A writhing mass of grasping, colorless hands surges against Nevermore’s barricaded front doors.
Bianca: How the hell do we banish it?!
Wednesday: According to the grimoire, we must first stun the entity by exposing it to rhythmic sounds of a purely positive nature—
Wednesday: —then an antonym for misery must willingly mark the terminus of each digit with the visual essence of sunlight divided.
Bianca: Uh. Where the shit are we going to find someone crazy enough to want to paint that—
*THUMP*
The girls turn to find Enid rising from a perfect superhero landing. She wears two bandoliers of nail polish, with the song Apt. blasting from portable speakers clipped to her belt.
Enid: *dramatically* My time has come.
Wednesday: *probably doesn’t swoon*
Bianca: 🤦

Writing Notes: Contronyms
Contronym
A word that has two meanings that are opposite or nearly opposite.
Example: Left means both “leave” (two people had left) and “remain” (How many people are left?), which are antonyms.
An antonym is a word that is opposite in meaning to another.
Contronyms are also known as Janus words.
Janus was an ancient Roman god with two faces that looked in opposite directions.
Another term for these words is auto-antonym, or a word that means the opposite of itself.
Technical terms for this phenomenon are enantiosemy, enantionymy, or antilogy.
Examples of Contronyms
Cleave
Comes from two different Old English words, clēofan and cleofian, which is how it got these two opposite meanings.
Cleave: to split, to separate (Owen swung the axe down hard in order to cleave the log into two even pieces.)
Cleave: to adhere closely, to stick (Young beaver pups cleave to their mother in the water until they are strong enough to swim on their own.)
Dust
When used as a verb, is a contronym.
Dust: to wipe the dust from (Every Saturday, he would dust the nicknacks on the bookshelves to keep them clean.)
Dust: to sprinkle with a powder or dust (The baker liked to dust their pumpkin bread with just a sprinkle of cinnamon.)
Overlook
Overlook: to fail to notice, perceive, or consider (I hadn’t finished the last two homework questions, but I hoped my teacher would overlook it and give me full marks anyway.)
Overlook: to look after, oversee, or supervise (The manager was required to personally overlook the transfer of valuable materials every evening.)
Sanction
Sanction: to authorize, approve, or allow (My parents wouldn’t sanction video games in our home because they thought they were too violent.)
Sanction: to penalize (The school said they were going to sanction the students for arriving late to class.)
Weather
The word weather is a contronym, but only when used as a verb.
Weather: to expose to the weather, to disintegrate (The paint on the house was chipped and weathered from the decades of rain and snow.)
Weather: to endure (We weren’t sure that we would be able to weather the storm if we didn’t find shelter.)
Back Up
Back up: to support (Ultimately, the scientists were unable to back up their claims with hard evidence.)
Back up: to retreat (The zebras backed up when they spotted the alligators in the water.)
Fine
The adjective fine has the potential to lead to some real misunderstandings about just how excellent (or not) something is.
Fine: of superior or best quality (To prepare for the Queen’s visit, the household staff cleaned the fine linens and polished the best silver.)
Fine (informal): satisfactorily, acceptably (Sandra thought her performance was fine, but nothing special, so she was surprised when she won second place.)
Original
The adjective original is an example of a contronym.
Original: belonging to the beginning of something (Despite being hundreds of years old, the painting was still in its original frame.)
Original: new, fresh, inventive (While sitting in the bathtub, the inventor was struck with an original idea.)
Pitted
The contronym pitted often causes confusion at the grocery store.
Pitted: having pits; in the sense of “mark or indent” (The sailor’s face was pitted and craggy from the wind and salt water.)
Pitted: having the pit removed; in the sense of “stone of a fruit” (My mom reminded me to buy the pitted cherries, because she didn’t want to take out the stones herself.)
Bound
Bound is an example of a contronym that has two different meanings because it actually has two different etymologies. The first meaning comes from the Old English bindan. The second meaning comes from the Old Norse būinn, “to get ready.”
Bound: tied, fastened or secured with a band or bond (The Mountie rushed to save the woman who was bound to the railroad tracks.)
Bound: going or intending to go, destined [for] (With all of their talents, the band was bound to be a success.)

