Ever since Ryan declared that his favourite show was I Love Lucy and one of his favourite ships is Lucy/Ricky, I can't stop thinking of the fact that, upon being asked to come up with a name, first name out of his mouth was, "Ricky" for Ricky Goldsworth.
That's the equivalent of asking someone here to name their OC and they go "So this is Naruto Destiel".

Can’t stop thinking about Mob Court.
Night Night is the spunky lawyer and Legs, with his thick Russian accent, is just like “hey don’t get up and fistfight anyone c‘mon” and together they’re infamously known as the best mob lawyers there are.
Lucy Gold, as head of the mob, is the judge. She demands that everyone addresses her as “Judge Goldsworth“ even her own son(s). She’s often exasperated with Night Night‘s antics but she knows he’s just passionate.
CC, as local Friend Of The Mob (or just friend of Ricky’s), is the public defender, considering he’s most familiar with the Legal justice system even tho he’s not technically a lawyer. He‘s constantly going on record and saying “I’d like to make it known to the court that I do not support the defendant‘s problematic behavior“ and “why do I have to represent this person”
Basically, the Mob sorts out their problems thru their own little court. Oftentimes they’ll usher in someone they want to kill and Night Night/Legs will make the case against them while CC has to convince the mob NOT to kill anyone, cuz c‘mon guys, murder isn’t the answer.
Anyway its the fairest court system there is, it’s just Not Legal

Buzzfeed Unsolved Cinematic Universe Headcanons for Pride! (Miscellaneous)
Lucy Goldsworth - Lesbian
- She actually grew up with Tinsley's mother, Christine, and highkeyly had a thing for her back in high school. She still kind of does.
- Unfortunately, she ended up marrying Ricky/Night Night's father for complicated reasons.
- When that marriage technically broke off, she felt a little freer to be with women. (Lucy walked so that Francesca could fly in the spy business, you heard it here first, folks.)
- A woman she had a fling with once actually convinced Lucy that she should try to find her children and Christine. The next day, she took that advice and booked a flight to New York where she tried to fix things with Ricky and Night Night before looking for Christine.
- Now they're growing old together, how about that :,)
- Lucy is legitemately that cool, lesbian aunt who adopts all of these disaster children.
Silent J Ilnycky - Heterosexual
- I don't have much to say about him, but he's definitely an ally.
- He sees Night Night and Legs having a wholesome moment in all the chaos and he's like, "Alright, carry on."
Others: Shane’s Personas, Ryan’s Personas

Ok, so if Night Night and Ricky are brothers,
Then why are the last names different? Was Night Night married? Did he change his name while on the run? They said that Lucy's last name is also goldsworth, but that her maiden name is Gold, so that means she was married to Ricky's father. Ricky's father is never referenced, so it is safe to assume that he either died or there was a divorce. So, that begs the question, are they half brothers? That would certainly explain the name difference! Of course, the lack of canon means that really anything can be true, and the entire thing is open for speculation. What do you think happened to Ricky and Night Nights father(s)? Why are their last names different? I would love to hear your theorys on this!

