@montclair asked, " what aren’t you telling me ? "
over the years? a great many things, honestly. none of it malicious. no, never that. at least not where baldwin was concerned. gallowglass respected the de claremont as a war leader; as someone who was willing to do whatever it took in order to protect the family. did it always make sense? no. but, then again, it was made abundantly clear in the early years of gallow's immortality that he didn't need to worry about the nuances of certain political machinations. he was very clearly chosen for his imposing figure and physical strength.
both phillipe and matthew had always been overly eager to use him as such.
scrunching his nose, the vampire doesn't dare say any of that. they all had their parts to play. gallowglass was not subtle by any stretch of the imagination but, he also knew when to keep his mouth shut. some stones didn't need to be unturned just like all the ghosts of his immortality didn't need to be spoken about. they were his weights to bare, especially since baldwin had so many of his own to worry about.
" astoria may have been concerned about a felony, " he chooses to say, instead. there was nothing serious. genuinely. some days gallowglass simply found himself too deep in his own thoughts to be his normal jolly self.
" when i saw her a few days ago for tattoos, i mean. but it wasn't, " the blonde's eyebrows pinch together as the whole felony definition starts playing in his head over again. " i'm pretty confident it wasn't, anyway. i just helped someone with a lil nappy nap after they were rude to a fair lady, that's all. " the taller man shrugs his shoulders. " clearly he was cranky. definitely not a felony to help someone remember their manners, i'm sure. "