Hey! Is it alright if I ask for aftercare hcs for the league bois for fem reader??? (Thresh, zed,Kayn Aatrox maybe?)
Also I love your stories plz keep up the good work, I read them after some ranked matches sometimes.
✦–Aftercare headcanons.✦ (NSFW)
Tumblr media
✦How do they care about you (or not /jk) after sex.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✧ prompt: ✧ aftercare headcanons preceded with some sex scenes.
✧ champions: ✧ Aatrox, the Darkin Blade; Kayn, the Shadow Reaper; Thresh, the Chain Warden; Zed, the Master of Shadows.
✧ reader: ✧ female.
✧ author’s note: ✧ I’m not dead, although I am not promising anything - totally not staying here for long. I might just reappear sometime and then vanish again. But I’m reading all your request and thinking of them, promise. Don’t ever stop sending them <3.
masterlist
Tumblr media
✦Aatrox, the Darkin Blade.
The World Ender is not a person to be underestimated in any circumstances. He is the antonym of the word “gentle”, both on the battlefield and privately. And there is no exception for you, his fucktoy. You are a mere human; of course someone - or something - as powerful as the Darkin would not have mercy for you. After fucking you disdainfully, listening to your woeful cries and moans, which were making the experience even better, Aatrox usually leaves you to take care of himself. But before vanishing, in an act of pity, he seldom leaves you with something - something only from him, a kind of gift. Like a souvenir: a burn, a claw mark or a cut. And that’s his “aftercare” - making you remember him. What’s even more rare - him letting you rest beside him a bit, absorbing the heat that beams from his inner rage. The World Ender is indeed warm, but only physically; he wouldn’t let you bond with him, as he has to continue with his purpose - to destroy everything.
✦Kayn, the Shadow Reaper.
Surprisingly, Kayn is a very talkative person during sex. And totally a loud one. This man has no shame, especially when it comes to begging you to ride his face or to get the chance to burry his nose and lips in your vagina. The successor of the Shadow Order is eager, although he tires quickly - his youth prevents him from going on for multiple rounds with you. But Kayn doesn’t mind you using him for your own pleasure and this always ends up with him beneath you, panting from overstimulation yet grinning at you widely. Because of that - that he doesn’t mind being the bottom - it isn’t rare when you are the one to tenderly kiss him after making him cum multiple times. You whisper sweet, praising words into Kayn’s ear, while his numb hands slide on your body, circling around his favourite parts of it. And it’s not like the Shadow Reaper can’t do aftercare or be the dominant one - of ourse not. He tends to be clumsy, but in the end - responsible for sure; whenever he finishes with enough strenght, he gladly carries you into a bathtub, joining you in the warm waters. But, in the end… He just enjoys you pampering him.
✦Thresh, the Chain Warden.
Every time you get intimate with the infmaous, greedy and definitely ominous keeper of the Shadow Isles, it involves chains. Of course it does. He is not the perilous Chain Warden for no reason. Every time he puts his clawed, metal-chased hands on you, slowly making himself comfortable on your tantalizing body, you end up chained to a wall or a bed, left at his mercy to toy with you. But whenever you are the one to initiate sex, both of you eventually find yourselves bounded to each other, metaphorically and physically. Either way Thresh’s stamina and durability are way higher than yours - thanks to the magical alterations he has overcome - so after making you cum and pleasing himself inside of you, he is less tired than you. Thanks to that, the Chain Warden is always the one to take care of you. He always starts with removing all the ropes or chains, gently and conscientiously, and treating the bruises that they left. He lets you rest and not even lift a finger, because he takes care of everything. But Thresh certainly takes his time with it, cleaning and wipping off every sticky liquid that might have end up between your legs. After all, he is a caring lover, making sure that aftercare is nothing of your concern; Thresh takes pleasure from having control in his own hands. And whenever you act possessive during foreplay, pretending like you try to reject him or turn off, he gladly chains you to a bed, only to leave you like this for hours.
✦Zed, the Master of Shadows.
Oh, how your Master enjoys taking you from behind. Having your ass bouncing before him, balls deep and with the chance of pulling your hair, just to hear your rapid moans. Zed doesn’t let you rest; he is a busy man and he often acts like there was no time left during sex - ever moment and every second he could be summoned for another emergency. That’s why his thrusts are always so desperate, aggresive, relentless. The Master of Shadows acknowledges that after sex you must be tired - he also is, although he would not admit that - that’s why he cleans himself right out, only to return and firlmy massage your back. It is kind of a characteristic trair of him - giving you a relaxing massages after sex, still covetously looking at your ass, probably thinking about the next time he will get the chance to fuck it without mercy. If you could read his mind, you would certainly think of Zed as overzelaous when it comes to fucking you, despite his age. And sometimes it actually comes out of him: while giving you the usual massage, your Master can’t stop himself; ignoring his own exhaustion, he enter you from the back once again, only to hear your surprised mewl. He lives for that sound. And he will fuck you as long as you squirm, moan and pant. Aftercare with Master Zed is almost as challenging as accompaning him on the battlefield.

