how do I know if I have lipedema or am just really pear-shaped?
Oooooh good question! I do suggest you do some Dr. Googling. There isn't much out there and a lot of general practitioners are not familiar with it unfortunately, but I've learned a lot just reading the few sites there are about it. I also see an OT who has shared a lot of info. But doing some research before you see anyone may be really helpful.
Think about the shape of your body. Have you lost weight and only see more results on the upper body versus lower body? Are your hips/thighs always larger than your upper body regardless of weight?
Underneath the skin you will feel something like beads or peas. This is the lipedema fat, it's tough and hard and not soft like normal fat. Feel around your legs and see if you can find anything like small beads.
Lipedema may also be in the arms. Are your upper arms always flabby and bigger proportionately to the rest of your arm? Even with weight loss? It's much easier for me to feel the lipedema fat in my arms because they are softer in general.
Something I experience is more fluctuations with water/fluid weight. That's because the lymph fluid gets trapped in the body due to the excess fat getting in the way.
Also, do your legs and arms feel heavy? Do they ache or feel pain? This is due to lymph being trapped in the body.
Do you bruise easily and often? Are you hypermobile, meaning have flexible joints? Hypermobility is linked to lipedema for some reason.
Hmmmm, I think that's a good start. I hope this is helpful! Please don't hesitate to DM me. I understand how difficult it is to get a diagnosis, no one knew how to help me with what I was experiencing. I literally felt crazy.

If you have pain or inflammation of any kind:
1. Correct your diet & prioritize foods high in healthy fats, fiber, and chlorophyll (greens).
2. Eat & juice alkaline foods, especially leafy greens & cruciferous vegetables (anything in the cabbage family).
3. Get more oxygen into your body and cells.
I highly recommend oxygen therapy (e.g. hyperbaric oxygen chambers). If you’re local visit @aspenvalleywellness
4. Consider other anti-inflammatory therapies to further support healing like cryotherapy, red light therapy, lymphatic massages. If you’re local visit @upgradelabsriverton
Our lymphatic system is an integral part of our immune system. Detoxing & supporting this system is crucial to prevent or heal disease.

After such a good start, back into fasting after two weeks away, I'm struggling.
The mucus problem is in overdrive.
Doesn't bother me so much during longer fasts, but it never goes away fully.
After a recommendation from a fellow resetter, I'm trying lymphatic drainage massage.
No idea if it's having any effect just yet, but I'm going to keep on with it, at least once a day.
I'm at the point now where I'll honestly try anything, as long as it's free, lol.
Most people have strongly advised me to go back to dairy free and persist with it.
But I don't want to do two things at once, or I won't know which one helped, if either of them DO help.
So I'll stick with this for a week. If ot makes no difference, I'll have to go dairy free once again.
I'm also now thinking the recent damp, muggy weather is another trigger.
Anyway, on with this new trual.
Plus I will hopefully have my results back from the hair strand bioresonance test in the next few days
I started the day with my usual bulletproof, then got moving with a good, solid upper body strength workout.
Lack of sleep, food intolerances, roller coaster blood sugars, inflammatory conditions and rubbish weather won't get in my way.
Clench those fists, look straight ahead, and keep working......

anyone else here a 17 y/o girlie with an "important lymphedema" that no one seems to find the cause of but "oh that's weird you shouldn't be suffering from this at age 17, people generally get those in their 60-70s"?
cause I personally can't do this anymore and I've been dealing with mine for just 4 months.
