Today I woke up and felt the need for a scene in which Buck, not fully present to himself (sick; half asleep; having a panic attack; delirious with fever... take your pick) calls Maddie mum without realizing it.
Kinda like Stiles Stilinski with Melissa in Teen Wolf iykyk.

"I'm a dad now," Evan whispers, holding the sleeping infant in his arms so carefully that he might as well be immobile. "Tommy, we are parents."
Tommy is still busy wiping away the tears on his face, and it isn't helping that every time he looks at his husband and their baby, he wants to cry all over again. Next to him, Howie pats his shoulder and murmurs, "You big softie."
Maddie isn't doing much better, but she looks a lot prettier when she cries and isn't a blotchy mess like Tommy. "Look at you both," she coos at Evan and her nephew.
"He's perfect," Tommy murmurs to himself, not tearing his eyes away from the two in the armchair. He doesn't clarify if he's referring to Evan or their son Ryan David Zack Jason Forrest whose name needs to be decided now that he's here. "They're perfect."
Evan gazes at Tommy's cousin lying in the bed. "Thank you Angela, I know that's hardly enough to... But thank you."
Going to the bed, Tommy echoes his husband and kisses Angie on her brow. "I owe you so much."
"You're family, Tommy, don't be stupid." She grins up at him, big brown eyes similarly red-rimmed, though in her case it's more likely due to a lack of sleep after an exhausting eleven-hour delivery. "Go home and rest, come back tomorrow and learn how to take care of my nephew. And decide on a name, for crying out loud."
As the nurse comes back to the ward and gently coaxes Evan to put the baby back in the bassinet, a strange anger suffuses Tommy. Not directed at anyone in the room, but at his father. He keeps a lid on it until he and Evan are cuddling in bed, still too wired to sleep.
"You're a little tense," Evan says. Trust him to pick up on the tells.
"I'm thinking about family," Tommy replies, nuzzling under Evan's chin. "Our son is so perfect. I want to give him everything, and he hasn't even realized we're his dads yet."
"That doesn't sound like something that should make you tense." But Evan sighs and kisses the crown of Tommy's head. "But yeah, I get you. How do you have a child and not love them and want to give them everything and make sure they're protected and safe?"
Too late, Tommy realizes what Evan must be thinking of. He leans up on an elbow, cups his husband's face and kisses him on the lips. "We'll do better. Our baby will never once doubt that he is loved."
"No matter what."
"No matter what."
Evan smiles up at him, a little damp around the eyes, and says, "I know we should be deciding on a name, but I really wanna make love to you right now. Before baby comes home and we're too tired to do it."
"Let's do that," Tommy agrees, grinning, and kicks off the blanket. They'll decide on a name afterwards.

@ 911 fans—
Athena is not Buck’s mom. Hen is not Buck’s mom.
Athena has two children— Harry and May. She is their mom. Hen has two children— Denny and Mara. She is their mom. Karen is also their mom.
These black women are not the mothers of a grown-ass white man. Just as you should not pigeonhole black women into sassy, emasculating, and domineering stereotypes— which I see you all do, you should also not pigeonhole them into the stereotype role of the domestic laborer: cooking for, cleaning up after, and being a mother to a white “child.”
Shut the fuck up about “Mother Hen” and “Mother Athena.” If you aren’t talking about their relationship with their own legal children, shut the fuck up. Stop calling these women sassy and stop referring to them as Buck’s mothers.
Buck has a mother, Margaret Buckley. Margaret is his only mother. I don’t care if you dislike her, but replacing a neglectful white mother with a black woman as a caretaker is not the endearing move you think it is.

I finally got caught up on s7 of 9-1-1 and can I just say . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I'M SO GLAD FOX CANCELLED IT SO THAT ABC COULD SAVE IT!!!! Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the show, I still loved the characters and wanted Buddie before but I feel like in a way FOX stopped trying or caring and the show started to feel different. Even after so many minutes in the first episode of s7, it felt different in the best possible way. Two episodes in and the show is the best it's been in a while and I'm so happy it was picked up by a network that saw its potential and cared. The show was starting to feel kind of stifled in a way and it wasn't the actors fault, now it feels like new life and energy was breathed into it. It reminds me of a time when 9-1-1 was at its best, s7 is already so freaking good and I can't wait for what the rest of the season and series has in store on ABC!!!!??!!!!

