Aca Top 10: Disney Sidekicks — VoicePlay music video
youtube
Triumph often requires teamwork. Disney heroes take big risks and achieve great things, but they wouldn't get very far without their trusty sidekicks. Whether they're providing a pep talk, sage advice, or a simple moment of comic relief, those supporting characters are among the most cherished by fans. So grab a buddy and enjoy this medley of feel-good songs.
Details:
title: Aca Top 10 – Disney Sidekicks
original songs / performers: [0:20] "When You Wish Upon a Star" by Cliff Edwards as Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio (1940); [0:34] "Be Our Guest" by Jerry Orbach as Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast (1991); [0:52] "Heigh-Ho" by the cast of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (1937); [1:02] "Hakuna Matata" by Nathan Lane as Timon, Ernie Sabella as Pumba, & Jason Weaver as Simba in The Lion King (1994); [1:14] "Bare Necessities" by Phil Harris as Baloo & Bruce Reitherman as Mowgli in The Jungle Book (1967); [1:33] "Under the Sea" by Samuel Wright as Sebastian in The Little Mermaid (1989); [1:52] "In Summer" by Josh Gad as Olaf in Frozen (2013); [2:22] "Chim Chim Cher-ee" by Dick Van Dyke as Burt in Mary Poppins (1964); [2:41] "You're Welcome" by Dwayne Johnson as Maui in Moana (2016); [3:01] "Friend Like Me" by Robin Williams as the Genie in Aladdin (1992)
written by: "When You Wish Upon a Star" by Leigh Harline & Ned Washington; "Be Our Guest" by Howard Ashman & Alan Menken; "Heigh-Ho" by Frank Churchill & Larry Morey; "Hakuna Matata" by Elton John & Tim Rice; "Bare Necessities" by Terry Gilkyson; "Under the Sea" by Alan Menken & Howard Ashman; "In Summer" by Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez; "Chim Chim Cher-ee" by Robert B. Sherman & Richard M. Sherman; "You're Welcome" by Lin-Manuel Miranda; "Friend Like Me" by Howard Ashman & Alan Menken
arranged by: Geoff Castellucci, Eli Jacobson, & Layne Stein
release date: 10 August 2018
My favorite bits:
Geoff's intro narration, and the other guys' reactions
the rising harmonies on ♫ "they will come to" ♫
giving "Heigh-Ho" a little "Hip Hop Hooray" flavor
J.None taking over the bass line while Geoff sings lead for "Bare Necessities"
Eli and Earl singing ♫ "settle down now" ♫ instead of "rest at ease" with two different connotations — Eli: "Take a nice break." Earl: "Calm down, dude."
J's saucy little ♫ "Uh oh!" ♫ in "Under the Sea"
that pitch perfect Olaf impression from Eli ☃️
🥕 ♫ "a-buh-buh-buh Mountain Dew" ♫ 🥕
Layne's michievous expression after Geoff swipes his carrot
the back row swaying in time to "Chim Chim Cher-ee"
Earl's affronted expression when J starts singing Maui's part
those horn hits from Eli and Earl 🎺
Layne retaliating for the carrot theft by recreating the Genie's raspberry toward Geoff

Trivia:
○ VoicePlay had previously recorded several of the songs included in this medley, mostly on their Disney-centric album, "Once Upon an Ever After".
"When You Wish Upon a Star" is the second-to-last track on "OUaEA", and moseys through several fun rhythmic variations.
"Be Our Guest" is the opening segment of their Beauty and the Beast medley, Tale As Old As Time. They also made a short video for it, which was one of the earliest on their YouTube channel.
"Hakuna Matata" is part of The King Has Returned, a Lion King medley.
"Friend Like Me" is the closing portion of their Aladdin medley, Diamond in the Rough. It's also the first non-promotional video on the VoicePlay YouTube channel after their name change.
"You're Welcome" was included in their "Moana medley" with Rachel Potter the year before.
○ Since this video was released, the guys have recorded newer versions of a few more songs.
An excerpt of "Under the Sea" was included in their "Little Mermaid medley" with Rachel Potter.
They got back to their roots for a barbershop tag of "When You Wish Upon a Star" in the summer of 2023.
Geoff made a multi-tracked version of "Bare Necessities" as the first music video on his personal channels in 2020.
○ The YouTube description asserts that "No carrots were harmed in the making of this video. Except that one. That one was hurt over and over and over and over…" 😆
○ The guys are once again all wearing thematically appropriate shirts.
