This is, unfortunately, my last entry for Juleap. I was expecting to do a couple of entries more, but, as we say in México: "No me da la vida." Which practically can be translated to "My life isn't long enough to do stuff."
This fanart was intended for July 23, which is Mérante's birth anniversary, since he was born on that same date on 1828 (Yes, he was a real figure!). I took as a reference a portrait that's shared on his biography on the Official page of the Opera Garnier.
Huh, a bit of French culture in the context of the Paris Olympics Games...
Made with watercolor paint over Sketch paper and finished at July 31 of 2024.
Time of making: 158 min. Approx.
Points per character: 79 points.

So well, I've been like, very busy these past two weeks, and I lost motivation to create during that time, but I'm back with a little video I wanted to do for a while. (Also, I obviously had to recreate a long dead trend, as it is my costume but I don't care. 😜)
Meet the Ballerina/Leap! Characters! I had so much fun making this meme! 😊 I hope to be back with more content!
Made with CapCut at July 25 of 2024.
Time of making: 63 minutes, let's round it up to 60.
Points per character: 30 points.

My second entry for the Juleap event on Tumblr! I kinda got inspired to keep doing watercolor paintings, this time with Camille. I wanted hers to be very contrasting with Félicie's. The redheaded girl's was full of life, nature, color. In this one, I decided to use lighter and cold tones, and the only background in here is a white courtain from which the lights filters into the room. Of course, given to the lack of objects, it took me less time to paint. And it's not like I love to draw her suffering, on the contrary, this hurt me to draw, but I wanted to explore that melancholic, troubled and lost nature she has beneath her easygoing appearance.
Made with watercolor paint over Sketch paper and finished at July 15 of 2024.
Time of making: 120 minutes approx.
Points per character: 60 points

This is so, so beautiful! 😍
Yummy!
Another one...😐! (Sorry, I'm just flooding with Leap! contents)
Odette made a delicious soup for Félicie. Little Miss Milliner liked it so much that she slurped it straight from the bowl, setting aside her spoon!
Time taken: 148 minutes

Haha, this was a funny addition to Juleap! 😂 I love the Tintin reference! 😊
An Epoch-making Discovery!
Another one! I'm having so much fun doing this! 😁
Time Taken: Drawing - 134 minutes (originally 108, but then I discovered something was wrong with Félicie's face...😐.... still there's something wrong...)
Writing: 15 minutes
Total: 149~=150 minutes!
Little story for context under the cut!
"So, how does it work?"
"Yeah, as you can see, the parallel rays of light reflecting from farther objects are focused by the bigger lens, the objective lens, and the eyepiece... I mean, the smaller lens is collimating them back into parallel rays, and we're perceiving objects as if they are actually very close to us! The distance between the two lenses is the sum of their focal lengths." Victor described to Félicie like a real scientist while setting up his newly made telescope on a tripod, which he also made.
"Uh... huh," Félicie had been trying hard to understand.
"Now! It's time for testing. My favorite part!"
Félicie could feel the excitement flourishing from Victor's voice.
"Oh, it's working just fine! Look at the Deneb star, it's in the Cygnus constellation. Félicie, do you know this constellation shapes like a swan? You can see the Northern Cross with the naked eye, but it's more prominent and clear when you see it through the telescope!" Victor said excitedly.
"Yeah..." Félicie tried to encourage the little engineer.
"And this is Lyra! This constellation is the home of the star Vega, which is the fifth brightest star in the sky!" Victor continued explaining the constellations he was identifying with his new discovery.
"Uh... Victor...?" Félicie wanted to tell him something.
"Ooh... ooh... and this is Aquila... wait... what is that? Oh my gosh! What is this thing?" Victor suddenly stopped describing the constellations as he discovered something peculiar in his view.
"Victor, I think there's a..." Félicie wanted to interrupt.
"Wait, I think I just discovered something new! What is it? Is it a new asteroid? It's not supposed to be here right now! Oh... oh... it's moving! Félicie, I think I'm going to be famous. History is in the making! Do you have paper and pencils nearby? Go, write down this epoch-making moment! It's most probably a new planet! And it looks like a spider! Astonishing!" Victor said in a single breath.
"Victor, I've been trying to tell you that there's an actual spider on your objective lens!" Finally, Félicie managed to speak out.
"Oh!" A disappointed muttering could only escape from Victor's mouth after a minute of silence.
(Inspired from "The Shooting Star — The adventure of Tintin")

