What I Quickly Thought about What If...? Season Two
For those who donā€™t know, Iā€™m one of the few people who actually enjoyed What Ifā€¦? Season One for what it was. Did it take advantage of telling interesting tales with the MCU, giving us intense glimpses of these universes that showed us what COULD HAVE been? Not all the time. Was it still good dumb fun? To me it was. And thatā€™s pretty much what What Ifā€¦?, as a concept, was, even in the comics. Yeah, you got interesting stuff like ā€œWhat if Spider-Man never became a crime fighter?ā€ or ā€œWhat if Daredevil was raised by The Kingpin?ā€ but it also had stuff like ā€œWhat if the Original Marvel Bullpen Became the Fantastic Four?ā€ or ā€œWhat if Sargent Fury Fought World War Two in Outer Space?ā€ The comics were less about high-concepts and more about writers doing whatever the hell they wanted with the Marvel Universe and being able to have fun with it because, well, none of it was canon. The same applied to the MCUā€™s What Ifā€¦?, as it was a chance for the writers to do a murder mystery with the Avengers or make Tā€™Challa fix the universe as Star-Lord. They can kill characters, make dumb(er) jokes, and play around with the heroes and villains in the MCU like they were action figures. And Iā€™m into that. Donā€™t get me wrong, I would love more episodes like ā€œWhat ifā€¦Doctor Strange lost his heart instead of his hands?ā€ or ā€œWhat ifā€¦Ultron won?ā€ as they DO have a lot of great moments and show off what these characters are capable of than what the movies/shows proved. But at the same time, I didnā€™t mind watching the big buff lady that is Captain Carter kill Nazis or watch Spider-Man and a band of heroes try to survive a zombie apocalypse. Itā€™s a show where everyone is meant to just sit back, turn their brain off, and have some fun while occasionally getting something interesting. Again, just like the comics.
So when Season Two got announced, I was genuinely excited. I like Season One and I wanted more of it. Then when the trailer came out with an episode list, I thought, ā€œOkay, this could be the show embracing comic book wackiness.ā€ Now, not a lot of people were into thatā€¦In fact, the majority said that a lot of these concepts werenā€™t even interesting and were, instead, kind of lame. I donā€™t get it, maybe because Iā€™m in the exact mindset the MCU wants me to have with this series, but I was still looking forward to Season Two. The question is, was it worth it? Well, letā€™s quickly go over each episode to find out.
Spoilers Ahead
What Ifā€¦Nebula Joined the Nova Corps?: Ooooooooh, what a great start. Watching Nebula act as a cop/detective, but with her cold, deadpan badassery still intact was a ton of fun in this dark, gritty setting made for this new version of her. I loved watching this new version of Nebula make her way through a darkened Xandar, with her never straying from this oath and acting as it should be intended, all while teaming up with Howard the Duck of all characters. Like, I kind of enjoy seeing Howard turn out to be this sleazy casino owner who treats Nebula as a true friend despite them working on opposite ends of the law. The concept itself is funny and execution is endearing with Seth Green giving much needed charm to the character. Itā€™s part of the fun of What Ifā€¦?: Showing characters who couldnā€™t interact in the movies or didnā€™t have much screen time and allowing them another chance to shineā€¦Unfortunately, thatā€™s not always a good thing. Because while I love seeing a character like Howard make a surprisingly good comeback, watching Yon-Rog, one of the more boring MCU villains, show up and lack any intrigue or fun is justā€¦no. And then thereā€™s Nova Prime who decided to betray the entire Corp by taking down the force fieldā€¦Something that was HER idea to do and, given the pull she had, could have done at any point. Why string Nebula along when Nova Prime could have just made the ruling herself that the force field needed to be taken down? A friend of mine tried explaining how it could make sense, but I donā€™t know. It doesnā€™t change this weird got while watching. But while flawed, it was pretty cool to see this new setting in the MCU, carried by Nebula as the Super Nova (Love that name, by the way. Itā€™s perfect). The plot has a big olā€™ hole, not every character return works, but it gave me a half-hour of fun so Iā€™m not complaining (Get used to that thought process, by the way).
