Werewolf Lore Book found in The Quarry Game
Okay, where do I start? A few days ago I was playing The Quarry and trying to get screenshots of Travis. However, while in the Hackett House, I saw this book. I was curious if it said anything. Part of me wondered if it was just gibberish since the player can't really see it and it would just be for dressing the set and making the room look full. However, as I squinted I realized it said Curse of the Moonlight. I began to try multiple different methods to read the two pages of text. I couldn't find it in the game files and searching book didn't get me anywhere. However after some clipping and eye strain through using my glasses as a magnifying glass. Maybe this has already been discovered if so that's okay. I still just wanted to point this out. I am unsure which character was reading this. I want to say Chris Hackett since there are cigarettes present and the only other time I've seen them is in Chris' office as he smokes.
The text reads as the following:
Before the creation of the curse more than 23,000 years ago, the people of the old town, recognized the presence of an evil spirit, which successfully escaped from hell, broke all the spells which imprisoned it since the initial establishment of the Earth. Mankind had been struggling to fight and hopelessly defend themselves before the cruelty and the brutal behaviour of the beast. Finally, through all the tears and bloods, prayers and desperation, mankind lost to the creature and vanished. However, becasue of the vital impact and the destructive damage the conflict resulted, the Mother of Nature abandoned it from the ground, kept it in captivity under thousands of earth layers, for million of years.
The curse is supposed to be timeless. But unfortunately, some unconscious individuals summoned the beast with a deadly ancient magics and spells. Following the guide of the devils, they were forced to wake the monster from the deepest place that the humanity may ever know. Hence, every night when the moon shines the brightest, it will rise and hunt for human lives, as many as he can find, as much as he can fulfill the hunger through so many years, just until the sun rises to the fullest. And that became the story, which is then conveyed and spreaded from ears to ears, about this enigmatic forest.
Once upon a time, there was one said every journey is always full of unexpectancies and moreover, inevitable incidences. Stories have been told through centuries and decades, from villages to towns, from the elder to the youth. But not as the generations pass by or as the time fades, the curse has never been once broken. Whenever the reading is started, the moon will shine and the untamed creature will be released from your worst nightmare. Danger is triggered. And death follows.
Now, one is here in this place, reading these ambiguous is and wondering about everything. But he did not even noticed the wind has begun to blow harder and colder. The surroundings are frozen, not because of the weather, but due to one thing which is coming for the thirst of blood. The shelter is no longer a place to settle. It is now a deadly hunting area, dangerous obstacles, damaged constructions and mysterious blood stains.
In every step he takes, the traces will stay to wait for the beast. Like the last footprint he left during the last moment of his life. His scream will not be heard and his prayers will not be granted. He may survive but the terrified soul will last forever. His curiosity was the cause of the unfortunate event. And now he has to pay the bloody price and no savior would come to rescue.
Every moment he has now is priceless and vital. His life and the journey of survival depends on how he uses his last breaths. Which means now is the time that he needs to start to run.
My most insane attempt to read it which got me 2/3s of the way down the first page.

Updating this idea to add Travis's expertise in romance novels being key to catching a criminal in one episode.
I need a buddy-cop show about Travis Hackett and an idealistic young woman who joins NKPD. It starts out wholesome, with her friendly attitude slowly pulling him out of his shell. He sees in her the man he wanted to be: someone devoted to bringing justice and protecting the people of North Kill. His responsibility to his family is more important than his own wants, but she doesn't have his burden. He is happy to encourage her, to give her all the tools she needs to become the best cop North Kill has ever had
But in the end, that is why he has to get rid of her. Because she can't accept that sometimes hikers get lost.

Travis Hackett/Ted Raimi was originally supposed to have a scene/script part mentioning that Travis is a romance novel enthusiast. Here is the concept art of it done by @/wes_nike_illustrator on Instagram.
Thank you to discord user: cleucas for showing me this omg.
Close up of both novels.

You’re summoned to Devildom right now for the RAD exchange program in exactly what you’re wearing. How messed up are their first impressions going to be?
#Solid dark blue T-shirt. Bleach-flecked black cargopants. No shoes or socks. Black mask in pocket. Silver buckled black belt.#Belphie isn't there but he appreciates that he only ever sees me in the exact same outfit because I am too lazy to be fashionable.#Beel doesn't probably thinks my too-high pant hems are relatable because he has nibbled on his before.#Asmo thinks I have zero taste#but later starts a trend based on functional minimalism paired with subtly chaotic prints and high-contrast metallic accents.#Satan sees a person with practical tastes but of no importance.#Levi is briefly intrigued by the mask-wearing because it reminds him of Kakashi#but he is intimidated by my expression because he doesn't realize I'm squinting because my glasses were left at home.#Mammon sees a poor person who is ripe to be scammed.#Lucifer sees an unassuming person who will give him no headaches. I feel like he would appreciate the leather D.D.D. case on my belt.#Tangent: The chat about “if MC wore glasses” is hilarious to me because that implies that they assumed my terrible eyesight#was a human thing.#Diavolo would be delighted to have an authentic human alongside Solomon as part of the exchange program.#Barbatos would be concerned for the success of the exchange program.#Obey Me#Reblog