Eli — Timon the meerkat from The Lion King with his hands on his hips, in front of a white striped circle with a teal border and "nope" in teal letters beneath
Earl — silhouette of Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy composed of the words "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all" in blue text with his crest in red
J.None — tall white letters reading "lit" with a gold outline of Lumiere the candelabra from Beauty and the Beast striking a dramatic pose
Geoff — Olaf the snowman from Frozen floating in a lake with "chillin'" in white letters beneath
Layne — classic Mickey Mouse and Pluto posing together, with Mickey's arm around Pluto's shoulders
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
○ This is the second in a mini-series within their "Aca Top 10" series, which was preceded by "Disney Heroes" the previous autumn, and followed by "Disney Villains" the next spring.
○ Geoff, Earl, & J.None's selfie posing was caught on video & posted to Twitter.
○ The guys also took individual selfies with their pal Rek who was doing production work behind the scenes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
○ The inclusion of Olaf's song resulted in many carrot-based shenanigans during the filming. Little did they know it would be the beginning of a running joke that persists to this day, particularly when J comes back to town.

Movies of 2023 - My Pre-Summer Rundown (Part 1)
The Runners-Up:
20.  WE HAVE A GHOST – Christopher Landon, the writer-director of Freaky and the Happy Death Day movies, brings something a bit more family friendly to Netflix with this endearingly goofy spook-fest fantasy comedy about a down-on-their-luck family (led by father Anthony Mackie) who discover that their rundown new home is inhabited by the ghost of its former owner (Stranger Things’ David Harbour), only for their lives to become infinitely more complicated when their resulting YouTube adventures attract the attention of well-connected ghosthunter Tig Notaro.
19.  A MAN CALLED OTTO – Tom Hanks is intriguingly cast against type as a grouchy curmudgeon in this likeable comedy-drama adaptation of popular Swedish novel A Man Called Ove, in which Hanks’ titular grump tries to manage his “final transition” on his own term, only to find his efforts confounded at every turn by his bumbling new neighbours (Mentiras’ Mariana Trevino and The Magnificent Seven’s Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and their family), who ultimately give him a reason to go on living after all …
18.  KNOCK AT THE CABIN – M. Night Shyamalan continues his comeback tour from mediocrity with this deeply troubling psychological horror thriller adaptation of Paul Tremblay’s similarly dark and disturbing novel The Cabin At the End of the World.  Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge (Fleabag) and Kristen Cui are the gay couple and their small adopted daughter who are forced to make an impossible choice in order to save the world by a group of seemingly insane strangers that includes Dave Bautista and Rupert Grint.
17.  THE TANK – 2023 is already turning out to be a genuine BUMPER YEAR for really great and sometimes genuinely surprising horror cinema, and this recent chance discovery is a particular standout.  Writer-director Scott Walker (The Frozen Ground) has crafted a lean, mean and fantastically creepy little period horror (set in the year I was BORN!) about a small family who learn they’ve just inherited a potentially super-pricey property on the Portland coast, only to discover that there’s a very nasty catch indeed ...
16.  65 – ignore the naysayers and check this out!  It’s a CRACKER!!!  Seriously, this Adam Driver-starring sci-fi thriller from writer-directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (the guys who came up with the original idea for A Quiet Place) is a trim little suspense-filled actioner which has NO FAT ON IT, powered along by a FANTASTIC core concept – 65 million years ago, a space-farer from a distant civilisation crash landed here on earth and had to fight to escape from ravenous dinosaurs and an impending global cataclysm …
15.  TETRIS – Jon Baird, the director of Filth and Stan & Ollie, brings the fascinating untold “true” story of how daring entrepreneur game developer Henk Rogers (Kingsman’s Taron Egerton) braved Russian bureaucracy, the KGB and corporate double dealing to bring the titular video game out of the Soviet Union and into the West through the new creation from Nintendo, the Gameboy.  The end result is a fascinating and endearingly quirky little true-life biopic with a cute can-do attitude to match its inspiring story.
14.  SCREAM VI – last year’s fifth offering from Kevin Williamson’s (literal) killer horror franchise may have missed the mark a little bit, but the latest entry gets things RIGHT back on track with the best Scream movie in YEARS.  Melissa Barrera (In the Heights) and Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) are the survivor sisters who discover that the murderous Ghostface still isn’t done with them when they find themselves beset in a new murder spree on the streets of New York City …
13.  THE WHALE – while it’s not QUITE as good as the MASSIVE hype built it up to be, Darren Aronofsky’s adaptation of Samuel Hunter’s acclaimed play is still a compelling and powerful piece of work, driven by a genuinely SPECTACULAR cast – Hong Chau (Downsizing) entirely deserves her Supporting Oscar nom for this, but the film is entirely DOMINATED by a career best, Oscar-winning turn from Brendan Fraser as a terminally obese shut-in desperately trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter (Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink).
12.  BOSTON STRANGLER – the true story behind the controversial hunt for the notorious serial killer who stalked Boston in the early 1960s finally gets told in Crown Heights writer-director Matt Ruskin’s tight and tidy slowburn procedural thriller for Hulu.  Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon are both magnificent as the intrepid reporters for the Boston Record American newspaper who first uncovered how badly the Boston PD botched the investigation and the true extent of the monumental clusterfuck that ensued.