What Ifā€¦Peter Quill Attacked Earthā€™s Mightiest Heroes?: And this oneā€™s a little rough around the edges. Itā€™s fun to see this alternate version of the Avengers form to fight a Peter Quill who has Egoā€™s powers, but it feels like the entire episode is on fast-forward, almost like this is what would happen if the first Avengers movie needed to be made thirty-minutes long. Itā€™s sort of the downside of What If having a half-hour runtime, where it has to both tell a story and introduce us to this new universe in under thirty minutes. Itā€™s the same with the comics that had less than thirty pages to do the exact same thing, only to feel longer because comic writers in the seventies and eighties donā€™t know how to shut the hell up. The end result is a story thatā€™s fine ENOUGH, but it would have benefited with more time to slow down and let us appreciate this new team of old heroes. I mean, we have the original Captain Mar-Vel, Tā€™Challaā€™s father, and even Goliath, which would have been AWESOME to see them play a big role. But instead, the episode focuses on Hank Pym, Bucky, and THOR, somehow, making these other heroes valued members but also a bit of an afterthought. Also, despite this being a different version of the Avengers, they somehow make MORE quips than the original team, with few of it feeling like itā€™s in character. It has the same problem as Age of Ultron where everyone is cracking jokes at every second as much as they can, and it HIGHLY depends on your willingness to stomach that kind ofĀ  thing if youā€™re willing to watch this episode. That and if youā€™re willing to forgive a character doing this STUPID AND RISKY thing that worked out for the better but doesnā€™t change how stupid and risky it is. Overall, this whole episode is a very interesting idea mixed with some very FLAWED execution that spoils the fun to be had.
What Ifā€¦Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?: Now this? All kinds of fun to be had with this one. The return of Justin Hammer of all villains isnā€™t something I thought I needed, but I heavily enjoyed watching whatā€™s basically the anti-Tony Stark show up and be his most despicably charming self. It was a blast to watch this scrawny little twink TRY and act intimidating as he dances all over the place. It makes him feel more and more like a cartoon villain, which is appropriate for yuletide fun. You donā€™t NEED a menacing presence for Christmas, you need a GOOF. And Hammerā€™s the goofiest with his lame catchphrases and very STUPID dancing, I couldnā€™t get enough of it. But the real star is Happy, who gets juiced up for an adaptation I NEVER would have expected from the MCU. The Freak is one of the sides to Happy that not many fans would know about unless theyā€™ve immersed themselves with Iron Man lore (Or read a shit load of comics for the past two years like me), but it really is cool to see that side of him brought to life. The way Happy looks and moves like more of a manic Hulk on crack does great at setting him apart from the Jolly Green Monster we know and love, but also makes The Freak feel more unique from how he was in the comics. It was a blast of a holiday special with the only downside is that Darcyā€™s OCCASIONALLY annoying. Not much other than that, though, as this is the best Christmas present I could ask from Marvel.
What Ifā€¦Iron Man Crashed Into the Grandmaster?: Fun fact, this was originally meant to be in Season One but was cut due to time constraints. Yeah, remember how weird it was that the Watcher plucked a version of Gamora we didnā€™t know? Well, now we finally knowā€¦through a story thatā€™s primarily about Tony Stark that makes me wonder why the hell The Watcher didnā€™t take him.
But facts and jokes aside, I loved the shit out of this episode. There are probably going to be some cynics out there saying that the cars and the race is an excuse to sell toys or LEGO sets or some shit, but I donā€™t care because everything about it was AWESOME!. Not to mention that it lit up a special place in my heart and brain to watch Tony Stark be a hero again, not hesitating to save lives, putting everything on the line, and helping bring Gamora into the light, all while still being his snarky, Starky self. And huge props to Mick Wingert voicing him, who doesnā€™t sound like Robert Downy Jr at ALL, but still nails the energy and mannerisms. I can picture RDJ saying all of these lines and it helps make this feel like one last Iron Man story for the fans. Seeing the Grandmaster again was ALSO a plus, as he was his same goofy-self. As for the real hook of this episode, Gamora, sheā€™sā€¦fine. I donā€™t love that itā€™s Tony that helped her redemption arc since I always preferred how turning against Thanos was something Gamora decided for herself instead of this thing that someone brought out. Itā€™s not a BAD idea, but itā€™s something that might have worked better with NEBULA, a character that could actually USE convincing, instead of Gamora, a character who would likely go to Stark to help kill Thanos. Still, I donā€™t HATE it, nor do I hate the episode. It was an adrenaline thrill-ride that gave us a return of Tony where he DOESNā€™T die in the end. I couldnā€™t have asked for more if I heard this episodeā€™s title, and Iā€™m glad itā€™s what weā€™ve got.
