Cursed/Corrupted Kwamis AU/OC:

Maxima, Cursed Lion Kwami of Conquering and Tyranny.

Alright y'all, here is more lore for my original AU and OCs of corrupted/cursed Miraculous'. This one is for Maxima, which I mentioned in my post about Yaotl. If y'all are interested and want to know what the main lore is behind why these Miraculous and Kwamis are corrupted, please go to my original post below. Otherwise it won't make sense. XD

Maxima is heavily integrated with Roman History so if you like that stuff and Miraculous, I highly recommend you take a read.

Oh, and this AU is basically just non-canon lore that adds to the past of MLB that wasn't put into depth. I'm not affecting canon lore in anyway and I'm trying to make it melt seamlessly into the background of Kwamis and human history. Just think of it as non-canon world building. Now, because I'm putting history, culture, and more unstable concepts to make this, this isn't going to be at the same level as the kids show. In my opinion, the rating needs to be moved up juuuust a little bit more so that the writers can make much better conflicts and villains.

So, that's what my non-canon lore does. It doesn't interfere and melts seamlessly into the lore without screwing up anything canon.

Maxima, the Corrupted Lioness Kwami: Maxima is one of the oldest Kwamis that originated on Earth. She came to be in the beginning of the Roman Empire, when the Roman Republic was still around. With a laurel wreath on her head and a ordinate buckle to make her stand out, Maxima very quickly settled into her role of protecting the Roman Republic and quickly adopted lots of Roman values. Originally known for being the Kwamis of Courage, she was incredibly happy with the arrangement. At some point, her miraculous was used by the Roman Senate to spread their influence and keep the peace.

Maxima had a very authority and serious based attitude on life, often ordering others around and never tolerating anything silly or ridiculous. She took great pride in what she did always and appreciated the fine things Rome had to offer.

The day when she met Julius Caesar changed everything. At the time, the Roman Senate was becoming very unstable due to many factors. For example, political violence became a tool and the norm as lots of corruption was going on. When Maxima met Caesar, she actually greatly admired his ambition and how he grew in power and influence so quickly.

Caesar was a general and had just openly defied the Senate by marching his army right into Rome, starting the Civil War that he would win. Caesar found the Lioness miraculous, where he met Maxima for the first time.

Although she was attached to the Senate, she thought Caesar's authority and ambition would be a good thing for the Romans as a whole. He had greatly helped spread influence and territory already and even invaded Britain! His audacity was most unprecedented but... Maxima really liked that.

And thus, Maxima let Caesar be the holder of her miraculous and in return, Caesar spoiled her with honeyed wine, meats, and even got her to love asparagus. Naturally, Caesar won his Civil War, making him at unprecedented power for years. All thanks to Maxima.

Maxima had an extremely close relationship with Caesar, as she began to think of him less as a holder and more of a father figure. He was the only one she got very soft with, as she would even let him pet her when he was sitting on his throne or in the Senate room. Although she despised most touch, Caesar reminded her of the father she never had. She came to be alone in the world, without anyone to tell her what she was or what she was supposed to do. With Caesar, she felt like she belonged.

It was also at this point when Caesar had an affair with Cleopatra, where Maxima met Sobek, the Crocodile Kwami. While Caesar was busy with her in Alexandria, Maxima and Sobek bonded really well. Although their cultures were different, they both appreciated the ambition and power their holders possessed. When Cleopatra and Caesar ended up both having a son together named Caesarion, wether planned or not, Maxima and Sobek were absolutely overjoyed. They both loved seeing the child and protected him with their powers. Unfortunately, it was not to last, as the Tyranny of Caesar would soon come to its tragic apex.

Although Caesar reformed the Republic, he was actually very arrogant and even distain to others in his ranks. He often did things himself and completely disregarded the need to vote of his political actions. Soon enough, in 44 B.C, Caesar was declared a dictator for life by the Senate. A few months later was the day that would change Maxima forever.

At the time, Maxima was playing with Caesarion with Sobek. Cleopatra was staying as a guest in one of Caesar's villas so Maxima and Sobek got to play with the little one almost constantly. They were family and poor Caesarion as only 3 when it happened.

