Things that happened at Christmas Eve on Ballerina/Leap!

What we know for sure of course.

• Félicie tries to apologize with Victor, she’s rejected by him.

• Félicie and Camille have their dance off.

• Félicie achieves to do the Grand Jeté.

• Félicie is chosen for the role of Clara.

• Félicie and Victor finally reconcile with each other.

• Régine tries to murder Félicie on Eiffel’s workshop and then on the top of the Statue of Liberty.

• Victor tries for the first time his pigeons wings and saves Félicie.

• Régine falls off from the Statue.

• The Nutcracker is released on the Opera Garnier with Mérante’s coreography.

• Félicie has her debut as dancer.

• Mérante and Odette reconcile with each other.

A happy ending on a very special day for our beloved characters.

Sooo...there was a fire on stage huh?

How many times this has been discussed? This sentence is the only thing we got to know about what happened with Odette, and for many is so frustrating to not have more. But at the same time, this plot hole give us the fans the chance to explore theories and being creative, as it happened when C.S. Lewis promoted fanfiction over Susan’s fate after “The Last Battle.”

So, let me be a little imaginative...

The most logical would be that Odette was performing when the fire happened. But... We all know the story of “The Steanfast Tin Soldier” from Hans Christian Andersen no? In which, after the soldier’s returns, the black bogey in the snuffbox throws him into the fireplace and then, the paper ballerina decides to join him in his melting.

What if the one dancing at the stage was Mérante? Just imagine that in middle of the scene, Odette, backstages sees the start of the fire. She gets nervous and warns all around her of it.

But Mérante doesn’t listens. He’s so into his dancing. Odette yells to him, the flames start growing fast. Odette calls him by his name. A wood plank from the top of the stage is caught in flames and starts to fall. In this moment Mérante realizes of what is happening, but it seems too late for doing something. He stares at his end in a state of shock. 

Odette runs into the stage and pushs him away from danger, with the misfortune of being her the one to receive the impact on her left ankle. 

She was able to escape, but she was severally injuried and her career ruined for life. 

Since then, Mérante lives with the weigh of guilty that tortures him within. That’s why he can barely reach Odette, he can’t ask her for marriage, he’s not worthy of her love. He ruined her...

That’s why he desperately tries to help her in anything.

Sorry for being so dramatic, I just love it.

THIS IS MÉRANDETTE AFTER THE FIRE Y'ALL!!

cliché but classic trope: when the person who almost died wakes up in a hospital bed, looks around and sees the object of their affection sleeping uncomfortably in the chair next to them because they haven’t moved in days.

The attic room was unusually life filled. Felicie had Victor, Nora, and Camille over and Luis had been staying for dinner more and more often. Felecie watched the back and forth motions of her mother and teacher. She was suposed to be doing her training exercises, but the oblivious couple was just to much of a distraction. Odette was working on dinner while Luis worked on a new dance to teach his students. Any time he had a chance, the ballet teacher would help his love with something in the dinner.

“When are they finally gonna get married?” Victor groaned as Luis put his work to the side once more.

“Victor!” Camille hissed quietly, “You can't just say that! He’s our teacher! We could get in big trouble for gossiping about him!”

“No, I agree,” Nora shook her head and balanced on her points, “This game of theirs is cute but I wanna be around to see the end. At this rate, we’ll all die of old age before it happens!”

“Nora!” Camille hissed.

“Camille, it’s fine,” Felicie put her hand on her friend’s shoulder, “As long as we work while we talk and don't say anything too bad, they're ok with us talking. And honestly, I'd like to see them married, too.”

“Wouldn't that mean you and Ms. Odette would have to move in with Mr. Merante?” Camille whispered, still terrified of getting into trouble.

Luis looked over his shoulder at the four children that were nowhere near as sneaky as they thought.

“What do you think, Odette?”

“About what?” Odette didn't look up from the cheese she was working with.

“Us getting married. You and Felicie moving into my home with me.”

Odette froze. Her eyes were trained on her shaking hands. She glanced over at the children and watched the girls dance circles around Victor, who fell on his face the second he tried to go on his toes. The boy was clearly not built for this kind of dancing. She looked around her dingy room and at the windows that provided them light. She looked out over Paris and at the Eiffel Tower. Would it allow for more moments like this? The children laughing and playing while doing what they love? Her and Luis working together on dances and cooking? How would Felicie feel about moving away from this and the view she loved so much? Sure, the girl love Luis almost as much as she did and sure, she had been asking if he was going to be her new Papa but...

“F*ck it,” she whispered.

She turned and kissed him swiftly, “Let's get married.”

Part 1

Paris, 1885

It was a cold evening while Odette was (as always) sweeping the stage. Mérante decided to go to her usual place to watch her. He was admiring her beauty, grace and talent. Odette wasn't feeling really well, when suddenly fell on the floor

Lovis ran to her and realized that she's unconcious. He quickly picked up her body and figured out how thin she got. Mérante got up and leaded to the attic.

He laid her on the mattres on cleaner part of room (he was guessing that it's her part of room). Louis could sit there for hours, stroking her beautiful, dark har tied in a neat bun (which he untied before).

Odette was slowly waking up. She was suprised to see Merante's face. He was trying to calm her down.

-Odie, calm down, it's me- said man patiently

- Louis? What are you doing there?

-You don't remember anything, right?

-No, I don't. What happened?

-Well I saw you lying on the stage and I brought you up there

-Thank you- she was really moved that he's taking care of her

-You're welcome. Are you alright? - said Louis raising his hand to check her temperature

-Yeah, I'm fine.

-I don't believe you. He was really worried - You're burning up. Oh and as long as I remember I have a question for you.

-Yes? - she was very curious what is it.

-Do you hand over your meals to Félicie?

She was staying silent. She wasn't able to admit.

- I'll take your silence us yes.

- You know that she needs a lot of energy for trainings- she was trying to justify herself

- But it's still not good for you know that right? You're doing need a lot of strength with your condition, you a lot of work so you also