Embracing a Different Future
Buck had always dreamed of getting married. He knew he wanted the white picket fence lifestyle, or at least some version of it. In those imagined scenarios, he always loved the idea of being a husband. But he never imagined having a husband - it was never on his radar.
Buck loved being with Tommy. It had taken a while to feel comfortable introducing Tommy as his boyfriend, but now it was one of his favorite things. The pride he felt saying "my boyfriend" still made his heart skip a beat.
So why, when Tommy started dropping hints about marriage, did the weight of the word "husband" feel so suffocating?
He wanted forever with Tommy - that wasn't even a question. But something about changing "boyfriend" to "husband" made his chest tight. Maybe it was because all his previous dreams of marriage had included a wife, or maybe it was because "husband" made it all feel so much more real, more permanent, more... visible.
He needed to talk to Maddie about it - Maddie, who never judged him. Well, at least not harshly.
"Hey Mads, are you free? Can we meet for coffee?" Buck said, his voice shaky.
"Of course, Buck. Is everything okay?" Maddie's concern was evident even through the phone.
"Fine, I just need my big sister."
"Coffee shop or my place?"
"Yours."
"Okay, you pick up the coffee and head over here," Maddie said.
Buck hung up, grateful for his sister's immediate availability and her ability to sense when something was weighing on him. The word "husband" echoed in his mind as he drove to get their coffee, his thoughts a jumbled mess.
Buck took a deep breath as he exited the Jeep. He knocked on Maddie's door once before just walking in. "Maddie?"
"Kitchen!"
Buck walked into the kitchen, handed Maddie her coffee, and flopped onto a bar stool.
"So, what's up?" Maddie asked, studying her brother's face.
"So," Buck said, taking a deep breath. "Tommy's been dropping some hints about marriage lately."
"That's great!" Maddie exclaimed before seeing the look on Buck's face. Her smile faltered. "Isn't it? I thought you wanted to get married."
"I do. I really do," Buck said, staring at his coffee cup. "It's just... having a husband. It just feels so different from everything I had ever imagined."
"Different how?" Maddie asked gently.
"I imagined having a wife, Mads. I am so happy with Tommy and he's my forever but I'm not gay. It wasn't on my radar. I didn't know I even liked guys until 18 months ago," Buck said, the words tumbling out in a rush of emotion.
"Those are valid feelings, Buck," Maddie said softly.
Buck ran his hand through his hair, frustration evident in his gesture. "And it also feels like I'm going to be coming out to people constantly. Which Tommy says is a big part of being queer, but it hasn't really been to me." He paused, trying to find the right words. "Committing to having a husband just feels like a lot. Like, right now people just see us as Buck and Tommy, and it's great. But a husband? That's... that's different."
His voice cracked as he continued, "But I want it, Mads. I want it so badly," he said, almost in tears. "I want every part of a marriage to Tommy. Why am I like this?"
Maddie wrapped him in a hug. "You're not like anything, Evan. You've got big emotions over something that is huge."
"I feel like an idiot," Buck mumbled into his sister's shoulder.
"Oh sweetie, you're not an idiot, but I think you need to talk to Tommy."
"Maddie, I can't," Buck said, tears falling freely now. "He'll think I'm rejecting him. That I don't want the future with him, and I do. It's all I want," his voice broke on the last words.
"Don't you think Tommy will understand?" Maddie asked gently.
"I'm scared, Maddie." Buck's voice was barely above a whisper. "Why am I scared? Am I... am I homophobic?" The last word came out choked, full of self-doubt and fear.
"You've been dating a man for over a year," Maddie said flatly, giving her brother her best 'are you serious' look.
"So why am I doing this?" Buck asked, his voice small and confused, searching his sister's face for answers.
"Buck, you basically speed-ran your bi awakening. You went from realizing you liked guys to being in a serious relationship in what felt like minutes. There are bound to be things you never considered, feelings you never processed."
She paused, studying his face carefully. "Do you think you're mourning the idea of having a wife?"
"No!" Buck said immediately. "Definitely not mourning, just... adjusting to how different my future looks from what I imagined. I want this future more than I ever wanted that one, but it's still an adjustment."
"That makes perfect sense, Evan," Maddie said softly. "And Tommy will understand that too."
Buck sat silently for a moment, Maddie's comforting arm around his shoulder as he processed his emotions.
"You're right, Maddie. He deserves to know what I'm feeling, even if I'm not sure I fully understand it myself."
Maddie gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. "I think that's a really brave decision, Buck. Tommy loves you , and I know he'll want to support you through this."
Buck took a steadying breath as he stood up from the barstool. "Alright, I'm going to head home. I need to talk to Tommy about this before I lose my nerve."
Maddie gave him an encouraging smile. "I really think being honest with him is the best thing you can do. He'll want to understand what you're going through."
"Wish me luck?"
"Good luck," Maddie said, pulling him into a tight hug. "Remember, I'm here for you, no matter what."
Buck nodded gratefully and made his way to the front door. As he drove back to their house, a mix of worry and confidence swirled within him. He knew this conversation with Tommy wouldn't be easy, but deep down, he felt certain that everything was going to be okay.

