MSFT MANAGEMENT ARTIST, PAUL CROFT, CAST IN NEW MUSICAL!

PAUL CROFT will appear in ‘Doodle!’ a new musical on at Waterloo East Theatre in 2018. Paul is an exceptional performer, a great comedy actor and has the voice of an Angel.

‘Doodle!’ an all-singing-all-dancing comedy musical written by American Idol’s Andy Street and actor Jonathan Kydd, and directed by Olivier award nominee Jonathan Moore. The show is a loving pastiche of World War II action movies, with cameo impersonations including Charles Bronson, David Niven, and Sam Kydd, Jonathan’s father, who was in 240 films between 1945 and 1982 (more than any other English actor) in dozens of which he played members of the armed forces.

It is the year 1940. Britain is at war with Nazi Germany. Barnes Wallis, the eventual inventor of the world famous Bouncing Bomb (as featured in the film The Dam Busters – you know, the black and white one where the bomb bounces into the dams?) is kidnapped by the Nazis to build them a Bouncing Submarine. Consequently, a Z team of not-very-good misfits, (like in The Dirty Dozen) including a Mexican cigar salesman, a Sherlock Holmes impersonator, and a ventriloquist is recruited to go on a secret mission to discover whether the threat is real – or just a ridiculous joke. Once they’re on their way, it’s discovered that the threat is so serious, it has the potential to lose Britain the war. (CUE HUGE DOOM LADEN CHORD)

Andy Street, the writer of the music, has composed for TV programmes in over 100 countries. He won an Emmy for the song Madeleine in 2003, was a mentor & associate Musical Director on American Idol, and was recently the MD on Last Laugh in Vegas, the new variety show to be seen on ITV1 on Saturday nights from March.

Director Jonathan Moore has just been working on Invention of Morel (which he co-wrote). He also directed and co-wrote the opera Greek (Munich Biennale and ENO) for which he was nominated for an Olivier. He directed the film version for which he won the Royal Philarmonic Society Award.

Jonathan Kydd who wrote the book and lyrics, worked with Brian Conley (recently in Strictly Come Dancing) in the 90s, writing 25 comedy songs for the 3 series which is where he met Andy. He was Tom in the classic Kids series Pipkins. He’s also done much voice-over work, including Toy Story that Time Forgot, Mr Bean, Paddington Bear, Noddy, Assassin’s Creed, Harry Potter and major advertising campaigns like the original Ferrero Rocher Ambassador’s Reception commercial.

MARIE MYRIE

Marie Myrie began exploring theatre aged 7 at the Pollyanna Training Theatre, East London. She has since continued to work and study in the performance industry, training and working with organizations such as the Lee Strasberg Film and Theatre institution NY, National Youth Theatre, Fourth Monkey and completed a degree at the Bath Spa University.

As well as performing, Marie has written and produced theatre work – her recent work, ROUTE – resulted in a sold out show at Tristan Bates, Covent Garden.

Marie was born and raised in East London and loves to explore people, places and things. She’d like to think of herself as an activist through performance and creativity.

PAULA BLANCO

Paula Blanco is a Spanish actress, from Galicia, who went to Drama School in Spain (ESAD de Galicia) and also did short courses at LAMDA and Identity School of Acting.

After graduating in Performing Arts she decided to move to London to pursue her acting career, where she has lived since 2016. Her recent work includes playing Valentina in the short film ‘Various Ways’ by Georgia Whitehead, and voice over work at Pinewood Studios.

MEGAN AFFONSO

Megan Affonso enjoys a variety of work both on and off screen, and her most recent job was recording The Girl King for Orion Publishing, which can be downloaded on Audible.

She can also be seen in Netflix’s Derren Brown: Sacrifice, and is soon to start recording Marilyn and Me, another audio book.

Megan is also a classically trained musician, playing the cello, piano and singing in folk/rock band The Velveteen Orkestra, who have recently signed a publishing deal. Her cover of David Bowie’s Life On Mars went viral online, and she has performed with the group Madness, as well as being featured on Frank Skinner’s weekend show on Absolute Radio.

REBECCA WARD

Rebecca Ward is currently playing the lead role Sarah in Recollection, a site-specific show by Any One Thing running until April 2019. Rebecca’s theatre credits include, Alice’s Adventures Underground (Olivier nominated, Waterloo Vaults), Inside Pussy Riot, (Les Enfants Terribles/Saatchi Gallery), Back To The Future (Secret Cinema), Bangin’ Wolves, (Courting Drama-Bush Attic), Come See My Show, (Tabard Theatre), Our Four Walls, (Ovalhouse Theatre).

Film and TV credits include; HELP (dir. Sue Dunderdale), Chances (London Short Film), These Four Sides (dir. Jamie Munn). Commercials include, the Duchess in Sky Q Netflix (Stink Films).

Rebecca is also the Artistic Director of her own children’s theatre company, Wind Song Theatre, which premiered its first devised production, Footprints In The Snow, at the Winchester Discovery Centre 2018.

