Screech (@the-text-doctor), they got to know each other, the beast was wiser, older, had a family and most of all? POWER. Jay eventually stumbled onto a stray portal, and found a dimension with a lone arcade in it. It was empty, abandoned. It was quiet at first. Then the trials began with new technology Jay founded. His suit. A green, distorted form of the plague doctor made of symbols he met from days before. it was a beast forever crying emerald tears.. It took over the dimension. Slowly at first, but then rapidly, the floors turned black, the walls turned a dark shade of green, the arcade grew, seemingly floating. It was all falling into place. J:\\ THE SUIT \\\\ A green plague doctor made out of ASCII symbols, slashes make up his limbs and torso, and tear streaks fall down his mask. His left arm is corrupted heavily, with claws made of black triangles. He also has one corrupted wing made out of corrupted textures and glitch artifacts, on his chest lies a dark green mantle with two mirroring "J"s. His belt is made of square brackets and equal signs. This suit was made a host of the place it is now known for, but also to fight, and fight it does, it would be unwise to pick a fight with it in it's unnatural habitat.
thanks to @just-hyper-active for jotette's neck fluff [ J:\\ JOTA SPEAKS LIKE THIS. ] [ ♀J:\\ JOTETTE SPEAKS LIKE THIS. ]
The suit, when worn, made him agitated, angry, violent, egotistical, envious, and any other sense of the words, so much so that it took over his very soul, encasing it in a green hue, and wings, ever since, everyone wanted that exotic, digitized soul for themselves. The Jotette side grade makes Jay feels as if he's the prettiest thing on two legs, still as pyschopathic.
It was perfect for what he needed. He's been researching other worlds for a while, so they were next, but until then? He needed somewhere to cover up his research... the arcade would do just fine. He'd get to lounge around all day, and work on gaining more strength by night. Eventually, he opened the arcade, and attracted quite a crowd. He didn't feel much for them, just lambs to the slaughter, he thought. but eventually he grew fond of some of his visitors, some he loved seeing, some less so. his power grew... but he needed more. He eventually found other worlds, more creatures like his suit, “text doctors” as he calls them, more forms to take, more things to assimilate into his growing matrix of code and hate. J:\\ THE LESSER GODS \\\ In the world of digital evils known only by "EXEs", there lie creatures who couldn't get their hands on the vessels everybody knows them for, Sonic, Mario, Pac-Man, the like. These creatures have been festering inside unknown and uncared for video games, i.e one-off titles or edutainment games. They all think the ranks of Sonic.EXE have it too easy since they have more recognizable vessels, so they've decided to form in gangs of sorts, Jay has felt pity for them, and built a refuge for some of them called Circuitboard City. ENTRY #2: THE DIMENSION, THE BOARDER BETWEEN THE PHYSICAL AND DIGITAL REALMS
J:\\ OUTSIDE \\\\ A vast, black expanse, adorned with grid-patterned green lines and shrouded mountains that conceal Circuitboard City. Green floating stairs serve as the arcade entrance, the space under the arcade leading to an underground subway entry point for access to Circuitboard City.
J:\\ SUBWAY \\\\ The Subway, a dark green and somewhat dirty underground passage, links the arcade to the wonders of Circuitboard City, some Lesser Gods have taken refuge here as opposed to Circuitboard City.
J:\\ CIRCUITBOARD CITY \\\\
helped by @just-hyper-active The cyber-city sprawls beyond the mountains, initially visible like a distant skybox. However, the true nature of this place is revealed when you journey there through the Subway, unlocking Circuitboard City in it's fullest. Jay shelters Lesser Gods amidst the skyscrapers, surrounded by advertisements for JOTA's Arcade.
J:\\ ARCADE INTERIOR \\\\ Inside the arcade, a surreal extension of JOTA's twisted yet whimsical persona unfolds with moving wall patterns and nonsensical floors. Rows of cabinets, a prize corner, and a maintenance room entrance mark the journey. As one ascends towards JOTA's office, the rooms defy Euclidean logic, with unconventional door placements, and other such glitchy mishaps.
J:\\ HALLWAY \\\\ A simple hallway stretching to both the left and right of the office. J:\\ MYSTICS ROOM \\\\ A room where Jay's been studying various deities and other such creatures, such as Zalgo, Screech, and more. This room is to the left of the office hallway.
J:\\ JOTA'S OFFICE \\\\ JOTA's office, a dark green room adorned with silver accents. A faux bird rug lies in the center, and a dark green desk bears a lunatic's scribbles. Nearby stands a simple polygon statue of a pixelated emerald-textured plague doctor. Wall sketches depict a green heart with expansive wings and stylized plague doctors drawn from simple lines and shapes. Above, a mounted skull with a "GAME OVER - JOTAPHOBIA" plaque completes the room.
J:\\ JAY'S BEDROOM \\\\ Jay's bedroom, features a beanbag bed, the sole Sega Genesis in the arcade ever since a run-in with Sonic.EXE himself, Sonic posters, and invisible ink-laden posters of the other text doctors, the Cade Crew, and Jay himself. The dark green room houses a simple stand with drawers, holding obscure games, and a basic TV. This room is to the right of the office hallway.
J:\\ JOTA'S THRONE \\\\ On the main floor, JOTA's throne, a giant green chair, stands amidst corrupted textures and computer parts, adorned with a "GAME OVER" banner. J:\\ SUIT JUNGLE \\\\ Behind the curtains of the throne room lies the enigmatic Suit Jungle, featuring towering, unreachable arcade cabinets and one of them stands far above the rest, displaying myriad copies of JOTA's suit, glaring at whoever roams by, amid twisted metal trees and digital leaves, static falls like water and error messages are the closest thing to clouds, more copies of the suit are found crawling around, acting as birds, glitching green messages, seemingly written by Jay himself adorn the place's floors and walls.
the voices I have for all of my anons unless said otherwise: https://tts.cyzon.us EXE
Jay first encountered Sonic.EXE, also known as "X," during an event called Incident X. This voidspawn manifested itself as Sonic and attempted to claim Jay's soul. The encounter took place fashionably late at JOTA's arcade, following the Halloween EXE Takeover in 2023. Since then, X has been engaging in periodic battles with Jay's suit.
X derives pleasure from toying with human souls, leaving Jay concerned about how long he can keep the entity amused before facing potential death. In the aftermath of the incident, Jay discovered the existence of other entities similar to X, collectively referred to as The Lesser Gods or The X Underlings.

Winx Season 9/Reboot Leaks
Okay here's the tea: earlier today a twitter user by the name of Cataclysm_Power started posting a video they claimed was from the new Winx season/reboot. When pressed for further information, they linked to a telegram chat with what appeared to be assets from Rainbow (17 screenshots/2 videos). After some C-grade internet sleuthing, I am here to give my (worthless and possibly wrong) opinion on which ones I think are real and fake.
A note before we jump in: I'm not posting full images on my blog, because again I do think some of these are real and if the leaker is to be believed, they hacked Rainbow to get them. You can look yourself through the telegram link, or others who've posted them on the Winx Club tag. I also think the leaker themselves is scammy because they've tried charging for Miraculous leaks before. Do NOT give them any money if they ask.
Real: Bloom, Stella, and Icy's asset sheets, Bloom Full Body Pose
A lot of these leaks are 3d modelling assets, and these 3 are the ones I'm totally convinced are real.

The biggest clue of their validity is the bottom banner. All 3 sheets have them, along with the same episode code and notes in Italian. They're all also linked to the same person: Pasqualino Masciulli is Rainbow's 3D modelling supervisor, and has been with the company for at least 9 years. He's done videos on Rainbow's youtube channel as well, using his shortened first name Lino. My main point is that's way too niche for someone to fake just to make some convincing leaks, and it would make sense for the assets to be tied to him.
Likewise, there's a full-body frame post of Bloom with fucking ugliest denim leg warmers credited to a g.riccobono. This is likely Giulio Riccobono, who is listed on Linkedin Italy as a Rainbow employee.

