I heard Sandberg mentioned as a huge back talent by experts when she played for Örebro. She was 17-ish years old then when she signed her first professional contract, she'll turn 20 this year I believe. Haven't followed her closely and the first time I noticed her was during the U19 Euro last year. Saw why the experts had picked up on her potential early on and of course when Häcken bought her from Örebro and she became a regular starter while Lotta Ökvist was loaned to Eskilstuna, you understood there was something there. You also understood it when you learned her signature had been wanted by foreign clubs.

All seemed very promising but you know with young talents they can come and go, be inconsistent in their performances and some of them just fizzles out. And the question remains how will they fare against international opposition on national team senior level, which is a huge step up from club and youth national team level. For Sandberg and Lundkvist we got the answer to that yesterday. Now we just need them to perform consistently for the national team and it's a done deal.

By now I've come to the conclusion when Swedish experts hype young talents up (including foreign talents) it's realistic and well founded opinions based on actual performance. They never overhype players the way the English do. Bennison was chosen the biggest talent in the world. Kafaji was chosen 11th biggest talent in the world last year despite she broke her leg the first thing she did in a pre season friendly and thus couldn't play the U19 Euro. Duljan was signed by Juventus. Vangsgaard was signed by Psg. Pernille, Magda, Zecira, JRK, Mandy, Nattis, Stina, Frido etc were all talked about long before they'd taken the step abroad.

Yea both anna and hanna are really promising young players and tbh the hype is justified imo. Their still so young so really next few years in nt context is getting them used to the environment and team and building up consistency

Jag tog en kort snackis med henne efter dagens match mot Åland United och undrade varför hon kom tillbaka till sin gamla klubb och vad hon förväntar sig av säsongen som stundar. Även detta på engelska så att vi når ut med Damallsvenskan långt utanför Sveriges gränser.
