Now that I've mamaged to sleep...
So if you've heard Umazane Misli in Malay yesterday at Joker Out's Amsterdam show (6/12), that was me who sang it at the barricade in front of the boys.
If you have any video recording of me singing it, please send it to me!
I would love to keep it and also tell my parents that getting a C for my Bahasa subject during my high school final exam ACTUALLY GOT ME SOMEWHERE HAHA.
Thank you also to everyone who cheered as I attempted the lyrics in front of Bojan. It's a great honor to bring Malaysia and South East Asia to the spotlight for a moment.
For anyone curious about what the actual words are...

ASTROLOGY OBSERVATIONS- 019
Hi guys, I'm back with more astrology observations!!
If you'd like a paid reading, đclick here đ
If you would like to check out my other astrology observations, check me out at @okuhle23 .
âPeople with Venus in Capricorn/ Venus conjunct Saturn age so beautifully. This placement may mean that you start putting more effort in how you look at a older age. It may also mean that you may experience a later glowup. This is because Saturn represents aging and delays while Venus rules beauty.
âLeo rules hot and humid air, so countries ruled by Leo may experience very hot summers. Examples include: Afghanistan, India, Zanzibar, Chad, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, and Pakistan.
âPeople with Moon/Virgo in the 6th may really love animals, and may be really attached to their own pets if they have any.
âPeople with Neptune in the 1st may constantly experience people making assumptions about them based on how they look or dress. Neptune rules assumptions and the 1st house shows your appearance. This placement can also indicate being idealized by people who don't even know you well, these people are like a fantasy to others.
âNeptune conjunct Mars/Pluto can make you appear rather sexual and promiscuous, you may also have many secret admirers. This is because Neptune represents illusions and Pluto/ Mars represents sex and things related to sex
âVenus in the 3rd may date people in their neighbourhood, or their partners live very close to them. This is because Venus represents love/romantic relationships, while the 3rd house represents your local community.
âPluto or Scorpio in the 5th/7th house can mean that you prefer to keep your love life private. You probably don't like to show off your partner. You may also get extremely jealous if other people flirt with your partner. This is because Pluto/Scorpio represents secrets and jealousy while the 5th and 7th house shows ones relationships (5th house=casual relationships and 7th house=long-term relationships)
âPeople with Neptune in the 1st/ 10th are be goofy as hell, some people may even view you as weirdđ. This is because Neptune rules abnormal behavior, while the 1st and 10th house show how others see you.
âPeople with Mars in the 6th/10th house may have dangerous jobs, or you may risk getting hurt on the job quite often(either burning yourself, or constantlyclimbing up high things). If you have an office job you may find that your colleagues see you as competition, and therefore treat you with hostility. This is because Mars rules danger, abrasions and hostility while the 6th and 10th houses represent your job.
âWhere Uranus is placed in you chart can show your aura, this is because Uranus rules auras:
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 1st: your aura colour is redâŁď¸. You come off as strong, fierce and confident. Perhaps you've been told that you're intimidating at times, and you're also really competitive.
âŞď¸ Uranus in 2nd: your aura colour is greenđ. You come off as beautiful, wealthy and at times, stubbornđ. You have a calming aura to you, you can reconnect with your true self by going into nature.
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 3rd: your aura colour is yellowđ. You are energetic, like to travel and explore different places and you are intellectual. Your aura is sometimes quite scattered, and may change often because of your changeable energy.

âŞď¸ Uranus in the 5th: your aura colour is goldđŞ. You are loyal, proud and you have royal energy. People may view you as luxury loving, you like being spoiled.
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 6th: your aura colour is emerald greenđ˛. You are grounded, kind but sometimes a bit too self-critical (you pretty asf babe). People may view your energy as really stable and 'neat'. It may be hard to read your energy because you're good at putting up a front.Â
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 7th: your aura colour is pink đ. You are loving, romantic and beautiful. You may be a very cooperative, non-confrontational person and may be viewed as submissive by others.
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 8th: your aura colour is black đ¤. You are mysterious, intimidating and you are very loyal. You radiate sensual, seductive energy.
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 9th: your aura colour is orangeđ§Ą. You are outgoing, energetic and social. You may be viewed as a very busy person, always travelling or doing something.
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 10th: your aura colour is brownđ¤. You are hardworking, confident(girlbossđ¸ ), and you really enjoy money. People may view you as bring really serious and you don't play about your money.
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 11th: your aura colour is blueđ. You are innovative, unique and intelligent. Your energy doesn't just fit into one category, one second you could be energetic and the other, you're lazy asf.
âŞď¸ Uranus in the 12th: your aura colour is purpleđ. You are artistic, empathic and ethereal. You may be overly compassionate, so be careful of people who want to manipulate your energy.
âVenus-Pluto hard aspects (square, opposition) can mean that other women hate on you out of jealousy or envy. This is because Pluto can show malice/ jealousy while Venus represents females.
âVenus in the 3rd can indicate that you'll meet your future lover in your neighborhood. Or your partners may live close to you. This is because Venus rules love and romantic relationships while the 3rd house can represent the neighborhood you grew up in.
âRuler of the 1st house in the 2nd house can mean that you just look rich, or people assume that you're wealthy because of how you look or the clothes and accessories you wear. This is because the 1st house rules your appearance and first impressions and 2nd house can represent luxury and wealth. You may spend a lot of money on your looks (skincare, clothing, makeup etc).
Thank you for getting to the end đ.

The Watch Party - The First Half
The room was decorated with streamers and balloons in the colors of Andreiâs team, and the table was filled with snacks and drinks. Malaysia wore sweater and sweatpants to represent Andrei.
As they munched on chips and sipped their drinks, they cheered and booed through the first half. Javier being the only guy there felt like he had to explain every play which started to annoy everyone. Malaysia knew more about football than he did honestly, but she kept quiet and let him feel like the big man.
At the end of the first half, Andreiâs team was up by 9. He made some pretty good runs, but Malaysia's hoping for a touchdown or two in the next half.

The 1975 saw a festival set cut short in Malaysia after frontman Matty Healy criticised the countryâs government for its LGBTQ+ laws, and kissed the bandâs bassist on-stage.
During their headlining set at the Good Vibes Festival in Kuala Lumpur on Friday July 21, Healy gave a speech calling out the Malaysian government for its hardline stance on gay rights.
âI made a mistake. When we were booking shows, I wasnât looking into it. I donât see the fucking point, right, I do not see the point of inviting The 1975 to a country and then telling us who we can have sex with,â said Healy.
He continued: âI am sorry if that offends you and youâre religious and itâs part of your fucking government, but your government are a bunch of fucking ret**ds and I donât care anymore. If you push, I am going to push back. I am not in the fucking mood, Iâm not in the fucking mood."
Healy later told the crowd that the night would not feature a set of their more âupliftingâ material due to his frustration.
âUnfortunately, you donât get a set of loads of uplifting songs because Iâm fucking furious and thatâs not fair on you because youâre not representative of your government,â he said. âBecause you are young people and I am sure a lot of you are gay and progressive and cool. So I pulled the show yesterday and we had a conversation and we said âYou know what? We canât let these kids down because theyâre not the problemâ.â
He added: âBut, Iâve done this before, Iâve gone to a country where, I donât know what the fuck it is? Ridiculous. Fucking ridiculous to tell people what they can do with their that and that [points to groin and mouth] and if you want to invite me here to do a show, you can fuck off. Iâll take your money, you can ban me, but Iâve done this before and it doesnât feel good and Iâm fucked off.â
Fan shot footage showed that after his speech, bassist Ross MacDonald walked over to him and then the two began to kiss. After their seventh song, âI Couldnât Be More In Loveâ, Healy told the crowd that they had to go, claiming the band had âjust got banned from Kuala Lumpurâ. The 1975 then left the stage.
....