Probably Real: Tecna's asset sheet, Bloom's detailed asset sheet
Both of these are likely real but have weird things about them that make me pause. Bloom's more detailed asset sheet is missing the name, date and episode reference on it, and the notes are in English. Tecna's is missing the bottom banner entirely, and there's some weird cutting around her head that makes it look like someone hastily made a png and stuck it on there.
Unsure: Computer File Tab, MD Concept Photos, Videos
There's a screenshot of a folder with both 2D and 3D assets of all the girls. in the files. I'm not sure if this is from a computer at Rainbow or the hacker's personal folder, so it goes in unsure. I do think most of the assets in it are real - it's low res but the eyes on the 2D sketches are so similar to the ones on Rainbow's newer images of the girls I think they have to be connected.
There are also some full body concept photos for Bloom, Aisha, and Stella. They all look pretty legit (as they're updated version of images we've already seen) but Stella's has other images for 'possible pallets' included. She's the only one with it and the images look like they came from a flash dress-up game, and it gives me pause.

Lastly, the teaser videos of Bloom are probably real based on the outfit, animation and that stupid fucking Bloom shelf being in the background, but I'm placing it in 'unsure' because of the bandicam.com logo burned into the top. If it really came from Rainbow and everything else was downloaded, there was no reason for the hacker to not get the raw file. I think it's real, but I don't know if it came from Rainbow.
Something Ain't Right: Group Shot
What gives me pause in the fully-rendered group shot (even though its shown in the computer file tab) is it shows transformation we haven't seen teased and has a 'Lorem Ipsum' placeholder text. Aisha's hair also looks like it was done with AI - the back of her wings clip through the hair, and parts of it look copy-pasted. I'm stupid, it's the end of her braids. The 'Lorem Ipsum' thing still stands, but I'm re-filing this under 'unsure.'
Probably Fake: Darcy and Damien's asset sheets

I'm showing things from here on out because I'm so convinced it's fake please let me be right. Unlike the other character sheets, the ones for Darcy and 'new character' Damien have no bottom banner, are marked as 'Winx Club Season 9' with an outdated Winx logo, and have notes written completely in English. Darcy's has a bit of 3D modelling, but it's too different from Icy's. Maybe they're super early concepts for Darcy, but Damien...go home, buddy.
You're in the Wrong Place: Rainbow Pants Girl

I'm convinced this girl is from a different show and was saved to the 'Winx Club' folder by accident. Different clothing, hair, and shading. May you end up somewhere better than this reboot, Mystery Girl.

Class 1-A x flirty reader
18 plus blogs DNI
He hated you at first, you wet just some extra trying to be a hero. But when you openly flirted him…you were teasing him weren’t you.
He would always try to get you to lose or beat you up.
It went like that for the first half of the semester. It didn’t change until you beat you him, or well tied with him.
Bakugou was flying after you, the rest of these extras weren’t worth his time. He just needed to beat you then he’ll care about the rest. Oh what he would to see you in last place.
“Geez Kats, I knew I made you feel something but running after me? That’s something I wouldn’t think you would do.”
“ SHUT UP AND DIE!”
With a smirk in you face you jumped up and tackled him to the floor.
He never forgot the fight but he actually started treating you like a human being.
He would tell you to stop flirting with, him but he loves it.
If he sees you flirt with someone else he’s killing then. Simple as that.
But that also made him realize that he likes you. And he’ll confess but will also get teased by everyone else in the class.
When you win a fight he just smirks and shows off to everyone.
“Bakugou clam down we know you got them!”
“Shut up weird hair! You’re just jealous.”
He was taken aback when you flirted with him on the first day. He was just trying to tell you to sit properly when you made an…inappropriate comment. It took him a few minutes before he told you to not flirt at school and pay attention to your study’s.
He’ll always tell you to pay attention and you always flirt back.
Can’t help but to feel bad when you flirt with someone else.
He finally confessed when you were both at the dorms.
You opened your dorm room to see Iida standing there. You smirked and leaned against the door frame, watching him get flustered.
“[Name], I ask you to go out with me in a romantic way and that I’ll treat you right. With your parents permission of course.
Still lectures you on flirting in class.
He secretly enjoys it so you two can study together.
If you fall behind in class he’ll help you!
He has no doubt that you would lose a fight, he knows you! Even if you lose you two can go on a training date.
Though that’s how normal people talked.
But quickly figures out that you’re flirting.
Once she finds out she’ll buy you expensive gifts. That’s her way of flirting.
Get flustered all the time but will go along with it.
“You know Momo…I don’t really need these gifts.”
Her smile dropped at that. Did you not like it, did you not like her?
“It’s a gift just seeing you everyday”
Blushing mess 24/7
Will help you with everything
Basically your housewife. She cooks, helps you study, help you fight.
Hates going up against you in fights, she doesn’t want to hurt you.
Aziawa was announcing the teams for todays fighting lessons. “Team 3 against team 9.”
Momo froze. She doesn’t want to fight you nor does she want to see you hurt. Although, she’s doesn’t want her grade to suffer…oh no.

It’s me @ratf13nd making yet another blog to yap about my ocs!
This one’s for my oc Zack (and I will also probably talk about his girlfriend Violet here a lot too because she is very important to his story.)
Also please send me asks I love to yap about this guy.
CW: this blog will contain topics of violence, gore, death, experimentation, etc!
Alright so let’s get into it:
Birth name: Matteo Giovanni Marino
Changed name to Zack Ryan Bars when he was 9 years old.