lost and found
summary: ricky didn’t expect to get emotionally attached to the guy he stole the wallet from and he definitely did not expect himself to take it this far
read on ao3!
based off this post:
Ricky was probably the only person on the planet who thought identity theft was an art. Most people would just scour online and pick some random people who had tons of money to steal from but Ricky was on a higher level than those criminals with low standards and too much greed. Some people would call Ricky spoiled as he grew up in a pretty wealthy family but if anything, Ricky just considered it an advantage rather than something to be ashamed of. Then again, his family was an important part of the organized crime world and nobody really wanted to mess with the Goldsworth’s.
Lucy Goldsworth was the one who had taught Ricky how to properly steal identities. She taught him various methods but Ricky’s personal favorite was pickpocketing. While many people saw pick-pocketing as a disgraceful act but pickpocketing was easily less traceable than stealing identities off the internet. Lucy had shown him how to slip his hand into people’s pockets and steal their wallet without fumbling. She had even allowed him to practice on her and eventually, Ricky perfected his pick-pocketing skills.
Next, Ricky learned how to choose which identities to steal from the array of identities stolen from wallets. This involved the use of the internet to research the people and find out where they lived, how much they had in their bank account, and what their jobs were. The more famous they were, the less likely the identity could be used. Additionally, the person being sold the identification should not live in the same area where the actual person lived in case somebody could call them out for stealing an identity. The final step in stealing an identity was relatively simple compared to the process of obtaining the identification in the first place. One simply had to replace the person’s photo on the identification with their own and the identity could be used.
Ricky was taught how to steal identities because his family, in addition to killing people for money, ran a business where they stole identities and sold them. He grew familiar in the practice of identity theft but still preferred killing people to pickpocketing. But, occasionally, Ricky still pickpocketed and stole a couple identities when he had time.
Today was one of those days where Ricky didn’t have many tasks to do. He had finished most of his assignments and decided to go out and steal some identities. Ricky decided to go to the mall as it was the ideal location with all the bustling people and loud commotion. He scanned the crowd of people threading in and out of stores with their hands full of shopping bags. His eyes landed on a tall person in a trench coat and fedora hat who was either a private detective or a passionate cosplayer and he saw the outline of a wallet in the trench coat.
Ricky casually walked towards the person and he bumped into the person, quickly reaching into the detective’s pocket to grab the wallet and slipping it into his own pocket. The detective seemed surprised by Ricky’s contact and Ricky quickly apologized, looking down at his watch and pretending he was in a rush, leaving to disappear into the crowd before the person could follow him. Ricky stole from a couple other people but nobody was as peculiar as that person.
When he arrived home, he sorted through the wallets and chose a couple good ones to use. The last wallet Ricky went through was the detective’s. The detective’s name was C.C. Tinsley, according to his driver’s license, and he was actually quite handsome. As it turns out, C.C. Tinsley was a private detective and when Ricky looked at his bank account, he felt bad for stealing Tinsley’s wallet. C.C. was clearly having some financial issues and Ricky, for the first time in his life, decided to return the wallet. He dropped the wallet (which had a couple more bills in it) off at C.C.’s doorstep and waited near the house in his car.
C.C. returned home from work and was delighted to find his wallet. His smile was stunning and for a moment, Ricky couldn’t believe that he ever stole this man’s wallet in the first place. C.C. took out a piece of paper from his coat and scribbled something on it, leaving it on the doorstep before he went into his house. Ricky snuck out of his car and stealthily grabbed the note before hurrying to the car and reading it. C.C. had written, “Thanks for returning the wallet! I’m not sure if you’re the one who stole it but thanks anyway :)”. He felt like a teenage girl who had just received her first love letter as he put the note in his pocket and drove home with a smile on his face.
Ricky thought that he would eventually forget about C.C. but he was sorely mistaken. Even after he was cleaning up corpses, he couldn’t help but wonder what C.C. was doing (probably investigating) and he wondered if C.C. thought about him too. C.C. didn’t know who Ricky was but maybe he wondered who had returned his wallet. Ricky was not used to emotional attachment so this whole concept was very new to him. He didn’t know if his feelings were caused by the act of doing something good for once in his life but whatever these feelings were, they were a little uncomfortable. Eventually, Ricky accepted his feelings and decided to reach out to C.C. again by sending him an envelope of money with a note that read “here’s a small gift! r.g.”
Again, Ricky watched C.C.’s reaction from afar and that was where he finally started to openly adore C.C. Ricky began by sending C.C. money and small gifts, such as watches, and over time, he slowly began to up the price of the gifts. C.C.’s reaction always gave Ricky a ridiculous amount of satisfaction and Lucy began noticing Ricky spending more time daydreaming about C.C. Ricky’s new favorite hobby was online shopping and sending clothes to C.C. that he thought C.C. would look good in and C.C. did end up wearing a couple outfits Ricky sent. This prompted Ricky to think bigger and one day, C.C. found a brand new TV waiting for him at his front door.
The detective was starting to find these gifts more strange and although he was obviously delighted, he confused by who possibly would go through all the trouble to help him. He tried to find Ricky but he never spotted the mysterious person who left all the gifts for him. Ricky didn’t stop sending gifts and C.C. left lots of thank you notes, all of which Ricky collected and cherished.
The final straw for C.C. was Ricky buying him a new house. One would assume that buying a house would cost a lot of Ricky but for C.C., Ricky was willing to kill everybody on the planet. C.C. was definitely not expecting to find out that he got a new house from the note Ricky left behind and he quickly wrote a note that read “Thank you very much for the house! I’m afraid I can’t take it as it’s too big of a gift and you’ve been too kind already. I would love for us to meet. Come by tomorrow at 7 PM if you would like.”
Later that night, Ricky spent all his time looking through his closet to find the perfect outfit to wear. He was nervous about meeting C.C. but hoped that if he met the detective, C.C. would accept the house. While he was choosing an outfit, Ricky suddenly realized he was basically C.C.’s sugar daddy and laughed out loud. Little did he know that his mother had been watching him pick outfits from the doorway and was smiling at how happy her son was.
Ricky arrived at C.C.’s place at precisely 7 PM and as he walked up to the front door, C.C. turned around and met his eyes, breaking into a smile, “As a private investigator, I feel like I should report as I’ve heard a lot about you. But, as a friend, I’m going to welcome you inside my house and have a nice chat about why you shouldn’t go around buying strangers houses.”
Ricky laughed and finally, he realized that there was a name for this whimsical feeling: love.