Malaysian law criminalises sexual activity between people of the same sex, with its penal code criminalising âcarnal intercourse against the order of natureâ and acts of âgross indecencyâ.
This is not the first time Healy has spoken out against anti-LGBTQ laws in another country. In 2019, the singer kissed a male fan during a show in Dubai, defying strict anti-LGBTQ laws in the Arab state.
Footage of the moment showed Healy inviting the fan to hug him, before the pair shared a quick kiss.
Homosexuality is illegal in Dubai and is punishable with up to 10 years in jail.
Posting on Twitter after the show, he wrote: âThank you Dubai you were so amazing. I donât think weâll be allowed back due to my âbehaviourâ but know that I love you and I wouldnât have done anything differently given the chance again.â
He added: âBut who knows maybe they will let me back in letâs just wait and see."
CAN WE KILL THIS FUCKING GUY YET?? First the "ironic" Nazi salute to "dunk" on fucking Kanye, and now endangering queer people left, right and center?? HE KISSED A MAN ON STAGE IN SAUDI ARABIA AND THEN FUCKED OFF?? Is that poor dude even okay?? Did healy want to make him the target of a hate crime??? To be chased by police???? Now THIS???
He cheated a whole mess of people out of their money and pissed off and embarrassed a super religious conservative country where homosexuality is criminalized ON BEHALF OF "GAY RIGHTS??? Painting a huge target??? On Malaysian queer people??? And then fucked off?? Affecting not only his own fans but the festival staff and organizers, the vendors, the rest of the performers, future shows and festivals??? Because he didn't know what country he was booking shows in??
HUNT KILL STAB DIE MURDER KILL
Edit: He just got the festival shut down entirely. The music festival that was one of the few arenas where young queer people and artists got to express themselves, and a whole lot of poor vendors were depending on for some income. Stories already surfacing about the indie performers in the line-up affected by the shut down, including one musician who was planning for it to be her comeback performance dedicated to her mother after her death. Other concerts already scheduled and paid for the coming days are also now imperiled. All this so he could launder his reputation as a racist antisemite using queer people.
#THE CAUCASITY#I HATE THESE FUCKING WHITE ALLIES#MALAYSIAN QUEER PEOPLE ARENT ENOUGH IN DANGER FOR THIS PRICK???#Im been so fucking frustrated about the whole ''Matty Healy is Nazi'' thing because no he's an edgelord PRICK#who didn't mind hurting Jews for the chance to ''call out'' Kanye's antisemitism in the most attention-seeking way possible#and then act like he's just a misunderstood progressive#THE FUCKING ENTITLEMENT AND EGOMANIA#FUCK white celebrities like this man#homophobia#tw ableist slur#white allies#white queers#racism#antisemitism#i don't even know what to tag this Im shaking with rage#anti matty healy#white liberals#western leftists#QPoC#malaysia#entertainment#music industry#white privilege#global south#knee of huss

the whole 1975 thing pisses me off. people cant seem to comprehend that this isnt some black and white situation where its just homophobia because its so much more than that. i couldnt care less if he jacked off on stage, the problem is that he did this in a country thats incredibly queerphobic and because of that is incredibly strict on what bands can play here and what they can and cant do/say. We malaysians don't get alot od international bands as is, so bands like this and the strokes coming here of all places in our shit hole country is huge. but him saying and doing all that did this:
- cancelled the entire event because our government caught wind of it and shut it down after the first night when it was supposed to go on for 3
- probably made the rules and restrictions for bands to play here even tighter
- made other bands hesitant to play here
- maybe even tightened up the laws on queer people here in general, even more worse than they already are
- possibly put a lot of queer malaysians in general in danger because if the pigs suddenly decided to investigate the event further and question the organisers or people who attended and those people happened to be queer and they found out? theyre going straight to jail because that's how queer people are treated here by our government
yeah there are a good chunk of people here angry purely because of homophobia, that fact isnt something that can be denied or glossed over. but the most important thing here is the queer people that are gonna be put in danger. we're already consistently used as a political scape goat. but now we've finally started to take baby steps in the right direction of progress after finally electing the first pm in our history thats leftist (when in reality he's centrist at best) and now with how matty healy behaved and what he said, our governments fear of queer people have been confirmed and we might be in even more hot water. they've already discussed about making being queer a mental illness and this might give them the push to confirm everything.
what he did did nothing but do bad. we didnt need some white guy to tell us how oppressed we are, how queer people are ridiculed discriminated and abused, trust me buddy, we've lived here all our lives, we know, we dont need any white saviour telling us this.
people will scoff at countries like Malaysia because of how queerphobic it is and simply throw any empathy and kindness out the window, but people seem to forget that this queerphobia exists for a reason. the queerphobia here exists because WE exist, because WE QUEER MALAYSIANS EXIST. it doesn't just exist just because, they're hateful of us because we are here, they're hell bent on getting rid of us because we are here.
I've seen some people say "then just don't get international bands" why? why dont we get to have the opportunity to see the bands we like? why dont we get to have fun? what makes so inherintly lesser that we dont get to indulge in stuff like this like people from other countries do? we already are barred from being openly queer, is it so much to ask that we just want to have a good time by seeing bands we love? do we not deserve that just because people think our government and the shit heads here represent our entire country, acting like theres absolutely no queer communities here constantly fighting for our right to exist? is that why people think so lowly of us?
queer malaysians are now in danger and our progress have been set back 50 steps thanks to matty healys "activism". I understand that he did it in good faith, but it just came off as entitled, privileged and selfish, especially with how he handled it after the fact.
if you're here to argue or insult me on this post, dont bother, im blocking you. im not wasting my time.

I saw a TikTok the other day, where I picked up a child that I love, who's a friend of mine... a friend of mine's child, and I put them down. And there was a TikTok conversation as to whether my finger placement was appropriate. So what, we're just casually accusing people of being a pedophile now, are we? For entertainment? Is that what we're doing? No? It fucking looks like it. I'm not having a go at you, there's people filming this. It fucking looks like it. You don't casually insinuate that shit. Out gay artists like Troye Sivan and Lil Nas X are nowhere near as big as Harry. Most of the world is still rabidly homophobic including the US. Coming out would hugely damage his career and even endanger his life so there's no way he's doing it. Your perspective is that of someone living in a liberal European country but it's not representative of how the majority of the world thinks. The biggest global artists - Taylor, Bad Bunny, Ed, JB, Weeknd, Beyonce, Rihanna, Drake - are all straight and that's not a coincidence.
Hi,
I'm not comparing him to troye or lil nas x. I used lil nas x as an example of an artist who've come out after being successful (old town road) and not fallen out of favour with the gp after (industry baby). It was to say that its possible to keep your place and standing in the industry after coming out.
Harry is on another level, but i think his target audience is ready for him to come out. Remember harry right now is not only straight presenting, but also gay presenting. The homophobes already don't like him. I also don't think they are the target audience. You need to use 'target audience' as your point of reference and not the world at large. You also need to factor in that yes he will lose some, but he'll also win some (and i think the win will cover the loss).
When people talk and go 'hey, did you hear that harry styles guy, who played that gay closeted policeman in that movie, came out?' I don't think that would be a big shock to people. I don't think that would stop them from being a fan. I also happen to think that his life would be more in danger if he were to embark on a stunt with TS come october, than if he were to have a carefully crafted coming out. Elton John has played all over the world and low and behold is still alive. The world isn't that homophobic. (You also forgot him and George Michael on your list of best selling global artist). Also, it's not like Harry and Louis are going to do a M*ty Hea*** and make out on stage in Malaysia.
(I also have some news for you about some of the people on your straight global artist lists lol. But i'll let you figure that one out for yourself).