What Ifā€¦Captain Carter Fought the Hydra Stomper?: Iā€¦KIND OF understand the reception towards Captain Carter. I donā€™t get why Marvel keeps pushing her more than their actual Captain America replacement, Sam Wilson. I mean, Captain Carter showed up in three projects (two seasons of television and a movie), where Sam made his official appearance as Captain America onceā€¦and hasnā€™t even cameoed in any other movie or show. Now, donā€™t get me wrong, I like the big buff lady and itā€™s awesome seeing her fight the giant robot. Itā€™s cool, I love it. I also heavily enjoyed this episode, getting into the drama, action, and seeing Peggy make a surprisingly believable friendship with Black Widow. Heck, Iā€™d go so far as to say that this is a better Black Widow story than her actual movie gave us. So I like it, I like seeing Captain Carter and some of her adventures. I especially like that this story isnā€™t a direct rehash of Winter Soldier like how the first episode is a rehash of First Avenger. The writers actually set out to make something more unique and it makes me like Captain Carter a little more. I just wish we could get that same love and appreciation towards Sam Wilson, whose movie got pushed back to 2025 and will count as the only time this character has been relevant since his mini-series. If this is our new leader of the Avengers and the man who will fight to save the multiverse, weā€™re probably going to need more than one appearance from the guy. I donā€™t think people would complain about more Captain Carter if Sam Wilsonā€™s Captain America wasnā€™t so blatantly shoved too far to the side.
What Ifā€¦Kahhori Reshaped the World?: One of the few rare times the MCU made an ORIGINAL superhero. There is no previous comic, movie, or show that Kahhori is based on. Sheā€™s a completely original character made up for this franchise, much like Miles Morales in the Ultimate universe or X-23 in X-Men Evolution (Check that show out, by the way. Itā€™s pretty damn good). And just like those two, I REALLY hope Kahhori manages to become such a hit with audiences that she spawns more content, because Kahhori and her world is something I would love to revisit. Her personality is fun, her motivation is inspiring, and her powers are unique enough to make her stand out more to the other heroes in the MCU. As for her story, itā€™s your bare-bones origin story. The whole episode is about explaining her powers, the world she lives in, and the people she loves and fights for. It does all this while proving her heroics through fighting a supervillain set out to do some damage. Only, instead of some generic supervillain that matches her powers itā€™s this Spanish Conquistador whoā€¦honestly still looks like a supervillain, which is kind of funny. And it works for Kahhori, proving that while sheā€™s currently the most powerful person in the world, sheā€™s willing to fight against oppression and the monarchy, advocating for peace instead of a continuous war for who gains the most control. Like I said, thatā€™s inspiring and itā€™s why I want to see more of this character and how far she can go when fighting bigger, more evil threats than the Queen of Spain. Whether itā€™s a spin-off TV show/movie, a comic mini-series, or even introducing Kahhori into the 616 comics (somehow), I wouldnā€™t mind seeing this new, wonderful hero more in the future.
What Ifā€¦Hela Found the Ten Rings?: Iā€¦did not expect to like this one as much as I did. I wasnā€™t the BIGGEST fan of Hela, because aside from seeing her actress having a blast to go full ham, there wasnā€™t much to her. Yeah, she was this conqueror alongside Odin, which is an interesting backstory for HIM, but for Hela, itā€™s not enough. Instead of telling me WHO she is, Thor: Ragnarok kept telling me WHAT she was. Then here comes an episode of What Ifā€¦? that not only gives me that answer, but a lot more. Sure, the first half is a bit wonky, but when we get to the second, we finally get an idea of who Hela is. Simply put, Hela doesnā€™t know who she is beyond a conqueror, and thatā€™s because Odin never trained nor raised her to be anything more. This episode forces Hela to face that and discover answers she never knew she was seeking, having a surprisingly decent redemption, becoming a goddess of life instead of death. Iā€¦love that. I love that WAY MORE than I could have expected to love it. It makes me appreciate Hela a lot more and maybe see that thereā€™s a tragedy to her in Thor: Ragnarok. Hela could have changed for the better if she met someone that could bring her good side out, but because she was banished into isolation by Odin, it caused Hela to be both spiteful and vengeful, making her refuse any alternative beyond being a conqueror or a goddess of death, with her final acts of life being someone who destroyed her home because destruction was all she knew. This episode has a better, more unique story to tell than Hela and Wenwu fighting over the Ten Rings to see who can cause more destruction. Speaking of, if thereā€™s one thing to complain about the episode, itā€™s how underutilized Wenwu is to the story. Heā€™s actually one of MY favorite MCU villains and it feels weird that heā€™s justā€¦kind of there? Most of the meat to the story goes to Hela, and I do appreciate it, but Wenwu could have done more than wanting to bone Hela or assisting her in fighting Odin. But aside from that, Iā€™d still say that this is a fantastic episode that surpassed my expectations.