There is no meeting of eyes, no declaration of war, not even the closing of the car doors to herald the battle that ensues when Tracis and Chris Hackett get into the car together. Only the race to the case of CDs set behind them in the center of the back seat. Johnny Cash and Avenged Sevenfold, or Mumford & Sons and Katy Perry?
As the doors slam shut, one harder than the other, the radio whirs to life.

honestly, the saddest thing is the implication that it’s only at travis’ insistence (see: jedediah’s line about “no more protecting anyone, travis”) and possible threat of legal action that the hacketts even bother trying to keep others safe during each full moon.
they’re normally so eager and willing to abuse his position as sheriff to strong-arm locals and outsiders alike – even chris, to an extent, with his email about contacting the podcast – but when it comes to keeping people from harm, the only one actively trying (aside from chris locking himself up) is travis.
he’s spent the better part of six years influencing the locals and lying through his teeth, all for the sake of his town and its visitors. he’s had to forsake his own moral code and do some thoroughly dubious things for his family, wedged firmly beneath their proverbial thumb, in order to make them comply / cooperate and try to protect the people that wander into those woods. the most depressing part is, they only treat him well when he’s complacent and doing as they demand.
his entire existence has boiled down to how useful he is to someone, and while the idea of being able to help people is one of the most important things to him, it’s become yet another thing his family’s tainted by expecting his help in illegal ways.
he’s caught in a constant struggle between his loyalty to an abusive, manipulative family and his desire to keep others safe. and he’s just weak enough, just subservient enough, that the former usually wins in the end.

i get very frustrated trying to engage with other astarion fans because 90% of y’all are the ones who woobify every single aspect of his personality. like it drives me insane.
astarion is a complicated person with a deeply flawed perspective on the world. no matter how you try to spin it, he: manipulates the player character into sex for his own personal gain, says casually racist shit to Gandrel out of spite, disapproves of the player character helping deep gnomes out of slavery despite having been in the same goddamn position, is willing to sacrifice thousands of fellow victims to devils if it means he will gain that power, and literally was such a piece of shit magistrate during his time alive that he apparently got jumped by the Gur for not advocating for their legal protection. (admittedly a plot point that does not get elaborated on nearly enough.) and this is just what i’ve experienced from him. none of these actions are justifiable or excusable because of his trauma. his trauma provides context for his mindset, not an excuse.
it frustrates me especially because these flaws he has enhance his character, they don’t take away from it. at his core astarion does have some softness, but he’s honestly one of the most morally grey, flawed people in the cast, if not downright evil at times. the shitty things he does and says consciously come from a place of self-hatred, from constantly being in survival mode, and that’s the whole fucking point! he is not and never has been a “perfect victim.” so when i open my hellsite to see paragraphs upon paragraphs of “he’s so misunderstood” and “ascended astarion isn’t that bad” and he doesn’t “think he’s better, he actually hates himself” it makes me want to throw my phone at the wall!
like, y’all. astarion’s self-hatred fuels his superiority complex. the two are very obviously linked. astarion’s ascended status never allows him to mature past it. him being “misunderstood” is a direct result of the fact that vampires are legitimately frightening, sadistic creatures that terrorize the common folk of Faerûn, at least within the context of DnD. i get we’re all kind of used to the “vampire-with-a-heart-of-gold” narrative, but astarion’s not that, and i find these screeds about how misunderstood he is when he’s the best written character in the game with the most cutscenes out of any companion character laughable.
TL;DR astarion is a fucked up guy who’s working on himself, not fucking edward cullen, and i appreciate that about him tbh
#Reblog#Astarion#BG3#I'm happy to interact regardless of how innocent you make him#But I have extra love for takes that include his darker side.

I would like to nominate Inspector Gadget (from the film) as a Fairytale Princess.
#The story is dark enough in retrospect. A man witnesses a murder and nearly dies himself.#His vulnerable state is used to subject him to extensive experimental surgeries without consent#And which leave him with the ability to inadvertently kill his loved ones if he loses control of his emotions.#The person he is in love with was the doctor behind the irreversible surgeries and chooses to abandon the project in favor of seeking money#Despite the probability that bugs will arise beyond those actively destroying things in his vicinity and his reasonable concern.#The happy ending is him receiving acceptance from the boss who wanted him dead and the woman who used him and threw him away.#Fairytale#Inspector Gadget#Disney

Personally, I don't think Deacon expected SoSu's child to be working for the Institute. He knows that the child likely was connected to the creation of the Gen 3 synths, but he doesn't know half as much about the Institute as the Player does. They enslave people. They kidnap people. They kill people. He doesn't know much beyond that.
He probably believes that they killed Shaun after they took what they needed or experimented on him until he became a supermutant or other monstrosity. He isn't offering SoSu a reunion, he's offering them closure and revenge.
He didn't forget that SoSu is determined to see their child again when he said they had no family left. He forgot to pretend that they had a chance.
unrelated to my last post but i think the game should've given Sole the option to beat the shit out of Deacon when he implies that your family dying is a good thing. i love him dearly, and i know that you can kind of yell at him for it, but ohhhh my god dude was there not a way you could've worded that better? lmao