Ba Jiao Gui, Banana Ghost
A fascinating story with roots in Southeast Asian folklore, the legend of Ba Jiao Gui, also known as the Banana Ghost, is especially common in places like Thailand, Malaysia, and southern China. People report that this spectral being resides on banana trees, specifically the variety known as "ba jiao" in Chinese. The tale of Ba Jiao Gui illustrates both the cultural value of nature in various communities and the diverse fabric of local beliefs. According to folklore, people frequently depict the Ba Jiao Gui as a female spirit. It's thought that the ghost lives inside the banana tree and only comes out at night. Typically, the spirit manifests as a stunning woman in traditional clothing, occasionally adorned with long, flowing hair. Despite her seductive appearance, her presence often evokes a sense of danger. People, especially males, believe that the Ba Jiao Gui uses her charm to entice gullible people. Those who succumb to her charm could experience misfortune or perhaps die.
The legend of Ba Jiao Gui deeply instills the cultural and spiritual bond that humans have with nature. Numerous tribes in Southeast Asia hold trees and plants in high regard and believe them to be the homes of spirits. This idea emphasizes how vital it is to respect the natural world and the invisible realm. The Ba Jiao Gui is a warning to handle the natural world carefully, since upsetting it could provoke the wrath of the spirits that inhabit it. People frequently employ tales from the Ba Jiao Gui as warnings, serving a societal purpose. People sometimes call upon the ghost to warn against playing near banana trees at night or to discourage youngsters from going alone in remote locations. This part of the fable emphasizes how important folklore is for teaching lessons and maintaining communal safety. The legend of Ba Jiao Gui bears a fascinating resemblance to numerous ghost stories from various cultures, where spirits are associated with specific natural features or sites. This similarity points to a widespread human impulse to humanize nature, giving it spirits that represent both its potential danger and its beauty.
The legend of Ba Jiao Gui still piques people's curiosity about folklore and the paranormal in modern times. Contemporary literature, art, and inspirational movies have incorporated it. The Ba Jiao Gui's timeless appeal stems from its skill in fusing aspects of mystery, beauty, and terror to create a story that speaks to both the past and the present. Ultimately, the Ba Jiao Gui fable demonstrates the importance of storytelling in preserving cultural heritage. It combines aspects of spirituality, prudence, and awe to provide insight into how people view and engage with the natural environment. Like many other folktales that use ghosts, the Ba Jiao Gui lives on as a reminder of the vast and varied traditions that influence our perceptions of life and the natural world, as well as the mysteries that lie beyond the realm of the visible.

Chapter 93:
In Sarawak, Malaysia there's a car crash. That's bad enough but some inky pillar of a tentacle kills the survivor of the wreckage. A woman shows up, lamenting that she was too late...
Meanwhile, Yakumo is in the airport, complaining about the rain. Why is he in Malaysia? A Japanese company in the country asked for his services in slaying demons. When asked why he specifically had to go, Ling-Ling gives a mirthless grin and alludes to the giant fucking hole in the ceiling that was the aftermath of the light beast attack. Yakumo points out that he wasn't the cause of that but he's still forced to go. A chaffeur picks him up from the airport and drives him off.
He's a representative from the Japanese company and is taken aback from how young Yakumo looks. Yakumo says he's 21 and has five years of experience but the representative still doesn't believe him. Yakumo is fine with that though; Yougekisha only accepts payment after the job is done.
Yakumo points out Malaysia is an eastern country so it should be loud but it's so quiet. The representative says that November to January is a monsoon season so everybody's inside to not get flooded to death. Also, there are a lot of Japanese businesses transporting wood during the season so they'll hear a lot of trucks. Yakumo then asks the guy to pull over. The representative does and Yakumo gets out to vomit. The plane ride along with the car travel were not kind to his stomach...
Then he sees a black mark on the road. The representative just got here last week so he doesn't know what it is and Yakumo senses demon energy from it. The representative wants to get back to the company before they do anything but Yakumo notices the car crash from earlier. And another. And another...they're the reason Yakumo was called over. And what's worse is what happened to the bodies...some are decapitated, some are poisoned and others were flattened within the trucks. The leader of the village these accidents occurred in says a monster caused these attacks. This is clearly a problem: if the workers keep dying, the company won't make any money during monsoon season.
The representative was sent by the company to investigate and, having become a fan of Yougekisha when he read their magazines in Hong Kong, he decided to contact them for help. But he's a bit upset they sent a "kid" instead of an actual badass to help...
However, while they're outside the company's headquarters, a couple of workers are harassing the woman from earlier. She's telling them to stop going out in the rain but they say they have to deliver the wood to keep their jobs. One of them boots her but Yakumo runs in to protect her. He asks her what she knows about the murders but she runs off. She shouts that all the Japanese need to go back to their own country or they'll be killed.
After that, Yakumo tells the boss what she said and he tells him to fuck off. The company not only needs to keep going but they have to pay the families of the dead workers. He says he doesn't care about the case and tells the representative, Santeen, to watch Yakumo before booting them out of his office.
Santeen apologizes for his boss' behavior outside the office, saying the recent events have left him unstable. Then a worker runs up, saying they found another corpse. Yakumo and Santeen go to see it and find it grotesquely bloated due to poison. Another worker says that six people were sent out, causing Yakumo to get in a speedboat and tell the others to get inside. The workers are confused but Santeen tells them to just do what he says.
Yakumo whines on the boat about wanting to spend Christmas with Pai but he's dealing with this shit...and the workers are already dead! He tells the monster to come out and the chapter ends with him facing a large thing with dragons for limbs.

Oppressed Labourer
Young Bala came from Afghanistan when he was a kid. His father started a tailoring shop in Singapore before World War II. Bala who was small in size was always looked upon as the pigmy of the class. He completed his primary education in an English medium school. He used to try very hard to join the primary school football team and his training in other games and athletic events were persistent. After trying hard and failed to be selected for any team to represent his school, he diverted his attention to something else. He made himself the Sports Officer of the Singapore Association of Youths. Expensive dance tickets were sold every month.
One Saturday morning, a student knocked on David's door.
" Good morning, Sir. Would you like to buy a dance ticket?"
In order to please this innocent girl, David bought one even though he knew it meant more drink and smoke for the organizer.
The following month, David's door was knocked again. This time, a man with two Form 5 girls were there.
"Mr. David, would you like to contribute to the National Disaster Fund?" Bala asked.
" I'll donate only if you show me the official permit from the government," David answered.
Bala apologized and hurried off. The two girls thought they met another nasty guy.
" Don't you think he had been rude?" Carol whispered when they reached the car.
" Yes, indeed he was very rude. We should not see him again," Bala answered.
" Why didn't you bring the letter from the O.C.P.D.?" Carol enquired ignorantly.
" I forgot it."
Many months passed. No one knew about the fund raising incident. During a cricket match, Bala met David, who was the bowler from the education team. When the ball went too far from the sticks, Bala would deliberately boo sarcastically.
" David. Go back to Pulau Ubin. It's your best place," Bala commented half jokingly.
" Why didn't you remain in Afghanistan eating tapioca?" David began to show his temper.
At 12 pm, the match ended not too happily. All the players, went as usual, to the recreation club which was just next to the field. David ordered a roast chicken and some rice. The steaming fowl made saliva poured and the more intelligent ones started to sip their tea. That was why I didn't enjoy going to restaurants where the service was slow. Bala, whose salivary gland was most activated, made himself invited.
" Pull a chair and sit down, " David invited him as he was standing by the side of the table, and pulled a drum stick for the guest who devoured it straight away. Sweat rolled down from his forehead and his face was wet.
David sympathized with this unpleasant personality. After all, every living being must have the Buddha nature too.
" Would you like to have a dance ticket?" Bala murmured.
"Why ? You should give me one free of charge, for that drum stick."
" I didn't say you must pay for this ticket?" Bala took that ticket from the table and went away. He knew that it was too obvious he had to move to another locality.