11.  THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CHILDREN – 2019’s Body At Brighton Rock is one of the most impressive unsung indie chillers I’ve ever come across, and director Roxanne Benjamin has definitely improved upon that impressive debut with this skin-crawling psychological supernatural horror for Blumhouse.  A genuine masterpiece of subtlety, it makes a proper virtue of exploiting the viewer’s imagination, the power of suggestion and the inherent creepiness of other people’s kids …

Can people in this fandom not make anything about Buck for 1 second? With madney proposal speculation there is already a whole episode of storyline speculations for Buck that’s connected to the proposal. Like I get he’s her brother, but this isn’t about him at all, how many times do we have to beg for a chimney focused story??
How do people speculate about how a proposal will go when we haven't even seen the first episode of the (half) season yet? I'll never understand that. I said the other day that I could see the lightning strike as something that gets Chimney thinking about proposing simply because of the "Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone" reminder from s3 and how that was what motivated him to confess his love. It's not about Buck (if it's Buck) getting hurt, but the realization that it could have been Chimney, and Chimney doesn't want to waste more time. Maybe he has a convo with someone (Bobby? Eddie again?) that inspires him to take the next step. (Some people like to start drama where it doesn't exist, so let me reiterate that a work-related injury can lead to a change of heart without it being "all about Buck". I'd say the same thing if the fandom was right about it being Eddie in the hospital. We're not the ones who decided it's time for Buck to allegedly get whumped. Take it up with Kristen.) Other ideas: Someone needs medical attention when trying to propose (performance anxiety?) and whatever they say/their partner says gets the wheels spinning. (Unlikely, but I'd want it just to watch people's heads explode since I'm like the one person who understands the Buckley parents because I've lived that life, lol) Something happens while M&P are visiting and Chim decides it's time to set a plan in motion.
TBH, you'd think a proposal could have been in the works in 6A with Hen nearly losing her wife (another scenario where realizing how close someone came to dying makes the light bulb go off) and the wedding could be in the finale, but Kristen decided it was better to drag everything out. *sigh* [My one gripe with the Madney proposal is that they, too, could have been written better in 6A. No couples therapy, even for an episode. They didn't interact in episode 2? Or episode 4? Jennifer didn't need to be in episode 6? Episode seven was about Felisa and sperm donations??? I like Madney, but I continue saying 'wtf' @ the way their screen time is handled. Literally NO hints that 6B was going to bring us anything for them beyond living in their new house, so what the hell is Kristen's definition of a "build up"? Because it definitely doesn't match mine!]

Kristen Stewart to make TV debut playing lesbian astronaut
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/kristen-stewart-to-make-tv-debut-playing-lesbian-astronaut/
Kristen Stewart to make TV debut playing lesbian astronaut
Kristen Stewart is set to make her TV debut in a new limited series in which she’ll play trailblazing lesbian astronaut Sally Ride.
The new series The Challenger is in the works at Amazon MGM Studios, Deadline reported.
In the series, Kristen Stewart will play the role of real-life trailblazing astronaut and physicist Sally Ride.
The Challenger is based on The New Guys, a book written by Meredith E Bagby. The book traces the history of NASA’s 1978 class, the first to include women and people of colour.
In 1983, Sally became the first American woman and first LGBTQIA+ person to fly on the space shuttle, making her an instant celebrity at the time.
However three years later, on January 28, 1986, the space shuttle Challenger exploded just seconds into its ascent. The explosion killed all seven crew members.
Sally Ride (below) was the only astronaut on the panel of the subsequent Rogers Commission investigating the tragedy.
Sally died in 2012 at age 61 after a battle with cancer.
Image: NASA
Kristen Stewart ‘one of the great actors of her generation’
Actress and producer Kyra Sedgwick’s company is developing the project. She told Deadline she wanted Kristen Stewart for the role after seeing her 2024 lesbian bodybuilder crime thriller Love Lies Bleeding.
“She has never done television,” Kyra said.
“But when she read this she became obsessed with telling the story of Sally Ride from her own unique perspective that I won’t even try to paraphrase because she is so eloquent about it.
“She was so stunning in these pitch meetings… She’s so compelling and was so rabid about telling this story about an American hero who had to hide who she was, in that time.
“Who better to play Sally Ride than one of the great actors of her generation?”
Watch Kristen Stewart in Love Lies Bleeding
Love Lies Bleeding opened in cinemas earlier this year, and is available to rent or buy now.
The A24-backed flick has Kristen Stewart playing Lou, a reclusive gym manager who falls hard for Jackie (played by Katy M O’Brian). Jackie is an ambitious bodybuilder heading through town to Las Vegas in hot pursuit of her athletic dreams.