Sometimes those posts go around on Twitter that are like “which character that was introduced after a show’s first season was the most influential” and there are a lot of answers I agree with (Ben in Parks and Rec, Michonne in The Walking Dead, etc.), but sometimes it genuinely boggles my mind to remember there was a whole season of 911 without Maddie Buckley-Han and Eddie Diaz. Like. What do you MEAN.

obsessed with maddie n tommy becoming besties and chim being so overcome with jealousy (over both of them alright cause he wants to hang out with his Wife (!) so bad but also tommy is so Cool..) that he resorts to buck, bothered and bewildered levels of attention seeking and whining to hen (who is incredibly unimpressed cause she sees right through tommy’s cool guy thing, and also need she remind chim that he just married maddie), only for it to all come to a head when tommy admits to maddie he had a little hero crush on chimney after he saved his life and of course maddie immediately spills because madney can’t keep secrets from each other to save a life and chimney is just like jaw on the floor HE WHAT??!! and then they all go get wine drunk and silly about it together <3

9-1-1 Writers you may have this idea completely free of charge. Buck walks Maddie up the aisle for the Madney wedding. She’s trying to repair the relationship with her parents but for today she deserves to have someone who truly loves her walk her. Eddie is a groomsmen for Chimney just as the rest of the crew are up on his side. Buck sees Eddie dressed in a suit at the front of the aisle and oh he’s so in love and he’s only just now realizing it. But he pushes it down because today is about his sister and he can freak the fuck out about it later.

My thoughts on Chimney Punching Buck:
Okay so I’ve seen a lot of Chimney hatred becuz of this scene in particular and it upsets me becuz Chimney was right. I said it.
Now do i think him punching buck was right? No. Do i think he had his reasons and took them out it the wrong fashion? Yes.
Everyone seems to think that Chimney was being irrational in this situation and Buck was a holy saint who did nothing wrong. No. Buck was wrong this time.
Let’s look at Maddie. Maddie has been alone for years. Her parents abandoned her for their grief and she had to raise Buck alone, and then she entered an abusive relationship where she couldn’t get help for years. She was never wanted or desired. And yes Buck loved her but he was a child and couldnt provide the love she deserved.
Maddie running away from Chim and Jee was becuz she felt like she didnt deserve them. She didn’t feel like she was worth saving.
She NEEDED someone to run after her. To show her that she IS wanted, she IS needed.
Buck kept her location a secret from Chim becuz he still looks up to her like a child would to a parent in some ways. He has a bit of a hero worship for her in some ways and doesnt really understand the extent to which she needs help becuz shes been such a strong figure for him their entire life and hasnt really let him see her be weak.
Chimney on the other hand HAS seen her at her worst and knows her intimately. He knows she needs someone to love her with their entire being and thats what he did by running after her. She needed to know she wasn’t alone and Chim did that for her.
And Chim punching Buck was when he was at the height of his emotional breakdown. He was terrified, upset, probably running on very little sleep, of course he was going to snap. I don’t think he should’ve punched Buck but i don’t that makes him the devil.
And neither does him ignoring Buck. He’s obviously frustrated becuz thats his everything right there and he cant find her. She could be dead for all he knows and Buck kept it from him.
Both of them have their flaws in this situation but Chim knew what Maddie needed and Buck didn’t. And Buck’s not in the wrong for not seeing that, he just didn’t know and needed to learn that.