This young man shifted over to JB ( in Malaysia) and made himself the chairman of the hockey association there. Unpaid position sometimes are more lucrative than the salaried position He was able to make some money by marking up the articles for the association which he volunteered to purchase.
After spending the life of a tramp, Bala eventually decided he should take a wife. He came back to Punggol and talk to his mother about it. Singapore was not a good hunting ground for him though there were more marriageable females than males.
"Son. They were saying to find a wife was as easy as getting a pebble on the road," the mother comforted him.
" But mother, I don't like those silly girls here. For example, they laughed at us. They said our atap house was built of palm leaves and baku wood, and that it was standing on another person's land."
" Son, if you don't want to be hurt, no one will be successful in hurting you. Roger may be able to introduce you one from Malaysia."
" Won't he laugh at me?"
"No. I'll tell him Bala refused to get married because they were no eligible girls here. For example, your horoscope and their horoscope cannot match."
" Excellent, Mother," Bala's face brightened. He knew Roger would not fail him.
Roger, a young teacher was then invited to the humble hut of this family.
" Your mother told me you had not found a suitable partner in Singapore?"
"Oh, those silly girls. How could I ever settle down with any of them?"
Roger went to spend his Easter holiday in Malaysia. He was wondering if he should recommend a Chinese, Malay, or Indian? Malaysians were materialistic. It was a fact that if a non-Chinese wanted to marry a Chinese girl, he must be rich. Malay girls adored only gallant knights. Poor Bala would never have a chance. Roger eventually concluded that an Indian girl was the answer. Roger went to JB to hunt for the suitable girl who would accept the photo of Bala.
" I can recommend you a sexy one from my estate," Joe studied hard on that teacher.
"How much can you offer ? My share and her mother's ?"
" Doesn't she have a father?"
" Her father was involved in flying a small plane to smuggle in heroin from Thailand to Malaysia. He escaped a few trips but one day as the plane was landing on a beach during low tide, it ran over a boulder and he was killed. You can take her if you offer me RM
2000 and another RM 2000 for her mother. I can easily persuade her since I'm the boss here. Her employment is at my pleasure."
The sum was paid.
" She is yours by tonight. Have a good time, my dear friend."
At the Tanjong Pagar to welcome Joan and Roger were Bala and his mother.
" Look, mother, that's the girl," Bala pointed at Roger and Joan.
" Yes, son. Roger is surely a good fellow."
Roger went his way after handing over the girl to the waiting man. Bala hired a taxi to return to Punggol with Joan and his mother.
" Joan, how do you like our small house?" Bala asked.
" I'm not suppose to comment, mum told me before I left JB."
" This place will be very prosperous within a few years. The government had planned to build a MRT here. I 'm sure by then the huge shopping malls, schools, and others would be constructed. We are very lucky to be living at this location."
In the evening, the family went to have dinner at the food court. They dined silently. Joan adapted herself well, though inwardly she was very worried. A thousand and one
questions struck her. Bala, with a new tie on his neck, looked proud. Every now and then, he liked to look aside, as if posing for a cameraman. His shirt sleeves were too long for him. He strolled slowly but elegantly along the street. They came to a bench under a tree. He cleaned it for the lady to sit down.
" Singapore is a wonderful place. Before I arrived, I thought you had pick-pockets rushing about the town."
The crescent moon hang at about 40 degrees on the sky. On the water surface, the moonlight beams were wavering. Cars speeded by behind the bench, just about three feet away.
" You fellows drive as fast as those in JB."
" Any fool can drive fast," Bala told her.
They returned home by the last bus that night. The poor mother who left earlier walked home as that was her method of saving some money. The marriage was fine and Joan did enjoyed it as a lady should. Unfortunately, Bala began to get frustrated. First off all, he could not find more money to lead a better life. Fate was deadly against him. He strived hard but was only able to make ends meet. Joan helped the family by doing laundry work. This meant better foods and clothes. Bala's drinking habit got worse.
Years passed. Bala's mother died of old age, just like his father. Nothing in this universe remains unchanged. The family consisted of only husband and wife. The family went to a temple to supplicate, thinking that Joan was not fertile. Surprisingly, Joan conceived after the temple visit and nine months later, a daughter was born. The devas do help us at times, donât they ? They named her Sheila.
Bala had been a construction worker and only started to have problem with the daughter when she was nine years old.
" Why don't you teach in school like Mr. Chung and Mr. George ?" the inquisitive daughter asked him.
" Why? Am I not doing a honourable job?"
" But teachers said all labourers were uneducated. They said if we didn't work hard we would be labourers one day."
" Who said so?" the furious father clenched his fists.
" Mr. Chung and Mr. George."
The agitated father rushed to the quarters of Mr. Chung and Mr. George, both were bachelors.
"You're Chung and George? Why did you tell my daughter labourers were uneducated?"
" I'm sorry. I said that to encourage my students to work harder. I didn't mean to insult anybody," George replied.
" Didn't you infer at me?"
" No, I didn't even know you."
" I'm Bala, Sheila's father."
"Glad to know you Bala. She is a smart girl."
"Next time you insult me again, I'll knock some teeth out of your bloody big mouth."
" There is nothing wrong in being labourers. My father was one and so was Mr. George's father," Chung who was impatient joined in.
" You bloody Chinaman. You think you're smart because you 're a teacher?"
Bala wheeled and walked off. He came home very much relieved. Sheila was waiting for him at the gate which was in front of the house.
" Where did you go, papa?"
" I went to see your stupid teachers."
The tired man went to sleep after dinner. At 11 o'clock that night he had to work again but the overtime pay was good so Bala did not mind at all. Joan filled his metal can with black coffee and got ready the basket and the safety hat in case he woke up late and started shouting again.
The next morning he came home mentally and physically exhausted as the engine noise at the construction site nearly deafened him. He spent the whole morning in bed. In the afternoon he went off to work again. That afternoon, the Exploration Society of Punggol Primary School organized a trip to visit a building site. It was a coincident that Sheila was in the group and the site was where Bala worked. This construction site occupied about 100 acres and was the then biggest construction site in Singapore. Mr.Tan the general manager took the group of the students and the teacher Mr. Matai to the various places of interest. On the way Bala was seen carrying two bags of cement on his back. He stopped to call his daughter Sheila. Sheila ignored him and moved on with the group. The
man's eyes were filled with tears and he took the two bags on his back again. The engines seemed to roar louder. No one noticed him. The hurt father came home that night, storming the daughter and the mother.
"You donkey. Why didn't you answer me?" he pulled the girl by the hair, her face thus tilted up.
"Let her go. What had she done?" the wife yelled at him.
" Why? She was ashamed of her own father."
"Does that matter?"
"I struggled and sweated hoping to bring up a good family and here I'm, rejected by my own daughter."
The building project was near completion. Bala was transferred to work at the wharf. He loved his new place as he could have a lung-full of fresh air. Moreover, there were the roaring waves which he enjoyed watching. The terrible heat from the fierce hot sun was not felt as much as at the construction site. He remained a labourer here for several years mainly because all foremen he worked for used to write very bad reports about him, accusing him of not safety conscious, stealing company articles from the incoming cargoes, laziness, not able to corporate with the colleages etc. In actual fact, the company properties were stolen by the foremen and the security guards. Some people say good people die young. Perhaps they were right. Joan died at the age of 29, when Sheila was only 13. Sheila had to leave school and grew up overnight taking over the mother's place of housekeeping.
Bala did not seem to miss his wife. He went on with his job as usual and was probably much happier now because there was no one to complain about his drinking habit. Every day he would spend half of what he received on beer, all the time taking it with his cronies at the local cafeteria at about 6 pm. before he came home to rest.
