I hate the whole concept of jeankasa solely because it's humiliating to jean. he will spend the rest of his life knowing mikasa not only does not chose him but will never love him fully. he spent five years of his life fighting by her side, saved her life twice and she never gave him the time of the day (she didn't had to. that's not what I'm saying at all). it's so infuriating, I felt genuine rage thinking about it lmao

imagine you're Connie or Reiner and seeing they both getting married, how ridiculous would sound. imagine your wife taking your child to the grave of her first love, buried in the scarf he gave her, years and years of her openly yearning for a man who died. imagine how much of an object of mockery he would be socially.

i adore mikasa and she was only 19, she totally deserved a life of bliss and find love again. I just could never believe that she would love jean this way. aaand the anime credits leave absolutely no room for doubt, that man is a 100% jean. I fucking hate it.

33. the last adventure you’ve been on?

ALright buckle up I'm about to ramble

I try to make it a point to explore and do something weird and spontaneous most times i go outside really, usually with a friend just, going through a place we've never been. in the last month, me and a friend or two will go out and just pick up all these unnecessary side quests and get distracted for hours even if it's something weirdly mundane (and probably shouldn't even be defined as an adventure). I need to feel like I'm exploring and doing something new for my enrichment or I will explode.

It's not really an adventure but i remember vividly a couple months ago going out with a friend i haven't seen in ages and we were trying to regroup after a falling out. We went drinking and then at like 1am we just sat outside a museum on the pavement, chatting away and suddenly we saw a fox running around by the gates. again. not really an adventure but it was just a cool unusual moment that sticks in my brain.

TLDR; fuck it, everything can be an adventure if you put enough whimsy into your everyday life

Hello everyone!

I was sorting out some songs to add to some of your guy’s playlists and I ran into an old favorite of mine. The song is called “O Sol e a Lua” and it’s about the sun’s love for the moon and how he wishes to propose to her. However the moon rejects the sun only because if she were to say yes the Sun would explode out of happiness and excitement destroying themselves and all the planets around them. However the moon “rejects” him in a way that doesn’t give the sun a clear answer (saying no would cause everyone to freeze to death due to the suns heartbreak). How eventually in the end the moon either waits for the moon to be ready or the sun moves on. (depending on how you look at the lyrics this can change) anyways sorry for the rant! Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: In this AU gales emotions impact his control on his condition. Accepting and denying his confession both will increase the risk of gale exploding (Kaboom </3 ). So the reader and Gale are in a sad hopeless romantic standstill.

To the best of his recollection, Gale held you in high regard. He admired your courage and heroism during your shared adventures. His heart was filled with pride when he witnessed your selfless deeds, and he was convinced that your tales of bravery would become legendary throughout Faerûn.

Over time, the initial feeling of pride grew into something more. He recalled a moment during a battle when he noticed something strange and unusual. He realized that he wasn't just cheering you on in the fight as he always used to, but he was also admiring the way your hair gracefully clung to your face and the subtle blush on your cheeks. Each tired breath you took made his heart skip a beat in admiration of you. Gods he realized he’s fallen for you.

Days turn it weeks and weeks turn to months and he still can't get you out of his mind, he needs you, to hold you, so see you smile at him and only him. His emotions are only getting stronger day by day and soon enough he knows he should just tell you how he feels. he trusts himself to handle it… He can.. can he? He’s a powerful wizard who’s had multiple pupils through the years, a couple of silly feelings surely wouldn’t hurt…right?

You've noticed Gale's eyes wandering on your figure from time to time. His long, lost stares leave deep holes in your heart. You know better than anyone that this simply can't work out. You've seen it yourself. Curiously, you conjured up a spell that allowed you to see what lay ahead on your journey. However, all you saw was destruction. Your friends were dead, your body burning, and your beloved was gone. It's clear to you that this relationship is not meant to be. Weeks passed, and unsurprisingly, he hadn't given up. He's persistently asked you out, his heart still yearning to be yours. Going beyond mere words, he intensifies his efforts—training rigorously to ease your worries about enemies, assisting in meal preparation to alleviate your stress, and diligently tending to your wounds after battles, ensuring your safety by his side.

