Hermione thought about the stolen glances, his hand that reaches out to her that’s always filled with an assortment of Bertie’s jellybeans, and the way he snickers when she smart mouthed him. Draco’s mind would wander as he fell asleep, picturing Hermione holding her cat as she laughs at something he said, the way her hair flowed in the wind when they’d be up on the astronomy tower, and the one time they’d snuck out past curfew and her finger brushed his in the dark hallways of the castle.

But, it was all just wishful thinking. Wasn’t it?