One stormy night, Bala came home after loading a ship that was leaving at midnight. Lightning flashed and thunders banked in the sky. Torrential rain poured as if the earth must be flooded. Bala was soaking wet when he reached home. He bathed, took a light meal and went to sleep. There being only one room in the hut, he slept in the sitting room on a canvas bed. Sheila's room was forced open by the wind. This adolescent had the body of a matured lady. Bala's sexual desire was aroused when he saw the sleeping girl. He did not have enough money to frequent the brothels. There was no solution. He entered the room and undressed her. The lightning was followed by a big bank. The rain poured more heavily. Sheila woke up and asked.
" What do you want, Papa?"
" Not anything."
Sheila tried to put on her dress but Bala took it and threw it away. He jumped on her. THe thunder bolt was brilliant as it passed from the clouds to the earth. It was about 2 inches in diameter, and about 200 meters long. The banging sound was deaftening. Was it trying to kill someone? When he had his tension released, he left the room, leaving the girl crying. From that day onward she had to submit. In order to help the family expenses, Sheila worked in a coffee bar. This hard working and frugal beauty attracted the owner who threatened to expel her if she refused his advances. So she had to entertain whenever the owner wished. She grew up that way, seeing nothing in these scoundrels except their sexual greed, which grew more and more intense every day. What else could the country men understand except the temporal enjoyment?
At the age of 18, there were many young men who wanted to marry her. She rejected all partly because her father was still living and partly because men were only vicious brutes to her. She found more happiness in solitude. One limping gentleman came in to introduce himself as a Construction Company owner from Luyang Offshore Supply Base. He was Chinese and he wanted Sheila to be his second wife. He thought his income could attract her but didn't know the lady had no greed for his money. Sheila refused to offer her body for money and begged the man to invite other girls instead. But this rich man said he was in love with her and he offered his condo keys and the key to his BMW telling her to make use of the BMW and the condo whenever she wanted to. All her colleagues said she was stupid to turn down such a good offer. Was she ?
"You will be rich if your marry him, Sheila" one of the senior colleagues advised her.
" No, I don't like his behaviour. The first time he met me in this shop he asked me how much I would charge him for one shot (meaning to have one sexual session with him). I have no respect for people like this and I don't need much money in this life. Let me wait for a better man."
One Friday night, Sheila was personally informed that her father was knocked down by a lorry at a pedestrians crossing. He died on the spot, leaving Sheila to start her own life. The police report said that the traffic light was green and the lorry driver was running at only 50 km per hour. The driver had another passenger on the front seat to be the witness. Dead man cannot talk.

Hhm......
I've seen so many ttte humanoid au from crossover to original and that's popping me an idea...
My oc is a literal Goddess with biblical angel appearance and I think of an au where ttte is in a fantasy world, and my oc is the creation god in there while lady is a goddess that represents ALL the locomotive from early old engines to newest electrical engine, she is formless following what locomotive or species that sees her (example if the who sees is engine then she become oldest engine class, if the one that sees her is diesel then she become oldest diesel class something like that you guys know the drill).
And if you said I'm narcissistic you can said that since start.
And I named it Gold Dust Fantasia Au and focused on the locomotive MORE than the devine beings or other vehicle or species since I like it when it's seperated.
My au is consist of 'magic is exist and change many things but with a trade of our freedom is taken away' kind of thing, still some of the major event and non-major one's happened but with supernatural things or magical shits (also 'This is the work of Fiction so don't even thing about believing it').
But it all places are 'magic is exist and we lived in peace or used it for justice' thing or just 'magic is exist but we know our limit so don't even think about it!', some countries also develop this in their territory like: UK, USA, Canada, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, and more (especially in the line of equator).
But some countries also didn't used that like: The middle Eastern countries (I cannot remember the names), Some part of Africa, China, India in the lower Caste, and more (especially the closed or REALLY strict countries like North Korea)
Also there's always something that we cannot control or do it on our will, magic is everywhere and it starting a new kind of life that is living vehicle and filled with their own kind of magic and their magic types are separated into different categories but this post will only explain :P
Only this that I can think of for now :). I will try to make a damn post to explain this 'Gold Dust Fantasia AU' and if this post already posted I just say that my Tumblr had some error

NSR AMA
DISCLAIMER: I DIDNâT COMPILE THE ANSWERS. THESE WERE ON AN ACCOUNT NAMED @Cureconquestgirl ON TUMBLR WHICH GOT HACKED, BUT I MANAGED TO USE WAYBACK TO SALVAGE IT.Â
The following is a compilation of answers by Haz and Daim on AMA streams.Â
BUNK BED JUNCTION (FT. DK WEST)
- mayday and zuke live in the sewers because theyâre an underground band. itâs a pun
- there were originally two variations of bbj leaving the sewers - one with mayday hi-fiving gigi (which had a 95% chance of happening), and one with zuke awkwardly fumbling and attempting to hi-five gigi (which had a 5% chance)
- one of the inspirations for mayday and zuke were the two main characters of samurai champloo (zuke was jin, mayday was mugen)
- someone asked about if the rest of the cast had their own shadow puppets. ben suggested a lemur for mayday, while ellie suggested a zucchini for zuke. she may have been joking.
- maydayâs guitar solos were done by different people, but zukeâs drum solos were all done by bruno valverde.
- zuke was the one who implemented the canister thing into maydayâs guitar.
- someone asked who of the cast are the introverts and who are the extroverts. mayday is an extrovert, zuke is an introvert.
- the team does have a bit of lore for mayday and zuke and how they met, but they want to save it in case of a future project.
- mayday was inspired by both genevieve from company of thieves and the unbreakable kimmy schmidt.
- ben did the animation for mayday swinging the hammer in the workshop.
- haz recalls seeing some fanart of mayday being brought up as a rich girl. he doesnât remember the artist, but he does like the idea.
- the japanese version has zuke say he has a phd rather than a masterâs degree. this is apparently a mistake.
- the pattern on zukeâs pants was inspired by jolyne cujoh and prosciutto from jojoâs bizarre adventure.
- zukeâs toilet seat collection came partially from a story from one of the environmental artists where one of their high school friends pranked another friend with a toilet seat.
- zuke does a lot of reading and is naturally inquisitive about things like tech and mechanics.
- dk westâs shadow puppet abilities might run in the family, and zuke may have it as well.
- both zuke and dk west are connected by percussion (zuke with the drums, west with the hand claps)
- zuke and west werenât always designed to be related â west was originally designed as âsome guy who comes and goes,â but was made into zukeâs brother later on in production
- dk west is an extrovert.
DJ SUBATOMIC SUPERNOVA
- djssâ dj name is obviously a stage name, but the team didnât have a real name for him in the script or anything.
- haz joked that his name is bob salad. thatâs not canon but from what i seen the chat loved it lol
- haz brings up the symbolism of djss spinning the planets around himself and how it represents that he thinks of himself as the center of the universe.
- ellie helped design the districts, and something she noted about djâs is that itâs supposed to look the âslummiestâ because he cares more about himself and less about things like blackouts.
- dj had some lines cut from his boss fight. those lines? mini lectures towards bbj during every phase. they were cut because the team felt like they were too much for the game, but they want to share them one day.
- daim says that dj could be either introverted or extroverted becuase of how much time he spends alone looking at the stars.
- dj was never planned to have an approach segment, but funk fiction wasnât told that, so he made him an approach theme anyway.
- dodo ice pops are traffic light flavoured, which is a popular ice cream in malaysia. itâs strawberry, pineapple, and lime flavored.
- djss took the least amount of time to develop out of all the bosses (haz says his fight took about half a year.)
- daim purposely tried to make djssâ name as long as he could. he was specifically looking at negasonic teenage warhead from deadpool for inspiration.
- haz and daim do have the briefing/kliffnotes for djss. they discussed sharing them at some point, but idk when that would happen.
- related to the above, daim says that dj is in his mid thirties. EDIT: his kliffnotes were shared on twitter and they say heâs 41. daim must have goofed haha
- when asked if djss actually has a face and how he eats, daim compares it to kenny from south park and how you never see his face. he thinks dj does have a face in there, but that we just never see it. as for the âhow does he eatâ part, daim says that sometimes they donât have to show everything.