ISA LANG    ୨୧    PARK JONGSEONG  ˒  JAY
purpose born to be niki coded, transformed into arthur nery coded ・ gender neutral reader + word count 857 genre fluff .. angst .. best friends au warnings mention of food note i swear this is based on a dialogue prompt but i forgot the user — return to the academy
Tumblr media
jay wasn’t made for late nights.
as much as he doesn’t want to stir guilt within his best friend, he struggles to conceal the symptoms. swallowed by his wrinkled hoodie, he curls his tired figure against the headboard. the light hum of the air conditioning can’t conceal the yawns that falter from his lips every now and then.
through half-lidded eyes, he watches you huff one more time during your battle with your phone. jay may be sleepy, but he hasn’t breached the line between reality and fantasy. how could he when you’re so eager to show him something?
apparently you’d finally taken the near-full storage warning seriously and begun your trip down memory lane. it wasn’t the easiest task to fulfill, but for the integrity of your phone’s health (and future mementos that you were definitely going to earn), it was about time. besides, it’d brought you back to this elusive picture—that had sunk into the trenches of your gallery once more because you forgot that making a folder or saving it in favorites exist—that jay was just a little eager to see.
the bespectacled male’s frames hang on the precipice right when you exclaim, “here, finally found it!”
it’s almost comical how quickly he sits up the moment the announcement comes. he doesn’t like the taste of caffeine during hours like this, yet he absorbs the side effects of your excitement so eagerly. of course, he’ll always defend himself by claiming the circumstances are different—you’re different.
shuffling closer until he can feel your warmth—and smell your apple-cinnamon scented fabric softener—pressed next to him, he looks down at your phone screen. truthfully, and with little thoughts he had during the passing hour, he’d expected to see a picture of from a special occasion, your friends and family. if he had to stretch a little, perhaps a picture of your ex who triggered some sirens in his mind.
(only god, and his other best friends, know how relieved he was to learn that his radar weren’t far off. that, and you had believed him even when he himself was doubting his own instincts. he saved you a chapter of migraines and arguments.)
but no, he was actually staring at himself. well, his past self, but still him—park jay. your partner in crime, go-to consultant for a variety of matters (specializing in both look and cook books), best friend for this life and the following ones.
and he doesn’t even try to hide his confusion. “that’s.. me.”
“obviously,” you laugh, unintentionally drawing more invisible question marks over his head. “see, that’s one of the ways i knew you had fallen so deep into that conversation. i’d also forgotten to turn off the shutter sound at the time, but you didn’t flinch.”
as intently as he stares at the photo, jay can’t recall this moment in particular. he still owns that denim jacket, but it’s been a while since he’s seen those natural mocha tresses. his jaw’s a little sharper, but his eyes retain that soft edge you claim he possesses. with so many contrasts, it throws him off the timeline. but it’s not like he keeps track of things he himself says anyway, so he doubts he’ll remember without a refresher.
“wait, pause right there.. what was i talking about?”
“i can’t remember either.”
..that felt like the antonym of what he was looking for.
obviously amused by jay’s bewildered expression, you decide to throw him a stem. “i don’t think i was even part of the conversation in the first place. we were at jake’s birthday party, yet you, him, and sunghoon seemed to forget about that since the three of you were mostly glued to the living room. if heeseung hadn’t called you guys over so the birthday boy could blow out the candles, we would have cut the cake already.”
oh that; jay can remember that part. it’s not that he has favorites you’re his number one but when he and his fellow liner friends land in the same space and time, they’re bound to talk as if they haven’t seen each other in years. ironic, since he’s pretty sure they were just chatting on discord about their genshin pulls a few hours before the party, but he digresses.
“right, but still, what’s up with this picture? was it just a random snap for your photo dump?” he asks, more curious than anything else; definitely more than tired.
“i just really liked how passionate you seemed to be in that moment. you were so.. expressive, i guess? like, even if i had no idea what you were talking about, i could tell that it meant a lot to you. and then you’d do these small gestures to paint a more clear picture for the two, even add some silly sound effects to the moves. our other friends would smile or even chuckle over how enthusiastic you sounded before returning to their conversations, whereas i was pretty much stuck watching you go on and on.”
“sounds like i had you wrapped around my finger then.” he jests, lighthearted words complemented by the slight curve of his rosy lips.
you play along; rolling your eyes like it hurt to admit it. “i mean you’re not that far off. god, i almost fell in love with you then.”
god, he wish you had.