Awww, this one is so cute! And I like the drawing too! 😊 Yet another entry for our Juleap! 😃 And yes, the characters receives the same points each! 😉
Once in a Pink Sky!
Here's my entry for juleap! OMG, I'm so excited as this is the very first time I'm participating in such events! 🤩
Also, this drawing is accompanying a little leap fanfiction under the cut.
Time taken: Drawing - 116 minutes
Writing - About 40 minutes
Total 156 minutes, I'm rounding it off to 160 minutes since I'm not exactly sure about the writing time. Now, how the points will be calculated? @livehorses Will both Félicie and Victor get 80 points? Help me out here!
Story:
"Félicie! Close your eyes, I have a surprise gift for you!" Victor excitedly said as he was trying to hide something big behind him.
Félicie peeked through his shoulder and anticipated what could the surprise gift be!
"I can't close my eyes right now, Victor. What is it?" She asked to be confirmed.
"I've made chicken wings for you too!" Victor said chuckling.
"But I am not hungry!" Félicie made a joke.
"No, I mean..."
"I know what you mean, Victor, I was just kidding!"
Félicie couldn't help suppressing a gasp as Victor reveal the wings in the front.
"Holy... it's ridiculously pink!"
"You don't like pink? I thought it was your favorite color!" Victor asked, confused.
"No, when did I say that?" Félicie expressed her frustration.
"Ah, crap! Anyway, pink is not that bad. Look at the sky, it has a nice shade of pink!" Victor said romantically. "When would you like to try 'em?" He asked.
"When I finally lose all interests for life!" Félicie replied sarcastically.
"Crap! Come on, darling! You gotta try 'em. It will feel like you're an angel being descended from the heaven; you know, because of this beautiful pink color which is blushing out currently from the sky!" Victor again romanticized inside his imagination.
"I WILL go to heaven if this thing crashes! And please stop saying 'crap', it's annoying." Félicie's tone became disgusted.
"Don't worry! I've already tested it, it's in absolutely perfect condition. And even if you start falling, I will be there to catch you! I'll be your mentor, your assistant, your soulmate..."
"Crap!" Félicie sighed.
*************************
"So, first you have to pull this liver..."
"Ooooooo-hooooooo, Victor, you were right. It actually feels so good!" Victor heard an excited scream before he could finish the sentence. To his surprise, Félicie started flying just after observing how he was controlling the wings once!
"Crap! Odette was right, she really IS a fast learner!" He thought.
"Victor! Victor!! Help me! I'm falling! I lost control!"
Victor suddenly became aware as Félicie screamed his name with panic in her voice.
He rushed through the atmosphere as soon as he could and grabbed Félicie's hand.
"Victor, don't let go!" Félicie screamed, scared.
"I won't, we're soulmates, remember?" Victor shouted as he tried to assure the ruby haired girl.
"Not now, CRAP!"
*******************
"So, it was fun, wasn't it?" Victor asked as he finally managed to get both of them down safely on earth.
"Yeah, very fun!" Félicie replied in cold tone. She was still struggling for air.
"Let's do it again, then!" Victor proposed.
Félicie glared, at the smiling little engineer!
***************
The End.

This is my very first entry for the event, and, I hope it won't be the only one I make.
I like those photos of girls wearing flower crowns, they look cute, and I thought Félicie would look like it as well. 😊 I thought that watercolors would work for this art piece, although this technique isn't one of my strengths. But, as Félicie herself knows, you can't learn anything unless you try, even if that means to make some mistakes along the process. 😉
Made with watercolors over Sketch paper and finished at July 10 of 2024.
Time of making: 415 minutes approx. (I forgot sometime in the making to time myself, so I had to guess what time I didn't count 🙈)
Number of points per character: 27.5

Behold everyone! It's actually my dream scene!
(Not exactly like that, Félicie wasn't dressed up like this; she was, to be honest, in the movie outfit and Odette wasn't present at all. And I'm not sure if it was her birthday!)
As far as I can remember, Louis gave her a beautiful doll as some sort of present and it made her utterly ecstatic. She started singing a very melodical song in response to his kind gesture. I can't recall the exact words, but I wrote down the main idea on my diary! Félicie was so happy that I could feel her emotions at that time; I woke up with the relish of it in my mind in the morning 😃.
Félicie is actually sitting on a tool, not on the vacuum. And of course, Louis is not wearing a one piece! I'm not a pro artist, I hope everyone will forgive the artistic errors here!

And, the Juleap event starts now! Happy creations! 😃🎉 Don't forget to tag your works as "b/l!fandomfriendly" 😉
Juleap is here!
I'm hosting this fandom event this year, so make sure to prepare yourself for it! 😊
What is it "Juleap" all about?
Started by the user @greatmarta , is a fandom event similar to the Coco fandom friendly, in which people can make as many content as they want of any of the characters that appear in the movie. The more content a certain character gains, the more possibilities are there for this one to win by the end of the month.
Following this example, we have our own fandom friendly for the movie Leap or Ballerina, hosted on July.
These are the rules you have to follow, as originally redacted by the creator of the event:
Time yourself as you draw/write. Divide the number of minutes by 2. Each character featured in your work is awarded that number of points. At the end of the month, the character with the highest number of points wins.
Please tag your works as "#b/l!fandomfriendly".
Another rules to take into consideration:
1) Not NSFW entries of any kind.
2) Entries using other people’s art or writing (such as a fanvid that uses other people’s artwork)
3) Entries involving any ships that feature incest or adult/child ships (I don’t think I need to elaborate here)
Canon characters (your work must feature at least one of those):
- Félicie Lebras/Milliner
- Victor Hubert
- Madame Odette
- Monsieur Louis Mérante
- Rosita Mauri
- Camille Le Haut
- Régine Le Haut
- Rudolph Rankovsky
- Nora
- Dora
- Mathurin
- Mother Superior
- Monsieur Luteau
- Auguste Emmanuel Vacourbeil
- The Opera Janitor