What Ifā€¦The Avengers Assembled in 1602?: Of all the episodes, this is the one I was looking forward to the most. Iā€™m a sucker for seeing characters in a different setting. Theyā€™re very much the same in terms of personality but their differences vary from positions in life or the skills theyā€™re capable of. Itā€™s no different here, as so much of this feels like a period piece fanfic where the writers seemed to have so much fun making the Avengers be in 1602. And I donā€™t give a shit if people hate her, I LOVE that Captain Carter refuses to leave this world until she saves it from complete collapse. It would have been the same if it was Steve Rogers, I get that, but how do you expect me to hate a hero whoā€™s willing to fight with her last breath to save the world? Those are my favorite kind of superheroes! You want me to give up what I love most about superheroes just because you donā€™t like that the big buff lady fights King Thor and his vibranium thunder sword? F**k you.
Also, this comes with the added benefit of watching big buff Steve and big buff Peggy constantly being on the VERGE of wanting to rip their clothes off and f**k each other whenever theyā€™re on screen together. And, honestly, I can't blame them. Theyā€™re both gorgeous. LET THEM F**K!
Overall, I had fun, even if there are problems. Sure, the reveal that Steve is indirectly the cause of this universeā€™s collapse is way too predictable, no thanks in large part to the trailers SPOILING IT! And itā€™s pretty weird that Scott can still shrink and grow. Likeā€¦How can he do that in this setting? Also, this universe has a merry band of misfits thatā€™s similar to Robin Hood, and thereā€™s not even a SINGLE Hawkeye in it? Not even Kate Bishop? COME ON NOW! Come on nowā€¦
But, yeah, this episode is the perfect epitome of what makes What Ifā€¦? enjoyable to me. It can offer you a fun concept of having the Avengers be in 1602 and just ask you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Not everyoneā€™s going to be into that, but I am and I could take ten more seasons of this if I could.
What Ifā€¦Strange Supreme Intervened?: You want me to hate the big buff lady and new MCU character Kahhori fighting Strange Supreme and a whole gaggle of universe killers just because *checks notes* Captain Carter is a Mary Sue? F**k you. I donā€™t care if you feel like Captain Carter is forced upon you, she punched a demonic Doctor Strange in the face with the power of INFINITY. That is awesome no matter WHO the character is and if you canā€™t appreciate it, then I guess this show really isnā€™t for you. As for the finale, the whole thing is awesome as this big fireworks show to close out the season, added with Strange Supreme going back to the dark side for the sake of reviving his universe. Iā€™ll admit that Strange Supreme had a bit of a forced redemption last season, so it is great for this finale to prove that he is, in fact, still twisted inside while allowing him to earn a more true redemption in making up for his actions. It makes his tragedy STILL feel like a tragedy, giving everyone but him a happy ending. And, again, he got punched in the face with the power of infinity. F**k all you haters, this showā€™s great.
Season Two is a definite improvement to Season One. Sure, the pacing is wonky, the jokes are trying too hard, and animation can look gorgeous at times but ugly at others. But the writingā€™s stronger, the concepts are bigger, the funā€™s funner, and I got to see a woman punch a demon in the face with the power of infinityā€“I keep bringing that up because it is so damn awesome. And itā€™s the same with this show! It just fuels that part of my brain that wants to see cool, comic book shit happening. Itā€™s not for everyone, I know that. Itā€™s neither good nor bad, itā€™s justā€¦subjectively fun. Itā€™ll either light up your world or leave you wanting more substance than dumb fun. I enjoyed the hell out of this season, but others wonā€™t for their own reasons (some of them being that they just hate Captain Carter). They can feel that way all they want. Still wonā€™t change how I enjoyed the hell out of this season and look forward to more.