Suddenly, Maxima felt a stabbing pain in her chest. Then another, and another, and another. Maxima's eyes went wide as he bond with Caesar was so strong that she could feel something was terribly wrong. She had sensed and heard the soothsayers say that the Isles of March would be a bad day for Caesar, but this was devastating. Ordering Sobek to protect Cleopatra and Caesarion, Maxima rushed as soon as possible to the Senate, feeling more pain blossom in her chest. In her mind, the realization that he wasn't wearing her miraculous was repeating over and over and over.

By the time she got their, it was too late. Caesar lied dead with 23 stab wounds in front of a statue of his former rival. The Senate was in absolute chaos as those who were conspiring were absolutely shocked. Maxima barely noticed however as she floated close to Caesar's body. Grabbing the bloody front of his toga, Maxima let out and anguished cry, "CAESAR!!!"

Maxima had never cried or shown such emotion before. The sorrow immediately turned into pure anger for vengeance as she shouted, forgetting that no one could hear her without wearing the miraculous, "Fools! Don't run around, help him! Help Father!" Her shouts dissolved into a sob at the word father. She had never called him that before, not out loud. Now he would never know.

Suddenly, Maxima heard a grating laugh behind her. One of pure madness, treachery, and amusement. Maxima snapped her head behind her to see Maligna, the Corrupted Kwami of Madness and Traitors. Still having the blood of Caesar on her chest, Maxima shouted, "You! You did this! You couldn't resist stirring the pot could you!? You have ruined everything!!!"

Maligna just cackled with manic intensity, floating upsidedown as if this was the most normal thing in the world, "Oh hush, pussycat! Your little tyrant was sooooo boring! This entire court is boring! I just needed to have some fun."

"Fun? FUN!? YOUR NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE! YOUR SUPPOSED TO BE IN AFRICA! MY FATHER IS DEAD, YOU PSYCHO! AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT, YOU- YOU-"

Maligna just shrugged before she casually took a bite out of a bloodstained grape. Speaking with food in her mouth, she grinned, "Come on... You don't realize what we are do you? We are beings made from concepts and that's all we are! Your daddy would have died either way, wether it be today or not. In a way ... I did this for you! No attachments! Isn't that best for a ruler as uptight as yourself? Brutus took a little visit to Africa and because I was dyiiiiing of boredom, I hitched a ride and maybe whispered some encouragement for the old geezer!"

Maxima's breathing sped up as her cat eyes slitted with deeper rage and anguish. Maxima started to have a red aura around her as her fangs seemed to sharpen with hate, "You did this because of boredom? You encouraged the betrayal of the only man I have ever truly let into my heart simply for your amusement!? I'LL KILL YOU, DAMPNAS PRODITORIS!!!"

Maxima launched herself at Maligna before she could even blink. Maxima's maw made contact with Maligna's shoulder before she bit down hard as possible, aiming to kill. Kwamis can't die or kill eachother, but they can be scarred. Maligna screamed in agony as glowing yellow blood spilled from the wound in droves. She kicked Maxima away as her face twisted from amusement to pure distain and a grimace from the pain, "Dumb cat... Kwamis can't die! I-"

Maligna hissed as her wound burned. It didn't heal immediately like it was supposed to, no, it was like Maxima's anger was refusing it from healing all the way, as a permanent scar bloomed on her shoulder. Maligna looked around, realizing she was greatly outdone by Maxima. This was her domain and her father figure was dead. There would be hell to pay.

With that, Maligna fled, phasing through the wall as some glowing yellow blood lingered. This was a first time a Kwami had ever been physically injured by another and to leave a physical mark. Maxima growled slightly before turning her attention back to Caesar, her anger turning right back to grief again. Maxima lied down on his stabbed chest and just let go. She sobbed as glowing red tears dripped from her eyes and onto Caesar. She whispered over and over and over again, "Come back... By the gods... Let my father come back... I love you... Please... Just let me win..."

But nobody came.

Maxima changed from that day forward. She grew so much colder and lost any tolerance she had. After Caesar's death, the traitors didn't get the freedom and celebration they wanted. The public was dead silent in shock and horror about what was done. Soon enough, outrage started as the Senate became completely undone. This when Maxima snapped.

Maxima forced a transformation and control over Octavian, the adopted son of Caesar. Using his body and using her miraculous to put him into absolute submission, she acted as the avenger of Caesar and hunted down every single one of people she deemed traitors to Caesar.