Sorry, this is gonna be long :C
Ricky Goldsworth: Classic Ricky, he's hot, he's fun and he's flirty lol He often appears successful without putting in the effort. Ricky's charm and manipulation skills are notable, he trusts only himself. Dude that doesn't leave the house without a switchblade and St. Lucy's medal. The guy can get arrested but he's found not guilty of most charges. He values his freedom and enjoys life on his own terms, making deep connections with only a few. Ah, he's a businessman or whatever. He distances himself from his brother due to a complex history but his relationship with Night Night has improved over time, despite their tough love dynamic.
C.C. Tinsley: Classic Tinsley, former police detective turned private investigator. Grew up in a tight-knit town, protective older brother to Banjo. Known for humorously responding to any CC name Banjo comes up with. Quick to get the handcuffs when Banjo's pranks go too far hashtagjailtime. Tries too hard. Tired. Coffee addict, (maybe not so) spotless reputation, unwillingly thrown into situations. Has a basset hound gifted by Banjo. Developed unique friendship with Ricky, yadda yadda.
Legs Madej, aka Long Legs: Demon with a chaotic yet affectionate nature. Despite his carefree demeanor, there's a hint of danger around him. Legs loves humanity, he still kills some ppl tho lmao. He's a master of exploiting loopholes and supports change and rebellion. Dude is in the body of Lech Amadej, who is an ancestor of Banjo and Tinsley, since the Enlightenment. Legs is Night Night's best friend/guardian demon, ensuring his well-being while engaging in various mischievous shit together.
Night Night Bergara, also known as Antonio Goldsworth: The older brother of Ricky, has a quick temper, anger management issues, a propensity for confrontation, exceptional intelligence and debating skills. His difficult childhood, religious upbringing, and financial struggles make him distance himself from his family and he forms unique friendships, particularly with Brent and Legs. hashtag lawboys. Dog motif. Eventually, he becomes a successful(?) lawyer, but like, he does crime on the side and brushes shoulders with the mob and rich ppl. Scar motif. He's competitive and has a tendency to hold grudges. He's everything to me btw.
Dr. Brent Fear: Yeah, I didn't think of a name for him, he's Brent now. A man of intellect and manipulation, with a God complex. The guy's not even a real doctor. He's a master of poisons and somniferous agents, he collects bugs, was some(rich)guy and turned into the joker because he had the misfortune of meeting Legs and Night Night. His fascination with a fraternity strains his friendship with Antonio 'Night Night'. HATES Legs sooo much. The prank war between him and Legs them escalates, and he nearly crosses the line into murder… He's a doctor of law, his impersonation skills are chilling, you could even say he does… killer impersonations. Skeptic, he dismisses the notion that Legs is a demon.
G'Day: the gentle (not that) giant. Quiet, soft spoken. An Aussie Werewolf in America. His transformation was disorienting, leading to chaos at Filthy McNasty's club. With Filthy and Silent J's support, he learns to understand and control his werewolf nature. He gets soooo homesick. He's now a loyal member of the club's security team, he chills mostly.
Filthy McNasty, or Phil to his friends: He's an Edenite vampire. No need for blood or fear of sunlight <-but it does make him uncomfortable. His iconic glasses are a staple. I love him, he has a thing for gold and the symbolism of death and ritual (wow guy who can't die obsessed with death?) Money Problems; student debt from past lives keeps him perpetually broke, but he owns a popular nightclub, a supernatural hotspot, Serpent's Eden. No photos allowed – he mysteriously doesn't show up in them. With ties to the mob and other vampires, Phil has connections but plays it lowkey. He partners with Holly Horsely sometimes. His nightclub is a safe haven, with top-notch security. He's kind and cheerful but was he always this way? He doesn't know because vampires may live forever but they fucking forget all about it.
Silent J: left the high-end restaurant world due to its pressures and 'cause he has a commitment to staying true to himself. Found freedom and purpose as the head chef of Serpent's Eden. Gets turned into a Revenant vampire at Serpent's Eden. It's Very fucked up, and it's kinda Phil's fault. Despite his anger and despair, he chooses to leave instead of seeking revenge, couldn't be me. He attempts to enjoy routine activities like cooking and shit but it turns out he can't taste any flavors aside from bitterness :) Lucky for him, his vampire abilities and Legs' demonic powers complement each other, making him a valuable asset in Legs and Night Night's line of work. Loves cats.
Holly Horsely: A freelance journalist with a thirst for truth and an adventurous spirit. Can't get her books published. She believes in facts and reality over fiction. A high school ordeal made her wary of sharing emotions and opinions openly, preferring impartiality. She has a thing about bias, and also about being seen… Holly's curiosity leads her to Filthy McNasty's nightclub, where she discovers the supernatural world. She investigates vampiric societies, often landing in dangerous situations. Her friendship with Tinsley is built on mutual respect, a shared love for coffee and also both being queer. Has a crush on Francesca (who doesn't?).
Francesca Norris: Spy, many nicknames. Ran away from home during her late teenage years. Feels guilty for leaving her little sister behind. Despite emotional barriers, she's always there when needed. She is willing to offer warnings to her friends when she perceives them heading into trouble but won't interfere if they choose to ignore her advice. Cat vibes. Her besties are Ricky and Legs. Ricky calls her Chessie and it could kill meeee, together, they hate brunch. She can switch alliances effortlessly :3c
Banjo McClintock: Tinsley's vivacious and mischievous younger brother. Known for his love of disguises and quirky props like fake mustaches and hats. Had a penchant for collecting random items as a child, now he's collecting shit that's not his lol. A skilled forger who mimicked signatures effortlessly. Despite a seemingly aloof exterior, he's remarkably observant. Lives a nomadic lifestyle, crashing at Tinsley's place when needed. Known for his incredible luck and knack for winning contests. Tries to mostly steal from big chains or the wealthy. Has a deep connection with people from all walks of life. Can't play the banjo. Has a crush on Francesca (again, who doesn't?).
I do wanna say something as if I were getting an award and need to thank some ppl:
@mothman-noises I owe you my life, without you I wouldn't have thought of the brothers AU which turned into this whole fucking elaborate (yet kinda simple?) universe. @capytomamate thank you forever for listening to my unending rambles about this stuff. Thank you @invincible-ironthot for your constant support, thank you @icantwritegood for all that you do, thank you @kirchefuchs for being awesome and to all the bfu mutuals that I didn't tag and the ones that have been gone for a while, I miss you all, I'm back on my bullshit, and I wish you were here
Here they are!! The series of drawings I've been working on for months!
Now, trying to sum them up in a few words (in a reblog) is gonna be impossible because I can (and sometimes do) talk about each of them for hours on end. All you need to know tbh is that more than half of them have mommy issues and dog motifs. They all have something about their names, in a way, and they're in my brain 24/7