Despite your intense desire to have him by your side constantly growing you know you have to shut down any of these emotions. As much as you yearn for him, the harsh reality denies it. You were currently in such deep thought about everything regarding both Gale and your difficult and long journey. You had finally made it out of the shadow-cursed land and had set up camp only a couple miles away from Rivington.

Then he continues to walk off, leaving a small faint trail of sadness behind him.

The moment you were completely alone you crumpled to your knees. Letting tearful sobs escape beneath the moonlight as you fervently prayed to any listening deity, pleading for the salvage of your shattered heart. In your world, Gale is the sun, and your deepest desire was to be his moon. Yet, fate deemed you not even a star in his galaxy.

luna/luka/ruka can see duel monsters spirits. she had a heavy burden placed on her when she was THREE YEARS OLD to protect the world of duel monsters spirits. as if that is enough to put on her shoulders, she's also sickly and oh yeah, they decided to also give a signer mark. she's three. she's on her death bed. she's expected to save two worlds. like this kid literally cannot catch a break. oh yeah, also her parents? they're never around. only person in her life is her twin brother, who is loud and that rubs against her autism in the wrong way. yes, she's autistic. do not argue with me. no i'm serious don't argue with me. lil miss luka has the failure to be diagnosed all weird little autistic girls are subjected. if she was a boy, y'all would see her autism for what it is but that's not the point of this rant. anyway her first time meeting yusei, she didn't care about his criminal mark because his duel monster friends said he's okay and that's good enough for her: the duel monsters said this criminal on her couch is a good guy! therefore acab. this is also the first time an adult has ever treated her like her thoughts and opinions matter, mostly because there was never an adult in her goddamn life in the first place (shout out to her parents for ABANDONING TWO TWELVE YEAR OLDS to their own fuckin devices). can't forget the fortune cup, where lua takes her place at first and LOSES IN THE FIRST ROUND, damaging her professional duel record (not like it matters because the writers decided it didn't matter what luka does after the series ANYWAY so who cares if her record is damaged :) ). she gets dragged in anyway and tortured by a child psychologist - classic weird autistic girl moment. during this she has a vision of the duel monster world and realizes oh yeah this is real, i'm supposed to protect this, and like. CANNOT. CATCH. A SINGLE. BREAK. aki takes an interest in luka because of her powers too! all while divine is a tool to her brother and she's forced to watch divine torture her brother :) awesome stuff. literally. cannot catch a fuckin break. next season her first duel is a loss against some weird kid from the future, and her second duel is against aporia where she literally dies (her brother brings her back to life). she is a character of untapped potential and deserves the world. vote for luka.

Prestasi Akademik

Tadi pas di jalan apa pas di rumah ya… asa kepikiran mau nulis sesuatu. Eh tapi begitu di depan keyboard lupa.

Wow, kalimat di atas itu sangat penuh dengan… entitlement. Betul-betul orang yang entitled aja yang bisa ngomong kaya gitu: yang udah tahu gimana cara networking, dan orang itu mungkin juga memang sudah terlahir di suatu established network, baik dari keluarga atau lingkungan yang udah lumayan “bagus”.

Gimana kalau aku adalah anak dari desa terpencil di luar Pulau Jawa yang ayah-ibuku petani dan kalaupun networking dan bergaul jauh banget, lingkungan jejaringku paling mentok cuma sampai kabupaten kota aja. Itu juga karena ada anaknya kepala desa yang berhasil SEKOLAH TINGGI sampai lulus D3 dan akhirnya keterima jadi PNS di Kantor Bupati.

Itu masih mending. Gimana kalau di desa ini semua orang mikir sama kayak orang itu dan GAK SEKOLAH?? Karena mikirnya “ya gak penting prestasi akademis, yang penting bergaul aja”.

HHHHHHH.

