boys! it's my birthday! what would you cook up for a birthday boy eager to eat whatever some handsome bots can whip up? no dietary restrictions, anything the wonderful chefs can think of :D
ough happy belated birthday, Bash!
the boys have prepared a birthday meal for you:
Tumblr media
some details on the menu:
the longevity noodles egg noodles that are commonly eaten in Chinese cuisine for celebrations and birthdays. it's often called "birthday noodles" for that reason. they are long noodles to symbolize a long life, so it's recommended to not cut them shorter. they are often served with eggs, that symbolize birth. they can be eaten in soup or stir fried or with a sauce.
the fairy french toast is a fusion of Australian fairy bread (white bread spread with butter/margarine and covered with colourful, round sprinkles) and Hong Kong style french toast (two egg-fried toasts, sandwiching a sweet filling like peanut butter, jam, condensed milk, etc.) fairy bread is a common treat at children's parties, and french toast is a staple at Hong Kong cafes.
the longevity peach ice cream float is a peach soda topped with peach soft-serve ice cream and a mini longevity peach bun. longevity peach buns are based off the peaches of immortality in Chinese mythology. the buns are served at birthdays (especially for the elderly) and are usually filled with lotus paste or red bean paste.

Tools and Ingredients to keep on hand; Kitchen Witchcraft Elevated Pt. 2
Tumblr media
Alright time for Part 2, Ingredients! Again, this is my person preference, and it's like my third time trying to write this out so bear with me. These are things I tend to keep on hand, and this list is not going to just include Salt, Pepper, Garlic; You got that already. I hope. If you're looking for info on Tools, check out Part 1. Onions: I keep a bowl of onions on one of my shelves in my kitchen. I find they keep better outside of the fridge, and I can easily see when I'm running low. Onions have strong protective and good cleansing properties so I tend to add them to my pot or pan before adding any other food. I also like to let them caramelize to get that transformative element.
Lemons: Lemons are great to use in so many dishes, both sweet and savory. You can zest the peel for it's oils and fragrance. You can squeeze the lemon for it's juice and acid. They're associated with beauty, longevity, positivity, mental clarity, cleansing; ect. One of the great things about lemons is thanks to their peel, you can leave them out at room temperature for long periods of time, so long at the peel is unbroken. So if you need to make space in your fridge, pull out your lemons.
Cinnamon Sticks: Okay so every witch has ground cinnamon. It's one of the easiest and cheapest spices to get. It's in every beginner box of witchy herbs. And it that's because it's absolutely fantastic to use. The problem with cooking, however, ground cinnamon isn't always the best option. The power is very fine, but also gritty. So it can be hard to strain out if you are just wanting to infuse some cinnamon. It's why I keep sticks on hand. They're also great for seasonal garlands and bundles.
Italian Seasoning: Rosemary, Thyme, Basil and Oregano. That is what's in Italian seasoning. Do I have these seasonings separate? Yes I do. And there are other seasonings in there like Marjoram, Summer Savory, Sage, Parsley; it varies a little from brand to brand. But if I'm in a rush, I can grab that Italian seasoning to make my food tasty and include one (or all) of the spice correlation properties. Quick note; if you're buying yours, check the ingredients. It should list what spices it's using. I bought a big thing of "Italliano" once without checking and my food was just not emotionally the same. I checked the ingredients and is was mostly dried bell peppers and salt.
Cayenne: It's cheap, spicy, and banishes bad shit. That's all I ask of it.
Vinegar: This may seem odd since vinegar is largely associated with souring spells and Hexes. But it also has strong cleansing an protecting properties too. You can also use it as a preventative property to deture people from asking uncomfortable questions or bringing up touchy topics. But vinegar is also an important tool in the culinary world. A lot of the time, if you taste your food and it tastes flat or bland, even with lots of seasonings, a little acid and brighten it up. Sure you can use lemon juice, but sometime you just need a tsp, and opening a jar of vinegar is easier than juicing a lemon. Vinegar is a key component in many sauces and marinades. Not to mention being used in pickling. Then they are a lot of uses outside cooking, like help with cleaning. My MIL's favorite way to wash windows is still spray with white vinegar and wipe with newspapers.
