This is a fun, fast-paced ya thriller that kept me on my toes. Jade is a bit of a drama queen, but who could help it after a horrible breakup. Jade's ex, Silas, left her for her best friend and both cut off all contact. Pretty depressing. But, when she sees that they are boarding the same overseas learning cruise, things start to fly off the handle, and Jade winds up looking suspicious.
I enjoyed this one. It's really a fun and quick read. I couldn't take Jade too seriously because she seemed a bit over the top at times. But, I wound up liking this!
Out May 2, 2023!
Thank you, Netgalley and Publisher, for this Arc!

⭐️⭐️⭐️
Read 26/9/24-29/9/24
Very High School for a YA set in college. The fmc is very annoying. Actually everyone is pretty annoying but I wanted to solve the mystery. Gives off strong One Of Us is Lying vibes,
The ending is good, so if you’re like me and you’re getting frustrated and bogged down with the endless anxiety driven theories, stick with it.

My nautical themed thriller collection is growing… I’ve heard good things about ‘Lying in the Deep‘ by Diana Urban. I kind of want to borrow a dingy and float out on the water to read this – just for the right ambience. Does anyone else read books in locations that will add to the experience, or is it just me?

Lying in the Deep
So Lying in the Deep had so many elements I love in thrillers, but my overall feeling was much more meh than wow.  You know I like fiction set in exotic new places, and I always love when our characters get cut off from everyone else, so a thriller set on a Semester at Sea-style […]

It's a little amusing just how similar Spock's and Garak's patterns of speech are. They're not identical, of course, and they emphasize things very differently, but they do for sure say the same type of shit sometimes. Are you an EDUCATED HOMOSEXUAL with a FACADE? Try using LARGE WORDS and DOUBLE NEGATIVES today!

oh my god okay. The fact that Wayne narrates the lore of the Creel House and Eddie narrates the Vecna campaign is so important to me. It means that Eddie grew up listening to his uncle tell stories. It means that those stories left such an impact on him, that he started telling stories of his own.
It means Eddie inherited the storytelling trait from Wayne.

booktok cannot handle unfriendly or emotionally complex female characters. show them a woman who’s a little problematic and they start shaking and shitting themselves. women can be either be martyrs or victims, anything else and ppl short circuit. men can be fucked up emotionally manipulative mass murders but if women have one unpalatable emotion they’re drawn & quartered.
if booktok bitches saw the female characters i liked they would piss blood for a week !!!!

And the ones I did on my own were to protect me from you, Mr. Molloy. Why did I owe you my shame?