I reblog this post so you can have an idea how things will be done in the Juleap event. We'll be following the same rules, explained above. ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
Hello everyone! So some folks over in the Marigold Bridge server have been asking about doing another event, since the Secret Santa we did last December went pretty well. And since Coco Day, February 27th, is coming up, doing an event soon seemed like a good idea. But… things like Secret Santas and other such exchanges take a lot of time and planning! So… I thought we could do something else–a different type of event, and one I’ve run before for other fandoms.
A Fandom Friendly!
What’s a “Friendly?”
A friendly, according to the Wikitionary, is “a game which is of no consequence in terms of ranking, betting etc.” In this case, it’s a competition with no winners or losers–this is purely for fun!
What is the Coco Fandom Friendly?
The Coco Fandom Friendly is a relaxed, week-long, fandom-wide competition (so you do not need to be a member of the server in order to participate) that fandom members of all ages and levels of skill can participate in. It also does not require any type of stressful commitment–either you participate or you don’t! Essentially you will create a fanwork (or fanworks) of any kind about your favorite character(s), and the characters that get the most love win!
Wait, so the CHARACTERS win? Not one of the participants?
That’s right! The participants do not win or lose! In this competition, you are not fighting against anyone else. Instead, you are trying to help your favorite characters win by creating fanworks of them!
Is there a prize of any kind?
Not really–just the excitement of participating in a fandom event, and knowing that you helped your favorite characters in a competition.
What kind of fanworks are allowed?
Anything! They can be art, writing, music, animation, photography, fan videos, etc. Entries can also be gen (no shipping), or feature nearly any ship (with some exceptions–see below). AUs and fancharacters are perfectly fine as well! Just make sure it relates to Coco, of course.
Is there anything that’s not allowed?
Yes. There are a few things that are UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES allowed:
1) Not SFW entries of any kind (this is an all-ages competition, so please keep it tasteful!) 2) Entries using other people’s art or writing (such as a fanvid that uses other people’s artwork) 3) Entries involving any ships that feature incest or adult/child ships (I don’t think I need to elaborate here)
Can I submit things I’ve created in the past?
Nope! Your entries must be completed during the week of the competition, which will be February 21st through February 27th.
But what if I’m not good at art/writing/anything??
It doesn’t matter how good or bad you are! The only thing that matters in this competition is how much time you put into what you make! That’s why you will earn points based on how much time you spend on your entries.
When you work on your entry (or entries–you can make as many as you want!), you need to time yourself (using a stopwatch app, an actual stopwatch, or just looking at a clock to see when you started and when you finished), and then when you post the entry, you will say how many minutes you spent on the piece, and what characters are in it. Each minute you spend on the piece is worth half a point.
For example, say you spend an hour working on a fanfic about Héctor and Imelda. That’s 60 minutes, and with each minute being worth half a point, that’s thirty points for each character (so 30 points for Héctor and 30 points for Imelda–it’s not split!).
Is there a limit to how many points we can earn?
Yes–you can only earn up to 100 points per character (which would mean spending like… not quite 3.3 hours on something). So don’t feel the need to only earn points for one character–you can earn points for as many characters as you want! Share the love!
How do I submit an entry?
Any time between February 21st and February 27th (so, starting at midnight, EST, on the 21st, and ending on 11:59 PM, EST, on the 27th) you can post your entry with the following formatting:
Coco Fandom Friendly Entry [Title] Characters: ____ Minutes
As well, YOU MUST TAG THE POST WITH #COCOFANDOMFRIENDLY ! This is extremely important!! If you don’t, I might not see your entry!!
What characters are we earning points for?
The characters are split into three categories, and there will be a winner for each. These categories are…
Primary Miguel Héctor Imelda Ernesto
Secondary Elena Coco Óscar & Felipe Julio Rosita Victoria Chicharrón Pepita Dante
Minor Enrique Luisa Socorro Manny & Benny Rosa Abel Carmen Berto Gloria Franco Gustavo Frida Ceci Emcee Misc. Alebrije (includes fancharacters) Misc. Character (includes fancharacters)
In order to earn points for the characters, they must be involved in the piece, and you must list them by name in the entry format. In order for them to be involved in the piece… it depends on what kind of piece you’re doing–for art, the character just has to be in the picture. For something like writing or fanvid, however, a brief mention or glimpse of a character doesn’t count–the piece has to focus on those characters.
So… I think that covers everything! Remember, don’t start working on your entries until February 21st at midnight EST!
If anything about these rules seems unclear or if you have any other questions, feel free to send an ask to this blog, and I’ll help you as best as I can.