Canned Milk: So we all keep some kind of milk in the fridge. Dairy milk, Oat milk, Almond Milk, Soy Milk, lots of wonderful kinds of milk. So why keep canned milk? Well, canned milk tends to be thicker and creamery than regular fridge milks. Yes, I can go out and get cream, but it's often cheaper and easier to just use some canned milk I have laying around. Plus, sometimes cream is too rich for what I want. The three main kinds of canned milk I keep on hand are Evaporated Milk, Sweet and Condensed Milk, and Coconut Milk. If you drink only dairy milk, I recommend keeping at lest one can of coconut milk on hand too. In case one day you find yourself cooking for someone who can't have dairy milk.
Soy Sauce: This is a great, inexpensive flavor enhancer that I add to soups, curries, and meats. I buy it in bulk, and I always get more before I run out. Because of it's dark color, and it's made from soy, it has strong protection and banishing properties for me.
Cumin: This is a weird one for me. I go through waves of using cumin and not using cumin. I'll use it for every other meal one month, then not touch it again for another month. So, to preserve it's flavor and aroma, I buy whole cumin seeds, and crush them as I need them. But I like keeping cumin on hand since many recipes online will include cumin in their spices.
And that's all I got for now. If I think of more stuff later, maybe I'll make a part 3

Thank you for all the tips so far. Will look into the recommended videos next.
So far from what I gathered is to definitely try out different sweetened condensed milk brands. It’s what I noticed too. The one they use is much whiter than the one I can get in german supermarkets and also has black dots in it, like there is vanilla in there. Will start with longevity first since it’s the most popular asian brand.
Like I said I tried different coffee making styles. Machine, filter, press, phin, hot and cold. But what I see is that cold brew has various alternative ways to make it which can influence the taste immensely, which I haven’t noticed before and that is smth I def will look into.
Also the trung nguyen brand offers beans and grinded coffee in germany. I tried both. Can’t seem to taste a difference. Though I will look into it if there is a clear preference in asia.
Still trying to successfully replicate the taste of vietnamese iced coffee and still failing.
I crave it since I tried it in my local viet restaurant for the first time. I almost always order one when eating there. But they‘re getting more expensive so I am trying to replicate it so I can also enjoy them at home and save some money. But I can’t seem to get it right. I got the typical press (edit: and phin filter) to brew the coffee and got the trung nguyen beans, got the sweetened condensed milk and tried various recipes…and it always tastes the same…not good. Viet coffee tastes almost chocolatey and has in general a very unique taste. But no matter how and how hot I brew it it tastes sour and meh (or it tastes like ?rum? for some reason?) just like usual filter coffee (which also makes me think why I need to make the press method…looks like I can skip that).
Coffee almost always tastes like this to me so this is why I was so positively surprised by viet iced coffee. Now I kinda think that maybe they use some kind of instant brand used in vietnam and not the coffee bean brand.
Are there some coffee enthusiasts out here that know the trick?

WITCHES PUMPKIN PIE 🥧
Angel’s Witchy Tip: When making pie crust, substitute the water for full moon water for added witchy benefits!
Pumpkin is a classic ingredient during the fall season, with good reason too. But did you know pumpkin has a long history behind it full of prosperity and good fortune?
Pumpkin is associated with the moon, and the goddess of water. It is great to use alone with lunar, love, prosperity, and wish magick.
They possess health benefits of a vast variety including maintaining healthy blood glucose levels, rich in antioxidants, helps with immunity, possess lots of minerals and vitamins, reduces cholesterol, and altogether is a tasty health choice.
Ingredients
1 empty uncooked pie shell (9 inches deep dish)
15 oz (1 can) pumpkin purée
good fortune, lunar connections, prosperity, femininity, connection to zodiac cancer, granting wishes, protection, warding, working with the dead, luck, and lust.
1 cup sugar
love, luck, sweetening the spell, attract desired outcomes, luck, and wealth.
1/4 cup maple syrup
balance, promise, love, longevity, money, abundance, and success.

Two pinches of sea salt
Protection, cleansing, warding negative energy, protection against spirits and the dead.