Feels that she as a goddess she has every right to your love and you she wants you to completely give yourself to her and she promises youā€™ll enjoy it. Sheā€™s so protective and doesnā€™t like when she feels that your drifting away from her because of someone wether that be a superhero of some sort trying to save you or your friends telling you how sheā€™s too toxic for you. She wonā€™t take lightly to it and make it her mission to end them for good.
With an ego like hers she loves hearing you call her your queen or mommy she so dominant no matter if your male or female she always wants to take the lead sexually and non sexually and finds it cute when you step up to her just to slouch back down. Being an Asgardian/ goddess and you most likely a human she always has her eyes on you and leaves the most beautiful jewels and expenses that money canā€™t even afford at your will. Even getting you lingerie as a female or some sort of submissive kinky gift as a male.
I can see her forcing you into a relationship with her if you ever fear her and turn down her romantic proposal stating that ā€œYou donā€™t have a chose, Darlingā€ I all the way see her calling you darling or sweetheart if you are one. Or even saying ā€œIā€™ll get you one way or anotherā€ Runā€¦ When it comes to you she doesnā€™t play sheā€™s willing to go through the Valkyrie again to have you in her arms once again forever.
Her jealousy and anger may be one of your biggest fears seeing her ruthlessly kill people you love and care about with ease sparring no one anything but life. She is the main character in your story it should always be her you revolve around or constantly hang around. But things can go smoothly with her give her words of reassurance, donā€™t disobey her, and make sure other people around know who you belong to. I can see her enjoying a good steamy make out session and will put a knife through the heart of any mere mortal or announce that ruins any of her moments with you.
People even began to stir clear of you even drunk men/ women are smart enough to walk past you since seeing your face sends a shiver down everyoneā€™s spine. Encountering you would mean encountering the goddess of death who no human wants to die at the hand of the ruthless and savage Hela. She has no heart for people or bother you or talk to you and people begin to learnt that quickly when Hela makes an unexpected appearance for herself she probably even rules earth by keeping people out of the way of her lovesick obsession.
Sheā€™s one of the people who see you as an possession more than a human with rights. She makes your decisions and decides whatā€™s good for you and what isnā€™t like your family or the those people you call friends who are clearly just jealous that you have someone. She poisons your mind to make you believe that everyone around you doesnā€™t like you and only says things about her to keep you away from ā€˜someone he loves you more than anything in the universeā€™ she has strings attached to you that arenā€™t coming undone any time soon.
So except her to be the somewhat loving but manipulative type making you believe everyone is out to get and she just wants to protect you. She forces you to go to events to places with her while you arm and arm or hand hand sheā€™ll kiss you a occasionally staring at the guy who was looking at you from across the room. She wants makes you submit to her. And doesnā€™t like you taking anyones word or advice before or over hers sheā€™s the person with the say and opinions on you so as well as she can be loving she can also be toxic like above average yander toxic ready to kill someoneā€™s for breathing her precious darling air. She views you as the most precious and priceless thing in the entire universe

Erik is the type to be Protective, possessive, obsessive, delusional. He always ignores your attempts at telling him as you being shy. He definitely lays a claim on you treats you as a possession for himself that he can do what he wants with not r4p3 wise. I can see him with a D4ddy k!nk and totally likes it rough and also likes to have his hand on your throat during it while hearing the sounds he pulls out of you.
Letā€™s say you guys are a one night stand heā€™s gonna shoot his load inside while lying that the condom broke so when you find out that your pregnant from the pregnancy taste he gave you and the discarded plan B he destroyed he convinces you forces you to stay with him and raise the child together. He also uses your pregnancy as an excuse to stay with you at all times or isolate you at home ā€˜for your protectionā€™ and even having making you move into his home with him. Which he has cameras stored in even the bathroom.
Erik can be very sweet and fluffy with cuddling you, stroking your hair, and telling you how much he loves you while hugging you from the back and caressing you hips and wrapping his arms around you. He still loves is obsessed with you. A lot of the times that he has hugged you from behind he purposely turns it into a make out session which then leads to other things in his bedroom. I feel like Erik tries to get it on a lot between the two of you it could go from suggestive but small touches on your waist, bottom, and breast to him thrusting his fingers up your šŸ±.
