Congratulations to both India and Russia for landing on the moon. India’s Chandrayaan-3 probe landed softly near the Manzinus crater at the lunar south pole. Not to be outdone, Russia’s Luna-25 probe made its own crater.

Can we just contemplate for a few minutes; the fact that there's a crashed rocket on the moon right now and that from this day forward, future generations will grow up with the fact that they live on a world with a crashed rocket on the surface of it's moon. Just ..just think about that

Tired: "It's amazing that we get to live in a time where a probe has crashed on the moon"
Wired: We live in a time where there exist the corroded remains of a series of landers on Venus that despite the acid atmosphere persevered just long enough to send us images of a landscape that no human will ever visit.

Looks like Luna-25 put itself on the wrong trajectory and impact the lunar surface. Unclear exactly what went wrong. Note that the landing attempt wasn't planned for a couple more days.
Russia's post-Soviet deep space efforts have been plagued with problems, and this failure represents a major setback in the Russo-Chinese plans to rival US-led lunar efforts in the coming years.

The Russian space agency Roscosmos has confirmed that its Luna 25 lander crashed on the Moon following an anomaly in one of the maneuvers that was supposed to lead to its Moon landing on Monday. The problems began on Saturday, when there was the problem and communications were lost. An examination of the telemetry data received up to that point led to the conclusion that the impulse was excessive, leading to a trajectory that caused a crash. Yet another problem in the Russian space program will bring consequences yet to be assessed in the Luna-Glob program which is based on increasingly ambitious missions for the next few years and had already accumulated years of delay.

Chandrayaan 3 Live Status: India Joins Elite Space Club: Chandrayaan-3 Becomes 4th Successful Moon Landing in History
Tumblr media
Chandrayaan 3 Live Status: India’s Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander successfully made a soft landing on the Moon’s southern polar region, joining the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union as the only nations to achieve such a feat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the BRICS Summit and praised India’s advanced space capabilities and technological prowess. The mission aims to uncover the mysteries of the lunar south pole, which holds significant scientific and strategic interest for future space missions.
With the successful soft landing of the Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander on the southern polar region of the Moon, India’s space programs have achieved an incredible milestone. With this amazing accomplishment, India joins the exclusive club of the US, China, and the erstwhile USSR as the only countries to have accomplished a successful soft landing on the moon’s surface.

Russia's Luna-25 spacecraft crashes into the moon orbit
Russia is a developing country. If we focus on the past, during the time of the USSR, Russia was the only country that secured a seat in the UN Security Council and accepted all the challenges and commitments during the Soviet Union.
But nowadays, Russia is facing many challenges, such as economic inequality, corruption, and especially the Russia-Ukraine war.
Recently, Russia launched Luna-25 on the 10th of August to explore the South Pole of the moon and to compete with India.

Russia’s Luna-25 spacecraft crashes into the Moon
While India’s spacecraft landed on the lunar surface, the Russian one collided with it. The mixed record shows that developing a lunar economy won’t be easy. On August 20, Russia’s Luna-25 lander malfunctioned, and it appears to have crashed while preparing for a landing planned for the next day. Roscosmos, Russia’s space agency, had intended to deploy Luna-25 for a yearlong mission near the…

The Chandrayaan-3 mission has successfully completed its most crucial milestone
Tumblr media
All eyes around the world are on Chandrayaan-3. After the Russian Lunar-25 failed in landing, now there is excitement that Chandrayaan-3 will also land safely. However.. ISRO, having learned lessons from Chandrayaan-2 failures, is being very careful about every aspect of this mission. It is progressing in a slow and study manner.
The Chandrayaan-3 mission has successfully completed its most crucial milestone. ISRO announced the successful completion of the second and final de-boosting of the mission early Sunday morning. With this, the lander Vikram entered the orbit at a minimum distance of 25 kilometers and a maximum distance of 134 kilometers from the moon. Lander Vikram will attempt soft landing on the moon from this point. ISRO has already announced that the soft landing process of Zabili on the South Pole will take place on Wednesday.
"The second and final deboosting operation was successfully completed, reducing the mission's orbit to 25 x 134 km. Internal observations are done in the module. One has to wait for sunrise in the area to try for soft landing. We expect this milestone to be discovered on 23 August 2023 at 5.45 pm IST,” ISRO said. The sources of ISRO scientists revealed that since the mission is in the most critical phase, they are being monitored very carefully...