She is fluent in Finnish and is a classically trainer soprano singer. Her performance skills include multi-roling, puppetry, improvisation and devising.

AGATHA EZZEDINE

Agatha Ezzedine has trained for three years at the Actor’s Workshop in Beirut Lebanon and for three years at The Salon: Collective in London in the Meisner Technique. Her training also includes Shakespeare, movement and voice.

Her credits include Aladdin, The State (Channel 4), The Accidental Spy, Claire in The Maids, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Najat in A Day in our Time.

She has appeared in commercials for Paypal, Sky TV, The Red Cross, Mycogen and QVC. Agatha is fluent in Arabic (all dialects as well as standard Arabic), French and English and has played film and theatre parts in all three languages.

ALEXANDER KOTJAKOV

Alexander Kotjakov is a friendly Latvian actor born from Russian parents, he spent most of his younger years traveling the world, practicing martial arts and watching Jackie Chan movies – which cemented his love for cinematography and the craft of acting.

In the pursuit of his passion, Alex relocated to London where he joined Identity School of Acting while taking extra private tutorship classes, and devouring many books, to hone his skills.

Hard work ethic and positive attitude helped him book a role in an upcoming movie Ironbark starring Benedict Cumberbatch, which has helped put him on the radar of top industry casting directors. He is one to watch. Alex is also a qualified personal trainer and seasoned powerlifter, avid martial artist and keen scriptwriter.

PHIL ROSS

After careers in music, concerts, clubs and bars, Phil Ross attended a short Screen Acting course in Spring 2018, before enrolling with Identity School of Acting in Brixton.

While training he gained set experience as an SA on feature films, small roles in TV series, adverts, short films and did recitals for Burns Nights.

In March 2019, he shot his first movie duologue at Nu Boyana Studios, Sofia, Bulgaria for American Night (2019) with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.

In May 2019 Phil made his stage debut in the Lead Role, after initially auditioning for Banquo in Macbeth, at The Merlin Theatre, Frome, Somerset.

Phil is also a professional guitarist touring with iconic 70s punk band Spizzenergi.

RORIE STOCKTON

Born in Swansea, Rorie Stockton is a keen, young Welsh actor, always looking to improve and to push himself into any role. Recently, he has wrapped filming as the lead role in indie feature, Static, playing a troubled musician battling mental illness. Within the last year, he has also enjoyed working on Bad Wolf Productions’ ‘His Dark Materials,’ BBC’s ‘Casualty’ and ‘Warren,’ as well as many other short films.

A highlight in Rorie’s career so far was playing the leading role in WWI short drama, ‘Onions,’ shot in the beautiful mountains of Northern Italy.

DAVID ENGLISH

David English is a Zimbabwean Actor based in London. He is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Previous to this he studied at Tring School for the Performing Arts. His recent credits include Tyler Jackson in Amazon Primes ‘Inside Edge’ and Robin Hood in Douglas Carter Beans Musical ‘Robin Hood’. David trained as a Game Ranger in South Africa before returning to London to purse his acting career. He is a highly skilled diver, guitarist, singer and songwriter.

HARRY ORAM

Harry Oram is a mixed race actor born in Hong Kong with much experience across stage and screen. Harry began his professional acting career at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, where he fully utilised his background is dance, singing and martial arts. He then studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York – there he performed in a number of Off Broadway shows, including several Shakespeare plays for Frog and Peach Theatre company as well as playing the lead Hercules in Central Park.

His passion for film led him to Hollywood before he returned to Hong Kong where his family was still based. Harry worked in the asian film industry with stars such as Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen and Chow Yun Fat.

He also involved himself in the local theatre and arts scene. Always desiring to return to the West, Harry found his opportunity when performing as the lead actor for Secret Theatre, which he did so in a number of shows in Hong Kong, Singapore and London.

OISIN NOLAN

Oisin Nolan is an Irish actor who recently moved to London to study at Drama Centre London. He graduated with an MA in Screen Acting. Previous to this he has studied at The Gaiety School of Acting and The Irish Film Academy. His recent credits include ‘Plums’ directed by Lauren Blackwell and ‘Blood Sweat and Years’ directed by Adam O’Byrne which recently picked up the Spotlight award at The Elevation Film Festival.

Oisin is a highly skilled guitarist, having played it for over 14 years; he also enjoys playing Bass, Ukulele and Piano.

CRISPIAN BELFRAGE

Crispian Belfrage trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, since then he has been involved in over 45 films and has worked in television, stage, radio and VO work. He has worked through Europe and the United States as he holds a US passport.

He further studied in Los Angeles under Arthur Mendoza with the Stella Adler Technique, Meisner Technique with Jeff Goldblum and is currently a member of the Ivana Chubbuck Acting Studio.

Crispian Belfrage has worked opposite stars such as Richard Harris, Christian Bale, Aidan Quinn, Beau Bridges and Andie MacDowell.