Erik like I said is possessive and protective so if you ever wanna go to the club or a party with or without him your outfit will need to be approved by him since what he says goes wether you like it or not~ And if you donā€™t like how he wonā€™t let you wear the skimpy outfit while with your friends, then you donā€™t need to go at all you can just stay home and bend over for him. This leads to him being too strict he always cracks down on you about being around guys or even interacting with one.
You shouldnā€™t even interact with a waiter at a restaurant you should let him do the talking for you when it comes to men. And if you donā€™t thatā€™s a bloody mess that heā€™ll have to clean up which he wonā€™t be happy about and a night youā€™ll you manipulated into thinking that it was your fault and h to at every guy he has killed for interacting to looking at you is your fault.
He even gaslights you into believing that youā€™re wrong and have gone crazy and heā€™s just taking care of you. If you question him on things or ask about the male friends you used to have heā€™ll simply bring it back on you and how you shouldnā€™t have brought them into his wrath in the first place

Namor is so the one to force into a relationship with you especially after he lets you see his homeland giving him the perfect excuse to keep you there with him as his queen. And donā€™t want you up there by yourself as the surface dwellers arenā€™t good people and may take you from him. He will make you be able to breath under there like he can. If you ever do sneak above the water and onto the land heā€™ll know about it and with track you down with ease.
If he ever finds out that you are being held by authorities there will be a battle against them with his warriors and people that wonā€™t back down. Best believe he will turn that land upside down for you and his people will too. He also isnā€™t at all by any means afraid to get his hands dirty as he considers the surface dwellers themselves, dirty and doesnā€™t want you around them much longer which may even lead to isolation and manipulating you into believing he really does know whatā€™s best for you and that you donā€™t since the land people have tainted you for so long he is the one who is helping your out of that by making decisions for you and treating you as if your not an adult.
Namor does in fact require life from you if it isnā€™t given to him heā€™ll go wild. If he happens to mess things up in land or wherever heā€™ll blame you for making him feel such things. Heā€™s a total sucker for love. Namor is so very delusional itā€™s crazy he is really convinced that you really belong to him and that you need him to help you with your tainted mind that was ruined by the land people. And as a king Namor can and will use this to his advantage and have his people keep you with him.
So not only do you have Namor on your heels but his entire nation of strong people who stop at nothing to make sure that your in his arms or in his sight at all times. Hell even threaten the safety of your family into you telling you how he wouldnā€™t want something to happen to your mother all because you didnā€™t want to let him love you if he ever did commit murder onto your family heā€™d make it be a lesson to you to give him what he wants and to not question his love obsession.

Loki as the God of Mischief would probably trick you into marrying or dating him or even mistaking you guysā€™s relationship as romantic when it could be platonic. He could trap you in his room after showing you Asgard after you asked about it. And as a mortal giving you the golden apple of immortality.
He loves to spoil you and treat you as his queen and even make other people treat you as such asgardian or earthlings he wants them all to treat you as the well-deserved treasure you truly are. I can see him also wanting to have little evil spawns of himself running around and growing inside your belly as it would be pleasing yo him and he feels that getting your belly big and painting your insides white with his sperm would sure lay his claim on you as his forever.
Since he believe Loki as the God he is believed that he deserves only the best a God to which he deems you as the best their is so therefore he deserves you. And if you donā€™t want to cooperate then he has no problem making you by magic or powers of other goodness or even scaring you into it gaslighting you and punishing you into believing everyone before him did not care nor love for you and he is the only one who has genuinely loved you.
He loves to make you think youā€™re going crazy as he watched you break down in tears it lets him know the true power and control he has on you which turns me on. He likes to know that he can break you really easily and likes to let you know aswell so you can get the idea and plans of escaping and leaving him out of your head or heā€™ll force them out.

You know the more MCU Odin content comes out, the more it's confirm that he never was a good or well intentioned parent that many fans believed him to be.

Thoughts on Hela's effect on the acceptance of women warriors in Asgard?
We know from Thor's line in the first movie:
"And who proved wrong all who scoffed at the idea that a young maiden could be one of the fiercest warriors this realm has ever seen?"
that women aren't generally perceived as effective warriors. However, prior to Hela's imprisonment the Valkaries were exclusively-female warriors respected for their prowess, and Hela herself was effective enough that even Odin feared her. In modern times, Valkaries are cast as legends, rather than a specialized unit, and Hela has been largely forgotten.