- daim is a djneon/neonnova shipper, and itâs one his favourite pairings alongside zuke/mayday.
- daim said that uncle ali basically instantly landed the role as djss. he was that good.
SAYU AND THE NERD SQUAD
- three of sayuâs creators were based on staff members at metronomik. remi (voiced by ben) was based on one of the programmers and one of the environmental artists (ellie calls him âthe lovechild of two dudesâ), tila was based on (and voiced by) ellie herself, and dodo was based on danish mak (another environmental artist who also voices him).
- sofa wasnât based on anyone in particular, he was more of a âgeneral otaku guyâ according to ellie (though haz joked that ellie could just say he was based on him).
- dodo is daimâs favorite npc â he also designed him!
- sayu was ellieâs favorite character to design. she loves drawing mermaids.
- the progression in sayuâs fight where you go deeper into the âoceanâ is supposed to be a metaphor for going deeper into the internet/the deep web.
- ellie suggested that if sayu were to have a shadow puppet, it would be a cat.
- as for the introvert/extrovert debate, daim says sayu is technically comprised of 4 introverts. sayu herself is the extrovert mask they wear.
- sayuâs ahoge is a submarine periscope. remi looks through it in one of the cutscenes.
- sayuâs not a mech. sheâs remotely controlled by her creators from their computer room.
- the backstory between remi and tila is meant to show that artists can come from all sorts of backgrounds.
- sayu was obviously inspired by hatsune miku and other vocaloids, but haz brings up one particular commercial involving miku and google chrome, which involves a bunch of people collborating on songs and concept art for miku, similar to how sayu started as a collab between remi and tila in-universe.
- someone asked about the models for sayuâs crewâs apartments. there wasnât much on that, but haz mentions that one of his favourite nsr fanfics (yes, he reads them) is âRoad to Redemption,â and thereâs a scene that takes place in a studio where the crew works on sayu, and he really likes that.
- the devs wanted sayuâs name to sound both malay and japanese at the same time (as well as a nod to miku). haz says it means âwarm waterâ in japanese.
- akusuka is a direct copy of akihabara in terms of locale.
- sayuâs shellfish commercial is a homage to a real snack in malaysia named mamee monster, which is hugely popular with kids. the format of the commercial itself was inspired by a pocky commercial that featured hatsune miku.
YINU AND MAMA
- yinuâs promotional video was one of the first ones done before they brought in lzbros, so it originally looked different from how it looks in the game now.
- yinuâs motherâs eyes are yellow because she spends most of the fight focusing on yinu (who is mainly yellow). when her eyes go blank white, it represents that sheâs momentarily forgotten what she loves the most. when her eyes become yellow again after the fight, it means sheâs remembered yinu and her piano playing.
- the way ellie describes natura is that yinu is a plant and her mother is very protective of her, and one of the distinctive features is that there are a lot of domes with plants inside, particularly on the roofs of the houses.
- yinuâs commercial was not intended to reference little miss fortune. the commercial was shown in 2018, while LMF came out a year later.
- yinuâs mom turning into a giant tree monster isnât exclusive to her just being angry at bbj. apparently the whole plant thing runs in the yinu family.
- her game design (for her boss fight) was partially done in ms paint by music director falk (who made the base version of her boss theme)
- yinuâs mom doesnât have a name. sheâs just mother/mama.
- haz confirmed that yinuâs father is, in fact, dead.
- daim thought yinuâs name was a nod to yuna (a popular malaysian artist). itâs not.
- natura is daimâs favourite district. he likes how calm it is compared to the others.
- daim said that they wanted a hint of hope in all three of yinuâs backstory photographs, to show that no matter how bad your life gets, thereâs always that glimmer of hope and that good things can still happen.
1010
- 1010âs concept as a boy band had been around since before the team started production, but they were the last to be fully designed â their designs werenât finalized until way later on.
- 1010 were ellieâs least favorite characters to design. she doesnât like drawing guys OR robots.
- 1010âs early designs had them wearing tuxedos.
- 1010 do have memories.
- the inspiration for the butt plates came from one of benâs gundam figures from his collection in the metronomik office. thanks ben.
- ellieâs favorite member of 1010 is purl-hew/blue.
- eloni/green is apparently the rapper of the group.
- the jingle you hear from the carousel in metro division is a carnival remix of 1010âs boss theme.
- the numbers underneath 1010âs names on the autographs are completely random.
- the members of 1010 do not have any official names.
- the assets for the autographs were made by the artists at one of the partner companies working with metronomik on nsr. haz and daim didnât really have anything to do with making them, and while daim did approve them for the final game, he was sorta skimming through a bunch of assets along with the autographs, and he didnât realize what they really were at the time until later. haz is impressed with how the fans managed to decipher them.
- 1010âs fight was purposefully put between yinuâs and eveâs as a break from the emotional stuff.
- michael jackson was used as a reference for 1010âs animations/moves.
- the Bio Tactical Shield that you get for zuke after beating 1010 is a reference to BTS.
- tangibly related, but the collectable figurines are supposed to serve more as a backstory to vinyl city as a whole, rather than 1010 or neon j. daim describes the figures as what events were going on and what people were doing before the events of nsr.
- 1010âs appearance from older trailers (where they all looked the same) were actually placeholders. 1010âs actual designs werenât finished yet when those trailers were released.
- parts of 1010âs designs (for their bodies/outfits) were inspired by tron uprising, a project that daim worked on.
- somebody asked why 1010 and neon j have sculpted butt plates. daim and haz have no idea, but daim suggested that ellie (who designed 1010) and jan (who did their character models) put them there to up the âsexy robotâ factor.
- daimâs favourite member of 1010 is purl-hew/blue, and hazâs favourite is eloni/green.
- the members of 1010 were designed based on popular tropes in boy bands. rin/white is âthe main guy,â zimelu/red is the âbad boy,â purl-hew/blue is the âcool guy,â haym/yellow is the âyoung/innocent one,â and eloni/green is the âweird/funny one.â
- eloni/green not getting fan mail was based on how the âfunny guyâ of kpop bands/idol groups donât seem to get as much attention as the rest of the group.
NEON J
- neon j is a dancer. daim explains that in addition to being in the navy, dance has always been his true passion.
- in the final phase of 1010âs fight, he was originally supposed to control the dance moves of the factory as he was fighting you, but it was cut due to limited resources.
- daim designed neon j based on ellieâs designs for 1010.
- neon jâs factoryâs dance moves were all animated by ben â no mocap needed. the factory was also his favorite thing to animate.
- daim says that âneon j is to tatiana as soundwave is to megatron.â basically he is extremely loyal to tatiana.
- neon j was one of earliest members of nsr.
- neon j seeing 1010 as his sons wasnât planned, but daim loves the concept so much that he could see it being canon.
- daim says neon jâs brain is âprobablyâ still inside the monitor head. somehow.
- neon j is an extrovert.
- haz likes the idea of neon j being blind and using his sonar to âseeâ things. ben joked that the screen worked like giant glasses.
- neon j originally had red dots that would pop up on his face when the sonar moved by that were meant to represent acne, and that wouldâve been the reason why heâs mostly behind the scenes.
- haz and daim didnât expect neon j to become so popular. haz joked about blaming it on ddaddystar, who did that doodle of djss and neon j from the credits.
- when asked about neon jâs age, daim said heâs definitely older than djss, and that he could be in his forties.
- related to the age thing, someone in chat said he should be older if he went to war in the sixties. haz replied by saying they never mentioned what year the game takes place in, so it doesnât necessarily take place in the present/2020.
- a lot of people asked about the border wars, and daim and haz said they like leaving the bulk of it up to fan interpretation.
- daim said that neon jâs organs were preserved in a robotic shell after the war, and thatâs why heâs considered a cyborg.