May 26 - Kiyomizudera / Mindar at Kodaiji / Gion Tour
Freewriting
Today began like most, at 8 with a quiz. No breakfast bento today (earth shattering news, I know) and our class meeting was brief. We departed for Kiyomizu-dera by train and arrived after thirty minutes or so. As far as Buddhist Temples go, this one was pretty cool (my second favorite of the trip so far) and there was a lot to see and do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first thing we did at Kiyomizu-dera was walk through the temple's "womb" to become reborn. This entailed walking through a winding pitch black tunnel under the main temple by following a rope attached to the wall. At the end of the tunnel was a large rock that supposedly grants you a wish when you reach and touch it (the "womb" was actually a really fun experience, I didn't necessarily feel reborn though. The next section of the temple had a large singing bowl which I rang before praying to this section of the temple's kami. We observed the surrounding area of Kyoto from the hanging deck (famous for its nail-less construction) before moving onto the "Otawa Waterfall."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Otawa Waterfall is not a waterfall but in fact three diverging streams of water, each of which corresponds to an unlabeled blessing from Kannon (goddess of mercy.) You are only supposed to drink from one of the three streams (although one of my classmates didn't seem to get the memo) or the goddess perceives you as greedy and grants you no blessing. This was a really fun experience and the cool water was refreshing after all the stairs!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After leaving the shrine, I briefly walked around Sannen-zaka and Ninen-zaka before grabbing lunch with some of the guys and Professor Smith! I had a margherita pizza (shocker) and some strawberry shaved ice while walking around afterwards as a sweet treat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After lunch, we went to see Mindar, the "android" of the Buddhist goddess Kannon. The "android" gave a presentation on Buddhist ideals and its core teachings, accompanied by a cool light show and projected displays (however, the robot a little uncanny valley for my taste.) It was cool to learn about Buddhism and to see the contrast between the ancient Buddhist temple and this new Buddhist technological development.
Tumblr media
After this presentation, we took a short walk to Gion where we walked around for a bit before attending a short Geisha performance. This area of Kyoto is not very tourist friendly (on account of inappropriate tourist behavior here in the past) and I definitely felt that in all the dirty looks that we received. After Gion, I returned to Stay SAKURA where I did laundry and relaxed before going out to dinner with Griffin (we got turned away from four different sushi restaurants before ending up back at McDonalds, at least we tried.) All in all, another eventful and fun day in Kyoto!
Academic Reflection
Todays first reading, derived from a Sekkyo-bushi meaning Sermon Ballads performance, was about the goddess of mercy, Kannon. This reading somewhat changed my pre-held perceptions of Kannon, as parts of this passage painted her as vindictive or even malicious (antonyms for mercy.) For example, Kannon acting to kill Shintokumaru's mother after she insulted the goddess or making lord Nobuyoshi's wife unable to bear children, on account of their actions from a previous life (destroying bird eggs.) To be fair, Kannon also showed mercy and kindness within the reading, such as when she provides Shintokumaru with the feather duster to cure his illness (which I felt was more in character.) I found it interesting to see both sides of Kannon within these excerpts. Kannon's influence can be felt all throughout Japan and I certainly felt it today at Kiyomizu-dera.
The second reading from today, an article titled “Enlightenment Geishas” was about the history of Geishas in Japan. More specifically, the Geisha "enlightenment" that has taken place in Japan in recent centuries. This "enlightenment" refers to the education of Geishas in traditional Japanese practices, marking a shift from being primarily sex workers, to being focused on family life and being productive mothers as well as members of Japanese society. At today's Geisha performance, this education in the arts and refinement was very evident. Both the performance and museum aspects of this excursion were extremely elegant and made me think of high society.

Little exercise I did last night and today, where I took the personality traits of certain characters and inverted them (sometimes looking up the antonym for the words being used to describe them), and thus creating an inverted 'bizarro' version of the characters. Any other characters you'd guys would want me to do?
Mark Grayson:
More mature(?).
Coming off as callous and emotionless? Better control of his emotions.
No issue with killing?
Would ironically be more like his father than in canon.
Not put off by gore.
Impolite and rude, even if he doesn’t mean to be.
*Scary*. Would kill you and it’d be nothing to him.
Empathy, what’s that?
Steven Demayo:
Understands how the real, human world works (beyond gem affairs).
Paranoid and overly cautious; doesn’t trust easily.
Earthly, worldly-minded, and streetwise.
Insensitive. Doesn’t go out of his way to meet new people.
Inflated opinion of himself and high self-esteem.
Unironically is in a better place mentally than his canon counterpart.
Catra:
Hard worker (workaholic?)
Cautious, caring, and heedful.
Compassionate and gentle.
Emotionally and mentally stable.
Very forgiving and easy-going.
Luz:
Realist and a cynic.
Uncreative.
A bit cowardly.
Acts like the ‘normal person’ everyone at home wanted her to be.
Tries to stay out of trouble, even if she knows something bad is happening.

