Devils vs rangers
My moms word of the game is fuck
PK = penalty kill
Second period
Let’s go devils
Smith going to the box.
#NJDevils to the PK.
#NJDevils playing with fire as Smith goes to the box
#NJDevils Smith's penalty is now offset by Fox taking an interference penalty.
Fox negates the PK.
4on4 for 1:30. #NJDevils
Fox evens it up setting a pick kn Lazar at the blue line. 4v4 for 90 sec
Nico saving the day with a sweep of the puck on the goal line.
1-0 NYR.
Rangers make it 1-0, not quite strong enough puck play in the corner there
Jesper Bratt denied on the breakaway.
Hughes-Hischier-Meier
Palat-Haula-Bratt
#NJDevils going to the power play.
Lafreniere off for boarding Luke Hughes.
Lafrenière is going to go off for boarding on Luke.
Shoulder to shoulder
Nemec goes to have a few words with Lafrenière afterward.
Let’s all hope Luke will be ok
We got Mercer and fox fight!!!
2-0 NYR. (Fuck)
Jonas is injured
MacDermid B-lines for Rempe after a very not clean hit by Matt Rempe.
Jonas Siegenthaler just got slammed into the boards and is leaving the ice with a trainer. Headed to the #NJDevils locker room (there's only 29 seconds left)
Rempe elbows Siegenthaler in the head. Wow.
Rempe sent to the room waving "goodbye" to the #NJDevils bench.
Rempe is thrown out of the game, he gets a game misconduct (among other penalties).
MacDermid gets a 10-minute misconduct.
End of two.
#NJDevils trail the Rangers 2-0.

for the one anon about the kings and ducks preseason games happening tomorrow and are wondering about it bc all of the kings’ big boys are in australia, the kings will be playing their ahl team (ontario reign for anyone curious). so players who have signed their elc recently and those signed to ahl contracts will be there.
for umich fans, erik portillo will be a goalie there along with guys like brandt clarke (drafted same year as luke hughes, went 8th overall, brother of graeme clarke who was drafted and plays for the new jersey devils), francesco pinelli (2021 draft as well, and was projected to go in the first round but was taken in the second by la. they traded up for him via trade by ottawa), akil thomas (canadian player on the u20 2020 gold medal winning team with jamie drysdale), alex laferriere (drafted same year as alexis lafreniere, dawson mercer, and jamie drysdale).
i highly recommend watching the mic’d up videos of brandt clarke and francesco pinelli! they’re super fun and entertaining to watch and also you get a feel for the players most likely being played tomorrow. the ontario reign staff will also most likely be the coaching staff for these pre season games and the game between the kings and ducks aren’t a testament to how the kings will play during the regular season seeing as these players won’t be the kings regulars.
i also have to say that francesco pinelli is also easy on the eyes and i may or may not have an itty bitty crush on that man 🧍🏻♀️

NEW YORK, NY. (Fish Sports) - January 14th, 2021, marked the second night of the 2021 NHL season. On the ballot tonight, were 10 games. The eleventh game was between the Dallas Stars and Florida Panthers but was postponed due to multiple Stars personnel testing positive for COVID-19.
First up, was the Minnesota Wild visiting the Los Angeles Kings. The Wild won the game in overtime with the final score being 4 to 3. Smashville is the sight of our next matchup, where the Columbus Blue Jackets visited the Nashville Predators. We stay in the East where the New Jersey Devils hosted the Boston Bruins. Boston without their long-time captain Zdeno Chara, who joined the Washington Capitals in free agency this year. New Jersey's own goalie, long-time Chicago Blackhawk, Corey Crawford retired earlier this week putting Mackenzie Blackwood into the starter position. Boston won the game 3 to 2 in the season's first shoot-out. The first star of the game went to Ty Smith of New Jersey who scored a goal. The 2nd star went to Mackenzie Blackwood who had 35 saves on the night, with a .946 save percentage. The 1st star of the game went to Brad Marchand who had a goal and an assist on the night.