- as stated above, daim is a djneon/neonnova shipper, and itâs one his favourite pairings alongside zuke/mayday.
- neon jâs monologue was slightly longer, but it was cut down because zul (neon jâs va) didnât do very many takes for the monologue, and the takes he did do didnât have the comedic punch that daim was looking for, so it got shortened.
- the singing parts of neon jâs lines were ad-libbed by zul in his audition, and daim liked it so much that it stayed for the final game.
- neon jâs monologue had to be altered in the japanese dub so that the jokes/comedy would make more sense.
EVE
- in maydayâs side of the room when eve splits up bbj, the hands all over the walls are meant to be there to show how eve is angrier at mayday than she is at zuke.
- the time signature for the music in maydayâs room during the fight is 6/8, whereas in zukeâs room itâs 4/4.
- ellie suggested a platypus shadow puppet for eve. the rest of the team seems to be on board.
- eve was benâs least favorite character to animate. he said he struggled with animating her dance moves because it was something heâd never done before, and he still doesnât think he did a good enough job.
- eve was born with her split skin tone.
- apparently eveâs near scrapping had something to do with costs. haz was the one who stopped it from happening.
- the color changing paintings from her boss fight were created by accident.
- eve was put as the last boss because of how emotional her relationship with zuke was and how complicated and intricate she is as a whole compared to the rest of the bosses.
- daim considers eve to be the âfinal bossâ for zuke, while tatiana is the final boss for mayday.
- eve took the longest to develop out of all the bosses. she was orignally a lot more complicated, and daim said they had to âfilterâ a lot of things about her in order to tone her down and fit her into the game.
- eve was almost scrapped from the game. daim said her concept as an eccentric artist wasnât as well known as the other four bossesâ concepts, and combine that with how long it took to finalize her⌠yeah.
- none of the artists have set in stone heights because of how the gameplay works, but eve is the tallest one. the closest scene in the game that has them at their actual heights is the ending.
- her name was originally eva, but it was changed bc thereâs already a popular artist with the same name.
- daim explains that a big part of eveâs concept and theme is her embracing herself. he uses the example of eveâs backstory where she starts out hating herself and trying to cover the pink half of her face, but then starts doing less of that overtime. he also mentions that all the body parts (hands, arms, legs, etc.) from her fight also come from her embracing her body and using it in her artwork.
- dream fever is hazâs favourite district.
- daim didnât originally think of zuke and eve as being an actual couple until later down the line when the story heavily implied it.
- eveâs younger designs were done by lzbros, who did all the 2d animation for the game.
- eveâs outfit was partly inspired by beyonce, while her jacket was partly inspired by ariana grande. the team took some inspiration from bjork, as well.
- the sleeves on eveâs jacket were apparently limbs at one point.
- eve is an introvert.
NPCS/OTHER CHARACTERS
- part of tatianaâs symbolism is how she used to be a rock star, but her flame/passion slowly burned away, and now sheâs just a rock, referencing how she was literally on fire as the rock star kul fyra, but now looks burnt out.
- daim thinks kliff is older than tatiana, probably over 50.
- in addition to the neon j dance lore mentioned above, kayane rambling about neon j after the 1010 fight was supposed to be connected to her watching neon j dance.
- ben and hazâs favorite npc is mia, and ellieâs is dj zam.
- dj zam was inspired by one of ellieâs college friends, who she says âmakes you feel comfortable to be aroundâ.
- ellie thinks dj zamâs neck tattoo says âi love momâ.
- amal the unicorn is a reference to lady amalthea from the 80âs animated film âthe last unicornâ. he was originally written to be a real talking unicorn, but it was changed partially because his horn wasnât in the right spot on his head.
- zed was based on game designer dzaid and has hyperacusis, a hearing disorder that makes it difficult to deal with everyday sounds.
- yirukâs name is an anagram of kiryu, the protagonist of the yakuza games.
- chef sunshineâs design is a homage to julia child. she originally had a bigger physique, but was changed to match lyliaâs bubbly performance.

good evening nsr community, i went through the ama from today and came back with an armful or two of lore. thereâs a bunch more than last time, and i included bbj as well as the npcs. cozy up, check under the cut, and prepare for a long read. enjoy!
today's ama featured wan hazmer and daim dziauddin again, as well as concept artist ellie and animator ben fong.
BUNK BED JUNCTION (FT. DK WEST)
- mayday and zuke live in the sewers because they're an underground band. it's a pun - there were originally two variations of bbj leaving the sewers - one with mayday hi-fiving gigi (which had a 95% chance of happening), and one with zuke awkwardly fumbling and attempting to hi-five gigi (which had a 5% chance) - one of the inspirations for mayday and zuke were the two main characters of samurai champloo (zuke was jin, mayday was mugen) - someone asked about if the rest of the cast had their own shadow puppets. ben suggested a lemur for mayday, while ellie suggested a zucchini for zuke. she may have been joking. - mayday's guitar solos were done by different people, but zuke's drum solos were all done by bruno valverde. - zuke was the one who implemented the canister thing into mayday's guitar. - haz recalls seeing some fanart of mayday being brought up as a rich girl. he doesn't remember the artist, but he does like the idea. - the japanese version has zuke say he has a phd rather than a master's degree. this is apparently a mistake. - the pattern on zuke's pants was inspired by jolyne cujoh and prosciutto from jojo's bizarre adventure. - zuke's toilet seat collection came partially from a story from one of the environmental artists where one of their high school friends pranked another friend with a toilet seat. - zuke does a lot of reading and is naturally inquisitive about things like tech and mechanics. - dk west's shadow puppet abilities might run in the family, and zuke may have it as well. - both zuke and dk west are connected by percussion (zuke with the drums, west with the hand claps) - zuke and west weren't always designed to be related -- west was originally designed as "some guy who comes and goes," but was made into zuke's brother later on in production - dk west is an extrovert.
DJ SUBATOMIC SUPERNOVA
- djss' dj name is obviously a stage name, but the team didn't have a real name for him in the script or anything. - haz joked that his name is bob salad. that's not canon but from what i seen the chat loved it lol - haz brings up the symbolism of djss spinning the planets around himself and how it represents that he thinks of himself as the center of the universe. - ellie helped design the districts, and something she noted about dj's is that it's supposed to look the "slummiest" because he cares more about himself and less about things like blackouts. - dj was never planned to have an approach segment, but funk fiction wasn't told that, so he made him an approach theme anyway. - dodo ice pops are traffic light flavoured, which is a popular ice cream in malaysia. it's strawberry, pineapple, and lime flavored.
SAYU AND THE NERD SQUAD
- three of sayu's creators were based on staff members at metronomik. remi (voiced by ben) was based on one of the programmers and one of the environmental artists (ellie calls him "the lovechild of two dudes"), tila was based on (and voiced by) ellie herself, and dodo was based on danish mak (another environmental artist who also voices him). - sofa wasn't based on anyone in particular, he was more of a "general otaku guy" according to ellie (though haz joked that ellie could just say he was based on him). - dodo is daim's favorite npc -- he also designed him! - sayu was ellie's favorite character to design. she loves drawing mermaids. - the progression in sayu's fight where you go deeper into the "ocean" is supposed to be a metaphor for going deeper into the internet/the deep web. - ellie suggested that if sayu were to have a shadow puppet, it would be a cat. - as for the introvert/extrovert debate, daim says sayu is technically comprised of 4 introverts. sayu herself is the extrovert mask they wear. - sayu's ahoge is a submarine periscope. remi looks through it in one of the cutscenes. - sayu's not a mech. she's remotely controlled by her creators from their computer room. - the backstory between remi and tila is meant to show that artists can come from all sorts of backgrounds.