Directions
At the bottom of your prepared pie crust, carve any sigil you like. Here is one I like to use frequently from sigilathenaeum’s tumblr.
Tumblr media
Preheat your oven to 425ºF.
Beat your eggs on medium speed and then incorporate your pumpkin puree, maple syrup, honey, evaporated milk, and condensed milk. Mix all of your spices, salt, and sugar in a small bowl. Stir in your spices gently, and pour into your pie crust.
Bake for 15 minutes for the shell to crisp, then drop the oven temperature to 350ºF and continue baking for another 40-50 minutes. If your crust starts to brown too much cover it with foil and continue baking. When it is done, it should no longer be giggly in the center and should be firm.
When it is done, let cool to room temperature (About 2-3 hours) before serving. Store in fridge with plastic wrap or foil.

🌸 Witchy Cheesecake Recipe 🌸
☽⦁──────── ⦁⧊⦁ ────────⦁☾
Tumblr media
☽⦁──────── ⦁⧊⦁ ────────⦁☾
I made my first cheesecake today and decided to share the recipe! I am not a kitchen witch, but I've been making a lot more food lately and I'm getting into it, so who knows (:
☽⦁──────── ⦁⧊⦁ ────────⦁☾
Ingredients
250g cream cheese
Half a can of condensed milk (small)
Half a pack of biscuits of your choice
Half a lemon
1/2 cup of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Edible flowers (optional)
☽⦁──────── ⦁⧊⦁ ────────⦁☾
Magickal Properties Of Ingredients
Cheese : grounding, healing, joy, things coming to fruition
Sugar / milk (condensed milk) : love, nurturing, spirituality
Cookies : (in general) nurturing, love
Lemon : faithfulness, friendship, happiness, longevity, love, marriage
Butter : smoothing relationships, spirituality, tenacity
Vanilla : joy, love, luck, lust, mental powers
☽⦁──────── ⦁⧊⦁ ────────⦁☾
Recipe
Melt the butter, crush the biscuits and make a base for the cake
Juice the lemon and mix this with the cream cheese, condensed milk and vanilla extract
Wisk until it forms a loose paste and add to the base
Grate the lemon peel and add it to the top of the cake, along with your flowers for decoration
Place it in the refrigerator for 3 hours and serve
☽⦁──────── ⦁⧊⦁ ────────⦁☾
Extra Notes
This is a vegetarian recipe, therefore the cake will be a bit flimsy and should rather be served as a dessert or in seperate bowls.
If you don't mind gelatine, you can add that for more firmness. There is also vegan gelatine available, but I did not have access to it.
Don't be scared to tweak the recipe! If you prefer it sweeter, add more condensed milk and if you prefer it more sour, add more lemon.
I mostly eat according to a vegan diet, but every now and then I go vegetarian, especially when it comes to cake. If you are 100% vegan, I'm sure there are other recipes online for you to use.

How to get the most out of your grocery hauls *NEW*
Hey guys! After looking through my popular posts, I realized that my grocery hauls and my “How to” tips were the highest out of all of my posts. I reread the “How to” and came to the conclusion that it needed to be reworked. I hope you enjoy the newly updated version! 1/31/20, 2/1/20
💖 Canned foods are the best way to maintain diversity and longevity to your pantry. There are soups, vegetables, fruits and even some meats. The expiration dates are usually 6mo/1 year if kept in optimal conditions. Different size cans hold different serving sizes.
TIP- Any canned food, usually soups that read “Condensed” will be a smaller can size with bigger serving sizes. (Easier to lift). The reason being is that, the can holds the main ingredients and you add in the water yourself.
💖 Frozen vegetable/fruits in bags. These are usually in big bags, and hold a decent amount of serving sizes. The bonus of frozen veg/fruits is that they last a very long time in your freezer, as compared to fresh veg/fruit that will go stale within a week. These last anywhere between 3-6mo.
💖 Lift individual ingredients, like flour, sugar, spices, bread, (rice!), butter, milk and cheese. These will stay a long time in your pantry, and provide basic ingredients for simple foods to be cooked at home.
TIP- Adding a small bit of flour to some soups will thicken the consistency, if the flavor profile changes too much add back in water or alternatively milk to thin it out.