My favorite podcasts
I thought I’d make a post about some of the podcasts I listen to, in case anyone’s interested!
Hello Internet
It’s a podcast by YouTubers C.G.P. Grey and Dr. Brady Haran, where they talk about their lives, things that annoy them, and sometimes plane crashes and flags. There’s a lot of “lore” to the show.
The WAN Show
Usually hosted by Linus Sebastian and Luke Lafreniere of LinusTechTips, they discuss the past week’s news in the technology world, along with a copious amount of just screwing around. The sponsor spots are funny enough that they’re just memes at this point.
The Unmade Podcast
Hosted by Dr. Brady Haran and Rev. Dr. Tim Hein, these two childhood friends discuss ideas for podcasts that may never even be made.
Connected
A Relay FM show hosted by Stephen Hackett, Myke Hurley, and Federico Viticci, where they discuss the latest happenings in technology, mainly Apple.
Upgrade
Another Relay FM show hosted by Myke Hurley and Jason Snell, where they discuss the impact of technology on our lives and the world, as well as some tech news.
Cortex
This Relay FM show is hosted by C.G.P. Grey and Myke Hurley, and is all about productivity, and how technology plays a role in it.
The Pen Addict
Lastly, this Relay FM show is hosted by Brad Dowdy and Myke Hurley, and is all about pens, pencils, and stationery of any kind.
If y’all are interested, the titles for each are links to the podcasts!

couple of additions with my personnal faves :
neither of them really chirp a lot on the ice
when asked about what he wanted to do in the 21-22 season during his interviews and if he wanted to directly come to the NHL, Matty said “Not at all” and “No, my mom would kill me” (+ didn’t feel ready, wanted the full college experience without covid restrictions, etc)
Bords said he, Kent, Owen, Matty and Briss are really tight together (and their class/the sophomores in particular), and he said (from last year), I quote : “we’re not ready to leave each other, to leave this place”
they didn’t go the same highschool, it all depends on where the billet family lives (Matty was in Northville -he had his mom there-, Bords in Plymouth)
Bords is still in contact with his billet family (and it’s honestly the sweetest thing when he talks about them)
when they were in Switzerland, Bords’ family would come back to Montréal every summer
Bords when asked about the best players they’ve played against : “I played against Lafreniere growing up, he was really bad and then out of nowhere he became the best center I had ever seen in my life“
Bords : “We all keep each other pretty humble, it’s just how much we care about each other”
Bords’ already thinking about the future tattoos he’s gonna get (this/next) summer
the guys asked them about matching tattoos and Bords said he’s always trying to talk Matty into tattoos and then Matty tells about that time he told his mom he was going to get a tattoo (as a joke) and she freaked out and apparently Pat Brisson also go involved and Matty and Bords simultaneously do an imitation of him saying “No, I’m just sad”
both : “We have a tons of clowns in the locker rooms” | Bords : “the one that likes to stirs the pot the most is Briss” (and the most insane is Moyle)
they both explained that Briss basically tasks people with doing the pranks for him (it’s more understandable when you listen to the examples) | Bords : “if you’re gonna ask Briss if he did something, you gotta have ask him “do you know anything about it””
they do a lot of pranks within the team (but none that damage gear/fuck with practice) (although there is someone who Matty won’t name that always tighten Luke’s skates before he gets in)
they switched the name below their video from “Thomas Bordeleau” to “Bords” when Matty had to leave (there is a small cut) and I think that’s a little funny
Bords like to go the little produce station they have near the house (said he’s trying to get leaner and faster)
they kind of got Bords to admit he was a romantic after he described a restaurant that would be good for a date (his words) because he likes all the cute stuff (again, his words)
Bords spends a good part of the vid playing with a lighter (you can hear it in the beginning and see it towards the end) (useless info but what has this been so far anyway)
youtube
highlights from this interview:
their gross ass pranks
that time matty's mom nearly took away his car because he told her he was getting a tattoo
pat brisson begging briss during the same prank "please don't do that to your body"
their christmas tree still being up in APRIL
someone annoying luke by tying his skates together every other day at practice
bords being a secret romantic
nolan moyle being insane and taking this wayyyy too far
briss being a clown
more talk about chaotic college hockey boy things