This was the first time any Kwami had ever used their powers to control a holder directly for their own gain. They say that because of this, this sparked the idea among more volatile Kwamis that they didn't have to follow every command of their holders. They were the ones lending their powers in the first place right? So it was only fair that they could get what they want as well. Naturally, this practice became punishable by locking them in the Shadow Vault, as it completely violated protecting humanity.

This is when the corruption started for Maxima, her powers shifted into absolute obedience and authority as she ordered Brutus and Cassius to kill themselves, using the same dagger they used to stab Caesar. Soon enough, all those involved were either murdered, executed, or committed suicide due to Maxima's influence.

Maxima even went after Cleopatra after she found out she had a new lover, Mark. She took this as infidelity and was outraged. After forcing Mark to kill himself, she tried to do the same to Cleopatra but she had already done it on her own free will to not be captured by Octavian. At the time, Sobek had a new holder, who was actually Caesarion. Octavian ended up killing Caesarion, much to Maxima's dismay. When Octavian died of old age, Maxima didn't feel any remorse for him.

As the years went by and new Roman Emperors came down the line, Maxima started to see the consequences of her actions by manipulating her holders. Along with increased appetite, resentment, and irrational states, her holders started to go mad. When she wasn't in control, the Roman Emperor's minds started to unravel, and with other harmful factors like lead, it only worsened their mental states. The madness of Caligula and Nero are the most notable of these mad Emperors.

As the years went by, her most infamous emperor she controlled was Commodus. The Colosseum had been having an increase of popularity and Maxima wanted to give it a try herself. She became absolutely addicted to the arena and for the first time since Caesar's death, she was actually having fun and enjoying herself. It was at this point when the corruption started to affect her holders physically.

Commodus soon started to match the lions in the Colosseum as the cat ears, wild hair like a mane, tail, and claws all became a permanent part of his features. He became the first lion man and spread this onto his illegitimate children, which led to his assassination. This was one of the first races that were created by the corrupted and cursed miraculous.

Maxima truly lost influence when Christianity started the gain prominence in the Roman Empire. She ended up getting kicked out by Elisha, the Corrupted Sheep Kwami of Zealots and Judgement. He greatly disliked and showed great distain for Maxima because she still held on hard to old Roman values and refused to convert in the name of the Lord. In the end, Maxima watched the fall of the Roman Empire soon after that, watching it split in two before it dissolved all together.

Maxima blames Maligna mostly for the fall of Rome, but she also blames Elisha, although she mostly hates Maligna.

Maxima purposely went into a deep sleep, thinking she had no purpose now that the Romans were gone. About a thousand years later, she was accidentally found by Yaotl, the Cursed Kwami of Rage and Sacrifice.

I will write out this interaction later, I promise XD

Maxima then spent most of her time with Yaotl and even fought with him in a few wars before they were discovered by the non-corrupted Kwamis like Tikki and Plagg. They were then locked away in the Shadow Vault, along with many of the other corrupted Kwamis.

Maxima's weapons for her holder is a gladius sword and a Roman shield. Because they are magically infused, they are unbreakable and much sharper. The Roman Shield is also bullet proof. Here is a lovely picture so y'all know what a gladius looks like.

The Corrupted Lion Miraculous looks like a necklace with a Roman coin with Caesar's face on it dangling from the end. Although miraculous can change shape to hide in plain sight, Maxima will always have Caesar present on her miraculous unless she finally lets go of her grief.

Maxima's special superpower is activated when their holder shouts, "Obey me!" When this is done, the holder can make one to five people obey them like a soldier would for 30 minutes to an hour. The strength of this power depends on how worthy or dominant Maxima thinks their holder is. If the holder is young like a teenager or meek, only one person can be controlled at a time. If a person has a strong enough will or strong mental defense, they can possibly break through, it all depends of how much influence Maxima has. This doesn't really make the person submissive, it makes a person act like a soldier at someone's command.

Like all corrupted and cursed miraculous, Maxima gives her holder the strength, speed, and unfortunately, the hunger of a lion. These powers are very addictive as it can affect both physical and mental traits such as making someone more authoritative and ambitious. Because so much strength and energy is being used, the holder will need to eat a lot of meat and protein to make up for it.

To summon and use the Lioness miraculous, the holder must shout, "Maxima, At my Command!" To cancel or stop the ability, the holder must say, "Maxima, stand down." It is possible for Maxima to not obey this command if she doesn't respect her welder.

I just realized that I'm unintentionally teaching y'all history with this stuff. XD