💖 Lift seasonings, these can be already powdered seasonings or fresh ginger, and garlic. They are very small and easy to conceal even without a bag. All the food in the world still needs to taste good!
TIP- Fresh ginger and garlic lasts a very long time just sitting around, 1-4mo.
💖 If you are going to lift fresh veg/fruits, know when you are going to eat them within the week. EX: If you’re waiting to make guacamole on Sunday and it’s currently Monday. Lift 3 unripe avocados, and when Sunday rolls around, they will be ripe and ready. Do not waste your fresh ingredients because of spoiling!
TIP- Keep in mind that some veg/fruits spoil in different temperatures at different rates. Be careful where you place them after you’re home.
💖 Lift hard items in bulk. EX:If you have a hard time lifting cereal, go one day extra to another supermarket and grab them at once. This will save you the hassle of only grabbing one box when you can go another day and get more.
TIP- For the love of god, please lift cereal containers! They can make cereal last for months, instead of getting stale in a week! Even if you buy them, they are NOT expensive and will save you money in the long run. Please trust me!
💖Wait to lift junk, until your pantry is filled with essentials. You will be much happier with filling, healthier foods in your pantry rather than chips you’ll eat in one day.
💖 Lift from the outer perimeter of the supermarket, these will often be the freshest ingredients. Also look down to the bottom of store shelves for cheaper/better items. Companies pay a lot of money for the placement of their products to be at eye level.
💖 Know what to lift before you actually go. A simple grocery list with ingredients and scheduled recipes throughout the week will keep you in order.
There are many different methods to lifting, but the one that works the most in supermarkets is the “walkout” and “reusable bag” methods. They are very explanatory and can be easily searched. Make sure to switch up your supermarket with other locations, as well as times to make sure you will not get caught. A common rule of thumb is to lift from stores further away from your home. This is Incase you go to actually buy something and get recognized. I will of course update with more information as time goes on! I hope my updated version was more information and interesting this time around :)
Feast my angels! Stay Safe!

A Hometown of Memories, a Dracut, Massachusetts Review
Dracut, Massachusetts is a tucked away town in Massachusetts, where everyone knows everyone. I fondly remember driving home from school with my friends, and we would count how many farms we passed while on the way to my house. As a life-long resident of Dracut, I can write with confidence that I am able to give a sufficient review of my hometown. A small town, with just over 30,000 residents, Dracut is north of Lowell, MA, and south of Nashua, NH, and is a part of Middlesex County. Dracut is not known for its nightlife or over-the-top entertainment features, but it provides residents and visitors with a relaxing and quiet place to spend time in. Dracut is a town that is developing in infrastructure and attractions, which likely will increase the desire of young families to move here. A wholesome place to raise a family is often why one settles in Dracut, and this contributes to the growing number of children in the community. There is also an increased elderly population in Dracut, made up of retired adults and older farmers, for which Dracut is also well-known. As the population has increased, the farmland has in turn decreased, though Dracut is still a “Right-to-Farm” community. This essentially means that farming practices are welcomed in the community, therefore leading to increased farmland, and it is not uncommon to see a tractor or other farm vehicle driving in front of your car on one of Dracut’s roads.
Dracut is home to some of the more well-known farms in Middlesex County. The most popular is undoubtedly Shaw Farm, a local dairy farm that has been in the community for over 100 years. This longevity is a common theme in Dracut, as many farms have been passed from generation to generation in a family. The Shaws own a dairy farm, a yearly general store and ice cream stand, and a yearly breakfast and lunch restaurant. The dairy farm, general store, and ice cream stand are located in the southern part of town, right before Dracut High School, while the restaurant is located on the northern side of town, closer to my home. The dairy farm and ice cream stand have expanded over the years, yet still offer a traditional, storybook image of a dairy farm. On summer days, the cows graze the fields that border the road, and when it is warm outside, you can smell the manure long before you can see the farm. Shaw Farm is renowned for their chocolate milk, which is thick and creamy, with an almost milkshake-like consistency. This milk and other products are delivered to surrounding farms, and can be considered Dracut’s most famous product.