However, the queer couple’s “love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family,” the synopsis says.

A v unprofessional rating of every* book on my shelf bc i'm bored
*every book i've read bc I still haven't gotten to some of them, also skipping the Rick Riordan books bc i'm sure y'all have heard plenty about them, and also not any of the history/government/theology books.
A Spartans Sorrow by Hannah Lynn - 3/5, it was a book, I loved it but the end just completely lost my attention. Like yeah ik that's how the greek myth goes but tbh should've stopped 3 chapters ago.
Circe by Madeline Miller - 5/5 ik y'all keep talking about song of achilles but holy shit Circe
Lore by Alexandra Bracken - 0/5 I legit got 2 chapters in and gave up. I'm so sorry. cannot believe i spent $13 on this thing.
Loki; Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee - 4/5, I read this once when I was 13 and enjoyed it a lot but i'm not sure if I would now. sticking Loki in Victorian England was honestly a 10/10 choice aesthetic wise.
Children of Ragnorok by Cinda Williams Chima - 5/5 a lot of ppl didn't like it apparently I think it's absolutely amazing and love it and you all should read it but that could be the hyperfixtation talking
The Goddess of Nothing At All by Cat Rector - 10000000000/5 ac hbdcksjlzmpx[ac ovcjnmxjklo nvsoiu jkoxicn hdikxcv hubisjkvixd9jcg hujkcu cvbmdskjxcjv gchxskc vcxdc nc gh ybgf7duhibjfdijdg yvwebdjvgy f7fhfjbknionbh fbdjff hfdfubhxukcjhukzixc bhnnxjk. READ IT RIGHT NOW I SWEAR GO READ NOW
The Librarian of Auschwitz by Antonio Iturbe - 4.5/5 Good book, very heavy and bc of that took me a bit to get through.
The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah - 6/5 I spilt tea on this book twice and both times kept reading before it had even dried all the way
Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr - 4.5/5 I see his other book All The Light We Cannot See talked about a lot more but legit this one is so much better. People from the far past to the distant future and they're all learning about the same thing?? amazing idea???
I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys - 5/5 I read Between Shades of Gray and Salt to the Sea and preordered this one immediately afterwords. I was saving it to be a 'summer book' but read it in like 2 days the moment in came in instead.
The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck - the school book we had to read that I liked enough I bought a copy. Sucker for "here's a guy living his regular life." books.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - 5/5 i swear to everything if you do not like crying over books do not read this. I don't cry over books and I cried so hard over this one my sister asked me if I was okay the next morning bc I woke her up accidentally.
The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams - 5/5 I think about this book regularly, still a sucker for 'here's a person living their life' book.
American Royals by Kathrine McGee - 3/5 too much romance, not enough politics from a made up world that doesn't effect me.
Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston - 4/5 we love politics from a world that doesn't effect me, lost a point on the ending but i'm bad at those too so such is life ig.
Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins - 3.5/5 it was a lovely read for a day i had nothing else to do on. don't think I would read it again tho.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid - 5/5 LOVE goodness I was not expecting who the love of her life would be, not to mention I adore anything with platonic soulmates.
They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera - 4/5 i uh, i convinced myself they weren't gonna die at the end.
Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich - 4/5 the book??? is so much sadder than the musical oh my gosh????? was mad to find they cut out half the important stuff about Conner in the musical.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab - 3/5 one of those times i listened to booktok, was very disapointed.
The October List by Jeffery Deaver - 5/5 a hughdscalc gchkcjs;ln jcxsumj km ITS WRITTEN BACKWARDS AND THE SUSPENSE IS INSANE YOU KNOW EVERYTHING AND NOTHING AT ALL
One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus - 3/5 Decent, but not good enough that after I set it down I picked it back up. I had like 20 pages until the end, still don't know who the killer was.
The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B White - 10/5 back when I was a small child and didn't have money or transportation the library and had a limited of selection of books this is what I read. I have it memorized and also somehow thought the title was 'the trumpeter swan' until literally yesterday.
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas - 5/5 someone take away this french mans pen.

Dave Bautista Sacrifices ‘Knock at the Cabin’
Tumblr media
Supernatural filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan adapts author Paul G. Tremblay’s 2018 horror novel The Cabin at the End of the World into an apocalyptic home invasion thriller theorizing on the biblical end times in Knock at the Cabin. What follows is essentially an existential horror rumination on the dilemma of the trolley problem as a series of psychological thought experiments.
Starring former professional wrestler Dave Bautista, who has thoroughly transformed himself into a soft-spoken serious actor, things take a quick turn for the worst when he and three other mysterious strangers approach a gay couple (Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge) and their adopted daughter (Kristen Cui) on a remote vacation alone in the woods.
