Hilda told him that human beings, on the thirty-first of October (not that Ingvar knew what an October was, nor that there were thirty-one of them), there was a holiday known as Halloween. And on this Halloween, humans enjoyed dressing up in frightful or silly costumes, and giving each other candy and sweets.

He may not have had any candy to give, but he did have a small basket of apples — the baskets having been so generously provided by his small friend, Hilda — for each of his friends. Apples were sweet, and delicious, and therefore good for Halloween, weren't they?

Hilda even took the time to write a note in neat cursive:

she remembers bobbing for apples this one halloween. getting one on her first try (unlike georgie taylor, who'd damn well took a lifetime). a sore loser (a big, loud-mouthed loser in general) george wasn't too happy about this. and so, he started yammering about how she must've bin cheating 'cause no-one in their right mind was gonna wanna wed a girl like her (the rules bein' that getting an apple on your first try meant you was gonna be wedded to the one you love- silly, silly game). she soon got her own back though, holding his head under and damn near drowning him in the barrel on his next try. after, when the fire and the noise was dying down and she was heading for home, she crossed paths with that quiet adler boy. remembers him saying something, real quiet, about how it had taken taylor so long to get himself an apple- that the apples are 'bout as fond of him as the ladies are! she remembers smiling and laughing some at that. halving an apple with her knife for them to share. talking some more and letting him walk her home. not wanting to go home. the sight of this big, small gesture from the gigantic ingvar and itty bitty hilda brings a smile to her face now. warms her damn heart. ❛ look at these beauties! you are good t' me, ain't you, ingvar? ❜ helping herself gladly to an apple for her steed and another for herself, before throwing one the giant's way. ❛ happy halloween, big feller. say... you ever bin bobbin' fer apples, ing? ❜

FIRST OF ALL no matter how much you WANT to hate this show, you will love it. How do I know this? Well,,, I went into hq WANTING to hate it bc my old friends made fun of me for watching anime 😀 HOWEVer::: about three or four episodes in I said to myself “oh okay so it’s actually good”

SECOND OF ALL:: you WILL fall in love with the characters. Like literally all of them. ALSO their friendships with each other?????? Literally so great I want that kind of friendship in my life.

THIrd OF ALL: no matter how much you hate watching sports.

You WILL care way too much about those volleyball games. you might even catch a glimpse of why cishet men like watching sports so much. 

I kid u not the ADRENALINE???? And my HEART RATE??? Went SWOOSH 📈

Oh man: so i kept looping that clip u reblogged about another angle on km holding hands after jk said “destiny” and the members reactions are cute as hell. Like when tae gave a peanut to nj when he started commenting like “shh let them have this moment” and then there’s jin looking down and then looking back up like he tried to stop himself from snorting bcs call me crazy but the ends of his lips are curved.