Evaluate Performance: To identify areas that require improvement, students should compare their performance on question papers from previous years with their current performance.
The Importance of Good Health: To perform well on the test, one must have good physical and mental health. If the candidates are mentally and physically worn out, there are fewer chances of them doing well on the test. As a result, the candidates are counseled to maintain a healthy diet and sleep schedule.
The candidates should prepare according to the exam patterns followed for MBA admissions 2023 with dedication and hard work.

love, maybe
On a dictionary webpage, Noeul would appear as an antonym for the following word: romance. From his fleeting crushes and the super awkward ( some infamous ) rejections that he has had to carry out since he received his first love confession, he knew absolutely nothing about being someone's first love. He doubted that he would be one of the guesses on the list of candidates that would audition for the casting call, but that made the challenge fun and oh, a challenge it would be for him.
All of his ideas resulted in his body unable to stop an emotion of acute embarrassment to be triggered from within him before he could even shoot the audition properly. He wanted to do the audition by himself without asking his friends for help. Besides, the only friend that he trusted enough to not tease him more than necessary and be able to ask for ideas was whisked away to a competition with top security, and unfortunately for him, he hadn't been one of the lucky people to be called that weekend.
For once, he was willing to leave his comfort zone behind and he was hoping that it would pay off, or at least give the judging panel an ab workout from laughter. Okay, he was going to take this seriously. He roamed the company building for the best available room to set up his phone on a desk while the golden hour was still on his side. He had done his research and the dreamy, soft lighting that the sun provided during the golden hour was perfect for his scenario.
Instead of using a camera tripod, he positions the camera lower on the desk with the help of two books to act as his napping co-star. First, his lower body steps in view, and he lifts his hand to 'block' the light from hitting directly at the camera. Utilizing the chair in front of the camera to be his marking, he drops his hand back to his side and leans down to stare at his co-star's face. No glint of mischief in his eyes, but full of adoration. With a soft expression on his face, the corners of his lips tug upwards into a warm smile when he crouches down beside his co-star, right hand lifting to fix the strays hair away from his co-star's face, but with a sliver of hesitation evident in his movement.
He stands upright to this time gently place the chair inside the space he had been occupying, settling down far too comfortably than he should have. He winces when the chair creaks. All calculated, I assure you ( not really ). He releases a sigh of relief when he turns to check on his co-star's face to see if he had awaken them, victoriously stretching out his arms in front of him before preparing to nap beside her on the desk.
"I like you, y'know?" He softly whispers, but audible enough to be picked by up the camera. His eyes flutter shut, partly dying inside and another part happy it was almost over. He waits for a brief moment, corner his lips widening into a bright smile as if he had been caught and he turns to face away from his co-star, feigning he was now fast asleep.

To everyone reading this,
The chilling silence of the night never comforted me, but now, they are even more haunting than they were in my childhood. It was a habit to to switch off the lights, allow the darkness to engulf me, every night with not even one ray of light to act as an antonym to my surrounding. I could see nothing. The darkness declared that it was time for me to lay myself down, to not worry about the chance of being able to wake up the next day.
It is never the darkness that scares me, never. It is that frightening face I see in it. I don't know how long it has been here, nor do I know what it is. All I know is that it is here every night. Once I switch off the lights, my body warm under the blankets, I see it. It's face, horrifying, pale as if painted white, eyes round, filled with sadistic bloodlust and a smile that grows bit by bit every night. Only the face, no other part of it, is ever seen. It's only the face, illuminating itself in the darkness of the night. It never moves. It isn't a crawling demon ready to pounce on me and put it's claws deep in my flesh. It never moves. It's just there, smiling wider and wider to the point where it can't go further. Yesterday night I decided that it's the end. The creature's eyes were filled with anger, still smiling, wider than ever. Twitching. All it's sadistic imaginations that made it smile had come to an end and now it's ready to mark mine.
I cannot seek help from family, they care too less. As the sun goes down today, I don't ask you all to find a solution which does not exist. I am not asking for help. There is no help when it's too late. All I ask from everyone reading this, is to pray for me.
Yours sincerely.

Note
WIP word game: wrinkle
Although I have apparently used this word quite a bit, it doesn't appear in the unpublished sections. So instead I searched for its antonym, smooth.
There are no marks on his skin at all, his hands smooth except for calluses in a pattern that Pat has never seen before.
