Hi! I don't know if you can answer this, but you have a wide variety of skills so I thought I would ask.
Do you know if it is possible to nålbind with metal wire and if the result would be flexible enough to wear?
I am designing armor for an MCU Sigyn variant who crafts her own armor while in the Void and I am thinking about incorporating it into her design.
Hiya! Honestly I know very little about anything yarn-related; I tried knitting and got bored before I could do anything really interesting with it. 😅
From my very limited knowledge, I think it would depend on the gauge of wire and what kind of pieces you were trying to make (aka where they’re located on the body determines how flexible you need the pieces).
It might be worth looking into materials that have a metallic look without being actual metal, like metallic yarn, threads, or cording.
I wish I could help more but this is not a subject I’m familiar with so if anyone else with actual nalbinding experience wants to chime in for anon, feel free!

Why I love 80s MacGyver! Welcome to my TedTalk 😄
The era of the 80s man!
In the time of one-man armies, Rambo, Commando and The A Team shooting up the place, men with fancy cars and nameless women hanging off their arms, here is a man who solves his problems with his brain, drives a nondescript, practical grey jeep, and is always a gentleman.
Smart but never smug
How easily this character could have been a smug, smart-ass, know-it-all. Instead, he has a "gosh, I hope this works" charm.
Social consious
This is the man who hates guns, gives his earnings to refugee charities, is an ally of sex workers, stands up against racists and white supremacists, fights for environmental causes, and protests the treatment of migrant workers and idigenous people.
(So much so that the NRA boycotted the show and tried to get it cancelled, and the right-wing media called it "liberally-biased." If you're pissing these people off, you're doing something right!)
MacGyver is who he is and he's not perfect.
He's vegetarian, people mock him for it, and he doesn't care. He doesn't drink, people mock him for it, and he doesn't care.
He makes questionable outfit choices and will not cut his hair no matter how many times people ask him to.
He can't throw a punch, he's scared of heights, can't cook, is terrible at sign language (a room full of deaf children laughing at his attempts), and his apartment always needs cleaning.
In conclusion:
Basically, he is a lovable nerd who loves science and hockey, lives a low-key lifestyle, is socially progressive, looks out for his friends, loves dogs and children, and always treats women with respect, and still always beats the bad guys!
Oh, and he's cute as all hell! 😍
Whoever said nice men are boring never watched MacGyver 😊❤️

No Codsworth because I am sure it is literally built into him to know how to cook and he holds an unfair advantage.

(WIP) Timeline for my Fallout OCs
Mostly for personal reference, and missing large swaths of time. If you are curious about any missing details, you are welcome to ask. Involves Avery and Edith Murdoc, Edna Murder-McCoy, and Isaiah McCoy. May also come to include Bonnie Carlos, my Courier but I haven't decided yet, as she is based off of a pre-existent NV character.
2056 (January 13th) | Avery Murdoc is born to Sean Murdoc and his wife Loretta (nee Thompson).
2077 (October 23rd) | The Great War. Angus Murdoc - a skilled musician - enters Vault 76 while Sean and Loretta enter Vault 63.
2082 (April 1st) | Angus Murdoc marries photographer and journalist Penny Flynn.
2083 (March 14th) | Edith and Edna Murdoc are born to Angus and Penny.
2102 (October 23rd) | Edith and Edna leave Vault 76 and venture into the Wasteland.
2103 (February 3rd) | Edith and Edna hear a radio broadcast from Rollins Labor Camp and rescue the ex-Blood Eagle Beckett. Due to Edna's insistence that they do not take him home, Edith sets up her camp by the entrance to Nuka World.
2103 (March 31st) Edna marries her first husband, a raider known as Bones. Angus and Penny are uncomfortable with the age gap but consider her old enough to decide for herself.
2103 (November 6th) | Edith and Beckett successfully dismantle the Blood Eagles.
2103 (December 12th) Edith and Beckett (neé Beckett) Murdoc's wedding day.
2103 (November 4th) | Edna's husband Bones is killed by a raider lackey he discarded.
2104 (February 3rd) | Edna marries Charlie York, a hunter she met near Crater.
2105 (March 17th) | Edna and Charlie agree that their dreams for life are not compatible and amicably divorce.
2105 (May 5th) | Edna marries Franklin, an unusually intelligent supermutant who works as a travelling doctor.
2106 (January 2nd) | Remnants of the Blood Eagles attack and kill Edith. Beckett hunts down and slaughters the perpetrators. Blaming him for her sister's death, Edna swears she'll kill Beckett if they ever cross paths again. Beckett leaves Appalachia.
2106 (August 10th) | While she and Franklin are on the road, they encounter an independent raider group. The raiders shoot Franklin on sight because he is a supermutant. Edna kills their leader and hangs her body at the entrance to their camp, declaring herself their new leader. She uses them to root out and kill every former Blood Eagle known in Appalachia.
2108 (February 17th) | Edna marries her fourth husband, Lloyd Peters, a farmer working for Foundation.
2108 (July 4th) | Edna and her husband have an argument, ending with her chasing him off of his farm and selling it.
2108 (July 13th) | Edna and Mort McCoy cross paths and realize they were both hired for the same job. Rather than race each other they agree to work together and split the pay down the middle. This was the beginning of an increasingly frequent work relationship.
2113 (January 1st) | Edna and Mort hold a small wedding. Isaiah McCoy, Sol, Duchess, Polly, Angus and Penny Murdoc, and Charlie York attend.
2113 (August 19th-21st) | Edna is hired to escort Leamon Price to find a "radiation specialist" to cure his rad sickness. While aiding the "specialist" in a heavily irradiated area, her hazmat suit tears on a piece of irradiated rock, cutting her arm and exposing her to intense radiation.
2113 (September 3rd) | Edna's skin begins to redden and peel. Over the course of the next two months she becomes more and more ghoul-like.
2113 (October 31st) | Edna's ghoulification completes.
2287 | Avery Murdoc leaves Vault 111, assuming the identity of Nora Pelham.

Having fun with the CAMP slots in my Isaiah McCoy save.
Crane's Antiques, a cluttered build near Radiant Hills,
and Flowerfield House near Charleston Station.
-
Isaiah was originally a Mort-lookalike I was working on, but the game bugged his appearance (giving him glowing green eyes and the Casual Kempt hairstyle). I became attached to the look and decided to make him Mort's younger brother who worked with Edna Murdoc during her time as a Responder. He and Mort both assumed the other died in the bombs until Edna's sister Edith met him while visiting Edna and wondered if they were related.
Isaiah is a mild-mannered Fire Breather who was gifted a CAMP by a vaultie whose life he saved; as they had moved into a more permanent residence and no longer needed it, they offered it to him along with their PipBoy.
He used the CAMP to build Flowerfield as a cozy place to rest on his rare day off.
After the frequent nukes reduced Appalachia to an irradiated desert, Mort and Edna left to find work but Isaiah stayed behind to help guide any lost travelers to safety and ensure the Scorched Plague never sees a resurgence.