Essentially a contemporary genre riff on the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” taken from Christian scripture, Shyamalan is perhaps too effective at crafting a self-contained biblical tale of suspense as the bare plot wears awfully thin by the second half.
Bautista gives a stunning performance as a kind and sensitive hulk of a man reluctantly compelled into persuading strangers into sacrificing a loved one in order to save the rest of the world. Cui is mesmerizing as a terrified seven-year-old child thrown into the violent chaos of the theoretical reckoning of the end of the world.
Where Knock at the Cabin falls apart is how the ominous single-location film shows and tells us far too much about the characters’ crystal clear beliefs and (lack of crisis of) faith.

Fantasy High team how we doing?
(My Fantasy High specific analysis. I can’t believe I did this.) Let’s begin by pointing out the fact that there are 1045 FH fics including crossovers. I did not filter out everything because I need a will to live. Anyway, overview time.
Tumblr media
I need you to know like 8 of those Multi hits was just people who confused me so much I couldn’t pull the tags apart. So in reality there’s probably like 80ish poly fics which is still valid. Moving on. Because this area actually has a solid amount of fic I went for the warnings here too.
Tumblr media
Now I gotta remind y’all I’ve read all tags and I know that the fics labelled Major Character Death for FH are generally followed by (Temporary) except for a small amount who don’t. I’m not gonna talk about warnings 5 and 6. Let’s look at some relationships.
Tumblr media
I don’t know why The Bad Kids & The Bad Kids (Dimension 20) makes me laugh so much but it does. Let’s talk about how Kristen only appears once in this list sometime. Character time, let’s see what I expected
Tumblr media
What did Gorgug and Kristen do to deserve this??? Tag time before I get mad
Tumblr media
I don’t have anything to say about this ones other than that’s wild, and dang that tag is big.  In conclusion did you give me exactly what I expected? No F/F came way closer to M/M than I expected. Did you give me most of what I expected? Absolutely.

cassandra elaine mitchell, mostly known as cass, was the second child born to kristen mitchell on november 1, 1998. cass’s upbringing was known to be rocky, at best. kristen was a single mother to cass and her older half-sister, penelope. cass and penelope were almost seven years apart in age, but that couldn’t get in the way of their bond.
from a young age, penelope felt very protective over cass. part of that was out of necessity. see, kristen wasn’t exactly committed to the whole mother-gig. penelope and cass weren’t apart of her plan, just byproducts of drunken one-night-stands. kristen often had trouble holding down a job and seemed more invested in finding herself a relationship to dive into. when it came to being a mother, though, she often didn’t even try. she relied on penelope a lot as the girl got older, even leaving the young child in charge for days at a time as kristen went off on another bender or to another party. penelope tried to shield cass from a lot of it, but that wasn’t an easy job.
when penelope turned 19, kristen was even more of a mess than usual. she had lost her job completely, their home was about to be repossessed, and the woman just couldn’t handle it all. so, she disappeared. packed up and left, leaving cass under penelope’s care.
it was less than ideal for a 19-year-old to now be on her own taking care of a 12-year-old child, but penelope and cass were closer than anything. they knew they could make it work. now that it was just the two of them, they didn’t have to worry about their mother coming in and screwing things up. penelope began working two jobs in town so she and cass could rent a tiny one bedroom. it was tough, but it brought penelope and cass together.
with penelope at work so often, cass was suddenly on her own more and more. it was lonely and isolating, so she decided she would find adventure for herself. cass was always an explorer. a wanderer, as penelope would often call her. she liked to dive into unknown territory, discover new things, and jump off high places just to see how it would feel. it drove penelope crazy, but it made cass feel alive.
cass always prioritized herself over school. it wasn’t that she wasn’t smart. it was that she hated the idea of being cooped up in a classroom for eight hours every day. she became known for her skill in cutting classes.
when cass was in high school, she started to make more and more friends. eventually, she found herself apart of the group known as the rioters. other than penelope, cass had never really had a family. and slowly but surely, the rioters really became to feel like one. she was their very own sarcastic, jaded, adventurous lost soul. some of her best memories ever were with the rioters.
as high school came to a close, cass had to decide what was next. most of her friends were off to exciting things, but cass didn’t have a plan. neither did penelope. but the older girl was exhausted all of the time, having spent half of her 20s just working to put a roof over their heads. so, the two decided to leave rochdale behind and actually see what else the world had to offer. after graduation, they jumped in their car and were off.
they spent many years travelling...setting up shop in small towns where they could earn some money, spending nights eating one-dollar cheeseburgers and sleeping in their car. it was far from glamorous. but it was exciting. all they needed was each other. cass would take photos, documenting their journey. they would pick up jobs in retail during the holiday season or waitress at a local diner for a few months until they decided to move on.  they lived their lives month-to-month. week-to-week. minute-to-minute.
