[Pets] What pets would they have?

Wei Wuxian has a cat (Chartreux) named Subian that followed him home one night. She had a broken tail and curled up under his car, he found her sleeping and (after calling his sister) took her to the vet. She had no chip or collar and Wei Wuxian decided to keep her.

Lan Wangji has two bunnies, Cream (white) and Cookies (brown) . He had always wanted rabbits, however his parents and then his uncle did not want pets in the house. Once he moved out he intended to adopt one rabbit, but when he met Cream and her bonded mate Cookies he had to take both of them.

Nie Mingjue has a dog (Doberman Pinscher) named Baxia, she is a retired police dog he adopted much to his brother's protest as they had been taken to adopt a new family pet together, Nie Huaisang wanted a cat.

Lan Xichen has fish, all named after his favourite book authors. He initially got a fish after a suggestion from his coworker that having a low maintenance pet would be good for his mental health. After doing more research he quickly bought a bigger and more expensive tank, then realised his fish may be lonely and bought him some friends.

MDZS AU where Jiang Cheng realizes that Lan Sizhui is the Wen orphan that Wei Wuxian took care off during the Burial Mounds arc, decides that's close enough to qualify him as Nephew, declares that no Nephew of His (much less a surrogate son of Wei Wuxian's) is going to be raised in the Cloud Recedes, and immediately launches into a custody battle with Lan Wangji.

But since neither Jiang Cheng or Lan Wangji can acknowledge that Sizuhi has any connection to Wei Wuxian, both begin steadfastly and stubbornly insisting that he is a Cultivator of peerless potential and skill and he belongs in their sect thank you very much, and would clearly be very unhappy in the other's. This confuses the hell out of the already mystified Cultivation world, who had barely adjusted yet to gossiping about Sizhui being Wangji's illegitimate child by mysterious love affair.

(Eventually the common consensus in the rumor mills is that both JC and LW where in love with Sizhui's mother and both believe themselves to be Sizhui's real father.)

(LW couldn't care less what gossips say, but JC has to bite his tongue till it bleeds to avoid telling anyone the truth in a fit of anger.)

(It was Nie Huaisang who put that rumor out in the first place, partly to troll JC, partly because, in a way, it's a little true.)

NO one else seems to notice, is he going insane? ...it deserved a post on its own 💚💛💙

Lan Jingyi later finds out that the glowing eyes isn't just for aesthetic purposes. It actually enhances spiritual sight and he ends up scaring himself silly with all the malicious and non malicious ghosts that he can see in his immediate vicinity.

He then goes back to Wei Wuxian because he can't seem to turn off this ability with how much freaking out he is doing.

Wei Wuxian actually didn't know that this could happened because he thought it was just a regular side effect of his guidao and it's not like he looks into a mirror while playing his flute. He was actually joking about the red eyes as a conscious aesthetic choice.

He manages to help Jingyi turn off the glowing eyes and Lan Jingyi swears to not learn new things just to scare Jin Ling again.

"Wei-qianbei, why do your eyes turn red when you use your cultivation?" Jingyi asks as he, Sizhui, Hanguang-Jun and Wei Ying sharing a meal at an inn after a successful night hunt. "Does resentful energy manifest this way or is it some cool technique?"

"Nothing like that!" Wei Ying waves his chopsticks. "I just thought it would look cool if I could do it, so when I invented the ghost path, I incorporated it!"

Jingyi blinked at him twice, Sizhui and Lan Zhan sighed quietly.

"But... I don't remember Xue Yang having red eyes..."

"Of course not! That's my thing only! How else would people know I'm the Yiling Patriarch?"

Sizhui piped in. "The Ghost General?"

Lan Zhan added "Chenqing?"

Sizhui again. "Hanguang-Jun?"

Wei Ying rolled his eyes and laughed. "You guys are no fun! I need an artistic license, don't I? And anyway, red eyes make me more terrifying! You little ones are forgetting I invented my cultivation during war time! It's really important to intimidate your opponents!"

"Well can you teach me how? I wanna scare young mistress Jin next time he pisses me off!"

"Lan Jingyi."

As if he'd been doused in cold water, Jingyi paled and straightened up. "H-Hanguang-Jun... I... um..."

"It's fine, it doesn't actually take much of anything to do it, so if Hanguang-Jun allows it..."

Lan Wangji looked to his husband, then to a starry eyed Lan Jingyi, sighed and poured himself a cup of wine.

Lan Jingyi cheered so loud that Sizhui had to cover his ears. "Yay!"

Prompt - Bad Habits

Jiang Cheng started smoking as a teen. He swore it was just for fun, that he just smoked a little at house parties or after school but as he got older the more he relied on smoking to relieve stress.

Wei Wuxian was the first to find out, after creeping into his room and looking through his wardrobe for his missing favourite hoodie Wuxian found 2 packs of cigarettes under a pile of sweaters. He was shocked, but after talking to Jiang Cheng he agreed to keep it a secret, even helping distract their family so he could sneak out to the backyard to smoke.

Yanli was less accepting, finding him sitting outside a party smoking with Nie Huaisang. She asked when he started smoking (14), why he was smoking (he was just stressed) and how often he was smoking (not that much). She was disappointed but he was 17 now and she trusted him to make good decisions, only asking him to try to cut down.

That changed when Yanli announced her pregnancy. After a few days Yanli asked Jiang Cheng to come over for lunch, she sat him down and very calmly said he would have to stop smoking or she would have to restrict how much he was around the baby. She wouldn't risk second hand smoke for the baby and for her own health. It was shocking but Jiang Cheng immediately agreed, cutting down over the 9 months, using nicotine patches and only smoking when he was home alone.
