LOST CAT - PEMBROKE, NC

Hello all,

different post than normal.

My beloved cat, Salem, got scared and slipped her harness February 7th, 2023, at roughly 10:30 pm - 11 pm, in Pembroke, NC.

As of June 12th, Salem is still missing. I have updated her pictures here as well.

I have done every possible thing to locate her: shelter checks, drive-arounds, mail-out cards, posters around town, facebook/insta ads, Snapchat, Apartment emails, door-to-door, ground search, luring, etc. If you can think it then I have done it or tried to do it.

It also means that at this time I am struggling financially. Money is already tight and god forbid cost of living stop going up, especially as I live in the south which seems to be on fire recently with a lot of regressive laws and costs. On top of that, if you recall my truck from September that gave out on me, it has begun to again, sapping most of my money and leaving me high-and-dry.

Financially the world sucks and I need surgery soon most likely - this is not the first one, it is the fourth which is well overdue. Does anyone know Murphy's Law? "Anything that can go wrong will." Yeah, well, Murphy can bite me.

I am in a financial abyss, so any and all help is appreciated. Times are hard for everyone, and god this sucks, but I haven't heard back from the other jobs I have been applying too and there is only so long that you can make it on a single job with rent and bills taking everything except a few dollars a month.

It’s been almost a month and still no sign of Thai tea, to cope with him missing, I made aesop and I a weighted stuffed animal of Thai tea as a placeholder in the meantime.

I cried after making this, it’s been hard and I’ve been in a slump since his disappearance.

Still hoping he comes around….maybe his microchip will bring him back….

He’s still missing with it being over 3 months now, I haven’t given up on looking for him

A Christmas Miracle-Chapter 4

Summary: After her last two breakups, Lena doesn't think there is love out there for her. However, will Ruby's wish to Santa make Lena a believer in miracles?

Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3

Kara and Lena stared at each other like deer caught in headlights in complete silence for several minutes. It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. Kara felt a great deal of emotions. She was excited to see Lena. She had been thinking of the raven-haired beauty all day. However, she was scared out of her mind. 

What do I say to her? It was so messed up the way we left things last time with the shoot-out.

However, a more mortifying thought came to Kara as she slowly looked down at the keys in her hand. 

I have her keys in my hands. How do I explain that? I could tell her that Santa wanted me to find her after the mugging to make sure she got this. Yeah, that sounds good….or does it? What if she doesn’t believe Santa sent me? What if she thinks I have ill intention….

As Kara spiraled, Streaky looked up at his owner with mild amusement. He looked over to Lena who was in a similar state. Streaky shook his head and wiggled out of Kara’s arm, jotted over to Lena, started to purr loudly, and rubbed against her leg. 

Suddenly, both women were shaken out of their inner turmoil and noticed their surroundings. 

“Streaky, don’t do that!” shrilled Kara as she started to jog over to Lena and the cat. 

Lena chuckled as she picked up Streaky and started to cuddle with him. Lena looked up at Kara with a smile which caused Kara to stop dead in her tracks and blush. 

She looks so pretty when she smiles. 

Lena blushed as she looked down at Streaky and said, “Don’t be mad at Streaky. He is just what I need after the day I had.”

Kara frowned and asked. “Are you okay?”

Lena tried to chuckle, quickly wiped a tear from her face, and said, “Nothing that a bottle of scotch couldn’t cure.”

Kara came closer and pressed her hand on Lena’s shoulder which caused her to blush. 

“I know I am not scotch, but I would be happy to lend an ear to listen.”

Lena looked at Kara conflicted and asked, “Are you sure? I don’t want to derail any plans you have.”

Kara chuckled and said, “Streaky and I don’t have any set plans.”

Streaky looked up at Kara with narrow eyes, ears flattened downward, and purred loudly.

Kara rolled her eyes and said sarcastically, “Food will be included in whatever we do Streaky.”

Streaky purred happily as he pounced back into Kara’s arm.

Lena chuckled and said, “If you guys are sure, I would enjoy the company.” 

Kara beamed and said, “If you like, we can go to my apartment, and I can brew us some coffee.”

Lena smiled and said, “That sounds perfect. I can drive us.” Lena smirked at Kara and said, “As long as you can hand back the keys, which I am curious about how you ended up with by the way.”

Kara chuckled hesitantly and said, “It’s a long story. The short version is that Santa sent me in your direction.”

Lena looked at Kara baffled.

Kara looked at Lena mortified and exclaimed, “I know how it sounds, but it’s true! I was over at the park and….”

Lena stared at her hesitantly for a moment.