Emosi sendiri ngetiknya (ini masih jam 2pm jadi masih panjang perjalanan shaum aku). Tapi betulan pas baca itu aku yang “HAH. Gimana. Orang ini gak pernah baca kalau pendidikan itu salah satu medium paling ampuh untuk naik kelas ekonomi apa gimana.”

Aku pun bukan salah satu pemuja pendidikan/prestasi akademis yah. Ku salah satu yang percaya: “belajar itu bisa dilakukan di mana aja, gak harus dengan degree”. Dan akupun nggak sepenuhnya kontra dengan komentar si orang itu: ku bisa sampai sini jujur karena network, bukan karena prestasi akademis. Tapi gimana aku bisa punya network yang resourceful ini, jalur masuknya dari prestasi akademis. Aku Alhamdulillah dikasih Allah rejeki untuk bisa bersekolah di sekolah bagus. Ini aku bakalan kayak telepon rusak karena udah berkali-kali ngomong ini, tapi gimana ku bisa sampai di Oxford aja sesederhana network SMA-ku. Kalau aku gak masuk SMA-ku yang dulu itu, gaakan aku punya teman-teman yang lagi ambil PhD duluan di Oxford dengan beasiswa Jardine. Ga akan aku tahu informasi tentang beasiswa ini. Ga akan aku ngebayangin dan mikir “oh bisa ya orang Indo biasa-biasa saja seperti saya ini ambil PhD di Oxford dengan beasiswa”.

Yang paling kutakutin adalah gimana orang-orang (terutama generasi muda aka gen z yang sudah mengkhawatirkan dari defaultnya ini) jadi mikir “ah apa gunanya belajar, ujung-ujungnya yang bakal berguna adalah orang dalam juga”, apalagi setelah melihat tweet orang ini dan juga Jokowi-Gibran. Betul-betul semua yang terjadi belakangan di pemilu kemarin, MK, bansos, impactnya SEGEDE ITU ke… ethical and moral devaluation (jujur ini istilah apa aku ngarang).

Ku sangat khawatir dengan gimana kita sebagai nation udah berusaha naikin skor integritas, semua seleksi udah dibuat se-merit based mungkin: LPDP, seleksi ASN, masuk PTN (ya walaupun in practice masih ada nepotisme di sana-sini, tapi at least effortnya udah ada lah ya). Terus yaudah hancur begitu aja dengan orang-orang rakus dan tamak ini yang abusing their power IN FRONT OF OUR SALAD.

Hhhhhhh. Udah sih gitu aja ranting-nya. Ku awalnya mau bahas hubungan kalau punya “prestasi akademis” akan ningkatin confidence dan bargaining power juga di network tersebut, tapi jadi panjang, beda bahasan soalnya. Intinya, kalau kita pintar dan punya specific set of skills yang orang lain gak punya, skill ini bakal berguna di networking. Jadi gak cuma bisa bergaul luas juga, tapi networknya jadi berguna dan working for us.

Paling gampang, biar gak banding-bandingin orang, ku membandingkan diriku sendiri 2019 pre-Oxford vs 2024. Sekarang ku merasa lebih pede kalau ngomong di forum manapun (termasuk di sosmed) karena aku merasa punya better agency, better credibility. Sekarang, kalau ketemu pejabat aku bisa yang “Boleh, Pak, nanti saya bantu kalau butuh konsultasi dengan saya sebagai expert, tim Bapak bisa hubungi saya aja, ini kontak saya ya Pak.” Dulu mah boro-boro ngomong sama pejabat, opportunity buat ketemu aja dikit banget. Palingan ya nonton beliau aja di depan podium, saya di belakang. Sekarang betulan yang bisa makan semeja bareng, bahas strategi negara bareng (buset siapa saya). Kalau bukan karena “prestasi akademis” yang bikin ku bisa di tempat yang lebih better sehingga network-ku juga lebih bagus, apa dong itu.