eventually, penelope felt like they should think about settling down somewhere. as much as she enjoyed the adventure with her sister, she craved stability. cass didn’t agree. this was the life she liked. nomadic. impermanent. nowhere they could hang around too long and risk getting hurt. they fought about it. weeks went by, and the two still couldn’t agree. hurtful things were said, accusations were made. cass and penelope had finally found the thing between them they just couldn’t settle.
one night, cass stormed out of their motel, having had enough of her sister. little did she know, penelope went after her. she drove around all night looking for her sister, but it was no use. penelope was starting to feel tired behind the wheel. she decided to go back to the motel, thinking perhaps cass had returned. on her way back, penelope was drifting, trying like hell to stay awake. she didn’t even realize when she had run the stop sign. then...crash.
the police were already at the motel when cass decided to head back. she found them there, lights flashing, waiting. they told her about penelope and the crash. they told her about how her sister, her person, died instantly from the impact. and that day, something inside cass broke.
as soon as she could, cass packed up her stuff and left. she was full of anger and resentment. she hated the world, but mostly, she hated herself. cass continued to travel around, now on her own. she spent a lot of time in colorado, working on a horse farm. but she couldn’t let anyone get close to her. she was incredibly lonely. after almost a year of life without penelope, cass felt herself drawn back to rochdale. for how long? she didn’t know. maybe just the summer seeing old friends would do her some good. but she was afraid to admit the truth. she needed them. the rioters. the only family she had left.
C U R R E N T L Y
cass has just come back to rochdale for the summer. she is looking forward to seeing her old friends again, but she is more than scared to admit how much she feels like she needs them. she intends to play it cool...exercising her usual bit of not letting people in. at least, not enough to see the pieces of her she keeps hidden away.
having been on the road for a long time, cass isn’t used to staying put, so she might start to feel a little restless. despite her loss, she still craves adventure and maybe even a bit of recklessness.
C O N N E C T I O N S / P L O T S
partner in crime: i would love for there to be someone who was cass’s ride or die, her partner in crime while they were in the rioters.
on-again-off-again: cass is bad relationships, but there could have been someone she was in that classic on-again-off-again relationship with. she probably cares about them a lot, but just couldn’t let her go there.
unrequited love: come on, she would also be the type to have head a friend that was like in love with her or something, but she never knew or never wanted to admit that she knew.
frenemies: someone she bumped heads with a lot. maybe they got in each other’s way or just couldn’t stand each other.
exes (flings, hook-ups, brief relationships etc): anything like this i’m totally game for.
hateship: am i a sucker for a hateship/enemies-to-lovers trope? perHAPS
anything at all: i am truly open for anything. please don’t be afraid to ask if you think she fits something you want for your character too. i can be bad at asking for plots so please don’t hesitate to hit me up!! :)

Movie Night
Steve x reader x Wanda
The three of you led incredibly busy lives. There were missions to do, reports to write up, galas and charity events to attend and what seemed like thousands of meetings per week. Sometimes the work schedule seemed never ending so the three of you needed to squeeze in moments of peace whenever you could.
At least once a month the three of you gathered in one of your rooms and had a movie night. Steve would pick a few movie off his never ending list of things he needed to see, Wanda would make a meal from her childhood for before and you would prepare plates of different snacks to eat during.
Movie night was your tradition and the three of you would often stay awake long after that night became the next day.
“How many snacks did you bring?” Wanda questioned you as you carried in two shopping bags.
“Steve has an increased appetite. I’m not going to have my snacks stolen because I forgot to bring enough again.” You told her, placing the bags by the couch and moving into her kitchen.
“Are you still mad he ate your M&M’s?” Wanda snickered, putting a pan in the oven.
“Yes, I’m still mad about that.” You grumbled before clapping your hands. “How can I help you?”
“You can sit there and not move.” Wanda said, pointing her wooden spoon at you. “You and cooking do not mix.”
“I burnt one thing.” You complained but took your seat. Wanda had almost finished when two phone pings rang out. “He’s coming now, he was caught in a meeting.”
“Where is my phone?” Wanda asked, looking around the kitchen.
“In the sugar container.” You and another voice said in unison. Looking behind you, you saw Steve out of uniform walking towards the pair of you.
“You always leave it in the sugar container.” Steve added, standing next to you and wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
“Ah, thank you.” She chirped, pulling the phone out of the container.
“How was the meeting?” You asked him, leaning back to look up at him.
“Unproductive. Someone forgot to bring the right paper work and Tony kept trying to set me up with Kristen.” Steve sighed, taking a seat next to you.
“I thought you went on a date with Kristen?” Wanda asked him, beginning to plate up the food.
“No Sam went out with Kristen last week.” Steve told her. “They went to that diner you like.”