Is it possible that in Hela's era, women were seen as equal or near equally warlike, but in the wake of her brutality women were encouraged to be peaceful and demure and histories of their victories were suppressed so that those who remember Hela would see her as deranged woman acting against social norms, rather than a dedicated and celebrated warrior of Asgard who was imprisoned by the king she served?

"Yeah Mr White I've got it figured out. I'm not completely stupid. *sigh* Hela is powerful because she's the Goddess of death, and she is tied to wherever the dead are buried. And so she gets her power from Asgard...because Asgard is like a breeding ground for coffin flies. Because of all the slaves in mass graves, bitch"
* grabs your shoulders and shakes you like a ragdoll* Jesse. JESSE . Listen to me. You are completely stupid! Because you're forgetting ONE! One very important thing. Do you seriously think all the dead in Asgard are buried under a castle????? NO! No. No. Hahaha. No. They were. But NOW they burn their dead ...at sea! They burn them at sea, Jesse! Why do you think they do that, huh? HUH?! Because Odin KNOWS burying them will make her more powerful!!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!??

Although I'm not trying to imply anything on the same level of that one theory regarding Bones and Arthuriana regarding characters having actually-supernatural connections, I couldn't help but notice that (as much as fantasy characters and realistic-fiction characters can have commonalities like that) there was a bit more than just gender-and-birth-order-distribution in common between the Wright sibs from So Help Me Todd and the MCU incarnations of a certain trio of Asgardians (at minimum there's stuff regarding Todd and Loki which also kinda connects to how some of my earlier posts compare Todd to Ezekiel Jones as well as Todd being kinda based on Shawn Spencer who's said to work by Bugs Bunny rules (as much as a live-action character can) and Bugs Bunny's kinda inspired by Loki). Hmmm....

Writer/Artist sign-ups for the MCU Thor Gotcha for Gaza event are OPEN!
Tumblr media
THE CONCEPT:
For donations of $5 USD to any of the fundraisers listed on our carrd, donators will be able to receive a Thor, Loki, or Hela fanwork (either fanfic/fanart) from one of our amazing volunteer writer and artists!
Do note that while we are accepting dead dove prompts, this is a SFW event, and NSFW prompts will not be accepted!
Posting fanwork, prompt submissions, and donations, can be done anonymously, but an email must be provided.
If you are a fan of the Thor movies, Thor, Loki, or Hela, please help us raise donations for Palestine by signing up to create or donate, or by reblogging to spread the word!!
SCHEDULE:
WRITER/ARTIST SIGN-UP: CURRENTLY OPEN DONATIONS/PROMPT SUBMISSIONS: 7 AUGUST ā€” 5 SEPTEMBER
HOW IT WORKS (donors):
$5 USD donation = 1 SFW fanwork
You can donate multiple times, but the amount donated has to cover the amount of fanworks that you are requesting. (e.g. $20 USD donation = 4 SFW fanworks)
You can donate to any place listed on our carrd and will be asked to provide a screenshot of your receipt as proof of donation!
This will allow you to submit any SFW prompt you want!
All relationships are accepted for this event, including Dead Dove such as Thor/Loki.
HOW IT WORKS (writers/artists):
Minimum requirements for fanwork are as follows (creators are free to go beyond this):
Artists: at least a cleaned up sketch Writers: at least a 1000 word fanfic
At least 1 month will be given to finish filling a prompt after it is assigned. Creators may contact the mods if they need more time, and as creators are volunteers, we expect prompters to be patient!
There will be a space for creators to specify what they do and do not want to create for. Creators can also choose not to take dead dove prompts!
Writer and artist sign-ups are OPEN!! Fill the form here or check out our carrd for more event information!!
This event has been inspired by the success and creation of similar Gotcha for Gaza events (check out the fandoms list!), such as @arcanefans4gaza @goodomensaction @merlin-gotcha4gaza @swartists4palestine @orv-gotcha-for-gaza

I was surfing on Pinterest and found a bunch of fanarts that reminded me so much of my latest WIP! Iā€™m having high hopes for this series.
So, if youā€™d like to see the vibe Iā€™m working towards in my writing, check out all these fanarts (and support the respective artists behind them, of course!):
Due to Pinterest being a weird place, and the ship name appearing in so many fanart captions, I feel the need to emphasize that I do NOT ship Thor x Loki. Theyā€™re brothers, so thatā€™s just grossā€¦ Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