Backstory:
Early Life/Childhood:
Zack was born as Matteo Giovanni Marino on December 5th, 2000 in Brooklyn to Italian-American parents Vincent and Giovanna Marino. He is the second of four children, he has an older brother, Dominic (26), and twin younger siblings Antonio (Tony) and Maria (15). Zack’s dad was a mob boss, causing Zack to grow up around a lot of violence. When Zack was 9, his mom had enough and moved her kids away and had their names changed. Zack was the only one who really stuck with the new name as Dominic moved back with his dad after dropping out of high school. As Zack got older, he hated Dominic because his father would constantly compare Dom to him– and that infuriated Zack. He had no intentions of joining his father’s crime family like Dominic had done.
Zack grew up Catholic and went to Catholic school until 8th grade. He lost the faith as he entered his teenage years and realized that God is never going to answer his prayers. Still, he finds it hard to let go of. Sometimes, if he has a really bad episode, he finds himself praying, even though he knows nothing is out there listening to him.
Relationship with Violet:
Zack met Violet when they were 16. They both went to the same highschool and shared an English class. Zack thought about asking her out for weeks, but was always too scared or nervous to talk to her. While staying late at school one day, he noticed three guys picking on Violet and knew he couldn’t just ignore it. He got suspended for a week after getting into a fight with them, but he thought it was worth it. Zack asked Violet out that evening after giving her a ride home and they have been dating ever since. He loved Violet and would do anything for her, but his protectiveness over her causes him to make some bad decisions down the line.
ANTICHRIST:
Zack played drums in a metal band called ANTICHRIST in high school and college. The band is composed of Zack Bars (drums), Tyler Cambell (vocals, occasional rhythm guitar), Trey Wilson (lead guitar), and Derek Brooks (bass). The four of them formed the band when they were in 8th grade. They all went to the same Catholic school together and had been friends since elementary school. They all got expelled in 8th grade for messing with a ouija board in the bathroom while skipping class and getting Trey to fake a demonic possession during mass. ANTICHRIST as a band is inspired by Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Bad Omens, and Motionless In White.
After Violet’s accident:
Zack freaked out after Violet got struck by lightning. He was terrified that she wasn’t going to wake up and he’d lose her forever. When she started showing that she had powers while in a coma, he panicked and almost convinced himself that the past few weeks had just been a dream. When Violet’s dad (Stan Williams) showed up and offered Zack a job, he took it because he thought it would be the only way to keep her safe. While working for Stan, he was given the name Hawk and would be sent on various missions by Stan, where he started making some enemies. Zack lost his right arm due to an explosion on a mission and was given a metal arm two weeks after. He hated it at first, but got used to it after a while. Zack started killing people after he took the job. All of his kills before Violet woke up were orders from Stan. The first few times he killed, he broke down afterwards, but the more people he killed and the more he was experimented on made him treat every kill as just a job.
Experimentation:
Violet’s dad expressed to Zack that he wanted to study Violet’s powers more. Zack knew that meant he wanted to experiment on her and there was no way in hell Zack was letting that happen. He made a deal with Stan and said that he would let Stan experiment on him all he wants, but he can only help Violet learn to control her powers. So, Zack was put through months of intense experimentation as Stan slowly turned him into a weapon. His memory became fuzzy and he just felt either numb or angry all the time. From the experimentation, Zack gained superhuman strength as well as faster reflexes than the average person. What Zack learned later was that Stan secretly experimented on Violet while she was in a coma and found a way to extract some of her power, which he then put into Zack.
Death:
Zack knew he was being turned into a weapon and it was only a matter of time before he lost everything. His biggest fear was that he would lose his mind and end up hurting Violet. He hatched a plan to help her escape, but he knew he wasn’t going to make it out alive– at least, he hoped he wouldn’t make it out alive. In his mind, dying was his way of keeping Violet safe from himself. Violet eventually found out about the experimentation done on Zack and he decided to get her out of there that night. During the escape, Zack was shot in the left arm and right thigh and told the soldiers trying to help him to get Violet out and leave him. Violet protested, but he told her that it’s for the best and he loves her. Zack then confronted Stan and after a brief conversation, Stan told Zack that he doesn’t need him alive to continue the experiments and shot Zack in the head.
Resurrection:
What Zack didn’t know before dying was that Stan had been conducting other experiments involving bringing people back to life. Stan had tried turning Zack into a full-blown weapon while he was alive, but was getting nowhere. He had put off killing Zack until he could get Violet out of the way, but when Zack confronted him, he took the opportunity to get it over with and kill him. When Zack was brought back to life, he had no memory of who he was before he died. He was told that his name was Hawk and he had no idea that he even died. He became an entirely different person. One day, Stan sent him on a mission to bring Violet back to him. Violet still believed that Zack was dead and had been living at Zack’s mom’s house for the past year. When Zack showed up, she tried to talk to him, but he didn’t know who she was other than that she was his mission. He brought her back to the base Stan worked on. She escaped again, but came back a week later, broke him out and brought him back to the lab her brother, Max, worked at. (More about this on Violet’s sheet.) Violet tried to talk some sense into him, but he had no idea who she was or who she thought he was. On a couple occasions, Zack hurts Violet and almost kills her, but she won’t give up until she gets him back to who he was before. She found a tiny metal panel behind his ear and after further investigation, discovered he had a microchip in him. Violet got Max to take the chip out and Zack woke up, unaware of everything he did as Hawk. He eventually regained his memories and was horrified to learn about what he did.
Post-Resurrection:
A couple weeks later, Zack and Violet (with the help of the group Max was working with) infiltrate Stan’s base to take the project down. The intention was to keep Stan alive so he could be questioned about what exactly the program did to superhumans. Zack pretends to act as Hawk to get close to Stan, but Stan realizes it’s a trap quickly. He had one of his technicians inject Violet with a hallucinogen that makes her see her fears that Stan got from a man that Zack encountered before he died (wow wonder who that was inspired by). The serum also causes intense pain and Zack snapped seeing Violet like that. Zack attacks Stan and ends up beating him to death.