“Oh, right and he spilled his milkshake on her.” Wanda nodded as you moved to help bring places over to the table.
“I think they’re going out this weekend again.” You commented, taking your seat.
“Good for Sam.”
“What about you Y/N? Anyone special in your life we should know about?” Wanda asked you.
“As if. You’d be the first to know if you were getting any.” You sorted, taking a bite of the meal. “Wanda this is delicious.”
Dinner was a lovely affair filled with playful teasing, talks about future missions and stories of the day. When all was finished you and Steve did the dishes while Wanda poured glasses of wine for you and herself.
“Alright Steve, where did we get up to?” Wanda asked, jumping onto her couch.
“Number 57; The Princess Bride.” Steve said as you set up the T.V.
“Sam?” You questioned.
“No, Tony.” Steve said, picking up one of the bags you’d brought. “Are you trying to feed an army?”
“I’m trying to feed you. So you don’t steal our snacks at two a.m.” You said, sitting on his other side.
“You’re never going to live down the M&M thing Stevie.” Wanda laughed.
“I did say I was sorry.” Steve whined.
“And I did say I forgive you, but there is a part of my heart that will always ache at the betrayal. You said, patting him on the arm.
“And that’s number 62 on the list finished.” Wanda said, stretching as she stood up.
“My legs are asleep.” You complained, reaching a hand up to the witch. Wanda smiled and easily helped you stand.
“Not the only thing asleep.” Wanda smirked, pointing behind you to Steve. Looking over your shoulder you did see the blonde super soldier fast asleep on the couch.
“Should we wake him?” You asked her.
“No, let him sleep.” Wanda said, flicking her hand and using her powers to gently move him in a laying position.
Packing away the left-over food and placing the rubbish in the second bag, you let out a long yawn.
“I think I’m going to need to get some sleep too.” You said, picking up the bags. “You need any help with anything?”
“No, you’re fine. You want to come over for breakfast in the morning? We can guilt Steve into making pancakes.” Wanda offered, walking you to the elevator.
“Sounds good. I’ll bring coffee for me and Steve and some herbal tea for you.” You smiled, hugging the woman. “See you in a few hours.”
“See you in a few hours.” She agreed. As the doors to the elevator closed a smile crossed your face.
Why couldn’t Steve and Wanda love you like you loved them?
It had been six months since Steve fell asleep on the couch and you were on movie 147. You had been on a mission for nearly a month and had only gotten back that day. And apparently, you had missed a lot.
Steve and Wanda were now together.
You were incredibly happy for the two, they were your friends after all, but as soon as you heard the news you felt a small part of your heart break.
It was only seven at night but you had just gotten back an hour ago and you were dead tired. You’d dragged your tired body out of the elevator and threw yourself onto your couch.
You had only been laying there for a few minutes, and had almost drifted off, when you head the elevator doors ding.
“Tony if that’s you, I’m not doing the mission report. Be a grown up and do it yourself.” You grumbled without looking back.
“Not Tony, doll.” Steve chuckled, lifting your legs and sitting on your couch. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah just tired.” You said, rolling over to face the man. “What’s up Steverino?”
“Wanda’s making a big meal, we’ve got snacks and we're up to movie 148. All we seem to be missing is our girl.” Steve smiled, drawing circles on your ankle. “What do you say, doll?”
“I say it sounds nice, but I just assumed movie nights wouldn’t be happening anymore.” You said, sitting up.
“What put that thought into your pretty little head?” Steve questioned you.
“I just assumed that since you and Wanda were a couple, the two of you would finish the list together.” You shrugged.
“Movie night wouldn’t be the same without our girl.” Steve said, making your heart flutter. “So come on, what do you say? Movie night?”
“Yeah, movie night sounds good.” You smiled.
“There she is!” Wanda cheered a couple minutes later. “I thought you would’ve been asleep by now.” She commented, pulling you into a tight hug.
“You know me, never need to sleep” You said after she pulled away.
“Might have to put that to good use one day.” Wanda smirked, sitting you on a chair. “You two got here just in time, dinner is all done.” She said before you could question her.
“It smells so good, Wanda.” You complimented, eagerly taking a bite.
“Well anything probably smells better than the food you get on a mission.” Steve snickered.
“Technically yes, but Wanda’s cooking is better than anyone else’s.”
“And this is why Y/N is my favourite person in this tower.” Wanda smiled.
After dinner was finished and you and Steve helped Wanda with the dishes the three of you settled onto the couch.
“Alright what is movie 148?” You asked, leaning onto the arm of the couch.
“Silence of the lambs.” Steve announced, searching the movie as Wanda wrapped an arm around you and pulled you into her side.
Non-reader
“You know Y/N fell asleep an hour ago, right?” Wanda asked Steve as he moved to change the movie.
“She did just get back.” Steve said, smiling at the sight of Y/N asleep on Wanda’s shoulder.