Hear me out;
The characters from Buzzfeed Unsolved - or the BFUniverse - have no set era.
Think A Series of Unfortunate Events; no establishing features of the time frame. For those who are curious what I'm proposing by this, it's the idea of having a storyline in which the reader cannot for the life of them figure out when this takes place. Maybe they go into a 50's diner, but most scenes film like a film noir movie. Maybe they use an intercom system and telegrams. Maybe the clothes seem to truly fit the 20's, but it's incredibly progressive (which we admittably and rightfully already do). Essentially, the universe is timeless and impossible to pin-point.
Back to BFU: Ricky Goldsworth and Shane's new Aussie character were made in episodes that take place in the 1930's; C. C. Tinsley was created (technically adapted) in the 40's; McClintock, 1990; Night Night and Legs are in the fucking mafia; other, more obscure characters excluded, because you get the point.
To add onto that, the infamous BFU-established "Asshole, Iowa" was first discussed in the McElroy Q&A, based in the 80's.
Of course, if you're in the fandom you'll likely see a lot of fanart and fanfiction dedicated to the idea of CC and Ricky in either modern times (I'm sure partly for the easier worldbuilding and *cough* shipping) or the Victorian Era (this being for the detective elements).
There's also something just so incredibly Shane and Ryan about the infuriatingly open-endedness of having no established time setting. Half of their humor is being cryptic or frustratingly teasing each other/us (treasure hunt, mannequin on set).
In conclusion, fuck up your BFUniverse worldbuilding. Make it inconsistent to the times. Are we living in the 1700's or last week? Surprise me, confuse me, I beg of you all. Write to confuse... it's what the boys would want.

I was listening to Madonna’s Vogue for an hour and i accidentaly created an au, bear with me.
GoldenRose is a fashion house and brand created and run by Lucy Goldsworth. Everyone knows it, and everyone wants it - except boss of the town’s popular newspaper, Holly Horsely. She doesn’t believe in aura of perfection Goldsworth’s business spreads around; that’s why she sends her best journalist, C.C ‘Detective’ Tinsley, to investigate what’s really going on inside this fashion empire.
Tinsley isn’t a person who cares what they’re wearing, but in the current situation he has to learn all the secrets of fashion mode to blend in - fortunately he has the help of old friend Banjo, who works as the receptionist in GoldenRose (ie. he is constantly on coffee duty), Goldsworth’s mysterious chauffeur Mayor and chief fashion designer Francesca Norris (she’s just curious what distaster will come out of this)
It all complicates when he meets Ricky Goldsworth, son of Lucy and world-wide known supermodel, whose as beautiful as he is snarky. After a while their mutual hatred develop into quite the opposite. Two different worlds collide and not everybody is happy with it...