Deconstructing my Religion + Reading the Bible Beginning to End
I grew up Christian the way many Americans do. If people asked or if I asked what our religion was I was told Christian, my family has occasional periods where we’d go to church on Sunday mornings, that sort of thing. It wasn’t something we really talked about at home or made a big deal about living by. I went to a Christian school for two years, from 4th to 5th grade, I’m autistic and my mom thought I’d benefit from the smaller class sizes, but she pulled me out after 5th grade because I came out as transgender in 5th and she figured it wasn’t the best environment for me as a queer person.
I’ve explored alternative religions and spiritualities most of my life, starting around 5th grade. I’ve been interested in the Greek gods, witchcraft and paganism, Norse gods, deities like Lord Lucifer or King Asmodeus. It’s in my nature to research, it’s always been my favorite activity. So I’ve read books, posts on social media, watched videos, explored articles. And although I developed technical understandings and even interests in worshiping specific deities or participating in specific practice, I’ve never been able to allow myself to commit.
I wondered often why that is. I’ve wondered why I hold so much fear over doing it wrong, making mistakes, or even just not knowing enough. I’ve come to the conclusion that it is because even though Christianity was not as large an influence in my life as it was for others, it was still an influence, especially because of my queer identity and the commonly held views of Christians in regards to that. I’ve decided that in order to commit fully to a religious or spiritual path that feels right for me I need to fully understand, dissect, and deconstruct my personal understanding of the Christian religion.
To do this I have decided to read the Bible the whole way through, taking notes on my questions interpretations, theories, and general observations. I have decided that I will post my musings here on my blog for others to enjoy. I will put a disclaimer, I am clearly not an expert on religion. I have not studied it in a university, I am not a professor, I am not a philosopher. I’m just a regular old person. My views are subject to personal bias, my interpretations are not full proof , and my theories and ideas will not always be without holes or questionable logic. I am not perfect and make no claims to be. However, I refuse to prescribe to an archaic and classist idea that the Bible and other religious texts can only be interpreted and understood by scholars and those of “superior” intellect. Texts that are published to the public, texts that many are expected to choose to base their lives and morals around, should be analyzed and reviewed by those people. If I get anything blatantly wrong, or if you have other ideas or interpretations, I am extremely open to hearing about my mistakes or discussing things! I love to talk, be respectful and it’ll be fun! These are also my thoughts as I read, as I read I stopped and wrote down exactly what my first thoughts and questions were. So many of them may be incomplete or subject to change and rethinking as I go on. I am providing my in the moment thoughts and opinions, and also my evolution of thoughts.
I’ve decided to take note of every commandment/rule/law so that I can know and understanding them all, so some of these bullet points will just be those with no thoughts. Others will be general observations. There will also be questions, many of which I will have answers to whether that be answers I found through research or answers I found through my personal understandings. I will also have “theories.” And so, without anything else to add, here are my notes.
1. Genesis 2:3 “Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
2. Genesis 2:9 “The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground — trees that were pleasing to the eye and food for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” I had never known there were two distinct trees in the garden, I was always led to understand these two trees as the same, interchangeable in name and function.
3. Why is LORD written in all capital letters at some times and not at others? This is because LORD is a translation of the Hebrew word considered to be the true name of God “YHWH” or “YHVH”. It was written this way because Hebrew lacked vowels and when written, people just knew how to pronounce it aloud despite it not being written out. The Jewish people also had a tradition, a belief, about not saying the true name of God aloud out of respect, because it was holy, instead they would say “Adonai” which is Hebrew word meaning “Lord”, when reading aloud or speaking of God. So in the Old Testament when it says LORD it is a translation of “YHWH” or “YHVH”, the true name of God, and when the Old Testament just says Lord it is a translation of the word “Adonai” which literally means lord, sovereign, or master. When “God” is used to refer to God it is translated most often in the Old Testament from the word “Elohim”, it is a plural word often used alongside singular words to refer to God. It is also used in reference to other gods in the Old Testament.
4. Genesis 2:16-17 ‘And the LORD God commanded the man “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”’ I noted that Adam was given no commands regarding the other special tree mentioned, the tree of life.
5. In Genesis 2:18 and Genesis 2:20 the word “helper” is used to describe the companion God hopes for Adam to have, what is this word helper translated from? It is translated from the Hebrew word “ezer.” The word ezer is also used to refer to God himself 16 times from what I read, including in Psalms 33:20 and Psalms 115:9 where the word is used to describe God as a help to us, to man. Many view women as being created as a subordinate to man, created to be his helper in a way that implies she is less than or subordinate, but the same word used to describe woman’s purpose in being created is used to describe God. And one thing the Christian god is not is subordinate to his creations. Going by this interpretation of the word, I would say that woman was created to be an equal partner to man, to act as a protector, a strength, a rescuer and an ally.
6. In Genesis 2:21-22, God, who is referred to using masculine pronouns, and Adam, who is a man, create the first woman, Eve. Two MEN are responsible for the creation of a person, the first person ever created from another person rather than from God alone. God takes a rib from Adam and fashions it into Eve, and so Eve is, in a way, born from Adam’s body. It almost feels like the creation story here is a way to discredit women in the act of creation, to take away from what it means that women create life in their wombs and bring men and women both into the world. From the gender perspective of the time women are people with vaginas who give birth. So how do you take away from this power women have, this insane act of creation they are capable of? Give the credit to men. I mean right after this in Genesis 2:23 it says ‘The man said, “this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”’ But it is literally men who are taken from women, who come from women, life comes from women!
(I personally have a much more complex view of sex and gender, of what it means to give birth, be pregnant, and to be a woman. However, for the case of the perspectives of the time and for my sanity I am using simple and non exploratory language that does not encapsulate my full understanding of sex and gender.)
7. Genesis 3:4-5 ‘“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”’ That is what the serpent says to Eve about eating from the tree, and I’m going to argue that I don’t believe he lied. Yes, the serpent led Eve to disobey the word of God, which of course God would not like, and by Christian standards would be considered sinful, but he in no way lied to do it. As I mentioned before, in Genesis 2:16-17 it says this ‘And the LORD God commanded the man “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”’ God gives no reason why it is bad that Adam would gain this knowledge, the only reason he gives not to eat from it is that he would certainly die when he did. Now, do Adam and Eve one day die? Yes. Do they die as a result of eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil? No, not in my opinion, which I will explain, and so the serpent didn’t lie about that, it was not certain that Adam and Eve would die as a result of eating from the tree, and they did not certainly have to die at all. Additionally, the serpent says that Eve will become like God if she eats from the tree of knowledge, which she does, as God confirms himself in Genesis 3:22. So once again no lie from the serpent. The serpent only offered Eve what she truly desired, which was KNOWLEDGE, which was WISDOM, as is stated in Genesis 3:6. Eating the fruit didn’t take away Adam and Eve’s immortality, it wasn’t a fruit that stripped them of that, they couldn’t be stripped of it even if it was because Adam and Eve were mortal when they ate the fruit. Eating the fruit simply gave Adam and Eve the same knowledge of good and evil that God himself possessed, which God did not like. Going back to Genesis 3:22-23, which says ‘And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.’ When we go back to this verse we see that Adam and Eve did not have to “certainly die”, they possessed the same knowledge and wisdom that God himself possessed, and God was immortal with this knowledge and wisdom, and according to his text possesses this knowledge and wisdom and is still purely good and without sin or fault. So it stands to reason that God simply did not like that Adam and Eve had this knowledge themselves, and so he chose to punish them with death and harder lives. Not for anything truly evil, purely for not doing what he said, and for possessing knowledge that he did not wish them to have. Knowledge that perhaps made them too much like him for God’s taste, too equal to him.
8. All of that above translated to an idea or theory or whatever you’d like to call it in my mind. It seems to me that Heaven may not be the ideal happy place most think it will be. Long after the time of Adam and Eve, the Bible says that Jesus comes to Earth to die for humanity’s sins and give us the gift of eternal life, which God did not allow Adam and Eve to have on account of their gaining of knowledge of good and evil, their new found wisdom. So, in my mind it seems logical to assume that going to Heaven is not just about loving Jesus and God, and viewing them as your savior. My “theory” is that in order to go to Heaven you have to give up what Adam and Eve took for themselves and for all of humanity, the knowledge of good and evil. You pay for your passage into Heaven by becoming a blank slate of sorts, you become passive, without higher critical thought. You lose the likeness to God humanity gained through eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the likeness that in my theory, is humanity’s ability to create like God, to have ideas like God of new and big things, to innovate and wonder and speculate. Heaven is enteral mindless bliss and worship and devotion, and all it costs is everything that makes you free and “human” as we view humanity today.