Another local attraction is Ogonowski Farm, owned by Jim Ogonowski. The Ogonowski name is another family that have been Dracut residents for generations. The name achieved notable national recognition with the death of John Ogonowski, Dracut resident and pilot of American Airlines Flight 11 that was hijacked and crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Ogonowski Farm and the town of Dracut have a number of monuments honoring John Ogonowski throughout the town, and the name is viewed with honor and respect. Ogonowski Farm is known for its fall sale of chrysanthemums, pumpkins, cornstalks, and hay bales that make festive fall decorations. The shop is located on the central road in Dracut, Broadway Road, allowing for easy accessibility from all sides of town. The storefront in the fall is a beautiful photo opportunity, as the mums bloom in vibrant shades of red, yellow, white, and purple, and the wagons of pumpkins surrounded by hay bales are a delight for children to sort through and select.
In terms of restaurants, Dracut offers a variety of Chinese, Italian, pub-style, and pizza restaurants, with one high-end Italian restaurant and function hall, that is located on Dracut’s golf course and country club. A majority of the restaurants are inexpensive and provide food items that range in quality, with a number of townie favorites having emerged throughout their existence.
One is Brothers Pizza, which was newly renovated in the past year, and provides a great environment for pub food, a bar, and a local gathering spot to watch a game or enjoy a meal with family and friends. I personally remember attending their $5 burger nights with my friends on Tuesdays in high school, and eating post-soccer practice meals with my team here, as the staff was always accommodating to children.
Mama’s is an Italian classic. Albeit having a dated design and decor, the restaurant provides great value for the price and size of a dish, as well as the best chicken parmesan in town. My family still frequents this restaurant, and swears by their bread, which I will have to agree, is also the best in town.
Yujo is a popular sushi restaurant, offering hearty and quality rolls, as well as half-price rolls on both Wednesdays and Sundays. I was introduced to this restaurant by my best friend, whose family frequents the establishment so often that they are asked “the usual table?” whenever they arrive.
Family Pizza is a small shop on Lakeview Avenue that is a hotspot for a place to eat after a high school event or after school. In fact, I attended grade school and played both soccer and basketball with the owner’s son, so they are another well-known name in the community. I, and many other former Dracut students, have fond memories of walking across the street from the Dracut schools to Family to grab a “two-slice-all-set,” which is two slices of hot cheese pizza and a drink for a discounted price.
And finally, the higher end restaurant is Grazie, an Italian-styled restaurant located directly bordering the town’s golf course, Four Oaks, which offers family-style seating, along with higher-class seating near a bar. Grazie may be a newer restaurant in the community, but it brought a welcome change as the community’s infrastructure and image have begun to develop in recent years.
Dracut High School was newly renovated in 2013, updating a school that was both outdated and ill-equipped to serve students. The education system is not known for being fantastic in Dracut, and I personally only attended public schooling in Dracut until high school, but the technological advancements and updates the school system has made cannot be ignored. Dracut is currently constructing new fields in the school plaza, where an elementary, junior high school, and the high school are located. Upon the project’s completion, there will be a new turf football field, soccer field, and track and field area for students and residents to take advantage of.
The Dracut school complex is mainly condensed in one area surrounding the high school in the southern part of town. This plaza offers an elementary school, middle school (grades 5 and 6), junior high school (grades 7 and 8), and high school. Dracut has three operating elementary schools, and I attended the one on the northern side of town, Campbell Elementary School. I have some of my fondest memories attending the K-4th grades here, and still occasionally visit due to the basketball courts behind the school, referred to fondly as “the courts.” Campbell School offers four basketball courts, where summer basketball leagues are held, which I was a yearly participant in. Furthermore, the Campbell has not one, but two, playgrounds, and a baseball field. Growing up, these made for fantastic outdoor recesses, and I know students are still taking advantage of the facilities Campbell has today.
