Rule One.
The feminine energy respects itself when it’s protected! Do not allow people into your spirit, your vortex, your world, your space, your heart, your life, your mind and lastly your body that disrespects, devalues and breaks the boundaries you set for yourself. Dismissal of such behaviour should be automatic!

January 26th 2024 - Today was a SPECIAL day because me and my friends went to the Persona 3 Reload Pop-up Restaurant at Ramen Yokocho and got one of EVERYTHING and loved EVERY bit of it! We were overjoyed, this was an incredible experience that we all got to share!
I ordered an Aigis Set Menu because I Can Never Be Normal About This AroAce Headcanoned Robot Girl Ever and got an amazing burger and matcha ice cream with dorayaki. The drink that came along with it was amazing too!
We also got to keep the little food mats as posters which means I now have THREE Persona 3 Reload posters in my room. Can you tell I can’t wait for this game yet??
If you’re in London and love Persona like me you must go to Ramen Yokocho for this! It was absolutely worth my time and everyone at the restaurant was awesome! The promo goes on until the end of March I think and I definitely want to go back there soon!

LONDON, LATELY - WHERE TO EAT
Its been a while since we last chatted here and I can't believe the year is already coming to an end in a couple of weeks - me and you same. Thought I'd compile some of my recent favourite spots around the city, especially since there are so many travelling to London around this time of the year and it is always a question I get on where to go, what to see and what to eat. I'll break down this segment in two different posts to not make it so lengthy.
So here it is; London lately from the diary of a twenty seven year old girlie girl.
Where To Eat | Restaurants:
Ramo - A Japanese-Filipino ramen spot in the middle of Soho. Not one to usually go for ramen but this hits the spot with a balance of flavours, comfort and spice. Try the Pandesal Garlic Bread for starters.
Fallow - Definitely one of the best spots we went to this year. Straight forward British food menu with a modern, extremely flavourful take. I loved the corn ribs, mushroom parfait, cod's head and veggie burger.
Roe - A sister to Fallow located in Canary Wharf. Similar menu but with a different appeal and ambience - so amazing.
Broadway Market - Our top most visited market this year. We would go at least every two weeks on a Saturday because that is when the good food stalls are out. We've got our standard stalls that we love - Frenchie for Ashwyn's duck burger and fries and for me it is actually the tiny Koya hut tucked in between the market. Koya for their udon bowls and it is extremely comforting on a cold day especially. We recently discovered Benny's, a family own ice cream spot and they've got banana pudding! Inspired by Magnolia Bakery's famous Banana Pudding in NYC, this is the closest to it and trust when I say, it really hits the spot.
Netil Market - Another market we've been frequently visiting this year too as it is just a 5 mins walk from Broadway Market. Less crowded, less food options too but really good ones with what they have - pizza, bagels, noodles and a sandwich stall.
Toba - An Indonesian spot in the middle of St James, Piccadily. An elegant-modern Indonesian ambience with your favourite staples in a more elevated manner.
Alley Cats Pizza - If you are looking for a New York style pizza spot, this is it in Marylebone. Immediately transports you to a different setting with its brick walls, wood-fire pizza scent and evening light.
Bao Noodle Shop - The famous Bao chain around London but their outlet on Redchurch, Shoreditch specialises in noodles while still offering their crowd favourite baos.
Sucre - For a night to celebrate, this Argentinian restaurant has a really romantic ambience and food is nothing too complicated - we loved celebrating our Q1 accomplishments here.
Smoking Goat - For a fun & flavourful Thai cuisine, this Redchurch gem definitely is a favourite. There was something about sitting on the kitchen table as well that made the overall experience even better.
Ria's - A Chicago style Pizza spot in Notting Hill. This spot is the perfect GNO dinner location.
26 Grains - An all time favourite and I love that the menu is seasonal too so there is always something new to try.
Farmer J - A lunch favourite go-to and mostly around business areas in the city. Simple, healthy, fast.
Som Saa - Another amazing Thai spot in Liverpool Street. So flavourful, spicy and just nice to go in a big group to try different things.

OJT EATS | Singapulah
Tumblr media
If you've walked down Shaftesbury Avenue lately, you may have seen a bit of a queue forming across the road from the Les Mis theatre. If you look closely, you'll see that it is for a new Singapore restaurant called Singapulah.
The place has a very retro aesthetic that works really well. It essentially looks like something out of Singapore in the 80s (or at least how we imagine it would look - seeing as we don't have any real idea)
Tumblr media
Food-wise, the place is all about showing off the classics of Singaporean cuisine, including some slightly lesser known dishes such as this kueh pie tee. Apparently it's a signature Peranakan dish made with crisp shells filled with stewed turnip and carrots and topped with prawn and peanuts. This was really refreshing and a nice light start to the meal.
Tumblr media
While they do all the classics, there's also a couple of slight twists. These were fried chilli crab baos. It's a pretty good attempt at getting all the elements of a chilli crab in a handy snack sized portion. You have the fried mantou in the bun dough and then it's filled with the chilli crab mixture. We'd have liked a little bit more actual crab in this but other than that, this was really nice. A great little alternative for when you don't want a whole crab.
Tumblr media
This place does a bunch of different type of noodles so we figured we had to order at least one of them. This was the Singapulah Bak Chor Mee. It's a wheat noodle dish with fish balls, pork belly and a bunch of other things too.
Tumblr media
Onto the kopi pork: little morsels of slightly crispy pork in an ever so slightly coffee flavoured sauce. These were very tasty. I couldn't really taste the coffee too much and it was more a slightly sweet almost bbq sauce but there was a hint of the bitterness that you get from coffee in there.
Tumblr media
Then it was finally onto dessert. We ordered the kueh lapis which is what looks like a multilayered rice cake. It was very sticky and the flavour was pretty subtle but a lovely end to the meal.
All in all, this was a pretty impressive meal. The decor and atmosphere of the place was excellent and I'll definitely be going back at some point to try their chilli crab and cereal prawns! It's a little pricey for what it is but worth a visit for a good example of some Singaporean classics.
Singapulah, 53 Shaftesbury Ave, London W1D 6LB
Cheers, JL

7 Jan: lunch at Itsu in London
we were in London, we were hungry, I wanted noodles, and he didn't wanna spend a gazillion dollars. itsu was the perfect solution! it serves inexpensive, but delicious and filling, ready-made hot and cold Asian-fusion bowls, sushi, and other yummy things. And almost all of their beverages come in reusable, metal bottles!
my partner enjoyed the dining room set up, and said it was like a lot of casual restaurants he remembers from his time in Japan - the tables are long shared bar-height counters with stools, and unless you're there in a large group you're not gonna have a whole table to yourself. the divider in the middle, as you can see, has USB outlets for charging devices, which we were very grateful for.
9.5/10, delicious and convenient, no complaints -> half a point off for being a bit of an overwhelming environment, but now that I know what to expect I think I would enjoy the set up more next time
bonus pic of the stairs cuz they're cool
i want pink glowy stairs in my house, how do we make this happen