I remembered to send the ask to your writing blog this time!
Okay, here’s my idea for Shauna: she and reader aren’t dating yet, just best friends (sorry Jackie) and reader doesn’t know what to get her for Christmas. Then Shauna accidentally leaves her journal at their house, and they read it to try to get an idea for her gift. But instead they find all her entries about how she’s in love with reader. Shauna finds out and gets really mad, but she’s actually just embarrassed and scared that she ruined their friendship. But then reader kisses her and tells her they love her too. Turns out the perfect Christmas gift for Shauna was a girlfriend
Christmas Confessions
Shauna shipman x reader
AN: My last Yellowjackets Christmas fic! And of course my lovely tumblr wife requested it😘. I made the reader and Shauna besties and didn’t want to try and include Jackie somehow so I just don’t mention her. Shauna’s text is in green. And I put like the journal flashback things are in italics And the word count is I think the biggest at almost 1.8k. Also now that my Christmas things are done I’ll totally take requests. I’ll take requests about anyone that I have written for so far.
You and Shauna have been best friends since kindergarten. You have always been inseparable. Always having sleepovers together even joining the soccer team in grade 9. Everyone at school knows about you too and how much you care for one another.
One time in grade 2 a few of the boys were making fun of you and pushed you and that was the first time Shauna punched someone for you. That was when you first realized how much you would do for each other. Sure, Shauna got in trouble but it was grade 2 so she didn’t catch that much slack.
After that point no one messed with either of you. People were scared of Shauna and they were scared of what Shauna would do if they hurt you. And it was like that even in highschool.
————————————————————————
December 12, 1996
You and Shauna are both in your senior year now. She came over for her weekly sleepover. The two of you were hanging out like you normally do. Watching a movie, listening to music, and sometimes just laying there together.
That was the thing you loved about Shauna; the silences were never awkward. You could lay there and talk or just sit. Sometimes Shauna would write in her journal while you did homework.
You start to think she loves that journal more than you. She always had it around. You learned early that she is very private about it. So you don’t ask to read it anymore. She’s your best friends but she can keep her thoughts and feelings private if she truly wants to.
Shauna had already left after having dinner with your family. Her mom had been in a rush to go somewhere. You go back into your room and that’s when you notice Shauna's journal sitting right on your bed. She must have forgotten it because she was rushing.
You move it off your bed and place it on your nightstand. You will give it to her at school on Monday you think to yourself as you lay down on your bed. An hour passes every so often you glance over at the journal.
You realize you still need ideas for what to get Shauna for Christmas. You look over at the journal and grab it. You get a good idea. You might as well take a little look to find possible gift ideas. It couldn't possibly hurt, right?
The cover has her name printed neatly with a pen. For a second you hesitate hoping nothing too personal is in her journal. It will only be for a few minutes you say to yourself. That reassures you and you flip open the first page.
————————————————————————
June 28 1996. You knew Shauna got a new journal at the end of grade 11, because you two found it at the mall together. You picked it up and showed it to her.
“Look Shaunie, it's green. Don’t you need a new one?” You said to her. Shauna ended up buying it. What you didn't notice back then was how Shauna looked at you that day or any day really.
The entry is pretty normal. It talks about your guys mall trip. And how you guys got ice cream. You smile to yourself as you remember how much fun you had with her. It talks about how you got ice cream all over your face and Shauna had to get a napkin and wipe it off.You finally notice how she talks about you. Sure you're close and give each other compliments but this feels different. You shrug it off and keep searching.
The next few entries are all in the summer. Mostly talking about the family vacation she went on .You flip to another entry.
————————————————————————
August 5 1996. You and Shauna were at her house. It explains what you guys did that day. Shauna had gotten a new lip gloss for her birthday and you both were trying it out. Shauna put it on first, rubbing her lips together. She writes about how you put it on as well. You remember how much you liked the lipgloss. The lovely pink shine looked great on your lips. And Shauna definitely thought so too. In fact she goes into great detail about how much she did like it.
You pause a confused look on your face. The sudden realization hits you hard. How did you not notice? You keep reading trying to confirm if you're not going crazy. You blush as you read the last sentence.
“I wanted to kiss them so badly.” Shauna writes with a few pink hearts around your name. You suddenly feel really guilty but also relieved. You have known you like Shauna for a while. But you have been too scared to confess. How could you ruin your relationship with her like that?
You have so many conflicting feelings. You're happy she likes you back, but nervous as to how she would respond about you snooping around in her private journal.
At this point you can't stop reading them. Each one is a different day. Each entry delves into just how big of a crush Shauna truly has.
————————————————————————
September 25 1996.
This one was around your first few weeks of grade 12. You and Shauna were in the same English Lit class. You went over to study with her. It was a fun night. but clearly Shauna saw it differently. She spent a good paragraph talking about your silly jokes and describing just how much she loves your laugh.
————————————————————————
October 31 1996
The two of you went to Lottie's annual halloween party. Of course dressed in matching costumes. You spent a long time finding a cute costume that would match with one another. The entry sounds pretty normal except for Shauna’s clear jealousy to you playing spin the bottle with the other girls. You ended up having to kiss Natalie. It was all for fun and games but clearly Shauna didn’t think so. You read it over and Shauna sounds angry.
“It should have been me kissing them.” She finishes off the entry with that angrily scribbled in pen.
The next few entries are about the same. You feel bad for reading all her personal thoughts and feelings. But you can’t seem to stop yourself from reading. You spend 2 hours reading all of the entries. You lay in your bed contemplating what you should do?
Give it back to her?
Confront her?
Keep her in the dark?
You run through all the ideas and scenarios in your head. Your anxiety builds and builds. You decide to sleep on it, you're exhausted from all the thoughts of what could happen.
You wake up on Sunday morning rubbing your eyes as you look over and see her journal staring back at you. You get up and get dressed, determined to tell her.
Your mom went out to do some Christmas shopping and you left her journal open on your bed.
You hear a shape knock on your door. You walk over to the front door and open it to a slightly flushed Shauna. She’s dressed in her iconic flannel .
“Uh,hi, sorry for showing up unannounced but I-uh left my journal here last night.” She is clearly nervous that you might have read it .
“Oh! Right, come in , it’s uh in my room.” You say ushering her in, your face heating up as your heart pounds.
You bring her into your room forgetting that you left her journal open on your bed. She walks in after you as you quickly grab it, closing it and passing it to her.
“Did you read it?” She says half nervous half accusatory. You stumble over your words as all your thoughts slip from your mind.
“You did read it ! You know it’s private!” She yells pacing around your bedroom. You try to jump into it to try and defend yourself but she’s not having any of it.
Shauna never yells at you and this version of her scares you.
“Shauna plea-“ You try to say but she cuts you off to mad to listen. “You know how I feel about you don’t you? You know how I feel about you ?” She says her voice quiets a bit.
“I can’t believe you would do this!” She starts yelling again. She sounds almost disappointed and it makes you feel worse. But you have to tell her.
You start tuning her out as you work up the courage She goes on about how mad she is. But you're not listening anymore. You step closer to her. She stops noticing the look on your face.
“What?” She starts to say before you quickly cut her off. You lean forward cupping her face and pulling her into a passionate kiss.
Her breath hitches and she gasps in shock. You pull back a little, noses touching. “Is this ok?” You say a hushed whisper. Shauna nods and smiles wrapping her arms around your waist, pulling you into another kiss this time.
You both end up on your bed, Shauna's journal discarded on the floor. As you too enjoy your first kiss together. Shauna’s hands behind your neck as you both make out.
Shauna lays down with you and you smile . “I love you too. You know ?” You say as Shauna blushes remembering that you read all the things she said about you.
“Did you actually read like everything?” Shauna says quietly as she plays with the hem of your pants. You blush too a little embarrassed. “Yeah uh I did , funny enough I was trying to find an idea for a Christmas present.” You say as Shauna’s embarrassment slowly disappears.
“That stuff I wrote was a little uh well you know.” Shauna says turning shy again. “It was really cute Shaunie.” You say with a little smirk. She groans and covers her face. “Especially when you said that you wanted to fight Natalie during halloween.” You say giggling a little at Shauna’s flustered face.
“I also heard all about how you love when I wear this shirt.” You say sitting up a little to give her a full look. Her eyes widen a little and she somehow blushes more red.
“That's mean.” She whines but you both know now that she is loving this. She eyes you up and down and pulls you in for another kiss. “I bought you that shirt for your birthday.”
“I know silly you went on and on about it.” You tease as you pull her down with you and pull her into another long kiss.
“You know what? It turns out I got you what you wanted for Christmas.”
“Really what was it?”
“Me.”

