Part of Sal and Vance's story is a reference to that very thing you brought up! How black holes devour stars in nature. 🌌

Even though, again, technically, Vance isn't a black hole or anything, in many ways, he does feel like "the void" as a character. Like a black hole personified. The struggle Sal faces in trying to confront him over and over again also speaks for how star-like she is, being thrown at the black hole-like entity that is Vance.

(Sal will be fine... remember, Ethereals "die." There's a chance they can come back!)

Also, I'm not sure you saw it, but I even memed about this in this other post! I was discussing wanting to scribble this very bit of art and how the meme is a little spoiler-y to an aspect of it - the meme also touches on that concept too, though.~ Light vs. stars, but stars are, as many of us know, a major light source... hahaha!