It can’t be the same Santa, can it?

Lena quickly shook her head, slightly smiled, and said, “No, it just sounds really eventful, and I would love to hear more about it on the way back to your place. Let’s head out.”

Kara smiled brightly and said, “I would love that.”

Streaky purred loudly and rubbed up against Kara’s face. 

Lena chuckled and said, “It looks like Streaky agrees too.”

Kara chuckled and said, “Streaky is just happy that he is about to be fed.”

Streaky nodded in agreement. 

Lena cackled as she, Kara, and Streaky got in the car and drove off.

My Cat Casserole has gone missing.

I'm at a level of hysterics that at a point in history had women condemned to lobotomies.

This cat is my SON for all intents and purposes. I raised him from a kitten, he sleeps with me at NIGHT, I am his MOTHER and he's been missing as far as I've been aware for 5 hours-going on 6. I woke up this morning to get ready for work I couldn't find him-usually he's hiding somewhere cause he's like that and I got home less than an hour ago to find he's still been missing.

I'm just asking ya'll to keep him in your thoughts until we find him. Just....good thoughts. I don't believe in the thoughts and prayers bullshit because I believe direct immediate action is the correct response. but it's nearly 9pm at night. I've spent two hours running around the yard calling for him in hopes he responds to my voice. I have reason to fear our outside cat, Buster Jones, may have chased him off if he did get stuck outside the house. Tomorrow the second the sun is up and he's not returned, a more through search by asking neighbors and looking in their yards.

He can't have gone far. Everytime he has gotten out of the house, he has a panic attack and tries to run back in, he's an over weight orange blimp who has needed to be taken care of since day one of his life.

Just.

Think about him. Pray he's somewhere safe and warm and he can make it home tomorrow somehow.

Lost My Best Friend, Mommy's Princess

So for some yall know real life outside of tumblr has been a struggle for me, this is because I have had a sick cat. She was 16 years old and had diabetes and cancer. Yesterday at 2:30pm we made the choice to put her down because she was struggling to stay alive in alot of pain. She and dropped off alot of weight and the tumor on her stomach weighed more than she did. She was eating but still losing weight, she had started to gasp for breath her lungs were shutting down and the most humane thing I could do for mommys princess was help relieve her pain. I will try to write and do videos as I can because it does help me keep my mind occupied just please know I am walking around with a broken heart and struggling to grieve so thank you for all who follow me please don't give up on me I will push through sharing as I can. Anyways this is a picture of my little girl who is now in heaven.

Sorry I haven’t been feeling like doing much work since our cats disappearance we have been so bereaved that I don’t know what to do.

I just wanna know he’s ok. But I’m worried and depressed. Trying to stay active, but it’s been rough.

The real tea is there’s days where I barely feel like I can do it anymore. Losing my dog was one thing ( she lived to be about 12 and had liver cancer) but then my cat who was young and healthy and only five years old really hurt, when I was expecting him to live even longer.

I was all alone when I found him, suddenly all stiff and not moving in the morning. It was completely quiet and everyone else was out the house. Apparently he died in the middle of the night :( it’s confusing and sad because just a few hours earlier, he was completely normal and fine.

My mom thinks he had a heart attack or a brain aneurysm maybe. I miss him so much.

In December 2023, I was forced to flee my home in Gaza due to the relentless bombing that left me with no choice but to escape in search of safety. In a moment of fear and panic, I left my home with only the clothes on my back. I had no time or means to take any of my belongings, not even the most precious ones... my cat and her four kittens.

I left them behind in the home that was once a warm haven for them and for all of us. They were a part of my family, little souls I cared for and loved. Every night after we fled, my thoughts were with them. I kept wondering if they were okay, if they found shelter to keep them safe, if they managed to survive.

Days passed, and the ache in my heart grew, until finally, a month later, I was able to return home. I returned with hope, but what I found was emptiness. There was no trace of them, neither the mother cat nor her kittens. It felt as though a part of me had vanished, lost along with those innocent lives.

My home was once a place filled with life and warmth, but now it reflects nothing but loss and absence. Fleeing was not just about leaving the place I grew up in; it was about leaving behind a piece of my heart and soul. The pain I feel is beyond words, but it speaks to a loss that cannot be replaced.

Found this poor thing roaming about my condo complex. I've decided to feed it once a day in the morning since I can't take it in (I already have three and they're not very friendly) and the shelter is full.

After Lunar New Year weekend I'll contact the community cat welfare group and ask them to help take the cat for treatment, it looks way too malnourished to be walking around.