Udah itu dulu aja sebelum meledak ini kepala. Sebetulnya masih kesel banget sih. Masih ada part “gimana kalau orangnya socially awkward, punya mental health/disability yang bikin dia gabisa networking conventionally?” dan masih banyak “gimana kalo- gimana kalo” lainnya. Tapi satu hal yang kusadari, terlepas dari keabsurdan debat kusirnya, twitter ini sebetulnya tempat yang sangat bagus untuk thinking exercise. Terutama buat aku yang ternyata lebih menyala dan jalan otak buat nulisnya kalau sifatnya reaktif kayak gini lol.

Yaudah intinya lagi: PENDIDIKAN SETARA FOR ALL. Ku masih percaya sekali pendidikan itu salah satu metode paling efektif untuk mengeluarkan kita dari kemiskinan. Noni for Menteri Pendidikan gaknih (gak deh, takut, si Nadiem udah banyak yang cursing juga karena Merdeka-belajar-nya yang menurutku personally juga terlalu muluk & ideal).

i listened to this one podcast episode in which the guys were analysing avatar: the way of the water, and one of them made the joke that the next volumes would keep on exploring different avatar tribes, and that the next one would be in the desert and that no one wanted that. honestly? im 100% down for it, i dont even care abt plot holes, i just wanna see pretty animals and plants and more eywa lore

Alright im back with a theory that I’m too tired to post in the comment section. (Warning, this is a long “lore” rant)

So we know that this animatic is canon, which provides a deep emotional insight. This is after “upgrade” and “ o sol e a Lua” , so I’ll go over those 2 first.

Upgrade involves Loretta…well upgrading, using some kind of magic in a temple(perhaps maidas?) that “upgrades” her power(??) and makes her go a little manic

O sol e a lua is an animatic with a bit of angst, and details the visual aspect of Gabe and Mari having a strained relationship, with the frame at the end being a tired Mari in the same outfit she has in upgrade.

So now, we can get to trust me not. This animatic is very interesting because now it gives VERBAL confirmation about Gabe and Mari’s increasingly strained relationship. Lines like “here comes the hero complex” from Lori and “I just want to help you!” From Gabe all are bright red waving flags that there is something else going on here. So what is this? It’s simple. Maida’s magic.

A long time ago, me and another theorist made connects to red = Maida. Obvious right? Well it red appears in many places, not just Maida’s magic. It appears on Roman’s glasses, on Maida’s gem(obviously), all things that are well, connected to her. And looking back at the color palettes for blood moon lori(aka what outfit Mari is wearing), there’s red. The gem is ON HER OUTFIT.

so naturally, in the end, Maida is at fault. Maida is pulling the strings, all of them. Hell, even the outfit in “upgrade” is an outfit descendants of Julius wear so that the ghosts believe that they(a female descendant) is Maida.

TL:DR- Maida pulls a lot of strings, even to Mari unknowingly. I’m very curious as to how this will be shown in the comic, and YES, I will look for Easter eggs.

besides being a government name activist, i wish they left out some things in korean and just added an author's note or translator's note (smth like *keikaku means plan). imo it adds to getting immersed (?) in the manhwa and just gives depth to some scenes.

my main gripe is how the ' 형 hyung' is translated to 'bro'. just the honorifics in general, like it gives you a sense of who's close to whom or how they look at their peers. 'bro' just so unserious to me at this point cus it's tied to 'bruh' which connotes something else?

Many Koreans choose to blur the boundary when they interact with older friends they met socially by calling them “hyung”, “unnie”, “oppa” or “noona”. By using these terms, you show your willingness to be informal as if they were your own brothers or sisters. [as said here] [also source: trust me bro bc i used to be a bg stan]

just adding also that jason, brad, & jerry call jake 'hyungnim' rather than 'hyung', a politer word. it's still different from samuel's 'chairman' towards yoojin tho. (not much sure at this part but hyungnim's also common for mob boss or some other informal organization [idk bruh this is literally a rant post]) (lua is exempt from calling big deal members honorifics tho, shes above them shes a girlboss) (jake also have moments of calling sinu 'hyungnim' back when sinu was still big deal boss)