Miraculous: Next Spots - Season 1 Chapter List
Since Season 1 A and Season 1 B have different vibes to them... I decided to rebrand them as seasons 1 and 2. And old season 2 is season 3.
I made... a bunch of additions. Tell me your theories, comments, or just a fave... we writers/artists need those :'
Chapter 1: Miraculous Awakening, part 1: Ladybug.
Synopsis: A boy called Henri innocently opens his Birthday present, and, accidentally, unleashes magical creatures into the world. Not only that, but a supervillain who has been gone for years has returned. Now, Chrysalis will finally achieve her goals.
Chapter 2: Miraculous Awakening, part 2: Star Talent.
Synopsis: Henri wakes up to discover that his attempts to ignore what happened on the previous day were flawed. A bitter singer has been turned into a villainess, and he will be forced to act.
Chapter 3: Rocket Launcher.
Synopsis: It’s Henri’s first day back at school, which, he isn’t much excited about. There are all sorts of rumors about the new hero and the return of the purple butterflies. Besides, he doesn’t have any friends there. Meanwhile, a rebellious baseball player is Chrysalis’s next target.
Chapter 4: Waterfall.
Synopsis: Henri is still trying to adjust to his new life as a superhero, and he is facing many struggles. Just like his classmate, who has been banned from the swimming due to a bad grade.
Chapter 5: Virus.
Synopsis: With few options, Henri decides to investigate his classmates to see if they are, somehow, connected to Chrysalis. His quest is interrupted, however, by an Akuma that can corrupt any technology.
Chapter 6: Shadow Stalker.
Synopsis: While Henri is busy reading his mother’s diary, Kyoko is investigating the new Hawk Moth under her grandfather’s request. However, her newest scheme might be proven too risky…
Chapter 7: Illustrhater
Synopsis: Makoto and Kyoko ask Henri to teach them how to cook. However, their plans are interrupted by an akuma with the power to create anything with their notebook.
Chapter 8: Thunder Biker.
Synopsis: Henri has the chance to meet one of his mother’s old friends. However, the moment is cut short by a dangerous and reckless Akuma.
Chapter 9: Ice Prince.
Synopsis: While Henri is in the middle of a trial as to who is the new ladybug hero, a new akuma freezes the entire city, and our young hero will have to unlock a new seams…
Chapter 10: Venus.
Synopsis: Sayaka is struggling with her mental health after her akumatization. Not only that, but, ever since leaving her group, she feels purposeless. It doesn’t help how her ex-boyfriend seems to be getting close to Henri on “Positivity Day”.
Chapter 11: Truth Seeker.
Synopsis: Henri has been acting weird since last week, and his friends are rightfully worried. This worry leads to Chrysalis’s newest victim: “Truth Seeker”.
Chapter 12: Le Festin.
Synopsis: The Dupain-Cheng bakery has gotten a new rival. There is a bistro in town, and Henri fears something bad happening to his family’s business. He goes on an undercover mission and discovers some carefully hidden secrets.
Chapter 13: Bara-Oni.
Disclaimer: The Akuma is inspired by @maddascanbe-blog rewrite. I needed something for Kagami, and I loved how they fused what worked with Riposte and Onichan. And I thought they fit with the theme of the chapter... if they end up feeling uncomfortable, I will replace the akuma with one with a similar theme.
Synopsis: Henri, "celebrating" what would be his late mother's birthday, ends up finding out the power of Kwagatamas, and he is determined to get one to see his mother. Meanwhile, Kagami is facing her own issues during her marriage anniversary. (Yes, she got married on Marinette's birthday. It was before she died, don't worry. Probably Felix's idea to spite Marinette somehow...)
Chapter 14: Lord Dino.
Synopsis: Henri notices he has been followed for the past few days. But he can’t even confront his supposed stalkers, cause the newest akuma has the power of summoning Dinosaurs from his bucket.
Chapter 15: Incredible Girl.
Disclaimer: The idea is inspired by @nionom 's concepts for an akumatized!Socqueline... if they complain about it, I wil rework the concept.
Synopsis: Due to the sudden rise of popularity of the new mysterious bug hero, Sarah’s main goal is to become a part of the “New Miraculers”, however, once she notices things are going to her away, she decides being a villain is the next best thing.
Chapter 16: Nike.
Synopsis: After Auster got expelled from the Diamonds, he starts to struggle with staying at the top of his family fridge's charts (the idea came from @nerdy-chocomallow; don't blame me XD). However, a family competition organized by Aurore (who has her own amount of generational trauma) leads to her own akumatization as "Nike". She will turn her kids into winners, and not even the new bug hero will stop her!
Chapter 17: The Birth of Lord Spots, part 1: Comic King.
Synopsis: An old friend of Henri is back in town, and he promises to be there for his friend Harmony’s race. However, a tricky akuma that can bring his heroes to life might make him a little too late.
Chapter 18: The Birth of Lord Spots, part 2: Queen Wasp.
Synopsis: After the disaster at Harmony’s race, Chloe is akumatized for the first time in years. She will make sure that her daughter is the queen of the world.

writer interview
thanks for tagging me @narrativefoiltrope! <3 ik i don't really answer these ask/tag games v much anymore but i appreciate being tagged!
tagging: @lilas @bceky (teehee! i think it'd be fun if you answered on your game dev blog) and whoever wants to answer!
when did you start writing?
I definitely have clear memories of writing stories as early as 5th grade, so when I was like, 9-10 years old on an old Windows computer. And not too long after that, I started writing fanfiction for Inuyasha since I was obsessed as a kid.
I don't know if this counts, but in my professional job, I've been editing and sometimes writing policies for my lab for maybe four years now, but that's more technical writing than creative.
are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
I end up reading a lot of what friends recommend to me, but what I read the most are sci-fi, speculative fiction, memoirs, and horror/thriller/mysteries! I'm open to quite a bit tbh and have more fun talking about shared reads than reading itself.
is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
LMAO nah, I haven't published fanfic in 2 years at this point so there's really no reason to compare me to anything at all. Professional I follow a template my co-worker made since I find the break down to be helpful for ease of use. I like authors who are really, really good with economy of language and pack a lot of punch with less words but I can't think of a good example right now.
can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
It's either my phone at 11 pm when I should be sleeping or my dinky lil Target desk! I use two screens at work so I can compare other policies or bring up websites for product information though, so that feels kinda fancy.
what’s your most effective way to muster up a muse?
A lot like Erin I get inspired just chatting about OC head canons! Making up scenarios, usually in a jokey way, and wanting to explore it a little bit more in a drabble since I don't really do longform writing at all.
what’s your reason for writing?
For work it's just an extra project for me to have and do when I have free time, and I'm generally OK with it. It looks good on my yearly eval. Otherwise I just write as a hobby! Most of my writing I don't even share with other people </3. It's fun for me to do, I like my lil dolls and smacking them together. Art is harder and harder for me to do these days, so sometimes it's easier to just write a lil something when the need to create hits me.
is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
If I do share my writing w/ friends a good keysmash or emoji reaction makes my day! <3 Or I love when people point out particular lines they really enjoyed.
how do you want to be thought about by your readers?
For my work, I just want the policies to be comprehensible, easy to navigate, and a useful source of information. I write them with the intent that if I were to come into the lab as a new person, I could refer to the technical documents and know how to perform that particular bench work.
Otherwise: my readers are just my friends, if they're having fun than I am too! And if you hated it don't tell me :(
what do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
Professionally I think I'm good at really getting down the nitty gritty details of how something is done. I know how I'd want it to read as someone who needs carefully detailed instructions, so I write for myself and I think it comes off as clear.
Creatively, I really don't know! I don't think I'm good at writing. Maybe my greatest strength is that I also don't give a fuck if I'm good or not??? If I'm not confident about it I'm just not sharing it lmao.
how do you feel about your own writing?
It's a creative outlet! I like getting to be indulgent, and I'm not as critical with my writing as I am with my art. :) I can be as experimental or serious as I want! But I also desperately want to delete old TWC fics/microfics that I posted on my main blog because I feel intense cringe at them at this point and don't want them to be seen anymore.