“Steve, when are we going to tell her?” Wanda asked him. “She’s not going to say no, trust me.” She smiled.
“It’s not nice to go rummaging through people’s head when they’re asleep.” Steve mocked chided.
“She has loud thoughts.” Wanda shrugged. “Stop avoiding the question Steve. When are we going to tell her?”
“Wanda, you know I’m bad at this.” Steve whined, sitting on the coffee table. “It was hard to admit my feelings to you and it was harder to tell you about my feelings for Y/N too. If I tell her, that’s when it’ll get ruined.”
“If you were talking to the both of us for the first time on your own, then yes you probably would fail.” Wanda told him, taking his hand in hers. “But you’ve already got me and we’ll be telling her together. You can’t fail with me.”
“Alright, we can tell her soon.” Steve agreed, squeezing her hand.
“You’ve just told her.” Y/N said groggily.
“Sorry, were we too loud?” Steve questioned, looking over to her.
“Was never fully asleep.” Y/N shrugged, sitting up. “You gonna talk to me about your feelings now?” You smiled.
“Um, well, me and Wanda. Me and Wanda, we’re both in love with you. And, um, if you felt the same we were wondering if you would be with us. And this doesn’t have to change anything if you don’t feel the same way we can still be friends and you don’t have feel pressured.”
“Steve breathe.” Wanda cut in. “If she weren’t already in love with us, you might have scared her off with your rambling.” She said fondly.
“Oh no I think it’s endearing to see Captain America so flustered.” Y/N smirked. “I’m slightly sleep deprived, so this isn’t going to come out very eloquently but I really, really love you. Have done since movie 36.”
“American Pie.” Steve nodded.
“You hated it.” Y/N and Wanda said together.
“Get some sleep, Y/N.” Wanda said, noticing Y/N beginning to drift.
“We can talk more in the morning.” Steve told her, taking one of her hands and giving her a smile.
“We better. Because I really want to call you both mine.” Y/N murmured, falling asleep on Wanda’s shoulder.
Reader POV
“And what’s all this?” Wanda asked, leaning on the door frame of the kitchen. "Am I being replaced?"
"Never." Steve smiled, looking up from the cutting board.
"This is an early anniversary surprise." You told her, moving forward and giving her a kiss.
"Surprise." Steve said as you moved Wanda toward the table.
"And what a nice surprise it is. I Iike seeing the two of you in the kitchen, with a fire extinguisher nearby." She smirked.
"Rude" You pouted as Steve chuckled. Steve gave you a quick kiss before reaching behind you and putting the knife in the sink.
"If we're doing surprises, I got something for movie night." Wanda announced.
"A new fire extinguisher? You guessed. "'Cos I'm pretty sure that one doesn't work." You smirked.
"No, but I'm going to put that on the list." Wanda nodded. "You'll get to see when we start the movies."
"I hate it when you do that." Steve groaned. "You know how I feel about surprises."
"We know." You and Wanda said in unison. "You don't wike them." You both added before bursting out laughter.
"I'm never drinking Thor's liquor again." He groaned.
"Okay, dinner has been eaten, the dishes are finished and Steve is putting on movie 353." Steve said, sitting on the couch with Wanda.
"What one's 353?" Wnda interrupted.
"Taken." You said. "Though I swear we already watched it."
"Anyway, it's all done and dusted. Now, what's the surprise?" He asked her impatiently. Wanda let out an exaggerated huff before pulling herself off the couch and moving into the bedroom.
"So for this movie night, the night before our two year anniversary, I come bearing gifts." Wanda said dramatically. She exited the bedroom with a shopping bag in hand. "For my favorite girlfriend, two party bags of M&M's." She said, throwing the two bags at you.
"Steve, if you touch these you're on the couch for a week." You said, clutching the bags close with a smile. "Thank you, Wanda."
"And for my Doritos shaped boyfriend, two bags of his favourite chips." Wanda added, throwing Steve his chips.
"Y/N, same sentiments." Steve said, looking at you and giving you a nod.
"And there is another bag in the bedroom, but that surprise is for our actual anniversary." Wanda told you both, jumping onto the couch with you both.
"Tease" You smiled, curling into Steve's side.
"You love it."
"I love you. And I love you too, Stevie." You said taking Wanda’s hand and pressing a kiss to Steve's shoulder.
"Aw, I love you too." Wanda smiled, kissing your fingertips.
"I love both my best girls." Steve said, wrapping an arm around Wanda and pulling her into his side as well.
Six hours later it was just after twelve and Wanda was fast asleep, face pressed into Steve's chest and hand still clutching yours.
"You got her?" You asked Steve as he gently cradled her in his arms.
"Yeah. Let's get her to bed." Steve said as the two of you walked into your shared bedroom.
You gotta love movie night.