YINU AND MAMA
- yinu's promotional video was one of the first ones done before they brought in lzbros, so it originally looked different from how it looks in the game now. - yinu's mother's eyes are yellow because she spends most of the fight focusing on yinu (who is mainly yellow). when her eyes go blank white, it represents that she's momentarily forgotten what she loves the most. when her eyes become yellow again after the fight, it means she's remembered yinu and her piano playing. - the way ellie describes natura is that yinu is a plant and her mother is very protective of her, and one of the distinctive features is that there are a lot of domes with plants inside, particularly on the roofs of the houses. - yinu's commercial was not intended to reference little miss fortune. the commercial was shown in 2018, while LMF came out a year later. - yinu's mom turning into a giant tree monster isn't exclusive to her just being angry at bbj. apparently the whole plant thing runs in the yinu family.
1010
- 1010's concept as a boy band had been around since before the team started production, but they were the last to be fully designed -- their designs weren't finalized until way later on. - 1010 were ellieâs least favorite characters to design. she doesn't like drawing guys OR robots. - 1010's early designs had them wearing tuxedos. - 1010 do have memories. - the inspiration for the butt plates came from one of ben's gundam figures from his collection in the metronomik office. thanks ben. - ellie's favorite member of 1010 is purl-hew/blue. - eloni/green is apparently the rapper of the group. - the jingle you hear from the carousel in metro division is a carnival remix of 1010's boss theme. - the numbers underneath 1010's names on the autographs are completely random.
NEON J
- neon j is a dancer. daim explains that in addition to being in the navy, dance has always been his true passion. - in the final phase of 1010's fight, he was originally supposed to control the dance moves of the factory as he was fighting you, but it was cut due to limited resources. - daim designed neon j based on ellie's designs for 1010. - neon j's factory's dance moves were all animated by ben -- no mocap needed. the factory was also his favorite thing to animate. - daim says that "neon j is to tatiana as soundwave is to megatron." basically he is extremely loyal to tatiana. - neon j was one of earliest members of nsr. - neon j seeing 1010 as his sons wasn't planned, but daim loves the concept so much that he could see it being canon. - daim says neon j's brain is "probably" still inside the monitor head. somehow. - neon j is an extrovert. - haz likes the idea of neon j being blind and using his sonar to "see" things. ben joked that the screen worked like giant glasses. - neon j originally had red dots that would pop up on his face when the sonar moved by that were meant to represent acne, and that would've been the reason why he's mostly behind the scenes.
EVE
- in mayday's side of the room when eve splits up bbj, the hands all over the walls are meant to be there to show how eve is angrier at mayday than she is at zuke. - the time signature for the music in mayday's room during the fight is 6/8, whereas in zuke's room it's 4/4. - ellie suggested a platypus shadow puppet for eve. the rest of the team seems to be on board. - eve was ben's least favorite character to animate. he said he struggled with animating her dance moves because it was something he'd never done before, and he still doesn't think he did a good enough job. - eve was born with her split skin tone. - apparently eve's near scrapping had something to do with costs. haz was the one who stopped it from happening. - eve's outfit was partly inspired by beyonce, while her jacket was partly inspired by ariana grande. the team took some inspiration from bjork, as well. - the sleeves on eve's jacket were apparently limbs at one point. - eve is an introvert.
NPCS/OTHER CHARACTERS
- part of tatiana's symbolism is how she used to be a rock star, but her flame/passion slowly burned away, and now she's just a rock, referencing how she was literally on fire as the rock star kul fyra, but now looks burnt out. - daim thinks kliff is older than tatiana, probably over 50. - in addition to the neon j dance lore mentioned above, kayane rambling about neon j after the 1010 fight was supposed to be connected to her watching neon j dance. - ben and haz's favorite npc is mia, and ellie's is dj zam. - dj zam was inspired by one of ellie's college friends, who she says "makes you feel comfortable to be around". - ellie thinks dj zam's neck tattoo says "i love mom". - amal the unicorn was inspired by lady amalthea from the 80's animated film "the last unicorn". he was originally written to be a real talking unicorn, but it was changed partially because his horn wasn't in the right spot on his head. - zed was based on game designer dzaid and has hyperacusis, a hearing disorder that makes it difficult to deal with everyday sounds. - yiruk's name is an anagram of kiryu, the protagonist of the yakuza games. - chef sunshine's design is a homage to julia child. she originally had a bigger physique, but was changed to match lylia's bubbly performance.

Today I went to an antiques store and I managed to find an old report book from someone born in 1964. The person sort of stumbled through her Primary school days doing only sort of well (the teacherâs comments on her school performance consisted of a lot of âcould do betterâs, and she got a lot of Bs and Cs). But she did represent her school in a badminton competition, and she also made it to her first choice of secondary school. Which, you know, good for her.
I wish I asked the guy at the shop how he got the book. And tbh, I wonder how sheâs doing now. Sheâs got to be an elderly woman at this point (and actually, yeah, it is a little mindblowing thinking about how she was born only a year before we split from Malaysia). Included in the booklet were some old bus tickets too. And I realise that it was also my first time seeing how bus tickets used to look like in the 70s.
And overall, I think itâs was neat stumbling across that. But itâs also crazy thinking about just how much time must have passed for her, how many years of her life she must have lived, and how all those grades which I used to fret and worry and cry over in my primary school days... may someday be only relevant to someone reading over my report book in an antiques store.

hey dude, ive seen it a couple times on my dash from you but not much other place else, could i ask what really is the Lego Monkie Kid show? It looks really interesting, the character designs look beautiful along with everything else ive seen and I want to experience it as respectfully as possible. Sorry to bother you about it, but I just want to start with at least a general sort of? Guideline of where I should go in order of content or if its just a series where to even watch it cause I honestly never have heard of it up until now, and how someone should go about it? Again, sorry to bother you, my bad if I said something wrong. Thanks for your time.
AAAALL RIGHTY-
lego monkie kid is one of legoâs newer IPs!!! itâs heavily based on the novel Journey to The West, one of chinaâs four great classical novels so i recommend you read it if you wanna have a deeper understanding of some of the content in LMK (i recommend the anthony c. yu translation)
itâs a sorta ânext-genâ thing where a guy named qi xiaotian/mk in the english dub becomes the successor of the monkey king, sun wukong by managing to lift his golden staff which has been sealing the bull demon king under a mountain for centuries
the supporting cast are all based off of the disciples and tang sanzang, and all the villains are the demons from the book!!!!
we only have the english dub for season 1 out, however if you join @theyarentelvesââs LMK discord weâre streaming tomorrow when the eng dub eps come out in malaysia!!!
as for experiencing it respectfully, the best way i could tell you how to do so is to avoid westernizing the characters and stay far far far away from racist tropes, as although itâs not explicit the lego-made characters are heavily implied to be chinese or live in china. JTTW is also a culturally important story to easian culture in general, so read it and try to have a better understanding of the tale. lastly, keep in mind that since some of the figures in JTTW are still worshipped today as gods of various beliefs, try to stay respectful of that and do your research!!!
did i mention we have steve blum, sean schemmel, billy kametz and jack desena in the voice cast (wolverine, goku, josuke higashikata and sokka respectively)
also the animation popped off (the studio behind glitch techs and ROTTMNT did this show, its every diehard ninjago fanâs wild dream of what a lego series would look like)
if you want somewhere to start hereâs the google drive containing the canto and eng dub of s1, and hereâs the unofficial subbed version of s2 in chinese audio
also, my addition to a post on how to make LMK content while staying culturally sensitive
at the end of the day, please remember that this is a childrenâs show based off of a very culturally rich story so i really canât give you a âright wayâ to make content of it!!! iâm not representative of every easian person, but i trust that youâll be able to know whatâs wrong and whatâs right!!!
#natto answers#ask#abc#tagging it as that because fuck yeah reconnecting to my culture!!!!!!#lmk#lego monkie kid#monkie kid#resources#also hi quinn dont mind me tagging u#anon#natto blabbos#long post