hey sam, any tips on surviving college as an autistic person? I truly feel so out of place and uncomfortable, I'm not sure I want it. Thinking about maybe just getting a shitty 9-5 job for the rest of my life and that's it, the education system is definetly not made to fit us. I'd like some tips though (if you have any) bc I'm trying again and wanted it to work and I really relate to your experiences. Sending you love.
okay so i'm not clinically diagnosed and after speaking with therapists about it, i've decided i don't really want to be. it would be helpful but the us government doesn't need to know that one of their international students is autistic and the jamaican government couldn't care less. school used to be really easy for me; the highschool i got into is considered the best in the caribbean and i continued to do really well for a while after i got there. school generally and really really suddenly became a challenge once i crossed into 10th grade; basic stuff like deciding to do assignments much less finishing them, submitting them, and getting a grade became really difficult and i couldn't figure out why. it even genuinely confused me when outwardly, it was clear to my teachers that i was trying really hard but inwardly, i just couldn't do these basic things anymore. i was kind of running on empty but i developed this weird subconscious utilisation of my ability to hyperfixate and hyperfocus to turn to something i'm genuinely interested in and give it as much as i can (because then, it never actually feels like 'work' in the traditional sense because i enjoy it) while for other things i did the bare minimum to conserve my energy. according to my mom at the time (10th grade), this was something i always did, she called it 'shutting down', but it was new that she was seeing it being done with school. it didn't fix my grades, even stuff id hyperfocus on would get me grades lower than what i had worked for and i stayed a below-average student for the rest and highschool and into post-secondary but it kept up my interest in school for as long as was necessary.
i straight up didn't survive my first year of university 💀 i remade last november so many people here might not have seen my live blogged university flop experience. i'm really not kidding when i say that i unintentionally jinxed myself into becoming mae borowski (minus the part about jinxing myself. i don't believe in that, that's the joke). i failed a whole class during my first semester because i genuinely couldn't handle a four course, fifteen credit work load. that semester i was taking basic video (pre-req), english 105 (pre-req), european film (seminar), and film and media history (pre-req, online) and after i submitted my first assignment for english 105, i just could never submit another one and it didn't help that every assignment past the first counted towards your final. i focused on the film courses because that's my major, and that's what i was interested in, and with the work load i had it was what i could handle. i get really embarrassed talking about this because fifteen credits is a normal workload so it shouldn't be an issue and it tends to not make any sense to people who aren't autistic that i'm able to get an A+ in two courses with flying colours of student recommendations from my professors so much so that they still came up to me when we saw each other on campus outside of being their student, a B in one and completely fail, not even fail but straight up just not finish another. it just doesn't sound rational at all and i get self conscious but it's literally what happened.
i made four friends in the first three weeks of my first semester and legitimately never made another one beyond that for the whole year which is a far cry from the stories my other friends who attend universities in the us have, which is also insanely embarrassing but i did volunteer for the city's film festival, which was fun even though i didn't really make any friends (they were all people muchhh older than with careers and shit).
in retrospect, i can say that my mental health started to rapidly deteriorate after my first semester—i was dissocisated for practically that whole break, having panic attacks daily, etc but i got a little bit better when i restarted school for spring 2024. i specifically chose classes that i thought id be interested in and would be easier because i knew i wasn't doing well mentally. that semester i took experimental moving images 302, immigration and film 213, another seminar 211, and i tried retaking english 105. i did worse this time—i got an A+ and glowing recommendations from my EMI prof which is terribly ironic because being a first year student taking a 300 level course is crazy but... autism 🤷 i was really into that class, a B in the seminar* and my prof invited me to work on an art project with him (i missed the exhibition during my leave of absence :/), failed immigration and film, and failed english 105 (again). like, again, that skew is so fucking irrational it always makes me feel crazy to see until i remember that this is a normal autistic experience for university.
my gpa (which was a 3.7 or so when i got into university but restarted when i switched school systems) dropped to a 2.2 and i lost my academic scholarship. i got it back but i had to take a leave of absence (which has been the past school year). my academic advisor wants me to get an academic withdrawal and basically start university over from scratch. so yeah i really didn't survive and my mental health definitely got worse over the course of my leave of absence which has lead to my current journey with trying medication. my last day in the us as a student in may 2024 was crazy i had to move out on my own then fly back home; i didn't sleep for like three days and the night before my flight i was on a call with my dad for hours sobbing and trying to figure out how to pack everything into my suitcases. i also had to crowdfund a lot of the money i paid to store my stuff until i could get them moved elsewhere cause in the depths in my depression i didn't do enough research into the place i chose. <- my parents paid for the rest i couldn't crowdfund or pay myself, which was about 300/1.2k and they complained about that 💀 they don't know
my point is, learn from my mistakes
speak with your academic advisor straight off the bat and know your limits.
take smaller than average course loads and try to pace yourself when it comes to things you know will be hard for you.
don't push through it, drop that course if you need to. take a break if you need to. ask your prof for extra time if you need to. take that leave of absence if you need to. breaks are unlimited, use them to your advantage!!! you're not gonna get left behind just because your degree took five or eight years instead of the usual four.
keep showing up though. attendance and taking part in your classes is everything. you really don't have to be friendly about it, just do it enough to establish a relationship with your professor. i always had an issue with having relationships with teachers in highschool but it was surprisingly much easier in university because profs are usually willing to be your friend rather than a source of absolute authority.
also i could've gotten an incomplete grade on english 105 when i retook it (instead of getting a failure, i couldve submitted my assignments beyond the end of the semester, *which is what i did for the seminar i took in spring 2024. my prof really believed in me and let me submit assignments beyond the end of the semester) if i kept showing up to class but i got really depressed and started missing classes.
so get help when you realise you need it. my school had free therapists, i saw a psychiatrist for free, etc etc. so try to figure out if your school has those resources for you right off the bat. don't wait until it gets too bad.
if you can, try to repair your relationship with your parents now that you aren't living with them 24/7 anymore. genuinely, those ten months i spent living on my own, despite how deteriorated my mental health became, saved my LIFE. in 2023, it was either i got out of jamaica or killed myself no i'm not kidding but having them as a support after the fact has definitely helped.
be obsessive with planning. know how everything is going to happen as much as you can plan for it (so like travel, classes, homework, studying, etc) so that you can reserve that energy for other things that matter.
this was probably a shitty answer but my personal experiences are all i'm able to extend here :/ i really hopes this help in some way, shape or form. sending that love right back <3

(I have posted about this on @official-nature-posts before but asking you specifically. So when I remembered that Japanese indigo is a persicaria, I wondered if my local Persicaria Decipiens would work. I could see some blue hints just crushing it up which is good, best seen in the blurry photo. I plan on doing fresh leaf dyeing first, but I have been reading up about small scale indigo vats which id like to know if you know much about them? I don’t want to have to buy chemicals.I know that they need an alkali (I can wood ash lye or even calcium hydroxide at a pinch by heating up ashes a lot) a reducing agent ( fructose, I saw one blog that was using boiled orange peels and also trying pectin.) and of course the indigo source. Do you know how the reducing agents work. I will wait a while for it to warm up so the plants start growing again because they get knocked about by frost each year. Also hopefully going to grow some Japanese indigo.
Ooh, cool! I've gotten to try indigo dyeing on a course once, and one of my friends there showed how to make an organic dye vat, Michel Garcia's style (you can find his tutorials on youtube too!). Both were made with ready indigo powder, though. Let's check my notes first, then I'll talk about the plants. Prepare for a long read!
Chemical dye process
For reference, the normal chemical process went like this: we used 10% WOF (weight of fibre) sodium hydroxide to get a high (10-11) pH to help extract the dye. Temperature should be 40-50⁰C., and the extraction time was 40 minutes. For the reduction, we used sodium dithionate 60% WOF at 55⁰C (no higher, it wastes some dye), and pH was 8-9. At that step we had to leave the room for 30 minutes because it's toxic to let it settle. A tip for controlling the temperature: use a double boiler. After the 30 minutes, it looked like this:

A pretty metallic sheen on the surface and an "indigo flower" bubble in the middle had formed! Underneath the mixture was a yellowish green.
For dyeing, dip it 1-10 minutes, try not to get air mixed into the dye bath. We used a parsley boiling kettle with its basket to dip the fibers in! Presoaking in water also helps the dye absorb more evenly. Pulling it out is magical, as it oxidized it turns from green to blue! Then rinse with vinegar and water and continue rinsing with water.
Organic vat method
This method can be done in smaller scale! It works like this:
Ingredients:
1 part indigo powder
2 parts calcium hydroxide (pickling lime) for alkaline agent
3 parts food-grade fructose or any other natural reducing agent (henna, oignon, very ripe fruits or an old madder dye vat are some suggestions!)
The indigo powder was dissolved into a bit of water first by putting it into a plastic box with some marbles and shaking it around to form a smooth paste.
For the reducing agent, the fructose was simply dissolved into 7-8 liters of water. If using henna (Lausaunia Inermis), prepare a "decoction" by putting the extract in cold water and boil till the powder remains in the bottom, then filter through a cloth and let cool to 50-70⁰C.
Then the indigo paste was added to the reducing agent. Probably let this sit for 40 minutes too?
For the alkaline agent, also don't breathe or touch with bare hands. Dissolve the calcium hydroxide in warm water and add that mixture into the indigo dye vat, carefully pouring it along the container wall to avoid getting air mixed in. Stir three times, creating a vortex. It should turn green, and look like the picture above with a metallic surface and blue bubbles. Then cover the vat tightly and let sit for 12-24 hours for the indigo to dissolve and reduce. Then carefully stir it and check the pH. Adjust it if needed:
For wool, pH 10 and temp 40-45⁰C.
For silk, pH 11 and no heating necessary.
For celluloce fibers like cotton/linen, pH 12 or higher and no heating necessary.
Dyeing: With presoaked fibers, dip for 30 minutes. Press the fibers against the wall of the container to avoid getting air = oxygen into the dye bath. At this point, it should look green.
Then the dye needs to be oxidized. To do this, remove the fibers from the dye vat, gently wring excess dye out, and push it in and out of cold water, opening any folds as you do. After the colour stabilizes into blue, hang it to dry for 30 minutes.
For best results, repeat this dyeing process two more times. If you want darker, extend the dipping and drying time on the second and third dye round to 1 hour and 1.5 hours.
When using fresh plants, I think you can extract the dye first and then use the extracted and filtered solution (or paste, if you use a lot of leaves and dehydrate it a bit) as a base for the fructose step. More on the extraction later.
Indigo compounds in plants
I'm not familiar with the plant you mention, so I don't know if it's as good as the indigo plant, Persicaria Tinctoria. I think you should still try, as crushing the leaves shows blues thing is very engouraging. I bet you'd at least get nice greens or greenish yellows if not even turquoise or blue!
Indigo is a category of many dye chemicals, and P. Tinctoria contains (among others) indirubin, which is the red indigoid chemical that makes indigo a more dark purple kind of blue. We have another plant, Isatis Tinctoria (common name woad, morsinko in Finnish), growing here, and it's also cultivated for indigo, but it doesn't have indirubin, hence the colour it gives is a bit cooler blue. So be aware that the shades you get might be different from what you're used to seeing as indigo! Also with our I. Tinctoria I remember reading that it's recommended to pick the leaves when they're young and keep them intact for best dyeing results. Though it depends on the method.
Indigo as a compound is not water-soluble, so that's why we need to reduce = remove the oxygen from the dye bath, so that it can turn into its precursor, that is water-soluble. The precursors are sensitive to light and oxygen during the process, so it can be tricky to get it to work. In the dye process the precursor sticks to the fibers, makes it green, and when it oxidizes in the air, it turns to indigo = blue.
Also in some traditions the leaves have been fermented first, and then used in the dye vat – that might be interesting to look into! Fermentation is also a way to reduce a vat, as the yeast and bacteria use up the oxygen in the fermentation process. Here's some reading on the traditional dyeing methods with I. Tinctoria that Outi, a natural dyer from Finland, recommended:
"A treatise on the culture, preparation, history, and analysis of pastel, or woad : the different methods of extracting the coloring matter, and the manner of using it, and indigo, in dyeing" (Lasteyrie, Dearborn 1816)
"The woad plant and its dye" (Hurry 1930)
Extracting from plants
I don't have any personal experience about this, but I'm going off of this finnish blog post on dyeing with I. Tinctoria, that I think should work very similarly. Her reasoning was that high heat and oxygen destroy the precursors of indigo, but high heat breaks the cells of the plants to allow for the dye compounds to dissolve into the water, so she put the plant leaves into boiling water and then put cold water on top soon to drop the temperature to around 50⁰C. (Also with the same reasoning, if you need to rinse the plants, use cold water). The leaves turned yellow in the 20 minutes they brewed, after that her steps were:
Remove the leaves
Add soda ash (50 grams, vat pH now 11)
Whisk for 20 minutes to add oxygen (at this step it should be more blueish, keep whisking until the bubbles turn pale, though hers was green) (I'm not convinced if this step is good)
Add 40 grams of a stain remover that contains sodium dithionate to reduce and leave for an hour
Peel the metallic surface and dye!
Wow, that was long. I find indigo dyeing super fascinating so it was fun to research it again! I hope some of this is useful to you!

I am very frustrated I am not finding many blogs or videos or subreddit/forum posts about people discussing their results after doing 1000-1500 hours of studying with automatic language growth materials and plan. According to the David Long interview I saw, spontaneous small amounts of speech would occur at 800-1000 hours (like a toddler who says "want milk" or "give me" I would guess), and that once speech occurs spontaneously more often (around 1500-2000 hours) then the learner can simply keep speaking more and should eventually talk well. So I wanted to see the results for learners who were at the 'beginning' speaking stage, and at the more developed 'speaking a lot' stage.
If anyone has any links to learners who have posted their experiences speaking in the language they studied after ALG lessons/study, please let me know.
I've found a few people on reddit who did ~1000 hours and are spontaneously speaking a little, one learner who did ~1500 hours and speaks okay (which is the speaking level they should in theory be at based on the David Long interview I saw) but the learner did a lot of on-purpose speaking after 1200 hours (they did ~200 hours on purpose shadowing or talking with tutors and language exchange partners) and I'm not sure if that's something a learner will need to plan to do in order to see similar progress.
I'm very curious on the 'learning to speak' period of ALG. The initial period, comprehensible input lessons, is approached differently in ALG (no concious word lookup or flashcards or textbooks), but is similar enough to stuff like general comprehensible input study (Youtube channels, the nature method textbooks ONLY in the target language, TPRS lessons, graded readers, consuming content in the target language for native speakers once you have the ability to comprehend it) which I have done. And which I can confirm does result in quite decent passive skills of listening and reading: if you study enough hours with input you comprehend (whether its ALG lessons, comprehensible input lessons on youtube, graded readers, or eventually comics/shows/novels/audiobooks) you WILL learn enough common words and grammar to read books and watch shows and follow the main idea, and from there you will keep learning enough to eventually understand More.
And at that point it's just like increasing vocabulary in your native language: you started as a child only able to understand perhaps a cartoon but not a complicated political drama for adults, and then you watched more cartoons and movies and more complicated plots and talked with friends and learned new words from non-fiction your school made you read or lectured to you about, and at some point between age 9-20 you found that complicated political dramas became understandable but challenging to follow. And then again, you learned more words from the show - and maybe college, or getting involved in politics and learning the terms, and talking with friends - and the next political thriller drama you watch is way more understandable. (My point is: as a child in your native language, you eventually understand more by either reading/watching/listening/conversing more and picking up new words from regular stuff you do).
So I know getting input you can understand the main idea of (whatever input that is), does eventually result in increasing vocabulary you understand. Which makes reading and listening easier over time. It's why at this point, in chinese and french, I can just learn more words by reading or listening to stuff I'd want to read/listen to anyway.
My speaking skills did not increase very much though. It would be awesome if speaking skills may simply improve with practice like talking to people and shadowing, or I may need to eventually explore speaking exercises with a tutor who corrects mistakes and fills in gaps. I've seen people study with Refold method - which is similar in some ways to what I did, vocabulary study on purpose in the beginning with flashcards/apps/lists, then immersing in materials for native speakers and looking up unknown key words for a while, then immersing with less lookups. And the people who've done Refold tend to do some writing practice, correcting errors (and sometimes drilling correct sentence patterns with anki flashcards), and talk to tutors (who can push them to increase active vocabulary they may have not needed prior - and correct mistakes), to improve their speaking in a few months to a year. (I'd prefer to just shadow and chat with people... but if a tutor is in my future one day then it is what it is...)
So I'm curious how the learning-to-speak portion of the ALG process goes. What those learners do at that stage, how much of it they do, and at what points they hit milestones of 'can talk about X things, to Y things, to Z things" with comfort. Or milestones of a few hundred active vocabulary words, to a few thousand.