As I explained earlier, everyone in Dracut knows everyone. It’s no surprise if you see your kindergarten teacher in line at Shaw Farm, or see a friend from church walking on the street. Dracut does not have a legitimate “town center,” and I live on the northern side of the town, while more business areas and schools occupy the southern side. My side of Dracut occupies a majority of the farming area that Dracut is known for, albeit not the most famous farm in town in Shaw Farm. As Dracut has become more modern, the community has shown no opposition to the changes, as long as the farmland remains to a large extent. Dracut has built a new health center in the middle of town in the past two years, that borders an assisted living facility that was built not long after. My own grandparents moved into an over 60 community in Dracut in the past year after living in Billerica, Massachusetts for over 40 years, and were welcomed with open arms. Dracut is a town of tradition, but they have also demonstrated a willingness to change and grow, as long as the locals are not asked to remove what they value from the community. A Dracut resident’s home is their sanctuary, a place to relax, yet also remain connected towards what they value in the community.
While not the flashiest of towns to grow up in, Dracut offers an experience that not many in 2020 can say that they are growing up with, a farm-centered and close-knit community. The town is quiet, and most of the residents know each other, but Dracut offers much in terms of comfort, relaxation, and fellowship. Furthermore, Dracut borders bigger towns and cities, making for easy access to events geared towards bigger thrill-seekers. But honestly, who can forget the Shaw Farm chocolate milk? You’ll want to visit Dracut for that alone!

Jet has been used as a protective stone in life’s physical journeys. It’s known as a traveler’s amulet, and the wives of sailors often burnt it to protect their husbands while they were at sea. Jet has been known historically, to also protect from scorpions and snake bites, especially when the stone is worn over the heart. Jet has been used to help soothe the pain of both a broken heart due to separation or the loss or death of a relative or loved one. In the past, this protection stone has been used to ward against enemies, evil spirits, witchcraft and harmful magic spells.
8. Agate Eye:
Properties: The protective eye stone, is a spectacular variety of agate, sometimes onyx, sardonyx or “cryptocrystalline quartz” containing layers of carnelian! This is considered a stone of virtue allowing us to find the sheer delight in living. It is infamous for bringing stability and long-lasting happiness to life partners, marriage and live in relationships! Used to enhance clear choices by limiting hesitation and therefore providing courage and protection to its wearer. This is a great stone to grid the home with in order to protect against crime and the “evil eye”.
9. Hag Stone:
Properties: The infamous hag stone has occupied myth and “legends” for centuries. Used by farmers, people seeking protection and “magickal” minded people, hag stones are stones that have a naturally occurring hole inside them. Often discovered in fields or along coastal beaches, lakes or streams. These holes occur from the elements beating down upon them over many years. These stones were believed to be able to protect cattle, their milk, and people from witches. These stones are found in different parts of the world. Hag stones represent a magical time when these rocks were used for protection, fertility, good luck, and safety.
Of course there is a plethora of other stones and crystals that have protection properties or specific roles in spiritual work, I am merely highlighting nine of the most widely used throughout time and their historical background. Let me know if you want me to delve further into protection patterns and other uses for shielding in Light Work.
And as always, Blessings to you all.

Be U, 557 N Hoover St., Los Angeles (East Hollywood), CA 90004
Tumblr media
Be U opened earlier this year in a gritty but up & coming part of East Hollywood. There aren’t many banh mi options in the area. Be U is female-owned and specializes in Vietnamese street food and comfort food. They have small bites, salads, banh mi with your choice of protein/veg ($7.50), rice noodle plates, porridge, and drinks. Protein options: lemongrass chicken, lemongrass pork, lemongrass angus beef, lemongrass tofu, seared oyster mushrooms & avocado.
Braised & caramelized pork & eggs rice plate ($10.50): Caramelized pork belly and eggs, pickled mustard greens served over Jasmine rice, garnished with scallions. I wasn’t expecting something so brothy – more like soup than stew. Cubes of fatty pork belly are braised in caramel sauce and fish sauce. The eggs are hard-boiled. I thought it would be a dry dish with fried eggs (and runny yolks). Anyway, the broth was too salty. The pork, eggs, and pickled mustard greens were sweet, so that helped. The pork was tough though the pieces were very fatty. The fat was the best part.
Vietnamese iced coffee ($3.50): Slow-dripped Café Du Monde coffee with Longevity Brand sweetened condensed milk served over ice. Strong, not too sweet – very good.
It’s a small place with takeout only – order at the window and they’ll call your name.
Online ordering is available.
3 out of 5 stars.
